Do you all know about the True Parents? The term “blessing” came about thanks to the True Parents, right? The blessing, blessed families—this is a surprising historic revolution. The fall of Adam and Eve, the first ancestors of humanity, caused all people to have false parents. We became the offspring of Satan, the devil. Even in the secular world, those children with parents that lived a shameful life, parents who committed sins or are in a position where the world criticizes them cannot live with a clear conscience. They cannot see light. Hence, imagine how much indescribable sorrow and despair the Fall would have caused God who had created Adam and Eve, the first ancestors, with dreams and hopes.

Our world today has become one in which the original mind with which we were created does not work properly. Yet, we know that because Heaven could not just leave this in the air, God worked to educate us through the different ages. Didn’t the four major religions appear in the end through this? Among them, God raised the people of Israel for four thousand years and promised to send them the Messiah. However, what happened when they failed to receive the Messiah? There was a reason that he had to come in the flesh; however, the people of Israel took a position that rejected the Messiah and ended up crucifying him. What happened to the people of Israel as a result? They ended up paying immense indemnity.

Heaven does not work again through a central figure or nation that failed once. What did Jesus say as he died on the cross? He said he was going to come again. And after his advent, what did he say he would do? He said he would hold the feast of the lamb. Jesus came as the Messiah, but because he did not fulfill his responsibility, where is he now? He is in Paradise. Until now, the highest place humanity could attain by believing in Jesus and living a good life was paradise. Paradise is a waiting room to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Until now, for two thousand years, Heaven has been painstakingly cultivating the Christian cultural sphere. Christians paid a lot of indemnity in the beginning. They preserved the hope of their faith—the one time when they can meet the returning Messiah coming on the clouds— which took two thousand years. Throughout the process, didn’t Christianity form many denominations? The United States was born as a Christian nation after the sixteenth century. It was here, to the United States, that Puritans emigrated in search of freedom of religion.

Didn’t they first revere Heaven’s will and show respect to God by establishing a church in the beginning? Then, didn’t they establish a school for their children? It was after building these that they built their own homes. They made preparations to create a good environment. But what happened? The United States stood on Heaven’s side as it went through a history of about two hundred years. It was blessed and enjoyed great wealth. Heaven blessed the United States in order to make a Christian civilization that could become central to the world. However, they thought lightly of it and—in the same way that fallen people continually speak of quitting—they could not continue to the end and ultimately failed.

Even though the United States rose as a central nation in the world in the 1970s, it still suffered from many internal problems—the breakdown of families and of morality, confrontation between communist ideology and the democracy, and the self-centeredness of capitalism and of the free world. The nation begun by brothers and sisters ready to meet the Lord in love, ended up drifting into individualism. Heaven could no longer wait upon seeing the United States drifting into self-centeredness.

Didn’t True Father come to the United States then? As a result of the breakdown of families in the United States, he said, “I have come as a doctor and as a fire fighter.” He then went on a lecture tour of America’s fifty states, awakening a sense of calling among those listening to him, in regard to America’s original mission, and in an effort to revive the United States. In the beginning, many people with a meaningful purpose followed him. They respected him. But what happened to the United Stated in the end? Did the United States, which represents the Christian sphere that God established after paying tremendous indemnity for two thousand years, recognize the Messiah directly? Did they accept the Messiah? The United States ended up sending him to Danbury prison.

Tragic first messianic mission

Two thousand years ago, the people of Israel crucified Jesus and caused his death. Finally, Heaven sent the Messiah to Christians who had longed for him. Heaven had enlightened and raised Christians for two thousand years. The United States, however, did not recognize him and ended up sending the Messiah, who had come to help America, into prison. In the midst of his imprisonment, True Father, who wanted to prevent South America from becoming Communist, helped resolve the Nicaraguan problem through the Washington Times. When will South America and North America repay this huge debt to True Parents?

Today is the 55th True Parents’ Day. Fifty years marks a golden anniversary; interestingly enough, 2020 would mark True Parents’ diamond anniversary. That will be a day to commemorate our diamond anniversary. I heard that leaders of this nation are here today. With only a little more than five years until this diamond anniversary, will you buy a large diamond for True Parents? Will you offer this nation to God? Furthermore, will you offer the world to God?

You should think about what kind of mindset you should have in welcoming today. Because of True Parents, you are the first batch of blessed families in history. Thanks to True Parents, you welcomed Foundation Day and have all gathered in a position where you could register as citizens of Cheon Il Guk. Even though there are seven billion people in the world, you are the only ones who know of this amazing universal and cosmic great secret. You are able to be in the position of an ancestor.

