Distinguished guests, parliamentarians, ambassadors for peace, and blessed family members from the Family Federation gathered here! I'm pleased to meet you today.

Today marks the 60th anniversary of the Japanese movement. I hope you will remember that in terms of human life, the 60th birthday is not the end, but a new starting point. There are many problems arising in the world. We have reached the limit of what human power alone can do about them.

Yesterday, as I was approaching Japan in the plane, I saw Tokyo's beautiful sky. As I remember, Tokyo was known as a very polluted city in the 1970s. However, today Tokyo is known as one of the most pollution-free cities in the world. This was possible thanks to you. When we observe the problems of the world today caused by human ignorance -- such as pollution -- we are speechless.

We can see that the future of humanity and of earth cannot be guaranteed. So, what do we have to do? All of humanity should unite, but we need a focal point for unity. In today's world, although there are countries that do well, if the countries that surround them do not do well, they will all be harmed. When will we be able to actualize a free and peaceful world? There is only one answer to this. Human beings are not the center. God is the center, the true owner of the universe. When we live in relation to our Creator and His principles, a world of peace is possible.

God created the heavens and the earth and the entire universe according to His image. He created plants, animals, and finally men and women to be the true ancestors of humanity. He gave them a period in which they were to grow. In that period, they should have grown into beautiful people who can receive God's Blessing in matrimony. Yet they became self-centered. That is why people in the world today do not have a relationship with God. God absolutely has to complete His will. God thus had to begin the painful providence of humanity's restoration through indemnity. Therefore, God raised the chosen people of Israel, until the foundation for a nation could be established.

Christians know this history well through the Bible. How long and arduous this dispensation was! God sent Jesus Christ to be our Savior, the only begotten son. Four thousand biblical years elapsed before that could be done. It took 4,000 years. Even Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, and the leaders of the time did not understand God's will. They did not understand Jesus' essence. So, he had no choice but to take the path of the cross. Indemnity was paid throughout history for this. This is the truth of history. Jesus died on the cross and said he would return. Had the people united with Jesus and stood with him, he would have used the foundation of the Roman Empire to build the kingdom within his lifetime. How very sad and regrettable was Jesus' crucifixion!

After the crucifixion, the resurrection by the Holy Spirit started the Christian civilization by the Apostles. It took 1,000 years for the Christian civilization to reach the British Isles from the Italian peninsula. The British Empire opened the Atlantic civilization to Christianity. That's why the British became prominent in the world. It is said that the sun never set in the British Empire due to its vastness. However, what was the result? They also did not understand Jesus' true nature. Rather than practice Jesus' teachings on true love, they sought their own interests, and their civilization became one of oppression. God does not use people for a second time who have failed to fulfill their responsibility.

Jesus said he would return and host the marriage supper of the Lamb. The 2,000-year history of Christianity was to find the daughter of God who could become the heavenly bride. God has been guiding the Korean peninsula for 2,000 years. He has been preparing it. Thus, in 1943, the only begotten daughter was born in Korea. In 1945, Korea was liberated. It then divided between north and south. It separated along the lines of Democracy and Communism.

At that time, I was still in northern Korea, my homeland. Many Christian groups there believed that the Messiah would return to Pyeongyang. So, in my household, my mother and grandmother did not think of fleeing south. But my uncle, who had studied at Waseda University, could not return to our home so he enlisted in the South Korean Army. We three women eventually decided to go south. Under God's principles of creation, human beings need some time to grow. The daughter of God who came to be after 2,000 years, needed to grow. I needed to grow up in a safe environment. So Heaven worked so that I could come to South Korea.

Two years after I came, the Korean War erupted. At that time, South Korea was not ready to deal with North Korea. Korea was also not well known to the world, but young UN soldiers from 16 countries came and sacrificed their lives there. Because I understood when the time had come, I decided, and in 1960, Father and I became the True Parents. Fallen humanity cannot return to God through belief alone. The fallen lineage must change in order to be under God's dominion. Only the True Parents can change this fallen lineage. Therefore, FFWPU praises the ideal of the Blessing and blessed families.

The Blessing is wonderful, because the more you share it, the greater it becomes. So I am asking you to become heavenly tribal messiahs. By becoming tribal messiahs, blessed families can work for the sake of the nation and the world. We can realize the peace that humanity yearns for and actualize the kingdom of heaven on earth -- one family under God.

There is a title for today's speech: "When is the Point of Settlement of Heaven's Providence and What Should We Do for It Today?" As I said before, even if one person or nation excels, a world of lasting peace cannot be actualized. When we join together, we can succeed. The problems in North Korea and South Korea are the same. As long as solutions are human-centered, true unity will remain just a hope. That is due to only concentrating on one's self-interests. That is also because the solutions are not addressing the whole picture, but rather people are focusing on themselves. The only solution is placing God, the original owner of the tribes, nations, and world, at the center.

During the 60th anniversary of the outbreak of the Korean War [2010], we sent the Little Angels to thank the nations that had sent their soldiers to help South Korea. The veterans still vividly remembered and thought fondly of Korea. This is how we showed sincerity. If you have been graced with blessings, you should repay them.

I would like to speak to Japan. Let us unite, recognize our past mistakes and join hands for a bright future! From a human perspective, some things are impossible to forgive. But True Parents blessed Japan to be the mother nation to live for the sake of the world. You are the mother nation. A mother gives and sacrifices wholeheartedly for the sake of the children. Korea, Japan, and the USA, which represents the world, opened the era for the Asia Pacific Rim civilization. While the culture of heart that our second- and third-generation children are conveying worldwide is garnering great success.

