True Mother's Words for the 30th Anniversary of the Segye Times

Distinguished international leaders! Today is the 30th anniversary of the Segye Times and many of you came to attend this commemoration Thank you for your presence. I am well known worldwide as a religious leader. However, how did I come to create a newspaper? In addition, the early 1980s was a time when the United States, the nation representing democracy, faced the threat of communist powers. At the same time, there was another situation. From those in the cultural sphere of Christianity, who believe in God, mottoes like 'God is dead' and communism came out. At that time, communism was conquering the world. In such a context, the United States was in a dangerous situation. Moreover, in the world's capital, Washington DC; there was only one newspaper. As you all know, the Washington Post is not a conservative journal. At that time, True Parents decided to create the Washington Times. Why would we do that? My husband and I are the Messiah. We are the Saviors. That means that for humanity, to know and attend God, True Parents have the responsibility to educate people. In fact, we have received a lot of persecution from Christians in Korea. Because we are the Messiah, we knew that if America collapsed, God would have no place to stand. That is why we founded the Washington Times It will be 36 years old this year. Today is the 30th anniversary of the founding of the Segye Times. During that time, older people know that Korea was walking up a difficult path, threatened by communism. The country that saw its liberation in 1945! In 1950, when the Korean War started how unknown this country was! How is it possible that for such a country, troops from 16 countries under the UN come and shed blood here? Have you ever thought about that? In our National Anthem, we can find the part: 'May God protect and preserve our country!’ Do you know what it really means? We can no longer delay in revealing the truth of Heaven's providence. It's time to proclaim: 'I am the Messiah.' With a human-oriented political economy, Korea cannot become a true unified nation. The owner of this country is God the Creator. You have to know in detail who God is what Heaven's providence entails and why the Messiah should come. Two thousand years ago, Jesus came as the True Parent of humanity, but he could not fulfill God's will and died on the cross. He said, 'I will come back.' Then, the disciples resurrected through the Holy Spirit and Christianity could begin. In the early days, Christians received a lot of persecution. In 313, Rome recognized Christianity, which grew centered on the peninsula of Italy. It spread through the continent of Europe to the island of England. In the 17th century, King James translated the Hebrew Bible into English. Many laypersons could study the Word. In the meantime, in the Catholic cultural sphere, there have been many failures. Many bad things occurred. In the norms created by humans, the human spirit was confined. That is why communism could emerge. Due to these laypeople, a movement that can attend God from their hearts appeared. It was the Puritan movement. They chose the United States. This nation was founded 200 years ago and became the central country, representative of democracy for the whole world. It has been 200 years since it was founded. This country of Korea, representative of world democracy… It became a central country. Thousands of years ago Many countries existed. But the Heavens took America's side, heard America. If so, this country of America… What should it do for the will of God… for mankind? They have to take responsibility. In the position of the savior, True Parents came to educate America. So that it can fulfill its mission. In order to make them aware, the Washington Times was created. That's why it was established. The same applies to the Korean people for the sake of the nation's salvation. We need to serve God. Whether or not there was a need to do so was not a question. It was dark! We could not look at the world. In such a situation, because we are the True Parents, we created the Segye Times. The Segye Times is not just a just a newspaper that informs, it is a newspaper that educates. In today's world, there are over 200 countries but many of these countries feel their existence is threatened, even super powers. It applies to them too. Until a few years ago, I think there was no pollution. The air of this country wasn't polluted. Of course, this country is also responsible, but isn't powerful China actually contaminating us? For this reason, a few years ago, I proclaimed, 'Let's awaken China!' One Mongolian housewife saw land that was undergoing desertification and started planting trees and created a green mountain. I heard that on the news. If the country had eyes on these things, wouldn't that be great? Increasingly, big and small nations cannot survive on their own. They have to live together; only then can there be a future. The United Nations was for all to become one; it was founded in order to establish peace, but nations are not uniting. The reason is that they give their own national interests priority. Through human intelligence and human efforts alone, they cannot unite. That is the bottom line. So, what and how should we do? The original owner and Creator, God! God created human beings and had a purpose for the Creation. He wanted to become a parent, so, He created human beings. The invisible spirit, our Heavenly Parent. wanted to become a visible True Parent to humanity. That's why He created human beings. There is only one conclusion. This country and all the countries of the world need to join in a movement of serving God, the owner. This is a must. We cannot do otherwise. The unification of North and South, becoming a Heavenly unified Korea is the future for this country. That is what I requested from the Segye Times.

