The Significance of the Forty Day Separation from Satan

The ideal being is one who has shim jung in the subject position and the physical body in the object position. In the secular world, people's lives are based only on external ability. They unite only according to external things. The ability people have is the dominating factor that rules man today. If I have ability in music, that becomes the subject that dominates my life. Whatever you choose to be, whether it is a politician, lawyer, etc., you will become one with that ability. Becoming one with and following only the physical body has false value.

The reason the fall occurred was because Satan yearned for Adam and Eve's position. He yearned for certain physical attributes. Satan did not look at God's love from a holistic view, only externally. Heavenly Father loved Lucifer. He had a special purpose for the angelic world. Why do we need the angelic world? Mankind was in the position to receive Heavenly Father's love. Mankind must have the ability to become like Him. In order for Adam to inherit Heavenly Father's eternal love and build the kingdom of heaven on earth, he needed to have some basis to reach spiritual perfection. Having subjugated and dominated the spiritual world with love, Adam and Eve would ultimately reach Heavenly Father's level. Heavenly Father needed to unite with mankind (His children) to reach His ideal and to substantiate His ideal and love. In order for Adam and Eve to receive and understand Heavenly Father's heart, they must have that same experience as a base. The angelic world was necessary so that Adam and Eve could become the physical embodiment of God. Through that, God would have physical dominion over the world. The angelic world was absolutely necessary for Adam and Eve and for Heavenly Father to reach perfection.

The angel was in the position of object to mankind, but the angel subjugated Adam and Eve in the act of the fall. We can see the clear result of the act. The fall occurred because Satan was longing for the position of Adam and Eve. Adam and Eve were receiving a different love than what he was receiving. The object longed for the subject position. There was a reversal of roles. Satan tempted Adam and Eve in order to somehow subjugate them. He thought he could become one with Adam and Eve and then receive that kind of love from Heavenly Father himself. Tempting Adam and Eve absolutely deviated from God's ideal.

Love encompasses everything. The creation, humanity and all things exists within love. The ideal is for mankind's physical body to unite with his shim jung. I am not denying that we have a physical body. Father has all these physical attributes too, but these physical things must belong to Heavenly Father, the essence of whom is shim jung. If you lived like that you would look at each other with the eyes of love. Ability in music and poetry all belong in the realm of love. None of that is the same as love, but they exist within love. The Archangel has rejected this ideal. That is why many of you still have that kind of thinking. That is the fallen nature. We have to go back to the ideal relationship of subject and object. The whole restoration process consists of trying to establish this ideal unity of shim jung as subject united with the physical body which is object.

The forty day separation period is part of our lives. We need to understand the importance of it. Do you know why we practice it?

Let's look at a failure that occurred in response to the forty day separation period. The symbol of the forty day period at the time of Noah clearly shows the claiming of ten generations. The forty day flood was the foundation to restore the vertical fall. It was vertical indemnity carried out horizontally. It is important for mankind to establish restoration with the physical world centered on the key players (central figures) who are to take responsibility. Within their lifetime, restoration has to take place. After the forty days separation through the flood, the world's situation was the same as it's time of origin. It symbolized the primary state of the Garden of Eden. Within the garden, there has to be an ideal subject/object relationship and four position foundation. For 120 years Noah built the ark. Through the forty day flood (separation) the world was cleansed. It came back to the original position. From this time, every action had to go forward according to the principle and Heavenly Father's ideal.

Noah was in the position to restore the Cain and Abel situation too. The reason Cain and Abel first came about was to restore Adam and Eve's failure. Through their own actions man could be separated from evil. Because Cain killed Abel, man annulled Heavenly Father's action to restore mankind. There was then no way, no foundation for man to reciprocate with God. There was a foundation of faith accomplished through Abel's offering, but the foundation of substance did not exist since Cain killed Abel. Through man's hands, God was denied once again.

This very act of rejecting Heavenly Father has to be restored. There has to be Cain and Abel restoration, Cain and Abel unity. This could take place centering upon Noah, who was standing on the foundation of the successful offering done by Abel. In building the ark that same foundation could be inherited. I am trying to go step by step to make this clear. All these little things you should have known a long time ago. That is why my life is getting more and more difficult. I have to pay attention to little details and that is not my nature. Within Noah's family the situation of Cain and Abel had to occur. Who was in Cain's position? [Some answered Ham and some answered Shem.] You are right, Ham was in the Abel position to his brother Shem, but in relation to Noah, Ham was in Cain's position. The offering is accomplished through the one in the Abel position and Noah was the one who had made the offering. It is not a brotherly relationship anymore, it is now a father/son relationship. If you think about it, that should have made it even easier for unity to take place. It is much easier for father and son to unite. God was trying to loosen the burden of mankind through this, but still, this son rejected his father!

Ham felt it was not proper to see his father naked. To his own subjective judgement it seemed wrong and inferior. The image of his own father looked inferior. Just as Lucifer had resentment toward Heavenly Father. Lucifer resented the fact that he could not receive love like Adam and Eve could. Based on his idea, the act of love seemed unjust. Satan's action was once again passed on and prevailed over Noah's attempt to restore. It was like the second garden of Eden. God thought Adam and Eve looked beautiful in their birthday suits. If Ham was united with Heavenly Father his father would have looked beautiful to him. Ham rejected this notion.

The period of ten generations to Noah was a process to restore the ideal intention of Heavenly Father. The ten generations was substantial indemnity. In Divine Principle it says the number ten is the number of perfection. Does anybody know why? Let's give and take. [Many brothers and sisters offered ideas.] What is the significance of the number forty? [Three members offered answers.] This kind of give and take is good. It makes you work harder. All the little things that I am saying to you do not just come. I have to think hard about them. You have to do that too. Ultimately you have to understand. Me too. Again and again I read the principle book, and each time I understand more deeply. You have to understand the idea of the three stages. To go to perfection, you have to go through the growth stage. Use your effort centered upon Heavenly Father and principle. Physically pick up the book and read it until you get it. You cannot rely on someone else to come up and speak to you all the time. What if you become a pioneer, working on your own somewhere? I have to do it through my own effort. An understanding of the principle will come and I can reciprocate Heavenly Father's love. You have to reach that point, otherwise your coming here does not mean anything.

We have been listening to Father without a clear understanding of principle. Many of the things I say you are just now realizing. In a sense it is a relief, but in another way disturbing. How can we really support Heavenly Father? The people of Israel did not support Moses, even after all the miracles God sent them. They still complained. [Hyo Jin Nim asks for some explanation of the forty day separation to sum up all the other answers given. One brother gives an answer.] In order to reach perfection, even before he created the universe, Heavenly Father had to lay a foundation for the formation, growth and perfection of His ideal. There needed to be initiation and then a period of growth into perfection. What He idealized is manifested on this Earth. To manifest His ideal, He made the creation. With what? By going through seven stages Heavenly Father manifested creation. God initiated by giving what? Two extremes. He said, "Let there be light and dark." This pattern followed through a growth stage ultimately reaching the creation of mankind, Adam and Eve (also two extremes). The ultimate stage is based upon Heavenly Father and man and woman. In unity they go through the growth stage into perfection. Their growth into perfection will accomplish the Kingdom of Heaven that ultimately belongs to Heavenly Father. The number ten symbolizes these three stages which lead to perfection.

The ancestors of mankind were in the position to live up to God's ideal, but they failed. The person who is taking responsibility for the foundation has to substantially restore that failure. All restoration has to occur on this earth through mankind. After ten generations, Noah came. Through Noah, the forty day flood judgement came. The flood was vertical indemnity restored through horizontal action.

Do you get it or not? Does it make sense to you? That is the significance of the number ten and the number four. Ultimately perfection will take place based on the four position foundation centered on Heavenly Father. For Heavenly Father to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on Earth there must be eternal perfection. It has to come to a point of restoring the eternal Kingdom of Heaven. That is the purpose of multiplication. Through having children, we will be 'passed on', carried on into the future. As long as there is a product of our love, it will go on forever.

I can truly understand Father's heart. How many of you tried to create something? When do you feel most frustrated? As I progress, I feel depressed if I see there is no give and take. I am trying to accomplish by giving out, but with no give and take it becomes very difficult. I expect to give and take with you on a certain level. You break my expectations. When I watch Father speak, I see he does not pause for the same reasons I do. I can see his heart change. So many times he is trying to reach out to you and relate to you. If you cannot grasp one thing, he tries another. You are not giving as much. I cannot accept that. The principle is our life! We must understand that. We call this the truth. Throughout history people have been longing for truth. You have to try to become one with the truth. People sacrificed and died for the truth. We sit here with knowledge, but the essence of what you are actually giving to become one with it is no good. We do nothing to unite! What can I do? Just come here each week and weep? I spent all this weekend to prepare for this day, disregarding all my school work. I am just like you. I feel the way you do. It is harder and harder for me to sit down in one place, but I do it for you. Can you do it for God? I am determined to live the way I believe is right until I die. What about you? Even the recording work that I do is difficult. Even the things that I hate I am trying to do for the sake of love.

Some of you are good carpenters, engineers, talented in music, you have many abilities, but right now we are mobilized to restore mankind. This is not the ideal situation. We have to sacrifice what I am gifted with for the sake of restoration.

Kook Jin Nim is a much better speaker than me, I know that. But as the older brother I am trying to fulfill this thing to help you because you do not understand. I do not care if he is better. Someone needs to speak to you. I can become better through doing it. I have to set an example because I am the older brother of this family. I must sacrifice myself for the sake of God. That is why I am coming here. I am trying to be grateful. I have to cut off from all the past messed up ways. There is no way to unite with principle if you cannot overcome yourself. You will never be able to unite with Heavenly Father. That is why man fell. That is why Satan fell, he could not overcome himself.

Do not build the wall of Jericho in your heart. Heavenly Father says anyone who re-builds those walls will be punished. What do you think the wall of Jericho is? It is the barrier to entering Canaan. It is Satan.

Some of you know Father is coming back today, so I have to be at the airport. We truly have to be repentful for America. Okay? Why is it necessary to always have to do this? You have to become the embodiment of True Parents, understand the principle and live according to principle. Within the leadership I am trying to set this absolute foundation. If I am not there I have someone taking my place. Joe Longo takes responsibility. Things have cleared up, even that one person [a brother with a special skill which he kept to himself was mentioned by HJN in last week's 2-26-89 speech], has changed and pledged to me. So people around the Manhattan Center know that Joe is in charge. They think that he is on a power trip because he is trying to do what I told him to do. There has to be absolute order within a group. He does not abuse power. He tries his best to make people unite. What is power? Being too authoritative or too subjective? There is no 'too', only absolute subject and absolute object. What kind of perception are you basing your judgments on? We have to stop thinking based on fallen things, the patterns of our past. Look at the typical American family, there is no subject/object relationship. That is why so many families are breaking up. Even the children become subject and deny their own mother and father. They say, "I am my own self."Some kids were brought into this world accidentally. Is that ideal? Our thinking should be based on the ideal.

There is a clear break of subject and object in the United States. Americans do not want to live by this absolute idea of subject and object. American society is just barely maintaining itself. Our system has a conflicting quality to it. You can think anything you want, but laws prevent us from being able to do anything we want. If man's joy comes through fulfilling his ideal, then he needs to be able to go forward with action. In a democratic society there are laws saying that you cannot just do whatever you want. People are complaining that this democratic society is becoming more like a police state. They say "We do not want authority in our lives". But think about it. In a society where you are allowed to think anything you want, eventually someone is going to unite with some crazy, terrible thought and make a harmful result to society. There is no ideal uniting this society so we can think what we want. We need laws to protect us from some people acting out their harmful thoughts. There has to be an idea, one unifying ideal to create a harmonious society.

Do you think that this democracy is an ideal? No way. The only reason for a democracy is to receive the Messiah, to give God a chance to get started. If there is principle wherever we go there is no problem. Because then there is an ideal subject/object relationship and then there can be an ideal love and an ideal experience.

I am coming here through my commitment to living the principle. If I did not care, I would not be here. I would not care about you. Does that make you worry when I say that? Anyway, do not worry because I am here.

In the Garden of Eden God gave the command not to take the fruit. He knew what the consequences would be. He knew about evil, but He had this ideal destiny. Adam and Eve had to unite with God of their own accord. During this time they were left alone. It was a period of responsibility for them to make their own decision to follow God's way. Heavenly Father created this ideal. Mankind must do the same, creating something substantial to become one with it. Heavenly Father is encouraging them to follow His way. If Adam and Eve felt temptation but rejected it, they would have been acting on their own to unite with God's ideal. That would have been fulfilling out of their own desire.

