True Mother's Appearance at the Peace Starts with Me Festival in Vienna, Austria

The program began with the joint MCs' very warm (and bilingual – German and English) welcome to everyone from the many parts of the world from which they had come. They noted that, among others, a delegation from Japan that included several members of the Japanese Diet, and the participants of the international leaders' conference organized by UPF, were present in the audience.

The Longfield Gospel Choir kicked off the program with several energetic and beautifully arranged Gospel numbers, including Every Praise Is to Our God, which featured a group of equally energetic second generation dancers that one suspects may have been the same young men and women publicizing the event in the streets of Vienna.

Austria FFWPU national leader Elisabeth Cook and Europe FFWPU regional chair Michael Balcomb introduced the goals and purpose of the festival. Dr. Balcomb said that if 10,000 people were to say "Peace Starts with Me" that would make an impact. He asked everyone to stand up and tell 5 other people that "Peace Starts with Me." Expressing his belief that just as men and women have dreamed of peace, God has also been dreaming of peace; just as when spring comes it cannot be stopped by man, so it is with the coming of the era of peace – the history of darkness is about to end and the history of peace is about to begin.

The Hungarian shadow dance group, Attraction, then took the stage. The eight dancers performed behind a special screen and created beautiful images formed by their own shadows. Then came Spark, an energetic modern ballet that featured some of our most talented second generation members.

The opening prayer was a touching Christian invocation of God's spirit by a Catholic Priest who came to the podium with a young lady who then sang her prayer in Aramaic.

A musical dedication featured our own diva Seiko Lee, who sang a classical piece by Johann Strauss (himself a native of Vienna) first by herself, and then in a beautiful duet with Mr. Kastriot Tusha from Albania.

A brief but poignant video was then screened; it gathered together some of the young voices explaining what "Peace Starts with Me" meant for them personally. The MCs then asked the audience members to take a minute or two to explain their own thoughts and feelings on peace to each other. A second video presentation that followed, which briefly introduced both Father and Mother's global work for peace, was short and to the point.

Then former Austria defense minister Dr. Werner Fasslabend came out and personally introduced Mother as the keynote speaker. Referring to his long experience in public office he expressed that, while it is relatively easy to disturb peace, restoring and keeping peace is a very tough and time-consuming challenge. He concluded that the task of bringing peace is not just in the realm of religion, politics or the military, but that we must contribute to it ourselves. "Peace is me, Peace is all of us," he said to applause. He referred to the teachings of "the late, great Dr. Moon, and his wife" that before anything, we must master ourselves, because we must first have inner peace as the basis for convincing others to create peace among themselves, in society and thus in the world.

After Dr. Fasslabend had spoken briefly about Mother's life, including her marriage to True Father and the fact that she had 14 children and more than 40 grandchildren, Mother came out to the podium accompanied by Sun-jin nim. Dr. Fasslabend then stood with her for a moment, and welcomed Mother warmly to "this city of music and peace," offering Mother his best wishes for the future of her work.

Mother then spoke. She welcomed everyone, and thanked religious leaders, ambassadors for peace and members for coming. She particularly mentioned those who had travelled from Moscow by bus on a 30- hour journey and welcomed a group of important religious leaders from Africa.

[Mother's speech will surely be prepared and published within a short time in various languages, but in the meantime we offer the following incomplete summary:]

We are thinking about how can we live in a peaceful and happy world… This continent of Europe was prepared by God. After going to the cross, Jesus Christ said he would come again. Christians waited for the coming Messiah, and Christianity's early days were characterized by terrible persecution.

Mother spoke of how Christianity had moved from the Italian peninsula, to Britain. But the resulting Western civilization had not been a movement to give true love but rather to take from other nations.

Mother expressed that we have to know what kind of being God is; only through this can we solve the problems we face. We must understand that God gave people responsibility. Mother outlined the beginnings of human history, referring to the Fall of Adam and Eve and the course God had walked to bring the Messiah to earth – and yet how Jesus had had to go the path of the cross.