Let us look back two thousand years: What happened to the dignity of Jesus’ twelve apostles? You must think about this. How should blessed families spend their entire lives as people who have welcomed the returning Messiah and received the blessing? You are in the position of the first and last ancestor. You can become a representative of the royal family and form a dignified family; your efforts will decide this. What will you choose to do?

There’s a saying that that happiness increases if it is shared with others. You should share the things that you know with others. You must inform the world’s people. You should reveal the True Parents to them. You must be able to show them. If you think lightly of your responsibilities, spending day after day in the same way, you cannot be in the position of the first ancestor of a noble family. Even though you may be the first now, those in the last position can take your position.

However, this applies to the time when True Parents are still alive. The fact that I am still alive is precious and important. If you do not take part in the providence I am conducting now, you will have nowhere to stand. You may say, “I will go to the kingdom of heaven since I have received the blessing.” Yet, if you fail to make a good environment for yourself, you cannot become free. Now you can see me up close and you can talk to me; however, what do you think will happen if you die without fulfilling your responsibilities?

You all know how your conscience works. You come to understand where you are by assessing yourselves. The longest we can live with our physical bodies is a hundred years, but the place we must go to is eternal. If you are wise and not foolish people, what kind of decision should you make and how should you act? You should be able to show how proud you are of being in a blessed family for twenty, thirty or forty years while True Parents are still alive. How should you act? You must change.

The external world of today is a world of extreme speed. What I am saying here now will be connected in a blink. This is how much Heaven has developed civilization for us and for humanity; hence, please make good use of it, fulfill your tribal messiah mission and restore the nation and world. This is the purpose for which you are living today. Only by doing that will your descendants, the second—and third—generation children live in joy.

Are you keeping the Family Pledge and practicing it in your lives every day? I have told you everything as to how you must live. Bearing fruit, however, is your responsibility. Only by fulfilling your responsibility can you enter the ranks of the children who took part in True Parents’ realm. What will you do?

As a result of the breakdown of families in the United States, he said, “I have come as a doctor and as a firefighter.” He then went on a lecture tour of America’s fifty states, awakening a sense of calling among those listening to him, in regard to America’s original mission, in an effort to revive the United States.

In the beginning, many people with a meaningful sense of purpose followed him. They respected him. But what happened to the United States in the end? Did the United States, the Christian sphere that God established after working so hard to restore humanity for two thousand years, recognize the Messiah directly? Did they accept the Messiah? The United States ended up sending him to Danbury prison.

Two thousand years ago, the people of Israel crucified Jesus and caused his death. Finally, in our time, Heaven sent the Messiah to Christians who had longed for him. Heaven had enlightened and raised Christians for two thousand years. The United States however, did not recognize him and ended up sending the Messiah, who had come to help America, into prison.

In the midst of his imprisonment, True Father, who wanted to prevent South America from becoming Communist, helped resolve the Nicaraguan problem through the Washington Times. South America and North America owe a huge debt to True Parents.

Today is the 55th True Parent’s Day. Fifty years marks a golden anniversary; interestingly enough, 2020 would mark True Parents’ diamond anniversary. That will be a day to commemorate our diamond anniversary. I heard that leaders of this nation are here today. With only a little more than five years until this diamond anniversary, will you buy a large diamond for True Parents, meaning, will you offer this nation to God? Furthermore, will you offer the world to God

Think about what kind of mindset is best to have in welcoming today. Because of True Parents, you are the first blessed families in history. Thanks to True Parents, you welcomed Foundation Day and have all gathered in a position where you could register as citizens of Cheon Il Guk.

Even though there are seven billion people in the world, you are the few who know of this amazing universal and cosmic great secret. Your ancestors were never in this position before.

Let us look back two thousand years: what happened to the dignity of Jesus’ twelve apostles? How should blessed families spend their entire lives as people who have welcomed the returning Messiah and received the blessing? You are in the position of the first and last ancestor. You can become a representative of the royal heavenly family and form a dignified family; your efforts will decide this. What will you choose to do?

There is a saying that happiness increases if it is shared with others. This applies when you share the things that you know with others, inform the world’s people and reveal the True Parents to them. To be able to show them, you cannot think lightly of your responsibilities, spending day after day in the same way; if you do you cannot be in the position of the first ancestor of a dignified family. Even though you may be the first to know now, those in the last position can take your position. However, this applies to the time when True Parents are still alive.

