The Way of Restoration

Through the fall, we have inherited the blood lineage of Satan, If there had been no fall, Adam and Eve, as our first parents, would have been sinless children of God, but they became Satan's children through the fail. Originally dominion should have come only from God, and God alone should be our Lord: However, because man and Satan had an illicit relationship, Satan became illicit lord over man. As the Principle tells us, love has controlling power. Even though it was through illicit love, Satan came to have power or authority through which he could claim ownership of man. Yet according to the principle of creation, God is still the original Lord. Therefore, both God and Satan claim their owner-ship of man.

However, it is physically impossible to cut Adam into two and divide him between God and Satan. Therefore, God had to set up a certain rule in accordance with the Principle in order to separate man into two. God is the internal being and creation is the external being, and they are in the relationship of subject and object. From this standpoint God could separate fallen Adam and Eve into two through the two children who were born from them. He set up the second son, Abel, in the internal position, representing sinless Adam.

Symbolically, Abel is the fruit of the second illicit love, between Adam and Eve, in the course of the fall; being close to the relatively less evil relationship between Adam and Eve than to the purely unprincipled relationship between Eve and the archangel and holding fewer evil elements than did Cain, Abel could be taken to God's side. On the other hand, God found Cain in the external position, representing Satan. Symbolically, Cain is the fruit of the first illicit love between Eve and the archangel in the course of the fall, and inherits the satanic elements within that love.

The original order of love

The original order of love begins with God, goes to Adam, and then to the archangel. For this order to be restored, love must flow first from God to Abel representing Adam, and from Abel to Cain representing the archangel. God could restore His lost Principle by accomplishing this formula first. Actually the blood lineage was crossed by the act of the fall. In other words, the human race came to be in Satan's blood lineage instead of God's. Therefore, restoration must be done by tracing back to the origin. For this purpose, the second son, Abel, was to restore the birthright from the first son, who could hold the birthright illicitly in Satan's unprincipled dominion.

Cain had to go down to the position of the second son, and Abel had to go up to the position of the first son where he could inherit the birthright. However, Cain killed Abel, This act was a repetition of the act of the fall at the time of Adam and Eve. Contrary to the intended course of restoration, it signified again that the archangel stood in the position to dominate Adam.

Cain and Abel received evil elements when they were within Eve's womb. If God were to use two brothers who were very different in age, their distance from each other would be too far; so God sought closer brothers. In other words, God had to carry out this dispensation of restoration on a level closer to the cause. The best way would be to bring the lives of Cain and Abel back into the mother's womb, but that is physically impossible. So, God's dispensation came to appear through twin brothers. Esau and Jacob. Jacob had to be restored to the position of elder brother, while Esau had to go down to the position of younger brother. It is the same principle that was applied in the case of Cain and Abel. The mother of these twin brothers was Rebecca. While she was pregnant, the two children struggled with each other in her womb. When she inquired of the Lord about this, the Lord replied,

Two nations are in your womb, and two peoples, born of you, shall be divided; the one shall be stronger than the other, the older shall serve the younger. (Gen. 25:23)

This is what God Himself spoke.

Once Jacob had set conditions whereby he could avoid accusation, he could buy the birthright from Esau with lentil stew. Even though Jacob took the birthright from Esau, Satan could not accuse him. Thus, the birthright was restored to God's side. The blessing from their father, Isaac, was also given to Jacob. However, Esau became so angry that he tried to kill Jacob, just as Cain had killed Abel. For this reason, Jacob had to escape to the land of Haran for 21 years.

In the Garden of Eden, Eve initiated the act of the fall, becoming the mother of Adam who completed it. Mother and son cooperated with each other to bring about the fall of man. Therefore, in restoration, this process must be reversed. At the time of Jacob, therefore, the mother Rebecca and her second son Jacob cooperated with each other for the accomplishment of God's will.

Also, during the process of the fall, Eve lied to her father, God, and to her brother, Adam. Therefore, in restoration Rebecca lied to her husband, Isaac, and to the first son, Esau, in order to allow Jacob to gain the blessing. Isaac was in-God's position, and his son Esau was in Cain's position. In this way a foundation was laid.

However, substantial restoration had not been accomplished yet. By that time Jacob's mother had already fulfilled her mission, and next it was Jacob's turn, Jacob's mission was first to restore the position of Adam, which had been invaded by the archangel, and then to restore the position of Abel, who had been killed by Cain.

Struggle at the ford of Jabbok

To understand the mission of Jacob in restoring Adam, it is important to understand how Adam was lost. By whom was Adam dominated? He was dominated by the angel, Therefore, in order to restore that position, Jacob had to fight with an angel , This is what happened at the ford of Jabbok. Jacob fought with the angel all night, As a result, the angel admitted Jacob's victory and blessed him. Thus, the original positions of Adam and the archangel were restored to their proper order. Why did the angel strike Jacob's thigh before he blessed him? The fall of man was brought about through the misuse of the lower parts. The law of indemnity was fulfilled by striking the part that had become sinful. It was carried out by the angel according to the law of the Old Testament: An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth." Because Jacob endured, the angel could bless him.

When Jacob won over the angel, he gained the internal victory and Adam's position could be restored, With this condition Jacob was then in the position to restore Abel's position. After 21 years Jacob returned from Haran and gave all his property and wealth as a gift to his brother Esau in order to soften his heart. Jacob asked only for a blessing from his elder brother, and Esau accepted and welcomed him.

Thus, Esau went down to the position of younger brother, and :Jacob went up to the position of elder brother. Later, when Jacob blessed his grandchildren, the children of Joseph, he crossed his hands and put his left hand--signifying the archangel's position and blessing-- on the first son, Manasseh, and his right hand--signifying God's position and blessing--on the second son, Ephraim, Jacob could do so because he had taken the position of the elder brother on the side of God.

According to the Bible, Jacob's character seems to be very cunning. Many people wonder why God used and even gave His grace and blessing to such a cunning man, The Principle gives the answer: in this way, Jacob stood in the position where he fulfilled his mission given by God, These events took place thousands of years ago, but until the Principle was revealed no one had ever known their true meaning. Suppose God's dispensation had ended with Jacob. If that had been the case, only people at ,or above the age of Jacob at the time of his victory could be restored by this condition, but people under that age, from the newly born to the middle aged, could not have been. Therefore, a more thoroughgoing dispensation had to begin, centering on the mother's womb itself.

Thus, God's third dispensation again began within the mother's womb. The first mother, Eve, fell, abandoning God the Father through disbelief, and instead she welcomed Satan as her father and put him in the position of God. Therefore, Tamar, who had to restore the position of; Eve, had to demonstrate absolute faith in God. In a reverse way Tamar had to walk with God the Father, She had to forget about her pride and honor, even being ready to give her life, Originally, Eve could not become one with her Father. Judah was Tamar's father-in-law, having the role of father. In Chapter 38 of Genesis it is recorded that Judah had three sons and Tamar was the wife of his first son. However, the first son died, and according to the custom of levirate marriage in Judea, she had to have a child through the second son. But the second son also died, and the third son was withheld as too young. Tamar intuited how important it was to inherit the blood lineage restored by God, so she threw away her pride and risked her life to become pregnant by Judah, her father-in-law. She pretended to be a prostitute sitting by the side of the road where. her father-in-law was passing, and tempted him into a relationship.

Judah did not realize that this prostitute was his daughter-in-law. But Tamar was wise, and she requested three articles--Judah's seal, his staff and a cord--as a pledge for payment, which she could use later as proof. Why did she have to do so? Because, according to the Jewish law at that time, a widow who became pregnant without having a husband could be stoned to death.

After some months, Tamar's pregnancy became noticeable, Rumor spread and it reached Judah's ears as well. Judah got very angry and took his daughter-in-law to be burned to death, At this critical moment, Tamar presented the articles of proof to the people and Judah realized that her motivation to continue God's lineage was righteous, so he released her. Tamar risked her life in order to fulfill her mission. She had no purpose other than to fulfill God's will. In this way, Tamar set the condition to restore fallen Eve's position by reversing the process of Eve's fall. For thousands of years up until now, no one has ever known the secret of this story except God. Yet now, you can understand this hidden mystery clearly.

The struggle within the womb

Like Rebecca, Tamar became pregnant with twins who fought within her womb. When Tamar prayed, the Lord must have appeared and said the same thing he had said to Rebecca, "Two nations are in your womb, and two people within you will be separated! one people will be stronger than the other, and the elder will serve the younger." For 6,000 biblical years God had been waiting for that very moment. The time of birth came and the first son, Zerah, pushed out his hand. The midwife tied a scarlet thread around his wrist. This was a symbolical prediction that in the time of the Last Days communism, a satanic ideology, represented by the color red, would appear first before God's kingdom is established. After 7,000 biblical years--6,000 years of restoration history plus the millennium, the time of completion--communism will fail in its 70th year. Here is the meaning of the year 1978. Communism begun in 1917, could maintain itself approximately 60 years and reach its peak. So 1978 is the border line and afterward communism will decline; in the 70th year it will be altogether ruined. This is true. Therefore, now is the time for people who are studying communism to abandon it.

Finally, during the struggle in Tamar's womb, the second son, Perez, pushed Zerah back and came out first. This reversal of the brothers positions took Place in the mother's womb. At this time the principle that Jesus would be born from the lineage of Judah was established.

From this time Cain was overcome and Abel was exalted, and restoration history could progress to increasingly larger spheres, from family to clan, from clan to race, from race to nation, However, the satanic world had already expanded in parallel fashion--from the family level to the clan and racial levels, and finally to the national level. Satan had already formed one nation, but God had to wait 2,000 years before the chosen people of Israel could be formed into one nation. Thus, both God's and Satan's camps advanced to the national level, but now God's nation had to become superior to Satan's nation. However, the people of Israel had made many mistakes in the course of history from the family level to the levels of clan, race and nation.

John the Baptist came with the mission to restore all the failures made by the people of Israel, so that the Messiah could come on a perfected foundation. The chosen people of Israel who became one with John the Baptist became a plus (+) force as Abel, and Jesus came as Messiah upon this foundation. John the Baptist was in Cain s position relative to Jesus in Abel's position. Once the people of Israel became completely one with Jesus Christ himself, he could have formed an absolute plus (+).

Then the people would stand in the position of absolute minus (-), and together with Jesus would have become one indestructible body. God's dispensation reaches its peak of completion at the point of True Parents, who are the absolute plus (+) and absolute minus (-). Jesus was crucified, so that he was unable to become a True Parent in his physical body. Although God's blood lineage had been established with Jesus, the position of True Parents in spirit and in flesh could not emerge. The work of Christianity is limited to the spiritual realm alone; it brought only spiritual salvation. Physical salvation, namely the salvation of the physical life, has not been realized.

Up until today, Christianity had only a spiritual father and a spiritual mother. Therefore, True Parents had to come on earth, and we must walk the course of physical, as well as spiritual, rebirth through them. Conditionally, or symbolically, we must re-enter the mother's womb in order to be born anew. In Christianity up until today, the Holy Spirit has been taking the role of mother. We are born again on the spiritual level through the mother, the Holy Spirit, and the father's spirit, Jesus' spirit.

Of course, we were born from our mother's womb. However, even beyond the womb, our life originated from our father's seed. Before the fall, the life of a son or daughter would certainly have started from within Adam's body, as one seed. The seed which becomes a son or a daughter exists within the father's body itself. By tracing back to mother's womb, the blood lineage could be changed and restored, but we have not reached father yet. Therefore, up until today, Christians have been longing to go again to their Father, the Lord of the Second Coming, who is the origin, of new life.

Reborn in both spirit and flesh

We cannot be satisfied with spiritual rebirth only. We must be reborn both in spirit and in flesh. In order to restart in spirit and in flesh, we must go back to the position of the seed. To accomplish this dispensation, Jesus promised that a bride and a bridegroom would appear who could become True Parents, so that we could become the seed sown again through them, to be born again as a new life in this world. From what I have said, you will naturally understand whether or not it is necessary for the Lord of the Second Coming to come on earth as Messiah.

At the time of Jesus, this physical world was not restored, yet it has expanded up to the world level. Accordingly, in the Last Days, the while world is divided into two, one side representing Satan: and the other God; nothing other than these two camps exists. There is confusion and chaos. The Messiah on earth must inherit the foundation from Christians, Christians have not been born completely yet; therefore, we can say that they are just like a seed in Jesus' body, They have only spiritual elements 05 life, Therefore, a father must appear on earth and create a substantial , physical foundation.

For this reason, everybody has a seven-year course in which he or she has to unite with True Father before receiving Mother. You must so back to the position of a seed in the body of unfallen, perfected Adam who was not yet married. You must go back to the source itself. This seed is the genuine one. A seed that starts from Adam's body must be sown in the womb of restored Eve. This very work is being done by the Unification Church. Jesus was rejected by the nation of Israel. Therefore, the very difficult task of restoring the position of Jesus was left for the Lord of the Second Coming.

We have already been born with flesh and have grown up, so we cannot literally go back to the position of a seed. Therefore, we must set conditions for rebirth by uniting with the True Children, who were born from True Parents. The Principle teaches that both Cain and Abel can be restored when Cain completely follows Abel: We are in the position of Cain and must unite with the sinless True Children, who are in Abel position. By uniting with them, we can become restored children and receive the same grace. Accordingly, when sinless children are born from True Parents, we should offer food and things of creation in order to set the condition by which True Parents can share the same elements with us. In this way we must pass through the course where we participate in the position of the True Children.

Through whom are you going to set conditions to become one with True Children and become newly born? Father alone is not enough. You must go through both of the True Parents, However important Father may be, you must also pass through True Mother and unite with the True Children. True Parents have both male and female children. A woman should become one with True Father, True Mother, and their female children; a man should become one with True Parents and their male children.

Because a woman fell first, the restoration of woman is done first, Afterward, the restoration of man is completed. Who is actually in the position of the first restored woman? The first female child born from True Parents is in that position. The first male child is the second child of True Parents. This is only an outline and a very brief explanation; there are very deep and complicated processes behind it.

The birth of sinless children

The heavenly four position foundation was restored for the first time in history by the birth of sinless true children. Nothing in the satanic world can touch this foundation.

Since a chosen nation has not yet been restored, we must start from the heavenly four position foundation, and develop from this point to the clan, racial and national levels. The central core of this process of development is the heavenly family in the form of the four position foundation.

The nation that will be established on the foundation of the true family will be the strongest and most invincible. :This is the nation that Judaism could not gain 2 ,000 years ago. This nation will become the center of the external world by overcoming all satanic sovereignties. Once one heavenly nation is restored, it will expand to two, then three, four, and finally it will cover the entire world. People who belong to those heavenly nations will naturally restore everything together. In order to restore this unified sovereignty of God, we must pass through an incredible course. Unless we restore one national sovereignty, however much restoration work we may have done, it is possible that our earthly foundation might be destroyed by a satanic head of government of our nation. Therefore, to restore the sovereignty of one nation is a most urgent task.

For this purpose we must absolutely become one with True Parents, and we must become completely one with members of the Unification Church in Korea, Japan, and all over the world, Through this course, you will realize how difficult the path of restoration has been, Jesus said to Nicodemus, "...Unless one is born anew, he cannot enter the Kingdom of God." Nicodemus replied, "How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother's womb and be born?" Then Jesus asked, "Are you a teacher of Israel, and Yet you do not understand this!"

At that time Jesus was talking about this very principle. The words `resurrection' and 'rebirth' in Christianity both actually refer to this same principle. Through the womb of a mother the stained blood lineage was restored to the heavenly blood lineage. However, it is only through True Father's body that we can ultimately be recreated and reborn fundamentally as a pure new life. From that point of new creation on, then, our salvation is perfected by redemption of both spirit and flesh, This way, our children will be able to attain heaven without going through the process of salvation.

You must understand how difficult the course of restoration is. I have not only found out the truth, but have had to accomplish all the truth in substance. Now I am teaching it to you for nothing. You are like college students who receive diplomas without doing anything. Therefore, you must understand what a precious valuable position you have.