Mother mentioned that Christianity had the responsibility to know and prepare for what to do when the Messiah returns, and outlined the course of preparation for the Second Advent and the preparation of the only begotten daughter as the bride. Mother explained how God had brought her to South Korea before the start of the Korean War to protect her and allow her time to mature.

She explained that though True Parents were blessed in marriage the Christian world still could not understand. Even so, many blessed families have arisen throughout the world.

Mother referred to the 50-year history of the providence in Europe, and the many difficulties the continent has faced, not least the emergence of Communism within the Christian realm. Mother referred to our early missionary members working underground in the communist bloc and the challenges they faced including arrest, torture and even martyrdom. But knowing the desperate heart of God they walked their path with unchanging faith.

In the past Christianity developed in Europe, but Christians did not know the essence of Jesus. Through True Parents we can know that God is our Heavenly Parent, and the blood, sweat and tears that He shed to restore humankind. Many blessed 2nd gen members born from blessed families are here and it is time for them to fulfill their responsibility. Mother then expressed that she hopes everyone can become heavenly tribal messiahs who bless all of their tribes, and that blessed families are working even beyond the level of tribe to nations and the world. Through True Parents the path has been opened and we can live centered on True Love. This is the Pacific Rim era, and the time of filial attendance centering on heaven, a time to uphold the culture of living for the sake of others and the culture of true love by living as one human family.

Mother acknowledged that our 2 and 3 generation members are working actively for peace in the world, and said that such a way is the only way for humanity to realize a true world of peace. Today there are 7.5 people in the world. They are living at the same time of True Parents but how great their pain will be if they leave this word without knowing True Parents. Mother concluded her speech by encouraging everyone to become successful messiahs to their tribes and nations and to become shining lights in Europe.

A group of beautiful young children (perhaps from our 3rd generation) then offered bouquets of flowers, one by one, to True Mother. Two tribute messages were read. One was from the president and deputy president of the Association for the Promotion of Peace, which bestows the Flame of Peace award. The other was a declaration, offered by the 300 hundred ambassadors for peace who had gathered under UPF, of their commitment to overcome the barriers to peace.

Entertainment followed, with musical offerings by Seiko Lee, then Serbian pop star Nevena Bošović and culminating with Gospel music from renowned American Gospel artist Yolanda Adams.

I welcome you all to this beautiful Heaven. When I opened my window this morning and looked at the training center over there looked like the normal world and over here was Heaven. Viewed from below it was like the on the top of one mountain seen on top up a sea of clouds. There one could see the bright Cheon Jeong Gung. When seeing this in the morning, didn't you feel that down there is the regular world and it is heaven here? After Father's Seonghwa, I said I would reveal the truth and spoke of many things. When one speaks, depending on who hears it, it can be food that fills you up. If they eat it and digest it well then they can set off with a healthy life. Isn't that so? Are you happy or not after having eaten a healthy meal and singing to me this morning?

In True Mother's lifetime

I have said we have arrived at the spring of the providence. With methods different from existing methods, we must finish the providence and we must reveal the truth even if it is difficult. That is why it is true that we are taking this difficult course. However because there is heaven, because there is our Heavenly Parent, and because there is all you blessed families who have received the blessing through True Parents, if you fulfill the responsibilities you have been given and align with me like a sunflower aligns to the sun, Heavenly Parent's dream, the wish of humankind, will absolutely be realized. If we offer this result to Heavenly Parent while I am on earth, then you can become proud people standing before future generations, your descendants and all humankind who come in the future. This time is not a time that will always be here. When considering a human life, this time that you are alive with me, regardless of your age, is their golden age. The golden age! You cannot miss this time.

Becoming Heavenly Parent's child

Our goal, and the road me must take is the same, the road to becoming sons or daughters that can stand proudly in front of Heavenly Parent. You must know that this time, when during your earthly life Heavenly Parent can embrace you saying, "You did well my son, my daughter," is your golden age. While you are living your earthly life if you say, "I have a different wealth than others, I have different knowledge than others" who is this all for? If you do this for yourself, it is not something that will last. If you devote yourself and contribute for the providence, for Heaven's will, for Heavenly Parent, for humankind, and you helped the providence, then you will be a pride to your descendants. I am giving you this opportunity. Then, should you be grateful or not? Should you complain?

