The life of faith is not connected with the pragmatic reality of this world, but connected with God. But we are living in this world of reality, a practical world, so we are confronting many practical issues on this earth. When we think about the world of reality in this world we can think of many practical things in living, but when thinking of the life of faith, it is not so, because it is a different realm. We seek, in this world, happiness and joy. You cannot have happiness by yourself. You must have another party to bring about happiness; e.g., some thing, some person, material things, academic achievement (intellectually seeking reality). So we are in a position to make a common critique of this world, through man, material things, or academic search. In this world, unless you make progress along the lines just mentioned, you don't feel happy. In other words, to achieve happiness and joy we need an objective stimulus. In order to reach a high goal and ideal, a period of time is needed in order to reach the goal and bring happiness. The problem is, how do we find an objective stimulus in the relationship between "I" and the object? Through it we will bring success.

Unhappiness, depression and despair will be produced if we fail to maintain that standard. In order for us to continue in this life, it is absolutely necessary to have a continuous positive and objective stimulus. The elements of success and failure will come out. How are you going to have this positive stimulus in your academic achievements? That is the key point to bring success. Although you set up lots of ideal standards in the world of reality, if we cut off this continuous stimulus, we are failing to reach that goal. Continuous positive stimulus applies also to the life of faith. But when I talk about the life of faith which we have in this world, there is sometimes no evidence or scientific method to prove this faith. The problem is, where can we find the source of positive stimulus in the life of faith? You have learned, and are learning, the basic teaching of the Divine Principle. Our Principle message creates a bridge that can decrease the gap between the reality of the world and the ambiguous realm of a life of faith. Whenever the problem of the life of human beings comes to the surface, the problem of substance or material things comes up. The problem of cognition or knowledge comes in. Here the realm of consciousness is very important.

So, the problem is: how are we going to make a connection between the life of faith and this world through our cognition? It is very hard to find the motive of this stimulus when we think only of human beings. There is no other way to set up a standard except by seeing and studying all of the central figures centering on God from Adam on, so that we may have a standard to look at. We have to study closely how these people, the past saints and sages, including God's dispensational figures, lived in their relationships with human beings, and how they interacted with material things.

Let us look at Noah, Abraham, Moses, John the Baptist and other dispensational figures. Al I these people are targets for our observation. We must be curious about their objectives and motives. This will be the issue. All of these great men started their life of faith centered not on themselves, but on God. Why do we have to respect and even worship them, and give them credit for their contribution? Simply because they received instruction from God, not from themselves. Also ' we should know what kind of life they lived for God in that age. We find that they had a conflict -- their life of faith versus the life of reality. We find that they were not of one will when they faced a conflict. Also, we find that they solved the problem when they centered on God, and not on themselves. Also, we know that because of this conflict between God's side and the world's side, they multiplied their persecution and suffering. That is why they are great people! Always we find that their life in this world was lonely because they suffered many, many things and were persecuted by this world. When they had nobody to convey their thoughts and feelings to, they could go only to God and talk to Him when they were lonely. Also, when we look at their lives in the world, their material lives -- they were so narrowed down, received so few material things; naturally, they turned their hearts and lives toward God. When we think of how they were living in consciousness, in this world their scope of consciousness was so narrowed down that they had to cognize everything centered on God. That was their life. Naturally they had to live their lives centering on oneness with God. In every area -- recreation with man, knowledge and material knowledge -- cognition, they plunged themselves into a relationship with God, because there was no one else to rely on except God. There was no place to have give and take horizontally, to seek the object, so they concentrated on finding their object in God, more seriously than they sought an object in this world. Because the reality of this world at that time was so narrow, then they had to rely on heaven to get through such a narrow opening to God -- and opened a new realm by embracing God with hope and having an ideal. Even if a narrow detour must be taken to God ' they, and we, are not supposed to be depressed. There is a way out. We cannot be discontented. God created all things for the purpose of happiness and satisfaction and contentment. When we reach this narrow detour, we will not be depressed, but we are going to find a way out with the help of God. That is the place where true happiness and contentment will be. From that narrowed-down point, the new relationship between God and ourselves will begin to open. For example, St. Francis emphasized pure poverty, a nothingness in which he could find happiness, appreciation, contentment, and satisfaction. From that point on, God can move and let him feel happiness and joy. Oneness with God can be created from that point. We have to realize that we as fallen people are standing in the center of two lines, between the world's side and God's side. We have to know when to narrow down, so we will know when the new era of happiness and joy will begin. You know the life of Noah. When he had a deadlock -- 120 years, receiving all kinds of persecution -- at that point he was narrowed down -- a new life of faith was started. You will have created a new realm of happiness and blessing when you are able to overcome the point of being narrowed down, when you prove you can open a new door to your relationship with God. This same principle applied elsewhere; e.g., Moses, John the Baptist. Let's look at John the Baptist's life. At that time, he was 30 years old, a young man eating nuts and honey in the wilderness -- just like a hippie -- and everybody laughing at him as unacceptable.

