Hyung Jin Nim Talk: "Holy Spirit is back in Unification Church, since 30 years of absence!"

[Note: These are my paraphrased notes as I took notes listening to the service]

Hyung Jin Nim's New Instructions and Explanation about Repentance and Healing Service Throughout Unification Church (Korean members are coming to these services every night, at least 350 people)

Self-Guilt and Self-righteousness are both result of lack of true repentance. What is the purpose of Creation? It is not ideal peaceful world; it is God's true love, true object partner. Therefore True Parents is the purpose of Creation. The value of True Parents is greater than value of "world Peace"!...

Holy Spirit is back in Unification Church, since 30 years of absence! It has come back due to true spirit of Repentance. Jesus said, "In order to live, you must die". This means in order to be able to inherit the love of God, we must repent of our sin. We follow God's commands because we love God, not because we fear him.

...In the past, if somebody made a mistake, he/she had to get out of the church and was not allowed to come back!... The difference between members, is not sinner and non sinner, but it is between repentant and non-repentant, grateful and non-grateful to the grace and forgiveness and love of God!... Repentance is taking the "spot-light" off of yourself, and putting it on God and True Parents!"

Hyung Jin Nim testified that once we truly repent, our church can stop being "divisionists" (as we label each other most of the times) and become truly "Unificationists"!

He testified, before the healing service, Korean members and western members would not be able to hug each other for greetings part of most Sunday services Hyung Jin Nim has observed; they would look for somebody from their country to hug! However, it all changed after the healing repentance services. All members became one and would not differentiate who they are hugging! Many were healed of major sicknesses, including several non-members from several major evangelical churches in Korea.

Hyung Jin nim, now wants to train leaders to conduct similar healing and repentance services throughout our church. His main instruction is that anyone that leads these services, must admit that he is a sinner himself/herself, and any healing that occurs as a result of this service, is not in any way due to his or her abilities, but due only to the power of Holy Spirit centering on True Parents.

Ever Filling True Love

Good afternoon, brothers and sisters,

Let's manifest the Principle first. Give and receive action, four position foundation, may we inherit the true love of God, and glorify Heaven through my ascension. Aju.

As you noticed today, we are going to have a little different format than usual. You know, this week is a very important week, because it is God's Day in the lunar calendar year, and True Parents' birthday is also coming this week. So last week we did the Holy Spirit Healing service. We sent a lot of Chi energy to True Parents; and they definitely felt it. Father had a lot more energy the whole week, and we were able to send that feeling energy towards him. So during this week also, it is just as important for us to give True Parents energy, so that everything can go smoothly and well. And it is the heart of the children to want to care for their parents.

So today we are going to be going into the Holy Spirit Service, but first I'll say a couple of words, and then we have a new section. And this one year section is very important. It is made for anyone who is leading this service. So right now we are training out Hoonsa nims and Moksa nims and normal members to be able to lead these services. But it is very important to center yourself before the service, and make sure you know that it is not about you when you are doing it. It doesn't matter who is up here leading the service, whether it be a True Child, or anyone else, it doesn't matter. We have to make sure that it is not about us when we are up here, and make it all about God and True Parents. So, that one section that we will go through today, you will notice it when we come to it. Let me start with sharing a couple of words now, and then we will move into sending healing and energy towards True Parents. Their never-failing True Love. Let's start with Ephesians 2:4 through 10:

But because of His great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions -- it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ, and seated us with Him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of His grace, expressed in His kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith– and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God -- not by works, so that no one can boast. For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

Aju.

These are some beautiful, absolutely incredible words by Saint Paul, and really touching on the key of faith. You know, Saint Augustine said that there is a gaping hole in the heart of every person. Every person has a hole that we try to fill with many things. We try to fill this hole with money, with power, with fame, and with self-esteem even, with self-love or self hate. We fill it with success, accomplishments; we try to fill this hole with many things. But in the end we are unhappy. Saint Augustine said that there is only one thing that can fill that hole in your heart; and everybody has that hole. That hole can only be filled by the love of God. That is what he said.

When we look at normal religion, and we compare it with truth, then we can see a very big difference between religion and truth. Of course, true religion should be centered on truth. As Unificationists, we also are centered on truth. And that is why we believe that when True Parents come, all religions can be completed. In normal religion, it is because we are good people, and follow the laws prescribed by God, or the laws that lead to liberation, depending on tradition, that you can attain salvation or a place before God in heaven, because you are obedient to God, and obedient to His rules. That's why you can go before God.

So in a sense, it is because of our deeds and our effort that we put into those deeds, that we can go before God.

But truth is totally different. Truth says that it is going to hurt; that you have to look at yourself very honestly. You have sin. You are a sinner. This is what it says. Truth does not try to tell us only good things. It tells us, look at yourself, you have sinned.

We did this exercise last week, did you ever lie in your life? Of course, anyone who says no is lying. We know that we have lied during our life. Did we ever steal, did we ever envy another person, did we ever hate another person? Yes, you did. Other than our spouse, did you ever lust after another person? Everybody, at least every man in here has to say yes. And Jesus said that if you even lusted after another person, other than you spouse, you have committed adultery. So then we are adulterers. Not only a liar, and a thief, and people who hated and resented God at one time, and cursed God, many of us did that. I know that in my life I have done that. And what do you call that? You call that a blasphemer.

So when you look at yourself honestly, even myself, I realize that I have been a liar, I have been a thief; I stole erasers and pencils from my brothers when I was young. Stole some stuff from stores, like candy, and stuff like that; adulterer, and blasphemer. I hated God at one time, resented God.

You see, truth tells us the truth; which is that you cannot go before God, because we are nice people, or we have done a great job. That is not enough, because God is a perfect God, and unless you are perfect like God, you can't go before Him. So truth reveals that we have sinned, and that we are flawed and imperfect, unlike God who is perfect, and we must be perfect to go before God; even though we might want to believe that. And this is the critical distinction between normal religion and truth.

Truth teaches us that we can't go before God because of us. We go before God because of the one He has sent. We go before God because of the inequities and the pain and the torture that Jesus walked when he walked the way of the cross; when he had to go through that. We call that spiritual salvation in our tradition; That we can be justified in front of God, because of Jesus, and his death. Although that wasn't the greatest path, the desired path; we can still receive spiritual salvation. If you are a Christian that basically means "justified before God."

It is because of grace. As people with sin, we have to be punished. That is what a righteous God would do; but it is because of the grace and God's love, that we can go before Him. This is really the critical difference between normal religion and truth. And as those who are with True Parents, who fulfill the mission of Christ, to allow us not only stand before God as justified, as individuals, but to stand before God justified as families.

This is the critical difference between Jesus' course, and True Parents course. And so, when we look at that distinction, we can see very clearly the difference. If we commit a criminal act in a Democratic state, or in some nation state, you will get some punishment. You might go to prison, whatever the punishment is. But you won't necessarily be forgiven. You don't ask the system for forgiveness. The Judge will act with righteousness to give you punishment for your deed, if it is a bad deed.

So if God was simply a righteous God, then when we deserve punishment He doesn't need to forgive us. He can just punish us, and that is the price we pay for our sins. But see, that's the big difference. And that is why it is so critical that God is the God of Love, and that we understand this. Because if there is just righteousness, He would give us punishment and be done with it; but He is a God of love, which means that He forgives us, even though we have committed a sin against Him.

The critical distinction between normal religion and truth is that they lead to different places. They end up in different destinations. In normal religion you can get before God because you follow His commandments. You obeyed and submitted yourself to His commandments. That's how you can get before God. If you do so, and you have followed the commandments, you can be proud of yourself, and you can become self-righteous and arrogant. After all, it is because I followed diligently with all of my effort, that I can go before God. This leads to spiritual arrogance, and we saw that Jesus condemned spiritual arrogance.

It also can lead to the other side, which if you are honest with yourself, we can't follow all of the laws prescribed in all religions. It is impossible. There are so many laws. So when we look at ourselves honestly we realize that we may be teaching that we follow all of the laws perfectly, but we are not. That is what Jesus said is a hypocrite. And once we honestly discover that, we are destined to find ourselves in guilt; In terrible guilt and depression. So, normal religion leads us to these two destinations. If you follow the law well, you can become self-righteous; if you don't follow the law well, it will lead to guilt and depression.

However, the truth is different. It starts off by recognizing and admitting that I am a sinner. It starts there, yes; but it does not end there. It starts with recognizing that yes, I am a sinner, and I need to repent, and be forgiven. And when we realize that we are forgiven not because of our own deeds, but because of the Son, and the dual characteristics God has sent, both Christ and True Parents. Then we realize that it is not our deeds that bring us before God. It is His love. Thus we can feel gratitude. And on top of that, as we then offer our lives to God, and live for Him, and not for ourselves, then we can find joy. So the destinations are very different. They are critically different.

In normal religion there is a distinction. The world is separated into two; there are good people and there are bad people; good people and evil people, separated into two. You are either good, or you are evil. But in the truth it is not separated as such. It is not split like that. The difference is not between good and bad people, because the truth knows that we are children of God. The difference is a repentant child, and an unrepentant child; a child who repents for the suffering of the parents that paid for his grace to go before God, and lives for that parent; and another who does not repent, but who lives for himself. That's the difference. As a parent you can tell the difference between a grateful child, and an ungrateful child. If you are not a parent, when you become a parent, you would probably want a grateful child. You would be grateful for a grateful child.

So this is the big difference, not good and bad children. The difference is repentant and unrepentant. That is a critical difference. When we understand this, then the first thing that our mind wants to do, once we have admitted that we have sinned, is to hate ourselves completely. And your mind will want to go over every terrible thing that you have done, or even the minor things. And say, "Look it, look it, you are bad, you are terrible, terrible, you are a sinner, you are evil, and you are dirty, whatever. This is the common mistake. This is the classic mistake.

You see, repentance does not entail you to hate yourself, because self-love and self hate is the same thing. They are exactly the same. If you love yourself like a narcosis, then what is the center of that? It is you. If you hate yourself with all of your might, and think about how horrible you are; what's the center? It is still me.

The point of repentance is to get the spot light off of you, off of me, and turn the spotlight onto the only one who deserves worship, God. You see, that's the big difference. When we repent it is not something imprisoning, where we condemn ourselves even more. It is liberating. It is totally freeing, taking the spotlight off of worshiping ourselves. You see, this is the kind of heart where in which we are sending True Parents love. This kind of love is pure; like we said before, pure mind, pure heart, pure intension.

