Even if you experience lonely time periods when you feel you have no power within, you should not get discouraged. You should know through such periods you could overcome the valleys of your life. A border in the valley is the midpoint of the valley. The larger the valley, the wider is the bottom of the valley. You will experience a lonely time when you alone pass through the expanse of the bottom of the large valley. When you are there, neither God nor Satan can interfere with you. You must pass through it all by yourself. Like a boat has to navigate through sunken rocks in dark night, you must face such a dangerous time. You want to gut it out, but you have no power left in you. Then you will be overcome with the feeling that God has forsaken you. You are so bewildered that you cannot tell if God really even exists.

The question is how can you overcome such a time? You must remind yourself of a past time when you were filled with joy because of the grace and blessings you received from God, as if you were a bee that was intoxicated with nectar. You need to have such experiences. God who protected me in the past when I faced difficulty is my loving Parent. I am without a doubt God's child. No matter how curved and contorted the road your travel takes you, in the end God will put you in the position to fulfill the purpose of His love. This is absolutely true, no matter what.

A reason why God lets you go through this process is that He wants you to realize something very important and very significant. For that reason, God gives you this kind of time period. It is not that God is blocking the way so that you must face this lonely period. If you face a period of loneliness, you must overcome the period with faith that is rooted in the conviction that God loves you from your personal standard -- that God has been protecting you and encouraging you. In spite of what people may say, you must overcome such a lonely period. You cannot depend on anyone. You must not be discouraged even if you fall into the position where no one recognizes you.

When you are lonely, you must realize that God too must be agonizing, since He has to place you, His loving child, in such a position of loneliness. Do you agree with this? God is in the same position as parents who anguish over their child as they helplessly see their child suffering. Realizing this, as you go through this lonely period, God will be filled with a great desire to love you even more. However, He cannot give you love because it is a time you have to go through alone.

So, you should know as soon as you go through the lonely course, God's love will reach to you. So, you must go through the period with this faith. You should know once you overcome that, you will definitely receive great blessings. After you experience this several times, you will never doubt God's Will nor wonder about your destiny even though you are over and over going through a lonely course, or being placed in a lonely position. In this way, you will learn the process for going through a lonely period.

Suppose your personal power is limited to 100, how can you gain greater power than 100? Only a path of prayer will provide the power.

You may plan this way this year, and you will do that way in the next year. Of course, no one should do less than the previous year. Doing less than the previous year means you are going backward! With a new program that propels you to advance and move forward this year compared with the last year, you should determine firmly in your mind internally.

Your ability is to a certain degree determined. Therefore, in order to progress and achieve greater goals next year, you must find where you can gain greater than 100% of the power that you have. Since you are physically limited to the 100% power you have, the only way to gain greater power is through the path of prayer. The greater the plans you make, the deeper and more serious heart you must have, so that your capacity will expand accordingly. Remember that God is always with you. Should you have such an attitude internally, you can inspire your mind constantly. You must do it. If you do not, someone else must do it. So, it is of great importance in your life, how you can pioneer a way of inspiring and stimulating your mind in such a way, daily.

Some time, you will experience spiritually a dry time. Even though you try to pray, sometimes in your life, you cannot pray no matter how hard you try. You may try as hard as you can for a week. Maybe, such time can last for a month or even more than a half a year. In your life of faith, you must go through a time of deep struggle within yourself for a long time. But such a time is not bad. The longer you struggle to overcome such a time, the greater the amount of God's grace that will eventually be visited upon you. Everything is relative like above-below and left-right, so God's grace and blessings will definitely reach you.

The Master's Message To The Unification Family All Over The World

I want to say a few words to the Unification Family all over the world. It is we in the Unification movement who have more important missions and responsibilities than anyone else in the history of mankind. The purpose of God and the hope of mankind have not been completely fulfilled, despite our dedicated endeavors of past years. Without us, the enemy of God and humanity cannot be judged. Considering the significance of our position, we cannot help but realize that our responsibility is greater than the responsibility of anyone at any time throughout history. It was originally God's desire to establish His own cosmos, nation, family, and the individual for good alone in a world of love and peace; but God failed completely because of the fall of man. This is the reason there has never been a true individual, family, nation, world or a true cosmos. Instead, sorrow has prevailed everywhere and God has been working hard to restore to this world true joy and true love. Although our forefathers worked also for restoration; they did not know how each individual, family, nation or the whole world would be restored in accordance with God's purpose and idea. Since I discovered this, I have been struggling in order to restore all in accordance with God's heart and will.

