Letter to Members from True Mother

Fifty-seven years ago, right after our Holy Wedding, True Father and I sat before our first wedding meal; I vividly remember the royal table being the color of blooming Susuki Grass. Heavenly Parent’s profound heart and emotions could be seen in Father’s eyes and he was about to burst into tears the size of snowflakes.

As we walked the path of True Parents, Father and I have been served countless meals; yet, each time we have sat at a meal table, our purpose has remained the same: fulfill the duties of the filial heart before Heavenly Parent, save all humanity, and realize a world of peace. This is why whether eating boiled barley for three years during desperate times, or touring two nations at breakneck pace in one day, or even having to endure an entire day with a single gulp of water, Father and I have never worried. To us, everything has been gratitude, everything has been joy.

Today, on the occasion of True Parents’ birthday, we are so happy and privileged to host this festival where you can share a meal we specially prepared for you. You are true children born with Heaven’s lineage through the profound tears and heart of True Parents. True Father who is in Heaven and I will always, always love you all. More than anything else, we shall never forget the heartfelt tears and sweat you have shed as you fight in the midst of great loneliness to realize Heaven’s will.

Father and I regret not being able to serve each and every one of you, our beloved children, a full table of warm dishes and steaming rice. Please accept our heartfelt token of love. Beloved blessed families, Father and I earnestly hope that you can become the proud sons and daughters who stand with True Parents until the last moment and work energetically to realize VISION 2020 and national restoration. Please remember that Father in Heaven is continuously cheering and supporting us. I pray that until the day you ascend, you may all fulfill the duty of the filial heart before Heavenly Parent, become shining rays of hope around the world and be filled with love and happiness always.

People who have dreams are happy people. When they are able to substantiate those dreams, they become even happier. The world we aim to realize as your dream becomes the same as Heavenly Parents' dream and True Parent's dream, which is the kingdom of heaven on earth. What the omniscient and omnipotent God purposed at the beginning must be complete in the end. That is why we had to go through the tearful course of restoration through indemnity.

We must develop from the individual to the family, the tribe, the race and completely cut our relationship with Satan.

It took four thousand years of adhering to the course of restoration through indemnity for God to raise the chosen people of Israel and prepare a national foundation for them. It was at this time that God sent his only son, Jesus Christ.

However when God sent a son -- whom he could directly communicate with and called "my son" -- to the fallen world, no one recognized him.

Jesus lost the prepared environment, and even though he practiced a public life for three years, in the end he had no choice but to go the way of the cross. As he died, he said, I will return, I will return and hold the wedding supper of the Lamb. He informed them very clearly about the marriage supper of the Lamb. That is why the True Parents must come forward to save fallen humankind.

Wild olive trees

The metaphor of the wild olive tree is in the Bible. Fallen humankind is the wild olive tree. In order to become true olive trees, you need the owner's help. Those owners are the True Parents. If you do not go through the True Parents, you cannot appear in God's presence.

The history of the providence! The two thousand years of the Christian providence covers the providential history of preparing and finding the God's only daughter. Heaven chose a new people who could lay the foundation for the only daughter of God, the daughter who had not been born nor found [two thousand years ago].

That people was the Korean people, the Han people, using the same Chinese character for "han" that my family's name does. Centered on this nation, the Koreans were the people who had to fulfill their responsibility of giving birth to the final only son and daughter of God, the True Parents, whose emergence Heaven had worked to realize. These people were from the Christian sphere.

However just as the Judaic people had at the time of the Israelites, [Christians] did not recognize True Parents. Nevertheless, True Parents worked on their own, from the bottom, and created an environment for the global providence.

Coinciding with True Parents Holy Wedding in 1960, blessed families emerged. You all are secondgeneration members right? You all are the "pure water" born through True Parents. You also have responsibilities. The 7.4 billion people in the world have not recognized True Parents. We must enlighten all of them.

You have to live in attendance to Heaven. You must have lived in the kingdom of heaven on earth to go to the kingdom of heaven in heaven later. The work in this land, the providence on earth is that important.

That is why, for a long time I have thought about how to convey this hopeful news to those in many fields. The work to create an environment is not an easy task. All of you are more than seventeen years old. Right? I was the same age when I resolved to go forward in the position of the True Parents. I have been unwavering for the past fifty years. In light of that, should you work to resemble me…or shouldn't you? [We should resemble you.] No matter how difficult or poor the surroundings you are in are, you still have responsibilities.