In individualism and egoism, no place exists for the family. But FFWPU should place the family first. Those in our second and third generations are following their parents and actualizing the kingdom of heaven as brave warriors of Cheon Il Guk for the sake of the world. It is our hope.

At this time, our earth is falling ill. I am worried about the future of this planet. Unimaginable and appalling things are happening around the world. These man-made disasters are all a result of human ignorance. Thus, we cannot sit idly by and be satisfied with the present. In light of this, we have worked to heal this planet and brought together scientists, including Noble laureates, to find lasting solutions, in order to restore the world to its pristine, original state.

From a long time ago, the world could have been united through the International Peace Highway, which True Parents initiated. I want to move this project forward and substantiate it. The island nations will connect with continents. I wish to unite Korea and Japan through a Korea–Japan undersea tunnel. I want this road to connect to North Korea and South Korea, Eurasia, and beyond. Already, the African continent announced they would start from the Cape of Good Hope. My wish is for North America and South America to connect from Santiago, Chile all the way to Korea through the international highway.

Will it then be possible for Japan and Korea to unite through that project? Isn't it possible? I knew you would feel the same. This nation is Heavenly Japan, and when it attends God and fulfills its responsibilities, the other nations of the world will revere Japan as the mother nation. Isn't that so? Won't that day come?

Righteous people need to recognize the mistakes of the past. For the sake of the future, we should unite FFWPU, UPF, WFWP, and YSP and march forward for world peace. I hope today is such a blessed day!

We Have Reached the Limit of What Can Be Done By Human Power Alone

Respected guests from at home and abroad and leaders from all areas of society. I am so pleased to meet you today to honor the Japan movement’s 60th anniversary. In terms of a human life, the 60th birthday is not the end but a new starting point. Today, when we look at problems in the world we can conclude that we have reached the limit of what can be done by human power alone. When I was approaching Japan in the airplane, I saw the beautiful sky over Tokyo. Today Tokyo, which in the 1970s was known as a very polluted city, is known as the capital city with the least amount of pollution. This is possible because of your hard work. When we look at the problems around the world caused by human ignorance – such as pollution – we can see that the future of humanity and the earth cannot be guaranteed. We can see that all of humanity should unite, but we need a focal point for that unity. Today I would like to share with you how we can realize the world of peace that all humanity yearns for. There is only one answer: human beings are not the center. God is the center, the true Owner of the universe. When we live in relation to our Creator and His principles, a world of peace is possible.

God created the heavens and the earth and all the universe in keeping with His external aspect. Finally, He created a man and a woman. He gave them a period during which they were to grow; in that period, the man and woman were responsible to grow and realize their potential. Yet the first ancestors became self-centered, and that is why people in the world today are not in a relationship with God. God thus had to begin the painful providence of restoration of humanity, through indemnity. Thus, God raised the people of Israel, until the foundation for a nation could be established. How long this dispensation took! To this fallen world, God sent Jesus to be our savior. Yet four thousand biblical years elapsed before that could be done. Even Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, and the leaders of the time, did not truly understand the essence of Jesus, and so he had no choice but walk the path of the cross. Indemnity was paid throughout history for this. Had the people united with Jesus and stood with him, he would have used the foundation of the Roman Empire to build the kingdom within his lifetime. How very sad and regrettable was the crucifixion of Jesus! The center of Christian civilization has moved across the world, through the Atlantic civilization – the sun never set on the British empire, so vast it was. But rather than practice Jesus’ teachings of true love, they sought their own interests, and this civilization became one of oppression.

God does not use for a second time a people who have failed their responsibility. The 2000-year history of Christianity sought to find the daughter of God who could become the heavenly Bride. In 1943, in Korea, the begotten daughter was born. In 1945, Korea was divided North and South. At that time, I was still in North Korea, my homeland. Many Christian groups believed that the Messiah would return to Pyongyang, so in my household, my mother and grandmother did not originally think of fleeing south. But since my uncle had enlisted in the South Korean military, we eventually decided to go south. I needed to grow up in a safe environment, so Heaven worked so that I could come to South Korea. Two years after I came south, the Korean War erupted. Young soldiers from 16 nations came to protect this nation. And thus I too was protected.

I knew when the time had come, and in 1960 Father and I became the True Parents. Fallen humanity cannot return to God through belief alone. We work to multiply blessed families The Blessing is wonderful, because the more you share it the greater it becomes. So I am asking you to become heavenly tribal messiahs. By becoming tribal messiahs, blessed families can work for the sake of the nation and the world. We can realize the peace for which humanity years, One Family under God. Today’s title would be: “The Point of Settlement of Heaven’s Providence, and What We Should Do at this Juncture.” Even if one person or nation excels, a world of lasting peace cannot be actualized. It is when we join together that we can succeed. As long as solutions are human-centered, true unity will remain just a hope. When people put aside personal interests then all is possible. If people do not place God at the center, we cannot find a true solution.

During the 60th anniversary of the beginning of the Korean War [2010], we sent the Little Angels to thank the nations that had sent their soldiers to help South Korea. This is the principle that we have to repay the grace we have received. Let us unite, recognize our past mistakes and join hands for a bright future! From a human perspective, some things are impossible to forgive. But True Parents blessed Japan to be the Mother nation to live for the sake of the world. What are the characteristics of a mother? A mother gives and sacrifices wholeheartedly for the sake of the children. And the culture of heart our 2nd generation children are conveying worldwide is permitting great successes. FFWPU should place the family first. Let us be the hope of the future by taking care of our second and third generations and realizing Cheon Il Guk as brave warriors of Cheon Il Guk. Our 2nd and 3rd generations are doing this right now. This is our hope!

