Anyone can make it through the easy and good times. Do you have a philosophy which can tell you what to do when you meet hardship?

Before the age of 30, there were few days in which I was not hungry. How could I have eaten, slept, and been clothed and rested before the standard which I had sworn before God had been accomplished?

Heaven is the place where people gather who have triumphed over the suffering and pains of Hell.

Weep for Heaven, not for yourself!

Man suffers when his mind's standard differs from the standard of God's Will. So man has trained himself to persevere, sacrificing himself through religion.

Fallen man doesn't worry about the purpose of his life, but only about the things he needs to maintain his life. But Heaven helps the one who works hard for the whole purpose, not worrying about his own livelihood.

Undergo hardships! But don't get discouraged, nor die.

The reason that Heaven gave us such hardships to endure might be that God is making mankind aware of how difficult the work of restoration is, so that he won't repeat his failures.

The path we have been treading is for the sake of God, the cosmos and mankind. So if we succeed, this term of suffering and hardship corresponds to the whole of human history.

When you are under hardship, do not worry about it nor cry. The living God knows your situation well enough without hearing from you. If you weep and pray sorrowfully for your own situation, God becomes sorrowful, and so must bear a doubly burdened cross. God has borne alone the bitterest suffering and sorrow of history without being comforted or understood. Comfort the Father first before worrying about yourself. Heaven would weep for such a person, embracing him with joy.

Do not complain. Indemnity is fulfilled through obedience. Sacrifice is a token of obedience and loyalty. Therefore the sacrifice does not have any thought of property, nor does it resist death.

It is true that genuine joy and glory spring up from the place where people were sorrowing and being troubled the most. The people of Korea have been most grieved and troubled.

It is true that Korea has led a life somewhat similar to Jesus: In that there is hope.

Nations wouldn't perish if the leaders and followers communicated with genuine tears, searching for one purpose. How could man perish if his tears and God's would really intermingle?

At the last day people are destined to weep, whether they weep tears of anguish or tears of joy. What sort of tears will you weep?

You must not complain against Heaven. Your complaint would only be a sin which can hardly be forgiven.

How can you declare someone to be your enemy before God declares him to be?

Judgement is not to put all sinners into Hell. Its ultimate purpose is to deliver even our enemies and Satan.

How triumphant was Jesus. when He was able to pray for even His enemies at the place of death, conquering the world with His heart full of love!

The Kingdom of Heaven is a family society which is built with and centered upon the love of children, husband and wife, and parents on the worldwide scale.

Although there have been many people who wanted to get to the Kingdom of Heaven, there have been no people who really felt obligated to establish it. We, having the ideal of the Third Heaven, must think of the righteousness of that Kingdom first of all, rather than what to eat or wear.

The Kingdom of Heaven is the place where people love one another the most, elevate one another the most, and try the hardest to do good to one another.

The ideal society is the perfection of the ideal of love. It is the most beautiful world where the realization of God's love lives in complete satisfaction of heart. Therefore the appearance of people in that world could only be beautiful, because they are surrounded by the eternal light. All people look beautiful when their inner man becomes perfect; there could never be a hateful person.

Be harmonious with each other! If you treat all parents, brothers, sisters, and children as you would treat your own, with genuine love, then you might have the key to the Kingdom of Heaven.

The original world is the absolutely free world without any conditions. Originally we were predestined to go and meet that world. Let us go with joyfulness!

The original world is the world of correlativity. Let us seek after correlativity, avoiding conflict.

We cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven unless we love one another just like real brothers and sisters, though we came together at first as strangers. You must love people as you love God.

We do not believe in Jesus only to enter the Kingdom of Heaven, but also to open the gate of Hell.

You must go to the Kingdom of Heaven not for your own sake, but with the heart of comforting God who has suffered much, grieving, worrying and weeping for loneliness, because He lost His own children for six thousand years, and even lost His throne to the dark sovereignty of Satan.

My subject this morning is God's Sadness, God's Grief. People in general don't know exactly what kind of being He is. They don't even dream of God having grief. "If God be omnipotent and omniscient, how at alt has God any grief?" This is the general idea of the people about what God is. We have been taught by the Divine Principle that anything must have an object in order to perform give and take between subject. Unless they do that, they don't have any joy or happiness. Therefore, if God is the subject and He loses His object, He will be grieved. God is grievous over the fact that man, due to the Fall, went away from Him and in the course of restoration of man, His grievous heart is more saddened when people are disobedient to Him, and more than that, the very being of Satan is saddening His heart. God is the subject to the human mind and our mind is in the objective position to God as the subject.

When we are striving to come closer to God, we have to go through three points. We must have three points or three kinds of love, and that is the love of parents, the love of husband and wife, and the love of children. Out of the three, what kind of love would come first? Love of parents would come before the other two. Then we can as well say that love begins from parental love. Then, what must be the source of parental love?

We know that love was originated by God, in God. Then, we may say that love began in God as the Parent, and after His creation of man, male and fem ale coming together in the position of parents to their children -- and there came about parental love, matrimonial love and children's love. Love begins from God, and then with man and woman put together, resembling God, they experience matrimonial love, and toward their children they feel parental love, while the children feel children's love toward their parents, and return their love to God and love revolves. However, due to the human Fall, love started in Satan.

Husband and wife were united in Satan, and they gave birth to Satanic children, and all the loves they enjoyed were Satanic ones. Therefore, without our denying the parental love under Satan, we cannot set up parental love under God. Without our denying the matrimonial love in the Satanic world we cannot set up the true love under God. Without our denying children's love in the Satanic world, we cannot set up children's love under God. Centered on true love, we may as well say that love on every level must have God as its ultimate subject. But, on the contrary, every type of love in the Satanic world is centered on Satan. That is not according to the Principle. Satan gets hold of parental love, matrimonial love and children's love. Those are dangling loose, but they still are in Satanic hands.

In order to restore those, we do it in the reverse order. You must grab away children's love first, next matrimonial love and then parental love. Not only take them away from Satan, but we must take those loves back into God's dominion. In doing that we must be able to separate those loves from Satanic dominion.

By fostering that love under God, we must have wholesome children, fostered by God, marry each other, so that they can form the matrimonial love. If they are united into one as husband and wife, and love God as the subject to them as the object put together, then, in doing that alone they will have cut off Satanic love entirely. Unless all those things are done, you cannot say that you have quite cut off Satanic love.

Due to the Fall of Adam and Eve, how many loves did we lose? Parental love, matrimonial love and children's love -- all those were lost. Then we have to restore all those loves back to the original position of higher dimension than the Satanic standard. In restoring man we have to set up the standard of children's love, matrimonial and parental love only by having won back all those loves that would suit the standard of God's love alone. We must find a standard in a man as the children of God in the perfect love of God, as the couple under God in the perfect love of God, and as parents in the perfect love of God.

Why is it so? It is because, due to the Fall of Adam, both God and man lost three kinds of love at once. So, God is to restore those three types of love in the man He has located as His son. By having this person restore all those three loves alone, he can commence the Providence of Restoration in other people.

This man is in the place of Adam. Having been perfected, he is the only restored man in the whole world. God will raise him up wholesomely, with a girl in the position of Eve, somewhere, just as, at the time of the Creation, He created Eve later. Those two, when they reach maturity, will be wed not of their own accord but by the will of God, in holy matrimony. When they come together, they will give birth to children and they stay in the position of True Parent.

Through so many thousands of years of human history, God has been locating that one person -- and having fostered him, He would marry that man to his bride, and then He would set up the parenthood under them. That's what it is. Even if Jesus had married a bride and set up a family, if he had not been able to have children, he could not have reached quite the standard as the True Parent, and in that case he could not stand in the perfect objective position to God. God in a way, gave birth to Adam and Eve, and by having Adam and Eve give birth to their own children alone, the three levels of relationship of love will be perfect in its stand. In that case, God will be the internal True Parent to Adam and Eve, and Adam and Eve will be the external True Parents to their children. By internal, he means invisible, so when we go to the spirit world after our death, God will not be visible.

There, too, God will abide in you. You have a mind for sure, but can you see your mind? Mind is your subject, but you can never see it. In the spirit world, too, God is something like your mind, at d Adam and Eve in the spirit world will be in the position of body to God. By interpreting this way alone can our understanding be enlightened.

We have been talking about how to restore big things: our family, nation and world -- but the core of the whole thing is how to restore yourself. Establish and build the three levels of love in yourself by experiencing all those things. Then you may say what is the need of witnessing to the people? Why is it necessary? Unless you give birth to your own children, you don' t realize the love of God in you. Anything in the whole world could be understood only by our experiencing it -- going through those things. By witnessing to as many people as possible and bringing those people into our movement we are broadening our base to work on, and by that experience we can find that love is being exercised in us. By restoring yourselves, you can experience the true love of God in yourself, and then through matrimonial love your love is broadened or elevated to the next level or dimension. When you play the role of parents to your children, your love is still more elevated to the next dimension.

You must be very enthusiastic in finding those things and restoring them in yourselves. You must be able to really feel God as your loving Parent, abiding in you, illuminating you. In that case, your mind and your body must be united into harmonious oneness. Only then can you be loved by God. Have you ever experienced that kind of love? With your mind and body united into harmonious oneness, perfect oneness? If you are experiencing God's love on that level, you will be so grateful and intoxicated in God's love -- we can say that even Adam and Eve could not experience such love; you would be drunken in His love, grateful and happy. That's our desire on the first level. Would you want that? Has there ever been a man or woman who has experienced that kind of love on the individu.al level? The man would think, "I am the happiest man in the whole world. I am the only one who really resembles God and I am the only one who is loved by God in the truest sense." He would be the happiest man in the whole world. And if there be any such woman, she would be the happiest woman. When they reach maturity, God will be pleased with them and will be happy to bless them in holy matrimony, and there they can experience the love of God on a higher level.

By their being put together they will feel the whole world is united into one around them. With the whole Creation around them, protecting them, they will feel vertical love, above them God loving them and below, their children loving them. Most of you here are in the prime of your lives, as I see you, and will expect to marry a girl or boy -- but have you restored yourself in the perfect love of God? Only after having done that will you be really happy.

You may say to yourself: "Well, he says we must marry a spouse only with God's consent; what if that spouse of mine is ugly, according to the worldly standard?" At the time of Adam and Eve, did they have a wide choice? You can imagine, perhaps, that God created Eve as a beautiful girl, but there was always the possibility of her falling down stumbling against something, getting scarred, with deformed eyes. What would Adam do? Even in the garden of Eden, if she weren't careful, she might get hurt and become scarred! If that happened, do you think Adam would ask God to create another woman for him? No, that could never happen. Whether she had a scarred nose, a twisted mouth, crippled legs, or had no limbs at all, that could not be done!

Adam could not kick her out. She was the only one there, the image of the female essentiality of God, and he had to know to raise her, saying: "You are the beauty of all beauties and you are here for the sake of all mankind and you represent half of God's essentiality and I love you." How about you? Could you do that?' Be honest and answer me.

In the Western world they marry each other without their parent's consent. That's not lawful in God's sight. If you marry like that there are possibilities of getting a divorce. More than anything else, you must think that your marriage is for your lineage, for your descendants. The most important thing is to leave a pure lineage. Just think back -- you are born out of the lineage of your forefathers. You don't belong to yourself. It is not initiated by you. Love is the source of lineage. Love being more than your life, the lineage must be more than your life. Matrimony must be done to keep the pure lineage, and through your matrimony, you have to leave that as the tradition to your descendants. When you leave, your future descendants, your lineage, will be left, seen by the people, but your love cannot be seen. Love is invisible, only abiding and working in you. But when you obtain a pure spouse of yours and co e together with him or her, you can leave children. Having a spouse means you can put two lineages together and leave your descendants out of that new lineage.

In loving your spouse, you must be transcendent of the lineage between the two of you; putting the two lineages together into one, through that union, you can give birth to your descendants out of one lineage. If and when you love your spouse, bear in mind that person is the fruit of the ancestry of past generations and the starting point or ancestor of future generations. You must put such vast value in your spouse. Love is something you inherit from your forefathers. In the Western world, do you really feel that you inherit love from your parents? When you marry, you are blessed by a minister, by a person you think is important or of high position. In that case, that person is in the position of the archangel. Originally, your parents must bless you in marriage.

That's similar to God's blessing His children, Adam and Eve when they reached maturity. In this case, your parents would bless you, saying, "You are my life, you are my love, you are my everything! I am so happy that you have reached maturity. I am now blessing you to be man and wife. I want you to love each other as we, your parents, have done -- and become one with each other, resembling us, give birth to wholesome children, multiplying your future generations." In that situation you must long to be like your father and long to be like your mother and long to have the love that they had. Such an event can only be imagined in a world without sin. In this movement, when you have been taught all of the Divine Principles, you will think that matrimony blessed in the outside world is nothing; you will scoff at those marriages.

Being in the position of children to your parents, would you like your parents to divorce each other? You would want harmony in the family. Would you like to fight against your parents? Not at all! Then, where does the harmonious tradition begin? From your parents, but your parents inherited that from God ultimately.

The next level is from your grandparents, their parents, and their parents, etc. Children's love, matrimonial love and parents' love must be put together into one. You must have three levels of love, always. If you think of love centered around your grandparents, your grandparents, yourself and your spouse, and your children. There, with God in the center and above, you can always form the foundation of four positions.

