In commemoration of the First Anniversary of the Great Cheon Il Guk Foundation Day, a celebratory luncheon was held on January 13th of the 2nd year of Cheon Il Guk, at 1:00 PM by the Heavenly Calendar (February 12th), in the Great Hall at the Cosmic Cheong Pyeong Heaven and Earth Training Center. The luncheon was a great success, with around 1,000 invited guests, including distinguished world leaders from Korea and abroad.

Resolving to Bring About Cheon Il Guk

In commemoration of the First Anniversary of Cheon Il Guk Foundation Day, many gifts were offered from around the world; but for the sake of time, only representatives from Korea, Japan and the United States presented their gifts, and the remainder of offerings were presented through a video. Next, President Yong-Soo Seol of Korea and District Director Masaichi Hori of Japan, as well as 10 representatives from 10 providential countries and continents, received special lifetime achievement awards from True Parents.

In the welcoming address, Korean President Kyeong-Seuk Lu said, “We are being called to complete the realization of the ideal world of Cheon Il Guk. As we celebrate the First Anniversary of Cheon Il Guk Foundation Day, I hope that this day can be a chance for you to bring about the substantial Cheon Il Guk, centering on True Parents’ vision for a world of peace.”

The Universal Peace Federation International President Thomas Walsh initiated a proposal for victory, proclaiming, “True Parents, thank you. We love you.” He suggested that, “In commemoration of the First Anniversary of Cheon Il Guk Foundation Day, let us resolve to absolutely bring victory in our mission to bring about the realization of Cheon Il Guk, centered on the true love of True Parents.”

During the luncheon, women leaders from Azerbaijan and representatives from the Washington Times presented their gifts, and distinguished guests from Korea and abroad were introduced. A video titled, “Cheon Il Guk, the New Country of Hope,” was shown, introducing the lifetime achievements of the True Parents of Heaven and Earth.

Feeling the Vision for a Peaceful World at the Celebration of the First Anniversary of Foundation Day

After the luncheon, Se-Taek Kim, former Foreign Ambassador of Korea, said, “When I saw Reverend Sun Myung Moon and Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon’s clear vision for the future and international work for peace and unification on the Korean Peninsula, while working abroad as a diplomat, my heart was stirred into deep reverence and respect. Only Reverend Moon’s near- perfect vision for peace and unification can bring about a new age.”

Former President of Burundi, Domitien Ndayizeye, also gave a congratulatory speech, saying, “It was an honor for my wife and me to be able to attend the Cosmic Blessing Ceremony of the True Parents of Heaven and Earth. I felt as though the phrase, “One Family Under God” was coming true in front of me, as I got blessed together with couples of different races and religions from around the world.” The Former President offered up a special gift from Burundi of a statue that represented conversation with ancestors, communication between distant regions, and celebratory festivals, titled “Royal Drummer.”

Many congratulatory performances were offered as the finale of the luncheon. Performances included a violin performance by Ye-Ju (Elizabeth) Woo, a song by Matthew Hill called “April’s Song,” a performance of filial piety by Japanese West Tokyo Seonghwa students called “The Hope of the Future” and a song called “Beautiful Country” by “Project Beauty,” among many other performances. After the audience meditated over the meaning of the First Anniversary of the Cheon Il Guk Foundation Day, through the performances, Japanese President Eiji Tokuno led the audience in three cheers of Eok Mansei to conclude the celebratory luncheon.

The Bowing Ceremony of the First Anniversary of Cheon Il Guk Foundation Day was held on January 13th in the 2nd Year of Cheon Il Guk at 7:00 AM by the Heavenly Calendar (February 12th), at the Cheon Jung Goong Main Hall. The True Parents of Heaven and Earth, the True Family, VIPs, including corporate executives, public and pastoral officials, elders, royal family members and Unification Church members were all in attendance, totaling about 300 participants all together.

“We Must Always Envision the Realization of Cheon Il Guk.”

On this day, True Mother emphasized that, “To become true owners of Cheon Il Guk, we must always envision the realization of Cheon Il Guk. Please unite with and realize the will, and become people who always take true ownership to heart. I pray that you can become people who can realize Cheon Il Guk in your lives.”

On this day, Korean Continental Director Kyeong-Seuk Lu presided over the Bowing Ceremony. President Lu explained the meaning of Foundation Day and the 7-year course until Vision 2020, saying, “As we usher in the completion of the substantial Cheon Il Guk and the Cosmic Revolution proclaimed by the True Parents of Heaven and Earth, I hope that as citizens of Cheon Il Guk, all members of the Unification Church will unite with one another and resolve to offer total devotion and filial piety to True Parents.”