This afternoon's event, held with some 20,000 members and guests in attendance, at the Saitama Super Arena, exemplified the commitment and heart of our Japanese members. They produced a series of beautiful entertainment pieces in dance and song, plus video of True Parents' life and work with a focus on the history of our movement in Japan. There was testimony from the younger generation, words of congratulation, and a final pledge of re-determination. This brief report focuses on Sun Jin Nim's speech to introduce True Mother and an overview of Mother's speech.

FFWPU for a Heavenly Japan President Tokuno Eiji's Greetings

Rev. Tokumo warmly welcomed everyone and thanked them for coming. He mentioned that it was 60 years ago this summer that Father asked Choi Bong-choon (Sang Ik Choi) to go to Japan as a missionary and how he began his mission by smuggling himself into Japan on a boat. Miraculously, in less than two years, he established HSA-UWC Japan in Tokyo (October 1959). Rev. Tokuno said, "We have received unconditional love from True Parents, and their words. They have protected and blessed the Unification Movement here for 60 years."

Rev. Tokuno then alluded to some of the major happenings around the world in recent weeks and months, including the June 12 USA-North Korea Summit in Singapore ("The world is watching to see if this will lead to peace."), refugee immigrants; the transfer of the US embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem; climate change; and the fact that in Japan 55 percent of homicide is committed with in the family. He also mentioned Japan's low marriage rate and low birth rate. "The Unification Movement was born to give hope in relation to these issues."

Rev. Tokuno then mentioned the Holy Wedding of Father and Mother in 1960: "The wedding of Sun Myung Moon and Hak Ja Han Moon was the actual beginning of our movement."

He spoke for some minutes more, in particular to introduce Mother's work around the world, including events Mother had presided over in Africa (Senegal), in Vienna, in Busan, and in Gyeong-gi Province in Korea.

My heart is always moved whenever I come to this blessed land, for I know the enormous sacrifices that you have made for the sake of this nation, and for the sake of the world. Over the past 60 years, Japan has been at the forefront of Heaven's providence. You have shed your blood, sweat and your tears to attend and support our True Parents and realize HP dream of one peaceful loving family under GOD.

Please accept my words of appreciation and love. Kamsamnida. Arigato gozaimas. Thank you, from the bottom of my heart.

We are gathered here today to honor the past, but also to make renewed determination to forge a bright future for our children and for generations to come. This is the mission of the Family Federation for a Heavenly Japan. AJU!

True Parents have always had the deepest love and respect for the people of Japan, recognizing that Japan and the Japanese people have an historical, providential role to play at this time in history. They have always seen Japan as a mother nation to the world, a parent who lives for the sake of all of God's children and who works to restore all that was lost in the past.

Our keynote speaker today is none other than Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, our beloved True mother. Together with my late father, my mother has been an unwavering champion of peace. In my heart of hearts, I recognize her as the most courageous female role model of our time, she is a liberator of humanity and creation, and the embodiment of purity, goodness, and absolute true love.

For 52 years she stood side by side with my father, as a devoted, pure, loving wife, giving birth to 14 strong-willed and passionate children. Since the time of our True Father's passing, she has led our worldwide movement forward with wisdom, grace, and clarity, surpassing all expectations. She has ignited the torch of hope and peace for all 7.5 billion people of the world to see.

She has always lived for a public purpose, working all across the globe, founding charities, schools, scholarship programs, and educational organizations that raise our youth to be peace-loving global citizens.

From the time of her birth, she has been guided and protected by heaven. She has offered everything in her lifetime to God, giving everything she has to fulfill His dream of peace. Even in her golden years, a time when most retire, she valiantly carries this torch of hope across the globe so that we can all come to achieve True Love and True Peace.

She is my hero. She is my guru. She is our salvation. She is the light of Hyojeong, True Love, and liberation for all.

As my mother delivers her message today, I sincerely hope you will give her your full and complete attention. She is calling upon all of us to rise up as the champions of peace, to become manifestations of Heavenly Parent's love and truth so that, together, we can usher in a new world order of lasting peace and prosperity for the whole human family and creation.

Please join me now in giving a warm and thunderous welcome to Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, my beloved mother, and our beloved True Mother.

Our Heavenly Parent is the Creator; He Created the Ancestors of Humankind

Dear Excellencies, political and religious leaders and blessed families from Subregion One, we have come together today wishing for the reunification of North Korea and South Korea. Isn't that true? We need to recognize the truth that the providence has been moving forward through this nation. The original owner of the universe is God. Our Heavenly Parent is the Creator. In his image, he created heaven and earth and human beings; he created a man and a woman to be the ancestors of humankind. God bequeathed to human beings a special growing period. Their responsibility was to grow and absolutely unite with God. After they fully matured, they would receive the marriage blessing and become the true parents of humankind. However, Adam and Eve, who were supposed to be the ancestors of humankind, became too ambitious in their growth stage [as if saying] I can also be like God! Today's fallen humanity began from that thought.

The omniscient and omnipotent God cannot disregard the principle of creation, which he established. That means God must absolutely complete what he has willed. His providence of salvation, the providence of restoration, based on indemnity and intent on finding humanity, which had lost the way, took an excruciating six thousand years.