When I write music I have certain chords in mind. Using these chords I try many different melodies over and over. Within this certain structure there is perhaps one ideal melody line. There are many altogether, but only one that is ideal. So I try harder to come up with more combinations. By looking at collective work I find some combinations that might work. A good song has to give me goose bumps. There is a possibility of not finding the ideal and instead settling for something less, following other things that come into my mind. In a sense that is the attitude that allowed mankind to fall. Do you understand that? In your life, what will give you that joy, those goose bumps? Uniting with Heavenly Father.

That is what I shoot for in my life. How can I live to get the goose bumps? When I give my best with no doubts and no regrets. Then I feel truly free to be in front of God and say, "Today I did my utmost." That is the goal I try to bring into my life every day. Your physical body, from your head to your toes will feel joy, but that is very hard to achieve. That is what all those drug addicts are shooting for, that one moment of ecstacy, but they will never find it in the true sense.

We have some very big challenges in our lives. When you make love giving your utmost, you will feel joy. Your whole body will feel it. That kind of feeling must come. Nothing is hidden. Everything in creation is here for us to enjoy. You have to become one with God's ideal. All knowledge of love will come to you, but it is not automatic.

Until I see you again, you guys take care of yourself. Is my coming here to talk helping you? If Father asks are you going to say you do not need me here? What about Rev. Park and Rev. Kamiyama?

Make unity centering upon principle in your lives. Please try a little more. I expect you to progress, you cannot do everything overnight. We must accomplish the perfection level within this lifetime. Do not forget that. I am not just saying that. Understand the seriousness of this or else the ideal will never come.

Do not forget this serious responsibility. Pray and think principle. I encourage you to read principle every day, over and over. Principle should be a part of my life. We have to act substantially on this belief. Do not say "I read principle ten times and that is enough, I understand it." How can you say that you understand God and eternal love? When I am with Father, new things happen. They are not based on my past, but new development within me. Love is eternal. It is always developing and growing anew. When a new experience occurs I am kind of shocked. It is not perfect, it needs to "learn to walk" into perfection, but I can then develop it. Our root, our study has to be the principle.

I must establish an absolute subject/object relationship with Father. I have to try and endure my personal feeling, but if I center on principle then I can understand why he is telling me to do certain things. It is always so that I can become a better man.

Uniting with Heavenly Father

It is nice to see everyone. Today I would like to share something with you that I feel very deeply about. It is important and serious. It is the most valuable understanding that I have. From my heart I would like to share about the way to overcome Satan.

It is true that we face a great and formidable task because we are here with the purpose and mission to restore the world to Heavenly Father. When we face the challenge it is very difficult. It is a battle starting on the individual level. Often we are fighting against the way of life we led before coming here. We are confronted with the thoughts, lifestyle and values of our past. One must overcome these things and there has to be a certain way to overcome.

I am sure that you have prayed many times trying to unite with Heavenly Father. The first thing we need to do is call out to Heavenly Father for insight and wisdom to break through whatever barrier we might have. But before we fall into this pattern, we cannot be so vague as to just say we need prayer. We need a clear, specific way to deal with these obstacles.

Before I go any further I would like to mention John 5:19. It is relevant to our discussion.[John 5:19 reads "Then Jesus said to them, 'Verily, verily I say unto you, the Son can do nothing of himself, but what he sees the Father do: for whatever things he does, the Son also does likewise.'"] In order for Heavenly Fathers son to act he must see what Heavenly Father has done. Understanding has to first come from God. To become an embodiment of God and receive God's blessing, the son must follow the Father's ways. That is the ideal. The son does not do anything of his own accord. That is God's way of claiming His son. You have to follow this. There is no other way. You must unite with your Father, period.

With that understanding look at how Adam and Eve failed to fulfill God's commandment and instead took from the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. God specifically told them what to do and what not to do. Adam could have become the son of Heavenly Father. He could have substantiated an ideal parent/child relationship with God.

In order for God to reach His ideal He must have a child (mankind). That is the purpose of creation. Without Adam and Eve absolutely uniting with Heavenly Father, His ideal cannot be substantiated. Restoration is inevitable. Heavenly Father must try to fulfill His ideal, even going through indemnity and restoration. He must. That was His intention from the moment of the conception of the creation.

Heavenly Father must restore the fall of mankind. He cannot do it alone. This is why we have to know how to separate from Satan in our lives. The reason God chose Cain and Abel to make an offering was so He could restore the fallen act of man. There has to be key players for the course of restoration to take place, and they are Cain and Abel. Adam had fallen. He could not be used. Through Abel, Cain could be restored. How was this possible when they were both a product of the fall? The reason they could stand in the presence of God is because Heavenly Father's destiny is to fulfill the purpose of creation. That is His absolute goal. He must fulfil His ideal. He wanted a parental relationship. He wanted sons and daughters. You need an object for a love relationship. You alone cannot have a reciprocal relationship. Ideally speaking mankind was to become the object to receive God's love. This was the essence of everything. In order to receive, man in a sense has to be like God. He has to do something to be in this position.

Heavenly Father knew what the consequences of the fall could be and that His ideal might not be substantiated. That is why He gave man the commandment. The ideal eternal world could only come about through mankind's unity with God. Adam and Eve had to unite with Heavenly Father through their own effort and accord. They were in the position to choose the right way. They had to decide to unite with God's ideal. What path will you take, the path of good or the path of evil? It is as easy as that. Adam and Eve were in the position to long for the ideal world themselves. If they understood, they would have united by their own will. It was crucial for them to obey. Heavenly Father is still longing for that ideal world. He did not intend for mankind to fall. They were in the position where the fall was possible, but they had to make the right choice on their own.

The reason that Cain and Abel are so crucial is that this is the way to separate ourselves from Satan's way of life. Heavenly Father needed somebody to represent Him, so Abel was chosen. God needed a substantial base to reverse the fallen act. In order to restore fallen nature which is false, Abel has to follow the opposite direction. The first fallen act was out of Eve's selfish, carnal desire. She wanted to have her eyes opened, to be like God. The second act was out of her desire to come back to God. Both acts were without God's consent, but God could use Abel to represent Him because Abel symbolized the second act which was the more principled of the two. God needs a substantial base so He can work to separate evil. Cain had to be subjugated by Abel for restoration to take place.

I am sure that you have had many experiences like this. You receive a mission that you know you have to do. You want to do it for the sake of God, for the sake of True Parents, even for the sake of your own salvation, but the physical body always says no. It has a million reasons. . . you are tired, you should rest so you can replenish your energy then you can do a better job. We are faced with these things every day! We give ourselves physical reasons to procrastinate, to put things off until tomorrow.

You must understand something. Within yourself you want to commit and connect with Heavenly Father. There is a connection existing between you and God. What is it? It is shim jung. Your shim jung is telling you to unite with Heavenly Father and to follow True Parents, while your physical body is pulling you the other way. Just as Cain was supposed to be subjugated through Abel, your body should be subjugated through your shim jung. This is indemnity and restoration. You must pay the fine for your wrong doings.

The ideal world is a place of absolute goodness. We need to physically naturalize evil, cancel it out. You have to do ideal acts because you have done an illicit fallen act. Through Cain uniting with Abel, God can work to restore. Within your heart and mind you know what you need to do, you need to obey.

The reason that Abraham failed was because he forgot to cut the dove in half. He did not separate good and evil. The lamb that he offered represented Jesus, the heifer symbolized a woman. This was symbolic of Jesus and the true woman uniting. The symbol of a woman on the altar was significant, it represents the completed testament with the unity of a true man and woman. Heavenly Father shows His future action through prophets, He will not do things unless it has been revealed.

So Abraham failed because of his failure to cut the bird which represented the separation of good and evil. If you do not separate good and evil, God cannot claim you. He cannot claim unclean things. He cannot claim this world because it is Satan's world. You must separate. You need to cut off from it. Within our lives it cannot just be symbolic.

What is good and evil? Good is accomplished through the original mind obtaining the position of subject. We must be clear in that. You have to reach for the ideal subject/object relationship. I am willing to do what I have to do with gratitude, no complaints and no regrets. But you have to do it also. I will not expect any more or any less from you. I have to prepare. I know what I have to do in the future. You have to know too and prepare yourself. In the future I know I will have to face not just you, but outside people. This does not come automatically, there is a period of growth first. So now I am preparing. I do not use notes when I speak, even though that would be much easier. I am training myself so that these things become natural inside of me.

There is a secular world out there putting emphasis on the physical. It is not the ideal value, but I have to face the enemy and with loving arms embrace them. I will draw them to the ideal destiny, to Heavenly Father, by putting emphasis on the spiritual. Physical things are important too, but they have to remain in the object position.

We are in the process of restoration. I know some of my brothers speak better then I do. They are more eloquent. They can speak faster, much better than I. But because I am in this position I must do this for the sake of restoration. I am not complaining. I have to work twice as hard as people who are gifted, but then I can become as good as they are. We have to prepare for the future, that is why I am saying this. Prepare to meet the future and ultimately to have control over the things that will come.

Listen to your hearts yearning, not your physical yearning or what you picked up along the way. When you were little, all that mattered to you was your parents love. That was all you knew. Little children want nothing else but their mother's and father's love. Everywhere you look in this world though, the emphasis is on physical value. That is what is being stressed. During the growth period, the things you absorb should be ideal. In the fallen world this is not possible. Somewhere along the way children choose to value something other than parental love. Do you value parental love? What are you doing about it? Are you doing anything to unite with your parents?

Within your physical lifetime you must give and take to substantiate life. Until you reach maturity, parents give to you full time. Their life is give, give, give for the sake of the child. They watch you when you walk so you do not fall and when you eat so you do not choke. They give all their attention, love and effort for you. Within your lifetime your receive this kind of love. Now you have to return this. Love is give and take. We need give and take with one another. What kind of give and take? If you have been given something, you have to give back. Do you feel you have given enough? You do not like to hear this do you?

Abraham is a good example because he failed in his symbolic offering. For Heavenly Father to receive something, there has to be a separation. Abraham was like the third generation. He took responsibility for Noah's failure who had taken the responsibility for Adam's failure. Abraham was in the third position, the position of perfection. Through Isaac, the offering was consummated. The reason it was received was because Isaac absolutely united with Abraham. He realized that he was the offering, he understood what was going on. He had the strength to overcome his father if he had wanted to, but he cut off thoughts of his self-ness and united completely. God could accept his heart and offering.

Every week I speak over and over about the same things with the same people, it really bothers me. Somehow Dr. Sook got my pledge that I will visit CARP centers and speak to you during spring break. I wish I could focus 100% on studying the principle more in depth but frankly speaking the only time I have to prepare for this time is right beforehand. Studying is not something I am good at. In order to get good grades you have to memorize a lot of material. With music it is different. Writing and playing music is much easier for me.

As much as you ask from me, I will demand from you, never less and never more. Especially those of you with children, you have to start thinking about their future. Things are changing, we see progress but still this is not the ideal world. I do not want to push my burdens and responsibility on my children.

It does not matter if you had nothing to do with the fall. You are a product of the fall. Out of hundreds of millions of people, you are here. You have the chance to be with Heavenly Father. Give yourself the freedom of choice. I do this every day, especially when I am tired. My body says "Don't get up, you can skip school, at least your first class". But then I give my mind a chance. It says, "Father asked me to go to school, even though I do not like it he wants me to go." So then I can say to myself," Which way are you going to go sucker? Are you going to follow your physical body or your shim jung?" Your shim jung is always pushing you to unite with your parents. Allow those thoughts in your mind. If you truly yearn to become an ideal person you have to do it whether you like it or not. That kind of lifestyle will then become a life pattern. I am always asking you why you only let nasty things become your habits. You can create good habits. If you give enough effort you can achieve even in areas that you do not have natural talents. That is your power to create. It is a special blessing different from any other part of the creation.

You have to unite with your heart, your shim jung. I stress that you should learn tradition, it is important. You do not like tradition. You think that within the ideal world there will be no tradition. What do you want the ideal world to be like? Do you have some particular thoughts? I am sure you do. You must accept the existence of tradition. There is a proper way, right and wrong. People see laws as restriction, as reigns on their lives. Without tradition we will have the same problems as this 'free society', with everyone free to choose their own value. What you value you come to expect. We value God's love, and we expect to receive it. We have to substantiate the right conditions in our life to be able to receive it.

There is a brother who works with me at the Manhattan Center who has a special skill. He is very good at what he does. I asked him to teach it to everybody else, but he has not done it. As long as he keeps that skill to himself it makes him special. That is the same as the outside world's fallen nature.

There is another brother who is always coming to me asking for my thoughts and understanding. He does not realize how hard I am working to come up with these things and he just wants me to easily share with him. I do not mind sharing all my thoughts and knowledge with someone who is working hard. Then it makes me happy. But if he ever forgets his responsibility, then my just giving to him is no good. It will mess up his eternal life.