True Parents received ceremonial bows after their entrance and the lighting of the Holy Candle. The various representatives offered up bows of respect first, followed by the families of Hyo Jin Nim, Heung Jin Nim and other True Family representatives. They were followed by the 5 Great Saints and other representatives from the spirit world.

Japanese Continental Director Yong-Cheon Song offered up a prayer report, saying, “I sincerely pray that we can reflect on the blessing and enormous heavenly love that has brought about the Foundation Day of Cheon Il Guk, which was unprecedented though all of human history. I want to offer up my sincere gratitude for allowing us to live as the subjects and citizens of Cheon Il Guk, where we will attend the True Parents of Heaven and Earth in the cleanest, brightest place, and where we will enter the new heaven and new earth of the restored Garden of Eden.”

You Must Realize the Blessing and Become a Lighthouse that Shines into the Night.

When I received the summons and the responsibility to become the Messiah, I could not selfishly decide, “I am the Messiah!” Instead, I had to be aware that there was no other path but for me to be the Messiah. I had to start from the viewpoint of fallen Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Restoration is the same. That standard is not just words. Just because God says that you are blessed does not mean that you are blessed. Only after you have completely realized the blessing and can live together as equals can you receive the inheritance. You can receive the inheritance after you are able to live and work together as equals. Then you must say, “I am absolutely the True Parents, I am absolutely the Messiah.” It is the same as a lighthouse that shines into the night. No matter how dark the world is, the lighthouse must shine the light of hope into the night. From the very beginning, we have raised our members through the strong bonds of the world of heart, through love and the word. Mother thinks that from now on, the Korean church and the world church both need to become like this. We must lead all of the Korean churches in this direction. We must do the same with the world churches. Even if we do not have eloquent explanations, people can feel our love that is bound to heaven. If we become one, everything can be expressed. Mother will foster the Unification Church with this kind of strong love, so that the Unification Church, the blessed families and the True Family can all become one. You must all cooperate with me. I had to come because you prepared so much and were waiting for me. I listened to all of your reports. While listening to the reports given by the national leader of Brazil and the national leader of the Philippines in particular, I thought that nations that could not put as much into practice as they have need to learn from Brazil and the Philippines.

A person must change to be qualified to stand in front of God's will. The content of the report given by Brazil on home groups and how home group leaders are teaching the Divine Principle and growing alongside the mid-level leaders was good. In addition, if we are to talk about the Philippines, regarding the Blessing Ceremonies, members could fulfill their responsibility toward witnessing and the tribal messiah mission. That is also good. The different nations in the world each have a feature unique to them. I have observed the Philippines for a long time and I believe that the movement they are conducting was well chosen. In the end, what matters is letting people know that Heaven's providence has settled on earth and that Cheon II Guk has begun regardless of the method. However, you must let them know that True Parents are at its center.

Why does God need True Parents? As a result of human history having gone wrong, Adam and Eve -- who were supposed to become the True Parents -- became false parents, thus the satanic world resulted. Heaven had to make painstaking efforts when he originally didn't need to, because humans failed to fulfill their responsibility. The providence of restoration, the providence of restoration through indemnity... The tremendous difficulty of this providence is hard to express in words; that is why it took six thousand years as recorded in the Bible.'

It wasn't easy. We learned from True Parents how Heaven worked hard until the word "True Parents" came to be formed. I believe that you, as those in charge of nations and regions, have had many opportunities to experience True Parents' heart. The problem, however, is that we are not putting this into action at this point. We must make results.

Rev. Kyeong Seuk Lu, president of FFWPU-Korea, just talked about the Christian thinking in his congratulatory remarks. The Unification Church or the Family Federation for World Peace, which has True Parents at its center.... (Do you have to keep flashing that light at me -- you the person taking photos? I cannot speak because of the blinding light.) When I talk and something interrupts the middle of the talk, I end up forgetting what I want to say.

Now, what was I talking about? I was about to talk about the history of the Unification Church and not that of Christianity, True Parents' history. True Parents have taught you all the basics during their lifetimes. There are many families blessed by True Parents around the world, right? Even though True Father has ascended, what kind of foundation do you think we would have had if every single blessed member and family fulfilled their responsibility? Would it have been bigger or smaller than it is today? Of the seven billion people on earth, around five billion would have known, right? I would like to think that way. However, this is somewhat pathetic. Do I have to scold you for not fulfilling your responsibility? If you had results that could move one nation, three, four to ten nations, True Father would have said he had accomplished the actual settlement of Cheon Il Guk and would have been able to obtain more freedom through us in his last moments.