This year's motto for the Unification Church is "The Defense of the Unified Front." This means that we must defend and protect this heavenly foundation. Wherever you are, you must become one with the members of the Unification Church in Korea, and go forward to defend the unified front there, Looking at the situation of the entire world, Korea is a country where the strongest foundation is laid in our activities. If we had to start a new dispensation in some other country, we would have to repeat the entire course once again from the very beginning. The period until 1974, when the second seven-year course ends, is a period corresponding to Jacob's second seven-year course. After this period we will create the foundation of the world level, and we will have enough economic power for the restoration of the Heavenly Kingdom. Once one nation is restored, all nations can be restored.

One God, One World Religion

When you look at the chaos in the world around you I believe most of you wonder, "Where are we going? What is this world heading towards?" Today I think that even the free, democratic world has come to an end. We can see the division in the communistic world as well. There is trouble ahead for it. These problems of the world seem beyond our power to solve, in the free world or in the world that is enslaved. No one man can say he has the solution for the problems we are facing. How happy we would be then, if in these circumstances, we had an Almighty God with us to resolve the chaos. If God exists and He is Almighty, He could be our guide out of these complexities. However, I do not think that many people understand or experience the existence of God. Even among Christian ministers and leaders, there are many who do not understand. It is ignorance of God's existence and of His nature that leads many nations to follow the path to corruption and eventual destruction. So the most important thing is to understand that existence, to view His nature as reflected in creation and as further revealed at this critical time in history. We are seeking one world religion with the hope of solving man kind's problems. If there is a God, He will use man as a partner to solve those problems. Man is important to God's existence. Let us examine these points.

If we consider this world as a literary work, the author who master minded it can be regarded as its internal cause, the source of its energy. In order for something to exist, energy is required. There can be no existence without energy. Going back one step further, for energy itself to exist, some kind of dynamic action is necessary. However, action cannot occur by itself in an isolated manner. It is through the give and take relationship between subject and object that action is produced.

When a subject-object relationship exists, for instance between a man and a woman, there is interaction or give and take between them. However, the subject and object do not interact without a specific purpose. They only interact when it involves some mutual advantage. They seek to derive some benefit from their interaction, to raise their positions, and to gain from the interaction, certainly not to lower their positions or incur a loss. Think of the people who walk the streets of any busy city today. There is not one among them who has left his home to lose something. All have come to seek something which will benefit them.

It is the same with a man and a woman. If they know that by uniting they will lose more than they will gain, they will not unite. If they expect mutual benefit, however, they will unite. If they can increase their value infinitely by so doing, they will unite or remain united eternally. Everything, then, exists on the foundation of energy produced through interaction, or give and take. Subject and object unite and become one in order to produce positive results or mutual gain. This colossal, massive universe was thus created from small units by continuous subject-object relationships and continued interaction. It was created on the principle that two elements, subject and object, benefit through give and take. This is the most fundamental principle of creation.

Now let us think about God. This principle of give and take must operate for Him also. If God existed without an object to hear Him or see Him, without any object to relate to, He would be isolated. He would be without the interaction that characterizes all things in existence. But if God does have an object and moves in relation to it, then He is comprehensible. He is consistent with the image of Himself written into His work of creation.

Like an author who accomplishes some creative work, He is filled with joy if the result meets or exceeds His expectation. Parents rejoice when their child responds to the affection and effort they invest in him. If man takes such delight in creating and interacting with the objects of his creation, wouldn't God do likewise? Indeed, He feels joy when His creation responds to Him, recognizes and glorifies Him. God cannot fulfill His ideal if He exists or works alone, Let us consider, then, what or who His object might be.

What would be the most fitting object for God? Surely, man, who has the capacity to be most like God. But since there are many kinds of people, who among them would He desire as His object? A high ranking officer? Someone who is in a high position? God would have the best man whom He could find, someone who met His conditions. We see examples of such selectivity in our own lives -- in our choice of friends and colleagues and also in the choice of a marriage partner every man desires the most perfect woman and every woman, the most eligible man. This characteristic is innate in man. So if God desires the best person as His object. To be able to stand before God who is Absolute, man must also be Absolute.

Man has a definite purpose for his actions. God must have a definite purpose for His actions too -- specifically, for creating man. There must be a point of convergence where God's purpose and man's purpose meet. There must be a place where they can find greater mutual advantage in uniting. Since God created man as His highest object, man had to be created with the desire to reach that highest position. That desire operates through the conscience of man. Each man has within him, dulled though it may be, the desire to be the highest object to God and even more, the desire to possess Him. This is man's innate nature -- to monopolize God. Do you think that God dislikes this? On the contrary, it pleases Him! Man is His creation and He wants him to be one with Him. Without such desire man would not make the necessary effort. Also innate in man is the desire to control the world. This too is necessary or man would not strive to become the channel of God's power, which is another aspect of his destiny. Suppose that you came to possess God with your mind, that is, you came to understand that He exists and how He manifests Himself in creation. It would mean nothing if you could not also have His love because our Ideal cannot be realized without love. In what position, then, would you have to be to have God's full love?

Suppose you are a man and know that God has a son. You would want to be that son. You would want to have God as a father, as your father. That is the goal of man, however humble he may be. The ultimate goal is not the position of adopted son or son-in-law (or adopted daughter or daughter-in-law) but that of son or daughter of God. The highest position that man desires, God is able to give, so God must be able to give us the position of True Son or True Daughter. This is the position In which the love of God and the love of man unite. Now happy you will be if you discover the way to reach that position. If you could find it. you would not need anyone to show you the way. But if I can teach you, you will come with me!

This description of man's goal is quite brief but to reach this truth I struggled in revelation and spiritual communication for many years. Suddenly the realization came to me that the goal that all men seek, with or without awareness, is a Father-son relationship with God. I am not referring to the relationship you may have had with your own earthly father. I am referring to the original concept of God's creation, where God is Father. No one has reached this goal or tasted this love. Yet the incredible truth is that God has prepared Sonship for us.

But the personality of the children of God is not as you may think. I am not talking about a fallen man but a man not separated from God, a man with whom God can move and act. Two people who love each other do not stand still, separated from each other. They move about together; the object becomes the second "I". From that point of unity and oneness, hope grows. Then in that relationship of oneness and love, God becomes almighty and man becomes God's son or daughter.

This is one aspect or level of man's position but a higher level can be attained. A father-child relationship is a vertical -- a superior-subordinate relationship, whereas the child's desire is to be in the same position as his father. God knows this and it is His desire too. For then He can live in oneness with man. If you become one with Him, you have to accommodate Him somehow. Where will that be? Your relationship with Him is personal and private. Where will it be safe? You don't want to be separated from Him -- how can you have Him with you? You can keep Him in your heart, your mind! Living within you, He becomes the center of your mind and you become His temple. The relationship between God and man is like mind and body. God desired to be the mind and created the first man to be His body.

But attainment of this equal position or oneness with God is still not the ultimate. Even though you had a Father-son or daughter relationship and have become one with Him, you would desire more. You would want to have God's power to create and for this too, He has provided. He wants us to taste the joy He tasted at the creation of man. We inherit His creative ability and lordship over all creation when, by the power of love. We become one with Him. Let us examine this concept further.

In Genesis 1:27 we read "So God created man in His own image, in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." What kind of being, then, is God? From this passage we can infer that within Himself there is the essence of man and the essence of woman; and these two become one. Within Him these essences interact with each other and creation occurs. At some point in creation, God projected His subject nature into creation and there emerged the substantial being, man. And His object nature resulted in the substantial being, woman.

Why did God create them as separate beings? He wanted them to achieve perfection as individuals and to receive God's love as son and daughter. Then, when united, they would resemble God and together stand in the object position to Him. He as subject, and man and woman as object, could then have an eternal give and take action between them. What was to be the binding force between man and woman? Love, What was to be the binding force between God and united man and woman? Love. Without love, nothing can be truly united into one. The essence of the ideal is love. The essence of unity is love. By love we are united with God and then inherit His creative ability and lordship over creation. It is from this that man and woman can create children, as He created them.

Everything God has, He has without reservation given to us. We are loved as the son or daughter of God. The son and daughter have the power to create children as the fruit of their love. And all of this is united in the one love of God. That love has three aspects: parental love, the love of husband and wife and children's love. Man is meant to experience these loves in his life on earth. This is the fundamental principle for attaining happiness. It is according to man's nature to have parents, a husband or wife, and children. If a man and woman establish this foundation through the family according to God's ideal, God must dwell with them. Here God and man become one and this family can be the foundation for God to establish His ideal world.

God's love is eternal, ultimate and absolute. Therefore, once you become His object, you must also be eternal, ultimate and absolute. Even in this earthly world, love is described as eternal, never changing, ever lasting. Love is not your own. It belongs to God. It belongs to your partner or to others in the object position. Unless you have God, unless you have an object, no love exists. Many people today consider love to be their own. This is a wrong and selfish point of view. Absolute love comes through your object, through your partner. Love is giving and the ultimate giving is love. We need the ultimate object to form a give and take relationship of love. We need our children. This idea has been lost. This God-centered relationship has been lost.

We know that God exists for a purpose. That purpose can be realized through the reciprocal relationship of subject and object, with man in the object position. Is there anyone who can say that he is in that position? No, man was created for that purpose but because of the fall he has become divided. No one can say that his physical body follows the direction of his conscience perfectly. So man's life is a continuous battle between the conscience which directs us to goodness and our physical desires which often incline us toward evil. And good and evil cannot co-exist in harmony. Where has our goal of happiness gone? Therefore he has lost his subject. God become a wanderer in the wilderness. And the phenomenon of division within man is also manifested in the world. The world is divided under two ideologies, one a God-accepting ideology, the other a God-denying ideology.

Then who can solve this problem? There is one who can solve it, God. If we can experience His existence and bring Him to earth, then the problems will be solved. We say that man has fallen but what does that mean? It means that he has lost his original position, he is out of his proper order. Since the fall, the work of God has been that of restoring fallen man to his original state of sonship. The human mind belongs to God. But our flesh has been taken by evil and is a channel to evil. That is why conscientious men of history have chastised their bodies. They knew that the body is under the law of sin.

We must clearly know the ways of good and evil. If you have ten friends and serve them by sacrificial giving, they will remain with you. They will invite others to meet you. So your goodness, your unreserved giving will bring more friends and prosperity. But on the contrary, if this man says in effect, "I am your Lord -- serve me!" the ten friends will go away. Only one will remain, the man himself. And he will eventually deny himself. Can you think of any saint or great man in history who pushed himself forward and glorified himself with that selfish point of view? No one would do that. But when you give your utmost, your friends will not only love and serve you, they will want you as the center of their group. They will want you as their master. They will be willing to be led by that man who gives so much to them. With evil it is the opposite. The friends are afraid of being controlled by that man. They want to stay away from him. Good always insists: mine is yours, yours belongs to a higher level, such as nation: the nation belongs to the world, the world belongs to God. Then, that God is mine. But evil emphasizes: yours is mine and mine is mine, too. We must know these two forces. We must know that an evil ideology exists.

In fallen man two opposites are battling each other. If two such people unite to form a family, not two, but four different directions will emerge. If ten people live together, twenty directions will come about. In this way the unhappy world of disunity was brought about. If God left man in this state and did nothing to help him, we could hardly admit the existence of God. God cannot leave man in that state. Therefore, He has provided a repair shop, a clinic. What is it that can correct and repair man's defects? It is religion. All religions teach us to return to God. Due to the fall, man lost his relationship with God. Without restoring that, man cannot return to his original position. Through these religions God has been guiding man to His goal, which is also man's goal. God gave man many different religions according to his tradition, culture and varied circumstances. Man has the knowledge and ability to compare and discern the superior from the inferior.

Religion began from a primitive state, and subsequently developed to higher and higher states. The world today can be divided into four major cultural spheres, and each sphere was formed by one major religion. This means that God has four great repair shops on earth. These four religions are: Christianity, Confucianism, Buddhism and Islam. The founders are respectively, Jesus, Confucius., Buddha and Mohammed. Some of you would include Socrates. He is a wise man. He is a man of knowledge. But you cannot reform man's life with knowledge alone. Only God gives life. The founders of the four main religions centered their ideology on God, or a God-like Supreme Being. In the latter part of the Twentieth Century, many ideologies which deny the existence of God are spreading throughout the world. This is a strange phenomenon. But it has happened because the adherents haven't found an ideology that can convince them, that can give then experience of God. If they are taught something superior they would follow that. The mission of religious people is to find that ideology which can surpass atheism or agnosticism. and enable them to experience God and teach it to the people. Not many founders and religious workers are holding fast to their own religion, often to keep their position and prestige. Then, when God looks around, He finds that He is unable to work through these inadequately prepared religious people.

The function of the world religions is to transcend the national boundary, race and creed. They must focus on the world. Many times political leaders throughout history have persecuted and condemned religion, and religious leaders. But still through thousands of years, religion has persisted. It has served to enlighten mankind. But, why should there be four? (And sometimes four battling each other.) There is one God. There should be one religion. Eventually, there will be one world religion, one that transcends all four major religions that exist today and meets the requirements of man today. When I established this new teaching, most religious leaders objected to and persecuted the movement. But before objecting to and persecuting it, they should have studied its contents. We must find and select the one which is highest and closest to God. Then, which among the religious teachings is this one?

Because of the fall, man, the highest creation, fell far below his original position. The original concept of man was as the son of God. But he fell to a position even lower than that of servant of God. The different religions take different paths. There is a religion which brings man to the position of servant. There is a religion which brings man to the position of adopted son. There is a religion which brings man to the position of True son. Then, finally, there will be a religion which brings man to true parenthood. Confucius taught of the concrete conscience of heaven in the moral life. Buddha taught of the spiritual world and its laws; but he did not realize that God is a God of personality. The Muslims have the Old Testament as their source, but in teaching their faith they hold the book in one hand and a sword in the other. That is not God's method. He does not want people to use violence to save man. Man needs a religion and a savior because of the fall. If there had been no fall, we would be perfected in God's love, be one with God, produce God's children, live in heaven on earth, and then pass into the Kingdom of Heaven in spirit world. The consequences of the fall are hell. Hell necessitates a savior and a religion.

I understand that San Francisco is a mysterious and wonderful city. It is particularly near the Orient and so new things begin here. We hear such terms as a New Age, New Frontier, and the End of the World. How can you distinguish what is really meant by those words? The term New Age reflects what is happening. The providence of God is progressing. There are several stages in that process and every stage begins as a New Age. For instance, a New Age began when man progressed from servant to adopted son; another began when he moved from adopted son to true sonship, and the present New Age as he passes from sonship to parenthood and lord of creation.

What then are the criteria for identifying the central religion of the New Age? That religion must have the original concept of creation. In other words, it must show us clearly what the destiny of man is and how to reach that destiny. The conditions necessary for man to fulfill his destiny, to become the highest object are: to have a Father-son relationship with God, to become one with God as His temple, to share the joy of creation in bearing children and having lordship over creation. Jesus is the only one who claimed "I am the only begotten son of God!" He is the one man in history who declared himself the son of God. He is the one who could see through God's creation and find the original concept.

We know that because of the fall, the first man, Adam, never fully tasted the love of God. However, Jesus came as the perfected Adam, to receive God's love. And so it is written, "The first man, Adam, was made a living soul; the last man Adam was made a quickening spirit." (I Corinthians 15:45). Jesus is described as the second Adam. Therefore, as a man, he became the first True Son of God. Furthermore, he became one with God. In John 14:20 he says, "I am in my Father and you in me and I in you." This is a state of oneness. He also said, "He who has seen me has seen the Father." In other words, God is the inner God, and I am the external God. Jesus was saying, I am the visible form or manifestation of God. Thirdly, Jesus sought a bride with whom he could reign over God's creation. He came to establish the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. To establish the kingdom, he had first to form a nation. To establish a nation, he needed a tribe. To establish a tribe it was necessary to have a family. Without a family it was not possible to establish God's nation. Therefore, Jesus longed to start a God-centered family. He came as a man, and man was not created to live alone. His desire was to realize his family by taking a bride.