When we are doing the Chambumonim Eok Mansei chanting, this is what we mean; that we do it with that kind of heart to send True Parents love, centered energy, and love which is also vibrations. We manifest all of our strength to do so. And if you know the Chinese characters for Tong Il Kyo, which in the Unification Church it is the character for filial piety next to Father. So as Father described, Unification Church is where the filial children are right near their parents; then true unification begins.

Many times I've been asked, "What is the cultural heart that Unificationists talk about? What is that?" It sounds so vague and ambiguous. I never could answer that question clearly. But now when someone asks me, "What is the culture of heart?" It is simple; Chambumonim Eok Mansei is the culture of heart. That is our faith. The whole faith is in there; from repentance to forgiveness, to love, to grace, to glory, to filial piety, to give and receive action, to four position foundation; all of that is inside there, even Tong Il Kyo, Unificationism is inside there. The meaning of Unificationism is when the children are united with the Father, because that is inside the Chambumonim Eok Mansei.

So even though it is a very simple phrase, within it, it has the entirety of our faith, which takes a constant effort to master, or to move in that direction. Of course the question is, "why must we even put in effort, if it is not by our deeds that we are brought before God? Now this is very important. It is not by your deeds that you can go before God, including me. It is not because I am a good person, or a nice person that I can go before God. It is because of the True Parents' indemnity that I can go before God. But by my acting in a way that would please True Parents, is a sign that I love True Parents. It doesn't give me salvation, it doesn't mean that I can go before Heaven, but it is a sign, it is evidence that I love True Parents. And that is why we follow True Parents' laws, and their teachings; because in the end, it is all about love. They gave themselves to us through their indemnity course, and in return we follow them out of love. It is all about love.

I almost feel like breaking into song right now, but I am not going to do that. This is how amazing Chambumonim Eok Mansei is. It is all inside. This is the heart with which we are doing Chambumonim Eok Mansei; this is the vibration, this is the frequency. This is what Rev. Myeong-dae Kim was talking about. This is the frequency that we are encapsulating when we are singing to True Parents.

So let's prepare ourselves. I've done this service twice today. My energy is quite low, so you folks are really going to have to help me today. Let's first begin by preparing our body. We'll prepare our vibration in our body, also in our mind, and also in our spirit. So in Chambumonim Eok Mansei, we can also unite our mind and body through the vibration, because your body's vibration will become the same as your mental vibration, and also the same as your spirit's vibration. That is the First Blessing right there. Let's stand up and manifest Principle as we stretch.

Breathe in, stretching towards the Heavens; breathing out with give and receive action. Breathe in creating the Four Position Foundation and touching the Heavens, and breathe out, and inherit the true love of God. Aju.

Let's offer glory together. Let's join our hands together, and read:

Dearest Heavenly Father, since the beginning of creation, You have waited for a child that could inherit Your true love. Due to the fall of Adam and Eve humankind inherited selfish, false love through the adulterer Satan.

You sent Your messengers, The Buddha, Confucius, Mohammad, and Your son, the Messiah, Jesus Christ to this world to fulfill this purpose of Creation. Jesus inherited the great agape love of friends saying that, "greater love than none is this that a man lay down his life for his friends." But due to the tragedy of the killing of Jesus, Jesus could not establish the ideal of creation, and create a True Family, inheriting the Parental Heart of God.

You prepared this land of Korea, the holy land of the next coming. You sent True Parents to fulfill the mission of Jesus to inherit the True Love of God, Your Parental Heart. By the Seven Deaths and Resurrections, and the Perfection of the Eight stages, True Parents have been tortured, killed and killed seven times, as a ransom for all individual, family, tribe, race, nation, world and spirit world sin.

They have descended to the darkest spirit realms, and offered their holy souls to be tortured in place of our spirits so that we and our children and families, both in the flesh and the spirit worlds may be set free, and have eternal life.

By the Power of True Love, they have been resurrected from the 7 deaths, and demonstrated Your Love over death, sin, and Evil, they have ascended up to the eighth level of God, and are spiritually enthroned as God's perfect representative in Heaven and Earth with the Creator's full authority and Power.

Glory to God and True Parents!

Aju.

Let's offer the seven bows.

Now we will have the caller and response for the leader of the Holy Spirit Healing service.

Congregation:

Have you the leader of this service, repented and admitted you are a sinner before God? In preparation for the service?

Leader:

Yes, I have

Congregation:

Do you, the leader of this service, humbly ask God to lead you with the Holy Spirit and realize that you are not the center?

Leader:

Yes. I realize that God and True Parents are the center of this service, and I ask with a humble heart that God will lead me with the Holy Spirit. Aju.

Congregation:

Do you, the leader of this service, realize that you do not have any miraculous abilities, but that you are merely an instrument God can use for His will?

Leader:

Yes. I am pleased to be used as an instrument for His will, and I realize all the miracles that happen during this service are from God and True Parents, not from my abilities. Aju.

Congregation:

Then we ask God and True Parents to bless this day, and guide you through this service.

Leader:

Glory to God and True Parents. Aju.

After the Holy Spirit Healing Service

Let us pray in unison; let us all pray.

Dearest most beloved Heavenly Father, dearest Lord, Lord of Mercy. Father we are so grateful to be before You this day. Lord, You give us strength this day, and You create this day anew. Father, You let us go beside green pastures, and You bring us near cool waters, Father. You create streams in our hearts, which were drying up. In the wilderness You make a path that we can follow, Father, You show us the way; parting the oceans, and creating the bridge over troubled oceans. Father, we are grateful, for it is You in Whom we have life. Father, it is not because we are great, that we can go before You as righteous men and women. It is not because we are perfect that we can go before You in righteousness, Father; but it is because of Your amazing grace that we are given that love.

Father, even though we have failings and we have sin, when we ask for forgiveness; when we change the spot light off of us, and put it on You, You shine Your light upon us. You give us grace, You give us Your love and forgiveness; and You let us come into Your everlasting life; to leave the world of death behind; to leave the world of sin behind; and to enter into Your world of Peace; Peace of mind, Peace of body, Peace of spirit. Father, You sail with us across oceans. You give us wings that we can soar with, Father.

When we come before You in true love, not through ourselves, but without ourselves, and as Jesus said, when we die, we live, but if we seek to live, we shall die and perish. Father, this is the world of love, the Principle in the realm of heart, where we must rid ourselves of ourselves, to truly experience love.

Father, guide us this day. We thank You so much that You have given us this time together where we can focus not on ourselves, but we can focus on the one who is worthy of worship; the ones that You have sent from Your dual characteristics, from the Logos, the Principle. You have sent Adam and Eve to be perfected, the perfected Christ in True Parents. Father, it is through them that we can receive Your blessing, and Your ascension ceremony, to be with You in everlasting joy. Father, let us see this amazing grace, and let us experience the overwhelming flow of Your joy. Father, let us love You with all of our might, and all of our heart, and all of our intension, and all of our life energy. Let us love You, for You created us and gave us life, and You also forgive us when we stray.

Father, we are grateful before You. We know that the path to truth may begin with admitting that we are sinners, but it never ends there. It ends when we can truly repent before You, where You can liberate our hearts from ourselves, where we can worship something greater than our limited selves; and we can worship something that is eternal, limitless, and everlasting. God, that is the path to true joy. That is the true path to Peace. That is the true path to love, to Your heart. God, open these eyes today. Open these eyes and these hearts today. Give us Your Holy Fire. Fill us with You love and grace; and Father, let this vibration spread across the Universe, and the Cosmos, and spread into the Spirit World. Spread across this world, Father; and let it spread across this land of Korea that is the chosen nation.

We pray that this nation's people may not be self-righteous and filled with pride, but that they can realize the one that You have sent; to unite with True Parents, and to fulfill their destiny. Father, we pray for this nation. We pray for these people, for the Korean people to open their hearts, and open their eyes; to come before You in repentance, in forgiveness, and in joy. Father, we are so grateful for today we pray that You may start anew; that You may give us new hearts, and fill us with Your Holy Spirit; that You may fill us with new life; create a new creation. Father, we thank You so much; and we pray that all of the central blessed families of the world will come before You, and kneel and bow before You in humility and thanksgiving; that we can love You with all of our might, and all of our strength, and all of our life.

Father, we thank You, and ask that You bless this day, and accept this tiny Jeong Seong that we offer, for we believe that You will transform it into a great blessing for True Parents, and a great strength, energy, and a great healing for True Parents. Father, we thank You so much. Please listen to these filial children's hearts. Father, listen to the vibration of these filial children. Father, please give us Your strength this day. We pray in great gratitude, and Father, we pray as we arrive at the individual level. We pray that You may use us for Your purpose, and Your will, and that You may use us so that we may glorify You and True Parents.

We thank You so much, and pray these things in our own names, as Central Blessed Families; and I pray in the name of Hyung Jin Moon, and my Central Blessed Family, Aju.

Let's manifest the Principle. Give and receive action; Four Position Foundation; may we inherit the True Love of God, and glorify Heaven in my ascension. Aju.

Kamsahamnida.

Turn to the person behind you, and let's manifest Principle together. Give and receive action; Four Position Foundation; may we inherit the True Love of God, and glorify Heaven in my ascension. Aju. And give that person a hug.

The Meaning and Value of the Holy Spirit Healing Service

Hyung Jin Moon

Main Sermon:

Thank you for your prayer. Welcome (greetings in Japanese to various members). We want to welcome all of our Japanese brothers and sisters. We have, I think, five hundred brothers and sisters that are coming. I don't know if they are all here yet, but that is why we started a little later today, so that they could all come in, at least. Oh, they are still coming in. Let's give them a warm welcome everybody. Our brothers and sisters from Japan.

Before, as you realize, I will speak a little slower today so that they can translate. I have a tendency to speak fast; I will speak slower.

Today is a different kind of service; it is the Holy Spirit Healing Service. Today is really the service we were doing every day at Yeosu and continue to do every day here at night. Every day at 7:30 we are gathering that kind of energy and gathering the Chi energy and love for True Parents. And so before we begin … please keep coming in, yes. Before we begin, I want to give some basic explanations and, we have translation, yes? Okay, great. Thank you.