There is no perfection in ignorance. Education is needed. From now on, the Segye Times will go that way. Government leaders assembled here today, everyone from the academic world, this country, as a healthy country, will be able to be proud in front of mankind. You will want us to be such a country. As fast as possible, this nation should become one that serves Heavenly Parent; becoming filial sons and daughters, is the only way to become such a nation. It is the only way for this country to survive. You have to lead in this work. To those at the Segye Times, who have pledged to move forward, please encourage, guide and send them a lot of your love. Hak Ja Han Awards Sunhak Peace Prize to Dr. Akinwumi Adesina and Waris Dirie

True Mother awarded one million dollars to this year's Sunhak Peace Prize laureates, Waris Dirie and Dr. Akinwumi Ayodeji Adesina, as part of her philanthropic work, at the Lotte Hotel in Korea on February 9. The biennial award honors individuals and organizations who have made significant contributions to the peace and welfare of future generations.

As an agricultural economist, Dr. Akinwumi Adesina has been a leader in agricultural innovation for over 30 years. He has contributed greatly to food security in Africa, aimed at improving the lives of millions currently living in poverty throughout the African continent. "This Prize is not about me. No one should ever work to win a prize. I serve God and humanity. For my life is only useful to the extent to which it helps to lift millions out of poverty," stated Dr. Adesina during his acceptance speech.

Dr. Adesina has been pioneering major transformations in the agricultural field, including expanding rice production by introducing high yielding technologies, designing and implementing policies to support farmers' access to technologies at scale, increasing the availability of credit for millions of smallholder farmers, attracting private investments for the agricultural sector, rooting out corrupt elements in the fertilizer industry, and assisting in the establishment of major agricultural policies for Africa's green revolution.

The Africa Fertilizer Summit, which he organized in 2006, was one of the largest high-level meetings in history that had a focus on solving Africa's food issues. During the Summit, Dr. Adesina was instrumental in developing the "Abuja Declaration on Fertilizer for the African Green Revolution," whereby the participants stated their commitment to the "eradication of hunger in Africa by 2030."

Dr. Adesina currently serves as the president of the African Development Bank Group, which plays a central role in the continent's development. As an "economic commander" of Africa, he promotes the "High 5 Strategy:" light up and power Africa; feed Africa; industrialize Africa; integrate Africa and improve the quality of life for the people of Africa.

Waris Dirie, human rights activist, was the first person in history to publicize the violence of Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) on the world stage, saving millions of lives by raising the issue of FGM as an international human rights agenda. As a victim of FGM herself, she quit a successful career as a supermodel and dedicated the past 25 years to making FGM a recognized worldwide human rights crisis.

Ms. Dirie is actively working to raise awareness of this violent act that has affected the lives of countless women and girls. Her advocacy focuses on education as the fundamental key to eradicating FGM and empowering women and girls to have the knowledge they need to protect themselves. She emphasizes the fact that until women have equal respect, there cannot be lasting peace.

In 2002, she founded the Desert Flower Foundation, an organization aimed at raising awareness of the dangers surrounding FGM. The Foundation raises money for schools and clinics in her native Somalia and supports the Zeitz Foundation, an organization focused on sustainable development and conservation.

I extend a warm welcome to you all. Today, we have gathered on this auspicious occasion to ensure that in this new millennium, the hope for a prosperous future does not remain an ideal but that the prospects for world peace come to fruition. All of you here today are indeed historic figures. You are key leaders and pioneers of the realization of peace.

That countless challenges and countless problems are happening throughout the world is true. We see the repetition of problems that have happened throughout history. Why is it that despite humanity's earnest wish for lasting peace, it has not been able to achieve it? Even today, we are still wishing for such a time of victory.

