Full text of True Mother's speech

Heavenly Parent, True Parents have experienced unimaginable pain and suffering. You who have gathered here have been Blessed Families for over twenty to forty years. When I think of this, I think of what a small existence we are in front of the love of Heavenly Parent and True Parents. We lack so much.

Today, you and I must do our best at the front lines as the Peace Army and Peace Police of Jochongneyon (the pro-North Korean residents' league in Japan) so that we can make this peninsula, Korea, stand as God's homeland, a unified homeland,

Through your 100%, 120% and over 200% sincerity, loyalty and pride in Vision 2020, I hope this nation will stand tall in front of the world as God's homeland. I hope you will do your best to fulfill the hope of Heavenly parents and humankind to fulfill God's homeland.

I hope that you will all participate in this proud frontline. You will create a bigger environment and I hope that you will give everything that you have so that seven billion people of this world will attend True Parents and Korea will attend Heavenly Parents in glory.

Seventh anniversary of the True Parents' Entrance into Cheon Jeong Gung and the Coronation of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind:

Our future is bright. The video you have just watched was specially made in commemoration of the seventh anniversary of the Entrance into Cheon Jeong Gung and the coronation. I am overwhelmed by the memories. Only seven years have passed since then; however, it feels as if it were seventy years. Living in the Cheon Il Guk era, we have concluded a historical providential period and have made new starts. Yet, can you confidently say that you are adequately determined or resolved to repay Heaven?

Neither time nor the entire providence wait for us, and we cannot retreat. Advancing is all we can do. Everything now depends on how greatly we expand the environment from the position we now are in. You must bear in mind that the opportunity for this nation to stand as God's homeland and the central country in the world does not always come.

Accomplishing Vision 2020 is our first step. I understand that all of you that have come here are doing your best on the front line. I want to believe you. Can I do that?

It is true that my heart becomes increasingly serious with each passing day as we still have many responsibilities to achieve. Please think about it. You are now living on earth. However, can you guarantee that you will remain in good health for over a hundred years? Your lives at this very moment are poised to become the life nutrients and the treasure of the spiritual world, the eternal future, and to establish special qualifications and authority in front of heaven and earth for having lived in the same age as True Parents. You are in a position where each one of you can become beautiful gems.

Just as head teacher Cho Seong-tae said, I hope that the education of third-generation members will foster those in future generations to become devoted children, patriots and individuals that take the primary lead in opening a new age. However, being a central figure may be easier said than done. Let us say you are in charge of a small church or a regional church headquarters. Could you swerve from your responsibilities? We cannot avoid doing our best if we think of True Parents and of God's will for a minute or even a second.

You must lead a life in which putting maximum effort with a live- or-die firmness of purpose is your reality every single day. Do you promise to make Korea into God's homeland, which stands firm in the world centered on True Parents by 2020? Are you determined? Thank you.

In order to intensively spur the youth or collegiate movement in the United States, I appointed new youth leaders while in Hawaii. Las Vegas alone has around forty thousand university students. The United States, in particular, attracts top students from around the world. Some pursue an undergraduate four-year course while others might be studying for a doctorate. However, we must first consider that these foreign students might return to their countries once they complete their studies. From a providential perspective, this is actually an amazing blessing from heaven. Yet, if we do not succeed on university campuses, how would we be able to restore the United States and the world within seven years? If a student is witnessed to in the United States, that student would automatically go out into the world. Internally, I am trying to bring blessed children from around the world to Korea. For us to aim at the future in this manner brings great excitement indeed.

I am determined to expand greatly our environment centered on second- and third-generation members. Next year, I am planning to show the world to exemplary middle school and high school students from around the globe that want to become leaders.

Taking into consideration that Korean summer vacations are usually short, workshops for those in our second and third generations cannot be longer than two weeks. Through this roughly two-week scheduled workshop, I would like to show the world to the children and to help them learn about Korea and its importance. I would like to help young Korean members realize how grateful they should be to Heaven for being born as a Korean second- or third-generation member and that they should dedicate their lives to Heaven in return. Would you all support this endeavor? Only one hope remains as the days pass, as time passes by.