It is very important, you know, when we were in Hong Kong and talked with the members and brothers and sisters. It is very important to realize that we are sinners. When you hear that you are going to be like, "what are you talking about, important to realize I am a sinner?" It is very important to understand this because when we look at our lives, when we usually realize about sin in the Unification Movement, then we are thinking of big sin like killing somebody or the Fall or something like this. Big, big, big. But we have to understand that there are many different types of sin.

There is original sin. There is hereditary, inherited sin. There is collective sin that you do as a group. There is also individual sin that we accumulate every day. And sin is really described as self-centered intention, mind or actions. So when we look at ourselves honestly, we can see that we have sin; we definitely have sin. Even though I am a blessed child, even though I am a true child and was not born with original sin, I still have sin; individual sin, etcetera. This is very important to realize because when we look at our life, when we first hear that, we don't want to admit 'I am a sinner.' We don't want to admit that. Why would you do such a thing? You would hate yourself. Many people will mistake acknowledging or admitting you have sin or are a sinner and hating yourself. This is a bad confusion; this is a bad mistake, when we look at our life.

Who in this room has never lied? Who has never lied, said a fib. Who? If you have never lied in your life, raise your hand. If you raise your hand, you are lying. No, I was just kidding. What do you call someone who lies? What do you call someone who lies? A liar, right? Who here has not stolen something? I know when I was younger I stole some pencils from my brother's pencil-case. I also stole some candy from a candy store. I can't remember what kind of candy -- oh, it was a Now and Later; I stole a Now and Later. You guys may not remember, the younger guys. So what do you call someone who steals something? A thief.

Jesus said if you have lustful thoughts about another person other than your spouse, you are committing adultery in your mind. Out of all the men here, who has not looked at another woman and not had fallen thoughts? Who? Yeah, can't raise your hand. What did Jesus say, then, you are? You are an adulterer. And who in here has at some point not been angry at God or even cursed God? Have been resentful towards God? What do we call someone who has anger or curses God? That is traditionally called a blasphemer. So whether or not we have original sin is a very important thing but it doesn't eradicate all of our sin. Even if we don't have that, at some point I was a liar. I was a thief. I was an adulterer; a blasphemer. No matter how you try to maneuver around these things, you can't. In the end you have to admit, if you are honest with yourself, you have sin. That is one of the most essential things to be able to do.

I remember growing up. In America, in the West -- the Principle is translated as foundation, growth, perfection, and I think that is a very, very wrong translation. Perfection. I was asked this question in Hong Kong. You can't be perfect. When we think of the word perfection that means literally flawless, stainless, absolutely perfect as God is perfect. That is impossible. In the Korean it is two different things. It is foundation, growth and -- wansang is the word, not wanbyukWanbyuk means perfection. That means being perfect. That is how it is translated in the West and I think it is a bad translation; a wrong translation. It translates as wanbyuk which is perfection and if you are a blessed kid and you grew up under that language, you can't be perfect. So you are under this enormous weight which you can never ever fulfill. You will never be able to fulfill that. But I think the better translation is the actual word; is wansang and not wanbyukWansang has included in it a process, so it includes something more like maturity or completion of character. Maturity. One of those characteristic traits would be that you would be able to admit that you are not perfect. Because if you say you are perfect, you are already committing a big sin.

So when we look at ourselves honestly, at our life, we know we want to try to say that because I followed Father's laws, which I did. I didn't have any girlfriends; I didn't smoke, drink problems or drug problems. I got married early when True Parents sent me; had kids. I didn't do well in school at first but I eventually did well in school and went off to do well. I followed the laws and, at some point, I believe because I followed those laws I could stand righteous before God. I did believe that because I invested myself and worked hard at it. That's why I could stand before God.

That, my friends, is one of the biggest sins. It is said that there are two types of sinners. One type of sinner will break all the commands of God and the other type of sinner will keep all the commands of God. He will keep them all and think because he kept them, he can go before God. That is called self-righteous arrogance. This is what the Pharisees did. If you remember, the Pharisees are the sect of Judaism that focused on the Mosaic Law most diligently. They followed and obeyed the law most diligently. They were known for that, as the most pure. They are the ones that killed Jesus. They crucified him because of that self-righteous arrogance. So we can see even in our own church culture we have this. 'I am more perfect than you because I obeyed these laws more than you.' But, actually, if you look at that person, if he or she looks at herself honestly, they are not obeying all the laws either.

So it is so important to understand that we are not perfect before God, as a liar or as an adulterer or as a blasphemer. Obviously one like that cannot go before God. The reason that we can go before God is not because of our deeds. It is not because we have done these things and have these accomplishments and thus can go before God. It is because God sent his dual characteristics into the world whom we call True Parents, who walked the path of indemnity for us so that we can stand before God. That is what we call Grace. That is what is called Grace. That is why it is amazing Grace.

I was asked in Hong Kong -- one sister told me "You know, I always hoped when I received the blessing that one day my descendants would be pure, that they would have no sin." And she said, "Isn't that true in the ideal world that there will be no sin?" That question is very easy to answer from a Principle perspective, very easy. As long as human beings have free will, the possibility of sin is always present, always. Always. If God's purpose was to have no sin, He would just make robots. There is no sin, no sin in the world. Very easy for Him to do. So as long as there is free will, there is always the possibility of sin, of selfishness, self, ego-centeredness.

At the same time, because there is free will, there is the possibility of the greatest love which is giving yourself away; sacrificial love. Without the possibility of free will, God could, of course, eradicate sin. But, of course, at the same time, He would eradicate the greatest type of love. So in a world where there is free will in human beings, there is always the possibility of sin. That is not the reason we are hopeful because one day the world will have no sin. That is not the thing. God could have that with robots. Our true hope is that one day there will be a world where people will be freely choosing the sacrificial love, inheriting that love of God and loving God in that manner. You see, that is the difference. That is really the hope.

Having said that, the reason we have to start at that starting point is because it is fundamental; it sets our relationship with God. If we are of the opinion we can stand before God because of your own deeds or your own effort or because you are perfect in the moral law, when you actually look at yourself, you are not; nobody is. So that is why if we are honest with ourselves, we realize "I have sinned." We realize "I need forgiveness." We realize that we have to ask for forgiveness and when we realize that, we realize that this is very different from self-love or self-hate. You see, self-love and self-hate are actually the same thing; the same exact thing, just two sides of the same coin. Self-love and self-hate is the same.

What is the center of self-love? The self. What is the center of self-hatred? The self. The point is not to be on yourself. That is the point of repentance and that is why when we repent, we are not hating ourselves. The point is we are taking the spotlight off of ourselves. Stop trying to hate ourselves or love ourselves and worship ourselves and change that spotlight on to the One, the True One that deserves worship. The only One, God and His begotten son and daughter, True Parents. That is the huge shift; that is the difference.

People will mix that up -- repentance equals self-hate. No, no, no. Repentance is the way to freedom. Stop spotlighting only yourself; either you hate yourself or you just love yourself. You are still spotlighting yourself. This is what repentance is about. This is why the process of repentance is asking for forgiveness. We have to realize that we need forgiveness and realize that because of God's grace, we can go before Him not because of how perfect we are. That is very important. I remember when I was young growing up in this movement, that was not the culture, admitting that we had sin. If you followed the law you would become very self-righteous. That is a sin. That is a big sin. This is very important for us to understand.

Now we are going to move very quickly because we don't have so much time. When we look at the whole created world, we realize that from this intention of sacrificial love that God created this world, but He has a purpose for creation. God's purpose of creation we hear many times is the perfected ideal world or the perfected family; this kind of thing. But that is not actually Principle. Principle does not teach that the purpose of creation is the perfected ideal world or world of peace and a perfected family. That is not the purpose of creation. The purpose of creation is that God wants to find His true love object partner. That is the purpose of creation and that purpose, that true love object partner was supposed to be a perfected human being -- perfected man and woman or perfected Adam and Eve or what Adam and Eve were to become, True Parents. So the purpose of creation in a short way is True Parents. From that relationship comes the true give and receive action, comes the true four position foundation. From that relationship comes perfected family and tribe, society, world and cosmos, etcetera. Those other things are the result not the purpose. The purpose is to the true love object partner. This is very, very important.

When we look at the universe, the universe is all vibration, all of it. Everything from the cells in your glasses to your eyes to outer space, trees, everything; all vibration. Vibration is simply small movement. When you look inside any type of atom will find subatomic particles. You will find neutrons, protons and electrons. And you will see that they are moving; the electrons are not static. There are different models, some people think that they are cylindrical; some people think they jump, right? But there is an electron cloud scientists usually describe it as. And it is moving. It is not still. So even in every atom there is slight motion; there is movement. So energy equals matter equals MC2 is a very simple way to explain that. That which you think is matter is actually energy. So everything, everything that we can experience is vibration. We can only see a very small -- for example, with our eye we can only see a very small piece of the light spectrum; this is the light spectrum. We can only see a tiny piece of it. You can see that piece is magnified down at the bottom. That is what we can see. If you were able to see gamma rays and UV light and radio waves and x-rays and the shirts, the white shirts you are wearing would not be white. There are no white molecules in these shirts. No white electrons. It only appears to you that color because we have limited perception.

The same with the Mic, the microphone. Alexander Graham Bell, all of you in the West will know him. He was the first one who made the first practical telephone; an expert in vibration. He gave a very good example; you can visualize it very easy. If you have an iron rod and you clamp it down and you begin to vibrate it, you make it vibrate in small motions. Then it vibrates and reverberates. The frequencies will first appear within a certain range and it will become sound so you will hear it. It will start humming if you vibrate it. You will hear it humming. It will start with a low humming like "awww" then it will go higher, keep going higher and higher as you increases the repetitions per second. Then this will become a huge shrill; a very loud sound; a super high-pitched shrill; unbearable. Then in one instant the sound will be gone. No more sound because you can't sense those pitches. But as you continue to increase the reps per second, then that sound changes into heat. So what happens is that iron bar will start heating up. You can't hear it, but it will start heating up inside and as you continue to heat it, then from the heat, as you continue the vibrations rep per second, then heat becomes light. The iron rod will become hotter and hotter then becomes iron red and will start to shine iron red light. As you see when you burn the iron when they make the molten iron. So it is the same vibration just increasing the number of reps per unit of time.

I don't want to get too much into science. Let's just keep going. So it is all connected, whether you look at light that is vibration, sound, heat, all vibration just different speeds.

