Kook Jin Moon -- May 9, 2012
Beginning in February 2011, Kook Jin Moon has been telling South Korean audiences of the need for them to pay attention to the changing international environment and make the necessary preparations to defend their country. He delivered the following message on Oct. 18, 2012, at Mt. Mani on Ganghwa Island to more than 4,000 people attending an event sponsored by the National Campaign for a Strong Korea, which he jointly chairs along with Dr. Kim Min Ha.
Thank you for coming today.
Mt. Mani is a mountain with strong spiritual significance for our people. Coming to this mountain reminds us of the heroic greatness of our people and the fact that we have maintained our history for nearly 5,000 years.
At the same time, Ganghwa Do is a reminder of some of the tragedies that our people have suffered during that history. The king and members of his court sought refuge on this island when the capital was besieged by foreign invaders. Today, the island sits adjacent to the border between our divided people.
The Cheonan and Yeonpyeong Do incidents of 2010 occurred not far from here. In those incidents, China told us to be quiet even though our people and our soldiers died. Chinese fishing boats are becoming increasingly aggressive against the coast guards of many neighboring countries. One of our maritime policemen was killed in a conflict with a Chinese fishing vessel. Earlier this week, a Chinese fisherman was regrettably killed while our maritime policemen were defending themselves against violent attempts to prevent them from enforcing the law.
There has been peace in Northeast Asia for the past sixty years because of the presence of United States military power. Now, that power is becoming weaker. The United States is cutting its military spending, and the cuts will become even more severe if President Obama is reelected.
Meanwhile, China is increasing its military spending at an alarming rate and building aggressive weapons, including aircraft carriers and submarines. One study says China may have thousands of nuclear weapons hidden in underground tunnels throughout its vast territory. On a purchasing power parity basis, China's military spending is already about 70 percent of the U.S. spending. And China can concentrate its military forces in Asia, while the U.S. has commitments on all the world's continents.
We see tensions rising between China and Japan over the Senkaku Islands.
It is clear that the world is in transition. The United States, which has protected us, is becoming weaker. China, which has invaded our country more than any other country, is becoming stronger. Every time in history that China became strong, our people suffered.
Our people, not just the politicians but all the people, need to understand what is happening in today's world. Too many times in the past, our country became the victim of change, because we refused to look at the realities of the world around us. We need to understand the changes in today's world and what these mean for our country. We need to make the necessary preparations so that we can pass through this transition with our independence intact.
My father foresaw this transition many years ago. Reverend Sun Myung Moon is the Messiah, Savior and Lord at the Second Advent.
He understood clearly that our country's people, together with people in Japan, the United States and other democratic countries, must make important choices in this age, and that these choices will determine the future of the world.
He told me to educate the people of Korea about the need for our country to maintain a strong national defense so that we are not invaded again.
This is the work of the National Campaign for a Strong Korea. We are working to educate our country's people at every level of society so that we do not repeat the mistakes of the past that caused us to lose our sovereignty.
Our country's fortune has always been closely related with the international environment that surrounds us. We are a small country surrounded by large countries, and the actions of these countries affect the fortunes of our people.
We have been invaded almost one thousand times. When our country was strong, our ancestors were able to defeat the invaders and protect our people. In many cases, though, invaders took our people as slaves and took our sovereignty from us.
If we don't pay attention to the changes in the international environment, our people may suffer again as we did in the past. Of course, our leaders must do this, but it is not enough to leave it up to our leaders. We are not a monarchy or a dictatorship. We are a democracy. This means every citizen shares in the responsibility for the future of the country.
You and I, the entire population of this country must take responsibility for our country.
We have been invaded almost a thousand times. Let's make our decision today that we will never be invaded again!
Let's make our country the central pillar of peace in Northeast Asia. Let's bring peace through strength!
Thank you.
Kook Jin Moon has asked to be relieved of his position in the Tongil Foundation