We must know that the creator of the universe, God, is the true owner of the universe. We need to understand his essence. God created heaven and earth in his image. Lastly, God created our first human ancestors. God created a man and a woman and gave them a period of growth. He gave them the opportunity to be responsible. Their responsibility was to become absolutely one with God. They should have grown as sunflowers do, always facing the sun during the day. Just as a sunflower follows a path of growth, the first human ancestors should have lived their lives in complete unity with God's ideal. But that did not happen. Due to selfish human desires… Unfortunately, their self-centered desire to resemble God before they had reached maturity led them to commit an act that went against God's ideal.

Humanity today is in a position with no relation to God, the Creator. In other words, humanity today remains distant from God. Throughout history, God has sent countless religious leaders and countless righteous people to guide humanity along the path of virtue and righteousness. Nevertheless, because humanity truly failed to understand God's essence, it could not realize its long wished dream of peace on earth.

Seeking True Parents

God is the true parent of all humanity. Even though humans had been in the position of knowing God, humanity has been unable to live fully according to his will. Tremendous pain ensued and God, almighty and omnipotent, the alpha and the omega, has but one desire, the realization of his ideal, the purpose of the Creation. Since God gave humanity a portion of responsibility within the rules he established, God sent his only son and wished to find his only daughter. He has been yearning for the day he could find victorious human beings he could call my son and my daughter, so that they could fulfill the True Parent ideal.

Jesus' salvific efforts

Until this could happen, God alone led the arduous providence of restoration through indemnity. For that reason, after four thousand biblical years of providential history, God had no choice but to go through the history of the providence of salvation two thousand years ago. God sent to earth his only son, Jesus Christ, as the savior. Unfortunately, the Israelites, even Mary who gave birth to Jesus, failed to recognize and support Jesus. How could we claim that Jesus' blood on the cross saved us? Christians today believe salvation comes from Jesus' blood, shed on the cross, but this was not the true purpose of his advent.

Today's Christianity does not know Jesus' essence. On the cross, Jesus told his disciples he would come back again. While waiting for Jesus' return, through the Pentecost and the work of the Apostles, Christianity began. However, for two thousand years, we recognize that many problems arose. How is it possible that within certain Christians cultural realms, communism, which claims that God is dead, could emerge? The only person that can teach about this regrettable history and the essence of Heaven's providence is the Messiah. Until today, throughout the world, many righteous, virtuous men and women are risking their lives for the sake of truth and virtue, yearning to build a world of peace. Unfortunately, for superpowers and small powers peace remains elusive.

Korea's providential course

The true owner of the world is God and until we attend God as the true owner, we cannot realize lasting peace. In particular, Heaven has raised and blessed the Republic of Korea. When he lay on the cross, Jesus prophesied that he would return to host the marriage supper of the Lamb. What does this mean? It means that Jesus' ideal was to become humankind's True Parent. It means he had to find God's only daughter, who was unable to emerge two thousand years ago. This only daughter could be found only in a nation Heaven had chosen and prepared. If those fail in their responsibilities, providential indemnity follows. All of us have learned through history about the tremendous indemnity that the people of Israel had to pay. Heaven's blessings come with responsibilities. For the Republic of Korea, it is the same. They have to be in a position in which they can fulfill their responsibilities. The nation has a long history. Throughout its long history, not a single decade passed without other nations invading it.

However, Koreans are known as peace loving citizens. This nation never invaded another nation. This year we mark a hundred years since democratic Christians and students participated in the March First Movement for this country's independence. Our righteous forefathers sacrificed greatly for our nation's independence.

As I mentioned, you need to know that God's only daughter, who could complete Heaven's providence had to be born amidst the Korean people. I was born in 1943. Korean liberation came in 1945. In 1950, this country was plunged into the Korean War. The North–South split pitted democracy against communism. But while democracy in South Korea was still developing its new order, the Korean War broke out. What happened next? We were in a situation for which South Korea's democracy was unprepared. As I mentioned earlier, in line with his principle of Creation, God gave people a period of time, a growth period.

The Korean War's significance

Until God's only daughter (who was born in 1943 and who must see the providence completed) had grown to a certain age, Heaven had to protect her. That is why, like a miracle, forces from sixteen UN member states came and shed their blood in a holy war. How grateful we must be for this! But since the Koreans do not know about God's providence, I am not sure they realize how grateful they should be. Nevertheless, I understood the providence, so since 1960 I have stood in the position of a True Parent. If the Christian environment had been prepared, we would already have accomplished the dream of one human family that God desired.