Of the three levels of love, which one is closest to God? Parental love. If you have your grandparents, you must really be able to love those aged people as you would God. Age-wise you must unite those three loves together: love for the old, love for the middle-aged, and love for the young. You must be able to experience those three types of love. If your grandparents are in their deathbeds, both your parents and yourselves must be in the same degree of grief and sadness. That's in accordance with the Principle. For instance, if your parents were to pass away first, both your grandparents and yourselves must be grievous over the death of your parents. Placing yourself in the center, the two other elements will always be in protection, in cooperation with you, as the central figure. In a situation where there is joy, too, if one out of the three has joy, the other two will be equally joyful. If the children are dead, both the grandparents and the parents will be equally sad over the death of the children.

Is it all right not to feel sad when your grandparents are dead, while your parents are so grievous? When you are old and ready to die, if your grandchildren are not sad over your death, would you be pleased? I want you girls to answer me. If you marry at all, would you like to marry a man whose parents are still alive and whose grandparents are living with him? If you like the contrary, your thinking is not wholesome. When you have your spouse you want to be all by yourselves. You don't' t like the idea of any other people, even your parents or grandparents, being around. Is that a wholesome idea? (No!) Then, are you ready to marry a man who lives with his parents and grandparents? That is the most desirable ideal, isn't it? If you don't like that, it means you don't like me -- because on the vertical level, God is above as grandparent, the True Parents as parent, and you as children. Would you hate to live with the True Parents and God?

That is the tradition; you must live with people of three levels of love -- that' s God's will. Therefore, I can safely say that those who hate to live with their parents and their grandparents cannot go to Heaven. They are not entitled to the kingdom of Heaven.

Do you understand me? One act, one scene, is over.

Our subject is "God's Grief." What must be God's grief? Where does God's grief begin? In the path of true sensation of love, in the path of heart, either happiness or grief comes about.

Everything starts from love. When love is created, there is happiness. When the loving heart is lost or trodden upon, there is grief. The loss of love made God grievous; nothing else could have made Him sad. He did not want wealth, position, knowledge or any such things -- but He wanted love and He wanted to exercise love. I have said the conclusion. If God can find love in you, find in you the love of God, God Will be happy over this.

But if He cannot find the love of God in you, He will be saddened, grievous. If he cannot find the love of God in parents. He will be grieved. Would you want to have God's love? How much do you want to have God's love? How much do you have God's love? You must be a dynamic object to God's love so that God's love may explode in you.

Have you ever experienced that love? Have you ever been so happy in the love of God that you had almost to weep from that love? That's not enough. You must be able to jump up and down the three levels of God's love. That love of God must connect man and the whole Creation and come back and forth between the three. When you weep, do you shed only tears? If you are really sad, three kinds of water will come out: tears, drool and sniffles. If you reach that point, God will be right there for sure.

That's the only place where you meet God -- when you are so sad. so grievous as to shed tears, to have a running nose and drool flowing out -- there you can meet God.

If you cannot meet God at those two points, you can never say that there is a God at all. There is no other way for us to connect ourselves to God, except the way of the heart, and the way of love. It's very logical to say that we can meet God at those points.

Why is that so? When you shed tears, longing for God, you must go beyond the standard of love exercised in the Satanic world or else you will not meet God. Can you ever dream of God's loving you below the level of Satanic love? You must love each other as brothers and sisters more than they do in the Satanic world. You must love each other as husband and wife more than they do in the Satanic world, and you must love each other as parents to your children more than they do in the Satanic world. That's what Principle teaches us.

How can you do it? Should you just stay home with folded hands, weeping and sobbing, without going out to the frontlines to witness? If you are really ready to meet God, you'll do that not just by missing Him in your mind. I told you that when you miss God as the subject in relationship to you as the object, and think of Him with a longing heart, you can reach Him. That is most desirable, but things are not that way. Due to the Fall there is the Satanic force as subject to you. God cannot reach you directly because the whole Satanic world is above you like this (pointing to the blackboard), so He cannot reach you by going through the direct channel. Why is it so? In loving, you must love each other both on the spiritual and physical levels. That means your mind and body must become one with each other.

The whole world of Creation is in the position of body to man as the subject or mind. So, He has to go through the satanic world to reach you. If it weren't for the Fall, your mind could have become wholesome, so God's love could reach you immediately, but due to the Fall God has to go through the satanic world (pointing to the blackboard). This is myself; my truth element is here, mind, which is apt to belong to God. This part does belong to God, but we are more apt to belong to the Satanic world, since the minus elements, or our fleshly side, are stronger. Even though your mind is one with God, or tends to become one with God, your fleshly side is dragged back by the Satanic power, Satanic world. In comparison, the whole Satanic world is something like your body. Only if and when you restore your own flesh body will you meet God and be one with Him.

If you can restore your body on the family level, external level, you can meet God there. If you restore your body on the tribal, national or worldwide levels, you'll meet God there. The world of body is the world of Satan. Do you think Satan, who did not obey God, would obey you? Satan was able to hit even the body of Jesus; so, if you are not greater than Jesus, he is apt to invade you. How could you be greater than Jesus? You can, if you receive more love from God than he did. If we are supposed to receive God's love on a wider level, we must be able to restore our family in God's love and restore our clan and nation in God's love. You must make your mind a minus element or object to God as the subject, and you must be able to do this at least -- to become entirely one with God. In that case you, yourself, cannot play the role of plus to other elements, to minus elements. If you become one with God, there will be, let's say, 500 horsepower of love on your side. If you have 500 horsepower of love, but in the Satanic would they have 501, can your power win over theirs? You must make this power stronger -- perhaps 600 or 1,000 horsepower. The stronger the power is on your side, the easier it will be for your power to win over the Satanic power. In this case, too, man's mind belongs to God and his minus elements are here on all levels -- but in order to save this man as a whole, God will come through the roundabout way to reach him or cover him, passing through the Satanic world. There is no other way for God to reach man.

In order to save one man as an individual, He has to go through the whole world, connecting everything to you. God is always ready to give you the whole world as your inheritance. By preparing the chosen nation of Israel and many things after that, He wanted you to inherit it. After inheriting everything and having your being connected with God in wholesome oneness, how much would you owe to God? God comes to save you as an individual -- going through all those stages, covering the whole nation and the whole world to reach you. You must be very grateful.

In order for God to reach an individual in Jesus' days, He had to prepare the chosen nation of the Israelites leading that nation, which would inherit the next level of the family, governing all those things that God had in His possession. At the time of the Second Advent, God, or the Messiah, will do the same.

Since you must inherit everything, He is prepared to reach you, but you must start your world and join Him, restoring everything while widening the level or scope. Thus mind and body together must join in perfect oneness with God (pointing to blackboard).

God must start from the top part to reach an individual, covering the whole world. I want you to know that very clearly. If you had a clear knowledge of this, you would not sit still waiting for Him to reach you, but would go out to the threshold to meet Him, out of your house, out of your station of life, returning hand-in-hand with other people to meet Him.

When the Messiah comes to you with 1,000 degrees of love, your heart of love must be the same as his. They will meet together and explode and make the whole world into one at an instant. The power of your love must be more dynamic, explosive and strong than any Satanic love, and then Satanic love will be defeated. When God's love and man's love are drawn together, like plus and minus in electricity, you can really defeat Satanic love and experience God's love covering the whole world. You will have created the climate of God's love, so that all surroundings will be in that atmosphere and know and experience God's love. All the people of the world will be swept into God's love.

God is grievous over the fact that man lost His love. Now, in order to reach you -- as He intends to -- He must go through those different stages. So, from your part, you must not stay still. You must work for the sake of God and the world, dashing out to meet Him from the other end. If the Satanic world did not exist, would God be grievous? So, the question is the existence of the Satanic world, the enemy of God's love. Unless we can liquidate every Satanic love, smashing it into naught, God's grief will remain forever. That's the way to eradicate God's grief, and that's our desire.

How can we smash the satanic world? Because Satan knows too well that we, as children of God, are here to smash his world, he is preparing a fierce battle against us. You must know that.

He won't bother with weak people, but will attack us. In order to avoid his power and win over him, we must go the reverse way. What is the reverse way like? Satan's characteristic is arrogance. In order for us to smash him, we must be humble. He would kill others in order to make himself survive, but we have to sacrifice our lives to save others. That's the reverse way we have to go. There is no other way.

We must repeat tens of thousands of times: "Those who want to lose their lives will gain their lives and those who want to gain their will lose them. "Satan will be afraid and will escape from us and we will survive. If you are not willing to die, Satan may be working within you and you are faced with death. If it is true that man fell in the beginning, don't you think that we have to go the reverse way in order to reach life? Our conclusion is only too natural. We must lead the kind of life, or place ourselves in the position, where Satan cannot attack us. Those who want to remove Satan from you, hold up your hands. When, where and how much later? Now? (NOW!) In what way can you remove Satanic power from you? By sitting here? Then, where can you do that? les, in the front-line where Satan is swarming.

They are waiting for us in the front-line, to fight us, and in that case are you ready to win over them? What are our weapons to fight with and win over them? The weapon of truth; namely, the Divine Principle. More than that, truth alone cannot do that, but love. Truth is the stick, came that will be helpful when we are in search of love. Then, what again is our weapon? love? (LOVE!) God's love! Our weapon is love, higher than Satan's, stronger than Satan's, stronger than that of Adam and Eve before the Fall -- Love is perfection.

If we are really one with God, in the love of God to the 100% level, there Satan can never invade, because in the territory of God' love, there is no place for Satan. With your mind 100% united into one with God, you must by ready to sacrifice your body, which still belongs to the Satanic world. and, by using your body to fight against the Satanic power, can come back to God with mind and body united into wholesome oneness. With your mind put together with God, you want to go the reverse way.

Only after you have won the people of the world, beginning with the individual, family and so on, can you really be qualified enough to return whatever you have won back to God; and only by doing that will you really have won God, on both the spiritual and physical level.

If you fight against Satan physically and win over his power, you will be perfectly one will God, standing in the position where no Satanic power can invade you. There, you'll meet God, and will find that He was already there, waiting and searching for you. That perfect oneness with God, both on the physical and spiritual level, will place you in the position of Adam and Eve before the Fall in perfection.

Where is the point where we will meet God? In your room or in the front-line? (ON THE FRONT-LINE!) Then would you like to stay in your room or go to the front-line? In doing that are you going to do it reluctantly, tearfully or willingly? Would you do that most unwillingly or full of enthusiasm and zeal? That is our desire. Our desire is the unity of our minds with God, our bodies with our minds, our whole being with other people. Only by doing that can we restore ourselves on the individual, family, national and worldwide levels Let's come back to the position where we miss God very, very much. When we miss any other individual, any family, clan, tribe, nation or the whole world -- to that extent or to that degree, God will be there and waiting for us at the other end, and we will meet Him for sure to the full extent. Would you not go that way?

Therefore why is God grievous? More than anything else, God has been sad because there has been no single person who knew God's heart -- who had this knowledge. There has been no single person like that, who could meet God in such a place; no one who was ready to fight and win over Satan that way'. Because there has never been anyone who could understand God's heart and would be ready to go through all those trials and difficulties -- however hard they might be -- to meet Him, save the whole world and return everything to Him. Now you have that kind of person with you, you have been taught this knowledge, and you know how to attack Satan and win over him -- how to win the whole and return it back to God's bosom; since you are ready to do that, you are most happy people. You must be most grateful to God, for this knowledge and for this readiness and zeal to fight.

There are people of higher position, wealth, great knowledge in the world, but God has nothing to do with that world. Even though we may look miserable according to the worldly standard, we are the people whom God will think most highly of we are ready to do what God would have us do.

So, God is now happy over the fact that we are here, ready to do His will; He is not grievous anymore. But in a way, He is still sad -- and He is so impatient to have you fight and win over Satan. There are many, many elements and obstacles for you to have to go over and so, He is so impatient and so sad about that fact. We must tell Father in Heaven when we pray that we are here, saying: "We are all ready to go out and fight for Your sake and for the sake of the whole world. Don't worry about us. We will win at all costs and return the glory to You." Only in that way will we liberate Him from grief so that He can realize His long-cherished hope of unity between God and man and unity between every true element. God sets hope in us and we have our own hopes, like a flickering fire burning in us, but we have to multiply that fire and multiply that love power and destroy the whole world of Satan to return it to God. We have now only a flickering candlelight, but we want to shed light into the whole world. The light will be multiplied and the whole world will be illuminated in the heat of God's love. So, we are the soldiers for that cause and we want to be ready to liberate God from grief.

The more difficult time we have to go through, the nearer we will be to God, so at the height of difficulties and trials you must be able to thank God for them. Be no longer the person who would leave God in a grievous situation. Without Master, without you, God cannot win this world back to Himself. We are being used as His fighters, His warriors, to win against Satan.

You must think about that. If you cannot realize this kind of world while our Master is on earth, you can never dream of realizing it after that.

We are placed in an awesome situation -- dreadful situation in a way our every act, every thought will influence the whole world, and whether or not God will succeed depends on us. So, let us be ready with all our being to fight against Satanic power for the sake of God and the whole world. You must want to resemble God. If you should shed tears, sweat, blood for the sake of the whole world, you will find God shedding tears, sweat and blood for you. You will become the victor for sure. I want you to be courageous soldiers in the front-line in attacking and winning over Satan. If you are ready to do that, will you hold up both hands in pledge before God.