Hawaii is a beautiful kingdom of heaven on earth, untainted in any way and with no air pollution. Even though it is still a bit dark at 5 am, I take a walk then. The birds sing and flowers are in full bloom.

I see trees loaded with mangoes as you saw a moment ago. I would have never imagined a mango tree to be that big. I used to think it was as big as a papaya tree, but it is even bigger than a Korean chestnut tree.

In Kona, there are avocados, a prized fruit that we eat. I saw avocados hanging from a big tree for the first time. Upon hearing that avocados grow well in Kona, I planted an avocado tree at Queen Garden.

Another interesting point is that Father loved bananas when we were in Korea. In the early days, it was difficult to find even one banana. I used to think that bananas bunches were shaped like a fan. However, I had the chance to see an actual banana tree this time and noticed that multiple bunches grow off a single branch. They form concentric layers. Investigating, I counted 140 bananas. The banana bud was so big; tiers formed and that would each be one round. Seven rounds produced 140 bananas. It was remarkable.

After it was somewhat ripe, I asked that the tree be plucked. The banana cluster was hung. After it became completely ripe and yellow, I peeled one and tried it. The bananas I had had in Korea cannot compare in taste. It was delicious. The peel was also thinner and the flesh chewy; you cannot imagine how sweet it was. You need to open your mouth wide or cut it into small pieces to eat the fruit. It is just too big for small mouths. That is how interesting the natural environment in Hawaii is. I want to show this environment to our second- and thirdgeneration children.

I want to teach them. What do you think? You all have children, right? Do you have children to dedicate to the world and to heaven and earth? Our future is bright because of that. I will end here. Let us all stand and sing the Battle Hymn of the Republic.

You must consider yourselves fortunate grandchildren today because you have met True Parents, whom Heaven and humanity have waited for. How should you introduce True Parents from now on whenever you meet people in different places? Our Heavenly Parent's wish after the Creation was to become a parent. The Fall, however, caused God to become a sorrowful Heavenly Parent. Yet, Heaven continued to conduct the providence of salvation and found and anointed central figures whenever necessary. Heaven raised the Israelites based on the ideology of the chosen people. The Messiah, however, could not find a nation because of human disbelief. Heaven kept its promise, while humanity did not. As a result, Heaven has had to carry out a difficult providential history through Christianity for the past two thousand years.

The preparation process for the Messiah was extremely difficult. Whenever a central figure failed to fulfill his or her responsibility, Heaven did not work through that central figure any more. A providential indemnity course is not at all easy. Christianity was supposed to fulfill its responsibility and welcome the returning Lord. Yet, Christianity failed to do so. Before your grandparents are your True Parents, they are humanity's True Parents as you have understood through this thirty-day workshop on the Divine Principle and True Parents' life courses. True Parents' courses were difficult indemnity courses. The country where True Parents were born must become our Heavenly Parent's homeland.

You are historic figures because you can attend True Parents. You are in a position that everyone will envy. You have understood and testified about how precious your grandparents are. Therefore, you must always live with grateful hearts, prepare for every single day in excitement and conduct your lives in that manner. You must learn much more in the future. Until now, leaders have emphasized the creation of the environment to members. We must create an environment with our Heavenly Parent at the center. You must partake in its creation. In order to demonstrate to you the creation of an environment, I brought you here to participate in the thirty-day workshop.

You must attend True Parents as your absolute center and aim high for the future. Next year, many Seonghwa Students will join you in a two-week educational workshop for the creation of the environment in order to spread this environment. I would like to applaud your efforts throughout the workshop once again.

Meeting True Parents is the purpose of our lives and the ideal of the blessing

Meeting True Parents is the purpose of our lives and the ideal of the blessing. When I invited peace ambassadors and leaders of WFWP to Cheon Jeong Gung recently, I told them that life was valueless and without hope if they do not know True Parents. Those who came for the first time were particularly moved when I explained that God was a lonely and piteous being.

