October is the month of liberation and hope. Today is the first day of October. We should be able to proudly report each day of our lives in front of Heaven. I report my daily life to Heaven in the same manner. Before I begin to do something, I report it first. I say I am about to start something for this or that reason, please bestow on me the wisdom to do so. I am a mother. A mother does not take the side of only one son. Do you know that? This is common knowledge in the world. You are indeed deeply blessed. Being able to meet me alone shows how blessed you are. You must grow. Aju!

We receive 200 percent of necessary nutrients for the body and soul through Hoon Dok Hae. Am I right? Doesn't it invigorate you? We should not keep it to ourselves; we should be able to disseminate it. After doing Hoon Dok Hae, your day must be one of sharing. Your life should be able to bring new life to others. You must be able to yield fruit. Having worship services that transcend religion is good. You must clearly teach people that they must attend True Parents and advance. All religions, ideological groups or institutions have great people, but all of them are advancing towards one goal, which is to attend True Parents. There cannot be many religions in one world of peace, a united world. We must attend only True Parents. You must push forward in this manner. You must speak out in this manner. You must teach that this is the only way to have true freedom and peaceful unification.

You have probably heard about second-generation leaders being educated down the hill just now. This education is essential for this age. All first-generation and second-generation educators must become one. We must become one and the tribe, people and nation of an individual must be united. We are living in an age of equality. No matter what position you may be holding now, your hearts should all be ready to unite.

Do you know that True Father chose the United States instead of Korea in order to achieve global restoration? That is why he worked hard in the United States for thirty-four years. This was because human civilization throughout the world was influenced by Christianity. In addition, the United States of America was founded based on the great Christian spirit of Puritans and the Pilgrim Fathers to worship God. That is why Heaven held them and set them up. Today, the United States leads the world despite its short two hundred years history.

In those days, they lacked the ship technology we possess today. Hence, you can imagine their hearts, risking their lives in order to find freedom of religion on a new continent. Even though food ran low onboard the ship, the Pilgrims kept some seeds aside thinking of the future after they landed. Upon landing, the first thing they did was build a church where they could serve God and a school through which they could educate their descendants. It was only after they finished constructing these that they built their own houses. Heaven regarded their effort as precious, cherishing and embracing the United States in love as he set it up as a nation. The United States was supposed to embrace the world, but was falling ill. Hence, True Father went on a speaking tour of all fifty states in the early days of our church. In his speeches, he said he had come as a doctor because America had become ill. He said that America was on fire, suffering indescribable pain at seeing its youth wasted through involvement with drugs and that he had therefore come as a firefighter. He aimed his efforts at saving the United States.

Why was True Father trying to save America? It was because he had come as the True Parents and had to embrace the world. In addition, the era prepared to welcome the Messiah had been ushered in, but all countries were unaware of it. We are not siblings meant to fight with one another. Don't we have to meet the parents, whom we have awaited for six thousand years to attend in true love? Don't you have to unite once you listen to your parents' teachings? The United States was the nation that played an intercessory role.

After 1975, True Father dispatched missionaries to the world from three nations including the United States, Europe, with the majority from Germany, and Japan. While dispatching missionaries, Father also educated leader-types that would lead the United States. It was then that Father first called the group "top gun." This group might today be called an elite unit, a group that educated key figures. Those in this group are in their sixties or seventies now. Some participants are in their eighties now. Unfortunately, the second-generation realm that is to carry on this tradition is weak. That is regrettable. What should we do about it? If I also give up, your future will end up being miserable too. We will not live for eternity anyway. The spiritual world is our hometown. Earthly life is a time when we should equip ourselves with all the conditions needed to go to our hometown. However, we seem incapable of being part of the center, even on earth and are too self-absorbed.

You must all become devoted sons or daughters of True Parents at all costs. Do you understand? You should also unite with your brothers and sisters through true love. Don't parents actually worry more about a half-witted child? Aren't they more concerned about that one? They worry more about the less capable child than the capable one. You have all raised children. You all probably relate to this heart. Please do not justify fights in the name of True Parents in front of us. Have a greater heart. If you could set up your brothers and sisters, give them opportunities, our foundation, our assets would grow. People are also assets. The deep connection that closely binds us as a true family centered on True Parents is something none but us have.

This deep connection has formed for the first time after six thousand years. We should be able to show that proudly in our lives. How much have you proudly showed it off? If True Parents are removed from the church, the school or the institutions, they do not have any existence anymore. One most precious treasure that others -- society, other organizations, the government -- does not have is True Parents. You are True Parents' children. Once this era passes, those in the next era will greatly envy you. How great everything becomes will depend on how wide, deep and high an environment you create centered on God's will. Do you understand?

We must be able to follow the good points of our brothers and sisters. Don't we all have one goal -- one world, a unified world under God, under our Heavenly Parent and the True Parents of I leaven, Earth and Humankind? Do you understand? As we look ahead to 2020, don't you think it is time for us to oil our efforts even more? Don't you think we should accelerate our efforts? How can we achieve what we could not do for forty years within the remaining six years? We should work on creating an environment and do so with more effort than the president or government of your country. We have immense spiritual power. Don't you feel it? You must become people that can feel it.

That is why I am training second-generation top guns. Father did the same. After he made the determination to follow this path, Father made the goal to have complete control over himself before desiring to rule the cosmos. You are all familiar with Father's personality. Imagine how hot-blooded he would have been when he was young. This shows us how much Father had to restrain himself for the liberation of God, the salvation of humanity and the providence of restoration through indemnity.

Some leaders are also here. Do not be conceited for having high positions. You must be able to look down and look to the side. From this perspective, I am once more making the preparations needed to equip ourselves. The time for us to practice the faith by which we were loyal to Heaven and a life of living for the sake of others through true love has come. This is how you can gain moral excellence for your children and for your descendants. True Parents have been living in this manner. Why can't we follow them as children? When it comes to the whole, you must all become one in front of the will that everyone desires accomplished, no matter how high or low your positions are. Only by doing that can all discontent and complaints disappear, and our neighborhood, society and world become happy and free. Do you understand?