The fact that I am still alive is precious and important. If you do not take part in the providence I am conducting now, you will have nowhere to stand. You may say, “I will go the kingdom of Heaven since I have received the blessing.” Yet, if you fail to make a good environment for yourself, you cannot become free. Now you can see me up close and you can talk to me; however, what do you think will happen if you die without fulfilling your responsibilities? You all know how your conscience works. You come to understand where you are by assessing yourselves. The longest we can live with our physical bodies is approximately one hundred years, but the place we must go to is eternal. If you are wise, what kind of decision will you make and how will you act? By showing how proud you are of being in a blessed family for twenty, thirty of forty years while True Parents are still alive. You must change.

The external world of today is a world of extreme speed. What I am saying here now will be connected to the world in a heartbeat. This is how much Heaven has developed civilization for us and for humanity; hence, please make good use of it, fulfill your tribal messiah mission and restore the nation and the world. This is the purpose for which you are living today. Only by doing this will your descendants, the second—and third—generation children live in joy.

Are you keeping the Family Pledge and practicing it in your lives every day? I have taught you everything as to how to live. Bearing fruit, however, is your responsibility. Only by fulfilling your responsibility can you enter the ranks of the children who took part in True Parents’ realm. Just like this candlelight is brightly illuminating the front of the offering table, will all the churches in America blaze up in the flames of the Holy Spirit and the truth and restore the entire world? Please be sincere: Were you happy or unhappy to see me this morning? Do I give you hope? Are you grateful? I want to praise you in front of our Heavenly Parent.

If the people of the United States, of this huge country, all catch fire, can the world become one? Two thousand years ago, it was said that all roads led to Rome. Two thousand years later, wouldn’t it be great if all roads led to America? True Parents are your backers, filling you with inspiration and truth to become successful. Please become proud Unification Church leaders of the United States that attend True Parents and practice the word.

This is the 55th True Parents Day. Do you know about True Parents? Through True Parents and the Blessing, we became Blessed Central Families. This is remarkable.

There was a historic event where the ancestors Adam and Eve became the false parents and the children of Satan. This is sin. The parents created sin. The children whose parents sinned can't be proud of their own parents.

The fall of Adam and Eve created the resentment of the Heavenly Parent. The Heavenly Parent's heart was broken. But the Heavenly Parent couldn't just leave Adam and Eve. The Heavenly Parents have been working in history to restore humanity through religion.

God sent the Messiah, but people didn't accept that he came in the flesh. They crucified Jesus. Then what happened? Great indemnity. The Heavenly Parent could not use the people who crucified Jesus as the center. Jesus said he will return. The celebration of the Marriage of the Lamb.

Until now, even people who believe in Christ cannot go to Heaven. After that for 2000 years, Christians had a lot of persecution. They just had hope that Jesus would come on the clouds.

During the history of Christianity they had many divisions. In the 1600s, religious people went to America for freedom of religion. They sincerely devoted themselves to making a church, then schools for their children, then houses. They prepared the environment. After that there was more than 200 years of history in the US. US became the central country, but people didn't understand the Heavenly Parent. They didn't see the big picture. They stopped in the middle of the course. In the 1970's, the US became the central country of the nations of the world, but there were broken families and it was centered on itself.

America could not fulfill its responsibility. Therefore, True Father had to come. Because the US has lots of family problems. True Father came as a doctor, as a fireman. He gave a speech in every state so that the American people can learn their purpose.

What did the US do to True Parents? With the great indemnity of 2000 years? The US represented the son. Did the US accept True Father? True Father was sent to Danbury by the US. The people of Israel 2000 years ago crucified Jesus. True Parents came to support the US, but we sent True Parents to prison. Even so, True Father worked to prevent South America from becoming communist, even in Danbury.

The year 2020 is the 60 anniversary of True Parents blessing. It is the Diamond anniversary. Today we have many leaders here. It is five years before True Parents diamond wedding anniversary. Are you going to offer diamonds? US? The world? What is your attitude?

Through True Parents, we have become blessed central families. Through True Parents, we have Foundation Day. We have become people of Cheon Il Guk.

There are 7 billion people in the world. There are only a few people who know the Heavenly Parent. We will be in the position of ancestors. If you think about that, after 2000 years, what did Jesus disciples look like? We became Blessed Central Families after we accepted True Parents. We should be different people, world families. If you don't, you won't be original ancestors. Who do you want to be? You should show what you know to the people of the outside, understand?

If you think your responsibility is the same as yesterday, you cannot stand in the position of an original family.

I stand here as True Parents. It is really important. If you don't join with me, you will have no position to stand. If you don't have the environment, you can't be free. You can see me talk to you, but if you don't fulfill your responsibility, what will happen? Your conscience will tell you your position.

