Since we know that living for ourselves, for myself is always being an enemy in relation to the course of the providence of salvation, and living for others is the course which levels that path of all the difficulties and struggles which are always in front of us, please let us go the path of living for others.

If our spirit becomes exhausted that is not something we can resolve on our own. On the contrary please let us realize that if we live for others or sacrifice more because of being in a position to suffer more and to live for others, there is another path which can be pioneered as a course of reaction. And please let us realize that there is another path that can lead to you by increasing the level of precious loyalty and offering more devotion to you. We earnestly hope that you will allow us to understand that the problem is not in other people, it is in ourselves, in myself.

We know well that it is the principle of the real world that no matter how strongly a cold wind blows, if I prepare clothes for myself and wear them, that cold wind just blows by without affecting me, but if I don't have the ability to be able to prepare myself for that, due to that I become ill, and due to that I can be bent over. Accordingly in our lives today as well we will have to take on this principle and reform our lives and be able to determine the value which heaven is hoping for, which can give light to the course of our lives. Please let us realize that only then will we be able to become the sons and daughters who can make you happy.

We must understand the fact that having been excited sons and daughters who were happy in the past does not mean we will be happy sons and daughters today. We can be happier today than in the past. In order to become sons and daughters who can feel valuable stimulation it will not do unless we stand in a position where we can believe heaven, and look up to heaven, and consult directly with heaven from a position of being able to take on a more difficult, a loftier, a more valuable, a more responsible position. We earnestly hope and desire that you will allow us to become your sons and daughters who know that taking on a more important responsibility is an honor, that going a more difficult path of the cross than others is our pride, and that living a more serving life than others is a valuable life. We have prayed all these things in the name of the True Parents. Amen.

If there were a true being in heaven and earth, who would it be? It would be the absolute being. In modern Korean, when we refer to the Absolute Being, we say, "There is only One." We shorten that to Hana-nim (God), where Hana means "One."

Then, what kind of being is God? God likes both the good people and the bad people on earth. Even a condemned criminal going to his place of execution says, "God, have mercy on me" before he dies. In front of God, even those who are facing the death penalty for their crimes resolve to become good again and to make a new start with hope. Why is it that, in so doing, they want to offer their best service to God, depend on Him, and be with Him? Why, in their innermost heart, do people willingly leave their parents, and brothers and sisters, wanting to be closest to God in order to share their personal concerns with Him? This is because God is true.

A true person should not just like people who like him. He should like even his enemies who would wish him dead. A true person should be someone that every person can entrust everything to and discuss everything with. He should be someone in whom people can place their hopes for everything.

While you were growing up, there was probably someone you hated. Is a person who hates another person a true person or false person? Surely, he is a false person. In this world, there are many false people.

The one who wishes to be a true person must balance both sides. If there are members of the Unification Church who really like the people who like them, yet actively hate those who hate them, are they a good group or a bad group? They are a bad group.

Therefore, let us like even those who hate us. If you like someone who hates you, he will also come to like you. If three times or more, you act kindly towards someone who hates you, he will bow his head. Just treat such a person nicely three times, and you will win him over. Try it yourself and see if I am right or not. People have a conscience which tells them whether they are right or wrong. (39-302, 1971.1.16)

Our country has many good people and there are many wonderful people in the world. There are also many people of renown. Then, who are the great people of Korea? When we speak of a great person in Korea, we usually talk about Admiral Yi Soon-shin. He is a great man. You all like Admiral Yi, but do you think he is a true person? We do not know, but we still admire him. However, I do not admire him so much. When I say this, you may think, "This is strange. Why is he like that? He does not like one of our national patriots! Is Rev. Moon a communist or a traitor to our people?" In answer, I will tell you why I do not admire Admiral Yi. All Koreans know Admiral Yi as a patriot, but Japanese people think of Admiral Yi as an enemy. This is mentioned even in Japanese history books. Admiral Yi is an enemy from the viewpoint of the Japanese and a patriot for Koreans. This is why I do not like him.

That which is true must be true everywhere: in Britain, in Germany, in America, in Korea, in Africa, and also in Japan. Something that is true has no enemies. There is no one that dislikes something true. If something is liked from one side and disliked from the other, it cannot be perfectly true.

If Admiral Yi were a perfectly true person, Japanese and Koreans alike would honor him as a great man and true person. But looking from the standard of the true person, Admiral Yi is not a perfectly true person, although he might be a true person to a lesser degree. He is a true person in Korea, but not in Japan. I am sure there is no disagreement on this. Since I want to see a true person, I do not like someone who is less than a true person such as Admiral Yi.