You may face difficulties at this very moment, but I would like to ask you to think bigger. Please think big. We have waited for True Parents for six thousand years. One year has passed since Father ascended; you must be able to live a life clearly testifying about True Parents.

I can also go to the spiritual world at any time. Think of how pitiful mankind, which comprises more than seven billion people, is. They live in the same age as True Parents, yet they do not know them and live in difficulty, wandering around without hope. These people are your brothers and sisters. Do you understand?

Show pride and dignity of being True Parents' children to those closest to you first. Dignity... Instead of feeling proud about eating well and wearing good clothes, we should be proud of having the most precious and the best gems among all true gems. Though you have this most precious gem, you have not been proud of it. Don't you all like gems? Do you understand? You must witness hard. You must make sure that every person without exception in your neighborhood knows about True Parents. You must be able to show it.

Leaders are important, but it is also important that each of you and your families make the determination to achieve everything within this generation. I hope that today is the day you and your families push forward and make this determination.

Approximately 200 members from Seoul area participated in the meeting, which started at 6:00 am. True Mother came in the room; Mrs. McDevitt read Cheon Seong Gyeong; True Mother told Rev. Yook Hyeon Joo, who is the Gang Nam regional leader, to share his testimony on their witnessing activities.

In his testimony, Yook Hyeon Joo said "We became united in heart, senior members lead the activities, and all were aligned with Vision 2020. Since we ran a well-organized witnessing project holding two services, one bigger, one smaller, I think we could become a model region in activities."

After this testimony, True Mother gave encouraging words to the participants: "Puritans crossed the ocean to go to the new continent looking for religious freedom. The first thing they did after they stepped on the new land was to build the church where they could attend Heaven, and the school where they could educate later generations. After that, they built their own houses." Then True Mother asked them to leave the seeds for the sake of later generations, as the Puritans did.

She also said "The US, being united with True Parents after having listened to the truth was supposed to be in the role of mediator. But the US became sick, and so from 1975, True Parents educated, at East Garden, young people from all over the world. At that time, Father gave those young members, who would lead the US, the title 'Top Gun.' In those days, those members were an elite contingent and now they are over 60, 70, even 80 years old. But it is regrettable that the foundation of the 2nd gen who will succeed them is weak. When we think of the Vision 2020, it is time for us to speed up in the providence. That's why I am now training 2nd gen Top Guns." She asked both 1st and 2nd gens to inherit the vision and tradition that True Father gave and to become Top Guns who can realize the Vision 2020.

She also said, "Our daily life should be something we can be proud of in front of Heaven. Your Hoon Dok Hae on a daily basis needs to be followed by a life of 'sharing.' There shouldn't be any neighbors around you who don't know True Parents. You, yourself, must be determined with your family to realize God's will in your generation and start every day with such commitment."

"October is the month of liberation and hope, isn't it? Today is the first day of October. Our daily life should be a life that we can proudly report in front of Heaven. I am always reporting to Heaven and that is my life. When I plan to do something, I report it to Heaven first, saying 'I am going to do this because of this and that reason. Please give me wisdom.'

I am a mother, who won't be partial to one child. You know it, do you? Everybody knows it. You are really blessed. You are really fortunate people simply because you could meet me. You should grow big!

Through Hoon Dok, you will spiritually and physically receive 200% nutrition. You shouldn't hold it only within you. You should multiply it. Your daily Hoon Dok must be followed by a life of sharing. A new life needs to be resurrected through you. You should bring a harvest. You should make it bear fruit.

It is good to have the Sunday service teaching going beyond religious thought. You should teach clearly that one needs to live attending True Parents. All religions and ideologies, even there are magnificent people who advocate them, have the same goal, which is to attend True Parents. There should not be various religions in the world of peace and unification. Everyone needs to do is to attend True Parents. You need to educate people that way. You need to educate them that this is the way for them to realize the world of freedom, peace and unification.

You have heard that the education has been going on with 2nd gen Top Guns, haven't you? This education is very important in this time period. All 1st and 2nd gens who are in charge of education must be united. We need to become one, and then we need to be united with our tribe, race and nation. No matter what kind of position you have, you should have the attitude in your heart that you can become united.

You know Father chose the US, not Korea, for the restoration of the whole world. That's why Father worked hard for 34 years in the US. Christian civilization dominates the world, and the US is the nation which was established by the Puritans, Pilgrim Fathers, who worshiped God. That's why Heaven established the US through them. Within a brief period of 200 years, the US came to be in the positon to lead the world. They didn't have the kind of boat that we have nowadays. They were determined to risk their lives for the sake of religious freedom. They did save seeds for the future even though they didn't have anything left to eat on the boat. After they landed, first they built the church where they could worship God, and then they built the schools where they could educate their descendants. Only after doing that, did they build their own houses. Heaven considered these points very precious.

The US, which God established and embraced in love, was in the position to embrace the whole world, but it became sick. That's why Father, while visiting 50 states, said during his speech that he came to the US like a doctor or firefighter to save the young people who were addicted to drugs. He wanted to save the US.

In saving the US, what did he plan to do? He needed to embrace the whole world. True Parents came on earth but the nations in the world didn't know it. They are not brothers who can fight against each other. True Parents came after a history of 6,000 years, and they must meet True Parents. They must be united with True Parents, listening to their words. It was the US that had such a role as mediator.

So Father sent out American, German and Japanese missionaries to the world starting from 1975 and educated leaders in the US calling them Top Guns. They were an elite contingent and central figures at that time. They are now 60, 70 and 80 years old but it is regrettable that the foundation of 2nd gens who are supposed to succeed them is weak. What should we do? If I give up, your future will be miserable, won' it? It would take long time without me. I am always saying this: You have worked so hard following Father and the time you have from now on is shorter than the time you spent up to now. How will your life come to fruition? How will you conclude your life on earth? We won't live eternally on earth. The spirit world is our original homeland. It is the life on earth in which we need to provide all the conditions to live well in the spirit world, but we ended up being extremely self-willed.

