To heal the flaws of the Unification Church and the Family Federation is not easy

I feel inspired to see you all. [Applause] After True Father's Seonghwa, I was in an indescribable position in which I was all alone. There were many elder members but I could not consider them for advice because they could not see the providence. We had to conduct the Seonghwa Ceremony in a place where heads of state in all nations in the world recognized True Parents' status at the national level per Heaven's criteria.

However, even though situations should not have occurred, I was in the position of having to finish the providence alone. It felt as if I had to find a small needle in an environment where I could not open my eyes as a sandstorm was blowing in a desolate desert. With this unimaginable heart [holding back tears] I, alone, found that needle. [Applause]

To heal all the flaws, despite scars that have not healed during the fifty-year history of the Unification Church and the Family Federation is not easy. Moreover, today you heard progress reports by the secretary general of the World Mission Headquarters about the global providence. No one believed in what I wanted to do. They told me that it wouldn't work. It was over what transpired in Africa. "Why do you choose a country like South Africa, where we have no foundation and even a Muslim country?" Everyone was blocking me.

Dr. Thomas Walsh spoke on UPF's 2019 World Summit; Dr. Robert Kittel on YSP's development; Jin-tae Ju, V.P. FFWPU-K, on Korean rallies; Carolyn Handschin on WFWP at the UN; Merly Barlaan, WFWP-Philippines, on far-reaching programs to help young people and Lee Myung-gwan, VP of HJ Heaven and Earth CheonBo Training Center on developments there.

Heavenly Parent and True Parents' dream is to raise the 7.6 billion of people in the world as children of Heavenly Parent through True Parents. At the lowest point, in which the environment was inappropriate, we could not avoid beginning the history of the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity. I had to start the providence in an environment that did not fit the Messiah, who comes on the foundation prepared by Christianity for over two thousand years.

Moreover, while proclaiming the Cheon Il Guk era with Foundation Day, I said that Cheon Il Guk should not just be a name. The significance of my proclaiming that I am God's only daughter, the True Mother, is to show humanity that True Parents have realized Heaven's substantial and physical providence on earth. Did you accept it? [Yes] I think that answer was easy to say, but when I think about the improper education and that a three-year-old's habit remain as long as eighty years, I do not think it was easy to correct people. Isn't that true? But now are you convinced? [Yes! Applause]

Following True Father's Seonghwa, as I promised to Heaven, I will achieve national restoration with you before 2020! FFWPU Korean leaders, are you confident? Regional presidents, are you confident? [Yes!] I said that we need to restore at least seven nations. It is not only words. You should do national restoration practically in order for Heavenly Parent to remember you. The people responsible for each region, in doing this work, must work with the World Mission Headquarters.

Remained connected to Korea

Especially important is to show that the focal point of Vision 2020 is Korea. However, during this assembly, when I heard reports from the regions, I discovered that the Asia region was planning a summit for next January. That is a decision you have to make in consultation with the World Mission Headquarters.

Each region has to make Vision 2020 a success by making sure they've centered it on True Parents. Do you understand? There is an order. In order to keep the order, you must decide with the headquarters. Do you understand? One year remains. Heavenly Parent has been waiting for you for six thousand years, but you are still standing here with True Parents. You have not been able to bear fruit but now you will start. Going through step one, step two until the step three, what can we do when we think about how the world may be in twenty years? [Yes!] Can you do it? [Yes! Applause]

So I hope that you will be able to get real help from the spirit world. When I went to Africa, the righteous people helped me. Heaven has prepared many righteous people for us. Shouldn't you inform them? You have to show me that you will do it. You have to help them to bear fruit since they have been offering devotion for so long for Heaven. Will you do that? [Yes]

Leaders, go out to the field

First, I said that I would announce a restructuring Foundation Day. But today I will change the name of the training center to the Heaven and Earth HJ Cheonbo Training Center! [Applause] The hospital will be renamed HJ Magnolia International Hospital. [Applause] Chung Pyung is not an appropriate name because the meaning of this training center is to raise cosmopolitan people who qualify to register in Cheonbowon and whom Heaven can remember. Do you understand? [Yes! Applause]

From now on, director of the training center, when you make official notifications, change the name of the training center, do you understand? [Yes!] Now, we have to speak with one voice within our organization. So I do not want you to waste your time saying unnecessary things. Do you understand? In particular, I would like the regional presidents and all the leaders to leave the center and work for the sake of the whole. That is the instruction from True Mother. Do you understand? Will you do that?