Flesh is for 100 years, but spirit world is eternal. While True Parents are here, you became Blessed Central Families. After 20, 30, 40 years, you should be proud of yourselves. This current era is moving fast. So the Heavenly Parent raised and developed us. We should use technology. We should restore millions as tribal messiahs. Only by this foundation 2nd and 3rd generation will enjoy their lives.

Every day we say pledge, but are you really practicing it? Father gave us the idea of how to live as owners of CIG. Our responsibility is to follow.

We have to fan the flame of truth and restore all 50 states. Will you do it?

I also talk about you to Heavenly Parents. This is a big country. 300 million people in the US. If they accept True Parents, the world will become one.

2000 years ago was the Roman Empire. Now the US. Everything is connected through the US because of True Parents. But True Parents have been in the US for 40 years, but nothing yet.

After Heavenly Parent created humankind – our original mind was broken. But Heavenly Parent could not abandon Adam and Eve. Even though it took a long time, through the 4 great religions, Heavenly Parent worked to prepare for the Messiah.

The Jewish people were prepared to receive the Messiah, but crucified Jesus. Since that time they have had to go through the greatest indemnity.

Heavenly Parent cannot use those who failed in the central position of the providence.

Now, even though humanity believes in Jesus Christ, they cannot go to Heaven. They are waiting and hoping for Jesus to return on the clouds.

Pilgrims came to America for freedom of religion. They came with sincere hearts – building first the church, then school, and only then their own homes. Now after 200 years of American history what has happened?

True Parents blessed the USA. They gave a lot financially. They made it the Central Nation for God's providence. But people did not understand True Parents. They could not see the big picture. They stopped in the middle of the course.

In the 1970s USA was the central nation, but there arose lots of problems – broken families, people became self-centered. America started as a country that was to prepare for the Messiah, but it could not fulfill its responsibility.

True Parents could not wait any longer – (for America to do its part). Therefore True Father came to the USA as a firefighter. He toured the 50 states. In the beginning he was well received. But look at what happened, look at what the USA did to Father (Danbury).

The USA has a great debt to True Parents. When will you pay that debt?

2020 will be True Parents diamond wedding anniversary year. Will you offer them a diamond? Or how about -- will you offer them the USA, or the World?

Because of True Parents we could become Blessed Central Families and citizens of Cheon Il Guk. There are 7 billion people in the world, but only we know this secret.

Think about the 12 disciples of Jesus and how we look back at them now. How about you, Blessed couples? What will you leave behind? We are to become the ancestors of the world family.

"I" stand here with True Parents. That is really important. Without True Parents you have no position to stand in.

Now you can see me and talk with me, but when you go to the spirit world – without fulfilling your responsibility, your conscience is going to tell you …

The spirit world is eternal. If you are wise, what should you decide? True Parents blessed you. Now, after 30 or 40 years you should be proud of what you did.

Heavenly Parent raised us to be tribal messiahs. Every day you recite the Family Pledge, but are you really practicing it? We must produce the result. Only through that can we enter as children of the True Parents.

Like the candles on the offering table, the 50 states of the USA must find the flame of truth and light-up all the 50 states.

There are 300 million Americans. If they can come – then the whole world can come. Everyting is connected to America.

Chapter 1 The Holy Wedding of True Parents

Section 1 The Holy Wedding and the Beginning of the Era of True Parents

The year 1960 carries with it great significance in God's providence of history. By holding the marriage of True Parents on March 16th of the lunar calendar (April 11, 1960 by the solar calendar) in the former Korean Church Headquarters in the district of Yongsan Cheongpa-dong Seoul, God was able to raise the anchor and embark head-on, on a full-scale restoration providence. This holy marriage is described in the Bible as "the marriage supper of the Lamb," being the first to take place after God's creation of the world.

The Holy Marriage Ceremony is the Turning Point of Providential History

1 Historians have said that "history entered the era of a great transition from the 1960's." From the perspective of the Divine Principle, you can say that although the realm of Christian culture failed, and Korea which should have been a foundation for Christianity opposed me in the 1960s, by overcoming all difficulties, in the name of God and True Parents, the Holy Wedding finally took place on earth and history began to transition into a new direction. The landscape of history has been one of breakdown and constant division among people; it has only spiraled downward. However, we transitioned into an historic era and the landscape has gradually moved past the era of division and into an era of one world. The time has come in providential history when everything must expand laterally by centering on Parents' blood relatives together with God. For this reason there will be a confusion of ideologies and a rise of cultural chaos. Likewise, things must be shaken up. Christianity was shaken up. On the 14th year after Korea’s Liberation from Japanese colonial rule, the denominational leaders of Christianity had no sense of this transition. They rebuilt churches and the Shinto shrines but did not know God’s providential plan. But they did not realize that the starting point of God's providence had begun leaping forward centering on Korea and expanding outwards to the world. The starting point for this transition was the Holy Wedding that took place in April of 1960.