In physics there is something called the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle and that is, very simply put, if you want to see an electron, you want to see a subatomic particle, you have to shine a light on it. And as soon as you shine a light on it, you cannot know its exact location because it changes location and its momentum because of the light. There is always an uncertainty in measuring momentum and location of that energy, those electrons, and subatomic particles. So that shows that just by observing something, it is already changed in its nature. In trying to observe an electron, you are already changing the atom and the location of the electron and its momentum. That is called the Heisenberg Uncertainty Principle. By our observation atoms are changed. The locations of these subatomic particles are changed.

We can see this in a very famous work by Emoto Masaru. He is famous throughout Japan. I am sure all of you have heard about him. He is the one with the water molecules; taking pictures of the water molecules. Let us just go through quickly. (shows pictures) So he put different labels on water molecules and froze them and took pictures of them. When he would take pictures of something like hapshida or why don't we do this, recommending. That is what the water crystal looks like when it is frozen. And okay then the next one… 'You do it!' commanding (Hara~!?) then it changes. The next one, if you say "You make me so mad," "You are so annoying or something like that, "I'll kill you". If you say that, if you just put that word on the tube down there, you see then it looks like that. The next one. If you say, "You S.O.B," cursing -- I am not going to say that; it is a curse word and you know what it means.

If you curse at somebody, that is what the crystal looks like. This one simply says the love of husband and wife; and you can see how beautiful that is. Next one the difference between "Angel" is on the left, "Devil" is on the right. The next one, this is water on the bottom before the experiment, and it becomes clear after receiving gratitude and love energy. The next one, this is water before receiving prayer (on the right) and (left) after prayer. I am sure our Japanese members know this. So remember, your body is 80% water." Remember that. So it's very important what kind of vibration is coming out of your body. What kind of internal vibrations are coming out of your body? You can look at just those water crystals and see how much influence a certain vibration can have.

When we understand the purpose of creation is True Parents, when we love the purpose of creation, when we move with the universe, which is the 3rd blessing, the give and receive with that purpose of creation, then the motion of the universe we call Cheon Un or, the flow of the universe which is moving towards that relationship. Then when we can tap in with that frequency. Then we can move not in our power but on that power. We can move with the different type of reality, different type of power.

When we are entering into the Chambumonim Eog Mansei vibration and singing, then we are entering with this heart. We are not entering into it asking, "Heavenly Father, please heal my sickness. Make me a rich man. Make me a billionaire." We are not praying for that. That's not the heart you are going in with. If you're going like that you may get cursed. We don't go with that heart into the world of heart. We're going into the world of heart with the Chambumonim Eog Mansei prayer, praying for True Parents. That's going to be our central focus.

We are going to send all our energy like Christ said, the first commandment, all of your strength, all of your mind, all of your heart, all of your strength, love the Lord thy God. We're going to do that. We're going to love the one whom He has sent. We're going to try to send all our intention, all our energy, mental energy, physical energy, heart energy to True Parents, to heal True Parents. Give them strength, love them, try to protect them, give them power in their legs. If my legs drop off, "Father you have strength in your legs." That's the heart we want to go with. That's a sacrificial heart; that's true love. If we're going with that kind of heart, I believe that God will bless that heart. Come on, you want to give I do here, people. (Applause).

If we're going with that heart then God will bless that heart because we're not doing it for ourselves. We're doing it for our subject of love which is True Parents, God's object but our subject. We're going in with that heart because we're trying to give and receive with that heart, God will see that in Principle word is the most beautiful, the most true, the most good thing and He will bless it.

That is the reason why we have been seeing so many miracles lately while doing the Chambumonim Eog Mansei vibration, chanting and singing. The reason why we've seen so many healings -- and you know we have many healing testimonies every day. The reason why those things are coming is not because of anyone of our power. It's because we're learning to die, to throw away ourselves and love the other. That is the secret of the law of love. That's what Jesus taught. He who wishes to live will die; he who wishes to die will live. That does not make any sense in the real world. What do you mean he who seeks to die will live? Does that mean we commit suicide? There's actually those some kind of cults. No, that's not what Jesus was talking about. Jesus was the king of love. He's talking about the world of love, the universal love and in the universal love, you cannot try to preserve yourself and give or receive love.

In the world of love, you have to give yourself away. You have to die and then you will live. Anyone of us who has a good relationship with our spouse, a powerful relationship, we will know very quickly that in order to really experience a deeper level of love, you cannot just grab onto your independence. If I just try to be everything for me and my wife does the same then there'll be constant clashing. It's only when we die -- I don't live for me, I live for you -- and vice versa, when we lose our mutual independence and learn how to give to the other, that's when we actually commit the greatest love. We talked about it a couple of times.

It's with that heart we're going to enter in; that's the kind of heart we want to keep in our mind. That's the pure heart, the clean heart, the clean motivation, pure motivation and pure intention, pure mind and pure heart that we want to enter into Chambumonim Eog Mansei with.

If we enter in like this then the Holy Spirit can come, God's energy, His power and the world can come in our life. Because in that world, in the world of heart, in that world, that's not a world of sickness, death or sadness, etc. Sickness cannot exist in that world. If you are worried about sending True Parents sick energy if you have a bad back or bad lungs or whatever, don't worry about that. As long as you do it with a correct heart, you'll be hitting the right frequency and we'll be sending them our love. In that world of love there is no sickness, no bad lungs, no bad back. So you don't have to worry about that.

Today -- I'll briefly explain -- remember that throughout all of Christian history, miracles, and continuing to this day, have been done in the name of Jesus: cast out demons in the name of Jesus; heal the sick in the name of Jesus; bring the dead back to life in the name of Jesus. In the Bible we see the power of that name. But Jesus was to become who? He was supposed to become the True Parents. So when we are calling and singing Chambumonim Eog Mansei, then we are also calling on the perfected, completed Jesus, the completed Christ.

This may feel very strange, especially for our western audience because we're going to send energy to Father's body. We're going to send energy to his legs that are 92 years old; send energy. We're going to send our intentional energy towards True Father; we'll try to heal him. Remember, True Father is the completed Jesus. That's how precious we would -- think if Jesus was here. How precious the physical presence, the body of Christ would be. It is the same intention. We are sending energy to True Parents. Same energy.

What we are going to do, we're going to briefly do about 120 repetitions of Chambumonim Eog Mansei. We're going to gather the energy. We're going to gather the vibration and energy from our body and our mind. We all want the body and mind to become one vibration, one frequency. When it becomes one frequency, then by the blessing of the Holy Spirit, our spirit, also our vibration in the spirit and physical worlds can become one. Once we gather that energy, we're going to get ready and we're going to send it. We're going to gather about 120 times which we're going to do more quietly and then gather up energy and then we're going to send to True Parents about 40 times and then we'll come back down again.

So we need all of your intention and power; your intention, your mind, your motivation, your heart -- all that energy which can change water molecule and all sorts of things. We want you to gather all that energy and send it to True Parents and have them feel the strength today.

This is the heart of filial piety if we do this with the true heart. I always tell people that Chambumonim Eog Mansei, literally all of the faith is right in there. It's filial piety; to love, sacrificial love, gratitude, returning glory, all of that is in there. If we do it with the right heart, right mind, right intention, if we do that, we will see miracles in our life. We will see changes that come in our life. We will see people being healed, sickness healed.

We have one brother today who gave his testimony; he was a former minister -- his wife -- I'm sorry, and she had a chronic eye disease. Her doctor said she'd become blind if she went to Yeosu for 21 days. She would have to do surgery. But she said, "No, I am not going to do surgery and I am going to go down. Even if I am going to be blind, I am going down. I'll be blind while listening to Father." So she went down; it was very dangerous. Her husband thought, "Don't do this; this is dangerous." But he couldn't stop her. He respected her faith. She went down to 21 days every day, participating in Chambumonim Eog Mansei and her eyes were healed. She has no disease in her eyes. (Applause). She gave this testimony this morning in the video.

We are not seeing these one, two cases. We are seeing this everywhere. Those kinds of things are incredible. We are very grateful for all those things that happened because we know she did it with the right heart, mind and intention. She did not focus on herself to be healed. She focused on loving True Parents, the purpose of creation, and thus God could bless her. We saw it. We see so many of those testimonies. So that's the energy we're going to send to True Parents.

About 120 we're going to gather, then we're going to send to True Parents and then once again we'll gather and then we will end.

Representative Prayer:

Our most beloved Heavenly God, our dearest most beloved True Parents of Heaven and Earth:

Father we're so grateful this day that we can come before You and be in the presence of Your amazing grace. Father let us never believe that it is because we are great that we can stand before You as righteous people. Let us not be filled with that kind of self-righteous arrogance. Father let us not see ourselves in that way. Let us see ourselves in truth, in honesty, realizing that, Father, without Your love we will never be able to stand before Your perfection. We are too flawed, too limited, too self-centered, too imperfect to stand before You, but, Father, because of Your love, because of the one whom You have sent coming from Your dual characteristics, from the principle of Your logos, the one the logos made flesh, the Christ, the perfected Christ in our True Parents, because of their sacrifice, because of the blood that they spilled, because of the tortures that they walked through, Father, we can stand before You in that love. Father, that is the love of grace and, Father, let us be humble before that.

Let us also be glad and joyful before that. Father, let us rejoice that You love a sinner like me; that You love an imperfect child like me; that You love sinners like my children and grandchildren; that You love imperfect children because of True Parents love, because of the love that moves You. That is Your essence. Father, we want to come before You this day not with arrogance, not ego-centered and full of ourselves, but emptied of ourselves.

Father, that we may die in the spirit but, Father, Your spirit may fill us with new life; that Your Holy Spirit may come into our new heart and give us a new heart. Make us reborn from the ashes of death and come into Your everlasting life Father. Let this be the day that You allow this rebirth to occur. Father, let this be the day that we may repent, Father, to take the spotlight from loving or hating ourselves and, Father, put the spotlight on the one who is only worthy of worship which is You and the son and daughter You have sent. Father, let us love them with all of our hearts. Let us love them with all our might. Let us love them with all our strength, Father, and let You see that, Father. Let, Father, You gaze upon that and be glad this day.

Allow, Father, Your heart to be filled with beauty and joy in seeing Your children, Father, repentful children who come asking for forgiveness and receiving Your love and a new heart, Father. Let this be the day, Father, we can turn ourselves anew not by our power but by Your amazing grace.