Replacing the original ancestors

Heaven was searching for someone in the fallen world who could complete all the indemnity conditions and bring victory back to Heaven by becoming the true parents, humankind's original ancestors. Two thousand years ago, God prepared the Israelites and sent Jesus Christ. If sending Jesus was that arduous and difficult, how much of a foundation had to be built for a true parent to appear after the long period of four thousand years? God needed a foundation to send his only son, Jesus Christ, someone whom he could finally call his son. The Israelites and providential figures should have created a welcoming environment for Jesus. (Even Mary, who gave birth to Jesus, could not fulfill her responsibilities.) They did not understand Heaven's providence. They did not know what kind of person Jesus was. Their ignorance once again caused God to feel sadness. Today's Christians believe that they receive salvation through the blood from the cross. How surreal and foolish is this? That sin caused their father, their parent who had come to bring salvation to the fallen world to die early. We cannot just sweep that mistake under the rug.

We know indemnity was part of the course of the Israelites of history. Even knowing this, God has never given up on humanity and has longed to embrace us. We need to remember this. However, after Jesus' crucifixion, we saw the start of Christianity, though it began with the Apostles and the resurrection through the Holy Spirit. The problem is that central figures have been leading the providence with human beings as the center, and the two thousand years of Christian history has seen repeated failures.

Even if I do not say everything, you all understand. Thus, God has been searching for a new people to bless with the birth of the only daughter that he had been unable to find. God cannot reuse the same people that did not fulfill their responsibilities, because there is indemnity left. Jesus died on the cross and said he would return, and with his return, he would hold the marriage supper of the Lamb. Those words mean that Jesus was originally supposed to attain the position of a True Parent. However, today's Christians do not comprehend Jesus' original nature. They are unaware of God's providence. Christians said they would take on God's will as an organization, but the Christian foundation stifled God. Communism appeared and declared there is no God. How terrible was that from a heavenly standpoint?

The true devastation of the Korean War

Today, I specifically want to talk about June 25. In 1950, along with the liberation of Korea, the country divided into two -- North Korea and South Korea and the Korean War began. North Korea's communist regime had fully prepared for the invasion. However, South Korea, as a democratic country, was still developing. There weren't any strategies or countermeasure to respond to the threat of communism. At that time, this country was still unknown to the world. Though the superpowers had divided it, people around the world had not heard of Korea. How was it that the UN Forces from sixteen countries mobilized their armies; men sacrificed their lives in this country? This is what we call a holy war. Do you think this happened by chance? You have to know what the Republic of Korea is. Before we can wish for unification on the Korean peninsula, we are a country indebted to the world. We have to live for the world's sake in gratitude. By the way, what are we thankful for? Economic power? Political power? No.

A hundred years ago, a great Indian poet, Tagore, wrote a beautiful poem about Korea. "In the Golden Age of Asia, Korea was one of the lamp-bearers. That lamp waits to be lighted once again for the illumination of the East." He wrote this when Japan was occupying Korea.

How can this country become the bright light of the East? We here need to know this. This nation must know God. It must understand the deep meaning of the lyrics in the national anthem, "God protect and preserve our nation. Hurray for Korea!" Why would God protect the nation? Because this country gave birth to God's only daughter, whom Heaven had been preparing for six thousand years in order to complete the providence. In compliance with the principle of creation, God must give his only daughter time to grow and mature. For a child to lead the providence as soon as she is born is not possible. Because of this, Heaven has to protect God's only daughter as she matures until she finds her own independence. Korea's liberation in 1945 and the Korean War breaking out in 1950 were results of my birth in 1943. That is also why Heaven will absolutely use this nation to fulfill God's providence and why the unthinkable miracle occurred of the UN Forces protecting our democracy.

I remember that in the evening of June 25, 1950, rain drizzled down, and the procession of refugees was forming. We joined in the procession, but my grandmother had us return home, because her son was an army officer and he might contact us. Then, suddenly at dawn, my uncle drove up in a three-quarter-ton jeep and told us to get in quickly. We crossed the bridge over the Han River. Many of our soldiers were joining the procession, with no end in sight. Though I was a child, I clearly remember everything.

The nation God chose

There is no other path to victory for this country besides the nation uniting unconditionally with True Parents, because this is the country where True Parents are responsible for the fulfillment of the heavenly providence. Every time difficulties arise, Heaven protects us, this nation, through the True Parents. From the position of a middle-aged person who has grown beyond the first fifty years of her life, I say this country is the homeland of faith to people that have accepted God's providence. In light of that, I ask all of you to convey this nation's dignity as a light to the world and take responsibility as a people whose families have received many blessings.

As Tagore suggested, that road is the light of truth. It is the true word. True Parents' teachings opened the era of the Pacific Rim civilization. The Asian region, centered on Korea, is moving toward the world with a revolution to bring about the culture of heart and with values based on true love. We will fulfill the dream of one family under God when humanity centers on our Heavenly Parent. The kingdom of heaven on earth is exactly that. Won't you all rise in Heaven's presence for the realization of a free, peaceful and unified kingdom of heaven on earth, in which no more conflicts, struggles or wars exist? I am going to conclude now. I once again pledge before Heaven that all of you in Subregion One will march forward hand-in-hand so we become a nation that can stand tall and proud before the world. 2018 Rally for the Liberation of Patriotic Martyrs and for North-South Unification

Today's Rally for the Liberation of Patriotic Martyrs and Determination for North-South Unification was organized and attended by the members of sub-region 1 (one of the five sub-regions in Korea) – that is, the cities of Seoul and Incheon, but still drew a capacity crowd of ten thousand at the Cheongshim Peace World Center in Seorak, Korea. The following brief account covers the main aspects of the program including testimony by third-generation students and parts of Mother's speech.

The event's opening was graced by classical entertainment, most memorable among which was a group of middle-aged North Korean ladies, who had at one time or another made their way to the south. Their leader spoke movingly, in tears, about the suffering caused by the division of the country and of the people from each other.