I have some good news for you. We just finished re-mixing my tape, it sounds even better now. We are printing 3000 copies, but this time you have to pay for it! I already made an offering of 3000 copies that were handed out here and in Japan and we are printing 3000 for Korean members now. There will be money in the ideal world too! Nothings free! You have to work. New copies of my tape will be $12, that is for two tapes. I think it is a good deal! We have almost finished the media facility at the Manhattan Center. We need money, some of you said you wanted to give support. Maybe soon there will be a fund set up that you can donate to. During Easter I will be out fund raising too.

Did you hear that Ronald Reagan is coming to the media conference? He has always wanted to come, but he waited until he was out of office. He is coming with Oliver North. This is a trivial thing in my book. It is a mans fallen nature that he never came before, he was just thinking about his image and reputation while he was in office.

Did you hear that Michael Jackson is coming to Korea? He is going to be the mascot of the World Saegye Times. I think he is prepared, but we will have to see. He had announced that he was going to stop giving concerts and almost immediately after he agreed to do four performances for us. There is something behind this. He is the worlds most popular entertainer.

Let us get serious and start doing something with our lives. You have been giving Satan a chance for a long time, please give Heavenly Father a chance.

During a recent phone conversation with True Parents, Mother talked in great detail of some entertainment that was offered at True Parent's birthday celebration in Korea. She said it was the most impressive and inspiring entertainment. A group of Blessed children from Japan, aged 4-7 years old gave a fifteen minute performance of the Korean play Shin Chun. It was done in Korean. It is a story about a blind mans daughter. One ballet that our company performs is based on the same story. Mother said that we should teach our children Korean well enough that they can perform this kind of play. She spoke for fifteen or twenty minutes about it.

On February 22, a Gala banquet was held in Korea sponsored by the Saegye Times. The three main opposition leaders- the three Kim's, all attended. It was covered by all Korean media, television and other newspapers. It was a big boost for our paper which is one of the newest three daily newspapers to begin in a city that already has eight.

During this time of the Revival tour in America please be very careful. This is a very meaningful project that Rev. Baughman and others have undertaken. Satan will not just sit back and watch it. There have been many incidents during the revivals, cars were broken into, members became ill, etc. Be especially careful driving, and with your homes and children.

Today is a day of recommitting myself to the vows that I made to the True Parents. When you have a child of your own, every interaction with that child is precious and immeasurable. Every moment with your child is always fresh and of such overwhelming intensity. For us to truly rejoice on this day, we must come before True Parents as their true children. We must be grateful for that bonding relationship and the experience of true love that transcends anything man has created. We must understand that the realization of True Parents depends on our ability to become their true children, and that without having True Parents, we can never be true children. As children of these same Parents, we must have a sense of absolute unity. That is the essence of the ideal family.

How many of you come from small towns? Which do you like better: the city or the small town? Many people come to the city because they feel that there's more opportunity to find a better job or to meet people. Basically they leave their small town because they're not satisfied with its lifestyle and social structure. By moving to the big city, they find a multiplicity of social patterns and ethnic backgrounds, providing them with a better chance of choosing the kind of social structure or group they desire.

Why did you come? Most of you who came from small towns obviously liked an atmosphere of more family-oriented closeness than the big city offers. The reason you are in the Unification Church is that you like our kind of lifestyle. It's very important for you to share yourself with others. But many people who leave small towns are confused about their focus in life. Their value does not lie in those kinds of loving relationships, but somewhere else.

The diverse opportunities that exist in large cities make it so difficult to unite people. This kind of pluralistic social structure causes the existence of pluralistic values and ideologies. People belonging to such a society feel they are free to do whatever they want. But people tend to abuse this kind of freedom, creating an absence of the criterion of right and wrong. Only if there are people willing to commit themselves to a purpose greater than themselves can unity occur. If such a purpose becomes an underlying standard, a family spirit will be created.

Are You Living for Others?

What is a true relationship? Often within a relationship when something goes wrong, I hear people say, "You don't love me, but only your concept of what I should become. You're not embracing the kind of Mate qualities I possess." When you stress only your own point of view, you tend to be confronted with such a feeling. If you live only to satisfy your own personal interests, it is very difficult to have true relationships. We cannot avoid living with other people. How can you simply disregard the fact that there are millions of people in this world and put total emphasis on your existence? Such people could only have hypocritical relationships. They would only pretend to care about others -- knowing that their only real concern is their own self-interest. That's exactly what this world is -- a pretentious society! We say that we care for humanity but our daily lives have nothing to do with living for that purpose. Often, we're only trying to make ends meet for ourselves.

Let's say you are walking on a tightrope and you are scared because it's really life-threatening: "If I fall down, I'll die!" You fear it, because you know this is not where you belong. Men are not made to walk on a tightrope, but to walk on the ground. As a fallen man, you desire to go back to the original because that's where you feel safe, that's where you belong. But sometimes only when you are in a life threatening situation, do you really wish for the original world.

As members of the Unification Church, what is our one unifying theme? We want the kind of world where there is no evil, where there is peace, love, and trust; a world where we can go anywhere without fear of losing our life. We want a world where we can look at everybody and believe everyone loves and cares for us as much as we love and care for them.

A True Family System

If you have loving parents and a loving family, you know wherever you go, that you are not alone. Someone loves and cares for you, needs and appreciates you. If you have that kind of security, you feel safe wherever you go. In order to establish such an atmosphere everywhere you go, you need to feel that kind of security within a family and within a social system that has such an underlying value.

Love can embrace this universe. When we become totally enraptured in love, we see everything with eyes of love. All of our senses will be focused with that intense power of love. When you live in love you see the unique traits of everything and find them beautiful. You must have give and take with the kind of love that created this universe. When you understand the principle of love, everything you see is actually your partner of love. Through this awareness you start appreciating the value of things which exist around you.

How many of you are married? Give and take makes you happy within that relationship. Who initiates, the husband or wife? When you come home at night, and you say, "Oh, you look wonderful tonight, even more than yesterday," then the other responds and you get closer and closer. You can substantiate whatever you want. If you expect to live in a world where there is love, you must initiate it. A world abounding in love starts from you and it starts from me.

What if everybody were to say "Somebody else can provide that kind of world. I'll just tag along. Why should I make myself suffer? Let someone else do the job." If everyone becomes that apathetic, the ideal world will just drift away. Can you let that happen? If you truly love your child, could you let him drift away in front of your eyes? As much as you love your children, you have to love this world. As mi.ch as you love your possessions, you have to love Heavenly Father! That's what Father has told us. You have to give yourself for the sake of the whole.

Promote the Whole

Many times Father sacrificed his family for the sake of this world. The first parents failed Heavenly Father by not uniting with His commandment. That commandment will be the basis of constructing the ideal world where everybody can live as one. The existence and unity of the whole is the transcending value of the ideal world. In that kind of ideal society, people will live together as one. Everyone will understand the existence of self, but will consciously promote the whole.

All the unique characters within that society will achieve their true value and experience joy only when they participate in the progress of the whole. For example, I love everybody in this room, so everybody, not just one person, loves me. So this is a kind of ideal society because I have a unifying theme which is telling me that I must live for the sake of the whole. I have that concept -- it is drilled into me. I made the decision to live like that. Everyone must have that kind of desire if we want a world of love.

The failure of Adam and Eve was that they thought only about themselves; they didn't think about God. The first parents were thinking: "Oh, it would be nice to be like God, to have His knowledge. I want to touch it; I want to feel it." They made that clear decision to cross the line by forgetting about God's command. In their ideal, God was excluded.

If some of you were excluded from my ideal, do you think there would be peace? No! I love everyone who lives for the sake of love. It doesn't matter who you are, what color or what gender you are, because the true love value can unite everybody. Heavenly Father's desire is to manifest the ideal world based upon love.

Through the chosen people God is fighting to remove the barriers preventing Him from obtaining His ideal. The communists see the development of history through conflict, but they don't understand the internal cause. They believe that from a primitive communist society, through a slave, feudal, and democratic society, the communist society will ultimately come. But that ideal communist society is a godless society based upon a godless ideology where people are living for the sake of the state and are promised everything in return. The communists say that the state is the body and people are the cells. There is one principle to create a unified society and communism is using that principle without God. Communism wants to take the place of God but that's not going to happen.

Take the Initiative

Look at yourself in retrospect. Remember the fire you had in your heart when you joined. Where is it now? I applaud those who still hold on to that fire. But what about everybody else who has lost that fire? The Principle you heard when you joined never changed. We have come a long way and have made progress. How are you going to face all the saints and sages who have waited thousands of years? How are you going to face Heavenly Father who has waited 6,000 years when you don't even have the courage to wait six, seven or ten years? Yet you expect to receive the love that belongs to Heavenly Father. You are giving so little and in return you want to receive endlessly! Such a person is a thief, who steals because he doesn't want the hardship of working.

Many of you have lost the fighting spirit: "This is enough. I give up!" What is enough? People out there still don't know Principle. Did Heavenly Father give up after six thousand suffering years? We don't even use all the establishments Father has constructed. We're barely maintaining what we have; and what we have, came from the sufferings of people around the world.

If you want the ideal world, you have to get up and work! You have to take the initiative. You have to substantiate true love! Don't let love just dwell in your conceptual realm! Tell yourself: "God has been suffering too long. I want to relieve God of His regrets, His struggle, His suffering and His pain. If I love God and my True Parents, how can I just sit still?"

You're adults and many of you have children. How are you going to set an example for your children? What are you going to say when they grow up and say: "Mommy and Daddy, don't just tell me these things anymore without doing them yourselves." What are you going to say to that? Are you going to blame Heavenly Father and True Parents for giving you this kind of responsibility? Your children are watching and learning every moment. You have to create an ideal environment for your children. Your children are growing up. If you don't do it, your children will bear that burden.

I appeal to America! Through the foundation that Father has prepared, we have to give ourselves and our efforts. Every moment we should be doing something for our cause. Our actions must reflect the ideal intentions of God. We have to find that fire and light it. That is our responsibility if we want to be citizens of the Kingdom of Heaven. Responsibility is not a burden because through it you can obtain God's love. Through our own efforts we have to obtain the ideal comparable to God's ideal. You can think, "I am actually duplicating the creation process. Like Heavenly Father, I am giving my 100% for the sake of love and for the sake of the substantiation of my ideal. Only then do I have the possibility to receive the immense love of Heavenly Father."

All created things basically act only according to their instincts. Mankind, however, is not driven just by instinct; we have the freedom to make choices. Through this freedom we can choose to unite with God, and that is how we can receive God's love. Heavenly Father created mankind with perfection in mind. He didn't intend for man to fall. He had an idea of how this relationship would substantialize. But man has failed to deliver his side of the responsibility. That's why he fell -- it's not God's fault.

True Father's Course

There is only one formula, the Principle. If you are following something other than God's formula, how can you expect to receive what God has? It's impossible! If you want God's love, you have to do God's Will. Why do you think Father is going that course? Nobody's excluded. Everybody must follow that path to reach the ideal world. Make a clear choice and be committed to see it through.

Every day we have to remind ourselves where we belong. We have to say to ourselves: "I belong to the Kingdom of Heaven, I don't belong to this world. This is my house and I have to clean it. As long as our family lives here, this house will stay clean and pure." We go into the secular world and learn about it so that we can know clearly how to win over the enemy. That should be our attitude. We're here to win; we don't have to lose.

How are we going to defeat the enemy? With a love attitude: "I will give every ounce of myself for the sake of love." With that determination we will not break our commitment to God. It doesn't matter if the path is arduous or if we are tortured. That's the attitude of a hero. Even in this world, we praise such a person because he is determined. Only people with such determination and attitude will succeed: "If you push me this much, okay, I'll take it. If you push me a little further, I'll take it. If it comes back stronger every time you push me, I'll be ready; I'll be stronger. Then we'll see who wins because there is only one champion." When you go into a ring, only one winner comes out. God will fight until His ideal is realized. There is only one alternative: to overcome Satan and realize the ideal Kingdom of God. That's why God hasn't faltered or given up: because He's an absolute God. That is the kind of Father we have; therefore that is the kind of children we should be. The only way to win is to accept the pain. This is a war. If I lose, then I will have to give in to Satan and his demands, and that's not what we're all about.

We have to know ourselves. We're here to be responsible for human failures. Through our efforts, we will indemnify all the failures of past humanity. Through our blood, sweat and tears there will be a manifestation of the ideal world in the end. That's how I see it, and that's how you should see it. We must toughen up to embrace and overcome all physical obstacles. I think this way because it's what I learned when I wanted to become the greatest fighter. You have to accept those pains. I totally accept what I have to do; it's not a struggle because I made that choice.

