Let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk who practice true love in resemblance to our Creator, the Heavenly Parent!

I will give you the motto we should uphold until 2020. "Let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk who practice true love in resemblance to our Creator, the Heavenly Parent!"

We should not forget about our Heavenly Parent in our daily life. We should be able to preserve the earth, which was created by God, the Creator, during our earthly lives. Our mission is to witness to and educate people. Fallen people must go through restoration.

What we have to do is to witness. Next, we must enlarge our influence to our surroundings and be able to preserve the beautiful creation that our Heavenly Parent made with all his strength. Please think of the many damages inflicted on the entire world today as a result of man's ignorance. What about the great harm caused on us by the yellow dust and fine dust coming from China, the huge land within our vicinity? Korea is not the only country suffering from this. This dust moves across the Pacific Ocean with the winds all the way, even, to Hawaii. This is a problem that should be handled. It is not something that will stop just because we experience less damage.

Human beings must be awakened from their ignorance and must preserve the environment well. We must save the dying land and oceans. We cannot deny responsibility for this. We must do it. We should feel true ownership just as God does and become one in all respects, cooperating with one another to fulfill this work at all costs. We should not forget about the true owner for even a day, an hour or a minute until 2020 for the sake of the restoration of the nation and world. We must reflect on it repeatedly, borrow Heaven's wisdom, mobilize all the methods and skills we can muster as humans and resolve the problem. If we fail to resolve this problem, we also have no future. You must understand this.

Are you all mostly from the Korean FFWPU Headquarters or from the businesses? [The church and business]

We are all part of the Unification family. We are one family. With this objective in mind, we must strive to achieve this purpose with one heart and one will wherever we are. Do you understand? Let us become true devoted sons and daughters who can achieve higher results with every passing month and year through which our Creator, the Heavenly Parent, can delight in and trust us.

We must not become people who keep changing. I trust that you will act responsibly with a sense of ownership in all respects where responsibility is required. This is your message of blessings as this New Year starts. Remember these words every day as you solve problems one after another in 2014. Just like the motto I gave you mentions, let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk that practice true love in resemblance to our Creator, the Heavenly Parent. This motto does not imply our becoming so later, but becoming so now.

It means we must absolutely be victorious. We should not think of it as something we will do in the future, but a motto we should achieve now. Even though the first anniversary of Foundation Day is around the corner, please make strong determinations and advance with this heart.

We shouldn't forget Heavenly Parent in our daily life. During our earthly life, we should preserve the Earth well which Heavenly Parent, the Creator made. What we need to focus on is witnessing. We need to preserve well this beautiful world of creation in which our Heavenly Parent invested utmost effort, by expanding the reach of our foundation.

Those who have no sense of ownership for all things will fade away. We need to have true ownership! As we restore this nation and the world, let us not forget this for even a day, an hour or even a minute until 2020. Let us think and think again, receiving heaven's wisdom, and then go forward changing the nation and the world mobilizing all the methods, all our ability and everything that we are capable of as humans. Without having changed them, there will be no future for us. We have to change them. We need to become true filial sons and daughters and patriots who can offer results every month that will give our Heavenly Parent, the Creator, cause to trust us and be happy.

In this year 2014, we must solve problems one by one. As you see in the motto, 'Let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk who practice true love in resemblance to our Creator, the Heavenly Parent!' we are not talking about 'we may become,' but we are talking about 'Let us become.' Instead of hoping to accomplish someday, we must be victorious immediately, and we must do it right away. The first anniversary of the Foundation Day is just around the corner, so you all should make a strong determination to begin your action.

We must repay heaven with our results. The methods that we have been using so far must change. We need productivity. That is the only way for us to survive. Please tap into your ability and creativity. You must discover ways to accomplish, instead of expecting someone to do it for you. Do you understand? I ask you to be reborn and become people of Cheon Il Guk.

Don't become the people who just come and go; become the people who practice ownership and a sense of responsibility. These are words of blessing promising a new start for the New Year.

On January 1, True Mother announced the Motto for 2014:

"Let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk who practice true love in resemblance to our Creator, the Heavenly Parent!" (창조주 하늘부모님을 닮은 참사랑을 실천하는 천일국의 참주인이 되자!).