I am sure that this is a revolutionary idea to conventional Christians. I have been a Christian for many years. However, this did not give me complete answers, so I set out in search of them. I am not originating what I teach. My statement is a responsible one and has an authentic source. My truth is from the ultimate source. Therefore, I am now here to make a declaration to the world. Jesus was a man, a true man. But there was no true woman. What would have happened if there had been? If Jesus had been accepted by the Nation of Israel and had taken a bride, he would have become the high priest of that nation -- he would have become its king. God wanted to provide a queen for him as well. If that had happened, Jesus and his forces would have conquered the Roman Empire. Instead, the Roman Empire crucified him. In the fourth century the Christian Empire conquered Rome. Now much sooner it could have happened, and how much greater it would have been, if they had Jesus as, the, living Christ here on earth. In that case. Israel would never have been dissolved. That nation would have been God's nation. If that had been the reality, there would have been no religious wars. There would have been no denominational differences. Have you ever thought that there would have been physical descendants of Jesus? They would be centered around him. Don't you think that God wanted that to happen? With Jesus as His son, He would have had His own descendants, from generation to generation!

I understand that America has been known as the melting pot of the world. What is the true tradition of America? It is not democracy. It is not freedom. Democracy and freedom are losing power. Democracy will not bring world peace. Freedom will not bring world happiness. Then what is the real tradition and backbone of America? Christianity has been the backbone, and the tradition. There must be an awakening, particularly among Christian leaders and Christian ministers. This is not the time to stress denominations. It is time for unity. He must have the Christian faith and spirit as the true tradition of America. However, that tradition is not intact. The Christian church seems to be divided more and more. Then how do we restore the lost, wandering youth? Our future depends on a new awakening. A greater faith must emerge.

God has only one world. He does not have a north world, a south world, an east and a west. To proclaim His new revelation and to restore His Kingdom, He uses human instruments. I, Sun Myung Moon, am here for this purpose, not because of my desire, but by His urging. I have never done public speaking, even in Korea. Korea is important, but to the world, America is more important.

The most obvious and logical conclusion is that Jesus came as the Messiah to restore the original concept of God's creation; namely, Sonship, oneness with God, True Parenthood and the creation of God's true children. Unless God can find one completely God-centered family as a model, there cannot be a tribe of God, a nation of God, a world of God. The Messiah came as that model man. He was to organize that model family and expand it to the world. However, this Messiah of 2000 years ago was crucified, and because of this there are many things conventional Christianity does not know.

Jesus came as the perfected man, as the first Son of God. However, the age and circumstances did not allow him to form that central family so his mission faltered and he left the promise to return. The Book of Revelations predicts the Marriage of the Lamb. This marriage is a symbolic expression of the establishment of the True Parents of mankind which Adam and Eve should have been. Jesus came to restore what they lost. When the Son of Man (the new Messiah) returns, this Marriage of the Lamb will take place -- the True Parents will be a reality. The new Messiah is coming, as the Father of mankind. He will marry and they will become the True Parents of mankind. From these True Parents a new culture, a new way of life. a new world will be established. This is the culmination of all religions. This is the ultimate destiny of human history.

An unusual event took place after World War II. All the victorious countries gave the defeated countries independence. That is a phenomenon of the New Age. It is a harbinger of the coming of the Messiah. Because the new Messiah is coming as a parent, you will be a child of the True Parents, whether you are on the winning side or that of the defeated. This equality is another harbinger of the last days.. The day of the new Messiah is the day of the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. Because it was lost on earth, it must be found on earth. Matthew 11-.8 says, "Whatever you bind on earth, shall be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." The True Parents are coming to restore the Kingdom of Heaven on earth. That kingdom will continue for eternity. This is the great day of the coming of the Lord. And salvation will be a total one. Centering on the new Messiah, the tribe, race, nation, and world salvation will come. And the new Messiah will lead the way through that gate to heaven.

ROK Founder of Holy Spirit Association, Sun Myung Moon, Claims New Revelation Needed

The 51-year-old founder of a religion claims he is a new prophet for a new age, insisting that Christianity is no longer the answer and that new revelation is needed today.

With this proclamation, Sun Myung Moon goes on to speak that today's Christianity is getting apart from its founder's intent such as by lacking in spiritual sphere although the Bible says the "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship him in spirit and truth."

Moon heads the Holy Spirit Association for the Unification of World Christianity, or better known as Tongil (Unification) Church.

He drew wide attention recently when the church put a $ 6,300 advertisement in the New York Times announcing its sponsorship of an international novel-writing contest for a $100,000 prize on "Jesus Christ and the Agony of the Cross: God's will or Man's Failure?"

On his third world tour, Moon left Korea last December for the United States via Japan and Canada. He is currently making speech tours of major U.S. cities.

The writing contest advertisement, appeared in the Jan. 28 issue of the New York Times, and confines the languages to be used for the work to six-Korean, English, German, French, Japanese and Spanish and the selection of the contestants to "the published writers."

The novels, according to the advertisement, will be accepted in 11 countries, including Korea, the United States, Britain, Japan and Italy and the prize winning novel will be made into a motion picture.

Moon held speech rallies in New York, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and plans to sponsor similar gatherings in Los Angeles, San Francisco and Berkeley.

The church claims that it has about 400,000 followers in 26 countries.

Moon, born in a village in Chongju-gun, Pyungin Pak to, now m north Korea, and graduated from Waseda University in Japan in 1943 and took refuge in the south at the height of the Korean War (1950-53).

He actively started Tongil Church work after authoring his "Divine Principle,'" claimed to be the "Key" for interpreting the Bible many of whose passages are in similitude and of symbolic, at a small house in Pukhak-dong, Songdong-gu.

The church is extremely anti-Communist and insists that the church principle is one of the few that has been so well organized and founded so as to surpass the communism in terms of theoretical point of view.

The "infantile" years of the church were not altogether smooth.

Ehwa women's University, for instance, ordered 12 students and six teachers who were going to the new church, either to take the school or the church.

This incident touched off a dispute over the religious status of the church. Moon himself was investigated by the prosecution authorities, but later was cleared of charges and freed.

The "Divine Principle" was published in book form in August 1957. According to the book, Adam and Eve sexually degraded even before they reached adulthood.

Dr. Sa Hun Shin, a noted theologian, once claimed the church is -pagan and this drew heated counterattack by the church members.

Another religious leader, Dr. Nam Dong So, however, gave an opposite view, saying that the church does not go beyond the category of modern theology.

The church was also known for sponsoring what is known to be the largest mass marriage of 777 couples in Seoul in October 1970. It also once said that a 120 story church building, to be taller than the Empire State Building, will be built at Yoido Island, Seoul, Korea.

The church also drew attention when a former Sarawak king flew into Seoul in September 1968 to meet the Tongil church founder.

The Tongil leaders say that the church is expanding far and wide, both at home and abroad, and that this will help the world to be more strongly armed against communism and eventually contribute to our efforts to have the peninsula reunified on our terms. 

The New Messiah And The Formula Of God In History

The term Messiah means savior. It is not, a pleasant matter that mankind needs a savior -- it is not a happy situation. If our ancestors had not fallen, there would have been no necessity for a savior. Because of the Fall, however, the necessity for salvation arises, If man had not fallen, we would not have to worry about heaven or hell, because we would be born, in heaven, here on earth. But such is not the case and we need the Messiah, we need a savior.

At the end of this age, we are looking forward to having the Messiah on earth. But no one is fully sure for what specific purpose he will come. No one is certain. Many people are not sure that a Messiah is necessary. There are many denominations in the Christian community which say there is no need to speak of the Lord of the Second Advent. But I say here: the Messiah must come.

When the Messiah comes, he will separate good from evil and he will lift up the good. In other words, it will be a time of judgment. His mission will be to save mankind. In order to do so, he will have to subjugate Satan, who has been the Lord of this earth. When Jesus said, "You must forgive your enemy seventy times seven," he did not mean that we must forgive our enemy Satan. He was saying that we must forgive the men who are victims of Satan. We know that God is a living God. John 3:16 says, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, and those who believe in him will not perish, but have everlasting life." Jesus is the center of God's love. Then, why is it that Satan must not be forgiven? We must discuss this problem; it is an important one.

What was the sin of Satan? Why could that particular sin not be forgiven? There are many people who believe that Satan existed together with God from the beginning -- in other words, that there are two points of origin in the universe, God and Satan. I met a famous minister in the United States who expressed this view, saying that Satan was there from the beginning. If that were true, then Satan is an original being. This leaves no hope for human salvation, because if Satan existed from the beginning, God can do nothing to rid the world of him. Then how could we expect to overcome the Satanic power? Our battle for salvation would never cease, even after reaching the spirit world. God is the center of the spirit world. Jesus fought against Satan and we must fight against him too. To have two points of origin for the universe is not a credible theory, so we must consider how Satan came into being. As long as he exists, God's work of salvation must continue and the Messiah must come. Then, we come to the conclusion that Satan came into being. The Fall of man indicates an abnormal condition, something out of order. The Fall of man was brought about by Satan, the Devil. Let's look at the true picture of Satan. The fact that no one has uncovered the true identity of Satan or fully exposed his sin is a significant factor in his power in the world today. Any criminal, as long as his crime remains undiscovered, can remain free. Without proof of guilt, he cannot be convicted. But even the littlest boy who has witnessed the crime, can present evidence to convict the criminal. That same principle applies to Satan. Let us consider several verses from the Bible in order to reveal his true identity and the nature of his sin.

The Book of Revelation, 12:0, says, "the great Dragon was thrown down, that ancient Serpent who has been called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world." In other words, somewhere in Heaven something went wrong, not here on earth. Satan is called the ancient serpent and is the same one who enticed Eve, as recorded in Genesis. In order to deceive Eve, Satan must have been able to understand the conversations between God and man. Therefore, he must be a being of intelligence, a spiritual entity. The Serpent in the scriptural passage was not literally a serpent then. What kind of crime has this being whom we symbolically call Serpent committed?

The Book of Jude, 1:6, states that the angels who sinned were cast into the pit of darkness, to be kept there until the Day of Judgment. Furthermore, we are told that they committed immoral acts and experienced unnatural lust and for this they were put under punishment until the last days. there are also many instances in the Bible where it is stated that the spirit of adultery, the spirit of the harlot, was the spirit of Satan. Sodom and Gomorrah and the surrounding cities which were involved in immoral practices were likewise punished. We can readily see then, that the sin of Satan was adultery. Through his sin Satan won over the first man and woman, thus becoming Lord of the Earth and King of the Universe. Since the fall of man this world has not been controlled by the power of God; it has been controlled by the power of Satan. We must sadly recognize that all man are still under the influence of Satan and those who work with him. Then how did Satan deprive God of His power -- His control -- by love of mankind? What kind of sin was it that we inherit from Adam and Eve from generation to generation right up to the present day? We have not been able to root out this original sin. It still persists in every human being., and therefore Satan remains the ruler of this world.

Today many Christians believe that by the power of Jesus, by his blood, we have been saved. Then I must ask you if you are completely saved. That means, without original sin and its effects, like the original man. You must be able to give birth to children without sin. Does such a person exist? No. Consider the disciples of Jesus; could their children have been saved without faith? No, they too, had to walk the same road for salvation. The evidence that original sin has not yet been rooted out is abundant.

Then what is the sin that affects us from one generation to another? it must somehow be related to our lineage. We already understand from scripture that the angel committed adultery. Since adultery cannot be committed alone, the angel must have had someone, an object with whom he sinned. Genesis indicates that the angel's object was Eve. Therefore, this evil act originated from the angel, came to Eve, and then to Adam, thus affecting the entire human generation. Let us examine this further.

In the Bible it says that Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. This was not literally a piece of fruit. Jesus said that what goes into the mouth cannot defile the man, but what comes out of the mouth can. Consider the fruit of the Tree. If Adam and Eve ate the fruit and it was literally a piece of fruit, it must have first been touched by their hands, then brought to the mouth and consumed. The Bible also says that after their sin Adam and Eve covered not their hands or mouths, but the sexual areas of their bodies. The fruit is a symbol of their sexual relations. Genesis indicates that Eve gave Adam some of the fruit after she had received it from the angel. The sin occurred between the angel and Eve first. They immediately realized their transgression; Eve knew that she had done wrong. Seeking comfort, she went to Adam, her companion. They repeated the act, and feeling shame, covered their bodies. They could not expose them to the light of God. It is a natural tendency to conceal anything imperfect or of which one is ashamed. In the Book of Job, it says, "When did I hide my iniquity like Adam?" Throughout the Bible that same tendency was exhibited, that of concealing the lower parts of the body. The Gospel of John 8:44, says, "You are of your father the Devil, and your will is to do your I father's desire." Here Jesus is saying that your ancestor is the Devil. Similarly, John the Baptist, accusing the people of lack of faith shouted, "You brood of vipers." The Now Testament human iniquity, human sin, has something to do with the Serpent.

What I tell you is not from my own logic, not created by me It is only through revelation from God that I, have reached this truth. In other words, we have inherited Satan's lineage. That is, in some way our very life's blood has been affected by the Fall, even though Satan is spiritual and we are both physical and spiritual. That blood passes down from generation to generation It is a sad fact that in our bloodstream the Satanic blood and not God's blood has been handed down. Therefore, the Fall involved the staining of Man's blood. We can then realize how God's heart, must ache knowing the suffering that has resulted.

There are many teachings of the Bible which are paradoxical. For example, "He who finds his life will lose it, and he who looses his life for my sake will find it." There is something of a very serious nature which we have to go through. Jesus proclaimed, "You must love me most, more than anyone else. You must love me more than your father, mother, or brother. This means that we must establish a new relationship of heavenly love. We must separate ourselves from this Satanic, stained love. From this I draw the conclusion that to go to heaven, men must deny the relationship of love which is not of God.

John, Chapter 3, records that. Nicodemus came to Jesus . Jesus explained to him, "You must be born again in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Don't you know that?" Nicodemus did not understand. " How can I go back to my mother's womb? And how could I be born again?" But the truth remains, we must be born again, because the first birth was the wrong one. I am sure you find that a great gap exists between the conventional belief of Christianity and the truth which has just been explained.

In the Bible we find that the elder son could not receive the blessing from God. Only the second son was given the blessing. For example, there was the blessing which Jacob gave to his own grandchildren. He crossed his arms so that his right arm went to the second son, Ephraim, and his left arm went to the elder son, Manasseh. Joseph protested, saying, "Father, do not do that, Ephraim is the second born, and Manasseh the first born. Please put your right hand on the first born." But Jacob said, "No. I know my son; I have a reason to do it."

According to the Bible, all the Hebrew men of the Old Testament had to undergo circumcision according to the covenant between God and man. The Old Testament says, "an eye for an eye, a wound for a wound, life for life, and death for death." You must pay as you receive. Circumcision was the covenant between God and man because it strikes that part of the body having to do with original sin. Furthermore, circumcision symbolically lets out the blood stained by Adam's sin. When Jacob was returning from Haran, he struggled all night with an angel. However, before he received the blessing from the angel, the angel touched and injured the hollow of his thigh. God time after time reminded mankind of the original sin.

During the Old Testament age, you could not come into the sight of God without a sacrifice. The sacrifice Is a symbolic representation of your being, your self. Do you think God likes blood? No, He does not -- He is the God of love. Then why does He ask for sacrifice? Through sacrifice one symbolically lets out, the blood affected by original sin. This is a conditional ceremony, blood effected by original sin. This is a conditional ceremony to reveal to people what kind of crime our ancestors committed. So we know we cannot literally interpret the Bible and believe that by eating a piece of fruit they committed a sin. It was not a literal fruit. There is a deep meaning behind it; it is a symbolic revelation of human sin. From every angle it is revealed that the first human sin was adultery, staining the bloodstream of mankind, passing this stain from generation to generation.

With this truth we must took at ourselves. Satan gave us his own blood. We are children of Satan. He is ruling over us, making a claim on us. The Messiah must come to correct this formidable wrong, this crime that prevails upon the earth. God cannot leave His children in a fallen state. Therefore, on the very day of the Fall, God initiated the work of restoration. In other words, the whole of mankind has symbolically become like wild olive trees. According to His law, God cannot claim His rightful ownership of man without paying the necessary price. To do this, He must make certain conditions. Therefore, He has been working step by step to restore fallen man.