A Heavenly Vanguard

In the past, I had a clear goal in mind: to satisfy myself. I was critical and analytical. Father told me to be responsible for going to school, but I didn't like it. Now it's different; I have to think about God, True Parents and the ideal world.

Now, I'm criticizing and analyzing every step Satan takes. Our intelligence is so that we can build an ideal world. For the intellectual, love appears to be just linear. Actually, love comes in all different sizes and shapes. Through this love, we become transcendental; we experience a spherical or fourth dimension.

What is the meaning of a vanguard? How do you think these changes will come? Just 20 years ago, black people were treated as second class citizens. How do you think they brought about that change? It started from one man's idea and because the time demanded it, that idea was fulfilled. Similarly, people are looking around and realizing that the American system is not working. We have to be the vanguard of idealists who will provide a model and example. Our ultimate goal is to have an ideal world and to find our unified nation. That's what we need to do and we have every means to do it. We truly have to put our words into actions. True love means to love our fellow man. Everybody must be the embodiment of God's ideal, not a hypocrite. God's ideal is a unified world -- one world under God. If you're really this kind of person, you must have a broad enough scope to embrace all the religions of the world. That's what we are all about -- to live for the sake of other human beings -- which is the basis of all religions. Worship God with that thought in mind.

Don't you like to see me smile all the time? Frankly, at times, people expect to see me struggle because that's more realistic. Every responsibility I accept wholeheartedly. If I am frowning or sad, it's because there is still a little piece of me left over; but I can fulfill my responsibility to cut off Satan. Think like that!

Magnify God's Foundation

Let's do it for the sake of love! Let's give everything because that's what we want. I want to walk everywhere and be welcomed by all the people of the world. Father has poured so much effort into preparing this foundation for America and now we have to be responsible. We must multiply and magnify it. That is the intention of God: to magnify His Love. I'm ready, even though it's not going to be easy or automatic, for I have to face a period of growth. That is not easy while living in these harsh surroundings where you literally have to separate good and evil. I wish this was an ideal world where everywhere you looked people would be living the ideal standard. Then, you wouldn't have to search with a magnifying glass for the ideal.

But this world is not like that. It is a war-torn environment. What is ahead of us is not as hard as what Father has faced in his lifetime. We have it easy. We all know what we have to do. We have to move as one family with one goal, united with Father and Mother. That's the only way we can look at each other: as true brothers and sisters. No matter what little problems you might have, digesting them is no problem because you love your father and mother, your brother and sister. We can sacrifice a little of ourselves to unite and become one.

Most of the time when I am with the blessed children, everything that we do is their decision. I follow what they want 75% of the time. If we have a specific thing to do, we do it. But when there is time given to us then I ask them, "What do you want to do?" I follow their intention because I love them.

If we accomplish our responsibility, every moment and every meeting will be a joyous occasion. But many times I have to say strong things because it's necessary. Not everyone is feeling like they should. Until everyone is one I have to do this. We have to truly celebrate this occasion by making one more commitment to do it! You promise me this? Let's make a pledge then.

Today is a very special day. It is a day of judgment, commitment and a chance to re-address the vows that each one of us has made to True Parents.

As children facing parents you do not love according to your own need or your own schedule. When you live with children, every moment, each interaction with your child is valuable and immeasurable. It is an intense relationship. In order for us to truly rejoice this day, we have to face True Parents as true children, transcending every manmade, physical aspiration. To realize True Parenthood, we first have to be true children. Only because True Parents exist, is it possible to become a true child. Because of them we can participate in this life and enriching experience of love.

How many people here come from small towns? Which do you like better, small towns or big cities? Many of you say small towns, but actually many young people like big cities better, why? There are more opportunities in big cities. It is possible to get better jobs and to meet someone new. They are not satisfied with the social patterns of a small town. They do not like the values there so they go looking for something different.When you go to a big city there is a multitude of variety to choose from. Social and ethnic backgrounds are all different. There is a better chance of finding a social pattern or structure that you are comfortable with.

When you come to the city what are you looking for? Some of you said that you like small towns better, with more emphasis on family values, but many times young people are confused. They want to follow millionaires, politicians or people like Ivan Boesky, and that will not work in a small town. They want to break away, look for money, to do what they want.

Because of these opportunities existing in large cities it is difficult to bring people together. There are too many value systems and ideas of what is right and wrong. Americans say that this is a free world and that you can do what you want. They say you have a right to go for it and to make your own decisions. If you want to put emphasis on becoming powerful or making a million dollars, that is your right and your choice. With this thinking there is no criteria for making judgements between what is right and what is false. Anything is okay. A society based on that kind of 'freedom' will be difficult to unite and bring together.

So many times I have heard people say in times of difficulty, "You do not love me, but rather, you love some kind of concept within yourself of what you want me to become. You are not embracing the innate quality that I have, just something that you want out of me". I hear that argument often in a relationship. When you argue like that, emphasizing your own point of view, you will tend to get pushed into confrontation.

[At this point noise from children in the back of the room became distracting. Hyo Jin Nim spoke some words in Korean and asked the parents with crying babies to leave the room] You have to create an atmosphere here! You have to participate too! The preparation you make is very important.

In the society I was describing everybody is left to do whatever they want, as long as they do not hurt anyone. Basically you live to serve your own interests. As long as you do not take advantage of others, anything is possible. With this understanding, it is very difficult to have a true relationship. You would be a hypocrite. As men and women, we cannot avoid living with other people. How can you disregard that fact? If your value system puts total emphasis on yourself then principled relationships will be impossible, they would all be hypocritical. We would all be pretenders

because in our deepest conscience we would only be looking out for ourselves. That is a pretentious society. People say that they care for humanity, but in their daily lives they do not do anything about it. They are working their butts off to support themselves even way beyond their needs, or even the capacity to enjoy. Belonging to this kind of society people cannot live together in harmony.

We all dream of a world where there is no chaos, only peace and harmony. Even the most totally selfish people want this kind of society inside their mind, but what they actually do and live is far from this. Why do we call ourselves the Unification Church? What is your desire? A good world, with no one trying to corrupt you, or take advantage of you. A world where you can go anywhere without worrying about losing your life. No emotional strife, no dark fear, being able to go anywhere knowing people love each other.

What if you are driving down a dark highway and run out of gas? Let's say I am a big shot executive, a CEO, and that is what happens to me. This area is crawling with criminals and crack houses. In my office, I am in my realm. I can say, "You live for me, do what I say, follow my rules". But now . . . on a dark highway, sitting pitifully in my gold- plated Mercedes Benz, I am wishing I was back in my office! Even police do not want to help those kind of people!

As fallen man we long to go back to the origin, we feel that it is where we belong. Fallen man is walking a tightrope, but it is not natural, it is scary up here! We desire to go back down to the ground where we belong. Only when we fall into a hole, for example, a dangerous situation, do we really start valuing what is real, like loving others and those who love me. If you have a loving father, then you never feel alone. You know that somewhere there is someone who loves you. That is very secure, you can feel safe. What do we need for that security everywhere we go? There must be an underlying feeling to substantiate it. You feel that security within a family. So even in the city with many different values there has to be this unifying theme.

Not everyone can write poetry, sing songs, or speak well but everyone has a special quality, something that they are good at. Especially in high school teenagers like to cling together. They find some group they can associate with and then cling to them. Many times in this world emphasis is placed on external things, physical things matter a great deal. In love all different physical attributes can be embraced, even the entire universe. When one is enraptured in love everything will be seen with that love. When you live in love you see a unique quality in everyone. Everything has beauty because you see it from the point of view of love. In order to experience this love, you need someone to have give and take with. When you understand the purpose of love you see your purpose is everything, so you can have give and take. Everything is there so you can experience love. You appreciate the value of things that exist around you.

How many of you are married? When you are loved by your wife, what makes you feel good? Why did you get married? Why do man and woman come together? We are longing for something. What makes you happy? Who initiates love, you or your wife?[ A few brothers answered the man does. Hyo Jin Nim is laughing and asks] You mean you wives never initiate love? What do you do, stand on opposite sides of the room and run towards the middle and hope you will meet there? Husbands, when you go home you have to say something like, "Honey you look so beautiful today. You were beautiful yesterday but you are even more beautiful today. Your eyes are like sparkling stars in the sky, your cheeks are as soft as a babies butt." You have to say things like that to each other!

Someone has to start, and then there has to be give and take. The more give and take you have, the more chance you have of excelling relationships where there is little or no give and take. So if I want it and no one else is doing it, I have to initiate give and take. You can substantiate anything you want in this world of freedom. If you want the kind of world where there is love everywhere you have to start it. That kind of world can come from my hands. It is no good to say, " I will tag along after someone else starts". Are you thinking, Why do I need to suffer, let some one else do the job?" What would happen if that thinking becomes an epidemic? If our child is in danger, we take action. What about this world? As much as you love your things, you have to love Heavenly Father. That is what Father has told us. Give yourself for the sake of the whole. Many times Father sacrifices his family for this world. You know that. I do not have to say it again. You know Father has walked that course.

The answer is True Parents. The first parents failed to unite with Heavenly Father. They failed in their commitment which was to be the basis for constructing an ideal world where everybody can live as one. Conscientious ideal citizens will promote themselves to become one of the whole, to unite as one. There is an underlying, transcending theme of unity of the whole. It does not matter if you are talented in music, poetry or science, everyone in society has this underlying value. Within that society joy will come. Because I have given to the whole, what I have given will come back.

I made a choice of living for the whole. I drilled it into myself. I made the decision to come here and speak to you. I decided. That is the value that everyone has to have. The failure of Adam and Eve is that they were thinking of themselves. At the moment of the fall, they did not think of God, but themselves. They made the decision to cross the line, to go against God and follow their own desire. God was excluded from that relationship.

Would you be happy if I just liked a particular group of people? I love everyone who lives for the sake of love. It does not matter what color or gender you are. That value will serve God's purpose, you cannot bring the ideal without it. The ideal will not come where there is a division of values.

It seems that history has developed from conflict. Communists say that through struggle mankind is progressing. If you look only at the external results it is easy to believe this way, but you have to look at the cause. Heavenly Father is waiting for the right time to manifest his ideal. With the chosen people he is battling the barriers. Even the communists say, "You have to live for the state, then everything will be given to you. The state is like the body, you are like the cell." Communists are using the Unification principle without God. That is what Satan is doing.

Look at yourself in retrospect, do you still have the fire you did when you first joined? I am glad for those who do. What about everyone else, what happened? The principle has not changed, the same truth is still here. We have made progress, we have come a long way. How can you sit there and be lame? How will you face the saints and sages who have been waiting for thousands of years? You cannot even wait five, six or ten years! You give little, expecting a lot. You are stealing because you do not want the hardship of working. Do something for the sake of the ideal world, substantiate something, do not just let it remain in the conceptual realm.

I want to relieve God of His regrets, struggle and pain. If you love your Father as much as you love your own flesh and blood, we have to do something about it. How else are you going to set an example for your children? What will happen if one day they say to you, "Mommy and Daddy, do not tell me to do these things because you never do anything."? Are you going to blame God for giving you bad children? That is not the example to set. They are looking at you, they are learning from you. Why do you think I do this, because I am special? No, I want the ideal family! I love Father and am indebted to him. Where is your faith? Many of you have lost it. How can you say this is enough? People still do not know the principle, they are still searching and we do not know enough to use all the establishments that Father has constructed. Why can't we have The Washington Times in every state? No money? We have this idea but no substance. We do not put the idea into action. We just barely maintain what we have. The Korean GNP was less than $1000. People lived on $90 a month. With that we still provided funds to build The Washington Times and many institutes. If you cannot bring result, your children will bear your burden. Who of you says "I am going to take it easy and let my children do it"? I appeal to America through the foundation that Father has prepared. What is left is our action. We need to make effort, every moment you have you should be doing something for our cause, something united with Heavenly Fathers will. Our actions must reflect the ideal intentions of God, you have to do that. Responsibility is not a burden because through it you can obtain God. Through your own effort you have to obtain the ideal which is reciprocating with God. That is the only way to give and take upon His love. With your own effort you are creating the ideals of God, duplicating the creation process. I am giving 100% for the sake of love and ideal substantiation, like God at the time of creation. When I do that I can receive the deep, immediate love of Heavenly Father. All other animals in nature run driven only by instinct, but we have the freedom to make choices. Through this freedom we are actively choosing to unite with God. That is why we can receive His love. Can you give up and still expect to receive His love? If you do something other than what God is doing you cannot expect to receive His love. Men and women can fall, but they can also make the decision to follow God. Man has failed to deliver his end of responsibility. You have to make that decision. No one is excluded. Everybody must follow this path to reach the ideal. Make a clear choice and then be committed until you see it through. Every day you have to remind yourself where you belong. "I belong to the Kingdom of Heaven, not this world. I have to clean up this world that has become full of garbage. Many people have a cold, they cannot smell the garbage of this world, many people are blind, they cannot see that if they keep going like they are they will hurt themselves. I will be their eyes, ears and nose. My house will stay clean forever, I will let no garbage in to dirty it."