Kook Jin Moon -- April 23, 2012
Kook Jin Nim has asked True Mother that he be relieved of his position in the Tongil Foundation by a majority vote of the Foundation's board of directors. He said he was acting in response to True Mother's decision to turn the Foundation over to new leadership.
Speaking Wednesday at a previously scheduled luncheon with members of the 36 Blessed Couples, Kook Jin Nim said he did not feel free to resign as Chairman of the Foundation because of promises he made to True Father. Before Father went to the spirit world, he asked Kook Jin Nim not to leave his position as Foundation Chairman and to help and protect International President Hyung Jin Nim, he said.
Though he is not resigning, he will not resist the board of directors as they move to relieve him, Kook Jin Nim said.
Tongil Foundation is governed by a seven-member board of directors. The members are Kook Jin Nim, Hyung Jin Nim, Yu Jung Ok, Peter Kim, Lee Dong Han, Seok Jun Ho and Ahn Jin Sung.
The bylaws of the Tongil Foundation allow a majority of the board to request a meeting of the board. On receiving such a request, the chairman is required to call such meeting within 20 days. Kook Jin Nim said he has asked Peter Kim to gather the necessary signatures from board members to initiate this process. He said he would like for this process to play out in the next seven days so that he can leave Korea and return to the United States.
Kook Jin Nim told the 36 Blessed Couples attending the luncheon that he was grateful for their support and assistance during his eight years at the Tongil Foundation and that he hoped the church and its organizations would continue to develop after his departure.

Clarification about Kook Jin Nim
David Konn
October 1, 2012
Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I want to first say that in the past Damian's website Unification.net has been a great service for our movement. I want to thank Damian for his past work. However in recent years there has been a change. In particular, you may have read recent posts from Damian [Anderson] via Unification.net about Kook Jin Nim which are basically saying Kook Jin Nim is a thief and a philanderer and he is disobedient to True Mother.
I am sorry to report that from these last two articles on Kook Jin Nim, Damian is not taking care to reveal the truth, it appears that he is trying to create sensationalism to attack anything related to the True Family.
His Unification.net site has become a place for propaganda half-truths to create negativity and sensationalism which is used by those who seek to damage the work of True Parents. For those who do not know Kook Jin Nim they are shocked and dismayed these untruthful articles and it is a clear violation of Shim Jung.
My experience with Kook Jin Nim
I have worked with Kook Jin Nim in Saeilo Machinery for 11 years from 1995 to 2006. In 2007 I left to start my own company following my passion for human wellness. In 2009 I again began to work with him again through Il Hwa which I am doing today. So I knew him before and after the Young Jin Moon foundation was created and before and after he went to Korea to help Tongil Group.
This is a most critical time for us to unite with God, True Father, True Mother and Hyung Jin Nim. I believe Satan is desperately trying to create doubt, division and fear. We should speak truth and practice a daily life of truth and love. With this heart and mind I feel compelled to make this memo to shed the light of truth. Let s prayerfully work together centered on our True Parents as we rush toward Foundation Day.
Here are the facts about Kook Jin Moon. The Young Jin Moon Foundation is a nonprofit entity and a related party to Saeilo Enterprises. The money generated is created from investments and used to support the seminary and other church projects. Because Saeilo is a related party the board of directors are listed and they must show their salaries. These are salaries for their business work for Saeilo. Their position with the Young Jin Moon Foundation is volunteer and they receive no income.
Kook Jin Nim receives nothing from the Young Jin Moon Foundation but he helps manage the investment. The $360,000 is his salary as CEO of Saeilo Enterprises. He still runs Saeilo Enterprises and built it up from a bankrupt company to what it is today. Saeilo Enterprises is a multi-million dollar, very profitable company which Kook Jin Nim is still managing and developing. At the same time he is working his ass off in Korea for the Tongil Group as an offering without pay. At first he saved the Tongil Group which was heading toward bankruptcy and he ended the subsidies. Now the Tongil Group companies are profitable and growing. This was done in attendance to his parents and an offering to support the church. His work in Korea has created in my estimate well in excess of $100,000,000 in profit for our church with no personal income. This is all as an offering. Kook Jin Nim also played an essential role in preventing more assets to be stolen by the Kwaks and Hyun Jin.
There are many points about his separation and divorce from Soon Ju who is a most beautiful and faithful heavenly daughter and then his blessing to Ji Hye which are not reported. It does not fit the spin Damian is looking for to create the sizzle. One simple legal point to note is that the blessing is not a legal wedding, their legal wedding was held after the divorce. There are many deep internal points that God and Soon Joo, her parents Rev. Yu [Jeong Og Yu] (the OSDP lecturer) and Kook Jin Nim know but we do not.
IN MY OPINION YOU SHOULD NOT TRUST WHAT DAMIAN WRITES TODAY. His story about True Mother firing Kook Jin Nim and many other statements like saying that Kook Jin Nim accused True Mother of euthanizing True Father was also not correct. IF ANY OF YOU KNOW DAMIAN, PLEASE SPEAK WITH HIM AND SHARE YOUR LOVE WITH HIM SO THAT HE CAN AWAKEN AND STOP SENDING OUT WORDS THAT DAMAGE THE HEARTS AND CONFUSE THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW. HE IS GOING DOWN A DARK PATH.
The following is further explanation
I agree that we need to follow the truth and True Parents. Although True Parents are the Messiah they are human as was Jesus. They have freedom and will make mistakes but their heart is totally with Heavenly Father.
One point to note is that Kook Jin Nim is not interested in any position per se and certainly does not want the Church's money. He really did not want to go to Korea when he was asked to take over the Tongil Foundation. He would happily leave if someone else could do the job. He went out of loyalty to his parents and somewhat from his faith understanding of Divine Principle at that time. He grew tremendously spiritually in Korea by uniting with his younger brother Hyung and being with True Parents and struggling to carry out True Parents requests which included the lawsuits and continuous libel attacks from UCI and many other entrenched groups. Kook Jin Nim changed a lot during this time as he focused to support True Parents, Hyung Jin Nim and our church.
Hyun Jin and Kook Jin Nim Relationship
Kook Jin Nim has had a close relationship with his older brother Hyun Jin in the past. Among the true children Kook Jin Nim was closest to Hyun. It was heartbreaking for Kook Jin Nim when Hyun was unwilling to follow True Father's directions. He said that Hyun has had a problem with arrogance for years and True Father was trying to help him to change. This is why True Father asked Hyun to stay with him for 1 year. I saw how Hyung Jin changed from his 1.5 years with True Father and how Kook Jin Nim changed. True Father finally had the foundation directly educate his sons. This has not been a struggle between brothers. It is that Hyun did not want follow True Parents direction. Now Hyun is completely unwilling to listen to True Mother.
I believe in the principle of Vertical restoration through horizontal indemnity and I think this is being played out before our eyes. We are also going through it personally. I think we all need to stay focused on the Divine Principle and True Parents and then make every day count as we march towards Foundation Day. What we can do is to control our own hearts, minds, words and actions.
Kook Jin Moon held a series of meetings with Japanese Unification Church leaders