After I discovered the Divine Principles, I realized that all mankind desperately needed them, and that God's purpose of creation cannot be fulfilled without them. In order to accomplish my goal, I realized that I had to bear the greatest burden, across that no one else was capable of bearing, and that I would have to take the hardest path that heaven and earth has ever known. From then on, I had to struggle at the lowest level in the spirit world and overcome it. On earth I had to serve people from the lowest level humbly, thus subjugating Satan step by step and obtaining victory. my battle is not completed. Each one in our Principle Family must realize how hard our battle has been and is being waged.

One individual has been sought to bear the hopes of heaven with whom God could communicate heart to heart, to be the sole object of Divine hope. When this individual is found, a family, a nation, a world and cosmos can be restored for the first time. When this individual wins victory, he wins it for heaven and earth and not for just himself, and brings about cosmic victory. When a family wins victory centered upon this individual, then a national foundation of restoration is laid. When a national victory is obtained centered upon this individual, a universal and cosmic victory will be obtained. You realize that I have been struggling with a mission of restoring a family and a nation. Therefore, our Principle Family all over the world have been united centered upon me, transcending national and regional barriers, and the differences in culture and the way of living. When we are united in one by this ideal, we must bring about unity in action, unity in living, and unity in heart. This is the reason you often feel my sorrow and joy as your own, This experience must be inherited by future generations which follow. In order to have them do so, we are responsible to start a new historic tradition. This tradition must start from the individual level and go to the level of the family, to the nation, to the world, and to that of the cosmos.

In order to reach our goal, we have been struggling in a three year course and a four year course. In our sight, we have been following the pattern of struggle against Satan that God had set for us. We know the position God has taken.

He with the Father's heart assumed a servant's position and has been shedding tears for humanity, sweat for the earth, and blood for heaven. This is the pattern that God has been working, through many of His servants in history. Following His footsteps, humbly in service, and taking servant's positions, we have to shed our blood, sweat and tears in order to be one in heart with our True Father and Mother. Heaven has been seeking us. Now we are seeking heaven. The tears, sweat and blood that were shed on the way to meet, are our participation of heavenly tears, sweat, and blood. Therefore, our sorrow and suffering are not. just our own, but that of heaven. We have been fighting for a goal, to participate in the suffering of God. Our final goal is to subjugate Satan on our individual level and the levels of the family, the nation, and the universe. And finally we establish a blessed land where God may dwell with us. This is the goal of our living and the purpose of all our struggles.

Since our enemy and God's is still on earth, wherever we are here in Korea, America, Japan, or in Germany, each one of us must destroy Satan from one's own nation. This you all know and are doing. This enemy is the one who trample upon our True Parents, brothers, sisters and our true nation and the world, and even upon God Himself. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the children to avenge God's enemy by destroying him and 'offering a world of peace and love to God. This we must pray consciously while we are awake, and subconsciously while we are asleep. For the accomplishment of all this, let us arise. Serving our True Parents, we become a True Family and must seek, our true nation and establish our true cosmos. We must fulfill the original purpose of God's creation, regardless of how great a sacrifice may be required of us. This is the reason our responsibilities and missions are so great. Therefore, I am sure that those who are pioneering in new mission fields or doing other activities will have all kinds of problems and difficulties. Endure them remembering what our Father has endured, and what your Leader has gone through. When you get exhausted and discouraged, when you feel like withdrawing, remember my long struggle and tiring battle, and rise again, for I am not yet tired., nor am I yet discouraged.

Go forward -- step by step. Renew your courage and boldly attack the enemy's camp, for you are Heavenly Father's warriors representing heaven and earth. Let us offer to the Father a restored heaven and earth with victory and glory for endless ages. Let us make this world full of true love and happiness -- as He had originally planned. I urge you to fight with me for this with your single hearted dedication. I send love and blessing to my Family throughout the world.

Proper Behavior between Spouses

We are not focused on the individual but on the family. Still, we are not trying to solve everything based only on the family. Rather, we should connect everything to the family. Hence, the endeavors made in the past while cultivating a solitary life of spirituality are not enough now. To this you should also add your own determination and resolution to exert yourself much more than you did in the past. In an instant, a life of challenging evil can easily leave one fatigued and lead one to retreat. When you have a family, you should work much harder than when you were single.