The Attitude of the Evangelist

An evangelist is a mediator between God and man in order to connect those two. In the political, economic, and cultural worlds, the one who is playing the role of the mediator must know clearly and precisely what is taking place on both sides. Especially as a mediator you must be between the two. In that case you must not strongly proclaim what you are going to say in the beginning. You must be calm, showing God that you are strongly on His side, and before the people you must be entirely like those who are on the people's side. Both parties would not like the idea of having to lose something in the relationship. So, you must go back and forth between God and the people; i.e., during the night be with God and during the day be with the people. Both will feel that you are on their side. How you carry out your mission will rest solely on this point. You must be keen to judge what's happening on both sides and you must find out things common to the two. The mediator must not vacillate between the two powers when the two contradict each other. That is, you must not belong to either of the two. When you are on the side of God, they must be thinking that you are doing things for them. You must be strictly in between, seeming never to belong to either side.

If they see that you are doing those things for your own sake, then they cannot believe you or trust you. If you, as the mediator, just pretend to help the other party and the first one senses it, he is liable to tell the other person who you are and what you are going to do. Then his trust in you will be broken, too.

Be a public servant

From this viewpoint we can safely say that an evangelist is a mediator, and a mediator is in the position of a public servant. That's your most important function as a mediator. I want you to know that. You must be interested in knowing the advantages and interests of both parties. You must be prepared to have a person feel like confessing whatever he has in his inner heart. In that case alone can you say you know a person perfectly. If you grasp his secrets, he will come to you on his knees. With all those secrets kept to yourselves, if you are forgiving and helping, and use them to help him, then he will be pleased. But if you expose his secrets, you will be his enemy. Then he will think of you as the conqueror, as the enemy who ruined his life. After he has confessed to you all his secrets, he will keep watching you, and will doubt you if you reveal those secrets to other people. But if you go on keeping the secrets to yourselves, then he will trust you in the long run and will feel like having his friends, family and relatives confide in you. He would like his whole neighborhood to do the same.

So, the first thing is not to speak aloud what you have heard from another person as his secrets. You want to publicize or propagate good things that you have heard from people, but not bad things. In that case, you can even dig out information from other people on your friend. You may find out how he is and what he's doing. When you talk to your friend, pretend that you didn't hear anything bad from the other person, but praise him, telling him that Mr. Smith said a lot of good things about him. He will be pleased.

Suppose those two are good friends, but your friend has a weak point because he once confessed something to that third person and now he hates having done that. But if you tell your friend that Mr. Smith spoke very well of him, he will be really confident that the third person loves him and is interested in him. He will become really one with that person. That way you've gained both of them. By the way you utilize your strategy, you can make two persons enemies or friends.

Don't bring a rupture in the triangular Relationship

The second important point in playing the role of the mediator is not to bring about a rupture among three persons in a triangular situation. Two friends centered on you is a triangular formation; e.g., a couple and yourself, or your son, your father and yourself. If both really think that you are entirely on their side, they will trust you and you can easily become one with them. Don't you think so? The same thing applies to God. God exists and there must be one in the objective position to Him. For example, I am in the position of a complete object to God. With you as the mediator, another triangular situation is formed.

If you are going to criticize someone and call him names behind his back, then the harmony will be ruptured. There is God above, but, being invisible, He cannot associate with you every day. I am in the position of your leader, but I cannot always go about from place to place with you. Then, on the front line, what are you going to do? How to know the profundity of the ideology of my will will be the question. You must put yourself in the position where I will always be with you, confiding in you. If you are told to do a certain thing in secret, and if you reveal that in public and publicize it, you are not qualified. You must keep silent when you are told about some secret among three persons in a triangle formation.

Then, how to be connected with God and me will be the question while you are on the front line without us around. There are only two ways for you to be able to consult with us. You can consult God through prayers and you can reach me by consulting the commander of your mobile team. If you distrust your commander, you will get nowhere. You will have already failed in playing the role of the mediator between your commander and the people.

The mediator on the front line must be more zealous in witnessing to people than his commander. And you must give back to him what you have won in order to please him and ease his heart. Then, if the person you are witnessing to can realize that what he is going to have is greater than what he now has, he will be drawn to you. Let him think that he is going to gain something from you, become a man of high position. He is going to be wealthy in the spiritual sense, since he will belong to God, and become a child of God. That's far better than any worldly thing. Then, he cannot help but follow you. You must have something greater than those people. Otherwise they will say to themselves, "The truth is good, but I think I must wait for the Master to come to me -- I don't feel like following this person."

Keep the dignity of God

Third, you must be well armed with the truth and you must keep the dignity of God. If you are going to do that at all, you must place yourself in the position of a public servant. That's the first thing. Then you must not violate the triangular formation by rupturing the base. That is to say, you must play the role of a peacemaker. That's why in the Bible we read, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God." (Matt. 5:9) If you are a peacemaker between two persons, you must be far better than they; unless they see some dignity and capability in you, they will not look up to you. You must be authoritative with words. You must be able to say things with authority. Words will connect those people.

Action is something like actual fighting. The same thing applies to both God and the world as a whole. Even in the secular world, when we educate people, we first teach them how to speak; then, we teach them how to act; then we teach them the results of their action when put into practice based on their idea. Your authority will lie in those three points; you must know this. You must thoroughly understand all three things. You must contemplate them, say things along that line, put those things into practice, and make the result a success. I want you to be far better than ordinary people in those three points.

If you have divine authority, everyone will bow down before you. Everyone will be interested in what you are saying and doing. They will be ready to follow you, as the center. If you have that dignity and authority, you are in the position of a mediator, and you will be able to connect God and whatever is below.

You are going to study more on the mobile team. Study how to assume authority. While working on the mobile team, you must study the Divine Principle in depth. You must learn how to act. You, must study and learn how to bring about wholesome results. You may think, "Those are most difficult things! How can I do that on the mobile team?" But it's very simple. If you are ready to go through trials and difficulties, all other problems will be solved. Trial is the key to the solution. Suppose there are many other mobile team members wanting to relax and rest, but you go on studying hard. You will be the victor over the others; when they want to sleep, you want to stay up for longer hours. Then you can gain more than the others; you are already the victor over the others. While others want to influence a certain level of people, if you are so outgoing that you want to influence a wider range of people, then you are already the winner over them.

Let us put ourselves into trial

After all, the most important and precious word is "let us put ourselves into trial." In Chinese characters, the formation of the word "trial" is most interesting: three crosses and a square. When you walk how do you do it? With three positions you are singly headed for the goal. In other words, when you walk, do you set your eyes on one point, or are your eyes distracted to three or more directions?

You fix your eyes on one point. When you are standing, both of your sides and your rear are unprotected. So you must have one person on either side of you, and one in the rear protecting you, either by action or by words. Then you are in the middle of the cross -- one cross on either side and one more in the rear. You can say that you have three crosses protecting you. Expressed in another way, there are three elements of Satanic forces -- on either side and in the rear.

The marathon winner in Germany, who set up the world record in 1972, may think he can still win a future race with that speed. He is mistaken. Nothing is more erroneous than that. He must work harder in running practice. The more experience you have in speaking to other people, the more skillful you will become. I told you that you are going to be a mediator among the people, but I don't want you to end up being a mediator. If you play the role of a perfect mediator, you will inherit things from both sides.

Isn't that true? If anyone of you is a good peacemaker or mediator between the commander of your team and the team members, in the near future you yourself will take the position of the commander, because you are qualified for that. You can inherit that. There is no doubt of that.

When Jesus said he was the mediator, it was his great utterance. If someone plays the role of the mediator on God's behalf, and if he does things for the sake of the people, then he is going to be a really good mediator. I le can be the central figure between the two. In that case, he must work for the sake of the people at the sacrifice of himself. Then he will win the trust of the people. You must know these three in order to qualify you to be that.

Being a public servant is something like being a person without anything to claim as your own. Everything of yours and your whole being exists for the sake of this man and that man. People on both sides may have to think that what you have is theirs and they can get something out of you. Unless that takes place you cannot call yourself a good public servant. If you call yourself a public servant, that means that you have no share to claim as your own, and yours will come last. Don't ever think in advance, "I am going to be on the mobile team to work for a great cause, and after that I can win your trust and be blessed." You must not be calculating all those things beforehand. In that case, you are not a good public servant. You would be a thief. Before anything can be yours, it belongs to God and to the people of the world. Your portion must come last.

In man-to-man relationships in the triangular formation, you are on the verge of danger. Whether or not you will be trusted by the people will lie solely on that point. In a way, man is more fearful or dreadful than Satan. In a sense he is more dreadful than God. God is doing only good things while Satan is doing only evil things. But man, between them both, will vacillate -- sometimes belonging to God's side and sometimes belonging to the other side. But you, as the leader or mediator, must go straight forward, never vacillating.

Before going out, you must be resolved to do certain things. You must at least be resolved not to make your first experience a failure. On the other hand, you must expect something very difficult and miserable in your witnessing. Then you must fix your attitude to face that situation. If you have wholesome crops, you will return them to God to please Him.

Study the people

The first thing you must do on the mobile team is to study people. If you have been analyzing the personalities of your friends, your family and your neighbors until now, with that experience you can make further research on people around you. For the first few days, your guesswork will prove true at first maybe 20 percent, then 30 percent, then 40 percent, 50 percent, and finally reaching l 00 percent.

The people you meet will be the material to work on and prepare to face more people. In the past you have not done that quite so seriously as you are now. But in this case you are going to analyze the personality of every person; then you are going to apply that to meeting more people.

You can read the faces of people. If you are talking to someone and all of a sudden he thinks of something else, his eyes will tell you. When someone is talking to you, you can stare at his eyes and detect what kind of person he is and what he is thinking right then. If you are at that moment spiritually well armed and pierce your gaze through that person, he will be disunited and fall back. So, you must know how to catch all those things.

There is some theory working through me and I can catch things at a glance. In one couple I find things contrary to each other, but they still will complement each other; a little later, they will be in harmony with each other. From the way the people walk I can tell all the qualities in them. People have different ways of walking, different ways of expression. After a glance, I can point out a certain person's disposition, and he will be surprised to know that I was correct in that. I stand here talking to you, but in my mind many things come back and forth. I guess that some person will not like this in a minute, and that happens. I see a person dozing off in a corner and I say to myself I will wake him up in five minutes and I do that. I don't have to hit him on the head, but if I mention him, then you will all laugh and he will suddenly wake up. Maybe I shout at the top of my voice or I walk near him, and he will sense that and wake up.

There is profound mystery in your eyes. When I tell you some interesting, good, and happy stories, your eyes assume light, and your eyeballs roll in a very heart lifting way. They may even be tearful, but with tears of joy. When I tell you sad things, your eyes lose their light and become tearful, but the tearfulness will be different. When you are not interested in the things taking place, you begin to doze off. When you are serious, your eyes will twinkle. Your eyes, symbolizing God, can be receptive to both good and bad, happiness and unhappiness. If you stand here talking to the congregation, you will immediately catch who is the most attentive and responsive, and who is disinterested. If you are serious, every part of your head will be focused on that, narrowing down its scope.

So, as a mediator and an evangelist, you must know how to look into people's eyes. Your eyes must look in such a way that will please other people and catch their attention. In their head there are only two things moving: eyes and mouth. If your eyes look happy, your mouth will immediately be frozen in a smile, in the subject-object position. Your expression is very important when you witness to people, because your expression comes before your words. \\'hen you handle people, you feel that you can read people. But it's not easy as it may seem. Your facial expression is important, then your attitude.

Your motions, your words, and finally your action will influence people. First your expression, then your attitude, then your words, and finally your action. Why don't you look at yourself in the mirror? If you find you look too serious, you must practice making your expression a little sweeter.

Be a better listener and better speaker

Then, are you going to play the role of a wholesome mediator or peacemaker between the people? In what way are you going to accomplish your mission? Are you going to relax, sometimes sheltering yourself in the bosom of God? Are you going to hide among the people? Can you do that if you want to accomplish your mission? Those who are ready to go through more toil than other people will be the victors. Another qualification of a mediator is the authority to speak. When you speak you must seem confident in what you are saying -- never vacillating, never vague. If you vacillate, others will detect that and will think, "Well, I can say better things than that." In the beginning, you must be better at listening to other people, but after a while, when you are read' to speak, you must be dynamic and surprise them. They will think you can be a real leader for them. Speaking is something like fencing with swords. You must have keen observation as to where to wield your sword. When the other person is absentminded, you must pierce through that point. So, you must apply your technique and capability in wielding the sword.

Before anything else you must closely study the other person. You can point out the fact that he is from a certain family background and has been thinking, saying, and doing things in a certain way. Then you can point to yourself, saying all the things you have done. You can give your history, and they will know that you are far beyond them. This person will be captivated by the sword of your words. You can even propagate what you are; e.g., a university graduate, qualified for this and that. If that's not the case, you can say, "But I have had to quit my schooling in order to work for this great cause, and you, as a qualified college graduate, must do greater things than I." You can stimulate a person like that.

When you bring in a person, you have engrafted him to yourself. So what you give him will make him what he is. If you have given him poor nourishment, he will not grow wholesomely. However many spiritual children you have raised, if you have not been good to them, their fruit will not be wholesome. So, you must not meet even a single person without concentrating and focusing your attention on him.

Suppose you have met some twenty people in a day. Roughly divided, they are always two kinds of people. The result will reveal how qualified you are. You may have met more than twenty people a day, but if you don't have much experience, those twenty will oppose what you have said. After three days' or three weeks' experience things will be different. After three years, some conspicuous change will be brought about.

Who will be the first

In a few days you will be out on the front line. You must be very enthusiastic to know what kind of person the first person you me; t will be. A girl? A boy? An old woman? A laborer? A scholar? Have you imagined and decided on whom to speak to? You must plan to do things. For instance, "At 7:00 I will leave my bus for somewhere and I will reach the front of the house after ten minutes. There I will wait with great anticipation for the first person to come by. I will do that." Suppose a man appears on the corner, would you just stand there blank?