In front of True Parents, you should become filial sons and daughters without insisting on any conditions, and you should be united in true love with brothers and sisters. Parents are more worried about incapable children, aren't they? They are worried about such children more than excellent ones. I think you understand this and have the same feeling since all of you have raised children.

Don't fight in front of (True) parents using the name of True Parents. By giving more opportunities to others with the heart of living for the sake of others, our foundation and assets become bigger. Human resources are also our assets. We are stickily tied as True Family centered on True Parents, which no other people can have.

This is the relationship that appeared after 6,000 years had passed. You need to lead your life being proud of this tie, don't you? How much have you been proud of it? If you omit your relationship with True Parents, your existence at the church, school or workplace becomes meaningless. The fact that you are children of True Parents makes you different from other institutes or government in society. After this time in history passes, later generations will feel envious about you. How much you can widen, deepen, and raise your environment centering on God's will will decide the fortune of the whole. Do you understand?

Model yourself after the brothers and sisters who are doing well. Our goal is one, which is to establish one unified world centering on God and True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. Do you understand? For the sake of Vision 2020, don't you think we have to speed up what we are trying to do so that we can do within the next six years what we couldn't have done in the 40 years before?

Do you feel that we are with the tremendous power of the spirit world? You should be able to feel it. That's why I am training now 2nd gen Top Guns. As you know, Father said that after he was determined to live for God's will, he wanted to reach individual perfection controlling himself before desiring to dominate the universe. You know Father's character, right? How hot-blooded he was when he was young! I mean he suppressed himself for the sake of the salvation of humankind and the liberation of God in the history of restoration through indemnity.

I know leaders are here today. Don't be proud of yourself since you are in the leaders' position. You should be able to see below and at your sides. In that sense, I am preparing myself to put things in order again. It is time to have the right faith and loyalty towards Heaven, to lead a life of true love living for the sake of others, put our teachings into practice, and become models. That is the way to accumulate your merits for your descendants, credits for later generations. (True) parents have lived such a life. As children, why can't you follow it? You should be able to be united regardless of your position, for the sake of the whole and God's will. Then you won't have complaints and can make your neighbors, society, and the world happy. Do you understand? Therefore, even though you have some difficulties, please think big. Have a bigger picture.

It is True Parents that humankind had waited for 6,000 years. One year has passed after Father's Seonghwa, and you should have activities that you can clearly show to (True) parents. I don't know how long I will live. There are more than 7 billion miserable people. Do you know that they are your brothers and sisters who are living in the same period with True Parents but don't know it, living a hard life wandering without hope?

Have dignity as children of True Parents. Show that dignity. I am not saying you should wear good clothes or eat good foods. You need to understand that you have the most precious jewelry. What would happen if you aren't proud of it? Everybody likes jewelry. You should work hard for witnessing. There shouldn't be any neighbors who don't know True Parents. Leaders are important but each one of you needs to be determined with your family to realize God's will during your generation. I hope you start today with such commitment."

Interviews of members of the 2020 Vision Twenty-One-Day Top Gun Workshop

In the late 1980s, Father initiated the Top Gun Workshop in the United States for members that had vision, determination and persistence and that could help the American movement achieve greater heights. The idea was to provide special training to some especially capable individuals from various backgrounds who would then routinely analyze the state of the movement and cooperate from within their various departments in working toward its betterment. The term "top gun" comes from a movie by the same name that was set in the U. S. Navy Fighter Weapons School, for which the Navy uses the military shorthand Top Gun. It is a school for the U. S. Navy's best pilots.

True Mother recently called for a similar workshop in Korea. According to Rev. Ju Sung Sun, "True Mother's definition of what a top gun is was a good one. She said that the top gun workshop Father called for in America drew people who then succeeded in their missions. If we are to be 'top guns,' we must inherit their success." Rev. Sun had provided True Mother with lists that she had requested of second-generation leaders and first-generation leaders in the second- generation realm, from which she chose the roster for this top gun workshop. "True Mother," he said, "personally chose each person for the workshop." Mr. Sun was the vice-president of CARP Korea until near the end of the workshop when Mother made him leader of South Chungcheong Province.

Preparation

Mother wrote down a list of people she felt were qualified to participate in a top gun workshop. She directed Rev. Kyeong Seuk Lu, then the vice-president of the Korean church,' to organize it generally and she put Dae Mo Nim in charge of the details. Forty people took part in the 2020 Vision Twenty-One-Day Top Gun Workshop, which was held at the Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center.

Thirty-two of the ones selected were from the second generation. The eight others were first- generation members in the second-generation realm. The expression, "first-generation members in the second-generation realm," which perhaps is only used in Korea, refers to those of the first generation that joined when they were very young and grew up in the church. At least one of those participants joined when he was about twelve years old and later persuaded his parents to be blessed. As Rev. Ok Yun-ho, a district leader expressed it, "Most of the second-generation leaders here are in their forties and fifties. We are old. We are not young. I am already a district leader in Seoul with eight churches to take care of. So it is not as if we are learning a whole new tradition. It is more that Mother is empowering us, giving us more support to conduct Vision 2020 through this workshop."

The bare fact is that Korea has developed to such a degree that second-generation Unificationists may also feel a dearth of young people in FFWPU. They may long for younger people than themselves to respond to True Parents' message.

Mr. Ju Sung Sun

Mother had said that these top gun members need to resemble Joshua and Caleb, but at least one participant, Ju Sung Sun, felt that "we need even better leaders than Joshua and Caleb and that they can be raised through CARP." Rev. Sun will be leaving the workshop with three goals in mind for his new mission as church leader of one of Korea's nine provinces. Not surprisingly, he will focus on witnessing, but rather than individual witnessing, he will concentrate on developing a witnessing system. Secondly, he will invest his effort into developing the quality of mid-level leaders. "I am fostering twenty-six leaders. We want to develop a church where members of our second-generation feel happy and comfortable," he said. His final point will emphasize Chung Pyung's role in achieving Vision 2020. "Members could not connect in heart with Vision 2020 and the goals of reaching so many people in that short time. I realized through my experience here that we need not only education but also the Chung Pyung experience to gain confidence in the spiritual world working with us," he said.