Father, let this be the day that we may stand up again and truly love the eternal love. Let us not anymore focus on such a limited love, a love centered on our worship of ourselves, addiction to our ego. Father that is such a limited love. Let us love the one that is truly eternal, that is beyond time and space, that is endless, limitless, infinite, and let us find the infinite world, the infinite world of peace, the infinite world of joy, the infinite world of purpose, and the infinite world of love which is Your heart.

Father, let us enter into Your heart today. That key to entering into Your culture of heart, Your universal heart is Chambumonim Eog Mansei; the love within there. Father, allow our pure mind and intention and heart to be pure this day so that we may love the one whom You have sent with all our might and our strength and, Father, allow this day to be a blessed day. Bless this day. Bless this day Father. We offer thanksgiving and grace and gratitude to You. Father we are so grateful.

On this day, we want to offer all things to You in our own names with humility and with gratitude and abundance of joy in finally finding our eternal purpose, our true selves which is the self that is not living for ourselves; a self that has died; an eternal self that seeks You Father. Thank you so much.

We pray all these things in our own names, the Central Blessed Families and we give ourselves to You. Aju!

End of representative prayer.

Brothers and sisters, let us gather our heart in unison prayer and offer prayer in unison that can move the heavens and the earth. Let us pray together in unison.

Unison prayer:

Dearest most beloved Heavenly God, the only one worthy of worship, the only one Father worthy of our love. The one whom You have sent, Your begotten son from Your dual characteristics, the returning Christ Father, our True Parents; the one who had walked the course of blood, sweat and tears of crucifixion, of torture, Father, so that we may live in the presence of Your eternity. We may go before You not as righteous man but as repentful children who are bathed in Your love, who can feel the glory of Your love and who seek to return that love back to You; to return that joy back to You; return that peace back to You. Father, that is the love that You have given us.

Father, this day we pray You may bless this congregation who is humbled before You. We who admit we are not perfect, Father, but we admit that Your love is perfect. We admit that Your heart is perfect. We admit that Your grace is perfect and, Father, we admit that we are in the presence of Your Holy Spirit. Father, let Your Spirit descend as Holy Fire into our hearts. Let us be reborn. Give us new heart, give us new life, give us new love, new eyes to see this world, change our frequency, change our body, change our mind, change our spirit and let it come into Your eternal presence. That is the culture of heart. The culture of heart begins with loving the one whom You have sent. The new culture is in True Parents Chambumonim Eog Mansei, filial piety heart, the heart of love, the heart of gratitude, the heart of service, the heart of returning benevolence, the heart of glory all is within our faith, Father, in You.

Father, we are so grateful that this day we pray that it may be the day that will start a new history, Father. Start the Cheon Il Guk process now, Father. Start the healing process now. Start the changing process now. In Your world of heart, Father, there is no sickness, Father. In Your world of heart there is no death. In Your world of heart there is no depression, there is no power of evil, Father, that can overcome the power of Your spirit.

Father in Your heart there is true peace, there is true life, there is true love, there is true lineage, there is true happiness, there is true joy, there is true rejoicing Father. Let this day be the day that we discover that anew and we can be reborn in Your Holy Spirit and leave here as new creatures, born in Christ, born in Your love, born in Your grace, emerging from death and coming into life, emerging from darkness and coming into Your light. Father, let this be that day that You have made. This is the day the Lord has made and it is good, indeed.

Father, thank You so much. We are grateful that You are showing Your Holy Spirit upon Your children like a Pentecost, like the Holy Spirit showering down. Father, we feel the bathing in Your Spirit, the purifying of Your Spirit and the love of Your spirit.

We thank You so much. Let this vibration and energy go all throughout the universe. Let it go throughout the whole world Father. Let it go throughout this whole nation of Korea as the chosen nation. Let it awaken the hearts and souls of the Korean people to accept the one that You have sent. Let them not repeat the sin of Jerusalem who rejected Your Christ, who rejected Your Son, but let this chosen people choose True Parents. Let them rejoice that Your Son has come. Let them rejoice that True Parents are here.

Father, let us be brothers and sisters, one in the love of Christ; neither Jew nor Gentile, neither male nor female, neither high nor low, neither slave nor master; one in the love of Christ, one in Your love, one in the love of True Parents, the perfected Christ. We are not one blessed child, nor first generation, nor second generation, nor Jacob child. We are one in Your love. We are one in loving Your Son and daughter.

Thank You for everything, Father.

Father, we pray that this nation, this people, these tribes will come as one and we can come together as one in acknowledging, Father, the grace of Your love, the grace and the path of Your love, and let that be glorified. Father, use us for Your purpose only. Use us for Thy kingdom and Thy will, and let us be an instrument, Father, to glorify Your true son and true daughter, the perfected Adam and Eve, the perfected Christ, our True Parents of heaven and earth. Let us be an instrument to glorify them, to give them love and strength. Father, use us in that way and we will find our true selves, our true purpose and everlasting life.

We pray all these things with gratitude, thanksgiving and full of rejoicing and gladness. We offer these things in our own names as Central Blessed Families. We pray. Aju!

End of unison prayer.

Hyung Jin Nim's New Year's Roundtable With Religion Reporters

Seoul Shinmun reporter

The South Korean national daily Seoul Shinmun coverered International President Hyung Jin Nim's New Year's rountable with religion reporters and filed a report <www.seoul.co.kr//news/newsView.php?code=seoulandid=20110119023006andkeyword=%B9%AE%C7%FC%C1%F8> that is translated below by Tongil Foundation.

"May you receive Heaven's Blessing in the New Year."

Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, 32, international president of the Unification Church, placed his palms together and smiled with his well-formed face as he greeted us on entering the room in the Seoul Press Center together with his wife Rev. Yeon Ah Lee on Jan. 18 for a roundtable discussion with reporters from several media organizations. Wearing a white hanbok designed for daily living on his tall height of well over 180 cm, he sported a necklace bearing the Principle Mark of the Unification Church. His greeting was as exotic as his dress. "Heavenly Blessing," is the Unification Church style of greeting. Rev. Moon is the youngest son of Unification Church founder Rev. Sun Myung Moon.

"For a time I kept my head shaven, wore hanbok and became fascinated with Buddhism and Buddhist philosophy, and I experienced some pressure from within the Unification Church," Rev. Moon said. "The atmosphere was that I should choose one or the other, so now I let my hair grow but still insist on wearing hanbok," he said with an uncomfortable smile.

The Unification Church no longer uses the name "Family Federation for World Peace and Unification." It returned to using "Unification Church" in February 2010.

"We were upright in carrying on our lives of faith, but there were some on the outside who seemed to think we were trying to hide under a new name, and it was decided that we needed to be clear for our own sake as well," Rev. Moon explained.

Rev. Moon was born in New York, U.S.A., and mastered Catholicism and Buddhism before majoring in comparative religion at Harvard University. His interests also extended to the sacred texts of Confucianism and Taoism. This background has caused a new wind to blow within the Unification Church. He has included meditation as a major item in worship services and conducts 120 full bows so as to cultivate the depth of his self-reflection. He placed portraits of the four great saints in the worship hall as an expression of respect. He reorganized the church in terms of "genuine believers," or those who give donations and attend services each week, as opposed to the expansion of external appearance based on registered believers.

Respecting other religions … Avoiding hollow expansion for appearance

"Membership, which was at the 16,000 level in the 1970s, fell to around 11,000 in 1975, but was back up to around 19,000 at the end of last year," Rev. Moon said. "This year, I intend to visit the birthplaces of the four great saints and bring dirt back from those places," he said. His purpose is to carry out interfaith activity.

A True Peace and Unity Cheonbok Festival will be held from Feb. 3 to 9. This will be in celebration of Rev. Sun Myung Moon's birthday, and will include a debate on the existence of God.

Hyung Jin Moon:The Women Married to Jesus, Buddha, Confucius and Muhammad

Kwon Ran
January 18, 2011

Kwon Ran, a news reporter for the South Korean television broadcasting network SBS, wrote the following on her reporter's blog: ublog.sbs.co.kr/kpacubo?targetBlog=117934 after attending International President Hyung Jin Nim's New Year's meeting with religion reporters on January 18, 2011. (Translation by Tongil Foundation <www.tongilgroup.org/system_eng/bbs/board.php?bo_table=newsandwr_id=100>)

The Women Married to Jesus, Buddha, Confucius and Muhammad "May you receive Heaven's Blessing in the New Year." This is the New Year greeting in the Unification Church.

"Heaven's Blessing" refers to the fact that "In the world under God's dominion, His bountiful love and grace are the greatest blessings," and the greeting expresses the wish that the person receive that love and grace. This was the greeting offered by Rev. Hyung Jin Moon in a meeting with reporters held to mark the New Year.

This was my first time to attend this type of meeting with reporters after being assigned the religion beat on the culture desk.

Actually, all I knew about the Unification Church was that it was founded by Rev. Sun Myung Moon and that the church holds mass weddings that had been a topic of discussion over the years.

I learned at this event that the official legal name of the Unification Church is "Family Federation for the World Peace," although the church decided in February 2010 to use "Unification Church"; that some 27,000 people in our country -- including adults and children -- regularly attend Unification Church services; and that the church has some 180,000 registered members worldwide.

I also learned that if you go to the Unification Church's headquarters church in Yongsan, called "Cheon Bok Gung," you will find displayed there paintings of Jesus, Buddha, Confucius and Muhammad, and that this is because the Unification Church considers these figures to be saints and so attends them together with God.

During the Seol holiday, when the lunar new year begins, Unification Church will be holding a week-long Cheonbok Festival for the first time in its history. During the festival, earth brought from the birthplaces of the four saints will be distributed to church members, providing an example of how the church embraces a variety of religions.

Rev. Hyung Jin Moon, International President of the Unification Church, sits with Rev. Yeon Ah Lee, his wife, at a meeting with religion reporters on Jan. 18, 2011. The two have five children after 13 years of marriage, and show a living example of the Unification Church's biblically based teachings that the three great blessings are to be fruitful, multiply and have dominion over the earth.

Because the church serves the four saints as God's messiahs, there are four women in the Unification Church who have married each of the saints. Their existence was revealed to the public last year during a banquet commemorating the publication of Rev. Sun Myung Moon's autobiography. Because this was topic not easily understood by the general public, the reporters attending the recent meeting with Rev. Hyung Jin Moon asked him to explain.