Only a year remains until 2020 but I saw you in a position that was not right. Isn't that true? If so, how many more efforts should we offer? I truly wish you all to be the ones who will bring great victories and glory to our Heavenly Parent in 2020 with all your heart and soul. In Heaven's providence, the time to reveal the hidden historic truth has arrived

For a long time, human beings have been longing to realize a world of peace. Humanity has harbored the dream of one human family. However, the world runs contrary to humanity's wishes. So many problems exist that we can't fathom the unsolvable problems in today's world -- barriers between religions, cultures, races, nationalities and ideologies…. As time passes, barriers increase. Could there ever be a real future? We cannot avoid thinking about this seriously. The world has more than two hundred nations.

The nations' being eager to realize world peace led to the founding of the UN. However, even seventy years after its founding, the world's nations want unity but are unable to come together. The world's superpowers, the smaller nations, too, all prioritize their personal interests. For that reason, they cannot become one.

All human beings wonder whom they should listen to, what they should seek. The conclusion is that human beings cannot solve problems by their efforts alone. We should know the original creator and owner, God. All human beings should know him; humanity should serve him. That's what we have to do!

Until today, despite the work of the main religion, Christianity, with its Christian culture, we have people saying that God is dead and communism emerged. This is incorrect. It is regrettable. The world is gloomy and when God looks at the world -- God who should have been our parent -- how much in pain must Heavenly Parent's heart be! God created heaven, earth and all creation in accordance with the principles of creation.

Nature follows the existing laws and principles in place, so spring comes and then summer, followed by autumn and winter. There's a natural way to life. No one teaches them but the cycle continues. Only human beings are not able to follow. There is an endless succession of war and conflict.... Take this country; look at the situation between North Korea and South Korea. Though they are on the road to becoming one, as long as ideas or thoughts are human-centered, we can't find a way to peace.

Historical truths

So in Heaven's providence, as we reach the completion stage, the time to reveal the hidden historic truth has arrived: I am here. I am the person that Heavenly Parent waited for. I declared that I am God's only daughter. Two thousand years ago, Jesus Christ came as God's only son. Mary gave birth to Jesus but the people around him did not become one with Jesus. Eventually he had to take the path of the cross. Jesus' good environment was lost. Jesus lost all and had to go the way of the cross. That is why he said he would return. He clearly said he would come back and hold the marriage supper of the Lamb. That means that two thousand years ago Jesus Christ would have come as a True Parent. Fallen humankind has to go through True Parents. Without going through them, humankind cannot come into Heavenly Parent's presence, the Creator's presence, God's presence. Humankind cannot move forward. Fallen humanity's genealogy has nothing to do with God. Only through True Parents can we receive new life. If we do not go through process of rebirth, Heavenly Parent cannot say, "My son" or "My daughter." If the True Parents did not support the environment of the 59th Holy Wedding anniversary, we would not reach 2020 and the 60th anniversary. Now we will.

The means of restoration

Around the world, we have created many blessed families. I asked them to become tribal messiahs. Through this summit, I told the heads of states, "When you return to your country be the messiah of your nation." More than 7.6 billion human beings should become God's children. The fastest way is for leaders who are in charge of a country to work for Heaven's providence. If they become their respective country's messiah, will it be possible to restore the country and restore the world? Such things do not happen overnight. It takes time.