Different Fields and Generations

As elsewhere, most workshops in Korea are organized for single groups or one generation. This workshop was inter- generational and included people from various backgrounds. Not only church-related leaders but also leaders of providential organizations and church NGOs took part, as did Special Envoy; Chan Uk Yu, who works in Moldova.

In the beginning, the fact that the men and women in the workshop have spent decades focusing on church goals and activities from different perspectives than one another was apparent. They were all in a somewhat alien environment and were not yet comfortable. Because the people that were invited were all specialists in their own fields, bringing them together to the point of sharing one heart, united in purpose was not automatic.

For workshop participants, this sudden discomfort came after some years of feeling as if they have full control over missions with which they are familiar. This caused them to esteem more highly the value of interpersonal relations, that is, horizontal unity. All had a personal relationship to God and True Parents. Suddenly they had to deal with finding harmony despite their different backgrounds and habitual practices.

Rev. In Young Song

We may not easily appreciate the degree to which being of different generations can be a struggle, especially (as in this case) when the ages of those of the first generation members were similar to the ages of those in the second. In Young Song, the regional leader of Daegu, has known most of the second-generation top gun participants for the twenty years that he has been a pastor. He, too, is in our second generation. Rev. Song made an interesting observation about what some in our second generation find difficult to overcome. He commented on how first- and second-generation members perceive a central point of our faith differently. "Being in the second generation," he said, "when it comes to relating to True Parents through faith, it is a hit more difficult than it is for first-generation members. We tend to see True Parents as the people that made our parents' lives difficult, that made our parents suffer. That gap exists between the generations."

The workshop was beneficial for him. During it, he experienced an epiphany. "I now feel how great True Parents' love is," he said, "how much they wanted to love every single one of us. I could directly and deeply feel True Parents' love."

True Mother in the Lead

The top gun workshop ran for three weeks, during which they went through the full lecture series on the Divine Principle and the lecture series on True Parents' lives and read, in its entirety, the 1,650-page new Cheon Seong Gyeong. They also participated in most of the Chung Pyung chanyang sessions.

Significantly, True Mother was using the top gun workshop to restart Vision 2020, the quest to take the Unification movement mainstream in the next seven years. This indicates that she is leading from the front, as she promised soon after Father Seonghwa Ceremony, and that she is keenly aware of our state of progress.

Mrs. Jung Hwa Yoo

Mrs. Jung Hwa Yoo is the wife of the pastor of the Cheongshim church, which is in Seorak, the village nearest the Chung Pyung Training Center. She said that Mother emphasizes that Seorak should become our "Vatican City," and that we need to bring all the people of Seorak to believe in True Parents. About the Vision 2020 goals, Mrs. Yoo said, "Many Korean church members actually doubt the vision. They find it unrealistic and too focused on numbers." Mother is aware of this lack of confidence and is determined to correct the trajectory of the Vision 2020 efforts.

Mrs. Yoo, on her part, felt by the end of the workshop "that Vision 2020 was not just a dream, it can actually come true; we can realize it.- She gained this understanding through their Divine Principle study, reading how the series of central figures had dealt with their responsibilities -- some failing, some partially succeeding, until Jacob finally accomplished the foundations of both faith and of substance. Her goals when she returns to the mission field are to pursue Vision 2020 on various levels through achieving multilevel unity. "The first thing we have to achieve, I realize, is body -- mind unity. It is ultimately necessary in this process toward Vision 2020. Body -- mind unity, couple's unity and family unity, those are the first steps toward Vision 2020. We need to be able to make a happy, good strong family, so that even people outside, when seeing my family, say, This is indeed a beautiful, good, great family."

Mrs. Yoo is rare among second-generation members in that before this workshop both she and her husband had liberated 210 generations of their ancestors. She said that few among the top gun participants had done so. She decried the fact that some second-generation leaders have rarely even visited Chung Pyung. "Even though they have led public lives," she said, "some have only come to Chung Pyung twice." She added that often members assume ancestor liberation is something about which only first-generation members need be concerned. This assumption, she explained, has led to a lack of interest on the part of second-generation members. Referring to the top gun group, Mrs. Yoo stated, "Once we came here, we saw that without spiritual assistance, we cannot achieve Vision 2020. Everyone that attended this workshop has come to realize what the spiritual world is and is now determined to liberate 210 generations of ancestors."

One facet of the participants' experience in the 2020 Vision Twenty-One-Day Top Gun Workshop is that many have been persuaded to convey a supportive understanding of Chung Pyung's work to members everywhere. Based on their sense of the need for spiritual support to achieve Vision 2020 goals they have become advocates.

Mrs. Yoo also feels that graduates of the top gun workshop are to spread True Mother's true love culture. "We are to play a bridging role," she said, "Everyone here is a leader. We are not special or anything but because we are leaders of churches and providential organizations, we can now play a key role in expanding that culture among the other members."

Confronting Expectations

The participants in pairs or small groups often discussed Vision 2020 and ways that they might move toward accomplishing it. Twice, all participants discussed it. Each person expressed his or her views. Daegu's Rev. Song explained, "We could reconnect and share based on the truth and on Vision 2020. We all have different responsibilities, but we could share what we think of Vision 2020 and how best to carry it out."

Rev. Yun Ho Ok

Rev. Yun Ho Ok felt that a good basis to begin moving toward Vision 2020 was to first ease members' physical difficulties. Dae Mo Nim had told them that the hands are like surgical instruments, having the power to heal. He decided to test this idea out. He had arrived at Chung Pyung with pain in his shoulder. He was unable to reach behind his back with his left hand. During chanyang sessions, he concentrated on his left shoulder. The experience reminded him of the expression Hyung Jin Nim used to use about "seven deaths and resurrections." That is how painful the experience was. "You have to go through so much pain before your hands actually begin to have that power to heal," Ile said. Over time and through great endurance, lie realized that what Dae Mo Nim had said was true. His hands were becoming instruments of healing.