We have to live our lives in that way each day, we approach Heaven with a grateful heart. The earthly life is not eternal. In facing the eternal world, our earthly lives are the path for us to do our best and establish achievements. Now there is not much time left until 2020. Therefore, especially since I am in Korea, I told eight leaders to offer a special twenty-one-day devotion. I have to realize the conclusion of the ideal world that Heavenly Parent originally created so that Heavenly Parent can say, "Everything is fulfilled. You are my proud and beloved children." There can be no divisions or imperfections in this, in the position of absolute alignment with True Parents! You must become victors who have fulfilled their responsibility from that position. Therefore, with greater diligence, you must be loyal to Heavenly Parent and True Parents. Do you understand? My heart is that I want to do everything for you. However today, you have already received everything. This is because I love you! Isn't that so?

I Will Show You the Road Ahead

I am pleased to meet everyone. Please take your seats. Can you see me well? Can you see me better now?

During this past Foundation Day celebration, I asked this question: At this moment, where do you stand? Do you remember that question? Where do you currently stand? Following Adam and Eve's fall, God had to lead the undesired providence of salvation through indemnity, the history of the providence of restoration through indemnity. How arduous and painful must this course have been that it took four thousand years until the people of Israel could be raised through this long, historic and providential dispensation? When the people of Israel laid a foundation at the national level, Heavenly Parent sent Jesus Christ as promised.

However, what happened to Jesus? Did the people of Israel fulfill their responsibilities or not? As a result, the Old Testament Age became a past [dispensation]. Following Jesus' crucifixion, Christianity emerged centering on the revival initiated by the Holy Spirit. In the early days of Christianity, Christians endured tremendous persecution and martyrdom. However, Jesus prophesied that he would come again and Christians waited [for the returning Lord] with faith. Through the works of the Holy Spirit and the efforts of the Apostles, Christianity developed.

Now, I would like to ask you this question: Where does the term "trinity" come from? Catholics speak of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and in so doing, usually draw a triangle. Who created this term? Jesus did not speak of the trinity. Originally, God created heaven and earth and he created all of heaven and earth in accordance with his original form. Thus, in the mineral world, we can see plus and minus, among plants, we see stamen and pistil, in the animal world, we can identify male and female and [Heavenly Parent] created humankind as man and woman. The birth of any living organism does not begin with the male; birth is possible through the mother. Looking back at the creation of heaven and earth, if Heavenly Parent had the holy Father, there was the holy Mother [both within Heavenly Parent]. Therefore, the current definition of the trinity is wrong. Within Heavenly Parent is the holy Father and the holy Mother, the True Parents. This is how Heavenly Parent should be explained. Isn't that so?

The entire world needs blessing

Now, the New Testament Age has also become an age of the past, and through True Parents, we welcomed the Completed Testament Age. However, even the Completed Testament Age became an age of the past. In 2013, God's only daughter, True Mother, proclaimed Foundation Day and the first year of Cheon Il Guk. Therefore, we do not live in the era of the Completed Testament Age but in the era of Cheon Il Guk and in order to earn the qualifications as a citizen of Cheon Il Guk, you must fulfill the mission of a heavenly tribal messiah. That is the position in which you need to stand.

Tribal messiahship does not end with blessing 430 families. It is when all 430 blessed families each complete the blessing of 430 families that a national level foundation capable of expanding to the world is established. In so doing, we can realize the long awaited wish of Heavenly Parent and humanity -- the world of one family under our Heavenly Parent. Please understand that based on today's reality this can be accomplished. Do you understand?

Therefore, with what determination are you living in this present age? With regard to True Parents, we must make sure that there is no one among all of humanity that does not know about them. Moreover, the fact that God's only daughter, True Mother, is here right now and is leading the providence is something all of humanity should know. I am sure you felt this during the African Summit.