The following was the explanation given by Rev. Moon, the youngest son of Rev. Sun Myung Moon, who has succeeded his father on the path as pastor to the Unification Church. (Rev. Hyung Jin Moon is only 33 years old in secular age, but is widely knowledgeable, having attended a Catholic school, delved into Buddhist doctrine and meditation methods, and received a degree in comparative religion from Harvard. He shows an interest in all religions, and has a good understanding of many.)

"In the Catholic Church, priests and nuns are said to be married to Jesus,'" he said. "In this case, 'marriage' in the Christian tradition refers to 'promise' or 'covenant.' This is the reason these women wear rings. It means they have pledged themselves to serve these saints as they would a physical spouse. In the world of religion, there is nothing strange about this."

"It is a marriage relationship that is spiritual, not physical," Rev. Moon said. "The women in our church who are married to Jesus, Buddha, Confucius and Muhammad have committed to offering themselves completely for the sake of their respective spouses. They offer special devotion and serve the four saints more than others."

The Unification Church has hundreds of couples who have been joined in "marriages with spirits." They say that these are done so that people who have died for various reasons will not be alone in the spirit world and will be able to live eternally with their spouses. Both spouses enter into these covenants, so they cannot be broken for eternity, they say.

It is all somewhat difficult for nonbelievers to understand, and for this reason it has been controversial at times. In any case, religions deal with the metaphysical, and individuals are given the freedom to believe as they choose. So if another person's belief differs from my own, I cannot say "That's not right," or "You're wrong."

These were some of my impressions after attending my first meeting of this type as a reporter covering religion. Perhaps for this reason, I personally felt that the efforts by the Unification Church and Rev. Hyung Jin Moon to embrace all religions seemed quite good.

The following is information from the web site Unificationism. Rev. Kambashi

On the 8th day of the 12th month of the Heavenly calendar (Jan. 11, 2011), the 43rd Year Memorial Service for Mrs. Gyeong Gye Kim (True Father's mother), Choong Mo Nim (her honorific name, "Loyal mother") was held, joined by Hyung Jin Nim, Kook Jin Nim, Hoon Sook Nim, and around 200 members.

"My mother loved me. She had never thought her son that she loved so much would become unfilial to her. I did not listen to her and took the completely opposite path. Now I gave her the title of 'Choong Mo,' but according to some spiritualists she is always crying in the spirit world, saying, 'I am mortified that I could not offer Jeong Seong more than Dae Mo Nim in order to help my son who is pioneering the providence. If I had been told how I should attend to God with my utmost heart on earth, I would not have felt shameful with the name 'Choong Mo.'"

Realm of Shim Jung

Hyung Jin Moon
January 9, 2010
Cheon Bok Gung, Yongsan Seoul Korea

Today I'd like to talk to you about the realm of Shim Jung.

Let's start first with looking at True Parents' words. This is from Cheon Seong Gyeong p.341 and let's read together,

"What kind of people are True Parents? True Parents symbolize the hope of all people. They symbolize the absolute hope before fallen humankind. They are the fruit of history, center of the age and the starting point for the future when human beings can be connected to this world where they are living today."

Aju!

And let's look at Galatians 2:16, and let's read together,

"Know that a man is not justified by observing the Law, but by faith in Jesus Christ. So we too have put our faith in Christ Jesus that we may be justified by faith in Christ and not by observing the Law, because by observing the Law, no one will be justified."

Aju!

This is such an important piece of St. Paul's works. In America we hear these kinds of quotations all the time, but I never could understand the meaning behind this. I remember when I was a student at the divinity school, and there was one other 2nd generation blessed child, a sister, and I remember her telling me, "You know we are so Jewish!" She said that to me.

I was studying Buddhism and Eastern religions and I did not know what the heck she was talking about, but she said to me, "We are so Jewish!"

And as I continued on, I realized what she was saying. St Paul is directly talking about this. He's telling us that no matter what, how perfectly we may be observing the Law, or how perfect we may think we are… In this case it was the Pharisaic Jews. They were the most sort of exemplary of all the sects; they were the ones that were following the Mosaic Law to a T, and they believed that by following and obeying the Laws perfectly; because of that, they would be justified before God.

St. Paul is saying, "No! You can never be justified by your deeds before God! Only because of the Son whom He has sent, who gave his life for you, because of that sacrifice, that love, are you justified when you have faith in him. Then you are justified before God."

And this was a very big thing. Because I remember when I was younger I used to think," I follow True Parents' laws!" I did not have any girlfriends in high school, in middle school, or drinking, smoking, drug problems. I followed the Law! "I follow True Parents' laws. So I am morally perfect, more than you! I am justified because I follow the laws, and that's why I can stand before God!"

You see he said that there are two types of grave sinners. The first type of sinner does everything against the Law, against God's commands. God gives us the commands not to control; He gives us those commands out of love, just like you would tell a child, "No! Don't jump off that car or that building- when it's a baby!" You do that. You give that command because you don't want it to die, leaping down twenty stories.

And [this is] the same thing! When we face God, when we are before God, then it's because of the greater love of God and the one He has sent that we can stand before Him; it's not because we obeyed all His commands.

This was huge! I remember when we were growing up; there was a very strong culture of self-righteousness in our church. I could understand what the sister was telling me. We could remember brothers and sisters that had hard times in church, and maybe left the church. When they would try to come back, they would be condemned, chastised, "Because we obeyed the Law, you didn't!" They were chastised, chased away!

This is just like the Pharisees. The second of the gravest sinners obeys all the laws. The first one break all the laws, the second obeys them all perfectly. But he makes a grave error. He thinks that by obeying the laws, he is morally greater than anybody else, and that because of that he can stand before God.

That is arrogance and that is what the Pharisees were. The ones who obeyed the Law perfectly, those are the ones that killed Jesus, that crucified him. Isn't that ironic, that the ones that obeyed all the laws crucified Christ?

This is what St. Paul is telling us. He is telling us, "You must always be wary. We follow the laws, not out of fear of God's judgment. We follow laws because of what God and Christ have done for us. We do it out of gratitude and thanks!" Totally different motivation!

You see that is the real difference between normal religion and true religion. Religion in Latin is 'religio', that is 'to reconnect'. That's what religion means from the original language. See, normal religion seeks that, "Through my effort to follow the laws and obey the laws perfectly, I can stand righteous before God. If I train a lot I can find ultimate enlightenment; I can do these yogic practices, and I can find the moksha and liberation from samsara out of my own effort."

But you see, true religion means 'to reconnect'. It's not searching for a self-realization, or a self-liberation, or even standing self-righteous before God. It's seeking a relationship that was lost, to reconnect back to Him. That is the difference.

True religion understands that no matter what we do, we stand before God imperfect. No matter how great we may think we are, or how amazingly perfect lives we have lived, still when we look at our hearts we see that we have self-centered thinking, thoughts, words, actions, every day! We sin every day.

Last week, I shared at Yeosu the work of Dr. Andrew Delbanco who is a Columbia University humanities professor. He studies alcoholics and drug addicts, and he researches them, their patterns and their healing, and their getting free from those addictions.

In America they have AA, Alcoholics Anonymous, and they are active in all the states. He writes in one of his books, entitled, "The Real American Dream: a meditation on hope." I shared about that in Yeosu. He writes about an episode when he was attending an AA meeting in Manhattan.

One guy got up. He was very well dressed; he had his business suit on and his little brief case and everything. And he said, "You know what? I've got to get control of my life! I've got to get a hang on myself now. All those people who scarred me, I got to show them right now. I am going to break this habit!" He was up there saying, "I have to believe in myself more. I've got to know that I can do this."

And while he was saying this, next to professor Delbanco there was another man, an African American man with long dreads, and he leaned over to him and said, "I also thought like him. I thought like him. I was just like that guy until I discovered my low self-esteem." Del Banco was thinking, "What are you talking about?"

But he reflected on this and he wrote about it in his book, and he said, "This man sitting next to me had discovered the key to winning, the key to overcoming this terrible addiction, and that was realizing that he was a sinner, realizing that it was not everybody else's fault (that's why I am drinking, it's your fault that I am drinking. Give me that!)" He realized it was him who was a sinner. He was the one abusing the substance, and he was the one abusing people.

Now until he realized that he was a sinner, he never asked for forgiveness. He didn't have to; he was perfect. It was everybody else's fault! It's only when he realized his 'low self-esteem' as he called it, that he could be free from that addiction, and actually win over the alcoholism.

You see this is the key point, and this is what St. Paul is warning us about; "Never be proud in your accomplishment or even how perfect you may think you are morally" is what he is saying to the community of Galacia.

And he is saying, "Remember it's not because of your actions that you are justified before God. It's because of what Christ did for us that we are justified. Because of that immense love, that is why we are justified. We obey not because we are scared of hell fire, but we obey the laws because of he who gave himself for us out of love. It's the only rational response." This is what St. Paul is reminding us to do.

But then, in there he is also facing the same type of comments that you will get,"OK, I believe. OK, I am saved; I am saved in True Parents, saved in Jesus. OK, I understand that they went the path of sacrifice to pay indemnity so that I can stand justified before God; even our family can stand justified before God. OK, I understand. But now that it's all done, I can go see God, I can stand before Him, now I'll do what I want." And St. Paul also says this, "Now I can do whatever I want. Alright I believe Jesus saves me; now I'll do whatever I want!"

Can you do that? Of course you can. That's free will. You can do that. But I told the Korean members, "What would it be like doing?" You see in Korea, sixty years ago, there were men and women from sixteen allied nations and the Korean peninsula that fought, risked their lives so that this nation could be free. It's not like in America for hundred years ago. This is sixty years ago.

Those people are still living. We meet them all the time when we do the Seunghwa ceremonies of ascension. Some of them have no legs. They lost them by explosion from grenades, or mines. It would be like going to those kinds of people saying, "You know what? You gave your life so that I can live in a free world, and let me spit on you." That's what it would be like, "Thank you for doing what you did. But you know I am really so great you had to do it anyways." And it would be like spitting on them.

That's the same thing that happens when we say, "Oh! God you saved me. OK, fine! Let me do what I want." Same thing! I asked the Korean congregation, "If you saw people who did that to a patriot of a nation who gave their life for this nation, for your freedom, and you saw somebody spit in their face, wouldn't you go up and challenge that person saying, 'What are you doing? Don't you know this person laid down their life for your freedom?' Wouldn't you challenge that person? Wouldn't any honest person challenge that person?" The answer of course is 'yes' because that's wrong.