How are we going to defeat the enemy? Only with love. With that attitude I will face the enemy. No matter how arduous it is or what torture I face, I will not break this promise. This world will praise those people who stick it out to the end. When you go into the ring, only one winner comes out. That is the kind of Father we have, and it is the kind of children we should be. When you accept that, you begin to enjoy the pain in challenging this kind of life. That is the only way to become better. We are here to take responsibility for man's failure. Through our effort and blood, sweat and tears there will be a manifestation of God's ideal world.

I am appreciating everything, do you think that is easy for me? You have to accept it. I totally accept what I have to do, I made the choice. I was always trying to analyze everything Father told me to do. I hated it, I tried to justify my way out of it. My goal, my clear intention was to satisfy myself. I hated going to school. I like music and exercise. But now it is different. I have to think about God, about True Parents and about the ideal world. Now my ability to analyze has shifted-all towards Satan. I analyze every step that Satan takes. We have the intelligence to build the ideal world.

This is not the end, the Unification Church is not the goal. The ideal world is my goal. We have to create a unified nation, living and giving myself absolutely for the sake of the whole. The American system is the best we have and it is failing in so many directions. We need something better. How do you think changes come? Just twenty years ago blacks were considered second class. How did change come about? One man with an idea. Time demanded it and the idea was fulfilled. Now it is time, people know the American system is not working. We can provide a voice for the future. We have the means to do that.

We are not here as demagogues to appeal to a secular minority. We truly put our words into action to love our fellow man. We cannot be hypocrites or pretenders, but we should embody God's ideal--one unified world. We have to show evidence. You should keep going until the world is one. Show these things through our deeds, that is the only way. To live for the sake of something greater than yourself is the basis of all religion. That is the intention when an individual worships God.

If I cut off God in the past, I can sure cut off Satan. I can cut off Satan totally, that is much more realistic. Let's do it for the sake of love. We have to multiply and magnify all the effort that Father has put into America. Father's intention is to magnify the love of God more and more. I want to make this love bigger. It is not easy. I have to face a period of growth. We have to separate ourselves from Satan, from living in this world every day. We should be able to live free, but realistically life is separating from Satan every day. Realistically our mission is not as hard as what Father has faced. We have it much easier. Be patient, it is coming, things are changing but it takes time. Success does not come overnight. Success does not come like winning the lottery, that is dangerous thinking. Even getting a PhD. you have to suffer.

You know what you have to do, right? Why? For the sake of love. Receive parents, then you can be a true sister or brother. Small problems do not matter. With love we can sacrificially overlook things. Love each other.

Today I would like to talk about the goals of the Unification Church. At some point all of you have felt sorrow and grief. The reason varies between individuals. You have a reason though. If a person you love passes away, you feel your love has departed. There is a separation, therefore you feel sad. If you separate from the things that you value then you feel sad and sorrowful.

Mankind's history is based on sorrow, searching and yearning for something greater and higher. As religious people believing in life after death, we can transcend this. We have spirits, we will dwell in spirit world, where ultimately we will be re-united. As religious people we have these assurances for ultimate unity in the spirit world. Secular people do not have this. They believe that they will never see this person, their loved one again. They feel they have lost something forever. The basis of our sorrow is that our desire to unite with the object of our love will never come about. If anyone in this room feels sorrow, ask yourself why. We have to address this before we look at our goal. How can we pursue a goal if we feel like we are lacking something? We need a substantial foundation to stand on in order to pursue a goal. A goal cannot be based on wishful thinking, you need substantial resources.

As a Unification Church member looking forward at the future, we have to look at ourselves first. Do you still feel you are lacking qualifications? The Principle teaches us about relationship with Heavenly Father. What is your ideal? Is it something other than to unite with Heavenly Father? I do not think so. If that is true then what else is there to make you feel stress or that you lack something?

The individual must come to be worthy to participate as part of the body of the Unification Church. We have to embody the goals that the entire church is pursuing. How should we think? Long for unification. All of us should be totally enraptured in longing for unification, this can be a shield against Satan. Be solidified in this. Satan is the master and king of division and separation. The only way to fight his tactic is to unite. Heavenly Father has tried so hard to unite people with His ideal, but Satan has opposed this and has been fighting against the movement of unification. We must long for unification, reflecting it in our daily lives. As an individual day by day taking care of daily chores, have this thought in your mind at all times.

How do your mind and body unite? This is the first place to focus. If your mind sets a direction, your body must be willing to follow it. You know that fornication and stealing are not right, but what if in the moment, out of hunger your body pushes you to steal some food, something that your mind does not allow? You must suppress this unrighteous feeling. You have to be willing to be subjugated by what is right.

Is unity based on individual initiative and desire? Or on how we can be physically assessed? I do not think so. Unification is based upon love. Love puts emphasis on the whole and every individual. Everyone within the realm of love must participate, it takes everyone's effort. That is living for the sake of something greater than yourself. Everybody must follow this way with no discrimination. It is the only way that we can unite as one. We need this one idea. If your mind has two, three or four ideas your body, your life are lost. An example is if you want to become five or six different things in your lifetime. That is very difficult to do. Can you really become accomplished in those things or would you be like a jack of all trades with no real focus? You have to ask yourself, are all those different things right? Are they all valuable in Heavenly Fathers eyes or only according to my desires and perception? One man alone cannot build the ideal. Realistically, we are faced with uniting the rest of humanity. This is a great task. First of all, how can we unite all religions? In what way can it be done? We must show an example ourselves, show our true character. So we have to know what that is. First, it is the personification of truth. Second, show the true meaning of religion, substantially, with action. We have to teach others what true life means and the right way to approach things. Show these things and embody them, not just once in our lifetime, but continually.

Many people want to become one with God, that is their goal. Buddhists want to become one with Buddha, Muslims want to be one with Allah. They all want to reach Nirvana, the realm of joy and happiness. Religion has guaranteed this, saying that if you unite with God, you will find eternal life, joy and happiness. That is why no matter how hard this life is we can keep going and continue to sacrifice, to become one with this God.

Think about it- how are we going to embrace and absorb Christianity? Giving and sacrificing is their doctrine. They teach living for the sake of others, benevolence and forgiveness, believing that each man has the right to go to Heavenly Father. But humanity is suffering. Christians have tried to live for the sake of a suffering humanity, but today how do Christians perform? Through leaders who are following Christian doctrine? No. Literally all the charity they have comes from you. [Hyo Jin Nim spoke of today's Christian leaders who appear on television asking for donations.] We cannot depend on donations, we have to be willing to do more ourselves. We have to set an example and be willing to go to the extreme to serve mankind. Forget totally the things that you treasure or take pride in. Give yourself totally, then you can absorb Christianity completely, because their doctrine says so!

Be extremely embracing, loving those you hate. Is that easy to do? You must absolutely deny yourself to do that. If you have such a strong hate that it makes you crazy each time you see this person, you have to deny it, erase it, transcend the moment and see him through eyes of love. Look at him with spiritual eyes, it is the only way to overcome bad feelings. There is no easy way out.We cannot base the salvation of the world on television appearances and using the television to ask for money.

Take this task on yourself. Make it "my responsibility". You have to take initiative. You cannot say that you need something else to depend on. You can think that I will build a factory to produce food to feed people if they are hungry. I will educate them if they cannot read. We have to be willing to do that. With that example we can change history. Do not ask for donations. Father never asked for handouts, he did everything himself by his own effort. Through our action we will absorb and digest Christianity. Our ideal must be reflected in our lives. The only way we can save the United States and humanity is to live for something other than yourself. No matter how hard it is, we must be willing to do anything for the sake of God's dispensation and love.

Be willing to unite. Unity is important but depends on who we unite with. Through unity we can absorb even communism. Communists have an ideal of reaching the perfect society. Within this communism everyone will live for the state and all the individuals needs will be provided by the state. There will be no conflict or class struggle. The understanding they lack though is the reality of man having a God given character and inequality. They stress physical equality but that is impossible. Some people are gifted with musical talent, some are more analytical, some can make money easily, people are not the same and their needs will not all be fulfilled in the same ways. Communism stresses external oneness without accepting that people have equality only through their God given traits. In a democracy we see that people put too much emphasis on individuality with no vision of the whole. Both points of view are lacking something.

The point of unity is basing priority and importance on heavens standard of love, embracing all different physical entities. The ideal is determined by God not by you. Communism lacks an understanding of wholeness or ideal quality. This was Satan's problem. Satan as the archangel had a specific place in the Kingdom of Heaven. It was to serve Adam and Eve, but he denied this special quality and position given to him by Heavenly Father. He wants to create a similar structure, a system of order based on himself.

If the ideal is a world based upon parent and family, we can make a religion of a global family. Is relationship based on physically imposing the power of authority? What is the power that fuels relationship within a family? The love of parents, who live for the sake of their children. By living this way parents receive joy. The child feels, I can do whatever my parents say, because they love me. I can trust them, I can follow them because they only want to help me. That is what a family should be- trusting each other. Believe in this idea of a family oriented global system, where leaders truly care about people and take care of the people they are responsible for. If everyone in that religion believes that and lives that, there is unification on a global level.

Look at each other in this way, as a family. Lead as an embodiment of your belief. We cannot be people who say one thing and do another. Our concept and action must be the same. That will be an ideal man, body following mind, united with Gods heart. We have to know this. Become an embodiment of Fathers words, longing for unification. The ideal must be shown substantially in our lives.

The reason that Father is preparing all these things is because he will be responsible for the future world. We must inherit this attitude. I will do that. I will take initiative and responsibility. If more people can do that, great things will happen. Do not wish for someone else to do it. To bring result and victory "I " have to do it. We need that attitude.

The Unification Church must unite. On that foundation we can unite America, truly make it the united states. Then on that foundation we can unite the world, but it all starts from me and my responsibility. We cannot sit still! We cannot sit and watch evil going on in front of our eyes just watching it happen. Even wolves live their lives for the sake of their pups. How can we have dominion over such creatures if our example is less than that?

Become an embodiment of your ideal self, it is the only way to separate from Satan. As a creator, God has suffered for 6,000 years. Think about that. You can do what you want, but He has to continue. Why? For the sake of ideal love. Love where there will be no grief and sorrow. We are grieving because we lost the ideal, because man failed to unite with God. Heavenly Father's ideal and your ideal must coincide and become the same. That is why He gave us the commandment- to bring about the ideal guaranteeing joy and happiness with overwhelming emotion. We need a basis for give and take. That is why God needs a complimentary object to bear the responsibility for reciprocating with Him. We need dominion over our ideal. Understand our internal goals. In order to gain dominion over creation, you have to become like the creator. Can a monkey have this dominion? No, only man can think like that. We have all the means to have dominion of creation, but we must have dominion over ourselves, longing for unity with God first. Let these things show in your work and actions.

How many are studying Korean? My English is getting better! I only speak it at school, when I come home I speak Korean. If you want to learn Korean, make effort to speak it all the time. It is more difficult than learning how to ride a bike, you have to make more effort. We have to show we want to unite with True Parents in mind and body. We need to make this effort to understand Fathers words.

Every time I am about to finish talking, something inside says I should not stop! [ Brothers and sisters cheered to push him on.] But people sitting in the back want to go home!

I sincerely want everyone to become like children to True Father. Let me tell you my view of the True Children. I absolutely believe I should completely entrust everything to my parents. Everything my parents give to me is for the sake of love. Honestly, sincerely believe this. It is not automatic or easy to do so. You have to invest yourself for the sake of the relationship. Just like Father trusted me all these years, that one day I would come through. With that intensity and all that I love, I have to give back what he has given me. This is not a burden, but I want to do this with gratitude for the sake of love.

Every day is a struggle living like this. Each day is filled with conflict. No matter how much I do, more is demanded of me. I have to have a big heart to unite and not to separate or think of myself. God has never complained, but took responsibility to restore mankind. His desire is a yearning for man to come back to the origin. For that sake He is sacrificing everything of Himself. You have to be willing to return this because it is the model God and True Parents have set.

Many of you think very humanistically. With your own references you assess heavens perspective. In the future you will not do this. True love defies everything, it embraces everything. If you love God no matter where you are, that longing for love must exist. Do you want to bring results? [Yes!] Then how long do you want to take? Do not put emphasis on physical force. The goal is not to sacrifice physical things. The goal is to bring people back to God. Time is crucial, you have limited time, but there is much to accomplish. This means you must move and take action. How many of you have lived according to Fathers model? Are you a tribal messiah? By your efforts how many of your spiritual children have established a national foundation? You have not done anything and yet at times you compare yourself to Father.