And he was in a position to complain about this situation if he had wanted to. We know he did not care about the problem of detour around material things, but he thought, "How can I open a new door?" That is the point where he is great.

Maybe some of you think, "Why believe in God? He will come down and make a connection with us." If God can do this, we would already have a relationship with Him -- that would be fine -- but as fallen men we have no proper relationship. Still God is subject; we are supposed to be His good objects, but we are not there. Subject and object should have some kind of a close relationship. We don't have it. Under these circumstances you cannot say, "Why believe in God?" We therefore have a standard we must endeavor to reach. For instance, in college some professor is knowledgeable in a certain subject area. Also, we first need an objective standard -- you first must register for the course. Otherwise, the professor and the student have no relationship. Naturally subject and object go together. They have similar angles, the same point, etc. Otherwise, the professor and the student have no relationship. Between the subject and you -- fallen man, the object -- if God decides something, because He is an absolute God, what He decides is eternal and unchanging. Can you meet His standard if you change your mind 100 times each day, from morning to evening? And another example: you come here, very inspired when you hear our lectures -- but when you go into the reality of the world, you will doubt. How long will this inspiration last? God is eternal. He never changes in the middle of the road. Even if you make a determination, how long will it last? A month, a few months, a year, several years, ten years? Your determination will be changing. Sometimes you say, "If it is a good thing, then I will go and do it. If not, then I will not do it." Truth is truth whether you live or die; it is eternal. Truth is beyond death, beyond changeability, it is eternal. In order to be a proper person you have to be beyond death. You must be carrying unchangeability. This means there will be a collision between changing and unchanging. Unchanging will overcome changing elements. Changing elements will vanish. Life and death will collide. When you overcome death you will have life! If you pass through this stage then you have a connection with God. Then when will the time of truth come to you and us? When? It is the time when there appears an unchanging and changing at the same time. A life and death situation will appear. This is the time of confrontation and challenge; that is when the truth comes.

Unfortunately, when we live in this world, we don't want change. Also, we don't want to die, or we don't want to be defeated in the reality of this world. The secret to overcome this situation, to reach the truth, is to overcome death and come to life; overcome changeability and go to unchangeability. Only in this way can you reach the truth. But this world does not want to change, does not want to die, simply because evil forces dominate this world.

Then, naturally, what are the Last Days? They are days of radical change taking place in this world of reality. In these days the world will be running to destruction -- no hope, only despair. Out of this chaos and trouble must come God's children, or some element unchanging and beyond death. This eternal element should exist amongst the chaos. Then, the next element is the collision which will take place, just as when the good, strong sword hits the fake, weak sword and breaks it. When we come to this situation, one of the sides must go, and the strong one will hit the weak. Changeability must go and the eternal element will remain. If such a person appears in this world, since God is unchanging and eternal, naturally He will come down to help the people on earth. Heavenly Father God will be very proud of Himself as the absolute subject. He will remain eternally as such when He sees the changing chaotic world begin to center itself on the source of life, the source of eternity.

So, because God's essence is this standard, to be His object we have to copy that standard, meet that standard of pride. So we have to ask ourselves if we qualify to meet that standard. In order to find if you are qualified, you must be put through suffering and hardship, in order to be tested. You may sometimes think a test of suffering is too hard for you, but when you look at it in a different way, this is the means through which God will give you the chance to prove your value. And when you pass the test with a 100%, that means the teacher has given you one chance to promote yourself and exhibit your value. Usually the teacher asks those questions which he thinks the students do not know. Why ask them what they already know? Usually test questions the professor gives are designed to bring the number one person to him. To do that he picks the toughest questions. When you have passed and are at the top, then you and the professor immediately have a certain relationship. Then you see the professor likes you because you have made it through the test, and a connection has been made. The professor will bequeath all his legacy of knowledge and work to you. When, after years, he finds only one person who can pass the test, then naturally he will be the heir of this professor -- because he is the only one who passed such a hard test. Is this not true?