Originally, all humankind should have been God's sons or daughters. But due to the Fall, they could not become God's children. The providence that makes it possible for humankind to return to God's lineage is the Family Federation's blessing of couples, of which I'm sure you've aware. This blessing brings a change of spiritual lineage, one with no satanic connection. Confirming couples as part of Heavenly Parent's original lineage. While a miraculous blessing providence is taking place, unfortunately many people are still unaware of it.

Developments in Africa

Some of you gathered here today are people who have led an entire nation. Regarding healthy nations, they can only appear if the people have healthy families. This is why the Family Federation emphasizes families. This work has spread across the world over the five oceans to the six continents. In particular, during the past year, many miraculous events occurred on the African continent. One righteous prophet came to this country and learned about True Parents' births. He then made a pledge. He was facing trouble when he returned to his country. He is from Senegal, a largely Muslim country. We met the president of that country where we have no foundation and we held a summit there. Do you think this is the result of human efforts? As an indication of how desperate God is to embrace humanity as his children, bypassing many countries that had a better foundation, God gave his love through one righteous prophet from a Muslim nation. Today's people have now heard the answer.

Former US President George H.W. Bush, father of President George W. Bush, said that his greatest pain as president was his not having emphasized the importance of family values. In 1995, I was giving speeches in Japan about the true family movement. President Bush and Mrs. Barbara Bush came to Japan and gave speeches together with me. That's right.

What Korea needs most

The true family movement can solve all the problems facing our world today, which is why I went on speaking tours for many years. Heaven sent me many righteous, prepared prophets. How impatiently and urgently Heavenly Father is seeking for all 7.6 billion people on earth to realize this. When all of you eminent people here return home, please become messiahs for your nations! The road to a peaceful world, untroubled by conflict and war, begins with attending our Heavenly Parent and focusing on True Parents' teachings so that all nations become one family of true siblings under our Heavenly Parent. Where that can happen is precisely the kingdom of heaven on earth, which we are trying to build and for which our Heavenly Parent longs. I entreat you to accomplish this. You must not become a people whose light does not shine. God has blessed this nation! Our national anthem says, "God protect us forever." What happens if these people are unable to attend God? We have seen the history of the people who were unable to attend Jesus. Now in the age of the completion of the providence, what road must the Korean people must take? The reunification of the Koreas is good, but the higher priority for this country is to attend our Heavenly Parent. It has been said that the first shall be last and the last shall be first. Jesus died on the cross and he gave the keys to the kingdom of heaven to Peter. What does this mean? It means we must solve the misdirection here on earth. All of you who are living today must find True Parents who have appeared under Heaven's providence and live according to their teachings. This path to attend the eternal Heavenly Parent is humankind's only path. I ask you to join me in building a peaceful world of one human family attending our Heavenly Parent.

A Leader, as a Leader, Needs To Be Magnanimous and Understanding

The business area will have to produce and be successful, right? For that point on, those involved in business must achieve unity, all together and regardless of rank or position.

A leader, as a leader, needs to be magnanimous and understanding. If you are a leader, you must lead your staff so that everyone can grow and progress.

No perfect leader exists who possesses all the requisite skills. You often hear those in society say, "Study for life" and "Learn from children." You have to behave with that attitude in mind. People should not first think of themselves, nor think of their own benefits: Let's unite! Let's produce results that can cheer everyone up! That is the strongest force we have.

Am I not making efforts to help Africa and Asia? In any case, we must fulfill the dream of Hanul Bumo nim [God]. We have to make sure that God can fulfill what he originally desired to achieve, to embrace all humanity and be able to say to them, You are my children.

What I'm telling you is that companies should be involved. Be the best in your assigned area. Be an example to the world, in every respect, as a providential homeland, as God's homeland, as the homeland of the True Parents. Be an HJ Magnolia Foundation capable of contributing to a unified heavenly Korea!

There will not always be time. This is the final time to fulfill the providence. Do not become leaders who let this moment pass. To accomplish this, all organizations need to become one, to achieve unity.

How can there be several divisions if the goal is the same? These people must unite and demonstrate that unity through their deeds.