Senegal is not a leading power in Africa; moreover, it is a Muslim nation. Our membership there is also quite small. In such a nation, however, we were able to host a summit with heads of state representing the continent. This was an impossible task. However, I had made a firm resolve.

Religious harmony is crucial

At the time, the leaders of our movement suggested hosting the summit in a nation with a greater membership and a nicer external environment. Despite such suggestions, I [remained firm and] said no. Heaven worked so hard to prepare the righteous individuals for that very moment. In particular, for those in the Christian cultural realm, embracing Islam is not easy. Senegal is an Islamic nation and Africa has carried the wounds of slavery for so long. [The former slave port of] Gorée Island is close to the city of Dakar. That is why I resolved to liberate Africa and implement the worldwide providence of salvation through Africa. This is the reason I chose to host the summit in Senegal.

The Messiah… All of humanity yearns for the Messiah and the advent of the Messiah should at least take place at the national level. Unfortunately, two thousand years ago, even though Heaven worked to prepare the people of Israel, they failed in their responsibility and Jesus could not stand on a national level and emerge as the True Parent. Hence, [Jesus] prophesied that he would come again. Therefore, with regard to Heaven's providence, when looking at the two-thousand-year history of Christianity, what is more important than the Second Advent of the Messiah is the advent of God's only daughter, who comes from Heaven's lineage with no relation to Satan, just as Jesus did two thousand years ago. Unless God's only daughter is born, the returning Messiah cannot advance to the position of True Parent.

Slander's consequences

In the gospel of Matthew, it is written that people can be forgiven for slandering the Messiah. However, whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit cannot receive forgiveness. Do you remember this passage? This means that with regard to the history of the providence of restoration through indemnity, we are in the Last Days. Whoever blasphemes against God's only daughter, True Mother, shall find no salvation. You must understand this. We are in the Last Days. Do you understand? Therefore, please awaken people from their ignorance. You must teach them.

Regarding the members of the True Family, there have been some issues. They do not understand Heaven's providence. One of them claims to be the eldest son. I do not know whether the eldest son concept is as strong in Western culture but in Eastern culture, in particular in Confucianism, the concept of the eldest son [is strong.] The eldest son carries the family name. When the eldest son ascends to the spirit world, the second or third son does not become the eldest. The line continues with the son of the eldest son; it is that son's responsibility. No matter how old the uncles may be, they should attend the ancestors by attending the eldest son's son at the center. This is the tradition of Eastern, Confucian, culture.

True Parents' uniqueness

However, regarding Heaven's providence, what is clear is that True Parents are the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. There is no previous or future True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. This means, no concept of inheritor or successor is possible. Do you understand?

With regard to carrying on the tradition of the True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, the person standing in the position of eldest son can become a central figure in carrying on the tradition. In simple terms, this son stands in a position akin to the High Priest. There are High Priests in each nation; those among you who are responsible for a nation are the High Priests of that nation. However, regarding the providence as a whole, when it comes to establishing the tradition centering on True Parents, the eldest son's line will carry this mission through the generations. Do you understand what I mean?

Just as there is only one Heavenly Parent, there is only one True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. Please remember this. Do you understand? Thank you. You are all truly wise and sensible. I need to speak proudly of all of you once again. To reiterate: there can be no confusion or side branches hampering us on the path we are taking; please understand that there is only one path.

I have patiently waited and endured for a long time. I was born and raised as Heavenly Parent's daughter. This is why even if no one had taught me the Divine Principle, I knew Heaven's providence. That is how I made a firm resolve at a young age. I became the subject [of the providence]. My thinking was, I will realize Heavenly Parent's dream during my lifetime.

In the future, the Divine Principle will need many updates. What I mean is that theories from the Completed Testament Age do not suffice. I said to all of you that I would build and prepare a foundation that would enable all of humanity throughout the world to experience True Parents' achievements, internally and externally agree with True Parents and easily understand their providence. Did I achieve this goal or not?