What does heaven look like?

If I asked you to imagine the kingdom of heaven on earth, what kind of picture would you paint? You must first be able to express [that kingdom] through the deep joy within your heart and through your body. You can express it through dance, song or through art. This does not only convey your own emotions but is an exercise in which emotions can be shared. True Parents' dream is to make that kind of world.

True Parents are working to engage with all 7.4 billion people of the world. Is it possible for True Parents to do this by themselves? You must work to expand True Parents' dream. Therefore, as soon as possible, we must create the kingdom of heaven on earth, the realization of Heavenly Parent's dream, True Parents' dream -- your dream.

There are many obstacles until that can happen. However, while I am still here, while you are here, we can do it! That is why I told you earlier, you are still in the growing stage and must study more and experience many things. That is why you should spread even more widely the dreams you are working towards.

The settlement of Cheon Il Guk, which we are blessed with, brings the kingdom of heaven on earth. I am working hard so that we can have an actual environment we can look at with our own eyes. This is the Cheonwon complex project.

The history of True Parents' providence has not existed through all of human history until now. In order to study this in detail, I will specially create this place, which will last thousands of years. This will be something that you must come to see from all over the world. Aren't you looking forward to it?

In Christianity's cultural sphere, many famous artists or musicians arose. If you go to the Vatican, you can see art works by Michelangelo. That caliber of artists also emerged. In our age, Cheon Il Guk, you who were born as pure water can become people who create works even greater than that.

I am giving you the opportunity to display fully the talents you were born with, so participate in this workshop with happy and grateful hearts. I hope that through the talents you were born with and in connection with my plans, you will paint a grand picture as you look far ahead to the future. I pray you will create a great birthday performance I can be proud of.

People who have dreams are happy people. When they are able to substantiate those dreams, they become even happier. The world we aim to realize as your dream becomes the same as Heavenly Parent’s dream and True Parent’s dream is the kingdom of heaven on earth. Special New Year's Gathering with True Parents in Korea

Dear Family,

Dr. Kim and I and a small group of brothers have just returned from a memorable New Year's celebration with True Mother at the Hyojeong Cheonweon in Korea, and I wanted to share some highlights with you. Attached to this letter are some photos of the occasion, and also a summary of True Mother's New Year's message which was delivered on January 3.

First of all, I am happy to report that the success of True Mother's most recent visit to Washington DC and New York continues to make waves in Korea and Japan. It's probably true to say that we rather exceeded everyone's expectations – to their happy surprise -- and so of course there is a lot of expectation for what 2017 might bring in the United States and around the world, as we continue to develop and expand the IAPP (Parliamentarians for Peace) project.

In her New Year's address, which I urge all of you to read and to watch, True Mother put a lot of emphasis on the goal of national restoration, and she asked us the same two questions:

1. Are you confident to bring about a national restoration by 2020, just three short years from now?
2. What does restoration actually look like in concrete terms?

She charged us to think deeply about these questions and to return next month with some definitive proposals that we have worked on together, building off the national goals that we announced last September.

After all the big public meetings were over, we had a smaller gathering with True Mother for just the 9 American leaders and some 25 Japanese. There she emphasized several points

1. Her great concern for the environment and for the earth itself, which is suffering. "We have to return it to its pristine state," she said, "and I am enlisting the help of scientists and professors once again through the Science Conferences. So many scientific discoveries have caused great harm to the world, but science, properly directed by True Parents, can solve these problems too." That is one pillar of her vision of restoration.

2. Harnessing internet technology to spread the news about True Parents.

It is absolutely vital that we succeed in finding the way to reach millions and tens of millions of people in a short time frame. At one point True Mother referred to the example of the rise of Amazon, which recently surpassed Walmart in retail sales despite – or perhaps because of – having almost no physical presence. She urged us to think of how the reach of the Divine Principle and True Parents' teaching could be spread so rapidly through the internet, rather than just thinking in terms of more churches and more members (though that is important too!)

True Mother had some specific direction and encouragement for the Japanese and the American churches both, promising to visit our countries when we start to fulfill the goals that we already pledged. The Japanese church promised to hold revival meetings with 10,000 people or more, and to rebuild and increase the church foundation. Mother was inspired by this and turning to our American group said "don't let Japan leave you behind!"