True Mother welcomed the start of the New Year with the words: “Let’s dash forward until we fulfill the hopes of Heaven and all humankind.” She also said: "When we become one in heart, body and mind with our True Parents during our brief time on Earth, our descendants will receive heavenly fortune.”

She urged us forward saying, “We need to stand up. We need to run. If we can fly, it’s better. We don’t have much time left. We should fulfill all of Heaven’s will so our Heavenly Parent can say with pride, “Thank you My Sons and Daughters.”

She emphasized that we should uphold this new motto towards this goal and direction.

Inspired by True Mother’s words, FFWPU USA President Dr. Michael Balcomb said:

After such an eventful and frankly challenging year, we can all feel a sense of hope and excitement that a new year full of God’s grace and mercy is at last upon us. Taking a moment to reflect and re-determine ourselves for 2014, let's remember that we are a family. We're not perfect, but we are a family seeking to develop a culture of heart that can bring more joy to God and True Parents. We may sometimes forget how much blessing we have received, and how much we have to offer to others. We have an incredible message and a faith to share, and each of us has been uniquely called to do so. Let's walk into 2014 with a sense of confidence in our divine calling. We are not inviting people to a perfected culture, but we are welcoming them to help us build it together.”

'Let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk who practice true love in resemblance to our creator, the Heavenly Parent!'

Finally the year 2014 was welcomed with much anticipation. On this day at the Hoon Dok Hae True Mother bestowed the New Year Motto which will be the direction for the unification family for the victory of year 2020.

On 12.1 by the heavenly calendar, 1st Year of Cheon Il Guk (solar: January 1, 2014), welcoming True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, and attending members of leaders, staff of providential organizations, headquarter staff, region leaders couples, 2020 Vision Top Gun 2nd generation 21-day Workshop trainees of around 155 people started the New Years in the Hoon Dok Hae room at Cheon Jeong Gung Museum.

Before the Hoon Dok Hae all the attending members offered their first greetings for the Year 2014 to True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. Then True Mother bestowed a motto 'Let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk who practice true love in resemblance to our creator, the Heavenly Parent!' as our direction towards the year 2020.

True Mother said, "We mustn't live a life forgetting our heavenly parent. We have to properly preserve this earth which was created by heavenly parent."

Then she said, "We have to do witnessing! We have to spread this to the surrounding and preserve this world of creation which was created by heavenly parent." And emphasized that we must become owners and stand in the front line of the providence.

True Mother said, "Those who don't have a sense of responsibility will be swept away. A true owner! Until the year 2020, for the restoration of this nation, for the restoration of this world, we mustn't forget this for one day, one hour or one minute. We have to thoroughly think about it, have insight from the heavens and mobilize everything that a human being can do and change it. If we cannot change this then we will have no future. We have to change this." Then continued on, "We must become sons and daughters of filial piety who can return achievements of joy for heavenly parent, the creator. We cannot become people who will only walk back and forth but become members who can take actions of responsibility. That is the words of blessing that I will give to you as we begin this New Year".

Then the Hoon Dok Hae started by Peter Kim reading the Cheon Seong Gyeong from the 1st Article.

After watching a video presentation True Mother said, "We have to return achievements back to heaven. We have to change the methods that we used from before. Productivity is needed. That is the way to survival. Please add originality to your ability." Then she emphasized to the members to be new born people of Cheon Il Guk, and said, "Let's live a proper year of returning joy back to heaven".

After welcoming the New Year Yuknori (Traditional Korean board game) was played by the attending members after breakfast.

The first Hoon Dok Hae of the New Year according to the solar calendar was held on January 1, 2014. 155 leaders in Korea participated. Before the reading, True Mother stated the motto for 2014: "Let us become true owners of Cheon Il Guk who practice true love in resemblance to our Creator, the Heavenly Parent!" and asked that we uphold this motto up until 2020.

True Mother spoke about environmental problems in the world which have become more serious recently. She said, "We shouldn't forget Heavenly Parent in our daily life. During our earthly life, we should preserve the Earth well which Heavenly Parent, the Creator made."

Then she said, "What we need to focus on is outreach. We need to preserve well this beautiful world of creation in which our Heavenly Parent invested utmost effort, by expanding the reach of our foundation." She further emphasized that "We, in becoming the owner, must take the lead in this."