The family is in the central position. We cannot avoid reality. You should establish relationships of front and back, left and right, top and bottom in your family. It will not do to have the kind of faith that existed in the past. That kind of one-sided attitude in faith that you had in the past will not work.

You should stand in a straight line with God at least during morning Pledge service. It is a truly serious hour. You should repent if you are even one second late. You should also prepare some candy as holy food, like you would for Holy Communion, and share it with your children.

When you were alone, everything came to pass when you prayed. However, if there is a person opposing you in the family, you should bear the cross and persevere until you reach the original standard. Alone, you are like one car of a train and the family is like a locomotive. It is simple to restore an individual's mistake. But if there is a mistake in the family, it brings ruin.

You should pray even while doing your laundry or walking down the road. You should constantly fill up your storehouse; it should never be empty.

If you destroy yourself that's one thing, but a family should not be destroyed. The wife is the most needed person in the world for her husband, and the husband is the most needed person in the world for his wife. You should be each other's walking stick and comrade, advising each other.

When the parents make serious efforts not to deviate from the heavenly way, the children will never be disobedient.

Without leading a life of constant prayer, you cannot go the way of God's will. Do not think of money in your daily life; you should first think about God's will.

The wife of a leader should not nag her husband when he is about to leave for work in the morning. The feelings in his heart that arise due to his wife's nagging will be like waves; they will be very disturbing. His disturbed heart can affect the whole world. If women are going to nag, then they should nag at night, and then all the problems will be solved overnight. Men go out to battle in the morning. The wife of this kind of husband should wake up early and serve him well.

You should offer a prayer of gratitude even if you are strongly chastised by your husband, saying, "How can I expect my husband never to reprimand me? Thank you."

Women should always be beautiful, even if it requires using makeup and perfume. A wife should not be emotionally indebted to her husband, and she should always concern herself with her husband's body and clothes. When a husband looks tired after returning home, she should prepare the water to wash his face and things to brush his teeth, and be able to wash his feet and comb his hair. A woman's smile is the flower of the family. In order to establish a harmonious family, the woman should be a first-class actress of both comedy and tragedy. She should completely captivate her husband all the time, whether he is joyful or sad.

A woman should change her clothes at least once every three days. She should also wash her hair that often. She should always smile. A smile is a flower of the mind. Always keep your flowers in bloom and give off a sweet fragrance. A woman should test her partner's response to her hairstyle and makeup. If you cannot bring joy to your partner with your facial or external appearance, you should do so through your interests even if you have to mobilize all the arts, such as music. You may research women's physiology by looking at magazines or explain to him about literature after reading several books. Make your husband live like a child who is enfolded in your skirt.

Pray. Prayer is your heart's storehouse. If you do not have time, you should at least pray while doing your work.

Once a husband and wife meet, they should be together, holding each other's hands, whether they are going the way of life or death. Since you are to go together, you should do so with style.

Prayer: Please Allow Us to Realize Through Experience the Existence of Our Father Who Is Always Near Us

We must not think of you as a concept, Father. Please let us understand clearly that we must attend you as a real being, as the absolute subject of all aspects of our life.

You have not been living in some distant relative world. You have been in the middle of our hearts and you have surrounded our bodies. Although there is air all around us, just as we don't know whether it is there or not, we must realize that we didn't realize that you were embracing our entire lives.

When we receive that power which is surrounding us an infinite power is being mobilized there, and we know that when we absorb that power as an eternal power it gives us a new impact and a new stimulation.

We must become sons and daughters who are able to realize through experience the existence of our father who always stays near us like that and gives us life and is always filling us. We must come to realize how precious is the person who knows how to discuss his life course with you from such a position and from such a position can grow as your child.

Many people on the earth hope for heavenly fortune and hope about the rest of their lives, but we know that they are hoping for these things keeping a relative distance from them. But different from them please allow us to clearly understand that all the authority of life begins from the closest point, from you who are the center of life. In order to do that, please remain close deep in our hearts, Father, and by taking dominion over our bodies, please become the motive power of our lives, and we must realize the fact that you must become the origin of all our feelings.

Please allow us to realize how great and how precious is the value of a child who can attend our father who is the subject of wide, deep, sublime, precious, infinite value. When we go out to witness to that standard tens of millions, billions of times please allow us to realize the fact that the inherent authority to be able to absorb all the content of heaven and to take dominion over the cosmos comes into being then. We have humbly prayed these things in the name of the True Parents. Amen.