However, we did not hear him say that. I would like to ask a favor of you. I sincerely hope that you can help True Mother, True Parents, in obtaining freedom. Whenever I set up one of you and talk to the person, I realize again how precious you are and how proud I am of you. You are all proud children of True Parents and I want to boast of you all! Do you feel great?

National leader of Brazil, do you give sermons in Korean? [No] In what language do you give your sermons then? [In Portuguese] Then when did you learn Korean? [I studied Korean as a foreign student and CARP member in the Korea University language school in 1991 and lived in one of the CARP centers.] Can you speak Korean so well just from studying it then? [My wife is Korean.] He understood everything and did not miss a single word at all. To just do it that way, to just do it; these are truly precious words. There is a difference among you, because you did not do it, you did not try. You just have to do it! Will you do it or not? When we have this meeting again next year, I hope to hear all of you giving your reports in Korean! Do you understand?

After this program ends, you'll be having lunch, right? Today is the fifteenth day of the first lunar month. The fifteenth day.... I am not sure whether this saying exists in other countries, but today, when people look up at the moon, they say that the clouds are clearing up. While looking up at the moon, people eat nuts such as peanuts, walnuts and pine nuts and believe that they are stepping on the spirits of the earth. To see whether the moon comes out this evening, I was thinking of playing yute. According to the weather report, however, the moon may not come out; it is expected to be cloudy in the evening. I know that you have a schedule, but we will play yute together after lunch. Yute is part of the Korean culture. You played many yute games while True Father was still alive, right?

When playing yute, a team of several people truly become one without any pretense. This is important. We could say that people act this way because of their common goal to win; however, what matters is that once teams are formed, they become one. What we should always bear in mind when we come together to listen to good examples and learn from them is how to properly continue True Parents' tradition and that it is important to become one with our Heavenly Parent and True Parents in a straight line.

As leaders coming from both the East and West, please consider this game a way for all races to become one and return joy and the Holy Spirit to Heaven. In addition, you can become one as you attend our Heavenly Parent within nature and feel grateful in front of True Parents' love. This is precious. Now, how much prize money do you think I have prepared for the game? Yes? [Mother lifted the bag of prize money.] This is heavy. Now accept this. I hope you fight hard and that goodness wins. The winning team will probably receive twenty million won.

The Blessing is a miracle to those living today

Just as the regional president of South America mentioned a short time ago, it took six thousand years and two thousand years of Christian history for the arrival of the true owner that humanity and our Heavenly Parent has so longed for. Yet, no environment was ready to welcome him; in short, we were inadequate. I heard from the report given by the regional president of Asia that many members in the Philippines were blessed. Until the term "blessing" appeared... This blessing is a miracle to those living in today's era. However, around the world, how much did blessed families and members of the Unification Church or Family Federation for World Peace that have received this tremendous blessing fulfill their duty as devoted children, patriots and saints in front of True Parents? You must examine yourselves. You must look at yourselves.

I know that you have all worked hard for this event. It is also true that the status of our church has been upgraded by a level. True Parents dedicated their entire lives to spreading the providence of blessed families and the blessing throughout the world, yet most of the seven billion people are still unaware of it. What do you think of that? There is always a right time within Heaven's providence. We must not miss this right time. As people that have lived with True Parents in this era, you stand in a blessed position where you can yield results or fruits, yet you did not fulfill your responsibilities. This is embarrassing. Let us not become people filled with shame. Do you understand? In other words, doing one's best alone is not enough. Mothers that are here know what that feels like. Men may not know how it feels, but to give birth to a life feels as if the sky is falling. It is only when one reaches a point where she feels like dying that life is given birth to. As mothers who have experienced this, you must fulfill your responsibilities.

We should love members, have harmony between siblings, attend True Parents at the center and expand this environment. In addition, you must be particularly able to show growth and development whenever such a big event is conducted. How did you feel when you heard True Father's voice at the Blessing Ceremony? Did you only feel happy? Yes? Didn't you feel a lump forming in your throat and shed tears? Weren't your hearts tremendously sorry for not being able to offer greater results to True Father while he was still on earth? Wouldn't it be better if you have successful results while I am still on earth? Do you truly feel this?

Even if I do not say much, you know how you should act and put your life of faith in practice to bring results or fruit from a mature position that you must reach by yourselves. I do not have to repeat that. You know that we must yield results. Don't you? I was greatly moved by the reports and presentations I received. However, this is not enough. You must invest more effort.

