‘Peace Ambassadors’ of the Universal Peace Federation (UPF), Liberia Chapter, have described as irreplaceable lost to the world, the death of Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon, following his death.

Rev. Moon who is also founder of the Unification Church and renowned global campaigner for World Peace and unification died early Monday morning in South Korea from complications of pneumonia. He was 92.

In a statement issued Wednesday in Monrovia, the charter of UPF said that, “Rev. Moon has left indelible footprints on the sand of time and that his countless positive contributions not only to Liberia’s peace and progress but the entire world would forever, be remembered.”

The Peace Ambassadors, including Mother Brownell, an educator and women’s rights activist; Maryland County Senior Senator John Ballout, Ambassador Brahima Kabbah, Dr. D. Evelyn Kandakai, former Minister of Education, Dr. Togba Nah Tipoteh, a distinguished statesman among others, said Rev. Moon was indeed a soul of inspiration for world peace and progress.

“Rev. Sun Myung Moon has blessed humanity with indispensable teaching that calls for commitment to, and the restoration of family values,” said Senator John Ballout, “I respectfully commit myself to the teaching and ideals of Rev. Moon, which I consider as universally applicable.”

“Rev. Dr. Sun Myung Moon will certainly be remembered for his universal support to peace consolidation and sustainability through the establishment of National Peace Councils (NPC), of which Liberia immensely benefitted,” said Madam Mary N. Brownell, Chairperson of UPF Liberia chapter.

“I call on all Peace Ambassadors the world over to reaffirm their commitments to revitalizing Peace councils, which is an important element of Dr. Moon’s legacy,” Madam Brownell stressed.

Dr. Togba Nah Tipoteh, a distinguished Statesman, Rev. Kortu Brown, Bishop Cyrus Cromah and other members of the Honorable House of Representatives, among others also expressed condolences and admirations for Rev. Moon’s innovative contributions in nearly all areas of human endeavors.

They spoke recently at a hotel in Monrovia, during the signing of the book of condolence in memory of Rev. Moon.

Dr. Evelyn Kandakai, Former Minister of Education, has meanwhile described Rev. Moon’s departure as a monumental lost to the world. “May the Universal Peace Federation take solace that the True Father, the Rev. Sun Myung Moon has made a difference in the world. Peace advocacy and family life will never be the same again. May God rest His soul and long live the UPF! We in Liberia have become better citizens of the world by our association with the UPF,” Dr. Kandakai noted.

A visionary businessman and lifelong champion of the free press, Rev. Moon founded newspapers, magazines, electronic media outlets and digital publications in the U.S., Japan, South Korea and many Latin American, African and European countries.

The energetic evangelist traveled the world numerous times and went on speaking tours as recently as 2011.

He started or inspired hundreds of organizations and met with countless world leaders, notably such communist leaders as former Soviet Prime Minister Mikhail Gorbachev and North Korea’s Kim Il-sung, the Liberian peace ambassadors added.

Prior to his death, Dr. Moon, in July 2011 visited Africa including the Federal Republic of Nigeria where he predicted that the country which is the continent’s most populous nation would enjoy peace and progress and would be a shining star in terms of development and progress.