You must get ready. As soon as you glance at the person, you must be able to catch his age, his position and know how to approach him. Very possibly the first one you meet could be a jolly young man whistling, singing as he walks; then what will you do? Will you look at him with a serious face and ask him why is he is singing like that? You can even dance to the music, his song. He will look at you, and he cannot but stop there. Then you can become his friend right away. You don't have to witness to him, he'll just come to the center. That's nothing to laugh about. That could happen.

The first person you meet could be an aged woman leaning on a cane or a crippled man. You could meet any kind of person. Have you ever stopped to think like that? If an aged woman comes, as you have imagined, then you can tell her that you like old women like her and she looks like your own grandma and you would like to visit her home. Would she let you do that? If it is a man, you can ask him questions and ask him if you can visit him at his home. If you train yourself in that line, after a while you can read his face and fortune: his family background, his educational background, and his thoughts right at that moment. You may play the role of a person in an objective position to him in the subjective position, and you can get hold of him. If he is very receptive, meek, and mild in disposition, you will be attractive, and he will be drawn to you. If you find a man who speaks in a feeble tone like a woman, then you immediately see that he longs to feel masculine, so you look as masculine as possible; he will immediately think that you are the person he needs. If you apply those tactics to what you are doing, you will make your work a success in the immediate future.

Now you have learned how important your expressions and attitudes are. The way you laugh can determine your fate. If in smiling you hold up your head, that symbolizes that you are going to have good fortune and will be happy, but if you smile and laugh with your head down, that's not good. In Oriental philosophy, many such things are taught, and there is some profundity in it. I must again tell you to be a good public servant, peacemaker, a good triangular relationship maker, and to keep and radiate the dignity of God through you. Added to that are more points: One, how to express yourself in a wholesome way, how to keep your attitude sane and sound and how to act and say things. I want you to be persons with weight and depth, so that other people will not have found you out in a few days. You should be a person in whom people will find more and more things over a long span of time.

As a leader, you must have that quality. Don't reveal all you have in an instant. In the Communist world, their strategy is kept to themselves, but in the democratic world, they are ready to reveal their tactics. The evil force of Communism will win over the democratic world for that, because they keep their secrets to themselves. When there is peace it may be all right, but in today's world, if the democratic world keeps its tactics secret, it can win over this world; but as long as its tactics are open to everyone, it cannot help but be defeated.

You repay your debt to God by witnessing

When you witness to a person, don't ever dream of gaining anything from him. You must be ready to give out things -- you are going to lose everything. You are going to give at the sacrifice of yourself. You must be prepared to repay God because you are indebted to Him-don't ever think of drawing something out of God, because you are indebted to Him. So, in what way are you going to repay Him? You are also indebted to me. You are a debtor, and debtors cannot lift up their faces without having paid the debt. In what way are you going to repay your debt? If you are told to repay God, repay heaven-that's not within your power. Very fortunately, God would not have you repay Him: by working for the sake of other people you will have repaid Him.

If you really realize you are so greatly indebted to God and to me, then you'll want to pay all those things to the people of the world. When the person you give to realizes that he is not the creditor, and that you are not in a position to have to repay him, he will fall on his knees before you. He knows too well that he is not qualified to receive something as the payment for what should be returned to God.

You are going to do that through whatever person you are witnessing to. In reverse, you can think of that person as your liberator, because without him you would have no way to repay your debt to God and to me. "I am indebted to God on the individual level, family level, national level and universal level. But I am going to repay that debt to God by serving this person." The person is so dear to you -- the family and all are so dear to you because without the family, clan, nation and whole universe you have no way to repay God. When you think of things in this way, your witnessing to other people is the way you repay your debt to God.

When you repay the debt, will you do it unwillingly? You must give at least your heart to that person -- to repay that person. If you want to repay that debt through that person and he is not receptive to you, then you must find that you have not been warm enough or zealous enough to do that. If you are all zealous and all willing to repay that debt through that person and he is not receptive but attacks you, God will take vengeance on that person. He will not leave that person alone. God's direct judgment will fall on that person. This is what evangelism is. This is the way to liberate the population of the whole world from the bondage of sin and Satan. How wonderful it is to have that kind of job.

If you are loyal in repaying the debt through the person to whom you are witnessing, there is nothing more important. Do you realize that you have to have that person gain something out of you in witnessing to him? Only in that way can you repay the debt you have toward God. Do you realize that? Then, you will not be put to shame before God and before people. Do you understand? You must remember at all costs the conclusion. You are indebted in so many ways that you sometimes have to repay the debt with your eyes, your nose, your mouth and your every sense.

You have now joined in the great cause of this movement -- to witness to people in such a way that you will be giving out yourself, your whole being, your everything. You must feel the blessedness of belonging to this group, especially when you are single men and women. You have a vast and promising future before you. People will be attracted to you and will think highly of you.

I hope that you fight through the battle and make it a victory. In a word, you are going to witness to people for your own sake. At long last you will have worked for your own self, not for God, not for the people, but for your own self. In your doing that the whole spirit world will be mobilized to help you, in aid and cooperation with you. You must be grateful for that.

Change of Blood Lineage (1)

Today, my subject is going to be the transition of blood lineage or 'Change of Blood Lineage." Up to the present moment there have been many theologians and scholars and others who have been thinking that if there is a God, why does He leave the world as it is? It is more than a serious question to them. If there is a God, why does He do this? If there is a God and if God is omnipotent, omniscient, then why does it take so long to resurrect and to restore mankind? If God is going to restore us all, He must be anxious to restore us as soon as possible. There is something grave in this question. From God's part, too, it is a grave question. He cannot do just anything, in a way. Then, what must be that grave question that would cause God not to be able to do things at His own disposal?

When you are asked what is the greatest of all in the world, you will name your life. Your life is the greatest and most important thing. If we think again, what is greater than life itself? Your answer could be love -- nothing else. No knowledge, no authority, no position, nothing else but this -- your love. Our desire is to live through eternity -- nothing else. When you are asked what you would want to have, what you would want to live with, the answer must also be: "love." Life is in your possession already. If you live on through eternity, you can say you have attained your purpose or your desire. But there is something else you need. You don't just want to live on without love. Love is the central thing that you wish to have. We are enjoying our lives -- life is here. There must be something corresponding to love in God, because He is the subject of life. Can God enjoy His life or life element without something else -- without love? No, however omniscient and omnipotent He may be, by Himself alone, He cannot enjoy happiness. He cannot be happy, have ideals, joy or whatever.

Suppose there is a man he is dancing and screaming out of joy by himself, without any object to talk to or to reflect his happiness. Then we would call him crazy. Would any one of you here think that you could be happy without anyone else around you? You say you are happy because you have your parents, or your spouse, etc. You say, "I am happy because I have you with me." Isn't that true? So, any ideal joy, happiness or anything of virtue cannot be brought about without having an object. Strictly speaking, you are happy not because there is a flower, but because you see the flower. The flower means something to you. You are happy not because there are sounds, but you are happy because you are hearing the sounds, listening to them. You are happy not because there are smells, but because you are smelling them. You are happy not just because you have someone beside you, but because you can have him, touch him, feel him and everything.

You can come back to say that in the world where you do not have an object, there is no joy, no ideal, no happiness. However hard you may struggle going about looking for things by yourself, there is no happiness. If that is true with human beings, then the same applies to God.

We are told that God became grieved due to the Human Fall. Then, what element in Him causes that? What would respond to the Human Fall? If you don't have your object, you have nothing to lose there, but without your object, you cannot even say you are sad, if it is originally so. It's only after you have lost your object where he had been before you that you feel unhappiness and sadness. Isn't that true? Then, in what position were human beings in the beginning that God was made so sad at the loss of them, due to the Fall? Then, we can imagine that human beings were in the position of object to God as the subject. In what way were we as object to God? We must think of His creation of man and in what position He put man at the time of his creation. Is a human being less than a monkey? When we look through all the creation, we cannot find anything greater -- we are the masterpiece of His creation. When we look into ourselves, we find that our body is a mystery, a palace of mysteries. The appearance of the human being has something great and mysterious in it. Then God being the greatest Lord and Absolute One, what if you were in His position, whom would you choose out of all the creation as your object? It must be man and nothing else. If God is at all the subject of life, the object of His life must be man -- no one else.

God, being eternal, would He want man to be an ephemeral being, dying away into naught? That's never possible. We can come to the conclusion that the eternal God must have wanted man to be eternal in some way. If God, the omnipotent one, had not created man eternal, He would have to make him that at all costs, in some way. Isn't that true -- isn't that logical? Then, we can define that human beings must be eternal in some way at least.

We say that God created man as His object -- object of life, of course, but more than that in what way could man be His object? The object just to look at, to walk with, what? In what way are we His objects? (Objects of His love!) Yes, nothing less, nothing more, nothing other than love. After the Creation, God must have looked around the whole Creation seeing that all the creatures were beautiful and good. Especially when He saw all the beautiful flowers blooming in the field, it must have brought joy to Him... chirping birds, flying butterflies -- all those things made Him happy. He could say that He was happy, all was good. It is because He loved those things. Anything you look at -- the flowers or anything else, when you say it's cute, lovely, then you are loving them already. You have pet animals and you love them. In the U.S., I have often witnessed women walking with pet animals and they even felt like kissing them. If you can love flowers, birds, animals -- how much more would you love human beings? If you smile at the puppy, does he smile back? If you talk to a bird and tell him to sing with you, would he do that, could he understand?

However beautiful the flowers may be, if you want them to dance with you, would they do it? But with another human being, if you want them to do something with you, they would respond to you. Because you say let's dance, let's sing and the moment you begin to sing he would do the same with you.

If God, in the subjective position is angry, the object must be like that. He is putting God in the subjective position. Wherever God may go, man in the objective position will want to follow Him. When we reach that point, we can safely define that man is the only object with whom God is pleased. Then, we know that man is the only one of virtue and value to God and God cannot but love man. You can be so confident as to say that without me God cannot be happy at all. Is it true? (YES!) Man in the beginning had been in such a relationship with God, but what made God sad? What took man away from the bosom of God? What made God sad? If there had been any enemy before God, would He have wanted to take away what was most dear to God or what was a little less valuable to Him? (Valuable!) Are you sure?

Satan is more clever than you. It must have been the same with him, isn't it true? (Yes!) Satan set his eye on what God would treasure -- would think highly of. He wanted to take away God's object to be his. What did you say there was in God? Life and love itself. Life is in you; he could not take it away. But love is something vacillating and he could take it away from you. He could not take away your life because you are life itself and you will fight against him. Something he can take away from you is that which 1s in the objective position to you. Love is the only thing that had the possibility of being taken away. Suppose that Martin is in the subjective position and your object is there and there is a possibility of your object being taken away by somebody else. There are two ways that an opponent can take something away. Either by force or with more love than Martin has towards her. Isn't that true?

What or who at all could take Adam and Eve -- who were in the objective position to God -- away from God? The Fall -- the taking away of man -- must have been done centered on love. When Satan wanted to take man away he worked on the female first. The theologians say that in the beginning, Adam and Eve ate of the fruit of the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil that caused them to fall. But ho'" on earth could they eat of that fruit if it was forbidden of them to eat by God? There were so many other delicious fruits. There is no logic in that. There are so many Christians who believe in such an unbelievable thing. With that kind of belief, how can all Christians save themselves? They can at best save something corresponding to the value of that kind of food -- the value of the fruit maybe. Do you want me to talk in details or just by leaps and bounds? (Details!) It will take me hours, is that all right?

I said Eve was tempted or taken away by Satan. That could happen either by force or by more love than her spouse would have been able to give her. Then, at that time, was Eve in perfect love with her spouse? If that is true then nothing could have taken her away from complete love. First love is something that is strongest, greatest. Until your death, you will never forget about your first love. If Eve was in complete perfect love with Adam at that time, the first love being the strongest one, nothing could have taken that love away from them. Nothing could take it away if the love had reached maturity. Love was the only thing. In other words, life was there in the perfected form of the creation, but love was not quite at that standard. Love stayed in the position where it was not perfected or created at all. Something which was perfected at this creation can play the role of perfect object to him, while if it is not quite in that situation stage, he cannot play the role of subject to that object as perfection.

Because love was something that had to be perfected between Adam and Eve, He had to wait until that love was perfected by them, and only then could He commence His providence of restoration of man. We must put things in order from there.

Our conclusion is that God can resurrect life lost, but not love. Love is something that must be perfected between male and female and He had to wait until that time. With that conclusion in mind, we have to compare ours to what we find in the Bible.

God is the God of principle, God of logic, and He will apply the same principle of creating man when He has to re-create and restore man to the original position. Because He created man first, male being, in the course of restoration or re-creation, too, He must locate one male being. God's providence of restoration all throughout human history has been to locate a male being having nothing to do with sin through whom God would develop the providence of restoration. The male being must have nothing to do with Satan, and not be in Satan's claim; so through that man, centered on that man, he is in place of God in a sense, he is the agent of God's operation, God is going to work through him to resurrect or restore mankind. That is the Messiah.

Do you need a Messiah? This is something requisite for man. Adam and Eve both fell before they reached the stage of maturity where they did not enjoy their life to the fullest and where they did not know what love was at all in perfection. But, Jesus Christ came to the earth as the Messiah, to restore all these things and by putting himself in the objective position of full life and love to God as the subject, he was commencing his work of restoration of the whole of mankind, with God working through him. Adam was in the position to dominate over or control Eve. And at the time of temptation of Eve by Satan, Adam should have influenced her or stopped her from being tempted. But, being immature at that time, he could not carry out that much. So, in the course of restoration, there must be a male being first found by God, erected by God. That male person must be able to locate his spouse.

