41st True God's Day Midnight Prayer

7,000 members from Korea, Japan and other countries gathered in the main hall of the Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center to greet the New Year.

Hyo-jin nim, Hyun-jin nim, Kook-jin nim, Sun-jin nim, Hyung-jin nim and their spouses, Dong-sook nim, Hoon-sook nim and children of these families were present this day representing the members of the True Family.

Seven minutes to midnight, True Parents in hanbok came to the stage. True Father and True Mother stood at the center of the stage facing each other and waited silently in prayer.

Rev. Chung Hwan Kwak counted off the seconds and at exactly midnight, True Father offered the first prayer in the New Year. True Father prayed for twelve minutes. Then with Hyo-jin nim, Hyun-jin nim, Kook-jin nim, Sun-jin nim and Hyung-jin nim standing by Father wrote the motto for the New Year.

Photos were taken and then following Rev. Kwak's lead all participants offered a bow to True Parents and the members of the True Children. The midnight event ended with three cheers of mansei led by Rev. Sun Jo Hwang.

41st True God's Day Service

1,800 members from Korea, Japan and other countries gathered in the main hall of the Cheon Jeong Gung to take part in the 41st True God's Day service. An overflow of another 5,000 were at the main hall of the Chung Pyung Heaven and Earth Training Center viewing the ceremony through relay.

Thirty minutes before the start of the ceremony Rev. Kwak came up to the podium and explained the meaning of the new motto that True Parents gave that morning, explaining the recent developments in God's providence of realizing True Parents' peace dream.

At 8:09 am True Parents and members of the True Family entered the hall. True Parents lighted the seven candles that were set before the offering table. After True Parents were seated, Rev. Kwak led the participants in offering a bow to God and True Parents. Participants then recited the Family Pledge in Korean. Rev. Kwak and his wife offered the representative prayer. True Parents then cut the celebration cake and handed out the offering food to the members of the True Family while giving instructions for the fruits and other offering food to be distributed to the participants.

Rev. Kwak then gave an explanation about the significance of True God's Day based on Father's words and read some excerpts from the Cheon Seong Gyeong. A blessed couple then offered a flower bouquet to True Parents.

True Father then spoke for forty minutes. As he spoke Father, had Rev. Yang Hur sing 'Ulsan Arirang'; he also had a number of members stand and dance. After this brief entertainment True Father asked Hoon-mo nim (Ms. Hyo Nam Kim) to give a brief report on the recent developments in the spirit world.

Hoon-mo nim spoke for about ten minutes. True Father then asked Rev. Hwang to tell the participants the instructions he gave to him in the morning prior to the service.

Rev. Hwang explained the meaning of the Sabbatical Year and Jubilee year, and explained the significance of the providential jubilee year from a providential viewpoint.

After finishing his report, Rev. Hwang led the participants in four cheers of mansei. The service concludes at around 11:15 am.