Three members of his area came for a workshop and Rev. Ok attended to their pain. He invested himself in trying to heal them. They got better. The following weekend seven people came. He again invested himself, and these members, too, left feeling much better. "When it comes to witnessing," Rev. Ok said, "I think we should start with our 'internal' members, and Chung Pyung is the best way to do this because many members are in pain and exhausted." He believes that when his members have good experiences and are refreshed through coming to Chung Pyung workshops, they will receive the word more deeply in their hearts during Sunday services and become more enthusiastic about witnessing. He sees logic in this. "True Father gave us Chung Pyung as a mecca for the spiritual world. To start witnessing, Mother said that we need to have churches filled with the Holy Spirit and the truth. I think the Holy Spirit comes through Chung Pyung and the truth through education."

Spiritual Assistance A Necessity

Rev. Ok contrasted his state of mind before and after the top gun workshop. Before, he knew the numbers -- the numerical goals Korean members were supposed to reach in bringing new members and in gaining the support of many people in Korean society. Yet, numbers do not make a vision. Even for the numbers, little information on how to reach them was being disseminated. "When 1 came to the top gun workshop, we had many discussions about why Vision 2020 was hard to grasp and what problems we faced related to it. The concepts and goals had not been articulated well and communication and cooperation were sparse." Identifying those problems was helpful but did not make reaching consensus among the top gun leaders easier.

The body of members that took part in the top gun workshop at Chung Pyung did seem to agree that the Chung Pyung providence and the spiritual intervention that occurs there were necessary components to achieve the vision in Korea or even globally. Rev. Ok said, "Especially related to Chung Pyung, my understanding of the providence had some holes. Through listening to the lectures, those holes were filled. I now understand why certain religious ceremonies took place at Chung Pyung and in some ways I understand Chung Pyung's significance." He learned some aspects of this through the healing of his body, regaining full mobility in his left arm, which he attributes to spiritual intervention.

Another insight that Rev. Song had about those in our second generation is that although they know that True Parents say that they do not have original sin, as they conduct their lives day to day, they often feel confronted by their own fallen internal characteristics. They are aware that they have imperfections that make them feel less worthy; nevertheless, they have benefitted from True Parents work and efforts. "What matters," he says, "is that we return to our original selves. True Mother chose Chung Pyung as the workshop site for us, it seems, because we cannot return to our original selves by ourselves. I am grateful to Dae Mo Nim and Heung- Jin Nim for helping us work to find our original selves. This was all necessary and helpful to restart and refocus on Vision 2020."

Mr. Sung Il Cho

Mr. Sung Il Cho was among the first-generation top guns. He is the director of administrative affairs in the FFWPU International Office, the parent office of this magazine. He believes that achieving unity between members is more difficult than feeling a sense of oneness with True Parents and God. Horizontal unity among members is something he believes we all need to work on. That the forty members of the top gun workshop were able to harmonize and coalesce as a unit he sees as deeply significant.

Another facet of the workshop that he thinks points to future success is that the members experienced many spiritual phenomena during the twenty-one days. "Normally when we think of Chung Pyung," he said, "we recall negative issues. We are not very favorable toward it. Even though True Parents were the ones that conducted the Chung Pyung spiritual providence, because we are closed-minded, it was difficult to understand it." Mr. Cho observed that as the participants' hearts opened toward Chung Pyung, they "felt a lot of spiritual aid and support and spiritual intervention took place."

When asked about specific incidents, he mentioned some. Rev. Kyeong Seuk Lu, had a vision in prayer of Hyo Jin nim walking up behind him, hugging him and telling him to support Mother well. In a chanyang session, the person behind Rev. Lu saw Hyo Jin Nim embracing Rev. Lu. Mr. Cho saw Hyo Jin nim, Heung Jin nim and Young Jin nim come into the hall. He also said that Rev. Sun had had a car accident before the workshop. He could not flex his foot at first, but by the end of the workshop, he could freely move it. Different kinds of spiritual experience occurred. He added, "I did not think that those were just spiritual experiences, but they seemed to me indications of how True Parents, Heung Jin nim and Dae Mo Nim have been working in Chung Pyung. These helped us to gauge just how hard they have been investing themselves."

Top gun workshop participants all seemed to feel strongly that the goals they are pursuing for Vision 2020 call for spiritual support. Yet, they are not ignoring practical aspects.

The top gunners are connected via a cell-phone group and a members-only web site. They will also meet physically once a month, so that they can bring up ideas that help the church develop and ones that the Korean headquarters can actually implement. They are trying to develop that type of culture. If other people in what one might call Abel-type positions are available, they would encourage those people to also come to their monthly meetings to voice their opinions.

Mr. Cho concluded, "More important than goals is being reborn spiritually. If we are spiritually reborn, whether our goal is sixty thousand or six million, that is of secondary importance. Being reborn and having conviction that we can achieve Vision 2020 is what is important. From there, we can work on something. This workshop provided what was most important to the leaders -- conviction."

I have called you all here in order to honor Father's will. I hope that all of those in this era, all of you who have lived with me in this era, become historic figures. Let us look at Joshua and Caleb. Were they the only ones that went out exploring? Twelve people had been assigned that task. What happened to the other ten?

They were not remembered through history. Only Joshua and Caleb remained. I have called you all, proud members of the second-generation realm who have inherited one hundred percent of True Parents' tradition, with the heart and hope that you become central figures of this age.

All of you are conducting public lives. Is that right? For this reason, I cannot keep you here for too long. That is why the workshop has been set for twenty-one days. Some of you might have to do even forty days. The reason Chung Pyung is an ideal site is because it is the only place that you can empty yourselves and achieve unity with Heaven. I wanted to give you the opportunity to rearm yourselves with the Principle, listen to new lectures on True Parents' course and become spiritually brighter, by yourselves.