True Mother said, "Those who have no sense of ownership for all things will fade away. We need to have true ownership! As we restore this nation and the world let us not forget this for even a day, an hour or even a minute until 2020. Let us think and think again, receiving heaven's wisdom, and then go forward changing the nation and the world mobilizing all the methods, all our ability and everything that we are capable of as humans. "We need to become true filial sons and daughters and patriots who can offer results every month that will give our Heavenly Parent, the Creator, cause to trust us and be happy. Don't become the people who just come and go; become the people who practice ownership and a sense of responsibility. These are words of blessing promising a new start for the New Year."

Mrs. McDevitt read from the Cheon Seong Gyeong regarding the existence and attributes of God. After watching a video clip, True Mother said, "Now is the time to offer results before Heaven. Going forward, use different methods from the ones you have used before. Be always focused and productive and you will survive. More specifically, find creativity in your ability."

True Mother said, "Let's have a meaningful life of offering results before Heaven." Then she asked the participants to applaud to express their new resolution for 2014.

After the meeting, participants had breakfast and played yute together.

Seeing True Mother up close, I feel that she acts and thinks like True Father. True Father always lived centered on heaven, investing all his heart in everything that he did with very little sleep at night. Because of this, those who worked closely with him had difficulties both physically and spiritually when following him. After his Seonghwa, True Mother said, ‘I never slept over three hours because I attended True Father all my life.’ Now that he is in the spirit world, we would like her to rest a little. She is 70 years old, so she should spend time resting and taking care of her health.

True Mother, however, does not rest at all. I actually think that her current rest time is shorter than her rest time when True Father was with her physically. Seeing her work without much rest, I cannot help saying to myself, ‘She is indeed True Mother, whatever may happen.’ Whether True Father is on earth or in the spirit world, her lifestyle has not changed.

Reveal the Truth in the Last Days

Did you miss me a lot? How much? [Audience member: As much as the sky and the earth] The lights are a bit strong, so I will put these [sunglasses] on.

Even though we experience it in December each year, I am curious about what Americans who have a foundation in Christianity think about Christmas. I will ask you something: Due to the irresponsibility of those around him, Jesus knew that he had no choice but to die on the cross, but he gathered his disciples for the Last Supper. At the Last Supper, what was the main course? You famous pastors, do you know? What was it?

In the fifteenth century, the famous artist Leonardo Da Vinci painted “The Last Supper.” Until then, those who were Christian must not have been able to think broadly. Civilization today, in the twenty first century, is very developed. As has been said before, we are now in an era when we cannot ignore climate issues and the issue of future human survival. However, for some reason Christian culture did not develop.

Da Vinci painted “The Last Supper” in the fifteenth century, but throughout the years, it became badly damaged. Restoring it took twenty years, and when they looked, they saw that the Last Supper’s main course was fish. Did you know that? Christians, who received persecution during the time of the Roman Empire, used fish as their secret symbol. They used fish a lot, symbolically. Fish contributed a lot even in developing a civilization.

In that case, one of Jesus’ miracles recorded in the Bible is the miracle of multiplication. I thought about how he could have fed five thousand people with just two fish. Pastors… Bishop Edwards, Archbishop Stallings, what do you think? The Middle East has a long summer. If you do not eat fish right away after catching them from the river or sea they rot. What method did they develop? Salt preservation! The two fish that Jesus used were salted fish. In other words, fish preserved with salt. I do not know how the Christian cultural sphere explained this, but it is possible. Right? You can feed many people with just one piece of salted fish. Isn’t this so?

Awaken the people

When you think about it, you have a lot of learn from me. It is time to reveal the truth. Those in the Christian cultural sphere have been waiting for the returning Lord, but they were unaware of why he was coming and what he has done.

They simply thought that they could go to heaven if they believed in and followed him. There is a Korean phrase, “licking the outside of a watermelon.” Watermelons are beautiful in the sweltering summer season. Yet you cannot know the cool, sweet taste that is on the inside if you only lick the outside. You need to break it open. Those in the Christian cultural sphere need to break open and strive to learn the truth. Yet they have not developed in that way. Until today, how could those who did not fulfill their responsibility stand in the center and deserve respect? Aren’t you curious about that?