Then, what must be the first purpose of the Messiah's coming to the earth? To find Eve and raise her and make her his bride. But could Jesus do that? No, and that's why he had to die on the cross. There is still some task left unaccomplished by Jesus and that must be accomplished in order to realize the ideal at the time of the Second Coming. That's why Jesus talked about his Second Coming when he found that he had to pass away on the cross.

It is only natural that, since God had lost in the beginning a male and female being in the course of restoration, He must first of all find a male and female being, who have nothing to do with Satan or sin and from then on He can commence His work of restoration. If that had been done even in Adam's time or in Jesus' day, or in other words, the perfect male and female in maturity put together resembling God's form with two elements of Himself, then He could operate through that couple and in that He will have direction of life and love and nothing could sever the love between them. The love being eternal, unchangeable and unique -- there could be eternal happiness and all ideals. If you are happy at all, happiness will be eternal. Is it clear to you? Once God had started loving men, He could not have stopped loving them and His happiness couldn't have turned into sadness. So, what He commenced could have gone eternally. Only the thought of it makes us happy.

Then, how happy must we be if we are entitled to live in that Kingdom? Our eyeballs would go back like this and every cell and hair would be dancing. Isn't it natural and logical? Then our conclusion is going to be to ask, when is God's providence going to end? It is the day when God's Creation is perfected in the form that He would want to have it. In that day, God will rejoice to say nothing of man. Any man here can protest to God, saying: "I am in a way better than you because without me you have no significance, no meaning, but with me and my spouse put together alone you can operate, bring man back to life, recreate man. So, I am better than you" You can even claim your love as being yours and not God's. He cannot but nod to you. Then you participate in God's work of restoring man -- recreating man and you can have confidence in the way I said. Did I make myself understood?

One hour has passed, but since I have had to use my interpreter, I have used 30 minutes. This is the most valuable thought or ideology, which no theologians or scholars have been able to give you. This is the core of the Divine Principle. You don't find what I am saying in the book of the Divine Principle. So, I have finished the introduction part. We have to reach there (pointing to the blackboard) the transition of blood lineage.

The Human Fall was caused by someone else staining the blood or the blood lineage of man through the fallen act. So, unless we can restore or shift the blood lineage into the original status, we cannot work the providence of restoration through man. God had to wait so long, through more than 6,000 years of sinful human history because He wanted to commence His providence of restoration by finding one man having nothing to do with stained blood.

Here is a man, Reiner [Vincenz]. Let's suppose that he has stained blood running through all his veins. So, you take him to the river and wash and wash him, all through 6,000 years trying to bleach him, doing everything you can to purify him. Can you accomplish that? Can you drain out all his stained blood? That's possible?

That's impossible. If you die away, then both God and Satan will lose someone on whom to work. So, both God and Satan had to work through human history, with a condition in between, whether or not man would have a positon on this or that side. There must be some law to apply there. But, one thing you must know is that God, being a God of principle, He cannot just take away anything unlawfully. So, anything which will suit the Law and the Principle will come to His position -- that's natural, very logical. Satan, on the other hand, being non-Principled, can claim anything without law and he can well claim non- Principled things. According to the Principle, things resembling God are God's. Man, too, if he doesn't resemble God, cannot be claimed by God.

God created man and man was in the lineage of God. So, if your blood is stained, He cannot claim you as His. Due to the Human Fall, you know too well that you are from Satanic blood lineage. Then, whose blood is it which is running in you? Satan's. Your body, whom does it belong to? You hate to say it, but it belongs to Satan. Your eyes, your mouth, your ears -- everything you have belongs to Satan. Can you ever desire to belong to God, if you are going to leave as they are? Therefore, in religions of high dimension, they teach us not to use our eyes, nose, month or ears in such a way that they will please Satan. You must go the opposite way. So, religious teaching will want you to deny what you have and what you are and it starts from denial -- not from approval or affirmation. The higher the religion is, the more strict the teaching is for that. Then are you ready to deny your eyes? Your ears? Your nose, mouth? You must deny your life -- that's what justifies the teaching of the Bible. It says that those who want to lose their lives will gain them and these who want to gain their lives will lose them.

Then, where do you belong? Are you going to go back to France, Germany, Italy or wherever you came from -- or to the Fatherland of your desire? (Fatherland!) There is no boundary among us. There is no Frenchman, German, Italian, British, Dutch or Austrian here. But for the Human Fall, do you think there would have come about so many languages? Language barriers were caused by the Fall. The languages of the birds are the same all over the world. The language of the sheep, cows, cats, dogs is the same all over the world. With man alone there is a language barrier. Without that I wouldn't have to use my interpreter. If men loved each other, they would not have wanted to be separated from each other; they would have wanted to come closer and cuddle together and talk together, and wherever they went they would want to associate and go back and forth and they could not have forgotten their own language. But, if disharmony exists, if you quarrel, you don't want to be with the opponent; you want to go this way if he wants to go that way and you would never want to eat whatever was made by your opponent. Disharmony was caused by the Fall.

But for the Human Fall. could mankind have used language other than the language of the first human ancestors? If it had not been for the Human Fall, all thought would have been concentrated on one thought: God. That would have been Adamism.

Adamism in other words is True Parentism. Since they have common parents, the way they talk, the way they do things, the way they think would have been the same. Is there anything else we can desire except Godism, True Parentism, True Brotherism, True Femaleism or True Maleism? Was there any such thing as Communism there? Those isms and ideologies ha e been canes to lean on for fallen man. But, ultimately, God is and will be left there. We have to recollect with a saddened heart that we have become Satanic children -- enemy to God.

Then, are you ready to put your flesh into trial or not? Are you ready for difficulties and hardships? Do you want me to drive you out into the field of death? Would you want to die on the level of the individual or for the sake of the family? (Family!) Are you ready to die for the level of the family or on the level Of the nation? (Nation!) Would you want me to drive you to the place of death on the level of the nation or on the level of the world? (World!) There have been fights and wars taking place in the world -- fights on the levels of individuals and families and nations -- but for what are we going to fight? We are to fight for the sake of the whole world on the side of God.

God is fighting against the Satanic force. Has there been any time in human history that all mankind has been mobilized in an all-out effort to fight for the cause of God against the evil power of Satan? Has there been such a time? (No!) Then, would you desire to have such a time? When would you have it happen? (Now!) Where? (Here!) You are now mobilized for that purpose-to fight against Satan in all-out effort. We must be armed with weapons so strong as to win over Satan. The Biblical passage saying that those who want to lose their lives will find them and those who want to gain their lives will lose them can apply to the individual and family levels, but not quite on the national or worldwide level. Then, who at all can carry out the mission to fight against the Satanic force on the national and worldwide level by gathering all the people of the world, transcendent of race, creed, color and anything else? In human history so far, men alone fought.

So far it has been this way because God's providence was that to locate a male being, it is true. But from now on, since in this time we have to locate the bride in the Biblical sense, we have to mobilize female folks, too, into the frontline.

Then, in fighting against Satan, God would want the female folks to win over the male. The female, troops on God's side must win over even the male soldiers on the Satanic side. Female folks on God's side must be able to win over the Satanic power of Communism. Are you ready for that? (Yes!) What you are doing here is done on the temporary basis. You are going to be sent out to the frontline. What do you expect in the future? To be well fed, well clad, to enjoy your lives here? (No!) If you vacillate like this and you look this way and that, then you are liable to be killed. In the battlefield, in the rain of the bullets, if you go straight ahead without minding whether you will be killed or not, then you will survive, but if you vacillate and try to dodge your way you are apt to be killed. Especially I warn the male folks against their being distracted. The female folks may think "there are streams of luxurious cars, skyscrapers, wellto- do people and I like American men better than the stingy Dutch men and the Germans and the proud British and the narrow-minded French. I would like to marry an American man -- they look so generous and abundant in the way they think, say things and act out things." But without being distracted or tempted by those things, you must be headed for one goal, staring at the target. In this way alone we will win the war. Are you going to be courageous or cowardly? (Courageous!) If you are ready to do that, if you are confident to do that, will you please hold up your hands?

I'll leave this subject until tomorrow. You must know that in detail so that you will have a clear picture of how there has been the removal of stained blood all throughout human history -- God's work through all the limited personages in the Bible. I can even give you all those things in a contracted form and since I am an expert in that line I can maybe give you all things in ten minutes and in that case I am going to talk as a waterfall, so I am going to leave it until tomorrow. Now that you have been resolved by holding up your hands, you resolved to go ahead and fight against the Satanic power in the battlefield at the cost of your life.

Being of different nationalities, we have different cultural backgrounds, customs and traditions. If you consider whether your own culture or tradition is the best one, the one God would cherish, you can never answer in the affirmative. In many things we still want to be proud of our own nation, pointing out its good points. Are those good points up to the standard which we can truly be proud of all through eternity and before all humankind?

In the history of every nation there is rise and fall. Sometimes it goes to the peak of its culture and sometimes it declines. The world as a whole is not the ideal place to live in, or to be proud of. If God exists, we know that this world is not the ideal place which God intended to have us live in. We know God is the utmost, absolute being. Are we pleasing God by our thoughts and actions? There are miles, laughter and happiness in the worldly sense, but after the human fall whether we smile or laugh heartily, those things don't really please God. Our source of happiness must be in God, but our being alienated from God brings sadness, misery. We must think and act in connection with God, centered on God, but the opposite is true. We are living in such a condition on the individual and family level. Those individuals and families form the world.

Since all this is due to the human fall, that kind of world is not pleasing to God. If God exists, He is sad at this situation and would want us to live in an ideal world. He will make one for us.

But the whole population of the world is from stained lineage, so in restoring the world into an ideal one, He cannot do it all at once, but little by little. He wants to work on the individual base, trying to locate a person who is entitled to that. He will then have a family, a nation and the whole world restored. First of all He must locate a person, one single man, a central figure.

He will make this one man known and influential in the whole world. His project is not a simple one -- it may take 50 or more years within the span of a century. So, God needs time. He will work gradually, restoring one by one or family by family. When He restores one person, we may think that He's working on that man alone. Or we may think that God is interested in just one particular family or nation.

Up to the present moment, when a Christian prays hard, leading a Godly life, he is trying to save himself. That needed his full effort. Next, he tries to save his family. They are used to doing that much, but not beyond that. They did not realize that if they really struggled to set up one nation under God's ideology, their families and they, themselves would be included in that scope. By setting eyes on broader things, those smaller areas are already saved or included. Today Christianity is declining, and that is the cause. The Christians have been unable to restore a nation as the solid foundation on which God can work. God wanted that done in that certain period of time; therefore, Christianity is doomed to decline from that point on, losing even the family and the individual. Every Christian believes that when the Lord comes the second time he will be here for himself, to save him and his family. No Christian realizes that when the Lord comes again he will establish a whole nation of God's choice, as a base from which He will restore the world.

There is no single Christian in the whole world who strongly believes that when the Second Lord comes, there must be a nation established for him to work on. If you are asked what would you want to save, you would immediately answer, not yourself, but at least a nation. Because you know that if you could save a whole nation, your family would be included there and so would you. So you and your family would also be saved.

If you recall, in the days of Jesus Christ the same was true. The people of that time thought that God had prepared 4,000 years of history to send Jesus to the Jewish people in order to save that nation. They thought and desired that when Christ came, he would take revenge on their enemy nations. They were the leading nation of the world and all others would come to their knees in front of them. If they had ever dreamed that when the Messiah would come, they would want to sacrifice themselves and their nation for the sake of the world, they would not have crucified Jesus on the cross. If you were in God's position, would you want to save the whole world, save one nation or just one individual? The answer is clear. God would have preferred to save the whole world. He would want any individual to be able to save the world any family to be able to save the world -- any nation to be able to save the world. Is there any single Christian who is thinking like that? Can we find such a religion in which they teach that -- even though it may be other than Christianity?

There may be religions where they teach how to save the world, but in that case they want to include other people of the world under them and in h end they want to subjugate them. But they don't intend to save the world at the cost of their religion or at the cost of the people of that religion.

As I told you yesterday, in the process of creation God poured out all His being into the created. This is to say, He denied himself in order to make the creation. In the course of restoration, also, the subjective person must be ready to pour out all his being into the objective person. So, in saving his family, nation and world, we must be willing to sacrifice ourselves, our family and a smaller group or individual or anything which we had to give up to save a larger thing. So, what I am teaching is the opposite to what other religions are teaching. Christianity has the ambition to bring the whole world including all other religions and all other people under them. Moslems and all other religions are thinking the same thing. We may reach the conclusion that, with an attitude like that we will never be able to establish the kingdom of God on earth.

Which individual, which family, which nation is God going to choose? As we have learned in the relationship between Cain and Abel, those who are in Abel's position will at first be defeated by those who are in Cain's position. Later they will win and have the final victory. It may be easier for us to do that in the family. Each family member may be ready to be beaten or sacrificed for other members of the family. Among the families it may be easy, because the family in Abel's position would be ready to do that. Between nations well, it's going to be a little difficult. Towards neighboring nations you have a good feeling and you want to sacrifice to some extent your own for the sake of the other. But beyond that where there are vast differences in terms of custom, traditions, and other things it may be difficult for you to want to sacrifice your nation for those nations. There is no religion which teaches that kind of sacrificial spirit. If that cannot be done by human hands, God has no hope to be able to restore the whole world, because He cannot do that by himself; He must work through man. If no one is ready for that task, God cannot save the World. But if there is any such individual or any such religion where they teach such theory, God will be pleased with him and with that religion; He will work through him and through that religion.