The MC (Moon Sang-pil, CARP leader for Korea) welcomed everyone and emphasized that people around Korea and the world were participating.

There followed a brief yet poignant Blessing Ceremony officiated by Rev. Ju Jin-tae, regional leader of sub-region 1, and his wife.

Hyojeong Offering Papers were then brought before the altar of God and dedicated to the liberation of patriotic martyrs of Korea.

All present then offered a thirty-minute Chanyang session, led by the staff of the Cheongpyeong Training Center, for spiritual purification and the liberation of anguished spirits.

A video presentation was then followed by the Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem. A young 3rd generation member then read a prayer for the liberation of Korean martyrs. She prayed "that we can all join in devotion for the liberation of North and South Korea, and realize the dream of establishing God's nation. …and that we can grow into global peace-loving citizens with a common heart for peace."

Invited guests were then introduced, and they included four congressmen. Most of the congratulatory messages sent by a large number of politicians on both national and provincial levels (including, for example, the Speaker of the National Assembly the Chairman of the Seoul City Council) had to be left out due to considerations of time.

Eight religious leaders then took to the stage to offer prayers for peaceful reunification of Korea. The final prayer was the "declaration to heaven" – a prayer of liberation for the spirits of the martyrs – was offered by Korean FFWPU president Lee Gi-seong. [Interpreter's translation follows:]

Dearest and Most Precious Heavenly Parent! Beloved True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind!

Today, on the 11th day of the 5th month in the 6th year of Cheon Il Guk, June 24, we are hosting the 2018 Liberation of Patriotic Martyrs & Determination Rally for the Unification of North-South Korea today at Cheongshim Peace World Center.

Dearest and Most Precious Heavenly Parent!

The Korean people followed a path of blood, sweat and tears for about 5,000 years and became a people that could understand your sorrowful heart. On the foundation of having established the values of loyalty, filial piety, and virtuousness, you victoriously paid all indemnity for restoration on a people's level. And now 68 years has passed ever since the whole of Korea was covered in blood from the Korean War, the final battle place between God's side and Satan's.

Beloved True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind!

This was no tragedy resulting from a simple fratricidal war but a providential holy frontline to liberate the returning Messiah, to protect Your only begotten daughter, whom you could establish in 6,000 years, and for the emergence of the True Parents of humanity. Yet, there are still many souls who have not been able to rest, roaming around the nation weeping sorrowfully. Hence, I pray that you may liberate them through the authority of the Emperor of Absolute Victory over the whole and the True Emperor of Cheon Il Guk with Holiness and Virtue so that they can all shout for the eternal reign of peace in the eternal spiritual world.

Beloved True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind!

All blessed families and peace ambassadors of Sub-Region 1 prepared for this rally in all devotion. Hence, I pray that you may bestow your grace of liberation to all the patriotic martyrs on the Abel side and also on the unfortunate souls on the Cain side. Please guide the spiritual worlds on both the Cain and Abel sides to harmonize and unite through filial hearts centered on the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, and pour down on us the heavenly fortune to usher in the era of a united heavenly Korea! I reported all this in my name Lee Gi-seong, president of FFWPU for a heavenly Korea and blessed central family, Aju!

Two heartfelt speeches were then given by 3rd generation members expressing filial love for country and appreciation of the sacrifices made by those who have gone before. For completeness, because these are the young members who will help shape the future our movement, we are including here the full, basic translation of their words (done by the interpreter prior to the event):

Miss Choi Yeong-eun

Good morning. I am a third generation member and am in my first year of middle school. My name is Choi Yeong-eun.

My grandfather received the 777-couple Blessing. My parents received the 2nd Gen Blessing ceremony and they are presently pastors at Cheon Bok Gung Church.

My father first introduced me to volunteering work at the national cemetery. Ever since, I have been regularly doing volunteering work there.

The only volunteering work I did until then was what was requested of us in school. Hence, to be able to volunteer for people who died for this nation was thrilling and I really looked forward to it.

Before setting off for the national cemetery, I had the opportunity to listen to a message by our former sub-region leader.

He said that those who lay at the national cemetery will be happy to see three-generations of blessed families volunteering together and that True Parents will be happier. After hearing this, I felt this volunteering work was a precious activity connected with True Parents and was determined to do my best.

This was my first time to visit the national cemetery.

It was much bigger than I had expected and was quite surprised to see a lot of graves there.

When I saw the numerous gravestones, I realized that many people had sacrificed their lives for this nation. My heart ached at the thought of it and I was overwhelmed with gratitude. Thanks to the many unnamed people who protected this nation at the risk of their lives, our nation could develop to this degree and we are enjoying its many benefits. After this realization, I paid tribute with more reverence.

The adults cleaned the weeds around the gravestones while we changed the flowers in front of the gravestones into new ones. We would also wipe clean the gravestones.

While wiping the gravestones, I saw one stone plate in front of a gravestone and suddenly was overwhelmed with tears.

The message "I'm proud of you my son" was written on that stone plate.

I felt sad thinking of how the mother would have felt upon hearing news that her precious son had lost his life in the war.

If I were to hear news that someone in my family had lost their life in a war, how would I have felt? Just thinking about that was quite painful.

I participated in the volunteering work with all my heart with the thought that no such tragedy should happen again.

I thought about those who sacrificed themselves for this nation. Though volunteering at the national cemetery is not something big, I felt a bit more cheerful and proud at the thought that they will be a bit happier in the spiritual world.

Volunteering wasn't easy. The weather was hot and we were really sweaty. Yet, I obtained much more through it. I felt happy as I was able to feel Heavenly Parent's and True Parents' love even more strongly.

