Dear brothers and sisters,
During the Sept. 3rd Hoon Dok Hae, True Father spent a long time discussing the fundamental problem in all human beings, the problem of unity between mind and body. He frequently inserted his own words during the passage readings of the Hoon Dok Hae by Won Ju McDevitt. He described the mind of God as like a person who is distributing money in the streets and wants to give more and more. We should not do anything to make God sad. We have to walk a path that will make our mind happy. If we have a mind of meditation, we will acquire a deep mind. And how shall we be able to unify our mind and body? Only with true love. This should be the slogan of the Unification Church: that our mind and body be so united that cosmic power will always protect us.
As if to initiate the revival of humanity right here in Kodiak, he announced today that our most important task in Kodiak is witnessing. Father wanted the international trainees to give something back to the community, after learned so much in Kodiak. We invited people to a sumptuous sushi dinner at our church owned restaurant, the Powerhouse, followed by an International Cultural Night, filled with international entertainment and a presentation on the vision of Reverend Moon and the Unification Movement.
Certainly the folks in Kodiak have been observing us for the past 15 years and might have made up their minds about us. As we actually entered the different parts of town, we found the people were very up front and clear in their opinions about us. We usually got a very clear "yes" or a very clear "no" with typical responses: "I am really not interested at all in what you have to share" or "Will you get off my property right now?" But there was a sense of victory in the air as the evening testimonies showed a total result of 48 people who bought tickets for the event; there were missionaries, a school principal, and some prominent citizens who confirmed. Rev. Yang capped off the evening sharing with the history of the ocean businesses in America and a wonderful film clip of Hyun Jin Nim’s meditation seminar recently at UTS.
Very truly yours,