Even the Divine Principle mentions meeting True Parents, the Messiah, as our hope. We have also followed this path of faith. Have those in the first and second generations led a life of gratitude toward True Parents? There must be no complaints or grumbling on our path. The reality of both the second generation and the first generation deeply concerns me as I see a lack of the most basic element of faith -- a heart of gratitude toward everything. Just as is mentioned in the Bible and the Divine Principle, being grateful to Heaven first is the standard a common person of faith holds. However, we have unconsciously strayed into a selfcentered life of faith. Heaven had to undergo so many trials for four thousand years in order to educate the Israelites, establish the foundation needed in forming a nation where God could dwell and send the Messiah in their midst; yet, when the Israelites came to meet the Messiah in reality, they could not fulfill their responsibility. Indemnity is fearful and painful. We must ensure that our descendants do not undergo any indemnity by fulfilling our missions. We must be able to feel the sorrowful history that our Heavenly Parent had to undergo. Many saints have come and gone; yet, only True Parents revealed Heaven's sorrowful heart. We also understand the term "liberation of our Heavenly Parent" because we are aware of this providential history.

Foundation Day is the start of Cheon Il Guk. Since Korea is our Heavenly Parent's homeland, all nations and peoples must come to Korea and enthusiastically cooperate in order to make Korea into God's homeland substantially.

What is the present stance of the United States? Is it in a position where it helps others or in a position where it receives help? What can we do to bring about victory in the providence? What is the stance of secondgeneration members?

True Father should not be seen as only the Messiah but in the context of the victorious True Parents. All people and organizations must testify about True Parents. This is a precious blessing and a shortcut in accomplishing the ideal of a true family. You must testify about True Parents while you are still alive.

I have begun a new page in history through Cheon Seong Gyeong, Pyeonghwa Gyeong and Champumo Gyeong. The rule of the thumb method no longer works today. You must not think of our church as an umbrella organization. You must clearly testify about True Parents. Though you have attended True Parents, you have not truly known them and this has caused serious problems. The biggest cause of the difference of heart between first- and second-generation members lies in the parents not being able to create the right environment for them. Though the True Children and you are still imperfect, I will work at setting matters right. Heaven has conducted the providence where the Cain world must be loved before Abel; as a result, True Parents had to leave the True Children in the care of our elder families and take the lead in advancing the heavenly providence. From such a standpoint, we can say that the True Children grew up in more pitiful circumstances than you did. Second-generation members grew up with their parents, while the True Children were always neglected. An environment could not be created. Blessed families should have protected and educated the True Children. True Parents could not love the True Children in the same way they loved Cain.

I will work toward firmly establishing Heaven's and True Parents' tradition in accordance with the Principle. In following that tradition I will love the second-generation members more than I love the True Children. I will erect the Cain children who will then educate the Abel children.

Though we say we understand the Principle, we have lived until now, ironically, without properly understanding the Principle. How do we understand the providential history of restoration through indemnity? Heaven's providential history of restoration established the Israelites as the first Israel and Christianity as the second Israel. Please deeply consider what kind of foundation would have been formed if they had met the Returning Lord, handed over all these foundations to him and attended him.

Heaven had prepared for Foundation Day for a long time. As we know, God did not work again through central figures that did not fulfill their responsibilities. We must help second-generation members and ensure that we are all victorious. We must cooperate through all possible means.

The first Israel and second Israel must cooperate with Korea, the third Israel and ensure that it is restored at all costs. Vision 2020 is our goal to find and establish True Parents' royal authority in Korea. Providential first- and second-generation members must march together to find our Heavenly Parent's homeland. The three providential nations, Korea, the United States and Japan, must change by investing their maximum effort and by living up to their faith at the risk of their lives at this point. Substantial changes must be visible to a certain extent within three years. Only by achieving this, can hope exist.

Kwon Jin was assigned as the person in charge of education in Las Vegas and has been conducting activities in my place, trying to yield results in the last place that Father laid a foundation. I am trying to help him stand as a son of True Parents by making him start from the very bottom and witness through the Principle and Father's teachings. Since True Parents cannot visit all 190 nations, we considered Las Vegas, where people from around the globe come, to be the best place to serve as the center for education.