Mother also reminded us that, even with a new president and new senators and congressmen and women taking office, America can only succeed when it comes back to God, through the teachings and marriage blessing of True Parents.

The following morning, we met True Mother again for a breakfast with just a handful of people. It was a happy gathering. We shared a few reflections about True Mother's speech the day before, we sang songs together, including "Generation of Righteousness" which has become our USA battle song, and Dr. Kim asked True Mother to sign some commemorative photos for the upcoming IPEC workshop to honor the Japanese sisters, who pioneered the Kodiak providence.

After that Mother invited us to tour the grounds of Chung Pyung and the nearby village of Seorak Myun so that she could share some of her vision for creating a model of the Kingdom. It was my distinct pleasure to ride in True Mother's car together with Dr. Kim and a couple of the Japanese leaders.

Mother sat in the front and pointed out the places where different projects are being completed, sharing a little bit about her vision. There's already a lot, but soon a hotel, a museum, a performing arts venue and a shopping center will be added, as well as some beautiful lakeside facilities and new cafes and coffee shops. I think it's going to be great.

Once again I was so impressed by True Mother's confidence and can-do spirit. She urged us to involve her in all projects, and never forget True Father's vision and passion to save this world. "Let us finish the job together," she said, "national restoration is just a stepping stone on the way to restoring the world and liberating our Heavenly Parent."

With that in mind, I'd like to invite and request all our churches and communities to think carefully about our concrete goals for 2017, the "Wake Up" year of the Rooster. Of course, our focus will remain on the Blessing and membership growth. We will continue to establish new churches and new facilities around the nation. But, what will we do locally? We need to hear about your hopes, dreams and plans as well!

Next week we will hold our first monthly meeting of the New Year in New York City, and throughout January we will meet with local and district communities to fine-tune our strategy and goals for 2017.

It had to have been sometime near the end of the 1960s. It’s been so long that I can’t remember the date, but from 1965, True Parents went on several speaking tours around the world.

When we arrived in Israel, I think the weather was a bit hot then. Israel is only one-fifth the size of South Korea. So, we traveled around Israel searching for landmarks mentioned in the Bible. We saw all the locations within four hours. The Bible describes all the locations where Jesus journeyed, and it’s all within a four-hour radius. Two thousand years ago, there wasn’t any modern transportation. Were there donkeys? There probably weren’t any carriages.

At that time, the people of Israel was a stateless nation under the rule of the Roman Empire, but several prophets and sages foretold of the birth of the king of Israel. What did King Herod do then? He prevented Jesus from being born in Jerusalem and thus, Jesus was born in a manger in Bethlehem, about ten kilometers from Jerusalem. Nevertheless, the Three Wise Men came bearing gifts. We know this from the Bible.

Is today Jesus’ real birthday? It’s not, right? The records say that Mary conceived Jesus through the Holy Spirit. How difficult must that have been? Jesus was not a normal child and it must have been heartbreaking for his mother to not leave any record behind of his birthdate. For four thousand years, God waited eagerly for His only begotten son, Jesus Christ to be born. Although the disciples must have known the date from revelations and messages from the angels, they did not leave any record behind.

When I told a Catholic archbishop that Catholicism can no longer produce life, like an infertile egg, I thought he would storm off, but he agreed with me. Moreover, he told me that he would study more.

Even though our Heavenly Parent has prepared an environment in which He is able to embrace humanity, Christians and religious people have still not woken up from their slumber. What should be done? Should we wake them up? Should we show them?

This nation must also fulfill its responsibilities toward True Parents and Heavenly Parent. Because of this, none of the blessed families who have gathered here today have further time to delay. You have to inform people and if they do not accept what you’re saying, that’s their responsibility. It will remain as indemnity. However, you must fulfill your responsibilities for as long as you can. Do you understand?

Politicians are not the owners of this nation. You must understand that the true owners are Heavenly Parent, True Parents, and you blessed families. As the owner, you have the authority of an owner and in stronger words, you have to go for it!

Now. only one year remains. It’s one year. I will give all of the Family Federation’s five subregions in Korea one more year, so let’s press on! If you do this, it will be a true Christmas. A Christmas where Mary is not adored but one where True Parents are loved. Do you understand?