Finally, when I visited the hall exhibiting the articles of the deceased heroes at the national cemetery, I was able to see their photos and articles. At times, I was completely overwhelmed by emotions.

In one letter sent by a soldier to his mother, the following was written, "Last night, I dreamt of you Mother. It was a dream like spring!" I felt the soldier's longing for his parents and felt a lump in my throat.

I read about a young man who was sent to war as a soldier despite his young age. This young soldier jumped in front of a grenade thrown by an enemy soldier to save his comrade and died in the process. I wondered how I would have reacted in such a situation, and became very serious.

Though True Parents are not in an actual war with gunshots nearby, I thought about how they always show us true love in their war-like lives, dedicating themselves for the sake of humanity and felt even more grateful.

If North Korea and South Korea unite, I believe that such pain will no longer exist. I sincerely hoped that the two Koreas become united centered on True Parents and tragedies such as the Korean War never happen again.

Doing volunteering work with my parents at the national cemetery, I was able to deeply reflect on the kind of heart and life I needed to practice. It was a very meaningful time for me.

I will always strive to become a blessed child that can illuminate with True Parents' love.

I express my sincere gratitude to my many teachers, True Parents and Heavenly Parent for well concluding this volunteering work.

Mr. Jeong Bok-hyeong

Good morning. I am a third-generation blessed child and my name is Jeong Bok-hyeong.

My grandfather [Jeong Su-won] received the 36-couple Blessing and also served as the national messiah of Ukraine. My father received the 2nd generation 72-couple Blessing. Following in my grandfather's footsteps, he is presently working as the national leader of Ukraine. Thanks to my grandfather and father, I also dreamt of becoming a public leader that conveys True Parents' Will. I am now working as an evangelist in the Youth and University Student Department and have gone one step closer to that dream.

I spent much of my adolescence overseas due to my parents' mission work. Hence, I did not have much chance to think about unification like friends who live in Korea. Last month, however, I directly participated in volunteering work conducted at the Civilian Control Line. This made me deeply think about unification.

Our volunteering work at the Civilian Control Line was about helping landmine victims that lived in the vicinity of the border. Our team helped the farm work of the family of a victim, who lost a leg due to landmines at a young age. The victim died three years ago.

This victim stepped on the landmine that blew off his leg on a path he had regularly taken. Ever since, he walked using a prosthetic leg. Yet, I was told that his heart was more painful than the pain caused by his severed leg. I realized that this tragedy had befallen on quite a number of local residents. Thinking about that, my heart felt so frustrated at the division between the two Koreas and I repented for the lack of interest until then. This activity helped me directly feel the pain of the war, even if little, and made me think a lot. I offered a prayer of gratitude to Heavenly Parent and True Parents for giving me this opportunity.

Do you know the country named Ukraine?

Ukraine is located at the border between East Europe and Russia. In the process to get away from Russian influence and become an EU member, civil war between pro-Russian and anti-Russian parties broke out and is still going on. The civil war broke out when I was in my 3rd year of university in Ukraine. Back then, I was afraid and worried, and I asked my friends if it weren't too dangerous. Surprisingly, my friends replied,

"It's safer than Korea. So don't worry."

Back then, we simply laughed but now that I think about it, I feel that there are no other country living under the threat of war as much as Korea.

Through this volunteering work, my dream has been to achieve unity in Korea at all cost.

Then what can I do to bring about unity?

I thought a lot about it in an effort to find that answer.

True Parents said that we must arm ourselves with an ideology centered on Heavenly Parent's true love in order to be able to embrace North Korea, which is armed with Kim Il-sung's Juche ideology.

Hence, I came to the conclusion that we, the young people, need to first know the meaning and importance of unity from the perspective of Heavenly Parent and True Parents, and continue to lead a life of sharing and practice based on our understanding of North and South Korean societies. There may be some difficult contents, I believe it is time to advance without stop in the same manner as True Parents, who dedicate themselves toward the establishment of Heaven's nation on earth.

I also believe that if we continue to live a life of practice and all join together in offering devotion for True Parents' providence for the unification of North-South Korea, we will be able to go one step closer to the joyful re-unification of the two Koreas.

As a third-generation member, I will do my utmost best to complete the duties of my filial heart for True Parents and become a child that achieves our True Parents' dream. With warm passion as a youth of Subregion 1, I pledge to become a victorious child.

I offer my gratitude again to Heavenly Parent and True Parents, who are always with us in true love.

After a video introduction the youth of sub-region 1 danced the "Unconditional" dance that has become a feature of events where True Parents are present.

Regional leader Rev. Ju Jin-tae's speech followed on. In his speech he drew attention, with examples illustrated with photographs, to True Parents' work to counter the influence of communism worldwide and to promote the reunification to the two Koreas.

He said:

In 1991, they visited North Korea and had an independent meeting with North Korean leader Kim Il- Sung. They were the first people to receive North Korea's proclamation to denuclearize on paper. This has received just appraisal in history, and it is even introduced in author Kim Jin-myeong's novel, Prediction.

With regard to recent events he also mentioned the following:

In February, the Little Angels were part of a Pyeongchang Winter Olympics opening performance titled "Taeguk: Harmony of the Universe." During this performance, I was surprised to see President Moon Jae-in and North Korea Special Envoy Kim Yeo-jeong [the sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong-eun] watching the performance together. It felt as though God was bestowing unspoken blessings for the unification of Korea on the two leaders and I could not contain my excitement.

Two politicians then spoke very passionately about the work for Unification, expressing their admiration for the work of our movement in support of that cause.