God is doing the same thing with us. He would not want us to be businessmen or salesmen. He doesn't care for that. He wants to find His loving children -- to make you be His true sons and daughters. When He finds this subject-object relationship, that is the place where inviolability exists. Nobody can invade there. God feels so sorrowful that this point of love relationship was lost by the fall. So He is working through the Restoration Providence to find people on this earth who know this matter. Then He will receive more joy than He felt at the time of the fall of man.

So this God will lead you on earth who know Him to the ultimate highest point, where He can do something for you. He picked up Noah long ago, but in the middle of the road, he failed. Abraham, Moses and John the Baptist all failed. So He thinks those people on earth, including you, should be superior to those men in the past. God's desire is for you children to quickly pass the test -- to let you have suffering in a short period of time. It took Abraham many years just to establish faith. He must let you quickly pass the test of suffering and hardship to the same degree. He wants to have your time shortened. For the unchanging God to pick up the unchanging children, He must come down and test His tactics in a changing situation. God sometimes appears as a changing God. This is changing from your point of view only. Sometimes you go suddenly to the left side, then to the right side, then to the rear and the front. It looks like He is a changing God, but He has a purpose behind this. In order to bring unchanging children He has to test you in a changing situation, and if you pass, then later, you will be safe and unchanging. So when the eternally living God comes to you, He will look like He is leading you to death. It is a test. So the God of life seems like a God of death, in order to restore His children. In the medieval age of Christian history, we see this method: the God of life appears to inspire only death and martyrdom. Through this paradoxical test He has been restoring people. So we can easily imagine that all the 2,000 years of Christianity will be failing away -- all mankind will be falling away. Then only one man, only one direction, only one faith will come out to restore all things. We can easily imagine that centering on one person. There cannot be many people at one time sent to restore one world. The number of children has to gradually multiply to save the whole world. When Satan looks at the one person on the earth who is centered on God, he is afraid of him. There is no way for Satan to accuse this kind of person. When you look at the situation, all Christianity is falling away -- the world is sinking down. Even the United States, this gigantic whale of a nation, is almost ready to perish. What kind of an object is God looking for in this age? He cannot accept the people who accept the world as it is. His objects are the people who never change in this changing world. He is looking for the person and his followers who believe, "Even if the world perishes, we shall not." That is the kind of person God is looking for. This should not be just a matter of belief, but in the reality of this world should be possible to prove. He is looking for that kind of person. From then on, they shall create a new world. This is what God expects from the sons and daughters on earth right now. If those people say, "Even without God's help we are about to complete this mission," then what will happen? If these people appear, then naturally God must pick these people up to His side. Let us look at two kinds of people: those who do things without God and those who always need God to say, "Do this, do that, etc." Would one of the two get more credit from God? They will automatically come out and inform existing churches of this world about reality. Also, if there is a thought, a philosophy, through which we can embrace all things, naturally this thought will f ill the earth. Then the time will come.