As Father embraced God's will, youthful passion was an aspect about which he was careful. That is why he set up the goal to perfect dominion over himself before wishing for dominion over the universe. You have probably heard from Father himself regarding how he would pray for hours, denying his body after setting up this goal. Right? This applies to you, too. I am not going to hit your bodies, but I hope that you realize that yourselves. I am asking you to train yourselves and to reach body -- mind unity.

After accepting God's will at the young age of seventeen, Father's course as he pioneered the way was an indescribable one, filled with blood, sweat and tears, a course in which his life was always at risk. He could not comfortably rest for even a day or a moment and could not eat properly until he turned forty. He threw away everything and followed the one path to realize God's will even under such circumstances.

The 1960 Holy Wedding marked the start of True Parents' providential course. Can you imagine that one moment when True Father, who knew everything, had to end the entire indescribable course True Parents had followed without yet having proclaimed Foundation Day in 2013? Do you realize that he had no other choice but to trust us with everything and go to the spiritual world? If you were alone, you might invest moderate efforts. However, you have children; you have descendants.' I hope you can all experience what True Parents felt.

It is faster to solve issues that arise with your children when you take charge of the problem yourself. However, it takes time if you try to find a solution through someone else. You must understand how precious this very moment, this very time, is.

I also like Joshua and Caleb. They were both descendants of noble families. They were loyal to Heaven for over eighty years. Caleb, from his perspective, lacked nothing. Yet, he united with Joshua. Instead of bragging about himself, he elevated Joshua first. This restored the Cain -- Abel relationship and formed the foundation that enabled the Messiah to come to earth amidst the Israelites.

I have been thinking a lot about our leaders these days, and I feel that a culture by which leaders can love and brag about each other hasn't been established. We must be able to love and take care of each other more than any other external groups, because we are True Parents' children. We must be completely different. However, we are weak in this respect. I pondered on the cause.

I want to create new environments through you from now on. Do not seek only to get higher positions, but try to live for each other's sakes, nurture each other and he proud of each other. If you can do that, everyone can grow. On the other hand, no development awaits an individual or a group that is self- or group-centered and thinks of itself as being well-off and the best. You must understand this. As you followed the Unification Church, some people have had to leave for particular reasons, but even those people that had to leave the church all say they love Parents. However, some people say that they left the church because of a particular member. This is a point you must correct. You are children who should resemble the parents. Yet, if you leave for self-centered reasons and live for yourselves, you will shrink and become smaller. On the other hand, if you live for the sake of others, you grow and develop. Which would you chose?

You must ensure that no one suffers pain because of you. As people who save lives, you must not kill any lives. I am talking about people now. You should embrace all siblings, members -- all people; ensure that no one leaves the Unification Church because of you.

You must do everything you can to set this people, this nation, in front of Heaven and restore the world. Right? The center must stand firm. If you can accomplish that, how proud an accomplishment would that be? However, this cannot be realized with only one person. It can be achieved only if you join hands and accomplish twice, three times, four times, ten times or one hundred times more that you have.

You should never forget how important the age we are living in is and who enabled you to live such a life. True Parents enabled you to have such a life.

In 1975, True Father chose missionaries from the United States, Germany and Japan and dispatched them across the world. The global mission history itself is reaching its fortieth year already. Global missions... The Japanese mission is almost fifty-five years old. Only a few have remained until now, but it is also true that they are making great contributions. True Father, centered on the United States, created then what we can call today an elite troop. He gave it a special name, educated the members of the group and gave them responsibilities, but they did not fulfill all their responsibilities. Have you ever heard of the term "Top Gun?" Will you become the Top Guns of the new providential era? [Applause]

How many attended the 1st Anniversary of True Father's Seunghwa in Korea? True Mother created a wonderful summary video of the 1st Anniversary. When prominent people from around the world and Korea saw the Seunghwa program they were deeply moved and came to a much deeper understanding of True Parents and the great accomplishments True Father made. If you share this video with new people they can also be inspired and change.

Last week Dr. Peter Kim and Dr. Dong Moon Joo were found innocent in the Korean Supreme court decision. One former Judge told some of our leaders, that "you must really thank True Mother for this reversal. Due to the 1st anniversary program in memory of the Seunghwa of Father Moon the atmosphere in Korea changed. True Mother brought a victory through the first anniversary that is changing people's understanding."

During the anniversary program many articles were written throughout Korea about True Father's life and accomplishments. Not one article was negative and they showed the work of True Parents. Everything was positive and decision makers and prominent people from every corner of Korean society was interested. Many of the top people who have been supporting and working with True Parents for a long time really deeply understood True Mother and the victory that True Parents achieved in bringing the family and the Korean nation and the world toward peace and closer to God. Cham Abonim, True Father is working so powerfully so that True Father and True Mother could initiate this great turning point through the Seunghwa anniversary. This really inspired the whole Korea nation and the high ranking people of influence including the judges. They could understand that facts about our True Parents.

Recently one member of the Korean Parliament was exposed to have close ties to the North and has now been arrested for plotting a revolt or rebellion in South Korea in favor of the North. He was promoting a very far left and even procommunist viewpoint continually. It was exposed that he was influencing Korean society in the wrong way.

He was constantly talking about the impending war between North and South Korea. One thing from this did come out – that the North has something beyond weapons, a strong internal education to make the people committed to North Korea. Whereas the South has a very weak internal education toward patriotism. Through the Seunghwa people could learn about True Father's work. The people could see that True Father has been working on a peaceful reunification of North and South Korea for several decades and not only that –he has continually initiated programs to support peace in every part of the world – and those programs continue and are growing. They saw the Bering Strait Peace King Bridge and Tunnel to help foster good relations between Russia and America, and Global peace activities and continuous good work between North and South Korea.