Representative Shim Jae-gwon

Representative Shim thanked the organizers including the leader of our Citizens Federation for North and South Korea. He said, "It is 65 years since the ceasefire. I feel FFWPU has been investing so much effort for the unification of Korea. I cannot express how difficult last year was [in the area of North-South Korean relations]. I believe that the Panmunjeom meeting of the leaders of North and South Korea set us on a path toward unity and prosperity, and I hope that the work will unfold well."

He mentioned that through sports and cultural exchange they hope to create the footsteps toward unity, and invest all effort in creating a firm foundation. "More than government efforts, the resolve and the will of the people will be crucial. I ask the members of the FFWPU to lend their support."

Representative Kim Yeong-woo

After thanking all the leaders in the movement who have devoted their attention to the issue of reunification, Mr. Kim specially thanked Mother for her work. He mentioned the work of the Citizens' Federation's nationwide work to educate the nation about reunification issues, and that the organization had received government citations and even presidential awards for its efforts. With regard to North Korea, he alluded to both the de-nuclearization issue and the human rights issues as ones on which progress must be made. Saying that we must achieve peace and unity on the Peninsula, he encouraged everyone present to work together for that.

With the speeches concluded, and after a video introduction of True Parents, True Mother was welcomed to the podium.

This is a partial representation of Mother's speech at the 2018 Liberation of Patriotic Martyrs [of Korea] and the Determination Rally for North-South Unification, held in Korea today, June 24, at the Cheongshim Peace Word Center in Korea. (This content is from notes and summarized. Please do not rely on it for quotations or official use in presentations or publications.)

Respected guests from home and abroad, religious and political leaders

The Original Owner of the universe is God the Creator. Adam and Eve thought they could become like God and this is what led to the Fall of humankind. Our omnipotent God could not abandon the Principle of Creation through which He created the universe. And so He guided the path of restoring all of fallen humanity through indemnity -- the providence of salvation.

Heaven has worked to lay the necessary conditions of indemnity so a victorious person who could be the ancestor of all humankind could come. The providence worked through Israel first, to send God's son; It took 4,000 painful years before Jesus could come.

Yet the people could not understand the identity of Jesus; due to human ignorance the providence was frustrated and much suffering that followed for the people of Israel.

Christianity emerged, and, through the Holy Spirit, the apostles led its development. But people let their selfish desires guide their actions and many awful sins were perpetrated.

Heaven worked to send the only begotten daughter who could not emerge at the time of Jesus, and sent her to Korea.

Yet at that time humanistic and secular thought were rising up and even amid the Christian real, amid the people who believed in Christ, communism emerged declaring that God was dead. How miserable this would have been for God.

This nation suffered the terrible division between North and South by the influence of the great superpowers. On June 25, 1950 North Korea invaded the South -- which had not been able to develop the necessary structure to protect itself. Despite threat of NK aggression it had remained unprepared. Yet sixteen nations mobilized young soldiers who shed blood, sweat and tears to save this nation. This was not just human effort or happenstance. It was Heaven's work.

We wish for the unification of North and South Korea, yet we in South Korea must recognize our debt of gratitude to the world. As a result, Korea must exist for the sake of the world. What can Korea do for the world?

Tagore's poem mentions the day that Korea rises again to become the bright light of the east. At the time he was writing, Korea was under Japanese occupation. How could it become the bright, shining light of the East? We need to clearly understand the truth. This nation needs to understand God. In our national anthem we sing, "May Korea live for 10,000 years under the protection of God" -- in accordance with the Principle, God gave a portion of responsibility.

I remember a day. It was raining and I could see a line of refugees fleeing. I was in that line too. [After we reached Seoul] My grandmother said "Because my son is an officer in the South Korean army HQ, let us wait" And my uncle came with a car and brought us across that Han River. Because of one person's decision, the lives and deaths of many young people were decided. Mercilessly killed. They stopped allowing people to cross the Han River. I can remember the look in the eyes of the people who were denied the possibility of crossing the bridge.

So the mission of our people is to take responsibility to complete Heaven's Will. We must unite with True Parents and march as one with them. If we are unable to do so, we cannot win the victory.

Before we ascend to the spirit world we must make sure this nation is one in which God can dwell. This nation must stand tall before the world. You must stand tall as blessed families and fulfill your responsibility as citizens of this nation.

The light the poet Tagore spoke of was the light symbolizing the words of truth. True Parents have opened the Era of the Pacific Rim civilization.

Please become this light so all of humanity can actualize one Family under God. We will realize the heavenly kingdom on earth, where there is peace, unity and quality. Let us rise up and realize such a world together. All members from Region 1 can join hand in hand and make a firm pledge before Heaven.

After Mother concluded, everyone sang together "Our Cherished Hopes Are for Unity" and the rally came to a conclusion with four great cheers of Eok Mansei.

2018 Rally of Hope and Determination in Yeongnam for a Heavenly Korea

Esteemed Dignitaries, Ambassadors for Peace, and leaders from all fields! In particular, young people who will lead the future and blessed families of the Family Federation!

We gather today for the hope of a unified Heavenly Korea, which we have longed for, where North and South can become one. Looking at this nation and world, we can see that human effort and intelligence cannot solve today’s challenges. Great efforts have been made thinking about how to achieve a peaceful world. But the results were always the same.

That being the case, we have to organize a movement that properly attends God, the Creator and Owner of the universe. The Bible says that originally, when God made all things, He created them according to His image Minerals are divided into plus and minus, plants into stamen and pistil, animals as male and female, and humans were created as man and woman to be the ancestors of humanity. They were Adam and Eve, of whom the Bible mentions.