Not only Korea but also the entire world must be aware of True Parents. As the regional president of North America just mentioned.... That is so. Let us look at True Parents' birthday. It isn't certain that Christmas is Jesus' birthdate, but we clearly know when True Parents' birthday is. Champumo Gyeong is now completed. Once the English translation comes out, you will be able to study it. We must conduct a movement to let this nation and the world know about True Parents' birthday. In the year that Foundation Day was first celebrated, events were originally held from the 1st to the 13th. Taking into consideration circumstances such as witnessing, Pledge Service and other aspects in the field, I asked that events be conducted within each region and nation until the seventh this time.

Beginning next year, however, True Parents' birthday will be celebrated across each nation through a lot of sharing and giving. Even if a lot of money is not used for this purpose, I would like each region and nation to conduct a festival on this day to give to people and inform them about True Parents. Can you do it?

Once people get to know how much True Parents loved humanity while on earth and how True Parents worked with a life-or-death determination, investing everything to the maximum until their very last moments, gratitude and a true-love movement focused on living for others will greatly spread throughout the world.

True Mother Celebrates “Victory” While Building a Nation

The jubilant celebrations of the 2014 Cosmic Blessing and the first anniversary of Foundation Day culminated with one final ceremony: the Victory Celebration, held at the Cheon Jeong Gung Museum on February 13, 2014 with 500 participants including members of the True Family, leaders of associated organizations, and church pastors. At the gathering, True Mother introduced the Cheon Il Guk Constitution, which will be the foundation of the realization of Cheon Il Guk, and bestowed a copy of the constitution to each individual newly appointed as members of the Cheon Il Guk Council.

Among those appointed were Yeon Ah Choi Moon, Hoon Sook Moon, Hyo Nam Kim (Hoon Mo Nim), Rev. Young Hwi Kim, Rev. Jea Seok Lee, Rev. Kyeng Seuk Lu, president Jin Choon Kim, Rev. Yong Cheon Song, Rev. Hideo Oyamada, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Rev. Farley Jones, and Dr. Thomas Walsh.

Jin Choon Kim was appointed as vice-director of the council and Yeop Ju Hwang as the secretary general. True Mother also bestowed the Cheon Il Guk Constitution on all of the continental directors.

As True Mother looks ahead towards the realization of Cheon Il Guk, these appointments seem to signify the first steps in building more than just a spiritual nation, but a physical one, with a written constitution to be upheld and defended by a system of governance. She also expressed her continued desire to spread the work and message of True Parents throughout the world.

After reports were given from each organization and region, True Mother gave a brief message and said, “It is true that Unificationists worked so hard to prepare this event and the prestige of FFWPU has soared throughout this event, but we should know that it is discomforting that there are still seven billion people who have yet to know about the value of the blessing that True Parents worked for their whole life. Starting from next year, we should let the world know about True Parents’ holy birthday and we should hold an event for this day that we can share with people nationwide. I’m sure that if all humankind knows how much True Parents love them even unto their last moments, the True Love movement will spread all around the world.”

The reports offered much good news in the way of initiatives and programs. The affiliate organizations which included the International Leadership Conference (ILC), Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), Universal Peace Federation (UPF)-Korea, One Korea, Youth Federation for World Peace (YFWP), Segye Times, Tongil Foundation and Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation each spoke about their recent campaigns.

Each continental director was then given the chance to give a “Victory Report.” The reports were a kind of international “State of the Union”, offering a chance for True Mother to connect to all of the events and programs worldwide.

Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, North American Continental Director, introduced Matthew Hill, a second generation Unificationist and American tenor who had sung the previous day at the special Foundation Day luncheon celebration as part of his presentation. True Mother asked Matthew to sing two songs before Dr. Kim reported on the activities of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), education of second generation, and the providence in Las Vegas and Hawaii.

Mr. Dong Mo Shin, South American continental director, reported on in-reach initiatives for Unificationists in Brazil, such as Divine Principle workshops, education of second generation Unificationists connected to Universal Peace Academy (UPA), and on the education of former and current national leaders. Mr. Young Shik Ahn, European Continental Director, reported on Divine Principle and Blessing workshops, as well as UPF activities for second generation Unificationists.

True Mother’s keynote address followed the reports, after which the participants determined to become filial sons and daughters, patriots, and saints who will take advantage of the time they are given and work hard to realize the vision of Cheon Il Guk. The victory celebration finished with three cheers of Eok Mansei led by Dr. Chang Shik Yang.

True Mother Celebrates “Victory” While Building a Nation

The jubilant celebrations of the 2014 Cosmic Blessing and the first anniversary of Foundation Day culminated with one final ceremony: the Victory Celebration, held at the Cheon Jeong Gung Museum on February 13, 2014 with 500 participants including members of the True Family, leaders of associated organizations, and church pastors. At the gathering, True Mother introduced the Cheon Il Guk Constitution, which will be the foundation of the realization of Cheon Il Guk, and bestowed a copy of the constitution to each individual newly appointed as members of the Cheon Il Guk Council.