Kook Jin Moon - April 1, 2011
Kook Jin Nim Friday made a day-trip to Japan, where he held a series of meetings with Japanese Unification Church leaders. It was his first visit since True Father's Seonghwa and 93rd since early 2009, when True Parents assigned him to help Japan navigate its way through a dangerous crisis that threatened the church's status as a legal entity.
During Friday's meetings, Kook Jin Nim thanked the Japanese members for the important roles they played during the Seonghwa. Everyone knows by now that the beautiful flower arrangement on the stage were provided by a Japanese company contacted through the Japanese Church.
In addition, some 35,000 Japanese members traveled to Korea during the two-week period to offer their respects. The exact number is not known. The Church knows about the approximately 32,000 who went to Korea using the Japanese Church's official registration process. Others -- there's no way to count how many -- went on their own, often taking a morning flight to Korea, going to CP and returning the evening of the same day. Not enough seats were available on regularly scheduled flights, so eight charter flights were arranged. Someone estimated the total transportation costs at around 4 billion yen.
For Japan now, continuity may be the most important. The members need to know existing efforts to move toward a more member-centered church will continue.
The government needs to know efforts to come into greater harmony with Japanese society will continue.
Those who make a commercial enterprise out of violating our members' human rights need to know that efforts to hold them morally and legally accountable will continue.

I would like to welcome all of you; I would like to thank you for coming here to pay your respects to my father. He was truly not just my father but he was the father of all the people of the world. During this time of mourning, we've had the opportunity to receive more than 100,000 people who came to pay their respects to True Parents. All around the world millions of people have visited altars we have set up for our church members to offer condolences at. We are truly grateful to all of you and to all the people of the world that paid their respects. Our hope and our prayer is that you remember, and you feel deeply -- keel deep in your hearts -- that our True Parents came to earth, suffered and lived their life for us. They suffered for us all, so that God may forgive us of our sins, and that we may be qualified to enter His kingdom to be with Him.

We pray that all of you may receive God's blessing so that together we may complete our True Father's vision of creating the kingdom of heaven on earth. Thank you very much.