The time has come to unite North and South Korea. Blessed families must restore Cain and Abel problems. Restore elder and younger positions, then you can build a tribal tradition. The whole process of restoration is to change and indemnify the historical failures of man. Centered on True Parents, a True Family came about. To establish an ideal nation, there needs to be unity between True Family and the restored family. It might seem out of reach to some of you at the moment, but there has to be a manifestation of Heavenly Fathers presence and love in this physical world. Everyone has responsibility, even True Children, always keep that in mind. You have to make the choice to get rid of self centered thinking. No one is telling you to become a clone of someone else. You are the fruit of Heavenly Fathers labor.

The ideal nation must consist of all the people of the world, it will be an ideal model for the world. Through the 1200 couples Blessing, the preparation for the coming ideal nation was made. You are the product of Fathers providential effort. That unity must come within this blessing, an ideal foundation to represent an ideal nation. Gods grace comes through True Parents in this process. If you have God in your life, your destiny is clear. Without God you will never reach your destiny, period. Only with God can you find the ideal. When you reach this destiny, eternal joy and happiness will be there waiting for you.

Understand the meaning of the Blessing. Be responsible to set the best example for the second generation. The first generation and True Family have to work together to do this. Our unity is very important. Become absolutely one with each other , do your best to carry out your responsibility. It is getting bigger all the time, but you cannot complain. You have to be grateful and see the value of your effort. You have to believe in your worth and think that "My efforts make things change." Sisters too, set an example of the ideal woman. You have the capacity to do much more, to give more than what those people out there have. We are winners, believe in Heavenly Fathers power and ability. If you believe, all His power and capabilities can flow through you! 

Longing for an Ideal

I'm sure that those of you who are Blessed and have families are concerned and thinking what can I leave to my family? Before we talk about a providential level of restoration, we have to face this question on the personal level. I am sure that you have given it deep thought. You want to leave something for your children greater than just personal joy and achievement. In this world many people do not even believe in having families nor do they see the significance of it. So for us this is a great challenge this is the task we face.

If something is given on this earth, there is a force of life contained within it. We must start with a seed, but we need some content to follow to bring about the ideal, so let's discuss this today.

Historically, mankind longed for an ideal all throughout time. Even now people are not satisfied with what they have, but are longing for more. Why do they feel that way? Because man fell from grace and departed from Heavenly Fathers ideal. Man was to fulfill God's ideal. There should have been an inseparable bond, that kind of relationship with God. So fallen mankind still longs for this, a return to the ideal. No matter what we have we will always lack something inside unless we realize that God is alive and we believe in a substantial relationship with Him. Our longing and searching ends from that moment. We need to ask ourselves, "Am I still longing and searching?" If we are it means that we have nothing to give to our children.

Throughout history man has betrayed God and has taken Gods name in vain. Atheism exists as well as many other Godless-isms, but Heavenly Father has never changed. His desire to save mankind has never changed. We believe that perfection is a feeling of being almost machine-like, automated, with no life. That is our predominant thinking. Through history man has cursed God, but God never gave up loving mankind. There was never even one moment of hesitation on His part. He has invested everything, that is the example of a truly perfected being.

In order for you to give something to your children- the only way that they will not wander is if they see their parents living that same way. That is the only way to set them free. If you do not measure up to the standard of God, you cannot succeed. The love you feel for your children will last forever, it will never go away. From the first moment you hold your child until the time it dies and goes back to the earth, your love for it will never end.

The first thing we have to do is to know ourselves. We have to believe that we have inherited the historical failures. We must believe in Heavenly Fathers heart of love and restoration, that Heavenly Father is trying to save mankind and bring us back to the origin. You already know how this can be accomplished. God alone cannot accomplish this, but you man and woman can bring God's ideal to fruition. We have inherited this responsibility because it has gone on unfulfilled. We need to have the love and consciousness to take responsibility. We need to say " I will not leave this burden to my children, but I will take on this great task." That is the only way to bring about the ideal of True Father.

If 1,000 people in the New York area gave just one hour a week to the church that would be 52,000 hours a year, or if each one gave ten hours a week, that is 520,000 man hours in one year! You might say that we lack power or time, but in Heavenly Father's eyes that is not true. You are being irresponsible. Your responsibility is to bring an end to this suffering. We must restore America, Korea, Japan and the world. You have to take initiative, just as Father has done all throughout his life. That is why Father is here, you believe in that.

People in the past sacrificed everything looking for the truth and for an ideal, but we are the ones who are here. We say we have found the truth, that this is the truth. Our longing and searching ends here! You must give! Once you have something you must give!

What does principle tell you? How does give and take work? Did you really think about that? If you believe you have found something, then give back for the sake of true love. You have not been giving, that's why nothing is happening. You are still selfish, struggling within yourself. Time will not wait for you to grow up. We must meet heaven's timetable! Do not expect God to wait for you, that is putting your dominion over God! I am saying this very strongly, but take my word, you must know this.

Why did Father and Mother bless you? So you can settle down with your family and claim your place in this world? We want to cleanse this world of all satanic thoughts and culture. We are here to bring the realization of the Heavenly Kingdom on this earth, but we have not reached that point yet. Father has a providential viewpoint, he has laid the global foundation. He made the global foundation with his own hands because man failed to receive the True Parents. His entire historical foundation that had been won with so much effort went "poof", it vanished, because the crucial, key players, mankind, failed to realize what heaven was saying to them.

Father has succeeded. Father has succeeded in taking responsibility for our failures. How does individual perfection come about? Centering on Heavenly Father your mind and body must unite and become one. That perfected being (a man) grows to unite with a woman, and then what do you have? Children. A substantiation of your love. They are crawling, walking, living love. How do you expect to bring an ideal nation and tribe? Why is the second generation so important? They are the product of love. What is the Blessing? It is grafting onto True Parents root, separating from Satan's lineage. The second generation is a purified version of you, your purified lineage. Then those purified children from all walks of life will unite that will establish the ideal tribe. Based upon that the ideal nation comes about.

All the people blessed this time symbolize the second generation. That blessing was made upon recognition of a symbolic foundation. On that foundation Father blessed the seventy two couples who represent the purified tribe. They are the fruit of our labor, the first generation. You cannot establish the national foundation without preparing the tribal level and the family level first. You must go step by step, this is a process.

People from all over the world have come and received the blessing and love from True Parents. Some of the first generation have sacrificed for them. After the blessing of 6,000 couples Father said this is the time for tribal messiahship. How can you do that without following the true model? Is 99% good enough to give? No! Father wants you to follow principle. We have already told him many times that we understand, that he does not need to tell us anymore.

Do not blame God and True Parents. You haven't even really tried living this way yet and still you blame someone. You just sit there and criticize with no real idea of what is happening, is that the attitude of a rational person? If any of you have complained in the past this is what you have been doing. Look at yourself first. Ask yourself "Am I a true person, can I criticize?" God is a true being. He went first. Mankind betrayed Him and cursed Him, but He went His course, taking in all the hardship, pain and tears. That is your model, nothing else.

My models are Heavenly Father and True Parents. If you want to be an individual, then be that kind of individual. My model does not exist in Hollywood, or in the American government or in the history books. You do not even know who you follow or embody. How do you expect to change the environment of America or even your own household?

Every day you are confused. You think, "Who am I? What am I trying to become?" On a good day God is your model and then the next day when things are sour you choose some millionaire to be your model. You are weak, your model is determined by some outside influence. Get influenced by Heavenly Father and True Parents. Come to grips, have control over your own life. You must know what you are doing and why. You are here to bring an end to the historical suffering of God. We want to be an origin, our settlement lies in the original dwelling of God, not here in this world. That is where we belong, in a living, active relationship with God.

We do not want to live in uncertainty anymore. That is the necessity of a relationship with God, that is what we long for. Do you see that about yourself? Why not? Let it start from here. Be inspired by each other. When you look at True Parents you are inspired so why not be inspired with each other? If you fulfill with True Parents you would feel that, but so far you have not given enough commitment and devotion.

Stand up, take charge, take control over your own life. Subjugate Satan, do not be subjugated by Satan. The most precious thing that we can give to our children is to become the embodiment of true love. The most precious thing is to live for the sake of something greater than yourself, having the heart to embrace others. See everyone as connected to yourself. If a part of you, like your little finger was rotting, would you just let it happen? How about if someone is struggling, have you paid attention? Just as you pay attention to your body, see this family as your heavenly body.

I might be hard on you, but that is because I am trying to help you. When you get sick you call the doctor. Even if you do not like the medicine, you have to take it. Sometimes you even need to get stuck with a big needle.

The one thing, the only thing, the absolute thing to leave our children is to follow the model of Heavenly Father. When people reach a certain age they should have some kind of control over their lives. Feel that from now. You should think,"I understand Father's heart and what he wants to give. I know the content and meaning of True Parents. I am ready and prepared to receive, I am worthy to receive. I know what is right and wrong. I must be a good person because the ideal world is a good world." It is not a co-existence of good and evil. You must know what is good. You are old enough to know. When you know what is right then you have to do it. Do not expect to be dragged around by elders for the rest of your life, that shows you do not believe in responsibility.

Father has raised many members. There are many people who can do a lot. They can come here and speak, they could speak better and with more eloquence than I do.

No matter how hard it is for you, you have to do it. That message has to be drilled in. Someone has to yell at you, that is okay, I will do it. This is for you and for America. You take charge, have a sense of ownership. Think that "This world belongs to me, not Satan! I will make it a better place." What you do matters. As a whole it matters. Every day thousands of cells die in your body, use them for the purpose of good. Your sacrifice will mean something for the whole. It matters!

Say for example that when you go to the bathroom and wash your hands you use a paper towel that costs two cents. One is enough, but you decide you want to use two or three towels. If everyone in America did this, if all 250 million people wasted two towels, how much money would be wasted? Multiply this by the average number of times that you go to the bathroom each day, that adds up to a lot of money. You can see that each persons actions can make a big difference to the whole.

The ideal world is based on family. Think of the world as a family, visualize it this way, as a whole. When you waste one cent there goes 50 million. Think like that. If I waste ten minutes, think of how many hours, or how many days it would be for everyone to do that. Think like that, then everything you do will matter. Have this sense of responsibility. " I have the right to own true love. No other creature has this, but I have it!" Use it!

What if you really wanted a motorcycle. You went out and got a job and saved all your money until finally, you had enough to buy this motorcycle. Would you leave it out in the road to get stolen or forget to take care of it? No, you would sleep with it wouldn't you? You would cherish that thing which you had put so much effort into. You do not have this sense of ownership. There is nothing in creation that can receive what you can receive. Father has forgiven you so do not repeat your failure again.

We have the power to set issues. What is important is who is going to take charge. Are you going to give it to someone else? We need enough people to take charge of all of our institutions. Father needs you to become like that. The first generation must fulfill their responsibility. Until Father passes the baton to the True Children, you must totally unite with True Parents. You must be responsible, that is why I am here. I want to assist and serve True Parents. It is not my time yet, I am still preparing for the day. If you make up your mind to do your responsibility, your lives can become trouble-free and worry-free.

I can forgive you, but it is not easy for me with my character. If you make taking responsibility a trend then all the blessed children can follow. My power is limited, I cannot subjugate your mind, you have to make your own decisions. Our position is crucial to influence the second generation. If your children have to go through what I did they will find it difficult to forgive you. Live for the sake of the whole, this is serious. You belong in the realm of true love, no where else is safe for us. Eternal security, joy and happiness can only be found there.

Have you tried? Lets try again. Take initiative. These are serious times, but also joyful because now we understand. We know who we are, we know our value and we have a sense of our direction. Because we know, now we can give. Even in the smallest way, this can reflect in the whole. It has to start. Have some pride because it is starting from us, no other religion has these concerns.

We must take responsibility for the salvation of mankind, not neglecting them. We can say to other people that even if you do not understand I will take responsibility now, until you can too. I even want to forgive Satan because Jesus on the cross forgave his enemies. That is the real Christian spirit. We have to love the people who deny that, even homosexuals. People from other churches say "If you do not believe what I do, then you will go to hell and burn there forever!" Do not carry on that wrong kind of tradition. Sometimes we did that in the past by not caring for people who would not follow the way we wanted them to. Know how to make love uplift. Bring life into a relationship with God.

When you were little your father might have told you not to do something. Then you did it and he caught you and asked you why. Maybe you said the bogeyman did it. Blaming the bogeyman will not work anymore. We are old enough to understand.