Furthermore, how would the world of peace that Heavenly Parent and humanity yearn for look? After resolving to make a model [for the world of peace] and expanding this model, what happened to the Cheonwon Complex? You all came to Korea for True Parent's Birthday celebrations, didn't you? Each year, the Cheonwon Complex will look different. I am working so hard; should you expand Heaven's foundation in your respective nations and throughout the world or not?

Because I saw that potential [in America] I suddenly came here. We shall realize the restoration of the nation and the restoration of the world without fail! Isn't that so?

However, regarding Heaven’s providence, what is clear is that True Parents are True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. There is no previous or future True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. This means, there can be no concept of inheritor or successor. Do you understand?

With regards to carrying on the tradition of True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind, the person standing in the position of eldest son can become a central figure in carrying on the tradition. In simple terms, this son stands in a position akin to the High Priest. There are High Priests in each nation; those among you who are responsible for a nation are the High Priests of that nation. However, regarding the providence as a whole, when it comes to establishing the tradition centering on True Parents, the eldest son’s line will carry this mission through the generations. Do you understand what I mean?

Just as there is only one Heavenly Parent, there is only one True Parents of Heaven, Earth and Humankind. Please remember this. Do you understand? Thank you. You are all truly wise and sensible. I need to proudly speak of all of you once again.

To reiterate, there can be no confusion or side branches hampering us on the path we are taking; please understand that there is only one path. I have patiently waited and endured for a long time. I was born and grew as Heavenly Parent’s daughter. This is why even if no one taught me the Divine Principle, I knew Heaven’s providence. That is how I made a firm resolve at a young age. I became the subject [of the providence]. My thought was that I will realize Heavenly Parent’s dream during my lifetime.

In the future, the Divine Principle will need many updates. What I mean is that theories from the Completed Testament Age do not suffice. I spoke to all of you that I would build and prepare a foundation that would enable all of humanity throughout the world to experience internally and externally the achievements of True Parents, agree with True Parents and understand easily their providence. Did I achieve this goal or not?

Furthermore, how would the world of peace that Heavenly Parent and humanity yearn for look like? After resolving to make a model [for the world of peace] and expand this model, what happened to the Cheonwon Complex? You all came to Korea for True Parent’s Birthday celebrations isn’t it? Each year, the [Cheonwon Complex] will look different. I am working so hard; should you or should you not expand Heaven’s foundation in your respective nations and throughout the world?

It is because I saw that potential [in America] that I suddenly came here. We shall realize the restoration of the nation and the restoration of the world without fail! Isn’t that so?

Tribal Messiahship does not end with blessing 430 families

I am pleased to meet you everyone. Please take your seats. Can you see me well? Can you see me better now?

During this past celebration of Foundation Day, I asked this question: “At this current moment, where do you stand?” Do you remember this question? Where do you currently stand? Following the fall of Adam and Eve, God had to lead the undesired providence of salvation through indemnity, the history of the providence of restoration through indemnity. How arduous and painful must this course have been that it took 4,000 years until the people of Israel could be raised through this long, historical and providential dispensation? When the people of Israel laid a foundation at the national level, Heavenly Parent sent Jesus Christ as promised.

However, what happened to Jesus? Did the people of Israel fulfill their responsibility or not? As a result, the Old Testament Age became a past [dispensation]. Following Jesus’ crucifixion, Christianity emerged centering on the revival initiated by the Holy Spirit. In the early days of Christianity, Christians endured tremendous persecution and martyrdom. However, Jesus prophesized that he would come again and Christians waited [for the Second Advent] with faith. Through the works of the Holy Spirit and the efforts of the Apostles, Christianity developed.

Now, I would like to ask you this question: where does the term trinity come from? Catholicism speaks of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, and in so doing, usually draws a triangle. Who created this term? Jesus did not speak of the trinity. Originally, God created heaven and earth and he created all of Heaven and Earth in accordance with His Original Form. Thus, in the mineral world, we can see plus and minus, among plants, we see stamen and pistil, in the animal world, we can identify male and female and [Heavenly Parent] created humankind as man and woman.

