Re. : Instructions regarding the Eight Holy Days and Church Holidays and Schedule of Events

May God and True Parents’ blessings and love be with brothers and sisters in your region, mission nations and providential organizations.

The tenth year of Cheon Il Guk (2010) is a historic year, symbolic in that it represents the providential number 10, the “returning number,” which comes after the number 9. During the 43rd True God’s Day celebration, True Father spoke about “uniting the solar and lunar calendars and using a single calendar.” On January 8th, True Parents gave instructions to celebrate the eight Holy Days and all church holidays according to the lunar calendar starting from January 1 on the lunar calendar (February 14 this year on the Gregorian calendar).

Example: True God’s Day shall be celebrated this year on the first day of the first month on the lunar calendar (which falls on February 14, 2010 on the Gregorian calendar). The anniversary of the founding of HSA-UWC in Korea shall be celebrated this year on the first day of the fifth month on the lunar calendar (which falls on June 12, 2010 on the Gregorian calendar) along with the Day of All True Things. The anniversary of True Father’s release from Hungnam special labor camp in North Korea, which had been celebrated on October 14 on the Gregorian calendar, shall now be celebrated on October 14 on the lunar calendar.

Providential significance of this six-day period celebration (January 1 - 6, 2010 on the lunar calendar)

On January 8, True Parents spoke about this six-day celebration period saying:

This period will be a time for a festival to celebrate and commemorate True Parents’ birthday. It represents the six-day period that was required for God’s creation of the heaven and earth and a period that completes the providence of re-creation through which the Cain and Abel can be reconciled centering on the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, the king of kings. A new beginning will be made on the seventh day, after this six-day period.

This is to announce the details of the events that will be held during this period based on these instructions. Please be mindful of the new dates in your preparations.