You should know what eternal joy tastes like. Bring life into your relationship with Heavenly Father. Know how to make this eternal relationship work. We go through three stages, so we do not know this eternal true love in the beginning, but we must start to initiate it. When you look at a seed can you see the flower? No, not yet. But you know it will come with time.

Father has spent one quarter of his life preparing this foundation for us. The majority of influence in our lives has come from outside. You have to repent!

Always think big. Think clearly, everything will have focus. Truly love your wife and love your husband.[ He asks the brothers "Do you truly love your wife?"] Why is your answer so weak? Not everyone grew up in an ideal circumstance, but still the potential is there. After you grow to mature love, that full potential can be realized in spirit world. Physical beauty that we could not enjoy in this life because of an accident, or because of no money for good nutrition and health care, do not matter when we see through the eyes of true love. You cannot just say I will raise my child right. First you must prepare yourself to receive a heavenly child. You can think after I receive him I will raise him right.

Responsibility is not automatic. You think blessing is automatic. Anyone who thinks like that is crazy. Do not live with that stupid idea. Prepare yourself to receive a heavenly child. Father has said that many times, but we still have not done that.

Father has created the foundation, it is up to us to bring about the realization of the ideal world. Everything True Parents do is for the sake of the whole. We must build this ideal world. When the foundation is ready, if there is a shortage of people, what are we going to do? Our physical resources and outreach are limited, but once we bring about global mobilization things will change. Be prepared, if you are not prepared, blessing will not come to you. You must set principled conditions to receive. Blessing will go to the ones who can receive it, there must be reciprocation. Love will not exist within you if you cannot give it back. If you are not a representative of true love, do not expect to receive it.

Please set an example to your children . Our model is True Parents. Now we know, that is what True Parents are all about. Our searchings have ended, we know who we are, we know what we have to do.

How many of you just returned from Korea? Maybe some of you would like to share some of your experience there. (Three brothers and sisters share some testimony).

Do you feel happy about the Blessing? It is very important for us, right? I'd like to share about the depth and meaning of the Blessing as much as I can.

Heavenly Fathers ideal was to have Adam and Eve absolutely united with Him. Based on that and true love, Heavenly Father would expand His love. The reason that man was created was to fulfill God's ideal of true love. He needed an object, someone for give and take. The ideal of love comes from give and take between two beings, a subject and an object, it can't happen with just one person. Based on this give and take the ideal would have been realized, but God's desire to substantiate this ideal was not completed because of mans failure. Throughout history, all indemnity has centered upon restoring the ideal relationship between God and man, back to the original intention of God. Man had a responsibility, it could not be fulfilled automatically. Man had to participate in this making of God's ideal. In order to receive from Heavenly Father, the object has to have the quality of love which God wants to have give and take with, otherwise there is no reciprocation between God and man on the ideals of love. The ideal is only attained with the presence of God. For this to happen man had to fulfill something, what was it?

All of the creation was initiated by God, the whole universe. Just as He gave His effort, investing every ounce of Himself, everything to create His vision and ideal, man too has to give everything he has, man has to fully participate in this effort. We like to put emphasis on "my existence", we have strong feelings of self existence, why? Because through investment of our total effort we can obtain the ideals of God. We have to give every ounce of our effort to earn our place to receive Heavenly Fathers love. That is why all of us seek to know ourselves. We must be responsible to obtain the ideals of God. It doesn't matter who you are, what color you are or what race you are, be like God, act, think, like God to receive His ideal.

No matter how miserable reality is we seek the ideal, something intangible. We want to belong to the Garden of Eden before the fall. It is every man and woman's responsibility if they want to receive Heavenly Fathers love. What was that responsibility? To know that we must understand the fall of man. Men and women did not live up to the expectation and will of God. He expected them to obey and to unite but they failed to do so.

Absolutely unite, no matter what, no "maybes" -- unconditionally unite. In order for man and woman to receive from God they must absolutely obey and unite with God, no exception to this rule. The ideal lies in the will of God. We are the part of creation meant to respond to God, so we should be responsible, we can not be on a separate course than God.

The ideal of man rests absolutely on man uniting with God. No matter how tempting anything might be there is no excuse, no exception. We cannot expect to say" Just forgive me because this and that happened and I could not resist". As a man you cannot put conditions on the will of God, that is where the fall lies, men and women put their conditions on Gods love.

We were given the blessing to participate in fulfilling true love. Who screwed up? Not Heavenly Father, but men and women, the fault lies in you. How can we restore this fall?

The reason God is trying to save man is the fulfillment of His ideal. That is why this fallen mind can even think and dream of going back to the ideal and receiving God's love. The object must be worthy to receive God's love. This years motto is the Unification of Korea. It is a very specific motto, last year it was the fatherland. The fatherland can be anywhere. How can Father claim this? On what grounds is he thinking of unifying Korea, does anyone know?

Father has directed a mobilization of 7000 members to Korea, why is this happening? What does the Blessing of 36 couples stand for? If Adam and Eve fulfilled, they would have been true parents, multiplying to a larger level. Since this was not substantiated the second Adam and Eve had to come. At the time of Jesus, the tribal level, if his family would have united, Jesus would have chosen a true mother, and would have substantiated on a tribal level. To see the necessity of unity between North and South Korea we have to look at the significance of the division of the Northern and Southern Kingdoms. Through Elijah, God wanted to cleanse the divided Kingdoms. The ten tribes of the north were worshippers of Baal. Elijah brought fire from heaven and burned all the idols of Baal in the north. Based on that in the future Israel would be able to prepare for the coming of the Messiah.

Because Abraham failed in making the symbolic offering, his responsibility was passed onto Jacob, the son in the Abel position. Through him, preparation to receive the Messiah was made. Jacob was the one who went to Haran and for twenty one years worked to win conditions set by Satan.

Jacob's son Joseph became the next central figure. He was sold by his brothers. Their relationship was not so good because of the dreams he had, they made his brothers jealous. One day they decided to murder him, but Judah said that they should sell him into slavery instead. He was sold into slavery in Egypt where he later went to prison and was called to translate dreams. Finally he became the prime minister. The course of Joseph was the model for Jesus because he became prime minister at age thirty, uniting his tribe. He could have become king, restoring everything and uniting the world.

If Elijah had wiped out all the worshippers of Baal, he would have created the national foundation to receive the Messiah. It then would have been much easier for Gods will to be accomplished. But there were still 7000 priests of Baal living. Elijah failed because God had told him to wipe them all out. Since he failed at this point, he had to return later to work through John the Baptist.

The reason for the mobilization of 7000 members to Korea is to restore this historical failure, to enable north and south to unite. The 36 to the 6000 couples Blessings have belonged to that era. The significance of Kook Jin Nim's Blessing and the Blessing of the 72 couples of the second generation is to substantially construct Heavenly Fathers nation. We need ideal representation of Heavenly Fathers family, tribe and nation. The second generation is the fruit and essence of the ideal reciprocation. If Adam and Eve fulfilled, their children would have been Blessed, created an ideal tribe and would have spread and multiplied, creating an ideal world. The significance of the second generation blessing is that they are the seed of blessing. They have been cultivated to the point where they can receive the Blessing and create ideal tribes. Without propagating this ideal course you cannot erect the ideal nation. The reason Jesus had twelve disciples, was to symbolize children, seventy two apostles symbolize the tribe and later 120 at the time of Pentecost signify the national foundation.

If there had been unity between Joseph and Zachariah, Jesus would have moved ahead quickly. John the Baptist's responsibility was to cleanse the culture, and unite those worshipping idols with the Jews.

Centering upon True Parents family, my brothers matching,and the seventy two Blessed couples, you were Blessed-- couples from all over the world. All colors, all races will create the ideal nation. The lineage comes from one absolute couple. [Missed some text here as pen ran out of ink]. That is the significance of the mobilization of 7000 members. We need 7000 heavenly representatives in order to fulfill this national foundation. Many of you are excited about the present time. Father is going through much suffering because of failures. Father had to make all preparations. He had to take on the burden and indemnify all failures himself.

How many of you are truly learning Korean? (About half of the members raised their hands.) I'm sorry that English is not my first language. If you truly value the principle and understand its content, at least all of you should raise your hands. I do not care how well you speak, at least raise your hand.

Another thing that bothered me, there were so many blessing candidates that came from broken blessings especially among western members. Father was not pleased. If you cannot treasure the value of the Blessing from God where is your value? Lets get one thing clear, how many of you truly value the Blessing? How come so many were broken? Think of that.

Father has sacrificed his life, his body and mind to give you this kind of blessing. It did not happen whimsically. He has been victorious. He did not falter. Do you think his victory was easy? How many of you went to prison? How many of you were tortured? How many of you have had nothing to eat except scraps left for the dogs? If we so called Unification Church members do not see the significance of the Blessing, no one can. If you cannot solve the problem between just one man and one woman, how can you solve the problems of the world?

All of us want something in our lives. We want joy and happiness, the essence is receiving joy and happiness. How does that come? Through reciprocating with some object. What is ideal give and take? Does it center upon wealth? Power? Authority? Or love? What is love, how does it come about? Love blossoms when one gives oneself for the sake of love, living for something greater than yourself. In the relationship between man and woman their main objective should be to live for the sake of their families. If you give everything for the sake of your mate, your mate receives love.

In this world people want others to give everything to them. Especially with their sexual partners, they want the other person to give everything and make them feel good. One man might think "If this woman does not do what I want her to do I can go find another one". What is your main object when you start your family? Your greater value lies in your family. I hear people saying "My husband and I are total opposites, we are too different, extreme opposites, we cannot exist together". I say "So what? Men and women are total opposites".

Lets say that one couple has been struggling for six years. They tried but could not unite. Then one day the husband sees a beautiful woman walk by and he discovers that she is perfect for him, she can fill all his needs and he can fill all of hers, so they go off together. Is this a happy ending, will they live happily ever after?

If you are blessed your main ideal is to fulfill a blessed family. Try to fulfill with the heart Father has always been showing you. I do not care what your problem is.

In North Korea, if you go against Kim Il Sung, disagree with his teachings or want to do things your own way, you are dead, you will be killed. With Fathers way, even if you give up on Father, quit your blessing, even if you spit on him, would Father try to kill you? No, he has forgiven even the worst of his enemies.

America is a significant Christian nation, like the second Israelites, because of the good foundation that this country was founded on. If, in 1945, the United States, Great Britain and France would have united with Father, worldwide restoration would have happened very quickly. Korea, the United States, everybody has failed. Because of this Father has prepared a providential foundation.

After Great Britain failed, Heavenly Father had to choose Japan as the Eve nation. It is the biggest enemy of Korea, there is only hatred between many Japanese and Korean people, even now. The Japanese always thought that the Koreans were even lower than the animals. Heavenly Father always has to choose opposites. Germany was chosen as Cain, because America and Germany are completely different. The reason that Father recently blessed the Korean and Japanese couples is to unite the Adam and Eve nations, upon that we can substantialize the ideal nation. In the 72 couples, Father stuck Mr. Kamiyama's daughter in, resolving the past, uniting these nations to create the ideal nation. Korea represents the origin of nations like Adam. Through Adam, God will propagate His love to the rest of the world. Other nations can come back to God through the substantial reunification of Korea. Without restoration of Korea, Heavenly Father cannot fulfill.

Many things are happening in Korea, they are opening up. There is talk of a unifying election. It is not unrealistic. There are many things that I cannot say until it happens. I'd like to trust everyone here but like the Molko case, people have failed in the past. People call themselves members, then turn around and sue, saying that they were manipulated and brainwashed. The most troubling thing is that the court is allowing this to go on, supporting the deprogrammers. You have to be strong and live up to your commitment. It is an oriental saying that even the tiger leaves something behind when it dies, it leaves its skin. How much more a man should do!

Maybe it is because it is getting closer to 1990, every time I speak to you I push you about learning Korean. Every time I speak in English I lose all my energy, its strange. In Korean I can go on for hours. English drains me. If you understand Korean the depth of Fathers speech is incredible, every word has incredible meaning. I understand Fathers heart completely. When I see you sitting here with so many different thoughts lingering about your mind, it makes me so angry. You need to understand his heart, more importantly you need to understand principle. Father asked you to learn Korean five or six years ago. Everyone is just busy with their families, you forgot your providential responsibility. How many people are in the New York area? If 1000 people made $100 a week for the church, that would be $100,000.Dr. Durst came to Father to report this court case. Even though we are using our own members as legal staff, it is still costing $30,000 each month to sustain this legal fight. My Father has done everything for America. He educated 7000 clergy, we have all the necessary foundation to work. The least we can do is maintain the church.

When the Washington Times first started it was costing $80 million . How much do you think you donated? None. All of it came from Japan and Korea, and even now Father has to give money to maintain the American Unification Church. That amount has to go down, these are only insignificant examples of the suffering and toils of Father.