And God gave humans a responsibility to fulfill during their growth period. In other words, humans should have grown in absolute faith, absolute love, and absolute obedience to God. However, halfway through, they became ambitious. 'I can also become like God too!' Thus, they gave rise to the current fallen humanity. God’s principle of the creation cannot change. God has been longing for the day where the good ancestors of humanity could and understand the principle and his will and fulfill their responsibility. God's providence has been the work of salvation.

The indemnity period for a good nation and people to rise in the fallen world and establish a nation was so long and arduous, but finally, after 4000 years, God sent the Messiah, Jesus Christ, whom He had promised. But humans did not know heaven’s providence. They did not know why Jesus Christ had come. Both Mary, who gave birth to him, as well as Judaism and the Israelites failed to fulfill their duty to him. The birth of the only begotten son in 4,000 years is not the end for the son. The only begotten son was to meet the begotten daughter, create a true family, and come into the position of True Parents to save humanity.

Through history, we know the indemnity that the Israelites had to endure for not creating a foundation for the Messiah. Before being crucified, Jesus announced that he would return. Christianity began with the work of the Holy Spirit and the apostles who were waiting for Jesus to return. The early days were so hard. Many were persecuted and martyred. Even so, they kept their hearts waiting for the return of the Messiah and developed the Christian culture.

Being that way, what else should modern Christianity prepare for while waiting for the Messiah? God does not reuse a people or person who does not fulfill their responsibility. God has to choose and prepare a people that can give birth to the only begotten daughter and, finally complete the Providence. That is the Korean people of Asia.

I was born in 1943. The only begotten daughter must be born through a Christian foundation. Korea became independent in the year 1945. Following the liberation, the country was divided into north and south, communism and democracy. In those days, all the intellectuals and the Christians came to the south, but the people of spiritualist groups that awaited for the return of the Messiah could not make a decision. At that time, God made me come to the south. This is how God guided me, and after 2 years of coming to the South, the Korean War broke out.

By then, the North had already prepared and organized everything, but the South had neither the structure, nor the base to confront the North. Under those circumstances, and in the midst of providence, as the only begotten daughter, God had to give me time so that I could fulfill my responsibility. And thanks to the miraculously 16 countries that mobilized with the UN forces, South Korea now exists. Regarding that, what you should understand is that the Korean people were specially chosen and prepared as the chosen people. That being the case, these people have a responsibility to fulfill. What is that responsibility?

Today this people should feel gratitude for the deep love of God that helps them overcome crises every time they are in difficulties. Knowing the providence, although I was a girl, I decided, and in 1960, the True Parents were born. But, just as in Jesus' time, Christianity did not become the appropriate environment. While we were in the position of True Parents, we had to start from the bottom until today. This year was the 58th anniversary of the Holy Wedding. It's been more than half a century.

Knowing God's longing, we have sought a world of peace. Fallen humanity cannot go directly before God. For that reason, a Savior is needed. True Parents are the saviors. Through the Blessing, which gives rebirth to all the children of the fallen world, True Parents make them reborn as blessed families. From this point of view, all of you gathered here, have lived different lives in many aspects; But, the only thing that can give them hope for the future is that they find True Parents and be reborn as true children.

Today I say to many blessed families that they should become tribal messiahs. The Blessing must not end up being something that belongs only to you. You have a responsibility over three "generations": the responsibility of guiding your ancestors and your descendants, protagonists of the future. That is the responsibility of the blessed families that will make God able to embrace this fallen world. Only when blessed families fulfill their mission as tribal messiahs and advance to the position of national and world messiahs can a peaceful world which humanity has longed for and Heavenly Parent’s ‘One Family’ be achieved,. To realize this, True Parents had to overcome many sacrifices and difficulties, and plead with God to not abandon Christianity and its foundation despite knowing the pain felt by Heavenly Parent that they could not fulfill their responsibility.

Well this country also had difficulties, and the US which was prepared by God for world providence, was getting sick. In the 1970s, we went to the US, to make them aware of their illness. And if we could educate them when they were already on the threshold of communism, so that they would protect the democratic world, it was because we were the True Parents making efforts that cost blood. Thus, at that time, we trained young Americans and sent them as missionaries to the whole world. For 40 years, they did not change their motivation and today they obtain amazing results in Africa and Asia. Now, I tell them. The future of this people is not determined by the political force of an individual. There will only be hope in the future when the original owner, God, the Creator, is served. Even if it’s now, I hope you will remember that only when this nation attends to Heavenly Parent and moves towards the world, it will fulfill its responsibility to the world as a blessed nation.

100 years ago, the great Indian poet, Tagore, wrote a poem for Korea: "The day you turn your lamp on again, you will be the bright light of the East". What does light symbolize? It symbolizes the truth. It is not human truth. Genuine truth can only come from True Parents centered on God. That is why many tribal messiahs of Asia, centered in Korea and Japan, are opening a new era for the Pacific Rim civilization. They are raising the banner of the revolution of the Hyojeong culture of heart, and with the true love of living for the sake of others, our 2nd generation, our future leaders, are reaping amazing results all over the world.

When I went to the USA in the 70s, I saw a show about the Wild West. The name of the series was ‘Bonanza’. It began with a map that consumed by fire and the map of the new far west arose. Today, in this place, especially where the Unified Kingdom of Shilla was born, do you not dare to become the spark and redraw the map of the immense homeland of God, the homeland of faith, the map of a Unified Heavenly Korea with the north? A United Heavenly Korea. Our center is Heavenly Parent and True Parents.