Then in this world, what kind of person is a true person? As I said earlier, he is someone who is liked by both bad people and good people. If he is liked most by good people, should bad people hate him the most? He must be liked the most by bad people as well. Although there is a mixture of good people and bad people here, all people desire the best things. If we say that all people like something, we mean that not only good people but also bad people like it as well. So, if some people who are considered bad do not like a certain thing, it means that it is not a true thing. True things are those that should be liked the most not only by good people but by bad people as well. This is the definition of a true person. A true person is one whom bad people as well as good people like the most. Someone like this is a true person. (39-300, 1971.1.16)

The Existence of Human Beings in the Physical and Spirit Worlds - Our highest path in life

What should be our life path? It is the path of possessing God's love. Possessing God's love is life's highest and final destination. Everyone, men and women alike, must go this way. Our life path must lead us to the infinite God of love. The greatest life path consists of finding God's love by crossing over the peaks of death tens and even hundreds of times, and continuing in that search even after death.

What is the endpoint of our desires? It is the possession of God's love. Even if we say we occupy God, if we cannot possess the more precious and true love within Him, God cannot be ours. Thus, we need to possess God's love. If we only possess God's love, then it will be all right even if He is not present. When His love becomes mine and mine becomes His, the internal and the external become one for the first time. A nation based on such love becomes an ideal homeland without upper and lower classes.

When we lie in that place of love, we feel that there is nothing under the sun that does not appear good and that does not exist for our sake. Since God's love is like that, the heavenly world, which is humankind's destination, namely the Kingdom of Heaven, is a place filled with such love. (39-210, 1971.1.10)

Prayer: Please Allow Our Meeting to Be Centered On Heaven

Beloved Father! The flow of past history was sorrowful at times and happy at times. Each time we think that heaven's sorrow is dwelling in the center of a mind which others don't know, we realize how continuously inadequate we have been as we relate to you.

Father! This relationship of your having met us has not been formed through our efforts; it is due to the merit of millions of generations of ancestors which laid a bridge and broadened and broadened its foundation. Please allow us to be able to feel grateful for all the grace you have given to let us have a day when we could meet you like this today.

In a place where people gather together and part again, people are subjected to criticism, and we can see that divisions occur, but we must understand that in a place where people meet centered on heaven only awe, gratitude and tears remain.

Please let your children who are gathered here clearly realize that it will not do unless they feel more compassion for God deep in the center of their minds, and they love God who is our father. Please allow us to become sons and to become daughters who offer our minds and bodies in order to love you as though we were crazy and who are able to be grateful even if we sacrifice everything, and about whom you can feel joy when you look at us.

As you searched for him, how much did you long for that one and only son to whom you could give all your love and about whom you could be proud before all people?

Now our impatient selves are advancing step by step towards your internal character; therefore it will not do unless we become those who are waiting for the time that you call us to hurry and come to you. Please absolutely don't let us ever become sons and daughters who avoid suffering and worry that suffering may come.

We know well that if there was a history of suffering there was without fail a mistake between the people there. Please allow us to realize clearly that when you were doing well behind the scenes but humankind made a mistake, heaven was sorrowful every time, and stood in a position where it could not help but be in anguish.

Humankind must never overturn the blessings of the whole which heaven seeks to give due to making a mistake or having cooperated together and determining together. Knowing this kind of truth, we earnestly hope that you will allow us to become sons and daughters who are able to determine ourselves. We have humbly prayed all these things in the name of our True Parents. Amen.

The First Training for Blessed Women

"The Kingdom of Heaven has suffered violence, and men of violence take it by force," means that we should preach the Gospel to the end of the world, untiringly.

Many a blessed women from 120 areas across the country gathered together at the Central Training Center on April 28th. 832 members who have been witnessing for 5 months since last December 1970 were happy to share friendship and exchange their experiences in local areas.

Through the training for 10 days until May 8th, the women were strengthened by studying the Principles and exchanging their ideas for better witnessing.

At the meeting, Master emphasized again saying, "To restore the nation, let us do our best and carry out our mission completely."

During the training, there were fellowship meetings with Japanese families, an anti-communist movie and the testimony of a Buddhist nun, Yoon Chungjungshim who is as a famous Buddhist prophet. All the women returned to their mission fields with joy and dedication on May 10th.
