Today marks the ninth Day of All Things.1 Since the Day of All Things was established on May 1, 1963, this year marks a full eight years. Holy days that the Unification Church celebrates are not celebrated by any tribe or nation; the Day of All Things is one of our celebrations. The Unification Church has four major holy days: Parent’s Day, Children’s Day, the Day of All Things and God’s Day.
The gap with God must be narrowed Adam and Eve, the first ancestors of humankind, fell at the top of the perfection level of the growth stage, resulting in the disappearance of humankind’s parents. God needed to have a family that he could delight in, but because that did not happen, we are aware that a four-position foundation centered on God could not be established.
Instead, fallen children were born into that family. The family fell within the evil realm where they could not establish a relationship with God either internally or externally. As a result, God has been working until now to find a family with which he can have a relationship. That has been the history of the providence of restoration. In order to find it, one man and one woman must be found. A family must be found and established before a clan is found; a clan must be found before a tribe is found, and a tribe must be found before the nation is found.
In other words, a man and woman that can naturally bring Satan, the center of evil, to surrender and that can give orders to Satan as though they were dealing with a servant must appear. A man and woman that possess a standard through which Satan has no other alternative but to act according to their orders and instructions must appear. Unless that happens, the positions of a son and daughter of God cannot be determined. Only by receiving God’s love after becoming such sons and daughters can a man represent God’s love and a woman represent God’s love.
When a man and woman of that type exist, no resentment whatsoever should be left in the relationship between them. From a perspective that takes men and women into consideration, it is understood that Eve, the woman, caused Adam, the man to fall; hence, women are seen as the enemy of men and men as the enemies of women. Adam, who as a man was in the subject position, had the responsibility to maintain dominion over himself no matter how craftily Eve, in the position of an object, tempted him. Despite that, the fall occurred because he listened to what the woman said.
Even if one receives God’s love, if one receives it as an individual, the connection of a true couple cannot be decided. When this man and woman appear on earth, they should not be two separate beings that have not become one. A man does not exist for the sake of himself nor does a woman exist for her own sake. A man and woman must become one internally and externally centered on God’s love, forming a unity no one can break. Without forming a foundation of deep heart, the basis for a true family cannot be made. This is the principle’s point of view.
To enter the realm of perfection Centered on whom have Parents’ Day, Children’s Day and the Day of All Things been established? These days have not been established centered on parents, children or all things. You must know that they have been established centered on the parents’ love. You should also understand that even if you become parents, without establishing the internal aspects of love through which you can become one with God, you cannot move to the position of true parents, nor can children move to the position of the true children or the entire creation move to the position of true things.
God created all things before he created man. After creating all things, he created Adam and Eve. Once Adam and Eve had grown up, they were to form a family, and God’s love was to settle at the center of that family. Hence, God’s love was to come later in the process. God’s love was to settle at the very end.
An individual man receiving God’s love creates a vertical foundation but not a horizontal one. From where, then, does the horizontal foundation start? It starts from the unity of a man and a woman that had received love from a vertical position before that. A man and woman become one not only to conclude their vertical positions, but also because their unity becomes the origin from which the ideal of horizontal love starts. In other words, a horizontal relationship can not be formed without a man and woman becoming a couple.
Looking at the providence of restoration until now, we see that God sent his only son and could form a foundation through which he could love the son; yet, what was the cause that led to the son’s not being able to fulfill God’s will? The son could not accomplish God’s will not because he could not receive love on an individual level, but because he could not prepare a foundation for familial love. As a result, the motivation to begin the love of a horizontal world could not be established. Consequently, God’s will could not be established on earth. The providential perspective is that Christianity has been seeking to restore the origin of horizontal love for the past two thousand years. It is the final purpose that Christianity has been looking toward as their hope, the day of the Lord’s return, the Second Coming.
The day the Lord comes, the Second Advent, cannot be accomplished merely by God’s son arriving, but only when a bride has been prepared that can welcome that son. Once the bride and groom have been determined, they should not keep their distance from each other but should become completely one and have children based on the foundation of that unity. When this happens, a four position foundation centered on God will be formed on earth and God can have a people.
Old Testament offerings
Man fell and plunged into a realm of unprincipled living. However, when objects fall, which object reaches the bottom first, a heavy one or a light one? When a person falls, the weighty head falls first; people don’t fall feet first. The heavy object will reach the bottom first even if you tell it not to. That is why the most deeply involved fallen culprit falls deepest and is buried at the very bottom.
As a result of the Fall, what moved to the top position and what moved to the lowest position? All things came to be at the top and were followed by Adam and then Eve. The position human beings held and that of all things switched as a result of the Fall. Hence, the providence of restoration has been about restoring these positions to their original ones. Can a human being move up to the realm of perfection by ignoring the realm of all things? The answer is no.
In Old Testament times, the chief priests formed a relationship with God through offerings. They had to become one with the offering. Why did the chief priests have to do that? Offerings were in the position of an object and the man stood in the position of a subject; hence, being in such a relationship, an object receiving official recognition from God opened the way for the subject to be able to also receive official recognition. If a human being had become one with the offering, God would have been present above that.