He began His work with Jacob. Jacob created the first foothold of God upon the earth. Expanding this base, God has been planning to control one nation. God has been in this way making the wild olive tree His base or foundation upon which the true olive tree could be sent. This base was Israel. For 2,000 years, God promised to send the Messiah, the one true olive tree, to this nation. But where and how did he come?

Because of the Fall, human lineage is stained. Therefore, the Messiah could not come through that lineage. He had to come from a different source. Yet there is no one who can claim that he is not affected. Without knowing these things, the Messiah could not come. Therefore, God has been working to cleanse the blood of mankind. In the original world which God designed, man was supposed to have been perfected in God's love, and then united in marriage. Together man and woman would have produced children who would become the children of God and the Temples of God. Adam and Eve would have become Temples of God, and His visible external form. Corinthians 1,3:16, states, " Do you not know that you are the temples of God and that the spirit of God is dwelling in you?" So you can readily see that Adam and Eve were created as temples of God in which He could dwell.

God created man in His own image. In other words, God, the invisible spirit being, created a visible image, a visible God, with whom He could have give and take and receive joy. This visible image was man. If Adam and Eve had consummated this ideal of creation, uniting with God, they would have established the Kingdom of Heaven. Then, through their unity in perfect marriage centered on God's love, their firstborn child would have become the child of God through whom God would receive the most joy and glory. The second son, of course, would also be the son of God. Such terminology as, "sacrifice" or "war" would never have existed in that world. But Adam and Eve, instead of welcoming God's spirit in their hearts, united with Satan. Therefore, their first child, Cain, Satan claimed as a son. Originally, there was one love, God's love for Adam and Eve, and the position of the firstborn, the fruit of that love, was very precious in God's sight.. However, this precious first love was lost; it was given to Satan. Therefore God could not claim the firstborn.

Satan knew that even though he took Cain, the fruit of the first love of Adam and Eve, God remained the original Lord of man. Therefore, Satan had to recognize God's claim on man. Man is in a position between two lords. Man's first love, through Eve, was with Satan, a fallen angel. Eve's second love was with Adam, and even though it was illicit, it was closer to God's law or principle. Therefore God could still make a claim on man, on the basis of the second relationship. So throughout history God has been claiming the second born son. However this is not the original concept of God's creation. Originally the firstborn should have been God's. So God's work of restoration in history has hinged upon restoring the birthright of the second son.

In the course of man's fallen history, God has always blessed the second son and hated the first son as representative of Satan. After the Fall, Cain and Abel offered sacrifice to God. Cain was the firstborn and Abel was the second born God accepted the offering from the second son, Abel, but rejected Cain's offering. Until now, conventional theology has explained this by saying that Cain's sacrifice was rejected because it was the sacrifice of blood. We can see that this is not so. The person who offered the sacrifice is the key. If Cain had returned to God with absolute faith, the human race would have found hope and human history would have been entirely different.

Originally, Adam was created to fulfill the sonship of God. The angel was created to fulfill the servantship of God. Therefore, Adam was given the right to have dominion over the angel. But Instead, this was reversed and the angel gained dominion over Adam and Eve. To restore this, Cain, who represented Satan, could not go to God directly. He had to go through the proper channel or acceptable line, namely through Abel. He should have made his offering through his brother. This is why God accepted Abel's offering with joy and rejected Cain's. Because Cain was in Satan's position, he had to pay restitution for the crime which Satan committed. Therefore, even after God's rejection of his offering, instead of becoming wrathful, he should have gone to God through Abel. But he did not do this. Instead, he was so angry that he killed his younger brother. In other words, he repeated the Fall of man. The angel, who was supposed to be Adam's servant, dominated Adam and killed his spirit. Similarly, Cain dominated and killed his younger brother. In that way the fruit of evil came into being on earth.

Because of this, God has been seeking restoration of man's birthright. In order to pay for Satan's crime in the Garden of Eden, man's lost birthright must be regained. To do this, the elder brother, in the position of servant, has to go through the younger brother. Because the brothers in Adam's family failed to restore the birthright, God worked to narrow His Providence to an even more difficult situation.

The human Fall came about because of divisive love. Originally man was supposed to be the fruit of one love. However, through the Fall, illicit love came into being. Therefore, in order to restore His one unifying love, God narrowed down the path, from the brothers Cain and Abel, to the twins, Esau and Jacob. The one who sowed the Fall was Eve; the one who consummated the crime was Cain. The crime was committed from cause to result, from mother to son. Therefore, since restoration means movement in the opposite direction, reversing what failed, mother and son must cooperate.

When Rebecca was pregnant with the twins, they fought within her. So Rebecca came to the Lord and sadly protested, What should I do? The children are fighting, even before their birth. I should have been dead. The Lord said to her, "There are two nations inside your womb, and the elder must serve the younger." Then Esau and Jacob were born as twins, in that order. The second son was Jacob, who was thus in the position to receive God's love. So God's providence centered on Jacob.

Esau was not serious about God's blessing. When Isaac, the father, was ready to give the blessing, the mother, Rebecca, cooperated with her second son, Jacob. He took his father's blessing, which should have gone to Esau. God's blessing and love was lost by the cooperation between Eve and her son Cain. Therefore, In the course of restoration, the mother, Rebecca, must work with the second son, Jacob, to produce God centered results. The account in Genesis reveals that they used their wisdom. Isaac, who was nearly blind, knew that his firstborn was a hairy man. So Jacob, with the help of his mother, became a hairy man by covering himself with the skin of a young goat, and thus pretended to be Esau. Esau, as, I said before, was not serious about God's blessing, He had previously sold his birthright to his younger brother. This was very significant, for it was at this very point that a condition for the, establishment of the foothold of God on earth was set. Learning that his father had blessed Jacob, Esau almost repeated the fallen act of Cain, i.e. killing his younger brother. He was furious with Jacob. I will not, however, go into detail on this particular part of the truth, except to say that they were reconnected many years later, because it takes more time than we have available.

Are you aware that twins often understand each, other's feelings quite readily? Jacob won the victory over Esau. In other words, he won the birthright from Esau. However, this entire process of restoration was accomplished after they were born. Since they were twins, their successful restoration of the birthright represented a narrowing down from the relationship of Cain and Abet, who were born separately. When Jacob and Esau succeeded in this process of restoration, they were most probably in their middle age. Thus, God could claim that period of time of man's life. However, the life up to that age was still claimed by Satan. Therefore, it was necessary to continue the process of narrowing down the restoration another step, going into the mother's womb itself.

Jacob had a son called Judah. Judah had a daughter-in-law named Tamar, who should have had children through her regular marital relationship. Realizing that this was not possible, though, she tempted her father-in-law Judah into an illicit relationship with her and children were conceived. In Chapter 38 of Genesis you will find the complete story of this particular event. Tamar, even at the risk of being stoned as an adulteress, conceived a child. She was fully determined to do God's will, putting her life on the line. In this case it was necessary for the Providence that she be in this position of rejecting that very life, which had been received from the Satanic world. Thus, she had an affair with her father-in-law and conceived twins.

The struggle between her two sons began before birth, in the womb of Tamar. Tamar, knowing this fact, came to the Lord. God gave her the same answer as He did Rebecca, saying that "You have two nations inside your womb, and the elder must serve the younger." As the time of birth drew near, the first son was ready to emerge, and his arm came out first. The midwife put a red string on his wrist. This was a symbolic sign,, representing the emergence of the Communist world, whose symbol is red, at this time in human history.

In the womb, at that critical moment, the struggle continued. The elder son, Zerah, who had the red string on his wrist, went back inside and his younger brother Perez came out first. The name Perez comes from the expression to, "push aside." So the struggle of restoration which God had intended for the brothers Cain and Abel, and then for the twins Esau and Jacob was now once more mysteriously repeated in the struggle between Zerah and Perez inside their mother's womb. So, God was victorious in restoring the birthright of the older son before birth. For the complete fulfillment of this act, however, God had to wait quite some time, until the birth of Jesus, Jesus was destined to come from this lineage. It was necessary, however, that God wait until this line had passed through the tribal and racial level and had become the nation of Israel.

Mary, to whom God gave the most important mission, that of giving birth to the Messiah, had to put herself, like Tamar, in a sacrificial position. In other words, she had to separate herself from the Satanic world. To do this, Mary had to undergo a grave risk.

Why was it that she and Joseph were in the engagement state and not already married when the child was conceived? This was because Adam and Eve fell during their period of engagement, not after their wedding. During the engagement period, Adam and Eve were taken by Satan. Therefore, to restore this, it was necessary for the time of Mary's conception of the baby Jesus to be during the engagement period. So when an angel appeared to Mary and told her she was going to conceive, she was greatly surprised and shocked, and said, "I do not know man." Then God's angel said, "You will conceive of the Holy Spirit." However, in the eyes of the world the two are the same, to conceive is to conceive by man, still Mary, in the sight of the Lord, said, "Do thy will, not as I will, but as thou wilt." This later brought about many complications in the couple's relationship. But that is another story.

Thus, the baby Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary, yet Satan could not claim his own blood in Jesus. This was so because God had already set the necessary conditions throughout history in the generations since Tamar, and the affair of Zerah and Perez. Down through the lineage of Jesus, God had already paid indemnity for Jesus' birth to be a special one. What I am saying is this: Jesus was born without sin. Jesus came without having anything to do with Satanic blood. God had prepared this line for a long time, so that Jesus could come as a sinless child. Therefore, he was indeed able to claim, "I am the only begotten Son of God.

In human history, this was the first time a sinless child was born on earth. "I am one with God," Jesus said. "The person who has seen me has seen the Father," he said. In the 14^th Chapter of the Book of John, verse 28 Jesus says, "I am in the Father and you in me; and I in you. He who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." So Jesus came to restore the sinless position of love, the love which had been lost since the time of Adam. This fact has not been known until now.

There is a reason, a most important reason, why no one could come to the Father except by going through Jesus. He is our only bridge, our only hope, our only channel for reaching God. Therefore, Jesus proclaimed, "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and without going through Me, no one reaches the Father."

There have been many saints, many religious geniuses, and many wise men throughout the human history. But no one else could play the role of Jesus, who alone brings us to the Father. This is because he came in a stainless, sinless position which no one else has. He is the only channel to reach God, Though Buddha, Confucius and Mohammed were all religious leaders, they did not have the same relationship with God that Jesus had. He I came as the second Adam. Therefore, the birth of Jesus as the Messiah was the Day of Hope for all mankind.

In His dispensation, God prepared a field of wild olive trees, symbolic of the nation of Israel. Upon this foundation, He sent one true olive tree. He intended to cut and graft onto this one true olive tree all of the, branches from the wild olive trees, so that they could receive new life and a now blood lineage from God. Once grafted, the wild olive tree branches would bear true fruit, like that of the true olive tree. In other words, this grafting act makes things whole and new. So Jesus came as the true olive tree. For him to succeed, all the wild olive trees would have to become branches of the true olive tree on the family, tribal, racial and national level. Thus, Jesus would be the center of each level.

Jesus came for this mission. But he could not accomplish it by himself. In order to bear true fruit, Jesus, the true olive tree, the savior, had to take a bride here upon the earth. Through their union, the new lineage would be established.

The Jewish religion and the Hebrew nation had been prepared for God's dispensation, for the coming Messiah. Jesus was to be received by this nation, this prepared people. However, He was rejected. Jesus came as the Messiah. The people of Israel should have been the foundation for his coming, but they did not fulfill this purpose. There was a price to be paid for this, and for 2,000 years Israel was without territory, and its people became wanderers, receiving great persecution. It is incredibly sad that during World War II the dictator Hitler condemned the Jews and exterminated almost six million of them. Viewed in the history of restitution this was payment that had to be made so that the people could be saved. Therefore, the Messiah must come again to consummate the unfulfilled mission of two thousand years ago.

Instead of grafting. branches of the wild olive trees onto himself, Jesus was crucified. When he left the earth, he promised, "I will come as a bridegroom, you must be ready as a bride. God's history of 4,000 years of preparation up to the time of Jesus was lost. All of the preparation was in vain. Thus, in order for God's Providence of Restoration to be fulfilled, new preparation must be made. Therefore, the new Messiah must come. In the last days of human history the new Messiah will have the role of the true olive tree. He must come again so that our branches can be grafted into him.

The time for the coming of the new Messiah is at hand. How do you think he will come? Will he come from the air? When Jesus ascended into heaven, he left the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth in the hands of Peter. The Kingdom of Heaven failed to take root, not up in the sky, but here on earth, Matthew 18:8 says, "Whatever you bind here on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Today, no matter how deep our faith in Christianity is, we cannot become true sons of God. The highest level to which we can be lifted is that of adopted sons. As Romans 8:23 states, ". . . we ourselves who have the first fruits of the Spirit wait for adoption as sons . . .", The Kingdom of Heaven is open only to those true sons and daughters of God who are without original sin. Admission here is not gained individually but rather by family, tribe, and whole nations. If the Kingdom of Heaven is as yet not opened where are all those great spiritual followers of Jesus? They dwell in Paradise which is no more than a sort of "waiting, room" until the gates to heaven are opened. Jesus could only have gone into the Kingdom after completing his work and taking a bride, establishing a family, tribe, and nation. He came on the foundation of a nation but that nation collapsed. The church fell apart. Nothing was left. The symbol of the cross spells misery, not glory, because it was the instrument of his crucifixion. Satan claimed victory on the cross. Besides, the principle of Christianity is based not on the cross but on the resurrected Jesus. If it were not for the resurrection, even spiritual salvation would not have taken place. What is the difference between an adopted son and a true son? An adopted son has nothing to do with his adopted father's lineage. So there's another level before we can become true sons and daughters of God. Adopted sonship, for which many Christians are waiting, is not our ultimate destination.

Also, the prepared field of wild olive trees exists only in spirit. At the present time there is no area,, no nation in which God can saw His wild olive trees under His own dominion. No foundation is being readied anywhere on any level. Therefore, God must proclaim the Day of the Coming of the New Messiah, that man may prepare for it. It is with this mission that I am here: to proclaim his coming. I am heralding the Kingdom of Heaven, which is near, so that you may prepare yourselves.

The New Messiah will come on earth. In Revelations: 12 it says, "The woman will give birth to a son, who will have the power of iron, and he will be lifted up to the throne of God." The son who will come to the earth with the power of iron, ruling all the nations, will be the Messiah. We must receive him when he comes. Otherwise, we will not have a true olive tree on which to be grafted.

In order for this foundation to be ready, similar to Israel in Jesus' time, we must go through the same process of preparation that Israel went through 2,000 years ago. God works according to principle and law. The Fall of man came about through disobedience of man. Satan took man and thus the true love which should have belonged to God was lost. The results of the Fall were, first, disbelief, secondly, loss of one's own self; and thirdly, loss of love.

In the course of restoration, then, we must retrieve all of these by moving in the opposite direction. In order to restore belief, God has been seeking individuals of absolute faith on earth. During the time of Abel and Cain, absolute faith was required. Thus their sacrifices should have been accompanied by absolute obedience and faith, thus restoring the position of disbelief and overcoming Satanic; accusation. We must separate ourselves from Satan. Only then can we receive the blessing from God. We must believe when belief seems impossible. We must reach the point where we cannot be separated from God. To do this, we must make the impossible possible. Through this process we will receive. God's blessing and love without accusation.

There is a good example of this in the Old Testament. During the time of Noah, Noah did something which seemed impossible. God instructed him to build an ark. However, He asked Noah to build it not at the shore, nor at the riverside, but on top of a mountain. Could you believe this? And do you know how many years it took Noah to construct? Not 10 years, nor 40 years, but 120 years, lunar calendar; probably 12 years as we measure time, during which time all his neighbors and friends laughed at him. Suppose you were the wife of Noah, or his son. Do you think you could trust such a husband, or such a father for 120 years without losing faith? No. It is impossible. Yet God wants the kind of faith where you believe in Him, in His words, and in His instructions, when it seems impossible for you to do so.