At this point, you must advance with big responsibilities. Do not worry about the gap between first- and second-generation members. If the leaders that have been set up create the right environment, all of our concerns will disappear. When we look at Moses' and Abraham's courses, we understand how central figures create the right environment. We are the problem. Those in charge are the problem. The United States is like a desert. Leaders must carry out the mission of finding and feeding on grasshoppers and wild honey. In the early days of the providence in the United States, True Parents actively conducted a university-based movement. We must revive this movement.

We must save the seven billion people; however, since we cannot do it through our own efforts alone, we must look for talented people who can join us through a movement based on university campuses. Don't talented people around the world come to study in universities in the United States? Why aren't you making use of that environment? Bringing about a revival of activities on university campuses is an important mission for us. Therefore, we must push it forward. Second-generation leaders must find all secondgeneration members and families that are resting and educate and love them so that they fulfill their responsibilities centered on True Parents. We must all go together. Please guide them in true love. When we go to the spiritual world, we must be able to all breathe under the same heaven.

Only when we attend True Parents on earth, can humanity become one big family. Our lineage does not refer to the seeds in the fields, but refers to the precious children of a providence that is based on true love. Our mission is to gather everyone and move forward together. Let us all set up indemnity conditions through donations and voluntary activities in churches and go forward together. As people born through the blessing by True Parents, let us not fall but advance together. Education based on true love is important.

From now on, high school students, middle school students and elementary school students who desire to become future church leaders will receive education yearly with the True Children and True Grandchildren here in Kona, Hawaii, a good geographical location and the center of the Pacific Rim providence. Ten students each from Korea, Japan, and the United States and ten students from another continent will be selected to join this yearly two- or three-week workshop with the True Children and True Grandchildren.

Let us all become proud people of Cheon Il Guk. We must treat members with the heart of a parent and the heart of living for the sake of others. May the United States, which was at the center of True Parents' providential history for forty years, carry on the providence by becoming its center.

Ki Hoon Kim has been with True Mother, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, in Queen Garden, Kona, Hawai’i. He sent the following report written on July 8, 2013, the 21st day of the Divine Principle workshop for her grandchildren.

True Mother shares breakfast with her grandchildren and Yeon Ah Choi, her daughter-in-law (far right).

True Mother shares breakfast with her grandchildren and Yeon Ah Choi, her daughter-in-law (far right).

On American Independence Day, July 4, 2013, True Mother educated her grandchildren about the American providence. That evening, she took everyone to watch the Independence Day fireworks from a boat anchored off the Kona Beach.

Every day, True Mother gives guidance based on her concern for the future of the second generation and the future of the Unification Church. On July 5th, True Mother invited secondgeneration leaders to breakfast and educated them about God’s providence and the secondgeneration’s responsibilities. She gave suggestions for re-organizing and rebuilding the Collegiate Association for the Research of Principles (CARP) and selecting its new national director. She emphasized that a revival of young people will save the United States. True Mother encouraged everyone in attendance to utilize CARP and the Youth Federation for World Peace, a youth organization active in Korea, as vehicles for second-generation social leadership. During the breakfast meeting, True Mother shared the following message.

“Our life goal is to meet True Parents and fulfill the ideal of the Blessing. The last time I invited peace ambassadors and leaders of the Women’s Federation to Cheon Jeong Gung, I told them that the Divine Principle and True Parents are the only source of hope in our lives. When I explained that Heavenly Parent are very lonely and pitiful, the participants, especially the first time participants, were affected deeply.

True Mother spends time with one of her youngest grandchildren.

“In the Divine Principle it says that our wish is to meet the Messiah, the True Parents. We walked by that faith, but did the first- or second generation, in everyday life, fully appreciate True Parents? Wherever our life journey leads, we should rise above the realm of complaint and discontent. I am very committed to impart to the current second generation the first-generation’s appreciation of all the things that serve as the basis of faith.

True Mother boarded a boat to watch the Fourth of July fireworks on the water.

True Mother boarded a boat to watch the Fourth of July fireworks on the water.

“As we read in the Bible and the Divine Principle, valuing everything in the presence of God is meant to be our natural way of faith. Without this kind of knowledge, our faith tends to turn in a self-centered direction. God educated the Israelites through hardships for 4,000 years and built the foundation whereby He could send the Messiah. However, when the Israelites met the Messiah, they did not recognize him and didn’t fulfill their responsibility.