In this vast world He has never been able to locate that kind of religion, but we are here to fill that need. As members of the Unified Family, you must be ready to love your family more than yourself, love clan more than your family, love your nation more than your clan and love the world more than your nation. Everything is so clear with us. We think it's only too natural to have to sacrifice our nation in order to save the whole world. We think it's natural to have to sacrifice our family in order to save the whole world. We think it's natural to have to sacrifice our own selves to save the family.

When you have won victory on the individual level, having saved yourself by beating your fleshly side to obey your mind, then what are you going to do? You will reach the world by going through the family level and national level. You are apt to think that after you have perfected yourself, you are going to be the boss in your family. That's what, at best, you want. But you are forgetting that you are here to save the whole world and even your family is for that. In the providence of God, your family is playing the role of a bridge to go through and across to the next level and stay there until we can save the whole world. Then what would you do to make your family a success in God's sight? It is not just for the husband and wife to love each other sticking to each other. But in loving each other and doing everything, you must be doing that for the salvation of the nation and for the salvation of the whole world. In order for you to be able to save the whole world you must know that you must be able to sacrifice your nation, and your family for the nation and the world. We are taught that we have to make offering to reach God or reach the salvation of the whole world. That means that what we are going to save at the cost of sacrifice is greater than the thing we are going to sacrifice.

When you are going to save your family at the sacrifice of yourself, you have already obtained a bigger thing -- your family -- at the sacrifice of yourself and when you are going to save your nation, at the sacrifice of your family, you gained the nation, which is greater than your family, and so on.

When you make an offering before God, would you offer Him leftovers? You would choose the best thing out of what you have and would want to sacrifice and offer that. What you cherish most will be your offering.

When Noah spent 120 years of the prime of his life in the business of erecting the ark, he was offering the best part of his life -- or anything he had -- to God. Abraham was in the position to have to offer even his wife to God -- even his dear and only child to God. For him it was more difficult than to sacrifice his own self when he had to sacrifice his son. The same was true with Moses. When he was going to offer the stone tablet, he fasted for 40 days and went through many difficulties and hardships. He was ready to sacrifice himself, his own life, in making the offering before God.

When God was going to have John the Baptist get ready for his mission for 30 years in the wilderness living on wild honey and locusts, God meant to have him sacrifice himself for the salvation of the nation. By denying his own parents, relatives, neighbors, his clan and nation, he was in the position to sacrifice himself, deny himself as the offering before God. When he was in the period to witness to the coming of the Messiah, he was in the position to have to deny himself, his family and all other things on order to receive the Lord. And he would have loved him, the Lord, more than his family, his clan, his own nation.

He was prepared for all that. So, God was on his side helping him. Why would God have him to be sacrificed for the sake of larger things? Because by sacrificing that one man of certain mission he would get larger and more precious things, which means Jesus. By doing that, he was going to locate his partner, which would be his clan, his nation and everything. At the cost of himself, he was going to find more precious things. The same is true with God. He would demand us to offer sacrifice, but from His part too, He has to sacrifice something for the salvation of man. In doing that, He had to sacrifice the man who makes the offering. That means God barely has that person, and already He is going to sacrifice him. In other words for instance, he would sacrifice himself for the sake of the nation, for the sake of the world, he is the only one through whom God can work, after searching for so long. We know that God, after choosing and preparing a nation to receive Jesus Christ, He was ready to sacrifice that nation for the sake of the world. The Jewish people, however, did not realize that fact. God was ready to sacrifice His chosen nation for the world, but they thought that the Lord would come to save their nation and put it above all other nations of the world and God would help them to do that.

If Master wasn't aware of that fact, through his experience he would have many opportunities to go against God or even deny God. God would have him go through that kind of trial so many times. Sometimes a voice from heaven would tell him to go and locate a certain person and do such and such thing -- that it would be a success. He would desperately try to find that person, to persuade him and after doing that, God would sacrifice that person and everything he had done, for the sake of broader things. He would be disgusted at times. He went through many experiences like that, even bigger than the first. He always expected a bigger challenge. All those bitter experiences taught him lessons.

I brought you here and I am going to do some great things in this country. But perhaps you may be skeptical, wondering why I didn't take you to Korea instead, to restore the chosen nation. Why did I bring you to this nation? There are reasons for that. If I brought you to Korea and had you work for the restoration of Korea, it would be good for Korea to be restored in the nearest possible date, but that's only establishing a national base, not a worldwide base. Here we are working to save the whole world. Since this is the nation that leads the world, what we accomplish here will influence the whole world. So, I am setting my eyes on that. I will make you worldwide and, with the least possible effort and in the soonest possible date, I will influence the whole world. If you are ready to do that you must be determined to go through 1973 and up to 1974. The reason why I have brought you here in 1973 is for you to participate in that great task. Now that you are here you must pray not for your own nation, not only for Germany, Italy, etc., but for the whole world. When you pray, think of our Fatherland, not Korea, but the kingdom of God on earth -- that's our Fatherland.

In Jesus' days he failed in his mission because the prepared people of Judaism and the chosen nation of the Israelites did not cooperate with him but killed him on the cross. This time, back in Korea, I was able to influence the Christians and the government. Both the government and Christian people are in favor of our group and recognize that they need our help. With that accomplished, I can develop the broader scope of providence here. What I have achieved on that level must be transferred to this country in order to be connected to the worldwide level.

Everything I do has a significance; nothing comes about meaninglessly. On my way back last time I was here, when I was in Free China doing certain things, back in Korea a great event began to occur: the South-North dialogue began to take place. Since things on the spiritual level had been accomplished on the physical level, the freedom loving side imitated talks with the North Korean regime.

The South-North dialogue is an historical, world event. Until that time, Master had not met any of the well-known personages in Korea, even though they wanted to meet him, but after his public speech in the Western world, then he began to meet them. He met famous ministers, famous presidents of universities and religious leaders. They had been anxious to meet him. From that time, he began to propagate our movement in a very forceful and convincing way.

If our work here is successful, I will bring back this fruit to God. I am here in great haste, impatient to carry this out within two years' time. We must always be sensitive to the time element. There's God's demand on how and when to do it. We must be victors. We are sure to get victory. What are you going to do then? Has there been any nation that God could claim as His? Can we say that the USA is on God's side -- or Britain or Germany, or any other nation? There has never been any nation on the spiritual or physical level that God could claim as His. The Christians are a nation in the spiritual sense, but there is corruption there and God cannot claim it as His.

Then, what is God's desire, our desire? That is to restore our Fatherland which God can claim to be His. In order for us to be able to do that we must get rid of the Satanic condition and by making our project a success, we can establish our own nation which God can claim as the kingdom of God on earth. At all costs, even at the sacrifice of ourselves, we must be able to establish the kingdom of God on earth. We are here for that.

We have the sovereignty, but where is the land? In God's divine providence, Korea is the chosen land. On the spiritual base we are going to connect Korea with all other nations and the whole earth's plane is our land for God to claim as His. In order to collect those lands without national barriers, we are going to send out missionaries as soon as possible to some 120 nations, at least, by May of 1975. By that time the whole earth will be our Fatherland. In God's sight there is no national boundary. With all nations put together, they will be one people in God. With all those people in cooperation with each other, we are going to build God's kingdom on earth. To do that is your mission as well as mine.

(To someone in the audience): Peter [Koch] is just an individual man, but you must be proud of being the representative of all the people of the world as citizens of the kingdom of God on earth, our Fatherland. You must have the same ideal, same thought, each one of you. The US, as well as all other places, will be our future land. Above all the worldly sovereignties, God must be the ultimate one. Originally, God will reign over all the world with True Parents under God's ideology. Then, the ruler will love the people as his own children. This is the place where Adam and Eve, without fall, could have played the role of True Parents to all mankind -- beginning from his family where God could operate. If Adam had not fallen, the family under him would be the world. With the process of multiplication, he could have played the role of the first ancestors and all the people of the world could have been the citizens of the kingdom. It could have been the beginning point of having people, sovereignty, land, which could be called the kingdom of God on earth. The world sovereignty, the kingdom of God, will start from that one point where Adam and Eve were the parents to their family, and after the multiplication of the population of the world, they could have been placed under the sovereignty of God. That was the position of the human ancestors without the fall.

In the path of restoration every one of you must be thinking of yourselves as the starting point. You are going to be blessed and give birth to your children and you will be the true ancestors to your descendants and from then on you will have land, people and sovereignty of yours and all will be citizens of the kingdom of God.

The whole earth being our land, the whole population of the world being our people, God's sovereignty will reign over all mankind. You must strongly believe that any woman is the representative of the female beings on the earth and you must put yourself in the position of the mother to the descendants of all the people of the world. If you have true faith in the Divine Principle, you men are the representatives of all the male beings of the earth. The whole earth will be God's land, the whole population of the earth will be citizens of the kingdom of God and the sovereignty of this world will be God's sovereignty. We must pray for the day and fight for it in utter gratefulness. My conclusion is that we have the glorious Fatherland as our mission directly ahead of us. We are going to fight a glorious battle for that cause and we are going to sacrifice ourselves for that cause and we are destined to be the glorious citizens enjoying the kingdom in the love of God. And for that cause let us march on.

In 1973, let us safeguard the Unified Front

As you all know, this is the first hour of the first day of 1973, the New Year. From today on, you will enjoy 365 days, and I hope all those days will be glorious ones with you dedicated to Father.

Last year I gave you the motto for the year: "Let us safeguard the Unified Front." This is going to be our motto until we will have finished the whole restoration of the world, but for the three most important years, beginning with 1972, through 1973 and to 1974, those most important critical years, this will remain our motto. You will see that all these three years will be most important ones in the history of restoration. Knowing of the importance of those years, as the children of God, we must dedicate ourselves to carry out our missions in those critical and most important years. We can see the Unified Front all around. In our Family, in our nation, in the whole world, we are heavenly soldiers on the Unified Front. We must know what is required to carry out our mission to safeguard the Unified Front.

According to the Principle, how the harmonious action of give and take occurs between the subject and the object is always the question. On the vertical level, our conscience must be put in the place of subject to our body, centering on God. God is the subject, our conscience is the object. There must be harmonious oneness between those two. To bring the oneness on the vertical level and the oneness on the horizontal level together is to become the wholesome fruit of creation. The point where things on the vertical level and things on the horizontal level meet, that is the place where God operates. With those at one point, we can proceed on the line of progress.

On the level of the individual, our mind must be one with God. That mind of ours which is one with God must become one with our body, and then there is created the factor of unification. Let us gain the point where God operates and where we can abide without reservation in the life with God. That point is never invaded by Satan, nor can evil invade there. With that foundation laid, we can act towards our goal, repelling evil, creating good, and pushing on the good side.

But due to the human fall, we are in the position where we are not quite one with God; that is, our bodies are not one with our minds, which tend to be with God, so we are apt to be invaded by Satan. Our mind, also, is vacillating, always going astray from God, not to speak of our bodies. Since we are placed in that position, we cannot say we are quite one with the Principle or God. The motto "Let us safeguard the Unified Front"; this means a lot for us, and is greatly significant also in our making ourselves one with God. The way of safeguarding the Unified Front is to lift everything on the unified level, from the individual level, to the family, nation, and worldwide levels, broadening in scope.

To think of things centered on ourselves is wrong; we must first of all become one with God. As an individual, suppose there is a male, and the male must become one with God. That male person who is already one with God must become one with his wife as his object. In that case, the male person has become one with God on the vertical level; and on the horizontal level, he tends to become one with his spouse. Then there is already the unified front created there.

With the male and female put together, they must become one with God. And centered on the couple, their children must become one with them. In that case the unified front is created on the family level. On the triumphant base of the unified front on the family level, the next level must become one with the family level, and still next must do the same thing with the previous one. To speak of things centered on the national level, the same thing must take place; that is, if there be any nation on that level, all other nations around it should become one with that nation. In order for that nation to do that, the nation must become one with God on the vertical level, and then it will be possible for it to become one with other nations on the horizontal level.

Individuals in the subject position, families in the subject position, and clans and nations in the subject position, must become one with the others on the same level as their object, and only by their having become one with God is the other thing possible. By any individual doing that -- broadening his scope to the national level -- then alone the nation can become one with other nations, centered on God. If, in God's sight, one nation is already decided to become that, then other nations are destined to become one with that nation. In that case, that nation must become entirely one with God, without reservation. Then centered on that nation, any other nation must play the role of the nation in the objective position. If other nations, suppose one, two, three, four other nations become one with the central nation, with that great power, God can operate the action of give and take, and the whole world can be unified under God.

With all this in mind, we must strive on, but we can say this is no simple job. You know too well how hard it is for us as an individual to become one with God. For you to unite with your spouse, the other sex is also difficult, as you'll find. But even if you have become one with your spouse, to become one with your children is another difficult thing. On the family level, if you, as the parents to your children, will try hard, things are not too difficult, maybe, but when you go beyond that level, it will become more difficult. Suppose there is a central family. To unify other families with that family would be very, very difficult. When you try to make other clans into one with the central clan, it will be even more difficult.