Let's examine Abraham. Abraham had a very good family life. He was engaged in the idol-making business. Then suddenly, the instructions came from God. "Leave everything, leave your place." If Abraham had thought, No, wait a minute, I cannot leave here, I must stay and live and enjoy the remainder of my life, then Abraham's mission would never even have begun. If Abraham, before making up his mind, had discussed this with his wife and with the members of his family, I don't think he would have followed God's way. But when the instructions came from God, he dropped everything and went. He left for an unknown destination without any promise of anything. It took a great deal of faith. But Abraham never doubted God, not even for a moment. He placed his absolute faith in God and feared nothing. It was only on the basis of this condition that God could bless him, saying, "Your posterity will be like the stars in the heavens and the sands in the sea."

Let us consider Jacob. Upon receiving the blessing from his father, he left for 21 years for an unknown destination in the land of Haran. Only upon such faith can God act. The case of Moses was the same. He trusted God, who loved Israel. Therefore, he gave up his own luxurious life in Pharaoh's palace and took off. Moses went out into the wilderness and suffered many hardships. But his faith in God was never shaken, and because of this, God gave him a great mission: to lead the Israelites into Canaan.

John the Baptist was no exception. He lived in the wilderness for thirty years, eating only locusts and wild honey. In his mind was the absolute faith that he would meet the Messiah and would be ready for him. Do you think his family welcomed his going to the wilderness? Not at all. But he put aside all these circumstance and rose above them. He ate locusts and wild honey but if you took at this area geographically, it does not have an abundance of either. I'm sure he fasted many times, and begged many times, People from the neighboring villages no doubt pointed out to him and wondered about him. But he had the untiring faith, the absolute faith for God and the coming Messiah. Indeed, he did find the Messiah.

Jesus, of course, had absolute faith in God, too. Because he was one with the heart of God He was unaffected by the persecution he received from the people of Israel. I have mentioned these examples in order to demonstrate how these great men time after, time demonstrated their faith in God even in quite abnormal situations. Today, God is working for the foundation of the coming new Messiah. In His preparations, He cannot deviate from the principles He has applied throughout history. He is looking for the faith of Abraham, the faith of Jacob, the faith of Moses, and the faith of John the Baptist.

Today, we must admit that we are living in a difficult age, an age of confusion. It is very difficult now to find true faith in God. However, God must find that very faith, in order for Him to work. Beyond nations, beyond circumstances, beyond all knowledge, and beyond all ideologies, God is looking for that deep faith which He can get hold of. He seeks the faith which enables a man to risk even his life, without being shattered. It is this kind of faith which God will use as the foundation upon which to send the Messiah. Only upon seasoned faith can the proper foundation be set. The Messiah working with this faith will overcome all difficulties and hardships that arise. The formation of this kind of faith must take place on all levels of existence. Divisions of faith., divergence, and strife cannot lead to it. We must transcend all these and really seek after one God, one faith and prepare one nation. Though it need not be bound by any national boundary, still it must take the form of a nation like Israel. As I said the foundation of faith must go beyond the boundaries of any one nation. Therefore, faiths from the world over will work with the new movement, recognizing this need and the imminence of the last days.

Our movement emphasizes the importance of the family unit as exemplified by the mass wedding held in Seoul, Korea, in 1970. In this historically unprecedented event couples representing ten nations were married in a single ceremony. In this manner the Unification Church is building the foundation for the new Messiah. We are doing this . . . [missing lines]

. . . under one umbrella, preparing to receive the Messiah. We are often known as a youth movement because ninety-nine percent of the members are, young people with a clear cut purpose and a definite call from God. These youth do not have rebellion in their hearts. They have appreciated their parents and often have shed tears together with them. In some cases they may have left their homes, but never without purpose. This is not a rebellion, it is a crusade.

With blessings come responsibility. This nation is critically important, in God's eyes because of its specific mission to set a base for the Messiah. America must not fail Him now at this crucial moment In history. We must live up to His will and urgent expectation. God places great hopes in America.

The Unification Church will launch an extraordinary crusade for the next three years. We are mobilizing thousands of young people in this land, who will go east, west, north, and south to awaken this country to God and stimulate Its people into preparing for the glorious day of the new Messiah's coming. Of course it will take an iron will, among other things, to reach this goal, but this new breed of people -- the youth assembled under this banner -- are charged with energy and fire like bolts of lightning. They are willing to endure anything and joyfully bear all suffering and hard ships, even hunger. As I declared earlier, the years 1977 and 1978 are most critical We have launched our movement to be ready for this crisis. If you have some feeling towards this please pray for this crusade. Give us your support and your goodwill. Learn more about us, and after you have understood our work, join us with all your heart. Please be thinking of us, distinguished ladies and gentlemen. I venture to say to you that this new movement, this youth crusade, will be the hope of America!

The New Messiah, and the Formula of God in History

Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. I thank You very much for your coming. The subject tonight which I would like to deal with is "The New Messiah, and the Formula of God in History."

The Messiah means the savior. It is not a joyful thing, and it is not pleasant either, that mankind has to look forward to the savior. It is not a happy event. If our ancestors had not fallen, there would have been no necessity for the savior. Because of the human fall the necessity for salvation arises. If we had not fallen, we would not have to worry about either heaven or hell, because we would be born in heaven. However, because of the human fall, the great problem of salvation arises. We need the Messiah. we need a savior.

At the end of this age, we are looking forward to having the Messiah on earth. But no one is really sure for what specific purpose the Messiah will come. No one is sure. Many people are not sure why a Messiah is necessary. There are many denominations in the Christian community which say there is no need to speak of the Lord of the Second Advent. But I do say here: the Messiah must come.

Jesus taught: "You must forgive your enemy seven times seventy." We believe that when the Messiah comes, we will separate good from evil and he will uplift the good; in other words, he will come for judgment. Of course, his mission will be to save mankind. In order to save mankind, he will have to subjugate Satan, who has been the lord of this earth. When Jesus said "You must forgive your enemy seven times seventy," that does not mean we must forgive our enemy, Satan, Jesus was not telling us that. What he was saying is that you must forgive the men who are the victims of Satan. We know that God is a living God. John 3:16 says, "God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, And those who have believed in him will not perish, but have everlasting life." Jesus is the center of God's love. Then, why is it that God must not forgive Satan? We must discuss this problem: it is a very important one.

What was the sin of Satan? Why could not that particular sin be forgiven? There are many people who believe that Satan has existed together with God from the very beginning. In other words, there were two points of origin in the Universe, God and Satan. I met a very famous minister in the United States who expressed this view, saying that Satan was there from the beginning. If that were true, then Satan is an original being. This leaves no hope for human salvation, because if Satan was there from the very beginning, then God can do nothing to get rid of Satan, because they are both points of origin. Then, how could we expect to overcome the Satanic power? Our battle for salvation would never cease, even after reaching the spirit world. God is the center of the spirit world. If Satan exists there, then our battle will never cease. Jesus is fighting against Satan; therefore we must fight against Satan, too. To have two points of origin for the Universe is not a believable theory. Then, we must consider when and how Satan came into being. If there is no Satan, there is no need for a savior; there is no need for the coming of Jesus. As long as there is Satan, God's work of salvation will continue, and the Messiah must come. Then, we come to the conclusion that Satan came into being after the beginning of human history.

The fall of man indicates an abnormal condition. Something is out of order. The fall of man was brought about by Satan, the Devil. Let's look at the true picture of Satan, then. The reality of Satan's existence today is represented by the fact that there has been no one who has uncovered the true picture of Satan, and no one who has truly exposed Satan's sin. Any criminal, as long as his crime has been left in the dark, can remain free. Without proof, he cannot be accused. But even the littlest boy who has himself witnessed the crime, can present evidence to accuse the criminal of his crime. Then, we can reveal the nature of the crime and the very nature of the criminal himself. That same principle applies to Satan. Let us consider several verses from the Bible in order to reveal the true picture of Satan.

When we look at the Book of Revelation, Chapter 12, verse 9, it says "The great Dragon was thrown down, that ancient Serpent who has been called the Devil and Satan, the deceiver of the whole world." In other words, somewhere in Heaven, something went wrong, not here on earth. Satan is called the ancient Serpent and is the same one who enticed Eve. In order to deceive Eve, Satan must have been able to understand the conversations between God and man. Therefore, he must be a being of intelligence -- a spiritual entity. Thus, we can understand that what is meant in this verse is not literally a serpent here on earth. Then, what kind of crime has the spiritual being whom we symbolically call "Serpent" committed?

The Book of Jude, Chapter 1 , verse 6, states that those angels who sinned were cast into the pit of darkness, to be kept there until the Day Of Judgement. Furthermore, we are told that they committed immoral acts and experienced unnatural lust and for this they were put under punishment until the last days. Therefore, we can readily understand that the crime of Satan must be adultery. Satan won over the first man and woman, thus becoming Lord of the Earth, and King of the Universe. Then how did Satan deprive God of that power of controlling all mankind? How? Ever since the fall of man, this world, this universe, has not been controlled by the power of God. It has been controlled by the power of Satan. We must sadly recognize that all men come under the control of Satan, the evil power. Also, we know we have original sin. This sin was committed by our ancestors, Adam and Eve. Then, what kind of crime was it that caused us to inherit their sin from generation to generation up until today? We have not been able to root out this original sin. It still persists in every human being, and therefore, Satan remains ruler.

Today, many Christians believe that by the power of Jesus, by the blood of Jesus, we have been saved to perfection. Then, I must ask you if you are completely saved to perfection. To be this, you must be without sin, like the original man. You must be able to give birth to children without sin. Is there any such person who exists? No. Consider the disciples of Jesus. When they married, and gave birth to children, could those children have been saved Without faith? No. They too had to walk the same road for salvation. This is proof that original sin has not yet been rooted out.

Then, what is it that affects us from one generation to another? It must somehow be related to our lineage. Therefore we call readily understand that the original sin which our forefathers committed was adultery. Adultery cannot be committed alone. In the Garden of Eden, there was God, Adam and Eve, and the angel. We have already determined that the angel committed a crime. Then the angel must have had somebody, all object, with whom to commit the crime. The angel's object must have been Eve. Therefore, this evil act originated from the angel, came to Eve, and then to Adam, thus spoiling the entire human generation.

In the Bible it says that Adam and Eve ate the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. Jesus said that what goes into the mouth cannot defile man, but what comes out of the mouth, that is what can defile a man. Consider the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. If Adam and Eve ate the fruit, it must be touched by the hands first, then brought into the mouth. And from the mouth, it would be brought into the body. The Bible also says that as soon as they committed the evil act, instead of hiding their hands or mouth, they hid their sexual parts. Why is that?

Here we can see some related truths. We already noted that the angel's sin was adultery. Then the human sin was hidden by aprons which covered the sexual areas of their bodies. Therefore, they must have had a sexual relationship. And Eve, after having committed this act, the eating of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, forced Adam to do the same. We can see that the sin of adultery occurred between the angel and Eve first. Then Eve suddenly knew that her God -- given husband was not supposed to be the angel. She realized it was to be Adam. So she forced Adam to repeat the same act.

The moment she and the angel committed the sin, their eyes were opened and they became wiser, meaning they realized their transgression. When Eve became wiser, she knew that she had committed a crime. Seeking comfort, she went to Adam, her companion. Then, both of them repeated the same crime of adultery, felt shame, and hid their lower parts.

We all have a tendency to hide a shameful area. They could not expose that portion of the body to the light of God. In the Book of Job, it says, "When did I hide my iniquity like Adam?" For Adam must hide his iniquity. If anybody has a scar on his or her face, then the person who has that scar will try very hard to conceal it. This is just human nature, a natural tendency. So, throughout the Bible, that same human tendency was exercised -- not hiding the hands or mouth, but hiding the lower parts of the body.

The Gospel of John, Chapter 8, verse 44, says "You are of your father the Devil. Your will is to do your father's desire." Here Jesus is saying that your ancestor is the Devil. Similarly, John the Baptist, accusing the people of a lack of faith, shouted "You brood of vipers." The New Testament reveals that human iniquity, human sin, has something to do with the Serpent. Ladies and gentlemen, this is not my own logic, created by me. It is only through revelation from God that I have reached this truth. In other words, we have inherited stained blood from Satan. That stained blood passes down from generation to generation. Alas, it is such a sad fact that in our bloodstream the Satanic blood and not God's blood has been handed down. Therefore, the fall involved the staining of man's blood. It is not easy to cleanse stained blood. We call then realize how God's Heart must ache, knowing that the human fall involved the deep crime of adultery.

There are many teachings of the Bible which are paradoxical. For example, "He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it." Thus there is something of a deadly or very serious nature which we have to go through. Jesus proclaimed, "You must love me most, more than your own father, mother, or brother. You must love me most, more than anyone else." This means that we must establish a new relationship of heavenly love. We must separate ourselves from this Satanic, stained love. From this I draw the conclusion that to go to heaven, men must deny the worldly relationship of love.

John, Chapter 3 records that Nicodemus came to Jesus. Jesus knew what he was up to. Jesus explained to him, "You must be born again in order to enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Don't you even know that?" But Nicodemus couldn't understand. "How call I go back to my mother's womb? And could I be born again? How could that be possible?" But the truth remains. We must be born again, because the first birth was the wrong one. I am sure you find at this moment that a great gap exists between the conventional belief of Christianity and our true Father's Heart, which has just been explained.

In the Bible, we find the fact that the elder son could not deserve the blessing from God. Only the second son was given the blessing. For example, there was the blessing which Jacob gave to his own grandchildren. There, he crossed his arms so that the right arm went to the second son and the left arm went to the elder son. His son protested saying, "Don't do this. Why should you do this?" But Jacob was adamant. There must be some serious meaning behind this.

According to the Bible, all the Israeli people of the Old Testament had to go through circumcision, according to the covenant between God and man. Then also, the Old Testament says "an eye for an eye," "a wound for a wound," "life to life," and "death to death." "You must pay as you receive." Why did circumcision happen to be the covenant between God and man? Because it is this very condition which centers on that part of the body having to do with the original nature of the sin.

Adam, through this evil relationship, brought stained blood into his body. Therefore, all men since Adam have had to make this condition by cutting that particular part; thus through circumcision symbolically letting out the dirty, stained blood. The Hebrew people, when they used to swear, put their hand on their thigh bone. This is also related to the nature of the original sin, because our forefather committed a crime, using that particular part of the body. Therefore, God is saying, "Whenever you swear, remember the sin which your father committed." Also, when Jacob was returning from Haran, he struggled all night with an angel. And he was winning. However, before he received the blessing from the angel, the angel touched the hollow of his thigh. Then he blessed him. Why? God time after time reminded mankind of the original sin, which was adultery.

During the Old Testament Age, you could not come into the sight of God without a sacrifice. The sacrifice is a symbolic representation of your being, yourself. Do you think God likes blood? No, He doesn't. God is love. Then why does He ask for sacrifice? You must, through the sacrifice, let out the stained blood. This is a conditional ceremony, to let people know what kind of crime our ancestors committed. So we know we cannot literally interpret the Bible and believe literally that by eating the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, we committed a sin. It was not a literal fruit. There is a deep meaning behind it; it is a symbolic revelation of human sin. We cannot deny, then, that from every angle the first human sin was adultery, staining the bloodstream of mankind, passing this stain from generation to generation.

With this truth, we must look at ourselves. Satan gave us his own blood. We are the children of Satan. Thus, Satan is ruling over us, making a claim on us. There was an illicit relationship of love committed by our ancestors and this original sin has stained our blood. The Messiah must come to correct this formidable wrong, this crime that prevails upon the earth. God cannot leave His children fallen. Therefore, on the very day of the human fall, God initiated the work of restoration. In other words, the whole world has become symbolically like the wild olive tree. According to His law, God cannot claim His rightful ownership of man without paying the necessary price. To do this, He must make certain conditions. Therefore, God has been working step by step to restore fallen man.

He started His work from Jacob. Yesterday I explained how Jacob won over the angel and over his elder brother, Esau. Therefore, Jacob created the first foothold of God upon the earth. Expanding this base, God has been planning to control one nation. God has been in this way making the wild olive tree His base or foundation upon which the true olive tree can be sent. This base was Israel. For 2,000 years, God promised to send the Messiah, the one true olive tree, to this nation. But where and how did he come?