“Indemnity is fearful and painful. We need to fulfill our responsibility in order to protect our descendants and fulfill God’s promise of liberation and complete release. We need to feel the sad history of Heavenly Parent though our skin. Many prophets came to earth, but only True Parents discovered God’s sorrowful heart. Because we know this history, we have the grace to understand the meaning of liberating God.

“Foundation Day marked the start of Cheon Il Guk. Because Korea is Heavenly Parent’s homeland, all nations and people should come to Korea in harmony to actualize what God has prepared.

“What is the current state of the United States? Is the United States in the position to help others, or does it need to get help? How can we lead the Providence to victory? What is second-generation’s position on this?

“True Father is not just the Messiah but represents the victorious True Parents. All people and organizations need to witness to True Parents. This is the way to complete the ideal of the True Family and the Blessing. We need to witness about the True Parents while we have life in us.

True Mother held her grandson’s hands while watching the sunset before the fireworks began.

True Mother held her grandson’s hands while watching the sunset before the fireworks began.

“True Mother opened a new chapter of history through the Cheon Seong Gyeong, Pyeong Hwa Gyeong and Cham Bu Mo Gyeong. Don’t act as if we are an indirect organization. It is best to witness with conviction. Even though the people you live with don’t know the truth, when you witness and share with them, your efforts will bring tremendous results. The parents’ lack of ability to create a proper environment for their children led to the disparity between the first- and second generation’s standard of faith. It is the parents’ responsibility. We all are incomplete; including the True Children, but True Mother will set it right. God’s providence has focused on attending to Cain’s needs before Abel’s needs. Therefore, True Father assigned elder church members to guide his children. This allowed him to spend his time with the first generation in order to move God’s providence forward. Seen from this perspective, the way the True Children grew up was more pitiful than the way you did. The second generation could grow up with their parents, but True Children were always left behind. We didn’t make a proper and nourishing environment. Blessed families need to protect the True Children and educate them. True Parents didn’t have a chance to love their own children the way they loved Cain.

“I have asked my children to wait in a supportive position for the next three years. I will set the tradition of God and True Parents with the Divine Principle. I will focus my love on the second generation more than on my own children, just as God and True Father did. I will educate my Abel children through my Cain children.

“Ironically, we said we knew Principle but actually we didn’t know the Divine Principle. How do we understand the history of indemnity? God’s providence of restoration was to build the first Israel, which is Judaism, and then build a second Israel, which is Christianity. Let us think deeply about the foundation we would have now if the Israelites who met Jesus had made a proper foundation and served him. God did not utilize a second time the people who had failed to fulfill their responsibilities. To bring about Foundation Day, God prepared for a long time.

True Mother, together with some of her young grandchildren, watch the Fourth of July fireworks.

True Mother, together with some of her young grandchildren, watch the Fourth of July fireworks.

“We need to help the second generation and win a victory for everyone. We need to support them in every way. The first- and second Israel’s should support the third Israel, which is Korea, to bring about a definitive restoration. The goal of Vision 2020 is to recover the kingship of True Parents in Korea. The providential first- and second generations can march forward to recover Heavenly Parents’ homeland. Korea, the United States and Japan, as providential nations, should determine to put everything into practice; it is a matter of life or death. We need to show something in three years. Then we will have hope.

“I asked the True Children to follow me for three years with a positive heart. Kwon Jin is working as a leader of education on my behalf in order to harvest the fruit of the last place True Father built a foundation, centered on Las Vegas. Kwon Jin started from the bottom and is witnessing to the Divine Principle Word so that he can stand proudly as a son of True Parents. True Parents began a providence in Las Vegas, making it the main center of education, because we weren’t able to tour all 190 nations. We set up Las Vegas, where it is possible to gather the peoples of all nations. Up until now, the True Children didn’t start from the bottom.

“Realizing this point, you need to move forward realizing the centrality of your responsibility. We don’t have to worry about a gap between first generation and second generation. That concern will disappear when an appointed leader makes the right environment. We can see how the central people of the Providence made their environment on the foundation of Moses and Abraham. We are the problem. Leaders are the problem. The United States is like a desert. Leaders need to find locusts and wild honey to feed their people.