On any and every level there are two elements: one in the position of Abel, and the other in the position of Cain. Harmony between those two is always difficult. Even if we have found one nation, to have other nations become one with that nation is more difficult than on the previous level. Unless we can absorb other nations centered on the nation of the central mission, we cannot quite well say that we can restore the whole world on the next level. Anything taking place in the world without being united with God through the central figure of God's choice is apt to be evil. Roughly, the whole world is divided into two sides -- that of good and that of evil. In dividing the world into two, history has divided one nation of historical importance into two. In dividing that nation into two, the division is made to separate a homogeneous people into two clans under different ideologies. In dividing up one individual also, there is a division between the body and the mind in one person. Then we can safely say that there must be one individual in whom God will have put his mind and His body together into one centered on Him, and there must be a family around which other families must be united into one.

Going back to the origin of the human fall, we must point out the fact that there was division in Adam's family. What caused Adam and Eve to fall, and what brought about the division in the family, is the question. The fall came about, or division came about, when they did not think of unification of becoming one with God -- but thought of self-centered things. Whereas they had to think of the central figure, they thought of things self-centered in such a way that they did not even think of each other. The spouse of Adam, that is to say Eve, did not think of God either. Eve did not think of Adam. She was inclined to utilize him to justify herself. Then what at all can bring those two into one? Due to the human fall, the first human ancestors could not quite play the role of True Parentship, so in the course of history, there must be sent True Parents in the place of Adam and Eve to play the role.

For that central figure to be able to carry out this mission, he, contrary to the fact that the other couples went against God's will, must do things centered on God. He must go the reverse way. He must not be thinking of thin s centered on himself, but on God. Due to the self-centeredness of Adam, his position on the individual level, family level, and all the rest of those levels was nullified. So this person, when he comes, must do things centered on God, so that he will have perfected himself on the individual level, perfected his family, his nation and all the rest, thus laying the foundation for the divine plan of salvation -- to restore the whole world under God. On the individual level too, he must make his mind become one with God, make his body one with his mind, and make himself one with his spouse, too. He will become one with God first, and then become one with his spouse. And with family, too, he will make his family become one with God, being able to absorb other families or have them become one with his. With this personage as a True Parent, any individual, in order to become one with him, must be like him, and without self-centerdness, must become one with him. And any family, any clan, any nation must become one in that way. You must either become a part of him, or even play the role of a piece of his clothing to protect him. In that case, what he has won will be yours and will be inherited by you.

Suppose there is a central family with him as the nucleus. Then, if you try to become one with that family, you are already one with him on both the individual level and on the family level. You must also be able to put yourself in the position of the True Parents. In other words, you must always be thinking of the central figure, and put yourselves there, into perfect oneness with him. What is there in that nuclear point? That's always the True Parents. Only having become one with that nuclear or central figure, you can and will become one with your spouse. And then you must go OIL trying to make other levels of people become one with him and with you also. In that case, with those people together in harmonious oneness, if you work hand in hand for the great cause of God and for the sake of the whole of mankind, this world will at last be restored in the bosom of God.

I would like you to be that kind of members. We are the secret ambassadors, spying out what's happening in the Satanic world. When you are playing that role, you are always directly connected with the one who sent you with the highest merit. So you must be qualified enough to carry out your mission spying out the Satanic world. God is watching over you, and He will lend attentive ears to what you have to say in report to Him. If you are the spy, if you are the secret ambassador by using whatever possible secret channel, you at times would want to have something very precious would He not try to have it sent to you? You are in a similar position, with the serious mission of yours, given by God. So God is ready to help you if you cry out for His help in prayer. In that case, you will realize that Heaven is on your side, favoring you all the time.

With the power given by God, you can even lay hands on the sick peoples' heads and they will be healed. And when you cry out for help, God is already there, working hand in hand with you -- you will find that. And without your recognizing the fact, or without your realizing the spiritual power working through you, you cannot say that you are quite qualified enough for the job. If you are at all putting yourself in that position, the position of the secret ambassador, having to spy out what is happening in the Satanic world, you would always like to comfort the heart of the Heavenly Father with good news; and, if you go on doing that, you will find that He will be with you, abiding in you, and with that power alone can you carry out your mission as secret ambassadors.

If you are in that position, you will be anxious, won't you, to meet your comrades. In place of God, he will come to visit you in actuality, nourish you, and help you whenever you are in need; and you will be ready to rescue him too, it time of peril, won't you? As I have said before, you have to sacrifice yourselves for the sake of your nation, for the sake of your people. You must be able to place yourselves in that position -- always. If you really feel that you are one of such, at the close of every year, when you look back at what you have done, you will become really serious. And when you enter the New Year, you must be crying out anew for help from the one by whom you were sent. As a Unification member, if you place yourself in that position, in all seriousness and in utter faith in God and pray to Him, you will be answered, you will be helped, and all the blessedness will be yours. If you are really resolved and determined to do that for the New Year, can you raise your hands in pledge before Father?

Our way is to go the path that has never been pioneered before.

Just as we cannot change clothes while still wearing the old ones, so we cannot clearly see the New World until we have taken off the old concepts.

Don't try to plant seed and reap fruit for your own sake. Make both the motive and the result God's, and give Him the glory.

Goodness does not begin loudly. It appears without notice. But evil begins loudly; it appears with boasting, and then becomes insignificant.

Let Us Safeguard The Unified Front - God's Day Eve 1973

As I officially announced, the years 1972, 1973, and 1974 are the most spiritual and most historical years in the providence of God. In 1972 and 1973 we mobilized only a handful of people, but we have done quite a lot of things of significance in God's providence. From the point of view of providential significance, we know that America is not for America alone. Centered upon this land of America, we are going to develop the providence of God by our own effort. God has been preparing this nation for that purpose. We now see clearly that this nation is stalemated, at a dead-end, without having an opening to the everlasting future. Not only this nation, but the rest of the nations in the world are also stalemated, in a sense. If we leave this situation alone and go on like this, we'll come to no good end.

But can we find a breakthrough or a nation where we can work the providence of God anywhere else than in the United States? We can safely say no. Within this nation, too, there doesn't seem to be any breakthrough, and there doesn't seem to be anyone who can lead this nation past this dead-end. We know too well that this nation is blessed in the material sense more than the whole world, but otherwise, in the spiritual sense nothing in this nation excels.

In this nation, when we look around, we expect religious groups to do the job. Among all religions, we could expect Christianity to do the job, but in this nation the Christian leaders are powerless to do the job. During this decade, Christian society has been faced with corruption and decay, so we cannot say that there's any breakthrough in that society. There's no such denomination or any religious sect that can carry out the job. There's no such group to save this nation or the whole world.

In this reality, if there's any such group at all, it is going to be our group. We have already proclaimed that we are going to save this nation and the nations of the whole world, and not only this world, but the other side, the spirit world, we are going to liberate the whole cosmos from satanic bondage, and liberate God and allow Him to take His Sabbath. All through human history, as we see in the past, there was no such group as ours -- and not in the present, nor in the future.

God called us, and He gave us the mission to save this nation and the whole world. Beginning from 1972, our motto for two years was the same, "Let us safeguard the unified front." When we say, "Let us safeguard our unified front," it means we will safeguard ourselves as individuals, our nation as a whole, and the whole world, protecting and keeping the whole world safe and intact from satanic invasion. Just imagine: God is looking down upon the whole world, and there's only one small group like ours. There's no other group whom God can rely on. God has prepared for eternity. But among the Christians, there is no such group as ours, so God is a pitiful God; He can rely solely on us, no one else.

Seen from that viewpoint, you must realize how important and how vital we, the individuals in our family, are. We are not just individuals; we are in the position to take responsibility for the whole population of the world. We must realize that God is relying upon us to carry out the mission of saving the whole world -- our mission is so great. Would God want you to stop right where we are or advance forward? Can you safeguard the unified front by stopping where you are?

Only by advancing forward can you safeguard the unified front and fight through the way. We are the solid point of God's hope, the fruition of His hope and realization of His ideal. Whether or not you bring failure to God's providence or success to His providence depends solely on you. You have to create the situation in which God will be glad to say, "You have done a good job.'' We must be fruitful as the fruition of God's whole effort throughout history, and we must take responsibility for the salvation of the whole world at the present; we must be able to shoulder the responsibility for the rest of our lives. Out of the whole population of the world, we are in the central part of God's providence. When you don't stop where you are but advance forward with responsibilities on your shoulders, then God's hope will be on us, and we will realize God's ideal through ourselves.

God is a historical God. And God is the God of the present, and the God of the future. We must be the group seen by God as the good and reliable group, from His viewpoint of past, present and future. If we are the only group on whom God can rely, how great His expectation must be. God would want us to use our five senses, and to do anything in place of Him. What nation will God see with His eyes? I think He's looking at the United States right now.

If it had not been for our group visiting this nation, God would be a disappointed God. But with our group present in this nation, He has hope. We must realize again how important our nation is. We must cling to this nation and not let it go, until we realize our mission. We must make the whole world great in the providence of God. If you are resolved to make this nation the leading one of this great world, God will be ahead of us, paving the way for us. If we carry out the mission in this nation, while we are doing the job all over the world in the rest of the nations, then God will rely on us, and will pave the way for the rest of the nations, too.

If that is true, can we stop here or advance forward? Can we just become bystanders, looking at others doing the job? If you are in that position, what must your attitude be, and where are you bound? Can you go wherever you want? Suppose God has already set the goal ahead of us; we cannot go zigzag; and we cannot go astray. We cannot follow the example of the religions in the past that were not able to carry out God's providence. Up to the present, all religious sects sought only individual salvation. We cannot follow them.

Instead of being indebted to anyone or to God, we must have God indebted to us. We must be newly resolved to save this nation and drive this nation towards the goal; not only this nation, but the nations of the whole world. In all ways, whatever you do, wherever you go, you must bear in mind that you are responsible for the salvation of this nation; you must be on the job every moment of your life. Our members in many nations are focusing their attention and concentrating their efforts on saving those nations where they are stationed. You are mobilized to do the job in this nation. You must advance forward in the vanguard of other people in other nations. You must resolve that the United States does not exist solely for you but you exist and are living for the United States. You cannot expect this nation to safeguard you. so you are going to safeguard this nation. You are pioneering in this nation, to save this nation. So you cannot expect any others or this nation to "help me." but we must be waiting to help this nation.

We have mind and body in ourselves. Our mind should be associated with God, but now it is separated. We must put God and mind together, or we are not qualified to safeguard the unified front. Your minds must be one with God's will. God's will is to save the United States and the whole world. Our will, also, must be to save the whole world. God has advanced forward without vacillating. We must follow God, going straight on. With our mind united with God, our body must become united with our mind.

Our mind is plus to our body, but our mind must be one with God. God's mind and our mind put together must be plus, to attract our body. Then our body must be one with God. Our body has five senses. The five physical senses must function with God's will. In our every nation, we must go steadily on towards the goal set before us by God. In that case, God will abide in us, pushing us towards the goal, the unified front.

However our mind is separated from God and our bodies are separated from our minds. There are two gaps to be breached, but it is difficult for us to fill them. Satan can encroach then, so we must safeguard ourselves. Unifying means that our mind is unified with God. Unity between the three -- God, mind, and body -- is most important. If these three are in harmonious unity, they will be multiplied by give and take action between them, and the four positions will be intact. To safeguard the unified front, first of all we must unify our mind with God and our body with our mind, those three becoming one. You may find yourselves not quite helping God but God is still helping you, and trying hard to create in you unity with Him. When we think of that, we have no time to loose; we cannot afford to think of ourselves. We must be able to use our five senses at any moment for the will of God.

Are your eyes, nose, mouth, and ears functioning for the will of God alone? You should not be seeking the pleasures of your eyes, nose, mouth and ears. Before God you must always say that you are not satisfactory in God's sight, and you have to do more and more. You must become a handful of clay out of which God can make a mold and create another self from you. There's no other way possible.

If you have your own will or goal, God cannot be with you. Your eyes, nose, mouth and all your five senses, your whole body, have satanic elements in them. We must remove these satanic elements. We must leave everything in God's hands. If He pushes us, we will go forward; if He pulls us backwards, we will go that way. In every direction we will be led by God. If you live for yourselves alone, you will be distracted and go astray. The most fearful thing in the whole world is nothing else but you yourselves, because you are the voice of Satan: you are easily dragged away by Satan, and work in accordance with his satanic will.

We have been proclaiming, "Let us safeguard the unified front," but now we find that we have not been safeguarding the unified front, but we have been trying to safeguard by remorse. You must realize that God has been working hard for us, and we are indebted to Him greatly. We must be strongly resolved that from this moment, when 1974 is dawning, we will not let God safeguard us, but we will do the job ourselves. We must be able to save our brothers and sisters, to save our nation and all the nations.

Suppose there is a male being and his mind is entirely one with God, with those two together his body, which is in the objective position, will become one in harmonious unity. He's a perfected man, but he cannot stand all by himself, he needs his mate; there must be a female in the same position with her mind wanting God. After having realized the unity in yourselves, then you must locate a spouse and be united into one. If every girl accomplished unity between the three elements, that kind of ideal son would be multiplied, and there would be no need of safeguarding the unified front because unity is already there.

What about the blessed couples? Are you in perfect unity like that? If you have not realized that much, it means that you are not safeguarding the unified front, but God is safeguarding you, with toil and effort. If in a family either of the two has realized that unity, the other must be in utter obedience to him or her. In the American families, if a husband has a different opinion, the wife can object, and they quarrel with each other. That cannot be done in our blessed couples.