There are true things and false things among all things. Cows, sheep, doves and the like are good things. What do they represent? The cows chewing their cud while looking off toward the distant hills represent human beings that must be restored. In other words, they represent men and women waiting for that one day of restoration with all their hearts. Sheep are known to be weak creatures. Sheep are rather large, but they can be caught and eaten by smaller wild animals. Sheep represent things that are weak. Furthermore, they do not resist. Sheep do not resist when their masters catch them. What do you think the dove represents? We often use the term “loveydovey” when speaking of couples. That is because doves symbolize love.
From this perspective, doves are on a higher level of goodness than other wild animals. Human beings had to become one with those animals. This means that a human being had to become a person that was as loyal as a cow, as sacrificial as a lamb while possessing the emotional sensitivity of a dove. In other words, human beings had to become one with the animals that represented the essence of restoration, and based on that they had to work on developing a relationship with God.
A family must be sought
If the Old Testament covered the era of offerings, what was the next era, that of the New Testament? Jesus came qualified as a substantial being, a perfected offering. Jesus was the fruit of the Old Testament. Having come as the fruit of the offerings made in Old Testament times, if Jesus had offered all things and all Cains to God, religious orders and the nation would have been restored. If that had happened, an Abel-type nation would have been established, all things in the satanic world would have been restored and Cain-like religious orders and peoples would have disappeared.
That is why Jesus was the fruit representing all things, representing the religious orders and representing the people of Israel. For this reason, redemption through the cross began to take place. The New Testament is about offering Jesus as an offering, without which restoration would have been impossible.
Next comes the Completed Testament era. Christianity must prepare the motivation for the Lord’s return. Because Eve seduced Adam and made him fall, Christianity must form the global realm of Eve, the realm of the bride. Once this is formed, the groom will come.
What is the Lord who comes as the groom on earth supposed to do? He should seek a family. He should find a family among those on Satan’s side. But, once he finds a family on Satan’s side, it would be great if Satan were to voluntarily offer the family to him saying, “Here you are.” Do you think, though, that Satan would do that? He wouldn’t. After Jacob worked like a slave for twentyone years in Haran and planned to leave, taking his property with him, do you think Laban was glad to send him off? He was not. Jacob felt that he could not escape Laban’s watchful eye, so he tricked Laban. Moses did the same. The Israelites had to trick the pharaoh, who did not want to let them go, even though he had told them that he would.
The coming Lord is in the same position. Who does the coming Lord come to look for on earth? He came to look for his bride. In that case, where is that bride? He had to find a bride from the Christian realm, but because of their opposition, he had no other choice but to take her from the satanic world. Christianity had to prepare to receive the groom from the position of the bride, but it failed to do so. Because it failed, the coming Lord had to go into the satanic world to take his bride.
If you go to the satanic world and say, "Give me my wife," do you think Satan would give her up, or not? He would not. If Satan did give away the Lord’s bride, it would be easy to find her; however, because Satan wouldn’t, the bride could not be found. Neither can we kill Satan and forcefully take her away because Satan did not kill God when he took away Adam and Eve. Hence, we cannot kill Satan and claim the bride. She must be found without killing Satan.
Since it is clear that Satan would not give the bride away, tactics had to be set up to find her. In other words, tactics that could bring Satan to subjugation had to be employed. One must perform restoration from the bottom up, through sacrifice and working from the position of a servant.
The archangel, who was a servant, caused Eve to fall, overturning everything. Hence, one must work from the position of a servant. Working from a servant’s position occurs in the course of restoration. That is because we must possess greater love than Satan, who is the owner, in order to find the bride. The bride can only be found after a foundation is prepared through which Eve can reject everything about herself and say, “I will follow you even if I have to die.”
That partner is a woman, but what kind of woman is she? She is the woman that can become a bride among women. Among women, there are motherly women and daughterly women. They represent Leah and Rachael. This is not what the groom intentionally desired, but such a providence had to take place in accordance with the heavenly principle.
However, the mother, in the position of a servant, must carefully raise her daughter. If the mother is a servant, what becomes of the daughter? She becomes a servant’s daughter. An inheritance ceremony is therefore needed for the servant’s daughter to be registered as God’s daughter. Only through this ceremony can the bride be designated in front of the returning Lord (the groom) and a new proclamation be made. That happened in 1960.
The era of all things
What, then, should we do during the arrival of the era of all things? We must connect all horizontal nations and the entire realm of all things. When looking at America, what was the first thing Puritans did when they arrived in America? They built a church. Then they farmed and finally they created a new world culture. Today, America has become a leading country in the world. It served God first so it has been blessed. That is the principle. That is why I am doing the same thing.
The families that have been blessed until now all stand in a position of glory. In other words, they are in the realm of paradise and the kingdom of heaven. Then from whom did you receive the benefit of entering into that realm? Did you receive it because of your own merit? It could happen thanks to Teacher. I have engrafted you to me on the family level. You should be able to repay that.
Why do we celebrate the Day of All Things? To unite all the things that belong to you with God. In order to do that, you must dedicate to God all jointly held property (everything that belongs to the country) not to mention private property. This is your responsibility. Hence, each time we celebrate the Day of All Things, you must think, Has the Korean Peninsula2 become a nation that can be dedicated to God?
So far, even the village you are from is still in the grips of Satan’s realm, so you are not able to act freely on the foundation of Father’s name. You must think about how you can offer this up to God./