Prayer: Please allow us to establish the unified nation

Beloved Father! Today is the ninth anniversary of Children's Day. Please let Your love dwell with the children who are sincerely praying for this day throughout the nation, facing this place. As You look at the Unification Church members, please be patient with this nation and its people who have caused You to feel sad. Please command the members to carry out a new historic mission; may they become a people who are not inadequate to serve as the laborers for a new age.

We know that with us lies the responsibility to realize, without fail, a day of victory, a day on which You can gain direct dominion over all nations spread throughout the world, centering on Korea. Father! Please bless all the people by reaching out to them with Your holy, loving hands through this special opportunity today. And please bless not only humankind here on earth, but also the numerous people who followed Your Will and the countless people in the spirit world who have died for the Will in the course of history up until now.

I know that they are destined to go the unavoidable path that still remains ahead of them, the course of indemnity that must be walked through returning resurrection on earth, and please let them make connections with us from behind the scenes, based on the activities of the Unification Church and our own actions today. By so doing, we earnestly hope and desire that You will allow the many people in the spirit world to unite with us, and even their descendants to unite with us substantially, so that we may establish the unified nation that You desire.

All Your children scattered around the world are also commemorating this day. So, I earnestly hope and pray that, through them, You will carry out Your direct initiative and work in the nations where they reside, and thus establish the authority of resurrection and set the condition of victory through which to embrace all peoples in Your bosom.

As of today, please allow Your desired Will to spread out across the world in earnest, through the horizontal route based on Korea. We sincerely hope and pray that You will establish this day as the one day of glory, one day of pride, and one day of joy, and allow it to be a day on which Your children can receive Your Blessing and be embraced in the midst of Your grace.

There are some of Your children who cannot be present today, so we sincerely hope and pray that You will bless them as well. We earnestly hope and desire that You will personally lead the work of liberation for our numerous ancestors, who have lived and died while taking responsibility during the course of restoration, through which they sacrificed themselves for Your Will, Father, and thereby allow what is realized on earth to be realized in heaven as well.

I hope and pray that You will allow all Your children to become true children based on their relationship to True Parents, to build true families based on being true children, and based on those true families, to expand into true tribes, true peoples, true nations, a true world and a true cosmos. Please guide us, so that we can race forward more energetically on the course of indemnity that remains for the rest of this year.

In the 1970s, permit each and every one of us to fulfill the important mission we have been entrusted with, that is, our mission toward our people and our responsibility as Your children. I sincerely hope and pray that You will guide everything to go well according to Your Will.

I earnestly hope, Father, that on this day, You will place us at the center of Your Will and protect us. As we begin this first hour, please guide us in glory until the last. I have sincerely prayed in the holy name of True Parents. Aju!

Our Attitude in the Face of Death

When people die, who do they first call upon? They call out to God. The ultimate reality is that people will seek God when they find themselves in the most difficult position. The way to forgiveness can be opened for those who sincerely call upon God at the time of death. Why is that so? It is because such is the way of death. If you can die keeping close to this principle, then the path to resurrection will be opened.

That is why when death comes to people, they all seek God saying, "O my God!" This is the truest of all lessons. When a person dies, he usually dies at least saying the right thing. When we observe this, we can see that the person was properly educated, though we may not know who taught him. Nothing truer than this can be said.

We should form a four position foundation before we die. Those who die without establishing a four position foundation will not be able to walk the path of death properly. Thus, spirits come and go even after death. As you all know this principle, who will you hold on to when you die? First, you will hold on to God, then True Parents. As we are all born through God, we should also die through Him in order to live eternally with God in the spirit world. We were born through God; hence, we should bring our life to a conclusion through Him. Living by this principle is the way of filial piety and the path of loyalty.

We arrive at the conclusion that a person who fulfills his duty of filial piety and loyalty has fulfilled the responsibilities that he must carry out in the course of his life. You should live life in this way.

What will you focus on at the time of your death? Will you die forgetting all about love or will you die embracing it? Whose love will you hold on to when you die? You must first hold on to parental love. Then you should hold on to the love between husband and wife, and then children's love. Death must also conform to the principle of the four position foundation.

The question is, what will your last words to your children be? What will your last words be? Can you as a parent tell your children to do something that you yourself never practiced? The intentions of those parents would be just to exploit their children. Therefore, if all of you first can practice what you believe in and tell your children before you die, "I lived this way without shame. You should also live like this," then God will protect your last words for eternity. Are you confident that you can leave such words behind to your descendants when you die? This is a serious matter.