All of you have to humble yourselves. You must be humble. All you need to do is unite with True Parents, become one in heart, one in desire and one in behavior. For six thousand years, there has been a lack of filial piety toward our Heavenly Parent; therefore, at this time, we must fulfill our Heavenly Parent's dream.

True Parents have shown you everything. You can already see how things should be done. So, all of your achievements offered in the last moments of this year will be for the establishment of Cheon Il Guk, a new era! When everyone aligns here with the Republic of Korea as the central nation of the world, how much will the people of this country -- who have been under the darkness at the foot of a lamp -- thank you in tears? They will have to repent for not having cooperated with the heavenly providence before now. It is time to bring them to repentance. It should be this year. Do you understand? That's why we must unite. Do you have the confidence to do this? I bless you!

Most high and noble Heavenly Parent! I bow in front of You in infinite gratitude, within the infinite grace of the 6th year of Cheon Il Guk. The new year of the pig that we are welcoming marks the 100th anniversary of the day, in March 1919, Christian democrats and students shouted in front of the world for Korean independence, and brings us closer to the unification of this nation.

Though many righteous people and pioneers sincerely longed for the independence of this nation throughout its history, their devotion and effort could not prevent Korea from being divided into North and South. And we have come to the point where we see that political, religious, or human effort alone cannot undo this division. In particular, today, this people, whom You have since long ago embraced and raised until now to bring about the completion of the providence, must know about the truth of that history. The unification of Korea, which we so longed for, cannot come about based on human effort alone. The true unification of Korea can only take place from a position in which we attend God, our Heavenly Parent, Creator and the Owner of this universe, and in which we have received the Blessing of the True Parents.

I sincerely pray that humankind today will come to realize that the only way to establish the world with no war or conflict that all people have sought to realize, and the only way to bring down all man-made barriers, including the religious, cultural, and racial barriers, is through You, God, the true Owner of this universe and our Creator, and that without welcoming the perfected True Parents, who have come to realize Your wish and dream, in this fallen world, people cannot become Your sons and daughters. Through the past that You have shown us, please enable this people to understand that only when Korea is unified and fulfills its responsibility as a people blessed by Heaven, and becomes a heavenly unified Korea that attends Heavenly Parent, will this people have a future and have hope. With only one year left until 2020, the year in relation to which the 20,000 blessed families here today made their commitment before Heaven, I sincerely pray that this nation will become a central nation in front of the world that fulfills its responsibility as a people who know who the true Owner is, and as a blessed people who are citizens of Cheon Il Guk.

Heavenly Parent! I offer You my sincere gratitude for the infinite love and grace You have showed this people, remaining with them amid numerous hardships and difficulties. This people now need to know. This people must not become a people that misses the time of the completion of the providence.

Two thousand years ago, You sent Jesus Christ through the people of Israel, whom you had raised for 4,000 years. The people of Israel, however, did not know the essence of Jesus, and thus they paved the way for his tragic crucifixion. What happened to this people? They were dispersed and lived without a country for two thousand years. During World War II, 6 million were massacred. We all know about the history of indemnity they had to go through. This is the consequence that befalls a people that fails to welcome the True Parents of humankind, whom Heaven prepared to send through investing much effort over time.

Heaven chose the Korean people and made preparations to send His only begotten daughter, who would complete the providence. Despite the hardships it was going through, this people continued to hold on to You, our God in Heaven. You know the pain of a people without a nation.

At a time when democracy in South Korea stood helpless as the Korean War raged, we saw a miracle of God in the sending of the UN forces and the protection of democracy. Just as You gave all people a period of growth in accordance with Your principles of creation, You protected me, Your only begotten daughter, until I reached adulthood.

As a result, in 1960, we could take our position as the True Parents. Without the Christian foundation to support us, True Parents had to start from the very bottom. And I thank You from the bottom of my heart for Your work and for the infinite protection you provided us during the ensuing 50 years until we could establish a foundation across the world. Since Your Will must be accomplished without fail, the True Parents, who have borne that responsibility, have invested their everything for that until now.