If man had not fallen, the original man would have had no relationship with Satan. But, because of the fall, the human lineage is stained. Therefore, the Messiah cannot come through the Satan controlled human lineage. He must come from a different source. Yet there is no one who can claim that he is not stained. Without knowing all these things, the Messiah cannot come.

Therefore, I would like to explain how throughout history God has been working to cleanse the stained bloodstream of mankind. This problem arises because of the fall of man. The first day of my lecture I explained the concept of the original world which God designed. In other words, man was supposed to have been perfected in God's love, and then united with his mate. Together man and woman would multiply unstained children who would become the children of God and the Temples of God, having no relationship whatsoever with Satan. Adam and Eve should have become temples of God, and His visible external form. Corinthians (1) Chapter 3, verse 16 states, "Don't you know that you are the temple of God, and that the spirit of God is dwelling in you?" So you can see readily that Adam and Eve were created as temples of God in which God could dwell.

God created man in His own image. In other words, God, the invisible spirit being, created a visible image, a visible God, through whom He could have give and take and receive joy. This was man. If Adam and Eve had consummated this ideal of creation, uniting with God, they would have established the Kingdom of Heaven. Then, through their unity in perfect marriage centered on God's love, their firstborn child would have become the child of God through whom God would receive the most joy and glory. The second son, of course, would also be the son of God. Such terminology as "sacrifice," or "battle," or "fighting" would never have existed in that world. But Adam and Eve, instead of welcoming God's spirit in their heart, united with Satan. Therefore, their first child, Cain, became Satan's son. Originally, there was one love -- God's Eve, and the position of the firstborn, the fruit of that love, was very precious in God's sight. However, this precious first love was lost: it was given to Satan. Therefore, God could not claim the firstborn.

Satan knew that even though he took Cain, the fruit of the first love of Adam and Eve, God remained the original Lord of Man. Therefore, Satan had to recognize God's claim on man. Man is in a position between two lords. Man's first love, through Eve, was with Satan, a fallen angel. Eve's second love with Adam, even though it was a fallen relationship, was closer to God's law or principle. Thus, the process of the fall was committed through two consecutive illicit love relationships.

The first love was with Satan and the second love was with Adam, with Eve as the center. However, between the two, the second love was the lesser evil. Therefore, even though God had to give up the first relationship, which was totally Satanic, He could still make a claim on man, on the basis of the second relationship. So, throughout history God has been claiming ownership of the second born son. However, this is not the original concept of God's creation. Originally, the firstborn should, of course, have been God's. And so, God's work of restoration in history has hinged upon restoring the birthright of the first son.

In the course of man's fallen history, God has always blessed the second son and hated the first son. After the fall, Cain and Abel offered sacrifices to God. Cain was the firstborn, and Abel was the second born. God accepted the offering from the second son, Abel, but rejected Cain's offering.

Until now, conventional theology has explained this by saying that Cain's sacrifice was rejected because it was the sacrifice of blood. We can see that this is not so. The person who offered the sacrifice is the key. If Cain had really returned to God, with absolute faith, the human race would have found hope and human history would have been entirely different.

Originally, Adam was created to fulfill the sonship of God. The angel was created to fulfill the servantship of God. Therefore, Adam was given the right to have control, or dominion, over the angel. But, instead, this was reversed and the angel gained control over Adam and Eve. This was the fall.

To restore this, Cain, who represented Satan's side, could not go to God directly. He had to go through the proper channel or acceptable line. This was Abel. Thus, he should have made his offering through Abel. This is why God accepted Abel's offering with joy and rejected Cain's.

Because Cain was in Satan's position, he had to pay restitution for the crime which Satan committed. Therefore, even after God's rejection of his offering, instead of becoming wrathful, he should have gone to God through Abel. But he did not do this. Instead, he was so angry that he killed his younger brother. In other words, Cain actually repeated the Fall of Man in the Garden of Eden.

The angel, who was supposed to be Adam's servant, dominated him and killed his spirit. Similarly, Cain dominated and killed his younger brother. Thus, the fruit of evil came into being on the earth. Because of this, God has been seeking restoration of man's birthright. In order to pay for Satan's crime in the Garden of Eden, man's lost birthright must be regained. To do this, the elder brother, in the position of servant, has to go through the younger brother. However, because the separately born brothers, elder and younger, failed to restore the birthright in Adam's family, God worked to narrow His Providence down to an even more difficult situation.

The human fall came about because of divisive love. Originally, man was supposed to be the fruit of one love. However, through the fall, illicit love came into being. Therefore, in order to restore His one unifying love, God narrowed down the path, from the brothers Abel and Cain, to the twins Jacob and Esau. The one who sowed the crime (of the fall) was Eve; the one who reaped the crime was Cain. The crime was committed from cause to result: from mother to son. Therefore, since restoration means movement in the opposite direction, reversing what failed, mother and son must cooperate.

When Rebecca was pregnant with the twins, they were fighting, even before they were born. So Rebecca came to the Lord and sadly protested, "What should I do? The children are fighting, even before their birth. I should have been dead." The Lord declared to her, saying that "There are two nations inside your womb, and the elder must serve the younger." Then Esau and Jacob were born as twins in that order. The second born son was Jacob, who was thus in the position to receive God's love. So God's providence centered on Jacob.

Esau was not serious about God's blessing. When Isaac, the father, was ready to give the blessing, the mother, Rebecca, cooperated with her second son, Jacob. He took his father's blessing, which should have gone to Esau. God's blessing and love was lost by the cooperation between Eve and her son Cain. Therefore, in the course of restoration, the mother, Rebecca, must work with the second son, Jacob, to produce God centered results. The account in Genesis reveals that they used their wisdom. Isaac, who was nearly blind, knew that his firstborn was a hairy man. So Jacob, with the help of his mother. became a hairy by covering himself with the skin of a lamb, and thus pretended to be Esau. (Esau. as I said before. was not serious about God's blessing. He had previously sold his birthright to his younger brother. This was very significant, for it was at this very point that a condition for the establishment of the foothold of God on earth was set.) Learning that his father had blessed Jacob, Esau almost repeated the fallen act of Cain, by killing his younger brother. He Was furious with Jacob. I will not, however, go into detail on this particular part of the truth, because it takes much longer than we have available.

Are you aware that twins often understand each other's feelings quite readily? Jacob won the victory over Esau. In other words. he won the birthright from Esau. However, this entire process of restoration was accomplished after they were born. Since they were twins, their successful restoration of the birthright represented a narrowing down from the relationship of Cain and Abel, who were born separately. When Jacob and Esau succeeded in this process of restoration, they were most probably in their middle age. Thus, God could claim that period of time in man's life. However, life before that time was still claimed by Satan. Therefore, it was necessary to continue the process of narrowing down the restoration another step, going into the mother's womb itself.

Jacob had a son called Judah. Judah had a daughter-in-law named Tamar, who should have had children through her regular marital relationship. Realizing that this was not possible, though, she tempted her father-in-law Judah into an illicit relationship with her and children were conceived. In Chapter 38 of Genesis you will find the complete story of this particular event. Tamar, even at the risk of being stoned as an adulteress conceived a child. She was fully determined to do God's will, putting her life on the line in this case. It was necessary for the Providence that she be in this position of rejecting her very life, which had been received from the Satanic world. Thus. she had an affair with her father-in-law and conceived a child.

The struggle between the two brothers began before birth, in the womb of Tamar. Tamar, knowing this fact, came to the Lord. God gave her the same answer as He did Rebecca, saying that "You have two nations inside your womb, and the elder must serve the younger." As the time of birth drew near, the first son was ready to emerge, and his arm came out first. The midwife put a red string on his wrist. This was a symbolic sign, representing the emergence of the Communist world (whose symbol is red) at this time in human history.

In the womb, at that critical moment, the struggle continued. The elder son, Zerah, who had the red string on his wrist, went back inside and his younger brother Perez came out first. The name Perez comes from the expression "to push aside." So the struggle of restoration which God had intended for the brothers Cain and Abel, and then for the twins Esau and Jacob was now once more mysteriously repeated in the struggle between Zerah and Perez inside their mother's womb. So, God was victorious in restoring the birthright of the elder son before birth. For the complete fulfillment of this act, however, God had to wait quite some time, until the birth of Jesus. Jesus was destined to come from this lineage. It was necessary, however, that God wait until this line had passed through the tribal and racial levels and had become the nation of Israel.

Mary, to whom God gave the most important mission, that of giving birth to the Messiah, had to put herself, like Tamar, in a sacrificial position. In other words, she had to separate herself from the Satanic world. To do this, Mary had to undergo a grave risk.

Why was it that she and Joseph were still in the engagement state and not already married when the child was conceived? This was because Adam and Eve fell during their period of engagement, not after their wedding. During the engagement period, Adam and Eve were taken by Satan. Therefore, to restore this, it was necessary for the time of Mary's conception of the baby Jesus to be during the engagement period.

The baby Jesus was conceived in the womb of Mary, yet Satan could not claim his own blood in Jesus. This was so because God had already set the necessary conditions throughout history in the generations since Tamar and the affair of Zerah and Perez. Throughout the lineage of Jesus, God had already paid indemnity for Jesus' birth to be a special one. I wish I could have time to explain all the background information. However, it might take five hours or more, so I will not. What I am driving at is this: Jesus was born without sin. Jesus came without having anything to do with Satanic blood. It had been completely separated from him -- God had prepared this line for a long, long time, so that Jesus could come as a sinless child. Therefore, he was indeed able to claim "I am the only begotten Son, the only Son of God."

In human history, this was the first time a sinless child was born on earth. "I am one with God," Jesus said. "The person who has seen me has seen the Father," he said. In the 14th Chapter of the Book of John, verse 20, Jesus says, "I am in my Father and you in me; and I in you. He who has my commandments and keeps them, he it is who loves me; and he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and manifest myself to him." So Jesus came to restore the sinless position of love, the love which had been lost since the time of Adam. This fact has not been known until now.

There is a reason, a most important reason, why no one could come to the Father except by going through Jesus. He is our only bridge, our only hope, our only channel for reaching God. Therefore, Jesus proclaimed, "I am The Way, The Truth, and The Life, and without going through me, no one reaches the Father."

There have been in human history many saints, many religious geniuses, many wise men. But no one else could play the role of Jesus, who alone brings us to the Father. This is because he came in a stainless, sinless position which no one else has. He is the only channel to reach God. Though Buddha, Confucius and Mohammed were all religious saints, yet they did not have the same relationship with God that Jesus had. Therefore, the birth of Jesus as the Messiah was the Day of Hope for all mankind.

In His dispensation, God prepared a field of wild olive trees, symbolic of the nation of Israel. Upon this foundation, He sent one true olive tree. He intended to cut and graft onto this one true olive tree all of the branches from the wild olive trees, so that they could receive new life and a new blood lineage from God. Once grafted, the wild olive tree branches would bear true fruit, like that of the true olive tree. In other words, this grafting act makes things whole and new. So Jesus came as the true olive tree. For him to succeed, all the wild olive trees would have to become branches of the true olive tree on the family, tribal, racial and national levels. Thus, Jesus would be the center of each level.

Jesus came for this mission. But he could not accomplish it by himself. In order to bear true fruit, Jesus, the true olive tree, the savior, had to take a bride here upon the earth. Through their union, the new lineage would be multiplied.

Yesterday, I emphasized the importance of the Jewish religion and the Hebrew nation for God's dispensation, as preparation for the coming Messiah. Jesus was to be received by this nation, this prepared people. This, however, did not occur. Jesus was rejected. Jesus came as the Messiah. The people of Israel should have been the foundation for the coming of the Messiah. But they did not fulfill this purpose. Therefore, the Messiah must come again to consummate the mission which was not fulfilled two thousand years ago.

Instead of grafting branches of the wild olive trees onto himself, Jesus was crucified. When he left the earth, he promised "I will come as a bridegroom; you must be ready as a bride." God's history of 4000 years of preparation up to the time of Jesus was lost. All of the preparation was in vain. Thus, in order for God's Providence of restoration to be fulfilled, these lost acts must be repeated. Therefore, the new Messiah must come. In the last days of human history the new Messiah will have the role of the true olive tree. He must come again so that our branches can be grafted into him.

I wish I could go through the details of the relationship between Jesus and John the Baptist. However, I will skip this area and would ask that you read about it. I would like to say to you that the time for the coming of the new Messiah is at hand. How do you think he will come? Will he come from the air?

When Jesus ascended into heaven, he left the keys to the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth, in the hands of Peter. The Kingdom of Heaven failed, not up in the sky, in heaven, but here on earth. Matthew, Chapter 18, verse 18 says, "Whatever you bind here on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven." Today, no matter how deep our faith in Christianity is, we cannot become the true sons of God. The highest level to which we call be lifted up is the level of adopted sons. As Romans 8:23 states, "we ourselves who have the first fruits of the Spirit . . . wait for adoption as sons . . . ."

What is the difference between an adopted son and a true son? An adopted son has nothing to do with his adopted father's lineage. Thus, there is another level ahead of us before we can become true sons of God. Adopted sonship, for which many Christians are waiting, is not the ultimate destination.

Also, the field of wild olive trees exists only in spirit. Currently, there is no area on earth, no nation, no place in which God can sow His wild olive trees under His own dominion. At the time of Jesus, Israel existed in order to receive Jesus. But today, there is no nation like Israel which is ready to accept the coming Messiah. Furthermore, there is no group, no race, no tribe which is preparing for his coming. There is no Christian faith, no particular denomination which is ready for this. There is no individual who is preparing this foundation. Therefore, in order for man to prepare properly, God must proclaim the Day of the Coming of the New Messiah. It is with this mission that I am here: to proclaim his coming. I am heralding the Kingdom of Heaven which is near, that you might prepare yourselves.

The New Messiah, I conclude, will come on earth. In Revelation, Chapter 12, it says that "The woman will give birth to a son, who will have the power of iron, and he will be lifted up to the throne of God." The son who will come to the earth with the power of iron, ruling all the nations will be the Messiah. We must receive him when he comes. Otherwise, we will not have a true olive tree on which to be grafted.

In order for this foundation to be ready, similar to Israel in Jesus' time, we must go through the same process of preparation that Israel went through 2,000 years ago. God works according to principle and law. The fall of man came into being through the disobedience of man. Satan took man and thus the true love which should have belonged to God was lost. The results of the fall were first, disbelief; secondly, loss of one's own self; and thirdly, loss of love.

In the course of restoration, then, we must retrieve all of these by moving in the opposite direction. Therefore, in order to restore disbelief, God has been seeking individuals of absolute faith on earth. During the time of Abel and Cain, absolute faith in God was required. Thus, their sacrifices should have been accompanied by absolute obedience and faith, thus restoring the position of disbelief and overcoming Satanic accusation. We must separate ourselves from Satan. Only then can we receive the blessing from God. We must believe when belief seems impossible. We must reach the point where we cannot be separated from God. To do this, we must make the impossible possible. Through this process we will receive God's blessing and love without accusation.

There is a good example of this in the Old Testament. During the time of Noah, Noah did something which seemed impossible. God instructed him to build an ark. However, He asked Noah to build it not at the shore, nor at the riverside, but on top of a mountain! Could you believe this? And do you know how many years it took Noah to construct? Not 10 years, nor 40 years, but 120 years, during which time all his neighbors and friends just laughed at him. Suppose you were the wife of Noah, or his son. Do you think you could trust such a husband, or such a father for 120 years without losing face? No, it's impossible. Yet, God wants the kind of faith where you believe in Him, in His words, and in His instructions, when it seems impossible for you to do so.

Let's examine Abraham. Abraham had a very good family life. He was engaged in the idol making business. Then suddenly, the instructions came from God, "Leave everything, leave your place." If Abraham had thought, "No, wait a minute, I cannot leave here, I must stay and live and enjoy the remainder of my life," then Abraham's mission would never even have begun. If Abraham, before making up his mind, had discussed this with his wife and the members of his family. I don't think he would have followed God's way. But when the instructions came from God, he dropped everything and took off. He left for all unknown destination without any promise of anything: it took a great deal of faith. But Abraham never doubted God, not even for a moment. He placed his absolute faith in God and feared nothing. It was only on the basis of this condition that God could bless Abraham, saying "Your generation will be like the twinkling stars in the sky and the sand in the ocean."