But we wish to move forward and for people's spirit and original mind to be with True Parents on this position, to align with Heaven's will. Aren't you in our second generation? You have parents you can be proud of. Isn't that so? To unify the world, having one language is the fastest way. In our country, when babies start to speak, they cannot pronounce the word "Eomma" [mother] properly but instead they say "Ma!" or "Eum-ma!" In the West, the words "Abba" and "Oemma" are pronounced "Mama" and "Papa." It is like this. Isn't it similar? Among all languages, Korean resembles most closely the sound of the original mind.

You scholarship students have grown up in different cultures all around the world. However, by knowing True Parents and observing True Parents' wishes, humanity can become one family. You came to this country and found this wish in your heart to move forward. Is it possible for you to become perfect in Korean while you are studying here? Worldwide, people recognize Korean as the most scientific language. In addition, they say that by using Korean on the internet and electronic devices, we can transmit the most information. For that reason, I advise people in countries with a language using long words to learn Korean.

Yeon Ah Moon, chair of the HJ Peace Foundation, gave a welcome address. Rev. Gi-seong Lee, president of FFWPU Korea prayed. Jocelerme Privert, president, Republic of Haiti (2016–2017) gave congratulatory remarks. Gyeong-deuk Yu, secretary general of Youth and Students for Peace Korea was the MC.

You are now in a growing process. At the time of the Creation, God made Adam and Eve to become ancestors to all human beings and for that, he gave them a period of growth; God gave them time to grow up. To fulfill your life's dream, you are now at an age when you can learn and grow. For what dream are you developing yourselves? In the past, Adam and Eve could not unite with God. Self-centered desires emerged. Thus, the world you see today became a place unrelated to God.

Blessed second-generation members standing now in front of True Parents and Heavenly Parent, are you going to solve that situation? Do you know about sunflowers? Sunflowers always turn toward the sun during the day. Wherever you are in the world, your original mind is only turning in True Parents' direction, isn't it? That's why I love you. In all respects, you should grow well. Become loyal, filial sons or daughters who are proud to have and help True Parents and Heavenly Parent wherever -- on the five oceans or the six continents. I ask you to become a light for the world. To embrace the all humankind, I am investing in many areas. I pray that your efforts and your studies can bear much fruit in those areas.

25th International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences Founder’s Address

Founder’s Address, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon (Delivered by Sun Jin Moon) February 13, 2019, Jamsil Lotte Hotel, Seoul, South Korea

Distinguished scholars and participants gathered for the 25th International Conference on the Unity of the Sciences. Welcome to Korea and welcome to this very important conference which aims to address and offer solutions to some of our world’s critical problems, including the degradation of our environment.

It is my special privilege and honor to deliver the “Founder’s Address” on behalf of Rev. Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, my beloved mother. She very much wanted to be here today, as she has a great passion for the work you are doing to help humanity through scientific research. But, unfortunately, she has a schedule conflict related to the many concurrent events taking place at this time. Today she is awarding 2,519 Sunhak scholarships to young people from 80 countries so they may have the opportunity to attend college, and make a better and brighter future for the world. I am sure that many of these young people will pursue careers in science, following in your footsteps. Since she cannot be here, I will read Rev. Dr. Moon’s speech, the Founder’s Address. I hope you will give it your wholehearted attention. Like my father, who always delivered a Founder’s Address at ICUS meetings, she has a profoundly spiritual and moral vision that I hope you will appreciate. It is her sincere wish that, together, we can build a world of sustainable peace, human development and mutual prosperity.

I will now begin to read the Founder’s Address:

Year by year, the deterioration of the global environment is expanding. Climate change, extreme weather conditions, deteriorating air quality, polluted oceans are now the subject of everyday conversations. There is growing concern that a great catastrophe is upon us.

It is no exaggeration to say that the preservation of our environment is the most pressing and weightiest issue humanity faces today. Many countermeasures and policies have been proposed and implemented, but they have not been effective. Without a fundamental solution, we are reaching the point where we cannot guarantee the future of humankind.

It is time that we seek a more fundamental solution by turning our attention to God, the Creator of humanity and this universe. When people live without a higher, overall purpose, individualism and selfishness are triggered and the cosmic order is destroyed. As a result natural disasters, food shortages and pollution proliferate, leading to environmental problems and ecological crises, even threatening the survival of humankind and the natural world.