As we will usher in the final year of the Chinese 60-year calendar cycle (cycle of ten heavenly trunks and twelve earthly branches) and prepare to begin a whole new cycle with the year of the rat in 2020, this people must accept Heaven's Blessing, build a nation that fulfills its responsibility, and build a nation of whom Heavenly Parent can proudly say, "Truly, this is my homeland where my beloved sons and daughters live." As the people that Heavenly Parent is to work through and a nation that is to become Heaven's homeland, all the blessed families that have gathered here today should completely invest themselves in educating its people so that our country can stand strong as God's homeland in front of the world as God desires. When all people in this nation, without exception, receive the Blessing and Heavenly Parent can wholly embrace our country, what will there be to worry about?

I sincerely pray that all blessed families will become proud blessed families of the Unificationist community that, through this people, can show the world the realization of the dream of one great family under Heavenly Parent, a dream that this people and the world have longed to see come true.

O Heavenly Parent! Though this people remains inadequate in front of Your tremendous and infinite grace, I pray and proclaim in front of You, Heavenly Parent, and in front of this people and world, that Korea will do its best to accomplish Your dream without fail. Aju!

The new year, the year of the pig, which we are welcoming, marks the one hundredth anniversary of the day, in March 1919, that Christian proponents of democracy and students shouted in front of the world for Korean independence, and this brings us closer to the unification of this nation.

Though many righteous people and pioneers sincerely longed for the independence of this nation throughout its history, their devotion and efforts could not prevent the division of Korea into North Korea and South Korea. And we have come to the point where we see that neither political, religious nor human effort alone can undo this division. In particular, today, this people, whom you have from long ago embraced and raised until now to bring about the completion of the providence, must know the truth of that history. Korea's unification, which we so yearn for, cannot take place through human efforts alone. The true unification of Korea can only take place under circumstances in which we attend God, our Heavenly Parent, the Creator, the owner of the universe, and in which we have received the blessing from True Parents.

I sincerely pray that humankind today will come to realize that the only way to establish a world without war or conflict that all people have sought to achieve, and the only way to bring down all man-made barriers, including religious, cultural, and racial barriers, is through you, God, the universe's true owner and our Creator, and that without welcoming the perfected True Parents, who have come to realize your wish and dream, in this fallen world, people cannot become your sons or daughters. Based on the past, which you have shown us, please enable this nation to understand that only when Korea is unified and fulfills its responsibilities as a people blessed by Heaven and becomes a heavenly unified Korea that attends Heavenly Parent will this nation have a future and have hope. With only a year left until 2020 -- the year in relation to which the twenty thousand blessed families here today made their commitment to Heaven -- I sincerely pray that this nation becomes a central nation in front of the world and one that fulfills its responsibilities as a people who know who the true owner is, and as a blessed people, are citizens of Cheon Il Guk. I offer you my sincere gratitude for the infinite love and grace you have shown this people, remaining with them amid numerous hardships and difficulties. This people now needs to know. This people must become a people that longs for the time of the completion of the providence.

Two thousand years ago, you sent Jesus Christ through the people of Israel, whom you had raised for four thousand years. The people of Israel, however, did not know Jesus' essence, and thus they paved the way for his tragic crucifixion. What happened to this people? They dispersed and lived without a country for two thousand years. World War II saw the massacre of six million. We all know of the history of indemnity they had to go through. This consequence befalls a people that fails to welcome the True Parents of humankind, whom Heaven prepared to send through investing much effort over time.

Heaven chose the Korean people and prepared to send God's only daughter, who would complete the providence. Despite the hardships they were going through, this nation continued to hold on to you, our God in heaven. You know the pain of a people without a nation. At a time when democracy in South Korea stood helpless as the Korean War raged, we saw a miracle from God in the sending of the UN Forces and in the protection of our democracy. Just as you gave all people a period of growth in accordance with your principles of creation, you protected me, your only daughter, until I reached adulthood. As a result, in 1960, we could take our positions as the True Parents.

Without the Christian foundation to support us, True Parents had to start from the very bottom. And I thank you sincerely for your work and for the infinite protection that you provided us during the ensuing fifty years until we could establish a foundation across the world. Since your will must be accomplished without fail, to this day, the True Parents, who have borne that responsibility, have invested their utmost effort for that.