And that is the same thing that St. Paul is dealing with. He's dealing with all this in this amazing quotation. We are justified not by our moral perfection, and the Law like the Pharisees thought, the ones who killed Christ. We are justified because of Christ, because of his immense love.

Let's move to Galatians 2:20. This is a little continuation of this; very famous, you have all heard this one too. Let's read together,

"I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me."

Aju!

This is so famous! The emptying of the self, the kenosis, the emptying of the self! Paul is talking about love. When we look at the self, maybe we are thinking some kind of meditation technique, he is talking about love.

Jesus said, "Those who seek to live will die, those who seek to die will live" That's a crazy statement, crazy! That is a crazy statement if you see it just from your normal eyes, "what do you mean 'those who seek to die will live?' Does that mean that we should all commit suicide and we will live? That's crazy!"

No! That's not what he is talking about. He is talking about this thing in the world of love. See, in the world of love you have to get rid of yourself to find deeper love. You have to; it's a rule. I cannot in my marriage say, "I am only going to do what I want Omma, and you have to respect. I can do what I want, come back when I want, with whoever I want, and you can't say anything. That's my independent human right." Yes, if you do that, you won't have a relationship, right?

There's this one famous person in Korea, he's saying, "I have an open marriage. I am a very open free-thinking man. I have an open marriage. I let my wife see other boyfriends, I can see girlfriends. We are cool with that!" There's a problem. There is no possibility for deep love in that relationship. Absolutely not!

Because it's simply hiding behind self-pleasure, hedonism. "I want the girlfriends. OK, you wife you can have the boyfriends to do what you want, so I can retain my independence." Almost self-congratulating! You see that relationship has no possibility of deepening, absolutely zero. No way! It's only when the couples lose their independence to one another that they can find the greatest love in their inter-dependence.

This is the law of love. This is how it is. And this is what Jesus is talking about and this is also what Paul is talking about, that, "I no longer live in myself; it is Christ who lives in me, because I live in the love of his heart." Amazing! Amazing! It is so insightful!

You know during the twenty one days, every night we had a nice training, a holy spirit healing service, and every day we saw miracles happening. People were being slain by the spirit, and people were being overtaken by spirit, sometimes feeling immense peace, sometimes their sickness was healed. Incredible experiences! And these miracles were occurring. But I always warned everybody, "Remember this is not magic like magic spells." What is the difference between magic and miracles? Magic, human beings can control, miracles, only God can control.

When we are singing, "Chambumonim Eog Mansei" this is not a magical spell to get what I want all the time. This is an expression of our deepest internal nature. So it is not a magic spell. The reason the miracles were happening is because we were offering it with a pure heart, mind and intension. That's why the miracles were happening.

And what I am so amazed about is that we have some people on staff, they had hard times in the church actually, very hard times. They were ostracized, they were chastised, and they were chased out; but, they are part of our staff now and they were persecuted when they came onto the staff, "How could somebody like that be on the staff?" And there was always this sense of the pharisaic culture.

But you know this time this brother came down with us, and for the first time he felt like a brother to everybody; that's what he said. In the power of 'True Parents Eog Mansei', the praising of True Parents, all those divisions, all those pharisaic concepts, "I am morally more perfect than you. You sit back there! "No! We are all sinners, we all have sin, and it's because of True Parents' love that we all are here. And when we praised that name we became one. That's amazing! We became one!

And this brother, they were embarrassing him and weeping and he was crying; he actually is an outside guy, but he is our brother. He was in there doing all the practice with us. Amazing! He is our brother.

You see in the realm of Shim Jung, all the walls break down. That's the power. And I want to read together with you Galatians 3:28, because here it is; this is it! Let's read this together. This is it!

"There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. If you belong to Christ then you are Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise."

Aju!

I never understood this thing! I never could feel it, never! I heard it many times. I could not feel it! What was so amazing is that when we were all together, sweating and sending True Parents energy, changing the vibration and frequency, and chanting, "Chambumonim Eog Mansei" -- my God! -- we were all doing it with the same heart, the same pure intension in mind and heart to love True Parents, to send filial energy, "Even if my legs fall off, Father, you have strength in your legs today!"

That kind of heart is what everybody did it with. And when we all were one in that love, when we were sending all this to True Parents we became one. We lost ourselves, we lost our ego, and we became one in the love of True Parents.

And I never cried that much in my life! My God! I have trained a lot during meditation. I could control my tears, but not there! Not there; I could not control it! I can't believe it. I am quite embarrassed when I start crying in public; it's quite embarrassing, honestly. But I could not control it; it was unbelievable. I was saying," What is happening?" It was incredible!

When we were there we also had amazing discoveries about Principle, about the truth that was revealed. When we were there, of course for the last two weeks we've discussed –many of you have probably seen the video twice- the video of the Fibonacci spiral that we can find in nature.

We can find the sequence in nature from the phyllotaxis, the way the trees branch out, and also from the way your veins branch out in your body, petal numbers 1 – 1 – 2 – 3 – 5 – 8 – 13 - 21; same sequence, same pattern, same spiral that can be created from the mathematical formula. And that spiral is what you see all over nature, from the spiral galaxies, the spirals on your finger tips- your finger prints- from your DNA helix, from parrots' bird beaks, to horns of sheep and all that. Exactly same! Exactly same! 1,618 is the ratio wherever you go in nature, from sub-atomic particles, in zero gravity, the buoyancy, shells, fossil forms, everything. Everything in nature!

I was looking the other day; there was a pineapple. And I said, "My God! There is a Fibonacci spiral on that pineapple!" Take a look, you'll see it. In Yeosu there are pine trees. You look at the bottom of pine trees; there is a Fibonacci spiral right at the bottom of the pine trees. It's everywhere in nature, everywhere!

We have all seen that video so I am not going to show it again. But what is amazing is that we also discovered that in order to make this Fibonacci spiral, you have to first settle some conditions. Let's look at some of the formula. I want to go through this quickly, because we did this last week.

This is the Fibonacci formula, golden ratio formula. In order for me to make a Fibonacci rectangle and from it to create a Fibonacci spiral I need first a perfect square. I need first a perfect square. Then I can divide the base; create a new radius; than new big circle is created. Then I double the base and where the circle and the double length of the base intersect I raise a line and I create a rectangle. That's the Fibonacci rectangle, and then when I keep dividing it up by squares, perfect squares, it keeps spiraling into itself. And that is where you get the Fibonacci spiral.

So in order to make any of those amazing forms, the Fibonacci forms that you find in nature everywhere, everywhere, spiral galaxies, finger prints, DNA helixes, whatever -wherever you go, you'll see it, if you know what to look for- in order to make that, I first have to have more foundational forms. I first have to have more basic forms. I need a perfect square. We went over this last week.

From the whole singularity, 13.7 billion years ago, we have a one dimension, the singularity. In order to move into a two dimensions, I have to create a line. So the line extends from the singularity. Now I am in the two dimensional form. Now time can be plotted.

But I don't have space yet; I can't gauge relative distances, because there's no boundaries. It's just lines extending into infinity; so I need to close these off in order to get space. I close them off; now I have space!

With this square if it rotates, the edges, the corners create a perfect circle. That's a very interesting shape! Have you ever seen a circle, and inside, it has a square and some lines to the center? I think I saw that form somewhere before! I think I saw something like that before! (Applause) Praise God! Praise Him! Oh Lord! Yes I absolutely got crazy about this because this is unbelievable. I love math now!

OK, let's look at the next one; watch this. This is unbelievable! So in order to make the Fibonacci spiral which is found all over nature, you first have to create the formula, or in order to create the spiral you need a perfect square, you need a square. From this form, the most basic forms, we see there is male form and female form. Male is straight, female is curved.

What is interesting is that you can't make a circle from a dot. You can't. Geometrically you cannot draw a circle from a dot. You first have to create lines. So you first actually have to have straight lines before you can create radiuses and then create circles. So it is very interesting. This is actually mirroring what we see in the creation in Adam and Eve; first the make a form, and then the female form, at least in the Genesis depiction. This is also geometrically true.

From the center the two dimensions come, time and space emerge, the most foundational forms emerge and they expend to the entire universe.

What we do when we manifest the Principle, we go backwards, "Give and receive action, four position foundation, may I inherit the true love of God!" We go into the universe, the center.

OK, next: If we do this in up, down, right, left and back and front, which Father talks about all the time, then we get what is known as an octahedron and then this rotates in all directions and then we get a perfect sphere. Perfect, perfect sphere! That is to say that anything that is spherical in this whole universe including the planets and the sun and all that, in order to create them you first you need the more basic architecture of more simpler forms and that is circle, square, lines and center. Oh! My God!

Now watch this. Once you have the circle form, then you can create what is known as the vesica piscis and that is when two circles overlap and they share the same radius. They share the same radius and they overlap. So that is like that little football form in the middle of those two circles overlapping. There is a little football form, you can see it; it's where they overlap.

From that comes all of trigonometry; all of trigonometry emerges from that shape, all of it! Ovals, of course triangles, 60 x 60 x 60 triangles, 30 x 60 x 90 triangles; that's where they are born. That's why ancient artists call the vesica piscis the womb of the universe.

All of trigonometry emerges from here. A whole division of mathematics emerges right from here. In order to get this, you need to have a circle; in order to get the circle, you need the lines, you need the square, and you need the dot. You need the principle forms. The first forms mentioned in the Principle that says the whole universe is created off of this forms.

OK, keep going.

Once you extend this and you have six circles around a center -- so seven circles are there– all of them share the same radius. This is called the flower of life. This you'll find everywhere, from the Mediterranean to Egypt to Korea. If you go to see temples, on the doors you'll see beautiful little flowers, six petals. This is this pattern. It's made from this architecture, from circles that are sharing radius. This can expand. You can just keep drawing this continuously to infinity.

Keep going. Right there. Stop please.

This goes on, every layer. From this pattern, you get every shape IN THE UNIVERSE, IN THE UNIVERSE! Everything, everything from hexagons to all hypotonic cells, the tetrahedron, the hexahedron, the octahedron, the dodecahedron, the Icosahedron, the Metatron's cube, everything comes out of here, every shape, every single shape you know comes out of here in the universe. This is all based on a circle with a square with lines to the center. It's all based on the foundational forms of the Divine Principle!