The key thing for all of us is that we must fulfill our portion of responsibility as tribal messiahs. This will change the atmosphere 180 degrees. This creates a victorious foundation. In Japan they created 3,000 in a core witnessing foundation. In Korea there's a huge effort for witnessing. How about the United States? (Yes.) Yes is not enough. We must have a substantial foundation.

Think about True Parents and all humanity. In front of True Parents all humankind is one family. There are no barriers or boundaries in True Parents mind and heart toward any people on earth. America's responsibility as elder son is very important in front of all humanity, to bring them all to True parents. But how have we carried our responsibility until today as the elder son? We were raised by True Parents and True Parents invested in our nation as the elder son. Therefore, we must have the heart and attitude that on behalf of True Parents we have to take care of brothers and sisters all over the world.

We should practice True Parents' way with this kind of spirit. We should establish this kind of foundation. Recently True Mother met all the tribal messiahs who witnessed to 12 people or more in 40 days. One family member had witnessed to 80 people, another to 120 in just 40 days. Do we have that kind of spirit in America?

When we look at the memorial to Father after the first year, True Father's Seunghwa really has brought a transformation in Korea and has brought a new spirit among our worldwide foundation. Many 2nd gen from Japan organized and did a very special bicycling condition. They rode from 20 days from the northernmost part of Japan to the southern tip of Japan, and then went to Korea and rode their bicycles all the way to Pusan and then up to Imjingak, in incredible heat. They turned brown in the sun, riding to the 38th parallel for a final rally.

This is a great occurrence in the heart and spirit of True Parents, to bring North and South Korea together as one. With this spirit they rode their bikes to the 38th parallel and proclaimed that peaceful unification between north and south will come through True Parents. They brought a great spirit to the work of bringing North and South together peacefully. On the finish line also Hyo Jin Nim's son rode with them and completed the course.

I'm sharing this story because spirit world is watching all of us all the time. Before I left, Hyo Jin appeared to me saying, "True Mother, I am with True Father now. True Father and I are coming with you, Mother, to America to support you."

True Mother invited all the tribal messiahs who had witnessed to 12 or more people. She was able to meet 1,200 tribal messiahs who fulfilled this condition. We all understand God's ideal of creation. Because the Heavenly Parent lost Adam and Eve due to the Fall, Heavenly Parent has been in the loneliest position in the universe. The Fall means that the blood lineage was transformed. All humanity has been under this condition of the false blood lineage. We cannot move forward as human beings toward Heavenly Parent and True Parents without changing the blood lineage. With satanic blood lineage, we can never become one with Heavenly Parent. We must make a certain condition to overcome this situation. Fallen humanity doesn't know how to overcome the satanic blood lineage and the fact that Satan has a claim on us.

Think about the Israelites and their history. Here were the chosen people but at the most critical moment, even though they could fulfill as saints and sages and carry out 4,000 years of history, they missed the most important moment that they had been prepared for. Now we are 2,000 years later and once again are meeting the messiah. Two thousand years ago the prepared chosen nation missed Jesus.

God sent his only begotten son. If Israel had united, a nation for God would have been created that would have become the foundation that could win over Rome and then go to the world. If they could have united as one centering on Jesus, God's nation would have been established and the foundation would have been created for Cheon Il Guk to spread throughout the world. Rome and Israel were prepared but they missed their appointed hour.

What is the outcome of their missing their historic moment? Because of their disbelief they couldn't fulfill the providential will of heaven for Israel and Jesus. Think how much they have suffered since that time.

We have to realize that if we don't liberate and bless our ancestors as Father instructed us, they will still be trapped in the darkness and not be free. Also, we will not be protected because they can't support us without the liberation and blessing. Many difficulties that we have on earth, many spiritual attacks and physical problems, disease, accidents or other traumas or challenges such as divisions between families can be stopped and we can be protected by the intervention of our good ancestors after they have been liberated and blessed. When they are liberated and blessed then these 210 generations become the brightest light in heaven, and that light is expanding rapidly.

We have many problems because we didn't fulfill our responsibility to liberate and bless our 210 generations of our ancestors. We are in such a blessed position. If we fulfill our responsibility so many things will change. The physical world and spirit world can be transformed very rapidly if we understand how to fulfill our portion of responsibility.

In the Divine Principle the most important aspect of education is on the teaching of indemnity. Understanding indemnity condition is very important for us to fulfill our responsibility. The way we have to fulfill our portion of responsibility is to make certain indemnity conditions. Because of the Fall of Adam and Eve, we have the satanic world. We have 7 billion people on earth but we see that 7 billion people are in great agony and suffering. But God's agony and suffering and struggle is the greatest of all because he loves all his children.

Everywhere God was surrounded by the agony and suffering of the 7 billion people. From Heavenly Parent's point of view, it wasn't until True Parents could fulfill their portion of responsibility that God could be liberated from his agony and suffering, and now through True Parents all humanity can be liberated and blessed and the condition of the satanic blood lineage can be overcome. Because of True Parents God has been liberated and freed to be able to stand as our original God and been released from the shackles of the unchanging agony of people under Satan's dominion.

Now through the Blessing all humanity can be liberated from that satanic blood lineage and stand in relationship to God. We become blessed children through True Parents. We can make a blessed family through True Parents. Through True Parents we can make a true blessed family and we can become true blessed children ourselves. Then our ancestors are liberated and blessed through us and they become blessed families in the spirit world.

However, if we don't fulfill our portion of responsibility we cannot have this kind of blessing centering on True Parents. So the conclusion is, at the first anniversary of the Seonghwa there were so many events that educated people about True Father's life and works. The top leaders of the world and of Korea, as well as VIPs, are changing their attitude toward True Parents.

Think about what it can be like if we completely give our lives and unite with True Parents for one year and make the proper indemnity conditions. Then America could be completely changed in one year. Think about America. As American families we have a great debt to True Parents and to Korea. What shall we do? We must determine to be more sincere and more caring and loving, working to fulfill our portion of responsibility. We should have the spirit to work 10 times, 100 times harder than the Korean family in witnessing.