As we will usher in the final year of the Chinese sixty-year calendar cycle and prepare to begin a new cycle with the year of the rat in 2020, this nation must accept Heaven's blessing, become a nation that fulfills its responsibilities and a nation of whom Heavenly Parent can proudly say, Truly, this is my homeland where my beloved sons and daughters live.

This being a nation that Heavenly Parent is to work through and a nation that is to become Heaven's homeland, all the blessed families that have gathered here today should completely invest themselves in educating its people so that our country can stand strong as God's homeland in front of the world, as God desires. When all people in this nation, without exception, receive the blessing, Heavenly Parent can wholly embrace our country, so what will there be to worry about? I sincerely pray that all blessed families become proud blessed families of the Unificationist community that through this nation can show the world the realization of the dream of one great family under Heavenly Parent, a dream that this nation and the world have longed to see come true.

O Heavenly Parent! Though this nation remains inadequate in front of your tremendous and infinite grace, I pray and proclaim in front of you, Heavenly Parent, and in front of this nation and world, that Korea will do its best to accomplish your dream without fail.

True Mother’s Speech at the National Prayer to Open the Era for a Unified, Heavenly Korea

The following is an official translation of True Mother’s speech at the National Prayer to Open the Era for a Unified, Heavenly Korea on January 1, 2019 at the Cheongshim Peace World Center.

Beloved blessed families and members here and watching through the live broadcast around the world: I love you! I proclaim that we are proud blessed families standing at the forefront who will absolutely fulfill our Heavenly Parent’s dream and what humanity has longed for.

Heaven’s providence is astonishing. There are twelves signs in the Chinese zodiac. This year [of the pig] is the last year of the cyclical rotation of the zodiac signs. In 2020, a new cycle will begin. Although you have gone through difficult circumstances, among our blessed families in Korea, several of you have ancestors whom you can be proud of, since they pioneered our nation. Unfortunately, they did not fully understand Heaven’s providence.

All of humanity yearns for a peaceful world, but not even once throughout the six thousand years of biblical history was there an era without war or conflicts. That is because our beginning was steered incorrectly. We know what caused the Fall. Since we know the cause, we must educate those who are unaware of it. The original owner of the universe is the Creator, God. There are more than 200 nations in today’s world. Large and small nations want to possess the universe’s resources for themselves. However, nothing belongs to them. The Creator, God is the owner. Unless God recognizes a nation, that nation cannot claim anything for itself. Only people, who are in the position of God’s children, can possess what God bequeaths to them.

We need to help people understand God. Our Creator God made all things in heaven and on earth and then created a man and a woman capable of becoming humankind’s good ancestors. He gave them special privileges. During their growth period, they were to grow in absolute unity with God; after receiving God’s blessing, they would have been in the position of humankind’s true ancestors, the True Parents, in whom God would have dwelt substantially. God bequeathed this blessing to them, but they lost the qualifications to become humanity’s true, good ancestors. Therefore, God had no choice but to carry out restoration through indemnity and the history of the providence of salvation.

How difficult must it have been for God to send His only begotten son, whom He could call “My son,” after a period of four thousand years when nobody understood Jesus—not Mary, who had conceived Jesus, nor the central figures at that time, nor even the people of Israel. The belief of today’s two-thousand-year-old Christianity is that Christians will receive salvation through the blood of the cross. After Jesus was crucified, he said he would return, and when he returned, he would host the marriage supper of the Lamb. If there had been someone wise, that person would have searched for where, when, and how the only begotten daughter, who was to become Jesus’ partner, would be born.

God is an omnipotent and omniscient being. His beginning and end are the same. So, God must absolutely be victorious. However, giving humans special privileges became problematic, so God waited for six thousand years for the True Parents to arise from fallen humanity to bring victory back to God. In the midst of waiting, God blessed this peninsula, the Republic of Korea. In that case, shouldn’t the citizens of the Republic of Korea receive True Parents’ blessing? You have to fulfill your responsibilities. With blessings come responsibilities. If you are not able to fulfill those responsibilities, the indemnity owed will increase.

One year is the time we have left. Do you understand? In the year of the Pig, we will achieve national restoration without fail! Please push for the citizens of the Republic of Korea to qualify as citizens of Cheon Il Guk.