The birth of any living organism does not begin with the male; birth is possible through the mother. Looking back at the creation of Heaven and Earth, if Heavenly Parent had the Holy Father, there was also the Holy Mother [within Heavenly Parent]. Therefore, the current definition of the trinity is wrong. Within Heavenly Parent is the Holy Father and the Holy Mother, the True Parents. This is how Heavenly Parent should be explained. Isn’t that so?

Now, the New Testament Age also became an age of the past and through True Parents, we welcomed the Completed Testament Age. However, even the Completed Testament Age became an age of the past. In 2013, the Only Begotten Daughter, True Mother proclaimed Foundation Day and the starting year of Cheon Il Guk. Therefore, we currently do not live in the era of the Completed Testament Age but in the era of Cheon Il Guk and in order to earn your qualifications as citizen of Cheon Il Guk, you must fulfill the mission of Heavenly Tribal Messiah. That is the position where you need to stand.

Tribal Messiahship does not end with blessing 430 families. It is when all blessed 430 families also each complete the blessing of 430 families that a national level foundation capable of expanding to the world can be established. In so doing, we can realize the long awaited wish of Heavenly Parent and humanity: the world of one family under the Heavenly Parent. Please understand that looking at today’s reality, this can be accomplished. Do you understand?

Therefore, with what determination are you living in this present age? With regards to True Parents, we must make sure that there is no one among all of humanity that does not know about True Parents. Moreover, the fact that the Only Begotten Daughter, True Mother, is here right now and is leading the current providence is something all of humanity should know. I am sure you felt this during the African Summit.

Senegal is not the leading power of Africa; moreover, it is a Muslim nation. Our membership there is also quite small. In such a nation, however, we were able to host a Summit with heads of state representing the continent. This was an impossible task. However, I made a firm resolve.

At the time, the leaders of our movement suggested hosting the Summit in a nation with a greater membership and a nicer external environment. Despite such suggestions, [I remained firm] and said no. Heaven worked so hard to prepare the righteous individuals for this very moment. In particular, in the Christian cultural realm, it is not easy to embrace Islam. Now, Senegal is an Islamic nation and Africa has carried the wounds of slavery for so long. [The former slave port of] Goree Island is close to the city of Dakar. That is why I resolved to liberate Africa and implement the worldwide providence of salvation through Africa. This is the reason I chose to host the Summit in Senegal.

The Messiah; all of humanity yearns for the Messiah and the advent of the Messiah should at least take place at the national level. Unfortunately, 2,000 years ago, even though Heaven worked to prepare the people of Israel, they failed in their responsibility and Jesus could not stand on a national level and emerge as the True Parent. Hence, [Jesus] prophesied that he would come again. Therefore, with regards to Heaven’s providence, when looking at the 2,000 year history of Christianity, what is more important than the Second Advent of the Messiah, is the advent of the Only Begotten Daughter who comes from Heaven’s lineage with no relations to Satan, just as Jesus did 2,000 years ago. Unless the Only Begotten Daughter is born, the returning Messiah cannot advance to the position of True Parent.

In the gospel of Matthew, it is written that people can be forgiven for slandering the Messiah. However, whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit cannot be forgiven. Do you remember this passage? This means that with regard to the history of the providence of restoration through indemnity, we are in the Last Days. Whoever blasphemes against the Only Begotten Daughter, True Mother shall find no salvation. You must understand this. We are in the Last Days. Do you understand?

Therefore, please awaken people from their ignorance. You must teach them. Regarding the members of the True Family, there have been some issues. They do not understand Heaven’s providence. One of them claims to be the eldest son. I do not know whether the concept of eldest son is as strong in Western culture but in Eastern culture, in particular in Confucianism, the concept of eldest son [is strong.] The eldest son carries the family name. When the eldest son ascends to the spirit world, the second or third son does not become the eldest. The line continues with the son of the eldest son; it is that son’s responsibility.
