Note: These notes are taken from a simultaneous translation. Simultaneous translation is done in summary form and depends greatly on the translator's ability to communicate the essence of the message. These cannot be published as definitive texts and should never be used in the future as an "official" publication on Rev. Moon's words. However they do provide a good idea of the "spirit" of the message.

Hoon Dok Hae this morning was held in True Parents' Suite at the Waikiki Marriott Hotel. I entered their suite at 4:30 a.m., thinking that I was on time, only to find that it had already started. It turns out that True Parents had started Hoon Dok Hae at 10 p.m. the night before with a group of Korean leaders.

When we entered, Wonju McDevitt was reading one of Father's speeches from the late 1950s about Jesus. Due to the lack of any microphone and speaker system whatsoever, it was difficult to hear Father and would have been impossible to interpret. Therefore, I took my laptop and sat in the second row and took notes instead. Here are my notes.

Father asks Bishop Ki Hoon Kim to report.

Archbishop Ki Hoon Kim:

True Parents arrived yesterday.

The Haig family was grateful that True Father held the UN event for his family. Father created a flower garden for Haig's grave.

Four events have been held so far centering on Haig's family and other Ambassadors for Peace and other leaders.

Father asked us to stay and pray for Haig at his grave. People saw us pray and took pictures and I believe were inspired.

I was unclear about the meaning of the Seunghwa Ceremony myself, but Father explained that Seunghwa connects us to eternal life, and is the beginning of our new life in the spirit world centering on True Parents.

True Father is emphasizing [that we study and teach from his] textbooks and teaching materials. Father said that we have to do Hoon Dok Hae of these books on the earth and in the spirit world. Our ancestors are to do Hoon Dok Hae with us on earth and in the spirit world, so Hoon Dok Hae is the way for our ancestors to be connected.

I got a phone call from Rev. Barrett in Chicago who wanted True Parents to come to Chicago to hold an event there. Rev. Barrett said that he would give up his church to have True Parents' educational program there.

Many ACLC ministers have been inspired due to the Seunghwa ceremonies. ACLC ministers now want to hold these ceremonies in their churches. Through these events, the Unification Culture is being given to people so that all the nations can recognize it. This is part of the reason for holding Seunghwa ceremonies on the public level.

One minister in America (head of a denomination of 4 million) who sent a birthday message to True Parents this year expressed that he wants to teach True Parents' teachings in his church. He came to an ACLC event and heard about True Parents' activities. These heads of denominations are inspired to hear about how Father wants to create a united peaceful world.

We have developed ACLC to a level where it is impossible to find other evangelical organizations with such harmony among ministers. When Father first came to USA, he devoted everything for the salvation of Christianity.

Father has been emphasizing Farrakhan. Farrakhan recently held a 30,000-member event in Chicago. He sent a positive message to True Parents recently. He heard about the ACLC – he wants to participate on April 24 in a Chicago ACLC prayer breakfast. True Parents will be testified to at this prayer breakfast. Church of God in Christ is the name of T. L. Barrett's church. At the last prayer breakfast, a bishop of his church joined ACLC, giving $1,200 membership fee.

Father asks Dr. Jun Ho Seuk to give an inspirational message for the Japanese members gathered at Hoon Dok Hae.

Dr. Jun Ho Seuk:

One Family Under God can only be established through the Blessing, where we receive God's love, life and lineage. Cheon Il Guk can be fulfilled through:

  1. Cheon Bok Gung Completion
  2. Settlement of True Parent UN
  3. True Parents' teachings established around the world
  4. Completion of Tribal Messiah mission (through Father's autobiography)

All members should work to fulfill these four items.

Within the textbooks, one can find True Parents' true love, heavenly tradition centering on true love. Through the textbooks, all Blessed Families should live lives at high noon settlement. Through this, the world of the Shim Jung culture can be established.

With this goal, True Parents started the Heavenly Calendar this year.

Father called for 1,200 people who had graduate degrees 48 years old or younger to come to Korea for a special workshop. Due to lack of response, people with university degrees and all church leaders 48 years or younger were also asked to come.

During the workshop, participants offer 210 bows daily, listen to Original Divine Principle lectures, give testimonies (two members per day were asked to give a testimony to the group), listen to presentations based on Father's textbooks, visit the Seodaemun prison to experience the torture Father experienced there, and -- to experience the seven deaths and resurrections -- are put into coffins, nailed in, and given time to reflect and repent on their past lives.

Every Friday, there is a written test.

Father said that now the entire spirit world is mobilized. So we need to have absolute faith, absolute love and absolute obedience, passion about God's will, and the determination to overcome death.

We have to study Father's teachings and bring people to the Blessing through giving them Father's teachings.

True Father:

Koreans, you should match your relatives in Korea to relatives of Japanese members in Japan.

Dr. Chang Shik Yang:

Father has been keeping the leaders up all night, offering special devotion for today's event.

The United Nations represents the entire world

Washington and New York represent the United States

Hawaii represents the center of the Pacific Rim providence

Today, the Seunghwa of Rev. Won Pil Kim will be held in Korea at the same time that Father speaks here in Hawaii. So Rev. Won Pil Kim's picture will be included at today's event.

Please make a determination today to support True Parents who are working to save humanity.

Rev. Pak Won Geun:

Father's autobiography was first published on March 9 last year. I told Ambassadors for Peace at an event about the book. One lady was inspired when she read the book, so she bought ten copies and gave them to her friends. Seeing how inspired she was, I held a meeting of UPF leaders in Kangwon Province. We held a speaking tour for the autobiography. Varying amounts -- 18, 100, 60 -- of books were sold in each area. In Wonju, there was a Christian elder who was a bookstore owner. The book inspired this person. "Rev. Moon is a pioneer, religious leader, the greatest person born of an Eastern woman. It is a great blessing that we are living at the same time as he. He is exemplary to have had 14 children. [His autobiography] was fun to read. I read it in three days. I usually only look at pictures but I actually read this book. He is a great leader of this people. Whether he is a heretic or not is something for God to evaluate."

I sent the autobiography to 720 Christian ministers. 20 books were returned due to having been sent to the wrong address, and only 9 books were sent back rejected. I gave out 2,500 copies myself, and 30,000 copies were given out by people in my province.

If we give out a lot of copies of Father's autobiography, the atmosphere changes. Father called me to Las Vegas to give out copies of his autobiography. I gave it to 200 Koreans in Las Vegas. In a dream, I was told to give the autobiography to President Myeong Bak Lee, so I sent it to him with great sincerity.

True Father:

Japanese members should also give out Father's autobiography in Japan to help their nation become a greater nation. The autobiography has that power. Japan should set a record that could be recognized in all the nations of the world.

The autobiography opens up the way to speak and meet with anyone.