2 The apogee or apex of the providence of restoration was in 1960. At this time, I received persecution from the nation, the nation's people, from all types of churches and from all individuals. The situation was desperate and I had no other choice but to decide whether or not I would live or die; the Unification Church was at a crossroads of surviving or perishing. I conducted the Holy Wedding Ceremony slicing through the difficulties and moved forward. At that point in time, a new history began, this was a historical turning point. Many historians would also say that the year 1960 was a turning point in history. I was brought down from the cross. All problems began to unravel at this point in history. (052-068, 1971.12.22)

3 After the Holy Wedding Ceremony, True Parents’ Day was established and for the first time in human history, the defiled love, life, and lineage inherited by the false parents was struck down and a new relationship in the original love, life, and lineage centering on God was rooted on earth. Up until that point in history, the blood lineage of the fallen archangel was passed down, but in 1960, on the day the True Parents were established, the original blood lineage of Adam and Eve, centering on God's love, took root. 4. My Holy Wedding Ceremony was a cosmic as well as worldly event, worthy of a great celebration on this earth. On a world level, I established the standard of victory spiritually and physically by taking the vertical condition of indemnity and resolving issues on the horizontal plain on earth. In order to conduct the Holy Wedding Ceremony, I had to restore, beforehand, the position of the three disciples that betrayed Jesus. The purpose of the wedding ceremony was to establish a condition for indemnifying Adam's family. Adam and Eve, who were supposed to become the first ideal couple, were unable to form a true conjugal relationship due to the fall. Restoration cannot proceed through one person alone since the fall occurred through the act of two individuals. A man cannot be restored alone, and a woman, too, cannot be restored alone. Therefore, nothing can be resolved without the efforts of both sexes. In restoring the position of fallen Adam and Eve, the standard of True Parents must then absolutely be established on earth. 5 In order to indemnify Adam, the ancestor of humankind, losing the realm of ownership by listening to Eve when they had reached the top of the completion stage of the growth level, Jesus must come on earth as a human endowed with the greatest potential of attaining a perfected character and becoming one with God’s love. He can then perfect the purpose of creation by finding one woman who can become one with Him. The order of creation—Eve being created of Adam—must be recreated so that new Eve can stand as the bride and, for the first time, establish a family that can propel humanity towards a perfected world. When this happens, it will mark the end of the fallen era in history and the beginning of a new era. This exact moment did occur in 1960. Today, on this earth, the manifestation of a relationship centering on True Parents is an auspicious cosmic event. From here on, a new True Parents’ Day has emerged. Until now, it has been but a hope and question of how God and humankind could find a way to restore the position of the false parents to the True Parents. (028-013, 1970.01.01)

6 The convergence of the hopes and wishes of Heaven and Earth and all people is none other than that of the Holy Marriage Ceremony. Through God’s love and in God’s name, a man and a woman in the realm of heart centering on the origin point of the family of God was established for the first time. I felt there was a story here to be linked to the realm of Heaven’s universally validated relationships and I was standing in the very position to begin this realm with the Holy Wedding Ceremony, which became one of the points of origin in history.

7 April 11, 1960, is the day True Parents were married. What significance does that day carry? Externally, it was a humble day with nothing out of the ordinary. There was only one event that day that made it significant; the Holy Wedding Ceremony took place on that day and was entirely different from all other marriages. Because the Holy Wedding Ceremony took place, history is now swayed by one person. Was the moment of fate prepared nationally and globally for that one person’s appearance? Did that period have a strong enough foundation to pass through its fate with history, its fate with the age, and its fate with the future? The ceremony itself might look simple, but when this becomes a core representative that integrates all the fateful relationships, history will come to study this day. (032-069, 1970.06.21)

