Translation of unofficial notes taken by the Unification Church History Compilation Committee
Summary of Father's words:
We've risen quite much. Now we have two passes to surmount: the family and the nation. Cain has dominated in advance the fields in the family and nation. That is why he kills Abel who is trying to recover this. Blood was shed.
You all at one point have thought: 'That scoundrel! I wish I could kill him.' Nobody, however, would think 'I should give him blessings' about his enemy. You have to do the opposite. People who wish death for their enemies can never find a world of peace. Try interpreting this concept. It is not something vague. I am not ambiguous in what I say.
What is this book? It is the 'Peace Messages.' I named it 'Pyunghwa Hoonkyung' like the books in the Chinese classics of Confucianism. Hoonkyung consists of the Chinese character hoon meaning 'to teach' and 'kyung' meaning the truth. It's to find the path through the words of peace. To perfect these words, you have to go in and out of the realm of these words. You should not have anything in you that go against these words.
You have to know how important Hoon Dok Hae is. As the day passes you can get deeper into it. Without a sacred book people forget. Because there is a book you can find freedom. Members of the Unification Church may think that the words I said ten, twenty years ago are in this book but the words in here are alive. They are not without life. What have you to do with these words? Are you the father, grandchild or citizen's of these words? You have to become the owners of these words.
How can you explain the killing of the younger brother by the elder brother in Adam's family? What should be done to restore the younger brother? If the elder brother has already formed a people, you have to enter a correlating level where you can form a people. If the elder brother has already reached a national level, Abel too must reach that level and be better than his elder brother.
Those who wish to die live and those who wish to live should not do this. For fallen men they refuse to do this wondering why life should be so wearisome. Where do the things you enjoy begin from? It begins from the body. To cross the sea of desire you have to cross it with a paddle of conscience. But people have paddled across with their physical bodies. They have always exploited the conscience. They left it behind and blocked the conscience from going on the path of its desire. You have to be aware that the body had committed a historical crime against the realm of the conscience. Then from where can this be liberated? You cannot separate good and evil within your mind and body without shedding blood and tears. Without doing so it cannot be separated. You have to separate it by entering into a state of death. Anything that is separated belongs to the victor. That's how the Abel realm began.
What was the Second World War all about? It was a historic war where brothers fought against each other on the side of God or on the side of Satan. It was a battle to see which side would rise to the pinnacle of the world.
Women are quite interested in jewels and precious stones, aren't they? Precious stones do not change. Yet, women are capricious. They love precious stones because the stones are unchanging. Does the golden hue change after tens of thousands of years? No, it is absolute. What is the most representative stone that is unchanging? It is gold. Diamonds are substantial and solid. Pearls represent harmony.
I went to [elementary] school after quitting my studies in Confucianism. I was 16 and much larger than my peers. I was old enough to have graduated elementary school and be in the second or third grade of middle school. I went to elementary school and began by learning my ABCs. Imagine how embarrassing that was. I knew Chinese characters that even my teacher didn't know but the teacher knew things which I didn't know so I had to learn. They were my teachers when I was learning. But any teacher that I wrestled with I prevailed. I was learning from them but at the same time teaching them as well. I told them 'I am what I am today but you just wait and see what happens ten or twenty years from now.' Why? I made effort for twenty years more than anybody else. I made ten times and even twenty times the effort. That is why I have automatically risen to these levels.
Weddings in Korea are actually marriages between clans. They look at the household. They categorize the families -- seeing if it's a scholar household or a soldier household before marrying. When I bless people I look at their face, their gate, and their chest. I bless people who have a rising fortune with those who have a descending fortune. By doing so, it harmonizes the two and both can live well.
People normally look at the physical features of a person but I look at the heart. When I visit I nation I see that the nation will not last long. When I am about to cross over a new borderline my feet do not move. That sometimes happens. There is a pine tree in front of the Cheon Jeong Gung. I named this mountain Cheon Sung Mountain, using the Chinese characters cheon meaning 'heaven' and sung meaning 'divine.'
[In the past] whenever I come back from a foreign country I always go to the Chung Pyung Training Center. It's actually a touch climb up the mountain. Whenever I went up this mountain I would stand under this pine tree. The view from there was breathtaking. We built Cheon Jeong Gung around this pine tree. It's probably more than a hundred years old. Everything I said while sitting under that pine tree so many years ago have now come to pass.
I read the Cheon Seong Gyung without sleeping. I doubt any of you here do that.