Do not repeat failures

Through a spiritual process, the Virgin Mary was the one to conceive Jesus. You will know through the Bible that the environment at that time was a very difficult one, in which people could not speak about things plainly. Yet for the thirty-three years of Jesus’ life and during his public ministry, did Mary fulfill her responsibility as a mother or not? How is it that Jesus, who came as the Messiah, had to live a difficult life alone until he died at thirty-three? This is a heartbreaking, sad story.

Christmas is not Jesus’ actual birthdate. How is it that not one person spoke the truth about that throughout all these years? This is a sad situation. God had a dream; Heaven had a hope… God had gone through a process with tears of blood for four thousand years just to establish a single person. How hard was it that it took four thousand years until he could lead an individual, family, tribe and people? However, those four thousand years disappeared once again into bubbles in only thirty-three years. How did Heavenly Parent feel in his heart? How did Jesus himself feel? How painful was it for Jesus, who was unable to achieve the position of a filial son to his parent? Ladies and gentlemen, can you imagine that?

The two-thousand-year Christian history displays a superficial faith, unaware of the internal circumstances. The people of today need to be different. You have met the True Parents. You have received the blessing from True Parents. You are no longer wild olive trees but are true olive trees. This means that you are now in a position that is unrelated to the Fall. Is it okay for only you to be in such a position? Heavenly Parent’s wish and True Parents’ wish is to bless all seven billion people as Heavenly Parent’s children.

End catastrophes

If they know of the truth, what will happen to today’s people? They will become one. If that happens, the unified world, heaven on earth, will be achieved automatically. However, to you who have received the blessing, to pastors who have received the calling first, you have a responsibility. True Parents cannot fulfill this responsibility for you. You need to do it. True Parents have shown you, practiced it and prepared a foundation of victory. Thus, you only need to fulfill your responsibility by following us exactly. I am saying that you must not stop because one family is blessed.

Educating people will help overcome natural disasters and all the things that are happening around the world. Whether I am in Korea, Japan or America, I ask members to unite and educate others so that these problems can be resolved. This is fulfilling one’s responsibility as a tribal messiah. You need to tell others. There must be no one who does not know, especially since they are living at the same time as True Parents. By doing this you will live freely in the eternal world.

Our life as blessed families is the greatest blessing in all of the six-thousand-year history of fallen human beings. You must not hold it to yourselves. There is a future for us, and for those in the second and third generations. You must fulfill your responsibility as the ancestors and as parents of the future. Depending on how you expand your environment, your descendants can be freer. Doesn’t a parental heart hope that children will live a better life than the parents have? Hence, for the sake of your loving children, you must fulfill your responsibilities before you go to the next world.

Spread the blessing

Someone told me that about twelve hundred people have come here today. If all of you were determined to complete [blessing] four hundred and thirty couples as tribal messiahs, what would happen? What would happen to this nation? Heavenly Parent had a great dream for this nation. However, such devotion has become very scarce over the past two hundred years. In the speech, it said that God would have no choice but to leave this nation because he can no longer see any hope. However, True Parents have devoted half of their lives here giving everything to reawaken the people in hopes that this nation becomes the one that fulfills its original responsibility, which God blessed it for, and becomes a nation that can embrace the world. Yet this nation has made many mistakes. They are still waiting for the returning Lord on the foundation of Christianity. Even when the returning Lord has come as True Parents and the providence has turned a page, the reality is that today’s Christianity is living in the Old Testament Age.

Therefore, we who are living in the twenty-first century need to change at this point. I said this before, but in the Last Days, what is true must be revealed. You must reveal the truth. God’s hope and True Parents’ hope is the same as the people’s hope. Thus, no ignorant religions or people should become obstacles. They need to be educated. Once again, True Parents are stressing and earnestly asking this of you today. In December, we especially think a lot about Jesus’ life. You are in the position to restore through indemnity the responsibility that those in the days of Jesus did not fulfill and to be victorious. Please be aware that the central ministers in ACLC who are leading this nation have this responsibility.

What did I say I would make in Chung Pyung by 2020 so that becomes an eternal holy ground where the people can experience and feel True Parents’ love? I will make the Cheonji Sunhak Won [museum]. I am going to make an environment, in which we can show the results of the time when you lived with True Parents to the people of the future. When I think about this, every day I am grateful and happy. Even though my body may be weary, I can make an environment where God’s hope and humanity’s hope is accomplished. Ladies and gentlemen, will you join me in this? Once again, may your days of hard work and responsibility bring that day nearer.