The Holy Wedding Ceremony and the wedding supper of the Lamb

8 When we look in the Bible it says that in the last days, the messiah will come and conduct the wedding supper of the Lamb. The wedding supper of the Lamb signifies the coming together of a man and woman in connection to God's lineage. Satan cannot exist with the appearance of this couple, who becomes the True Parents of humanity. God then becomes humanity's ancestor and Heavenly Parent. The substantial form of the mother and father, the substantial form of man and woman, and the substantial form of internal and external character ties the bloodline centering on blood relationship. Motivated by God's love, this ceremony makes love, life and blood lineage swirl around together as one. In the ceremony, at the point of unity where both man and woman become owners of each other, the seed of life—namely the descendants—will be connected to God. That is the ideal of creation. But all of this was shattered into pieces with the fall. In order to restore the ideal of creation, True Parents must find it intsead of all creation, instead of humankind, and instead of parents. This is the essential point of the providence of salvation. (325-131, 2000.06.30)

9 With the return of the Lord at the Second Advent, the Bible says the wedding feast would take place. The wedding feast signifies a man and woman getting married. In order to have a wedding feast— or the marriage supper of the Lamb—there needs to be a bride centering on Jesus. A bride must be found. That bride must be as Eve as she was with Adam before the fall took place. The Lord at the Second Advent is the third Adam. Jesus was the second Adam and the Lord at the Second Coming is the third Adam. That's why the third Adam must come as the Adam before the fall and find an Eve who is in the state before the fall. An unfallen Eve must be found and the marriage supper of the Lamb must take place. Through this marriage they will become the parents of humankind. Adam and Eve, who were supposed to become the parents of humankind, fell and became evil parents. Therefore, if we have parents of goodness, as we should have before the fall, then we can all be restored. Therefore, humankind needs parents of goodness. The purpose of having the marriage supper of the Lamb is in order to ascend to the throne as parents of goodness. This is the main point of Christian ideology. (036-264, 1970.12.06)

10 If humanity did not fall, they would have born sons and daughters without any original sin and born families who could enter Heaven directly. The parents who stand in that position are the True Parents and the family who becomes one with God. Their sons and daughters are descendants of God's family. This family was not established in Genesis and the issue of establishing a bride and bridegroom was brought up again in St. John’s Book of Revelations. Who is that groom to be? It is the one who comes as the perfected True Father. Who is the bride to be? It is the bride who appears as the True Mother whom God can love. If Adam and Eve had not fallen they would have married centering on God, but due to the fall, they were married centering on Satan. They must be reclaimed by God. And finally, the Holy Wedding Ceremony, centering on God, refers to the marriage supper of the Lamb in the Book of Revelations. (053- 037, 1972.02.06)

11 For the first time since Heaven and Earth existed, the day has come when human beings became a filial son and daughter of God and stand before God as a bride and bridegroom. God will give the blessing to this couple to be the True Parents who represent the invisible God in physical from by saying: "How hard you have worked in order to come and find the Heavenly Parent and to know the heart of Heaven even in the midst of all the adversity on earth!" This banquet is the marriage supper of the Lamb. The marriage supper of the Lamb is offered on the standard of the preparation of the true bride's promise and understanding of the ideology, and on top of the standard of becoming a true filial son and daughter. From the day they receive this blessing they will become the True Parents of humankind who represent the invisible God in substantial form. Originally, if human beings did not fall, they would have grown in an environment of goodness receiving God's blessing of love and become children who could understand God's heart. But due to the fall, which was instigated in the physical realm by Eve, the bride, that connection was cut off. Therefore, human beings must become children of God by inversely passing through the bride's course. By doing this, human beings must achieve a connection of heart whereby God can say, "You are filial sons and daughters who can represent my heart." Can one become filial sons and daughters if there is no connection of heart? They must know how God's heart is, and what courses God has suffered through. When they do, they can then prepare the original form of Adam and Eve to stand in front of the ideal of creation. The marriage supper of the Lamb is precisely the event to prepare that form. 12 Originally, humankind was not supposed to fall; they were to become the true ancestor who would accomplish God's blessing at the right time and within the right environment. But humankind did not do this and instead, became fallen ancestors. The un-fallen ancestor of goodness should appear before all people. This person can become the father to all spirit beings in the spirit world, and to all people in the physical world. In Christianity, this person is called the Lord at the Second Advent. What is the marriage supper of the Lamb? It is the banquet where the returning Jesus comes as the father to establish the position of the mother. The underlying guiding truth of Christianity is about this; at the center of Christian teachings is Jesus and at the center of Jesus’ teachings is love. The central lesson of the Bible is also love. The central point of love is the bride and bridegroom, and at the center of the bride and bridegroom is the marriage supper of the Lamb. Then what is the main meaning of the marriage supper of the Lamb? Originally, it is to receive the blessing as a true ancestor of humankind who is able to inherit Heaven and Earth at the prepared time and in the right environment, with God’s permission. Since Adam and Eve failed to accomplish this, this original blessing must be restored and re-aligned. (009-254, 1960.06.05)