Let us examine Jacob. Upon receiving the blessing from his father, he left for 21 years for all unknown destination in the land of Haran. Only upon such faith can God act. The case of Moses was the same. He trusted God, who loved Israel. Therefore, he gave up his own luxurious life in Pharaoh's palace and took off. Moses went out into the wilderness and suffered many hardships. But his faith in God was never shaken, and because of this, God gave him a great mission: to lead the Israelites into Canaan.

John the Baptist, too, was no exception. He lived in the wilderness for 30 years, eating only locusts and wild honey, while pursuing the road to God. His faith was there. I have mentioned these examples in order to demonstrate how these great men time after time demonstrated their faith in God even in quite abnormal situations. Today God is working for the foundation of the coming new Messiah. In His preparations, He cannot deviate from the principles He has applied throughout history. He is looking for the faith of Abraham, the faith of Jacob, the faith of Moses, and the faith of John the Baptist.

Today, we must admit that we are living in a difficult age -- an age of confusion. It is very difficult now to find true faith in God. However, God must find that very faith, in order for Him to work. Beyond nations, beyond circumstances, beyond all knowledge, and beyond all ideologies, God is looking for that deep faith which He can get hold of. He seeks the faith which enables a man to risk even his life, without being shattered. It is this kind of faith which God will use as the foundation upon which to send the new Messiah. Only upon seasoned faith can the proper foundation be created. The Messiah will come upon this foundation, working with this faith, overcoming all the difficulties and hardships that crop up. Then we will see hope.

The formation of this kind of faith must take place on the family, tribal, racial. and national levels. Divisions of faith, diversions and individual struggles and fighting -- these will never make good foundations. We must transcend all these and really seek after one God, one faith. We must prepare one nation. Though it need not necessarily be bound by any national boundary, still it must take the form of a nation like Israel, so that when the new Messiah comes, he can descend upon it and work with it. As I said, this formation of a new faith as the foundation for the new Messiah must go beyond the boundaries of any one nation. Therefore, faiths from all over the world, recognizing this need and the imminence of the last days, will work with the new movement which has already started.

Our movement emphasizes the importance of the family unit as exemplified by the mass weddings we performed last year in Seoul, Korea. Thus, the Unification Church is forming the foundation for the new Messiah. We are doing this on the family, tribal, racial, and national levels, and on the cosmic level as well, gathering all people who are ready under one umbrella, preparing to receive the Messiah.

Here in the United States I saw many broken down families. But those broken families are not necessarily broken for a greater cause. Rather, they are just broken. It is not necessarily for a special mission or dispensation for God. I saw that there are many wandering youths here in the United States. Many youths do not have direction, but are just wandering, dismayed. And I heard of a new term "hippie" in this country. The family unit is breaking down into pieces. So there cannot be any family in this situation that can be ready for the coming Messiah. It is very difficult for God to get His work done under these conditions, where chaotic situations or confusion persist.

There must be order. There must be some new hope, new movement. I am afraid that America is greatly confused. We put tremendous hope in America, it is our hope that America is the country that is not only seeking after national interest, or America's interest, but going beyond that for the interests of the entire world. But I am afraid that this is not so.

We of the Unification Church are known as a youth movement. Ninety-nine percent of the members are young people. In many cases, they left their homes, but not without purpose. They have a definite purpose, a definite understanding, and a definite call of God. I have seen many rebellions of young people against their parents. I have seen it with great sadness. But our youth have appreciated their parents and have shed tears together with their parents. And that is in no sense a rebellion. It is not a rebellion, it is a crusade.

What we need in America is a new direction, a new awakening, a new sense of purpose. We must have this. We are launching a crusade, a great movement to awaken America and prepare her for the coming Messiah, so that this blessed nation can be used as a base for him. The blessing of this nation must be for all mankind, not just for America. I must say that with blessings come responsibilities. God puts great hope in America. And America must not fail Him. America is the hope of the world. This nation is critically important in the eyes of God. We must live up to His will and His expectations. So, the Unification Church here in America is serving as a fresh awakening pill. We are saying, "God, please use us as a sacrifice. Please awaken this nation, so that this nation is worthy of You."

The Unification Church will launch an extraordinary crusade for the next three years. We are mobilizing hundreds, thousands of youths, in this land, and they are going east and west and north and south to awaken this country to be worthy of God in the day of the coming of the new Messiah. If you have a feeling towards this, please pray for this crusade, this movement. I dare say to you today that this forthcoming movement, this youth crusade, will be the hope of America.

I will leave America on March 14. 1 know there will be hundreds of youths who will shed tears upon my departure. However, my final instruction to them, to these young people of America, is this: "Don't shed tears for me, but shed your tears and blood for your country, for America. This is my covenant with you."

The young people who have assembled under this banner, as forerunners awakening this country to be ready for the new Messiah, are charged with energy, and bubbling with enthusiasm and fire, like a bolt of lightning. They are willing to suffer in joy, and hunger -- they will win over hunger, they will win over any kind of hardship in joy.

Yesterday, I declared that the most critical, dangerous moment in the history of America and of the world will be in 1977 and 1978. In order to prepare for this day, our movement has been launched. Please be thinking of us, distinguished ladies and gentlemen. Give us your prayers, your support, in order for this movement to be ready for the dawn of the new day, the hope of America. Learn more about our movement, and after you have understood our work, please be with us.

The time of the Messiah is just like the time of war. You leave your family, your loved ones, to protect your country and protect your freedom. The time of the Messiah is even a much greater day. God might call upon you to drop everything, like Abraham, to participate in this historical crusade. Would you be willing to respond to it?

The Day of Hope, the Day of the Messiah is at hand. This is my message to you. Let us prepare ourselves to be worthy of his service, so that we will receive and accept him instead of rejecting him. His mission is to restore the original concept of God's creation, the ideal world, which I explained. Let us all participate in this great homecoming into the Garden of Eden. The Ideal World For God And Man

Good afternoon ladies and gentlemen. I am very happy to have you here again this afternoon and I thank you very much for coming despite the bad weather. This afternoon I am going to speak on the topic, "Ideal World for God and Man" or "United World for God and Man."

In my previous talk I discussed the existence of God and the relationship of God and man. Looking around us we can all see that an ideal world or united world cannot emerge from what is now existing, from things as they are. All people are longing for the ideal world, a world of peace and unity. However, if we stand still and, stay where we are such a world will not come about. It is not just people of our day who dream of the ideal world. In the past, our ancestors too dreamed of it but were unable to realize that world. I believe this ideal world must come, to mankind.. We must make it come to mankind.

If God exists He wouldn't permit such a world of chaos to continue eternally. He has to work to realize His ideal on earth. Here we find the meeting point of God and man. Man wants to realize the ideal world and God wants to bring the ideal world to man.

As we can see there are many nations in the world today; many tribes, many families, many individuals. Among these there should be one nation which dedicates itself to working for this ideal -- a world of unity and peace. But there is no such nation in the world. We see today a divided world: the democratic world and the Communist world.

Can we bring in the ideal world from either of these worlds? Or from both? From our experience and understanding so far we have to come to the conclusion that it is not possible to bring in the ideal world from either of these worlds. Up to this point the USA has been the leading nation of the free world. Now it is withdrawing from the scene. Even the Communist world is divided into Soviet Russia and Red China, who are fighting each other -- not working together to establish an ideal world. An ideology must exist to usher in a world of unity. Lacking this, the ideal cannot be realized.

But where to find such an ideology? We do not have a central ideology or central point from which we can initiate the ideal world on earth. Nor is there, any one nation -- not a single nation -- which is perfectly united and which is a small, ideal world of peace and unity. Not only is a nation lacking but also we can point to no race of people who are prepared to establish such unity. Can we then find at least a family -- a single family which truly represents the ideal family of unity, love, and peace. We cannot find such a family. An individual then -- can we find an individual who could truly set a pattern for all people to follow to create the ideal family and world.

We know God as the almighty God, the Omnipotent God. If He is to set up His ideal world He must have a model or pattern for His ideal world, ideal nation, ideal family, or ideal individual. But we know of no place on earth where such a model family or model man exists. Apart from God we see that man himself lacks any particular, plan to create or make man into an ideal being, or to establish an ideal family. We cannot find such a plan for man. Until we locate the patterned course or model man or model family which God is planning to create in order to establish the ideal world and until we become one with that model or pattern or follow that course we will be unable to initiate the ideal world. Where then does God start to fulfill His ideal.

He must begin this gigantic work with one individual, through man. Man must be the starting point to establish His ideal. We know that man was created by God. Since God is Absolute, creation -- man -- must also be absolute. But we find in man two conflicting natures battling one another. Yet, among all these people God must find one man whom He can lead to realize the ideal family, ideal nation, and idea world. In such a situation that man's purpose in life, his central aim should be set upon family. Family's central point should be set upon tribe. Tribe must work to establish nation. And nation must emphasize the building of a higher world, a better world. The ideal world is for everybody. But to bring this, upon the earth God began to work from the individual level -- with man.

Man has mind and body or spirit and physical body. Which is the central part of man? Man's mind is the subject, the central point. To bring about the ideal man of unity God has been working to subjugate, to control the physical body with man's mind. In reality we find our mind and body are in conflict with one another. The mind wishes to go the way of goodness while the body tends to evil; our mind wishes to sacrifice ourselves for others while our physical body tends to make others sacrifice for us. Their ways are different -- opposite. God knows this present state of man. How then can He mold a man of complete unity? God has been using two methods to subjugate the physical body. The first has been to put the body under great strain and difficulties by prompting man to pray or to fast for this. In this manner God intended to decrease the force or power of the physical body so that it could be subjugated by the mind. All religions which lead to goodness taught of this subjugation . However, our physical body does not desire to be "lower" in position or subjugated. This is why Christianity taught us to sacrifice so that the body would have to accept that position.

A life of faith was meant to keep our body subdued by mind which was led to goodness. But men live and go in either direction, sometimes good, sometimes evil. However, when the force of the physical body is inferior to or less than the force of the mind it will be very easy to control the physical body. But now, in man, both forces are equal), almost level. Therefore God intended to use another method to strengthen the power of man's mind. By so doing He wanted to the physical body with mind. If the power of the mind is superior to that of the physical body then this superior mind can lead the body to the way of goodness. But man must open the way so that God can work through man. To open that way God asked man to pray hard and to dedicate himself to the way of goodness.

When you dedicate yourself with all your heart, all your sincerity, then God can dwell in you. For instance when we send electricity through a frog it cannot control its body. The same is true in our case. When we receive greater power from God our body can be controlled by our mind. For this reason all sacred men and saints of the past lived such dedicated lives and lives of such sincerity and devotion. Jesus also taught us to pray without ceasing. He wanted people to detach themselves from the worldly life. He taught the reverse of what seemed to be true: those who want to lose their life will gain it. Jesus told those living happily with their families, love the Lord more than your family -- more than your father, your mother, your sons and daughters. Also, love God with all your hearts, all your minds, all your souls.

God always puts greater emphasis on internal matters and wanted to teach us to sacrifice external things. In other words, centering on man's mind, He wanted to join with man and take him along His course. There was a reason for God to do this: without having the individual head for the ideal family, the ideal family head for the ideal tribe, the ideal tribe for the ideal nation, and the ideal nation for the ideal world God cannot establish the ideal world. This is why He always stressed the importance of centering the focus point of our life, at a higher level , beyond and above ourselves. This is the reverse of the way of evil. In the story of the Garden of Eden Satan seduced Eve and induced her to leave the, central point. When Eve seduced Adam she did the same with him. Due to this man left God who should have been the central point of his life. So, man was swept, far from the center. Thus evil decided to have himself (Satan) as central point and sacrifice others to his own ends. This is the battlefield of God and Satan, who are fighting in man. God is working through man's mind and Satan through his body. This is why our mind. and body, are in conflict with each other.

Many think the relationship of good and evil is as subject and object. This isn't true. The mind was made as subject but evil too fights to be subject. The result is head-on conflict between two subjects both of which want the same position. Plus and plus repulse each other. To bring peace we must smash the one subject. (evil) and transform it into object. God has been working to accomplish this by trying to subjugate the physical body and make it object to the mind. Consequently our mind is the base for the kingdom of heaven and our body is the base for hell.

Whenever you take the side of mind or conscience goodness results. But when you take the side of your physical body you will be led to evil. So there must emerge such a man who has completely subjugated his body and has the ability to control it. He should have become one with God by accomplishing that. Such a man must have emerged in the past -- a man who won this victory over the physical body. Because of shortage of time I cannot go into a detailed explanation of this but Jacob was the first man who could control the angel before he crossed the Jordan. He then received the name Israel. This means that man must be victorious over the angel. Jacob's elder brother Esau tried to kill him subsequently but because he gifted his material property to his brother Esau welcomed his younger brother Jacob. Jacob then began to build up his family from this victorious base and his tribes multiplied. God worked to, establish one central nation through his descendants. They were given Judaism so that centering on this God aimed to make them one.

On that foundation God wanted to send the Messiah. A model nation was to emerge from the union of the people of that nation and the Messiah. He did this because Satan controlled the world by his sovereignty nation and until God could have such sovereignty nation Satan would stay, undefeated. It meant that God had to have a subject to bring in a world of unity and that could come about only when God's sovereignty nation became superior to Satan's sovereignty nation. God had worked for two thousand years to prepare and train the people of Israel to build a nation so that He could send, the Messiah to them. By choosing such people and working through them was God's way to establish a world of unity.

What then was the mission of the Israeli people? They had to be more faithful, more loyal to God than any other people, They had to follow precisely the directions of God. By, so doing they could have established a God centered nation on earth. When they accepted the Messiah that nation would have become the model nation for the world. They would also have established the model tribe, the model family, and the model individual. If the Hebrew nation had accepted the Messiah and become one with him they would have become the leading nation and would have founded the ideal world on earth. Ironically the Christians believing in the dead Jesus (after his crucifixion) could bring about such a tremendous free world . How much greater and freer would the world have been had the Hebrews become one with the living Jesus! They could have brought about that world in a far shorter period of time than it took the Christians. At the time of Jesus the power of the Roman empire was declining. Had the Messiah Jesus and the Hebrew people been united into one they could have joined with the Arab nations of that age and together could have established one united nation of the twelve tribes of Abraham. At that time this united nation (Israelis and Arabs) could have joined forces and confronted the Roman Empire because they were the enemy during Jesus time. Had this happened there would have been no war between the Israeli people and the Arab nations as is happening now.

There are among you some that are Jewish, I think. But I must say this because it is a fact. Why did the chosen nation, the chosen people of Israel have to go through so much suffering in the, past? It was only in 1948 that, they, could restore their independence as a nation but even today they have so many difficulties to overcome. Two thousand years ago they could have united with the Messiah but they didn't. Consequently they lost the foundation. And today there is no foundation, no national foundation for the Messiah who is to come again.

For God to realize His ideal world He must have His nation here on earth which He can control. God's method to bring in the united world is not one of violence. He always has sacrificed those whom He loved most for others -- to save others.

So to establish a higher level He wanted to sacrifice the individual for the family, His family for tribe, His tribe for nation. If the Hebrew people had united with the Messiah to form a nation God would have sacrificed that nation for the whole world in order to establish the ideal world of unity and love. In our, case, if we desire to have for ourselves the ideal world we must locate and found a similar nation on earth.

Evil (Satan) has always struck others to enslave or sacrifice them. There have been many wars in the past -- wars on the family level, tribal level, as well as national level. Those wars came about because of self-centered benefits which were at stake. That is the direction of evil.

God therefore must walk in the opposite direction. So goodness has always sacrificed to save others, to serve others. That was the method, the strategy of God. Therefore we must sacrifice our physical body to serve family; sacrifice our family to serve tribe; sacrifice our tribe to serve the nation and to establish it. This is God's way. Then, to successfully bring about the free world one nation which is willing to sacrifice itself for the free world should emerge. But can we find such a nation in the free world? If that nation is concerned with serving itself it will not last long.