God, the Creator who made the entire universe, is the essential origin of true love. Since a feature of love is that there be partners, God created human beings as His substantial object partners of true love, and all aspects of the natural world as symbolic objects of His love. God created everything to become one through true love. He created human beings and all living beings to feel life, hope, and the joy of love. God’s joy is ultimately fulfilled by experiencing the joy of all humankind. The world He created is to be a source of joy for everything that lives here.

Yet God’s ideal of creation did not unfold as He had planned, and confusion resulted. As human beings, we were meant to grow our character and achieve perfection of love, thus completing our portion of responsibility in the creation. We would thereby obtain the qualification to take dominion in love over all the natural world. That we were unable to do so resulted in the collapse of the relationship between God, human beings, and all other living beings.

Those who are sick need to learn how to restore their health. Likewise, to restore the relationship between God, human beings, and all living things to the original state, we must know God’s original purpose of creation and the principles by which to achieve that purpose.

When we human beings come to have loving dominion over the natural world in oneness with God, with true love as the center, we can relate to all living beings with a true love that lives for the sake of others. This will bring about a change of heart toward the natural world. In particular, we will see a transformation that moves us away from pursuing self-centered development practices that abused and pushed nature to the point of destruction. Moreover, the natural world will receive God’s love through humankind, as it provides us with food for survival, aesthetic stimulation, and an adequate living environment. Since everything was created based on God’s heart of love, through even one blade of grass, a flower, or a tree, a person can deeply experience God’s limitless love.

We can only take dominion or stewardship over the natural world we ourselves come to embody God’s love. Through us, the natural world becomes connected to the true love of the intangible God, who is without form. For this reason, God, human beings, and the natural world are meant to form an organic whole, harmonized and united in true love, in accordance with God’s purpose of creation.

In this process, religion, which seeks God, and science, which deals with the world of material reality, are themselves harmonized and unified. Humankind is moving toward a time in which the barriers between science and religion will be overcome. In addition, science has developed to a point which will make it possible to know God directly. From this perspective, I sincerely hope that there is opportunity for conventional science to be newly understood with God as the center, and for its history to be newly arranged as the history of the sciences centered on God. In so doing, the original stature and value of everything that God created will be properly restored. I would therefore like to propose that this conference become a heavenly science conference – a conference on the sciences that is centered on God.

Ultimately, all people are to meet and become reborn through the original True Parents, God’s begotten son and daughter who are one in heart with God, and ultimately go on to actualize peace through forming true families, true tribes, true nations and a true world. On this foundation, the natural world will realize its connection to God’s true love through humankind, and its original status will be established. This will enable God, human beings, and all creation to fulfill God’s ideal of creation, by coming together in harmony centered on a heart of true love. Thus, we are not simply striving to protect nature and prevent any misuse or abuse; we must also restore the original status and value of the natural world by revealing the original relationship between our Creator, humankind, and everything in nature.

In addition to the vertical religious life, the primary focus of which is the relationship between God and human beings, humankind must also strive to ensure the firm establishment of the original ideal of the natural world, bringing Heaven, humankind and all things on earth into harmony.

We must understand the earnest heart with which the natural world looked forward to receiving God’s love through humankind. We must also experience deeply in our bones the effort God has invested and the spiritual challenges He has faced throughout the course of history to restore the original relationship between God, humankind, and all creation.

You cannot love people without loving the creation God made for them. You cannot love God without loving people, who are God’s children. The Middle Ages, when God was the main focus, have passed. The era when rationalism was the dominant philosophy has also passed. The materialistic thought that entrapped people in the realm of materialism is also fading away. We now need to usher in an age that seeks and enjoys true love, an era in which people live for the sake of one another. We need to establish a world in which people live for the sake of each other through interdependence, mutual prosperity and universal values.