“In the early stage of America’s providence, True Parents launched activities at colleges. We need to revive this college movement. If we are going to save seven billion people, don’t you think we need to call talented youth through campus activism and give them an invitation to participate? Aren’t there a lot of idealistic and talented young men and women from around the world studying in the United States? Why not enter this environment? One important mission is to revive our campus movement. A secondgeneration leader should touch the hearts and minds of our disengaged second-generation families and renew their relationship with True Parents. Part of our responsibility is to love and inform them, centered on True Parents. Let’s all do this together. Please guide them with true love.

“When we go to spirit world, we should breathe under the same sky. When people serve True Parents during their physical life, they can live as one big family eternally. Our blood lineage is not the wild seed from a hillside. It is the providential seed that brings forth children of true love. Our mission is to gather them and move forward together. Let’s make conditions for restoration, such as tithing and volunteering in church ministry. Those who are born with the Blessing of True Parents, let’s go together and not give up.

“Education that is centered on true love is important. Once a year, there will be a two- to three week workshop with my children and my grandchildren in Kona, Hawai’i, which is the center of the Pacific-rim providence. In addition I will include elementary, middle- and high-school students from Korea, Japan, the United States and around the world, who aspire to be church leaders. We will select 10 young people from Korea, Japan and the United States, and another 10 from around the world to attend this annual workshop.

True Mother celebrated Independence Day and viewed the fireworks from a boat anchored off the Kona Beach.

“Let’s become proud of the people of Cheon Il Guk. We need to care for our members with a parental heart. The United States, centered on the 40-year providence, should inherit True Parents and become the center of the providence.”

True Mother finished the breakfast meeting in a question- and answer session with the participating second generation. One individual asked how one should learn Korean and True Mother suggested singing Korean songs repetitively.

True Mother walked around Queen Garden with her grandchildren and the American leaders early in the morning on July 6, 2013. True Mother keenly looked at the plants in the garden and gave precious lessons about life. True Mother explained the biblical story of Joshua and Caleb to her grandchildren. They learned that representatives of 10 of the 12 tribes were labeled as faithless because of their reports, whereas only the two tribes, led by Joshua and Caleb, had positive reports, and this allowed the providence to move forward. Then when the providence centered on Joshua, Caleb supported him fully and this helped fulfill God’s providence. Their relationship demonstrates beautiful fraternal love.

True Mother urged the second generation to appreciate God and truly love the Divine Principle.

Become members that prepare for the future urgently

Now that the first anniversary of Father’s ascension is getting closer, you must become first- and secondgeneration members that prepare for the future more urgently than at any other time. If you do not prepare, your lives will become more difficult. Until now, many second-generation members have been more preoccupied with how they should live instead of how they should lead a life based on the church. It is time to educate second-generation members that can think of the future of our church and take charge of a new future. During Father’s time, Father took all the responsibility. The generation that had a direct relationship with Father is now in their sixties, seventies and eighties. The gap between them and young secondgeneration members is too wide.

I must put everything into order and establish the tradition. During the past ten months, Father’s sermons, which are the guidelines for our lives, were compiled. It was prepared in the same way an unpolished stone is trimmed into a radiant gem. All the sermons and speeches Father gave after 2000 have been organized; Cheon Seong Gyeong has been readied and published with Pyeonghwa Gyeong.

Champumo Gyeong will be ready sometime this year.

I founded the Universal Peace Academy, being aware of the pressing need to foster middle-level leaders in their thirties, forties and fifties. Thorough preparations are necessary in everything. We must be able to settle down more as each year passes. The United States must also quickly work on fostering second-generation members that are revived and filled with youthful spirit, so that they become young leaders representative of the future. We need young second-generation members as future leaders that are dedicated and invest effort with clear goals based on God’s will. True Parents conducted the providence in the United States for thirtyfour years not only for the US but also for the global providence. Hence, America must take the lead and cooperate to bring salvation to nations around the world. Leaders, however, could not understand Father’s intentions and put True Parents in positions where they had to overcome many adversities and face many critical moments. The United States must become a country that you can boast of in front of the world. The eldest son must embrace younger brothers. Father started this important providence at the age of forty. You must be grateful, become a hundred percent united with True Parents and be united with God’s will. Leaders must treat members like their own children; only by doing so can the members become interested. You must be able to teach the tradition of living for others’ sake, living for the world, to your children and grandchildren. I hope to see swift action by our American members. In the future, speaking Korean will become compulsory for leaders. Also, members’ competency in using the internet must quickly improve.