Up to now America has been playing the role of leading nation. If the two hundred million people of America unite into one and are ready to serve the free. world -- if they are willing to help others then this America will control the whole world. God does not wish to have two worlds such as the free world and the Communist world, He wants one world. If God has set up this nation to establish His, ideal world of love and unity He should be disappointed with American policy. For instance, President Nixon is withdrawing from his Asian role. America is putting most emphasis on itself rather than on the world's problems. Americans believe no nation has prospered by aiding foreign nations. With this is mind. they are withdrawing from the world. If America continues this policy God's way and America's way will part and separate. I understand God blessed this nation to become the world's leading nation. But that was not for the happiness of Americans alone. It was to save the whole world -- to bring God's ideal upon the earth. That was the purpose of God's blessing to this nation. This nation was founded by Puritans who fled from England to enjoy freedom of faith. God's blessing then was so abundant that this nation became the most prosperous nation on earth in the last two hundred years! Can there be any other nation which God can trust or rely on to fulfill His ideal?

If God loses a gigantic nation such as America and finds instead a smaller one to use as His base upon which to found the world of unity this America will lose God's blessing. She will follow an entirely different direction. I hear that if a man speaks of God or the will of God many Americans turn their faces away from that man. If this is really true where will the American people go? Some may think I say such things because I am an oriental from Korea and Korea's foreign aid is being cut back by America. But that is not true. I do not speak these things, from that point of view.

I was persecuted by the Korean government, Korean people, and Korean Christians. I speak the truth.

We must, realize God's strategy is entirely different than Satan's. God's strategy is to sacrifice his most loved ones to save others and not the other way around. It is not the way of God to sacrifice others to make His loved ones prosper. He has always wanted to sacrifice His own people to save others. That was God's method to save the whole world. When God sent Jesus to the Israeli people He wanted to make that nation sacrifice for the rest of the world. But the Israeli people thought differently. Thus division took place.

Christianity emerged from the foundation of Judaism. It had to have the spirit of self-sacrifice to save others. For Christianity to appear on the world level many had to make great sacrifices. All Christians of the world should have united into one to save others. If it had come to that stage if it came to that stage now it could never perish. Christianity always prospered and grew whenever there was a foundation of bloodshed. If leaders in influential positions hunger after power or self-benefit Christianity will decline. If this religion set up a new movement to initiate unification of all, from the leader to the bottom, then the religion will flourish eternally. To bring Christianity to date God has sacrificed His servants, adopted children, and even His beloved son. It was this spirit of sacrifice which caused Satan to surrender. Satan cannot follow this sacrificial path -- his way is to make others his sacrifice. As I said before, God has been working on man's mind and Satan on his physical body. Consequently in the last days the fruits of these efforts will be reaped on a world-wide scale. There was much good and evil in the individual and since man shall reap as he sows good and evil sown in the past will bear fruit in these days.

Today there are two worlds, namely, the free world which admits the existence of God, and the Communist world which denies God and centers itself on the material. Because I speak of world problems some may say I am politically, motivated. But that is untrue. I am simply explaining the true facts.

Those who emphasize the physical body over the mind deny the existence of God. And since mind and body have been struggling and battling each other the physical body side denies God. Therefore God's side must deny the material world, the world of external things. That was to have been the mission of religion because a religious life offered the opportunity to do just that. But today many ministers are mixed up and confused. They think even the atheistic, Communist world is good too. However, the Communist people do not admit the existence of God and their desire is to take over the whole world. They say religion is as opium. In the Bible there is a passage which states that in the last days people will be divided into two -- sheep and goats. Sheep have their lord, but the goats do not. Could you say then that God stands in the position of Lord to the free world -- the sheep? I have seen statistics: many ministers and padres do not believe in the existence of God -- almost 40% of them. This should give you an idea of how serious the problem is.

Why then even in the atheistic Communist world are Soviet Russia and Red China fighting? Their aims are the same i.e. to conquer the world, but Soviet Russia wants hegemony in the Slav nations whereas Red China wants Red Chinese hegemony. This is the reason they fight now. If they put greater stress on realizing one common world they wouldn't fight. But because of this -- hegemony -- they fight. This means ideology which cannot go beyond nationalism or national consciousness cannot usher in a true world of unity and peace.

What in that case is the final barrier to bring in the ideal world? It is nation, nationalism, and national consciousness -- that is the final barrier. Neither America nor the Communist world have been able to go beyond this barrier of national consciousness, national benefit. Therefore a new movement which is willing to sacrifice its members beyond all nationalism to save the whole world should emerge. Its ideology must spread. Evil or Satan's thinking goes : mine is mine and yours is mine. Your nation is my nation. This is the way of Communism.

Heavenly thinking is different: mine is yours; yours is nation's; nation's belongs to the world; what belongs to the world is God's. Then what is God's becomes mine. In this manner everything can be linked together. Without this there can be no unity, no oneness.

I shall give you an example to show that history will be reaped as it is sown. Today we the democratic world and the Communist world as well as Christendom and the Islamic world among the four major spheres. Why have these circumstances cropped up in the last days? The result has been produced according to its cause. The most important fight between God and Satan took place at the time of Jesus, the time of his crucifixion. That was the beginning point of the cause where the seed was planted. The last days are the days when these seeds will have borne fruit and are harvested.

At the crucifixion of Jesus there were four people around him -- four kinds of people: there was Jesus; the thief on the right side; the thief on the left side; and Barabbas. At the time of the crucifixion these four were connected with one another. Barabbas was spared -- he lived in the flesh. Jesus was resurrected in the spirit body. When Jesus was put on the cross the thieves on the right and left fought one another. The left side thief despised Jesus: "You are the son of God?" he mocked. He ignored the existence of God. But the right side thief defended Jesus saying, "We are 'worthy of death but this man has nothing to do with it." The two fought each other. Barabbas was spared because of Jesus. Originally he was to be put to death but was released. Since he was saved by Jesus he should have worked for Jesus and served him but instead he objected to him and persecuted him.

In those circumstances Jesus passed away. He said he would come again. Therefore in the last days similar circumstances will appear. Communists are also referred to as leftists -- the word leftist grew from that scene of the crucifixion, representing the left side thief. As that thief denied God so also the Communists are denying Him. The right side thief who defended Jesus is represented by the rightists. We must know this What about Barabbas? He is represented in Islam. When they witness to their religion they use violence. That is not God's method. When the right-thief and left-thief represented a respectively in the "rightists" and Communists become one this world will have come to its end. And when the Islamic world and Communist world are on the threshold of being united with one another Christianity and the free world must join forces. But such is not the case with Christianity and the free world because they are not united and consequently not superior to the other side.

To make Jesus' ideal into reality will take the work of a core-nation of Christians who should successfully unite the democratic world. But such a nation or people do not exist. In 1965 when I visited America I met your late ex-President Eisenhower and told him even if the democratic world surpassed the strength of the Communists the time would come when the Communists and Muslims would unite and attack the free world. Soviet Russia's policy to befriend a Muslim nation Egypt along with their uncontested presence in the Indian Ocean while America withdraws from Asia is no doubt raising the Communists' hopes to communize the world. Evil is working to conquer but the free world is doing nothing.

When you understand these things perhaps you will realize how great America's responsibility is. This huge nation sent her troops to Vietnam, a small nation of 70 million. For years she fought in that country without success. Now she is with drawing from that nation. How do you think this affects God? How do you think He feels about America? Just think. You have a son. You send him to your servant with materials and equipment. But your son was defeated and he came aback and told you, "I couldn't fulfill my responsibility," how would you feel towards that son? When I say such things many may think I am for war. I don't want war, but I do know the strategy of evil. Wherever evil or Communists find they are superior to their opponents they will attack and strike you.

In Korea in 1953 we had an armistice agreement with North Korea. Today the North Koreans are fully prepared to attack South Korea. For them there is no peace, no such thing exists. The snake has a forked tongue. So also the Communists say one thing and do another -- their words and actions do not correspond.

God has wanted to use this nation as the defender of freedom. God has wanted to use this nation as His instrument to bring world peace and the ideal world of unity on this earth. But now God is losing this world. I am Korean but I have never spoken to the people of Korea on these matters. This is the first time I speak such things to the public. Why should I come to your nation and say these things? I know that 1977 and 1978 will be critical years for America. That year is the 60th year since the establishment of a Communist nation. This year is the most critical and dangerous year for Korea as a nation. The Communist world and the democratic world are confronting each other in Korea. The premier of North Korea Kim Il Sung turns 60 on April 15 this year. In any case the course of evil -- Satan -- will be most active and dangerous during the years 1977 and 1978.

For this I want to start a movement to awaken all Christians of America. To do this I am going to mobilize many mobile teams in the US. I expect many American Christians to resist our movement. Besides this many authorities may be quite critical of our movement. But this reawakening movement is so urgently necessary for America we have to do it. Our teaching raises and builds individuals who can serve the whole world going beyond their individual interests, family interests, and even their national consciousness. We do not want to do this to increase our membership. Our spirit is to work for America and for the world. I think this is the only way that America can survive.

To bring about the ideal world for God and man we must build such people who can sacrifice themselves for the cause of the world. Through these people the ideal world can become a reality.

How Can We Become One With God?

To be one with God means to be one with the highest being. Naturally human beings have longed for this. Not only man but all things in the universe have longed for this. One God created all things and He created them with one purpose. If this purpose was fulfilled we wouldn't be searching for this oneness. That you think of this proves there is no oneness with God. The world is a place full of sadness. We can't be one unless we get to the root of the problem: why we are not one with God.

There are as many different ways to be one with God as there are individual faces of mankind. This comes from your ancestors. The fact that you are not one with God means that your ancestors must not have been one with God. We, are descendants of Adam and Eve and are not higher than God created them -- before the fall. When Adam faced God He maintained a father-son relationship with him. But his descendants, mankind, do not have this. Originally God was our Father, but because of the fall, Satan became our father.

Where do we begin to become one with God? We cannot begin below the state of Adam and Eve. To be one with God you should be above Adam and Eve. This is the Principle. If we can't realize this there is no way to become one with God. Let us consider this matter realistically. Jesus had to concentrate on the point referred to in order to begin his work. We too must regard that. We must start there so as to pass that point. Behind you are your parents, family, nation, and world.

First of all you must overcome the world. Secondly you have to deny yourself. The question is to what degree?

Our life began with evil. So you cannot obtain this result unless you risk your life to overcome evil. That's why Jesus said, ". . . Those who seek to gain their lives shall lose them and those who lose their lives shall gain them." To overcome the world you must go beyond the world. Your flesh is a gift from Satan -- it is inherited from your parents who belong to Satan. Since our bodies belong to Satan you have to have greater power from somewhere in order to step up to be one with God, the origin of life and love. Thus as fallen descendants you have to love God more than anything else. This is the second principle. You -- a beautiful girl such as yourself -- you may come across a handsome man and say to yourself, "Oh what a handsome man. . ." and so on. You may feel this love for a partner, a mate, But you must love God more. Last night Master talked about the five senses. You have five senses which give pleasure and which are there for you to enjoy. But you have to love God more than these,

The problem is, you can't see the existence of God. If we saw God there would be no problem. But we can't see Him. So He set up a method (a person) who can bring you to Him. Throughout the ages God set up men who could lead you to that person. That person is the Messiah. What will the Messiah bring? God's love and God's life. Even in Satan's world, this fallen world, people are longing for these.

So far we have two divisions or categories: Love of God and Life of God/Love of Satan and Life of Satan. Those who recognize this should be able to exchange these two. False life and love started after the fall -- the world began after the fall. We have to come back to true life and true love. If the Messiah came he would definitely bring these two -- God's love and God's life -- from Him. When compared with worldly love and life God's love and life are so vastly, unimaginably different. God's side is the Kingdom of Heaven and Satan's side is hell. There cannot be oneness in such separation. That's why Jesus came to teach people how to unite the two sides, the two categories. That's why he said, ". . . for I am the way, the truth, and the light, and no one comes to the Father but by me." And "You must love me more than your husband and wife and father. . . " In the Satanic world this is illogical. Biblically speaking is he not right?

Knowing Jesus said that, we realize he was not a man of the world. Then to what degree should we be like Jesus? You have to reach the point where you are one with Jesus in flesh and blood. That's why he set up the condition of the sacrament: Christians must feel they are actually eating Jesus' flesh and blood. They should actually feel Jesus' life and love for him more than anything else when eating the bread; and when drinking the wine they should really feel they are drinking his blood. Without such feeling salvation cannot begin at that moment. This was Jesus' method to bring mankind to pass from Satan's world into God's thus uniting the two: through actual, real sense experience. It means Satan is cut off and mankind is grafted to Jesus -- a consummation with him resulting in one flesh, one blood i.e. on mankind. Then man can feel this oneness. From that point on the person receives God's love and life.

Man wasn't born of one parent but of both. However, Jesus came to accomplish this before he brought mankind a mother. But because of his single status mankind needed a mother in order to be revived. Consequently the Lord of the Second Advent had to fulfill this need. Thus was prophesied the Marriage of the Lamb in Revelations. Up to this time well meaning Christians have been receiving father's love only, not mother's. They inherited father's flesh and blood only, not mother's, because Jesus alone could only be a father. But mankind's body is a combination of father's and mother's blood, isn't it?

From now on how to become one with God means how to become one with Father and Mother who will give their love. They should be the ones in the Parents' position. The desire to become one with them should be the greatest. That's the only way to oneness with God: to meet them and become one with them. If you meet True Parents will you long to love them? How much? If you know the Principle he has laid out, you will know.

Your love and life started with Satan -- you started by loving Satanic parents, brothers and sisters, country and world. Satan's side and world has experimented in loving on the world-wide level. To break from this, to transfer out of this you have to give it up completely and set up the condition that you love True Parents more than Satanic parent love. The responsibility of True Parents is to teach mankind to love more than all levels of Satanic love, to direct mankind toward heavenly love from the individual through the family, tribe, and national levels.

We must realize that Satan is mankind's servant. To come back to God you must establish the dignity and prestige of true sons and daughters by loving God more than the love Satan has for you in the fallen world. Since the love of God is higher, greater than Satan's love (servant's), you have to feel it more powerfully. The proportion of your, love for God compared to Satan's love is the key. When it becomes greater, more powerful than Satan's love then you can become one with God. Theoretically, is this not true? This is a fact! It is Biblically true. It is the immovable, unchangeable truth. If you know the truth it will free you. Ignorance cannot free you. Only perfect truth will bring perfect love.

In order to practice this how much must you love True Parents? How high, how deep? In the Past there have been many, many people who have loved their parents so much -- in varying degrees. You have to surpass them and go beyond them in your love for True Parents. Isn't this so? It's a fact! Not only should parent love in the Satanic world be surpassed but also love of brothers and sisters. And it's the same with relatives. That is the standard. It applies on (every level: tribal, national, and world).

We have to love more powerfully than, the Communists love something. Shall we be overcome by them or shall we beat them? What we are talking about is at a higher level -- the top level. Below, that is Satan. There must be a boundary. You should know by now who will go to the Kingdom of God and who will go to hell. Centering on this heavenly standard he has been fighting. This is the goal. You must, love your brothers and sisters with a love more powerful than Satan's. If you confine yourselves to "American" and soon, you are wrong. Go beyond race, nation, country. That is the standard., You know where you stand, whether, you, get a passing grade or a failing grade. There is no time to think of rest, or complain about other problems. Do you think you can go this way alone? That's why mankind needs True Parents.

I'll tell you a secret, that you may become one with True Parents: the one who accomplishes this can become one with them. To be the True Parent he has to accomplish and set up the standard of heavenly love and so you must go beyond this world to rid yourselves of your fallen natures. But the secret is this: you must really believe and have complete faith that you belong to the True Parents . . . "I am his child." With this conviction you. should be ready to give up your life, your love. That's the absolute deepest hint. If you make that decision even God cannot divide you or separate you from them. You will then be victorious over this world because you have faith in True Parents and will inherit everything from them -- all value. You can win over Satan's world. No objection to that? Then he will sign your passport and send you! This, the condition.