13 The marriage supper of the Lamb is the day when we attend the True Parents who were lost 6000 years ago, and have a banquet together. Originally, unfallen human beings in the position of children are not supposed to be able to see their parents having a banquet (feast). Since the parents arrived after the fact, things have become backwards. Human beings are supposed to build a new world by attending the True Parents and giving birth to true children. However, due to the multiplication of fallen people, the order has become backwards. Then what is your hope (or wish)? It is to meet the True Parents. We must work to reverse what has gone backwards. This is restoration through indemnity. Therefore, human beings who were born backwards must go in the opposite direction. They must go in the opposite direction of what the secular world wants. The ties to the fallen world will be severed the more you move in this direction. A religious path is one where all ties to the world are severed. Finally through this path you can enter Heaven and become a citizen of Heaven. We must be reborn again in this way.

Chapter 2 True Parents' Engagement

On March 1, 1960, by the lunar calendar (March 27, 1960 by the solar calendar) at the former Korean Church Headquarters in Cheongpa-dong Yongsan-gu Seoul, the historical engagement ceremony of the True Parents was conducted. With this, God has laid the foundation for the birth of the True Parents in Heaven and on Earth.

Providential Background to the appearance of True Mother

1 When something is broken it must be fixed to its original condition. The world wants to become new; the nation, the people, the individual, the son and the daughter all want to become new. So Jesus came as the new son. A new daughter had to then be found. However, in the midst of finding a new daughter, Jesus died. Jesus' course to find and establish that one mother for which the whole universe hoped was full of hardships and persecution. A sorrowful and persecuted Jesus escaped, being chased from this field to that field and this town to that town. Jesus tried but failed to establish the will centering on Joseph's family—his family—and David's tribe. So he had to leave his home and walk the path of suffering for three years. Original Mind Does Not Work Properly In Our Fallen World

Do you all know about the True Parents? The term "blessing" came about thanks to the True Parents, right? The blessing, blessed families -- this is a surprising historic revolution. The fall of Adam and Eve, the first ancestors of humanity, caused all people to have false parents. We became the offspring of Satan, the devil. Even in the secular world, those children with parents that lived a shameful life, parents who committed sins or are in a position where the world criticizes them cannot live with a clear conscience. They cannot see light. Hence, imagine how much indescribable sorrow and despair the Fall would have caused God who had created Adam and Eve, the first ancestors, with dreams and hopes.

Our world today has become one in which the original mind with which we were created does not work properly. Yet, we know that because Heaven could not just leave this in the air, God worked to educate us through the different agcy. Didn't the four major religions appear in the end through this? Among them, God raised the people of Israel for four thousand years and promised to send them the Messiah. However, what happened when they failed to receive the Messiah? There was a reason that he had to come in the flesh; however, the people of Israel took a position that rejected the Messiah and ended up crucifying him. What happened to the people of Israel as a result? They ended up paying immense indemnity.

Heaven does not work again through a central figure or nation that failed once. What did Jesus say as he died on the cross? He said he was going to come again. And after his advent, what did he say he would do? He said he would hold the feast of the lamb. Jesus came as the Messiah, but because he did not fulfill his responsibility, where is he now? He is in Paradise. Until now the highest place humanity could attain by believing in Jesus and living a good life was Paradise. Paradise is a waiting room to enter the kingdom of heaven.

Until now, for two thousand years, Heaven has been painstakingly cultivating the Christian cultural sphere. Christians paid a lot of indemnity in the beginning. They preserved the hope of their faith -- the one time when they can meet the returning Messiah coming on the clouds -- which took two thousand years. Throughout the process, didn't Christianity form many denominations? The United State was born as a Christian nation after the sixteenth century. It was here, to the United States, that Puritans emigrated in search of freedom of religion.

Didn't they first revere Heaven's will and show respect to God by establishing a church in the beginning? Then, didn't they establish a school for their children? It was after building these that they built their own homes. They made preparations to create a good environment. But what happened? The United States stood on Heaven's side as it went through a history of about two hundred years. It was blessed and enjoyed great wealth. Heaven blessed the United States in order to make a Christian civilization that could become central to the world. However, they thought lightly of it and -- in the same way that fallen people continually speak of quitting -- they could not continue to the end and ultimately failed.

Even though the United States rose as a central nation in the world in the 1970s, it still suffered from many internal problems -- the breakdown of families and of morality, confrontation between communist ideology and democracy, and the self- centeredness of capitalism and of the free world. The nation begun by brothers and sisters ready to meet the Lord in love, ended up drifting into individualism. Heaven could no longer wait upon seeing the United States drifting into self-centeredness.