Among those appointed were Yeon Ah Choi Moon, Hoon Sook Moon, Hyo Nam Kim (Hoon Mo Nim), Rev. Young Hwi Kim, Rev. Jea Seok Lee, Rev. Kyeng Seuk Lu, president Jin Choon Kim, Rev. Yong Cheon Song, Rev. Hideo Oyamada, Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, Rev. Farley Jones, and Dr. Thomas Walsh.

Jin Choon Kim was appointed as vice-director of the council and Yeop Ju Hwang as the secretary general. True Mother also bestowed the Cheon Il Guk Constitution on all of the continental directors.

As True Mother looks ahead towards the realization of Cheon Il Guk, these appointments seem to signify the first steps in building more than just a spiritual nation, but a physical one, with a written constitution to be upheld and defended by a system of governance. She also expressed her continued desire to spread the work and message of True Parents throughout the world.

After reports were given from each organization and region, True Mother gave a brief message and said, “It is true that Unificationists worked so hard to prepare this event and the prestige of FFWPU has soared throughout this event, but we should know that it is discomforting that there are still seven billion people who have yet to know about the value of the blessing that True Parents worked for their whole life. Starting from next year, we should let the world know about True Parents’ holy birthday and we should hold an event for this day that we can share with people nationwide. I’m sure that if all humankind knows how much True Parents love them even unto their last moments, the True Love movement will spread all around the world.”

The reports offered much good news in the way of initiatives and programs. The affiliate organizations which included the International Leadership Conference (ILC), Women’s Federation for World Peace (WFWP), Universal Peace Federation (UPF)-Korea, One Korea, Youth Federation for World Peace (YFWP), Segye Times, Tongil Foundation and Wonmo Pyeongae Foundation each spoke about their recent campaigns.

Each continental director was then given the chance to give a “Victory Report.” The reports were a kind of international “State of the Union”, offering a chance for True Mother to connect to all of the events and programs worldwide.

Dr. Ki Hoon Kim, North American Continental Director, introduced Matthew Hill, a second generation Unificationist and American tenor who had sung the previous day at the special Foundation Day luncheon celebration as part of his presentation. True Mother asked Matthew to sing two songs before Dr. Kim reported on the activities of the American Clergy Leadership Conference (ACLC), education of second generation, and the providence in Las Vegas and Hawaii.

Mr. Dong Mo Shin, South American continental director, reported on in-reach initiatives for Unificationists in Brazil, such as Divine Principle workshops, education of second generation Unificationists connected to Universal Peace Academy (UPA), and on the education of former and current national leaders. Mr. Young Shik Ahn, European Continental Director, reported on Divine Principle and Blessing workshops, as well as UPF activities for second generation Unificationists.

True Mother’s keynote address followed the reports, after which the participants determined to become filial sons and daughters, patriots, and saints who will take advantage of the time they are given and work hard to realize the vision of Cheon Il Guk. The victory celebration finished with three cheers of Eok Mansei led by Dr. Chang Shik Yang.

"The Messiah (at the Second Coming) came after a 6000 year history however we could not attend him well due to our insufficiency. In order for the term "Blessing" to appear in human history… To have the term "Blessing" is a miracle for people who now live on earth. Blessed families are people who received such an amazing fortune, aren't they? Have you accomplished the responsibilities as a filial son or daughter, patriot and holy son or daughter? You should repent.

It is a fact that the image of our church has been upgraded but how much do the people in the world know True Parents? Seven billion people don't know True Parents yet. There is always a right time in Heaven's providential history. You should not miss this time period.

Don't become people who are ashamed of yourselves due to not accomplishing your responsibilities, even if you are in the position where you can bring results. Women here understand this: when you give birth to a child, you can do so even though you are at the point of dying. You should accomplish your responsibilities. Love members, create harmony among brothers and sisters, and attend True Parents while enlarging your environment.

Don't you think it would be great if you can bring successful results while I am on earth? I was impressed by the reports I heard this morning, but they are insufficient. The whole world must know True Parents. Christmas (Jesus' birthday) is not something certain but the birthday of True Parents is obvious. From now on, you should do something that will let the world know the birthday of True Parents. From next year, please hold an event in each country throwing a party and letting people know the advent of True Parents.

How much have True Parents loved humankind on earth? True Father gave his all risking his life to the last second of his time on earth. Don't just sit and only think. You should move your body. I would like to trust you. I am blessing you so that you are able to totally mobilize the spirit world to help you."