If in a family the husband and wife are one with each other, then the husband as subject and the wife as object become one and play the role of plus towards their children, who are in the position of minus. If the parents and children become one with each other, then the whole thing will become plus, influencing other families. If there is no unity in a family, you are not safeguarding the unified front in your family, but you are having God safeguard your family. That's why he said if you have disunity in your family it will create great trouble for the rest of the world.

If any such family in harmonious unity is created, then that family must play the role of plus to other families in this clan. If all the families in this clan play the role of plus, then other clans must be influenced and absorbed into that clan from the position of object. We call ourselves the Unified Family. If the trunk is there, can the branches and boughs grow in accordance with their own will? If they go astray, they are broken and lose their lives. They must cling to the trunk and get nutrition from the roots through the trunk.

From that viewpoint, are you alive, safely attached to the trunk, in unity? (Yes!) If you are asked to die for this nation and for the whole world, will you be able to do that? (Yes!) While the rest of the world is fast asleep, we must try to unify and come to harmonious oneness here. You don't know at what moment you can become one with yourself. God has His own ideal of what is the best moment to unify the minds of the people, and the one who is already unified with God will have the same opinions as God. You must go in accordance with the will of those unified with God. If our Master is already one with God, you must become one with him and then you will become one with God.

The formation, growth, and perfection stages put together must be in unity. We as individuals must stand on the base of three stages put together. Things come in the number three -- even the division of your fingers. You have two eyes, but they must be focused on one place, the two nostrils on one point. Your upper lip and lower lip sets on one purpose; your ears, too. So, perfection will be brought about at number three. When you hold something with two hands, the object put together becomes number three. That is why the Divine Principle teaches us that everything created is based on number three.

We say we have our body and mind -- that's two-but in our mind there's a part where God can abide, and these three must be one. The leader must be one with God, always. A state representative must first of all become one with God; and then with God and himself put together, playing the role of plus, he must be able to meet and absorb the group as his object. If God's will and the will of our members all over the world become one, then it is easy for us to carry out our missions. Then the whole world will be absorbed and digested. In ourselves, too, our mind is in the position of subject, manipulating our bodies.

But because of the human fall, there's disunity and disharmony. If our mind is firmly one with God, then with us as object it can manipulate the rest of the body, and the body and mind put together can manipulate the rest of the people. In that case, even though your body won't go this way, some force will pull you back to the right direction. God is here, and God and our mind put together are stronger than the physical body. If there's perfect unity and harmony between our mind and body, then this is a perfect object to become one with God. Just try at least for three years to concentrate your efforts on making your mind and body into one, and you will experience God abiding in you, working through you. That's why Principle teaches us that when our mind and body are one, God operates through us.

The Bible teaches us, "Blessed is the peacemaker, for he is the son of God." Peacemaker means to make the people united into one. The principle of safeguarding the unified front is here. Jesus and his spouse must become one; then that family is in the subjective position, and with the children as object the whole family will play the role of subject to other families. That's the theory. If that family can absorb other families in the objective position and become one with them, then that clan can influence other clans, and in this way the whole nation will become one and God will abide there and that nation will be the strongest nation in the whole world.

By being dishonest, by telling lies, you cannot realize God's will. You must know that. You cannot deceive yourselves. In that case, you cannot put your mind and body into one. We must be naked in God's sight leaving everything in God's hands; in that way we can have God working for us. Whatever person I post as your leader, and wherever that leader is posted, the members under him must try to become one with him, and he in turn must become one with God. Wherever I go I hear complaints -- speaking ill of your leaders. In that case, the members under the leader are also playing the role of plus, and two pluses repel one another so disharmony naturally comes.

Two pluses will cancel each other. You must be able to become minus to your leader. In the outside world, too, if you are harmonious with your boss, and are able to please him and do whatever you are told, you are apt to be promoted. If you minister to your leader, and if you are strictly obedient to the leader, and if the leader cannot carry out his mission, he is doomed to be fired from the position, and you may even be elevated to his position. If there is a leader who is not qualified enough for the job, but is temporarily stationed there, and he is a rigid boss over you, but you are strictly obedient even though you are more qualified for the job, and you are working hard under him, that may go on one year, two years, three years. Eventually, the boss cannot remain in that position and you will be promoted to the position in place of him.

God is almighty and omniscient, and He knows what kind of man our leader is. If I'm driving you hard, and giving you orders to do things impossible for you, then God knows that, and God will leave you alone: if you just struggle hard, desperately hard to carry out your job and this person does not do the job and leaves it, making you do it for him, then he will be dismissed. In the early spring you see trees budding out. If you stop where you are, it looks like the buds never grow. But if you advance forward, it is like buds growing in life, flowering and growing. When I want you to do something I do it myself first.

In my past I have experienced a bit of everything. As a laborer, too, I'm first-class. No one can exceed me. I'm almost a champion in wrestling. Those who are ready to be indebted to others will be disliked by others. It is safe for you to be followers instead of being leaders, so don't complain about the leaders. By being followers, you pave your own way and by mastering whatever assignments come to you, you gain more experience for qualification as a future leader. If you are obedient to the leader who is not qualified to be your boss, the people around you will become more and more aware of the fact and recognize your ability If your leader is not qualified enough, just be thankful that your ability can be used and that you can gain experience.

Don't complain while other people around you are complaining. Don't retreat while other people are retreating. If your leader is harsh on you, don't be bitter, just be more obedient to him. When he falls away from his job -- when he's dead -- you must be ready to even put flowers on his tomb. The chosen nation of the Israelites was doomed to perish because they could not become one with the Messiah, the son of God. Christianity did not become one with Jesus and one with their leaders so they are doomed to ruin.

Whether or not the Unification Church will prosper will solely depend on whether or not we become one with each other. If I'm not one with God and you are strictly obedient to my command, then God will either kill me or just remove me from this position. Now you know the secret of safeguarding the unified front. We must be able to restore a whole nation as a unit before God. Would you rather choose a small African country because it is easier to restore or the United States, which has been the leading nation in the democratic world?

This nation is the melting pot of many nations and many races, and the nation has already set the example of unity, in a sense. If in the United States we can have all the population in unity, this pattern can be adopted in other countries. Once asked by Master, members will readily go to their own country to save their nation. A certain number of Jewish people are here; I'm going to send them back to Israel to save that nation. They can do that. The same thing applies to France, England. There's no such nation as the United States where people from so many nationalities are living in harmony. I'm right to have chosen the United States for the job.

In order to influence Americans, I have mobilized many members from many nationalities. If you quarrel with each other, for instance, German people saying, "We can do a better job," and the Americans saying the same thing, and the British, and the French -- you'll quarrel with each other. Then will you be able to carry out the job? If you work in your respective countries, for instance, British people taking care of Britain alone, it is going to be an endless job. But if we mobilize all the followers from all the countries where we have our missionaries, restore this nation, and then restore other nations by mobilizing people from here to the other nations it will be much easier.

It is wonderful for us to have mobilized members from all over the world, and concentrated on the work of the salvation of the United States. Those from other countries don't speak fluent English, but on the frontline, you work harder than the Americans and two or three times as hard as other people. Then God is going to help you three times as much as you deserve. So, either our salvation or restoration of this nation will be three times faster, or the United States will remain in this jam, not being able to work with our group, and then it's doomed to perish.

So, if you members from other nations work hard even though you don't speak the language fluently, and if the people of the United States don't receive you, the blessing bestowed on them will be inherited by you, and like the branch engrafted to you, if you are removed, the blessing will go with you. So you are going to be thieves, robbing them of their blessing. You are in a way thieves, as the Messiah is going to be a thief in the night, coming to save the world. Without people's realizing who you are, they will be either saved or robbed of their spiritual wealth.

In the past years, there have been many people who would be led to us by the spirit side. Some had been in the mountains praying for ten years or more, and some had been training themselves in other religious sects. After coming to us, they would give us their testimony saying they have been doing this and that; they are so proud of themselves in the beginning. I would at once bow down before them and approve of what they say, and say, "I was not as holy as you are. That's true.

You have been starving, you have been clad in rags, and you have not been able to use what you like to have. I will be ready to give you all those things. Take them." But, in my mind, I know clearly on what level -- he or she is still vain on the spiritual level. If I praise the person, he will be proud of himself more and more and he will elevate himself. If he becomes arrogant, I will let him do that three times; then I will give him a way to follow my instructions.

I will tell him that he was sent here to follow me. "Do for me as I have done for you," I will tell him. My command will be strict, and he will be awestruck. Then from that moment I will tell him, "Clean the bathroom." Whatever good things you have accumulated, or done, your merit will be decided when you are humble enough to be ready to inherit that through anything. That is the formula for the established churches. I have been under severe persecution by church ministers and the laymen of so many churches, and I would be silent; after a while, God would help them and encourage them to follow me. Those who called me names and reviled me all the time; all ended up frustrated. Now we have reached the stage where people will think that without our group, they cannot see the salvation of Christian society.

The Korean government needs our Victory over Communism organization, and the Japanese government needs our Japanese chapter of VOC, and the Chinese government needs our Chinese chapter of VOC. The Korean government would want to become one with us and influence Japan and China under them. China would stick to us and would want to influence the Korean and the Japanese government. Japan would want to become one with us and influence the Korean and Chinese governments.

I have been saying that within three years I must make myself and my group well known in the whole country. Three years longer, and people will know of our movement to a certain extent, at least. Looking at America as a whole, we know that there's disunity, disharmony, and corruption. We are determined to turn this nation upside down, and in doing that, we will not want help from God, but we would rather have God help the people of the United States, preparing their minds to receive us. We know that God is a living God. You must know that God is working with us. Our group is entirely one with God's will, and if we are firmly united, then there's nothing to be feared. If you are confident, and if you really have faith in God and pray for healing a certain person, he will be healed. Those who are against you -- persecuting you -- will collapse before your own eyes.

So many millions of people are living in your state, and day and night, sleep or awake, if you think a moment, how to reach out your hands to save those people, and struggle hard, then God will be there, working through you and your project will be a success. So don't try hard to get help from God, but ask Him to go ahead and prepare the minds of the people to receive you and if you are strongly one with God and advance forward without retreating, without stopping, then it'll be easier for you to carry out your mission, and the whole state or people under your command will be absolutely absorbed in you.

You have learned through the Divine Principle that where there is the perfect plus, a perfect minus is sure to be created. When I was in prison, without even speaking a word I could witness to many people. Under persecution, under the bullets in Seoul, the whole spirit world was mobilized to protect me and testify to the people and make members. Father is helping me. He is ready to help me and He is helping you already. But if you are without faith in Him, He cannot do anything. We must come to the conclusion that to safeguard the unified front we should ask God to reach out to the people, and prepare the soil of their hearts.

You must take the initiative to become one with God. Wherever you go, you go with Him. Whatever you seek, you seek with Him. When you sleep, when you work, when you eat, you must feel that you are doing those things with God. If you go on doing things that way, then you will feel the presence of God and feel the hearts of the people with you. You sense the power and presence of God. Suppose you are visiting a village: you immediately grasp the nature of that village. You visit a town and before entering the town, you go up the highest mountain and pray for the whole place.

Then, someone there must be attracted to you and you will find him coming up the hill to you. Where there is a perfect plus, perfect minus is sure to be created. I know you have experienced many such things. Flower sellers, before going out selling flowers, pray hard the night before you go out and you will see that people cling to you, demanding to buy a flower. If you are on the street, ready to witness to the people, you will be God's right person. If you have such experience, you cannot deny the existence of God. That's the natural way, and especially the members of the Unification Church are qualified for that experience. If you pray hard and if you are ready to receive God's guidance, God will work through you.

Those who have seen me even in dreams, hold up your hands. It must be 100 percent. Even you yourselves must be like that. Any great leader who can save the whole country, if he's qualified for that he generally sees -- projects himself spiritually. You leaders must try hard for that.

When you have some information, before coming to me you must realize whether or not it will ease my heart, or cause me distress. When I look at you entering my room I already sense whether or not you have a good report. So, when you make your report, be honest and frank. It is because I have that quality that I can lead the whole group, and I can have the purpose of saving the whole world. If you recognize that qualification in me, just shut your mouth, and without complaining just follow me. You must clearly understand that, in order for us to be able to safeguard the unified front, we must not be indebted to God or anyone else. We must rather have God indebted to us. If we are at all asking God to do something for us, don't try to get His help directly to you, but ask Him to go beyond you and prepare the hearts of the people for you.

In 1965, when I made my first world tour, out of the 120 holy grounds I set up all over the world, 55 were in the United States. Even from that time I knew that I was going to come to this nation and concentrate our efforts here; to save the world from sin. I already calculate that in three years, if we concentrate our whole efforts on our project, then the whole population of the United States will receive us. I have a clear picture of what's going to happen by the years 1977 and 1978. Only I can't speak out now. I have a clear goal, so I've got to drive you hard, even though some of you will be victimized. In war, causalities cannot be avoided.

Are you going to go with me? Are you going to just follow me or are you going to go ahead of me, even pulling me? If I were you, born as an American, I would grab the time, and not let it go. This is the only moment when you can exercise your opportunity. After three years I will no longer be in the United States. So within those three years, you must lay your own foundation. I cannot leave the European nations alone. At that time, American members must be mobilized to help other nations. Within this year, the last one of the three crucial years, you must work hard and do your very best. I have a clear picture of what I'm going to do within this year, so you should observe and carry out every direction from me. In safeguarding the unified front in this last year of three crucial years, you must invest your whole being and focus all your attention. In doing that, don't rely on me. Don't rely on God. Don't have direct help from God, but let Him prepare your way, going ahead of you. And for your part, don't ever be indebted to God, to me, or anyone else.