Our mission: we must awaken ourselves, and by following True Parents' way and blessing our ancestors we can make the spirit world filled with light and the power of God can transform the entire world. I brought a great message from True Parents through the video shown at the Seonghwa. Please show it on Sunday. I just had to see you as True Parents.

What did True Mother do first? First, she took the most important thing, which is True Father's words. Did you all see the new release of the Cheon Seong Gyeong? True Mother polished and published True Father's words. This includes the 700 volumes of Father's speeches.

But the most important thing, the first version of Cheon Seong Gyeong did not contain Father's words from 2001 to 2013. The newer version has everything. Also, because of the urgency to publish the Cheong Seong Gyeong the first time, it was not well edited. When it was translated to English and many other languages, it became less and less precise. Now it is being translated directly from Father's original speeches and is done with great care. Many professors, elders, key leaders worked diligently to prepare the new version.

Think of the last 2,000 years in which we had the Bible. Now with True Parents we have the path to Cheon Il Guk and the foundation that True Father has given us is his word. There are three core books now that are the summary of Father's words: Cheon Seong Gyeong, Pyeonghwa Gyeong – or the Peace Messages – and the third will be Champumo Gyeong, or True Parents Gyeong. Through these three books we can become one with True Parents.

Think about the importance of Father's words and how much you are studying and reading and learning and practicing Father's words. By becoming one with Father's words we can fulfill our responsibility.

We have to realize how important spirit world is. Because of the Fall of man the spirit world has been in total darkness, literally speaking with no light. There was light only in a small area where God was. In essence, Heavenly Parent was surrounded by darkness. That small area where God resided was pure white. We have to realize how much Dae Mo Nim and True Parents' activity has worked to liberate our lonely Heavenly Parent.

True Parents and Dae Mo Nim liberated God by opening the way for God's heart to be comforted. You've heard about the liberation of our ancestors. This is our portion of responsibility. Through the course of liberating and blessing our ancestors, they become absolute good spirits, filled with light. This light is shining brightly in the spirit world and is multiplying and expanding. If we don't fulfill the direction Father gave for each of us to liberate our ancestors and bless 210 generations, then you will not be protected in the same way. However, if you bless 210 generations, you will be protected in a special way by your ancestors.

Archbishop Kim then led us to the final Kyung-bae and then he led cheers of Ok Mansei!!

Midnight Prayer at the start of the year 2013 by the Heavenly Calendar

Dearest most beloved and respected Heavenly Parent, now is the start of the year 2013 by the Heavenly Calendar; the long awaited year. It is the year in which we will celebrate Foundation Day together with True Parents. All of the things on this earth, and the spirit world are coming together under a single heart and mind in order to start this New Year. Today I offer my thanks to you.

Heavenly Parent, you have gone through a very sorrowful time in history in order to greet this Foundation Day due to the fall of the first human ancestors. The Providence of Restoration through Indemnity was carried out in order to rectify this wrong. And many Central Figures were appointed in order to carry out Your providence. And it was through their sacrifices and through their efforts throughout history, which You anxiously looked over, that history has flowed to this day. In particular on the foundation of the victorious foundation of True Parents, the Coronation of God's Kingship was held January 13, 2011 and since that Proclamation for twelve years True Parents has be living each day as if it was a thousand years and a thousand years as if it was a day investing themselves completely with life or death resolutions to this day.

And during this time True Parents proclaimed the start of the Era After the Coming of Heaven and also offer the Coronation to You allowing Heavenly Parent to firmly establish himself on this earth. And to all of humankind and to this universe True Parents held a coronation and enthronement ceremony that allowed God to be liberated completely. Beloved Heavenly Parent, now we have twelve days left until Foundation Day. We really truly want to repent for all our responsibilities which we failed to fulfill now centered on True Parents, the True Family and also all the Blessed Families.

Let us all become as one in heart, in body, in mind and in form(?) to all become a total living offering before You that can be used in order to create a new environment for your purpose.

I pray that all the members of the Unification Family worldwide can unite with the Will of True Parents and pledge to fulfill their responsibilities and missions as Tribal Messiahs and use this as a new opportunity in making a new beginning. This I proclaim now in the start of the First Year of Cheon Il Guk in the year 2013, by the Heavenly Calendar, we pray that all of the people of this world can welcome and usher in this truly amazing Era of Peaceful Reign and Prosperity. May True Parents' and Heavenly Parents' blessings overflow in each and every one of us and all of this I sincerely pray in the name of the True Parents. Aju, Aju, Aju.

Missionaries from the Eve nation are the representatives of True Mother

True Mother's words for 160 Japanese Missionaries (who are officially called "Cheon Il Guk Missionary Group") on the last day of their 40 day workshop for Launching Missionary Activities (HC 7.28 / Sept. 2, 2013)

True Mother called the Japanese missionaries who were finished with their 40 day workshop that day to the Cheon Jeong Gung. They will go back to Japan and then leave for their mission countries after obtaining visas.

"I feel I become younger when I am with you since you are the missionaries from the Eve nation, you are the representatives of True Mother. Though the relationship between True Family and you is that of Abel and Cain, you are the children of True Parents. You are in the position where you must establish the tradition of Cheon Il Guk. As of now, Heavenly Parent has been in a lonely situation. Heavenly Parent has been miserable for 6,000 years. You became true children through True Parents. In order for you to enhance our teachings and tradition, none of you should make the mistake that Adam and Eve did.

I hope you do your very best, thinking of True Parents especially when you are in difficulties. You will realize when you look back on this time that you were in a proud position where you could directly participate in creating an environment (환경창조). It is not that you have enough time. In each country there are senior members and leaders and so please help them. You should meet high level people to testify about True Parents. There are ambassadors for peace in each country and so you can take the shortest course to reach the top-level people. Having dignity and personality, do your best to honor your mission.

If you can create such an environment on earth you will be able to move the spirit world. When you work hard, True Parents will help you. True Father directly helps you from the spirit world. Since you are young, be bright and do your best in order to establish the Cheon Il Guk that holds freedom, peace and happiness.