I established the Hyojeong International Foundation for the Unity of the Sciences in 2017, and revived the International Conference for the Unity of the Sciences after 17 years, in order to urge all of humankind to invest effort globally to overcome the environmental problems we face today. I have done this for the sake of the development of scientific theories and technologies that can resolve these issues, and so that environmental policies that assure the well-being of future generations will be proposed to the governments of each nation and to international organizations. Distinguished international leaders! Today is the 30th anniversary of the Segye Times and many of you came to attend this commemoration. Thank you for your presence.

I am well known worldwide as a religious leader. However, how did we come to create a newspaper?

In addition, the early 1980s was a time when the United States, the nation representing democracy, faced the threat of communist powers.

At the same time, there was another situation. From those in the cultural sphere of Christianity, who believe in God, mottos like 'God is dead' and communism came out. At that time, communism was conquering the world. In such a context, the United States was in a dangerous situation.

Moreover, before the world, in the U.S. capital, Washington DC, there was only one conservative newspaper. As you all know, the Washington Post is not a conservative journal. Why would we do that? (Make a conservative newspaper, the Washington Times.)

My husband and I are the Messiah. We are the Saviors. That means that for humanity to know and attend God, True Parents have the responsibility to educate people. In fact, we have received a lot of persecution from Christians in Korea. Because we are the Messiah, we knew that, if America collapsed, God would have no place to stand. That is why we founded the Washington Times. It will be 36 years old this year.

In our national anthem, we can find the part: 'May God protect and preserve our country?' Do you know what it really means? We can no longer delay in revealing the truth of Heaven's providence. It's time to proclaim: 'I am the Messiah.'

With a human-orientated political economy, Korea cannot become a true unified nation. The owner of this country is God the Creator. You have to know in detail Who God Is, what Heaven's providence entails and why the Messiah should come.

Two thousand years ago, Jesus came as the True Parent of humanity; but, he could not fulfill God's Will and died on the cross. He said, 'I will come back.' Then the disciples resurrected through the Holy Spirit and Christianity could begin.

In the early days, Christians received a lot of persecution. In 1313, Rome recognized Christianity, which grew centered on the peninsula of Italy. It spread through the continent of Europe to the island of England.

In the 17th century, King James translated the Hebrew Bible into English. Many laypersons could study the Word. In the meantime, in the Catholic cultural sphere, there have been many failures. Many bad things occurred.

In the norms created by humans, the human spirit was confined. That is why communism could emerge. Due to these lay people, a movement that can attend God from their hearts appeared. It was the Puritan movement. They chose the United States. This nation was founded 200 years ago and became the central country, representative of democracy for the whole world.

Thousands of years ago, many countries existed; but, Heaven took America's side and heard America. If so, this country of America... What should it do for the Will of God?...for mankind? They have to take responsibility.

One Mongolian housewife saw land that was undergoing decertification and started planting trees. She created a green mountain. I heard that on the news. If the country had eyes on these things, wouldn't that be great?

Increasingly, big and small nations cannot survive on their own. They have to live together. Only then, can there be a future. The United Nations was for all to become one. It was founded in order to establish peace; but, nations are not uniting. The reason is that they give their own national interests priority. Through human intelligence and human efforts alone, they cannot unite. That is the bottom line.

So, what should we do and how? The Original Owner and Creator is God! God created human beings and had a purpose for the Creation. He wanted to become a Parent, so He created human beings. The invisible Spirit, our Heavenly Parent, wanted to become a visible True Parent to humanity. That's why He created human beings.

There is only one conclusion. This country and all the countries of the world need to join in a movement of serving God, the Owner. This is a must. We cannot do otherwise.

The unification of North and South, becoming a Heavenly unified Korea is the future for this country. That is what I requested from the Segye Times.

There is no perfection in ignorance. Education is needed. From now on, the Segye Times will go that way. Government leaders assembled here today, everyone from the academic world, this country as a healthy country will be able to be proud in front of mankind. You will want us to be such a country.

As fast as possible, this nation should become one that serves Heavenly Parent. Becoming filial sons and daughters is the only way to become such a nation. It is the only way for this country to survive.