Praise God! Let's give God some glory! (Applause) Come on people! Are you sleeping? Oh my God!

It's amazing, geometrics! You cannot have math without these foundational forms. All math is connected to geometry. Trigonometry does not exist without these forms. You can't have it!

If you understand what immense power is within this, the beginning of time and space, the universe, the foundational architecture of the entire universe, THE ENTIRE UNIVERSE is right here. That's why I tell you, "Wear your medallion, it may save your life one day!"

Watch this. We talked about that last week. Watch this! This is unbelievable! Next one, please. When you are conceived -- that's when you are conceived -- when mommy and daddy's seed come together, that is you! That's you! Now by a process of mitosis, that is cell division, you are going to start doubling. So you go from one cell, then you go to two cells, and then you go to four cells and then you go to eight cells. This is an actual picture when you were four cells big. You are in a sphere and you are organized in this pattern. All of us, including myself. I was once this small guy.

Now watch this! Unbelievable! Notice they are not just floating around in some fluid. The four cells are not just floating in fluid; they have a pattern! Watch what the pattern is; three at the base, one at the top. That's the pattern when you are four cells big.

When you connect the centers of those cells with a straight line, you will get what is knows as a tetrahedron. You will get that. Then by cell division, you will become eight cells, and when you become eight cells, you will have another tetrahedron, not facing up, now facing down and they are merged together and that is called the star tetrahedron. See it, when you connect all the centers. That's called the star tetrahedron.

But there is something phenomenal about this shape. Don't think I am crazy! Watch this. There is something phenomenal about it. You have seen this probably in the Star of David and shapes like that. Watch this. When it's 3D it's totally different. Watch this as it rotates, and …stop!

It's a perfect cube within a circle! A PERFECT CUBE within a circle!! (Applause)

Did you know that when you were eight cells big, you were actually the Tong Il mark? My God! Did you know that? When you are eight cells big, you are the Tong Il mark. Can you believe that?

Now watch this, very famous painting. It's called the Vitruvian Man by Leonardo. I should have put a fig leaf there, I am sorry! (Laugh)But that's how he drew it, so I am just being true to the artist OK? So anyway this is the Vitruvian Man.

Vitruvian Man

Vitruvian Man

Now you can notice obviously Leonardo himself drew some forms around him. You see some of the same forms. You see the square and you see the circle. So this is an average. If you are going to take a hundred people, you stand them in crosses like this, how the man is standing on a cross. The length between their hands will be the same as their height. That's why there is a square drawn around that man, because the length of his hands becomes his height, perfect square. Averages OK? You take a hundred people, one, one thousandth of an inch will be the difference. Literally a perfect square!

The center of that square… Where did Father say the center of the human body is? What did he say? No, we are Unificationists, don't be shy about it. It's fundamental to our theology. It's your reproductive organs, my friends.

Guess what the center of that square is? It is that organ. That's the center.

Now when he's standing with his hands up like that and he's got his legs open, this creates a radius, from the navel which is now the center, and now you have a big circle. But watch this. Now you have two different centers. When you merge those centers together, when they come together… I think I saw that form before! I think I saw that form somewhere before. You found the same foundational form when you are eight cells big and when you are an average adult. SAME PROPORTION, SAME FORM! The Principle mark.

Now watch this. Father says the center of the body of course is what we talk about now, the sexual organ, and the center of our spirit body is our heart. So we have the distance between the heart and the reproductive organ that creates a small little sphere. And then there is a small little sphere within the square. The ratio between those is 123.67. Did you know that that happens to be the ratio between THE EARTH AND THE MOON! Praise God! Come on praise Him People! (Applause)Praise Him! Do it!

You heard in the Principle, the microcosmic, the macrocosmic, God creates from the logos, He creates from the foundational forms, which is the four position foundation, the give and receive action, and all of creation is patterned in the image, and that you see it right before your eyes.

You see once we discover this truth, when we see that this is really the architecture of the universe, we can see why True Parents have discovered the secret of heaven. We can see that this is true. The Principle is true. The forms that God wanted to create -- the four position foundation and the give and receive action, that is true! You see it from when you are an eight cell organism to the pattern and the ratio of the earth and the moon.

What does it mean to say that the earth we walk on is in the same proportion as that of a human being, is in the same proportion as you have when you are conceived? It's mind blowing!

So when we understand this is true, then the one who has revealed it and the center of the Principle, the center of the four position foundation, the center of the give and receive action is the purpose of creation, is True Parents. When we realize that and we move towards that together as one, one vibration, one voice, singing "Chambumonim Eog Mansei", we will truly then discover what is the culture of heart.

People always ask me, "What is the culture of heart? I don't know what you mean by that." I did not know how to answer what is the culture of heart. It's not clear, it's very abstract.

Now I can answer it. It's so simple!

The culture of heart is "Chambumonim Eog Mansei"; that is the culture of heart! Within there we have filial love. Within there we have love being returned to the ones who gave themselves to us. We have the desire to glorify, to love, to elevate True Parents. In there is where we touch eternity; it's where we meet our eternal life, and it is within that power that we also become one. And it is with that power I believe that the world and the nations also can become one.

Brothers and sisters, let's give True Parents and Hananim a big, big round of applause because they deserve it.

Let's all rise up, and let's end with True Parents' final words. This is from Cheon Seong Gyeong 341, and let's read this again, "Consider the three Chinese characters that make up the term 'True Parents'. It is through True Parents that history is governed, through True Parents that the foundation for returning to the new original world emerges; through True Parents that the internal connection to subjugate Satan is established, and it is through True Parents that the center is determined. I will occupy the external world, conquer Satan and finally liberate God and resolve His sorrow. Aju!"

Hyung-jin nim's Final Prayer:

Let's all gather our hearts and offer our final prayer. Let's lift up our hands in the heart of glorifying heaven. Let's pray.

Dearest most beloved Heavenly God, our most beloved True Parents! We thank You so much. Father, we are not proud before You. We know that we are sinners; we have sinned. We know we do it every day. But Father, your son that You have sent that comes from your dual characteristics, from your logos, he had to walk the path of indemnity, the path of Christ, perfecting the role of Christ.

It is in that love that we stand justified; it is in that love that our families are justified before You and receive the blessing, receive resurrection and new life and eternal life. It's not our own effort.

Father, let us realize this today. Let us realize that we need forgiveness. Let us be humble enough to ask for forgiveness in our own lives and always be humble enough to ask for it before You. Father, give us that strength because, ironically in the world of love, when we rid ourself of ourselves, we find true happiness. We find a happiness that cannot be contained by the self, a happiness that is everlasting and eternal, a love that is ever flowing, an outpouring that is over powering.

Father, we pray that we may enter into that realm of Shim Jung, that tonight at 7:30 when all our brothers and sisters get together in this sanctuary once again and we sing with one voice, we sing with one frequency and one vibration, the sound of 'Chambumonim Eog Mansei' will emanate through the halls, and into the universe, shaking this universe and giving strength to True Parents, giving You inspiration in your heart that we are children that are worthy, Father, to stand before You.

We thank you so much because we know You love us not because we are great. You love us because of what True Parents have done.

Father, we want to come before You today, we want to truly understand your realm of heart. Let us come into your heart. Let us move beyond ourselves and move into your eternal nature.

We thank you so much Father. We pray all these things in our own names, as we glorify You and our True Parents, in our names as central blessed families. Aju!

Let us manifest the Principle one more time. Give and receive action, four position foundation, may I inherit the true love of God, and glorify heaven till my ascension. Aju!

Inspirations on the Special Yeosu Workshop

Hyung Jin Moon
January 4, 2011

Hoon-sook nim encouraged me so much. Without her I would not have been able to continue. She used to carry me on my back when I was little. Since then I have always liked her.

I received healing three times. I had put out a disc in my neck, but within a few days, I experienced a lightning-like energy going into my neck, which had been troubling me continuously. This energy completely eased the pain.

These healings are possible due to True Parents. If you participated with a pure attitude and invested your heart, these kinds of healings could take place.

The twenty-one days have ended. But we cannot just think, Oh everything is okay now.

Even now, the situation is very serious. As a chosen nation, this country has no value if it does not accept the Returning Lord. I am sorry to say this. If Korea cannot fulfill that task, thousands of years of preparation will have been in vain. It cannot be used. It's that serious.

If we look at the world situation, it is very strange. Much danger exists. We need to know the kind of era we are living in.... It's a serious time. A time when we can all die in a moment. So, at this time, this country has to quickly awaken. It must swiftly receive the Lord. If we do not do our best and fulfill our 5 percent, this country will face judgment.

We have spent twenty-one days under True Parents' grace, but as the situation remains serious, we must not stop offering Jeong Seong.

Myeong-dae Kim (participant's reflection)

Mr. Kim had been cured of a back injury when Father touched him in 1959; he has been in pain again recently

I could never stay seated, even for ten minutes, and when I sat on the floor, I could not sit straight. I had to stand up frequently for short intervals.... I was so immersed in the workshop program that it was not until yesterday morning that I realized that my back pain was completely gone.

Lucilla Soligno (participant's reflection)

This twenty-one-day condition was a way for us to reconnect with God and bring down the Holy Spirit like a Pentecost. In the evening sessions we had a sung meditation all together, chanting Chan! Bumonim eog-mansei. We began in a sitting position. The vibration of the singing created a stream of energy. After about half an hour we would all stand up and send all the gathered energy to True Parents. When we did that I could feel the energy we were sending in their direction.

During these sessions I felt the heaviness going out of my body, making me feel lighter, and making me forget the discomfort of sitting on the floor, or the tiredness from keeping my arms in the air for so long.

Eight times each day, we offered a special prayer condition for God's will to be done in Korea, usually all together in the main hall. Once or twice a day we offered the condition in our rooms. At first, it wasn't easy to get the children to come to these prayer times. The small children would be jumping and running around. But gradually they all began to take part in the prayer time and to enjoy it.

In our room we were Korean, Japanese and Western, about thirty of us, with three generations represented (as Father had asked). Every single bit of space was taken. To me, this is what the kingdom of heaven means. Everyone took care of each other, like one family in that small space. You are not worried about the external discomfort. We didn't have major personality clashes. I felt the love of God present with us. Once you are focused on a higher purpose, you don't worry about practical or external things. That was wonderful.