Didn't True Father come to the United States then? As a result of the breakdown of families in the United States, he said, "I have come as a doctor and as a fire fighter." He then went on a lecture tour of America's fifty states, awakening a sense of calling among those listening to him, in regard to America's original mission, and in an effort to revive the United States. In the beginning, many people with a meaningful purpose followed him. They respected him. But what happened to the United Stated in the end? Did the United States, which represents the Christian sphere that God established after paying tremendous indemnity for two thousand years, recognize the Messiah directly? Did they accept the Messiah? The United States ended up sending him to Danbury prison.

Tragic First Messianic Mission

Two thousand years ago, the people of Israel crucified Jesus and caused his death. Finally; Heaven sent the Messiah to Christians who had longed for him. Heaven had enlightened and raised Christians for two thousand years. The United States, however, did not recognize him and ended up sending the Messiah, who had come to help America, into prison. In I midst of his imprisonment, True Father, who wanted to prevent Smith America from becoming Communist, helped resolve the Nicaraguan problem through the Washington Times. When will South America and North America repay this huge debt to True Parents?

Today is the 55th True Parents' Day. Fifty years marks a golden anniversary; interestingly enough, 2020 would mark True Patents' diamond anniversary. That will be a day to commemorate our diamond anniversary. I heard that leaders of this nation are here today. With only a little more than five years until this diamond anniversary, will you buy a large diamond for True Parents? Will you offer this nation to God? Furthermore, will you offer the world to God?

You should think about what kind of mind-set you should have in welcoming today. Because of True Parents, you are the first batch of blessed families in history. Thanks to True Parents, you welcomed Foundation Day and have all gathered in a position where you could register as citizens of Cheon Il Guk. Even though there are seven billion people in the world, you are the only ones who know of this amazing universal and cosmic great secret. You are able to be in the position of an ancestor.

Let us look back two thousand years: What happened to the dignity of Jesus' twelve apostles? You must think about this. How should blessed families spend their entire lives as people who have welcomed the returning Messiah and received the blessing? You are in the position of the first and last ancestor. You can become a representative of the royal family and form a dignified family; your efforts will decide this. What will you choose to do?

There's a saying that that happiness increases if it is shared with others. You should share the things that you know with others. You must inform the world's people. You should reveal the True Parents to them. You must be able to show them. If you think lightly of your responsibilities spending day after day in the same way you cannot be in the position of the first ancestor of a noble family. Even though you may be the first now, those in the last position can take your position.

However, this applies to the time when True Parents are still alive. The fact that I am still alive is precious and important. If you do not take part in the providence I am conducting no you will have nowhere to stand. You may say "I will go to the kingdom of heaven since I have received the blessing." Yet, if you fail to make a good environment for yourself, you cannot become free. Now you can see me up close and you can talk to me; however, what do you think will happen if you die without fulfilling your responsibilities?

You all know how your conscience works. You come to understand where you are by assessing yourselves. The longest we can live with our physical bodies is a hundred years, but the place we must go to is eternal. If you are wise and not foolish people, what kind of decision should you make and how should you act? You should be able to show how proud you are of being in a blessed family for twenty; thirty or forty years while True Parents are still alive. How should you act? You must change.

The external world of today is a world of extreme speed. What I am saying here now will be connected in a blink. This is how much Heaven has developed civilization for us and for humanity; hence, please make good use of it, fulfill your tribal messiah mission and restore the nation and world. This is the purpose for which you are living today. Only by doing that will your descendants, the second-and third -- generation children live in joy.

Are you keeping the Family Pledge and practicing it in your lives every day? I have told you everything as to how you must live. Bearing fruit, however, is your responsibility. Only by fulfilling your responsibility can you enter the ranks of the children who took part in True Parents' realm. What will you do?

Just like candlelight that is brightly illuminating the front of the offering table, will all churches in America blaze up in the flames of the Holy Spirit and the truth and restore the entire area? You should be grateful that I, who praises you and overlooks your shortcomings, am here. Please be sincere. Were you happy or unhappy to see me this morning? Do I give you hope? Are you grateful?

I also want to praise you in front of our Heavenly Parent. If the people of the United States, of this huge country, all catch fire, can the world become one? Two thousand years ago, it was said that all roads led to Rome. Two thousand years later, wouldn't it be great if all roads led to America? True Parents are your backers. Without True Parents, you are empty shells that become useless. Please become proud Unification Church leaders of the United States that attend True Parents and practice the word.