First generation members have taken the lead until now, even at the risk of having to sacrifice themselves, with True Father at their center. In the same way, second-generation members must become one with True Mother, completely invest themselves at the front line of the providence, become victorious and stand strong in glory. First-generation members must provide second-generation members with their wholehearted support, so that we all become victors in front of Heaven. First-generation members must lead. We can only go forward.

We are now the leading people in this Cheon Il Guk age, with True Parents at the center for the first time in history. If first- and second-generation members unite and lead lives of gratitude toward Heaven and True Parents at all times, the environment can also be put in order. Second-generation members’ responsibility is important. I am planning to select Seonghwa Students from each of our church regions to join the True grandchildren in workshops starting from next year.

True Mother visited the Queen Gardens in Kona, Hawaii on June 28, 2013.

Archbishop Ki Hoon Kim represents the North American continent and American Family Federation church. He spent time with True Mother, Dr. Hak Ja Han Moon, in Queen Garden, Kona, Hawaii. This is from the 15th day of the Divine Principle workshop for some of the young True Grandchildren.

Today, June 28, is the 15th day of True Mother’s Divine Principle workshop for the third generation. Yesterday, True Mother spent a good deal of time walking the grounds of Queen Garden. In the evening, she meditated while watching the sun setting. Again, early this morning she walked Queen Garden before starting the day, a day on which she shared an important message.

After concluding Hoon Dok Hae, the True Grandchildren greeted True Mother and went straight to their first lecture. After lunch, the grandchildren swam at the beach and True Mother gathered the leaders to discuss the providence. Here are notes of what True Mother shared:

“There is little time left before the first anniversary of True Father’s Seonghwa. Now is the time to prepare both first and second generations for the future. If we are not prepared, life will become more difficult.

“Until now many of our second generation worry more about making a living than about practicing a life of faith centered on our church. From now on we must educate and raise members of the second generation who will focus on the next stage of our church’s future.

“During Father’s lifetime, he took responsibility for everything. Those who created a close relationship with Father are now in their 60s, 70s and 80s. There is a huge gap between them and our second generation. I need to straighten this out, put everything in place and build the tradition.

“Over the past ten months I have organized Father’s words and the tradition. It is part of the preparation. It is like processing a diamond in the rough, to make it into a splendid, radiant jewel. Since the start of the Cheon Il Guk era in 2000, all of True Parents’ words have been organized. We will complete the Cheon Seong Gyeong and Pyeong Hwa Gyeong (“Peace Messages”) and have them published, and within this year we will have prepared the Chambumo Gyeong (“True Parents’ Messages”).

“I have established the Universal Peace Academy (UPA) because we have an urgent need to educate young leaders, who are in their 30s, 40s and 50s. In all of this, we need thorough preparation. We must settle as the years pass.

“America must quickly come to represent the future by raising and educating second-generation members with a new, revived and youthful spirit. We need second-generation leaders who can center on God’s will and move forward with a clear goal and a devoted heart.

“The reason True Parents have guided the American providence for 34 years was to empower America to take the front line for the restoration of all nations. Leaders did not understand True Father’s will, which is God’s will, and so True Parents had to overcome constant adversities. America must be a nation of which the world will be proud. The elder son and daughter must embrace their youngers.

“Father began the main providence when he was in his 40s. We must be grateful, be 100 percent united with True Parents, and be one with God’s will. If leaders care for the members as a parent cares for their child, the members will respond. We must educate our younger generation in the tradition of living for the sake of the world and for others. Please demonstrate to the Americans the right way of action and behavior.

“I want leaders to learn Korean and gain proficiency on the Internet, so that we can use it as a tool for development.”