You have to do everything that Father tells you to do. I was excited about my recordings, I felt like it was something that I could do for Father. He told me not to distribute the tapes in Korea. That is okay, maybe it will never even happen in my lifetime, but it is okay. I wanted to generate something for Father but Father does not want me to be known as an entertainer. I said fine, whatever you wish.

The ideal attitude of children is that it does not matter what I think, only what Father thinks. We should reciprocate. Everything we are and have came from the unity of Father and Mother. You have to do something in order to receive. Your responsibility is not just to prosper with your family, you are responsible to the providence, Gods will comes first. Create the ideal world, that is living for your children. Only some are giving this effort, that will not work, everybody has to do it. As horizontal true love grows (True Parents), the vertical true love (God) will grow more and more. Heavenly Father can match what we have. He is waiting for the object to reciprocate His true love and ideal. We want to receive love quickly, we do not want to prolong this anymore. Do not create a fluctuating line of faith, but a straight line, so that there will be a ninety degree angle created between the horizontal love of True Parents and the vertical love of God. Because our horizontal line wavers, Heavenly Father has to follow our conditions to keep that ninety degree angle. It should be the other way around, we have to follow Gods ideal. Keep that horizontal line completely straight. Only upon this ideal foundation can you have a holistic joy. If you have a wavering line there is lots of conflict, problems and unnecessary feelings. When there is a model UC member, he can go directly to True Parents. It is up to you. You must understand the Principle and fulfill it. There is one principle formula and everyone has to follow it, no exceptions. As much as there are changing things in the world there are unchanging things. When things meet their final subject all will be able to come together. Only mans spirit and original mind will live forever and become unchanging. Then you can truly rejoice and appreciate.

I will always repent as long as I am breathing. Living with True Parents every day is a learning experience. You can never say you completely understand love. When I expect one thing, Father gives me another. I get confused, I do not understand. I think "What did I do wrong?" So I stop and contain myself and say "I know the principle, I know what my relationship with Father should be, so even though I do not understand now, I will contain myself". Later, I can realize that I was getting too emotional, and I can see what Father was doing. I just have to stop in the moment and follow principle.

God only wants a horizontal foundation, that is the only way he can reciprocate.

When a baby is small, the parent is the servant. If the baby cries because it is hungry, you run to feed it, then you run to change the diapers. Until the child grows and becomes aware of what is going on around him, the parents have to take total responsibility, giving everything for the sake of the child. When the child grows to the point of taking responsibility he has to follow the principle course.

With everything I say I am trying to plead with you to understand and follow principle. Please have a set of values absolutely in union with True Parents value. Then you can separate good and evil, without having this value, please do not make any judgments. They will not be correct, but will only be based on fallen values. It is a problem without the right set of values.

Visiting Father at Danbury was my first experience seeing Father in prison. He stunk because he could not wash. He did not want to show his body to other people. He respects his body as Gods body, not everyone can come close to him. The way those people treated my Father! I hated them! He never hurt anyone, he was only trying to help people. It was your negligence. We were trying to comfort him but he was comforting us. All those selfish, arrogant inmates came to respect him, do you think that happened easily? It was only because Father loved them and served them.

The one thing that makes me angriest is the so called UC members who use and manipulate forgiveness for their own selfish purpose.

The time is coming for a lot of things to be happening but I can not say it until Father says it first.

China has one and a half billion people, that is one quarter of the world's population. If they can unite with Father then there is no problem. Father has all the technology to offer them. Father has always stressed mutual technological sharing. They are opening up from Marxism because their country faces economic disaster.

You know what outcome will result if you follow principle and fulfill your responsibility. You think we can get by with less effort than people outside? From now on, no more excuses. If we can all fulfill then I can just come out here and sing and that will be Sunday service! Every day can be a celebration.

Tradition is a way to link everyone together to the whole, it is a connection. Father has proclaimed the age of tribal messiahship. You had better be worthy of that. Do not try to just reason with your rational mind. Do not just stand there with your head, do you think you could do what Father has done?

As soon as I graduate I will follow Father to Korea. All of Fathers children will go to Korea, can you take care of yourselves?

From now on I want our meetings to be closer, we can do that right? I do not like to yell and scold, just ask the second generation, they spend a lot of time with me and I am not like that.[One sister asks Hyo Jin Nim to sing a song for us. He mentions a song he has just learned that is a favorite of Mothers. Soon after beginning he stops with too many tears. Then laughing he says. . . ]

You guys shouldn't do that to me. [Then asks brothers and sisters to pledge their support to True Parents].

I'm going to make it short today and keep to my point. How do you feel when Father speaks to you in English? Do you like it? Do you feel like was loving you? How many here have studied Korean? What about the rest of you? How many times has Father told you to study Korean?

We're here because we supposedly understand the Principle. Father isn't speaking the Korean language, he is speaking the Heavenly language. He can't even share the basic relationship with you because you don't speak the same language, how do you expect it to expand? This is our language.

How do you expect to celebrate Christmas? Why did Jesus come in the first place? To save and restore fallen man. You are so filled with yourselves, you criticize others when you don't even have the basics yourself. How can you become righteous or make critical judgement without knowing right from wrong? What is the basis of right and wrong? Basing everything upon yourself? Without the four position foundation you can't become the ideal individual or achieve the ideal relationship with True Parents. What is the four position foundation based on, you? No, it is the center, the subject, Heavenly Father. Center on your subject, absolutely united into one. You think you're doing everything, you think you can criticize. Only one person can criticize me, and that's Father. Anytime. And once he says something, you can agree with him, but you must go through that right order. Without going through that proper order and channel you can never criticize anyone. That is the way man deviated and the fall came about.

When I stand in front of you, I have no guilt because I'm giving everything. Do you think this is my responsibility to stand here? I'm here because you lack piety, you lack dignity. Father is pleading for you, so you can come to your senses and make a proper foundation. When creation is in accord with Heavenly Fathers ideal, it is beautiful. Do you think you're precious? You have to earn it. You'd better act precious. Otherwise how do you expect to receive Heavenly Fathers love? Can you do whatever you want and receive His love? You must be walking the Principled way, no other way. We're in the seven year period now. We really have to live up to Fathers standard. The essence of every seven year period is to restore Shim jung. Without your mind and body becoming one you can never accomplish this. Your original mind is longing to meet with Father but your body is full of excuses.

How do you expect to learn Father's words? No matter how good of a translation you have, its not as good as studying his original word you're always depending on some medium and that's no good. You have to take initiative, you have to see why you have to do this. Why do we put so much emphasis on self-existence? How do you think Heavenly Father brought about all existence? Through Heavenly Father man can reach the ideal. Based on yourself, through responsibility you will gain restoration,. That's why you have self-ness. But, you fail, you don't take responsibility. Starting with you, "myself", I'm responsible, I'll unite with God, I'll reach the ideals of God, the embodiment of His essence, His love, His ideal, whatever. You lack this.

You're sitting here going for a ride. Do you know why Father is always saying "I did it"? He did do it, he has to fulfill the will of God. If you don't help him he will do it alone, and that's what has been doing. The movement in America is growing and earning prestige in this world. So we have to put emphasis on obtaining the internal quality which is necessary to erecting the external structure. Without the basis of that sung sang you cannot expect it to last. I'm sure that many of you are sitting here with failures. Why did it happen? Because you lacked a certain foundation. Constantly monitor yourself, that's why we have a rational mind. When Father is present, when I am with him, he is the absolute center. Whatever conflicting ideas or emotions I have, I will suppress them. This is what a Principled foundation is and that's what's important. Without order you cannot obtain oneness. If you want to substantiate something you need order. Everything exists upon order. Understand the importance of Principle. If you know it then apply it. What do you think responsibility means? So what if someone else is doing something wrong, I'll take responsibility myself! Who cares what anyone else is doing. We can only make critical decisions on a basis of purity , and looking from Gods viewpoint, not the contaminated basis of our own fallen thinking. This is the archangelic nation, the archangel was to serve and unite with Heavenly Fathers absoluteness, we don't apply that in our life.

I wish for once that Father could come here and feel like was accomplishing something, like was changing you. That can only happen through our foundation of substance. I really wish Father could come here and speak in Korean without using a translator and that you could understand him,. You are supposed to embody True Parents- one parent, one lineage, absolutely follow and unite with Fathers way. You should be setting an example, at least to your children, you are less than them.

You look so tired, have you lost the fire? What happened to your fire? When you run a relay you should run full out until the last second when the baton is passed. Now is the time of the second generation. We're preparing for the transition, but it hasn't passed yet. What have you been doing? What you lack, your children will have to pay for. You are responsible for your lineage. The restoration of your lineage will come about because of you, but why aren't you fulfilling these things?

Why should I speak English to you? Its true that it is the predominate language, but it is the Archangelic language. Without understanding the Adamic language you cannot know or teach the shim jung of God. This can only be understood through the True Adam and no one else.

You have to learn the proper attitude, and the proper way of tradition. Without everyone understanding personal responsibility you will never end conflict, suffering or hate. That is why the principle exists. Without applying it you can't get rid of all these undesirable things. You don't take initiative to understand these things. You don't feel the necessity. That is terrible. Be realistic, go step by step, restoration has to be done by mankind. We have been given responsibility to understand the ideal. We have to walk back to the starting point and re-find the original destination. We haven't reached that point yet.

We have to learn Fathers language, start at the beginning like children with Da Da, etc. Everybody start learning Korean. One or two hours a day. You can get the grammar down in a year. Then its just a case of memorizing vocabulary. Within one year you can do it, no problem, just one hour a day. By 1990 you really should understand Korean. You can do it, even if you don't like to study. If you do like to study you can do it in less than a year.

Especially Japanese members you should really learn Korean. Think about having all different children in your household, speaking all different languages. Is that an ideal situation? If you really care for the world and care about setting an example, start studying. That's all I can say on top of what Father has already said. You've already pledged to Father, but it doesn't mean anything if you neglect the fundamentals and basics of things.

When I speak to people, I try to be nice, I really make effort to listen to them and receive them. But when I do , they change, they get some sense of arrogance. Why does this happen? Their whole attitude changes, so maybe its better for me to be straight and cold. These things are important, we have to pass these things on to our children, we have to set an example for them. My life with Father is physically hard, no matter how hard it might be I do it. Sometimes I have to stand the proper way in front of Father for a long time, I'm sore until the next day. But you have to practice carrying yourself in the proper way. ^If you practice something long enough it will become a habit it will become natural. Its not easy but you have to see it through

It will be easy to learn Korean, you have books to teach you, just read. You want everything without giving anything. Even in this world, if someone saves your life, you feel indebted to them forever. What kind of effort do you make to show your gratitude? You are even worse than them. Father and Mother tell you what is right according to principle, that is how you should see it. Believe that their word comes from their hearts. Don't worry about the person next to you, just say I will take care of my responsibility. Everybody feels we would have been in a better place by now, you could have assisted Father further, that's what I'm saying. There are so many things Father is doing, so many things we should be responsible for, they will only make us richer. Start new, start fresh, in 7 days is the new year, 1989. Prepare yourself, start learning the basics. You must maintain an ideal order. We need to have effectiveness, based on the strongest unity, moving together as one.

Especially when Father is speaking, have a proper attitude. No matter how long has been talking, he is the center. You should learn to appreciate what he has done for you. He is trying to convey his heart, which takes him longer to do when he is speaking English. We don't understand the greatness of his suffering. Father completely gave himself to you. You don't deserve it, your attitudes are no good, you're not responsible.

What have you created within yourself that is worthy to offer to Father? Have you accomplished even material things like outside people? You don't even have anything to show externally.

I accept you as you are. Prepare your foundation, on that Father can receive you. At least prepare that. Lets do away with misery and suffering, all these wrong things. Lets prepare new hearts to start the new year.

This is Christmas. Principle is the most important thing. Its your responsibility to unite with Father 100% , that's what the foundation of substance is all about. Prepare for the new year. By 1990 everyone must speak Korean, no exceptions. Can you promise me this? We all have to do our responsibility. When Father says it we do it- whether we like it or not. You are the best people at making promises- please promise me that you will learn Korean. I don't like speaking in English. I always liked broken English because it is closer to Korean. Now because I'm studying I can't do that anymore. The teachers grade my papers and I have to use good grammar.

This seven year period is very important, until 1992 our absolute unity with True Parents is important. I'll memorize all your faces to make sure that you're speaking Korean by 1990. I thank you for making my life a little easier, some of you have. A man must live out what he pledges, a man should not be indebted. I will never forget the dedication some of you have given to Father. I wish all of you could be that person. Even though you might have done a lot until now, do more, its a new year.