Who will receive more blessings, a communist or a Christian? God cannot bless communism, can He? It denies God. Communism disregards, denies, the center of the universe. Then we have a better ideology than any other. Why Christianity, if another one is coming up stronger? Naturally God will bless the best one. Very soon, though, the time will come when this kind of ideology centering on God will come up and suddenly embrace the whole universe, swallowing up all systems of thought. Now, the life of faith looks unconfinable but it is eternal and unchanging. While the reality of this world is vivid and can be seen, but cannot be trusted, it is not eternal and unchanging. The life of faith in God is never changing. So, this means the life of faith and the reality of the world are opposite. For one thing, in the life of faith you have to be recognized first by God. Secondly, you are not supposed to be inferior to past saints and sages. Thirdly, even though past saints and sages in the dispensation course failed, this time we must succeed. Lastly, in the past, God was giving us help -- now we have to do things by ourselves. No need to get help from heaven. Genuine good sons and daughters recover everything, believing in God, without His help. Then what happens? You will liberate our God by yourselves. Restoration will be completed when these sons and daughters restore this condition and liberate our God. Then He will feel that genuine love is possible, like that which was there before the fall of man. He will be happy to restore His genuine sons and daughters. God will automatically welcome you to come to His bosom. When you have trouble, don't ask Him to help you. Instead you should say, "Father, help the whole world." That kind of standard of faith and prayer will be wonderful. Now this kind of attitude of faith is similar to when you have many brothers in front of their parents, and one brother says, "Instead of helping me, why not help my brothers and sisters? " That kind of attitude will be so precious to the parents. It is quite proper in the ordinary family that such a son in the family will get up early and talk to his parents while the others are in bed. That's the way God's children make a good relationship. They will take him into their confidence.

The same thing applies to God and His children. Naturally this son will be the center, the heir, the object to his parents. They can speak of secret and even confidential things to him. This is the standard we are striving for.

Sometimes, in the movies, we see someone being tortured for some reason by gangsters or political agents. So, when you do face suffering you have to overcome it. You have to see the overall problem of how to solve it and how to attack it to lead to a better solution. When you walk along the street, why don't you take this kind of God-position, thinking, "This is right. This is wrong." When you look along the street you have to look at the evil things you have to change, and then good things shall multiply for mankind and for the nation. When you see this way, from God's point of view, you will be progressing. When you look at the weakness of the democratic and communist states, when you look at the changing elements from God's point of view, why don't you think, "I am going to reform this and that." If nobody else does it, you think in your own mind, "I will do it." When you maintain this kind of mind, automatically, angels and saints will come down and help you even if you do not ask for help from God. With this condition of mind, wherever you go, you do not have to worry. You are perfectly all right in even the most dangerous of situations. With this confidence you can overcome any difficult situation. Then God will inform you in many ways what shall take place, either through dreams, inspiration -- and sometimes through vision. This will be very much fitting to the situation. With this kind of phenomena and stimulus we will really have comfort in this world of

change. So He asks you to search the extreme poles -- right and left, the end of the situation. You have to study and explore. Just like the North Pole and the South Pole -- go there and then you have to come back. When you go to the end of something, a new thing begins. The end means many things are beginning. That is why I am "Alpha and Omega." That means beginning and end. If you go this life of faith you will receive automatic spiritual cooperation. Even from that point, you will be living a joyous and happy life in which you will be restored. Even if this kind of person falls into a dungeon or a prison, then God will work to take him out quickly. Sometimes in your life you have to look for the extreme end. That means sometimes if you will look very intensely, even in a short period of time you will learn the spiritual value of things. Voices talk loud -- even if you stop calling "Heavenly Father," your voice is inside. Then later you can hear the voice of your mind. This is interesting and necessary training. Then when you look at something from your side, when you see something, then gradually don't see it, you can still see it. This is searching for the extreme end of the pole and then coming back.

It is very hard to go from one extreme to another. The problem is how are you going to train yourself? That means even if you are out of the world, you must live in it. You know the term "'restoration -- -it means, unless you go to the extreme, you cannot restore anything. Therefore, restoration means you have to go to the extreme. Same thing with the family -- you have to go to the extreme end -- also tribal, national and world, same thing. You have to go back to the extreme, from which you have to begin.

We are all at the end of the world now. Because we are at the end of the pole we should be different from the world. In a short period of time we will extend, and all will be ended. We are at the end of this world of reality, so we are the most suffering people. Should this be? We have no borderline but very soon our demarcation line will be expanding. We should be different from the old world. When the world is declining we know it should be that way. So in the process of restoration we have to go back to the extreme.

So, if the European family is told by Master, "You must stay here,"' then you stay. That is the end of the road. When he instructed the European family to come, they had to come. The same thing God said to Moses -- the Israelites must get out of Egypt or they will perish. We cannot set up the New Israel without going to the extreme pole of it. We have to get the victory from the end of the extreme. Then all things in this world will be ended when we reach the individual, family, national, world levels. Then we will get victory. You say, "Good-by to the whole world -- I am going." You people stand in the middle of the world, so you have to get to the end, to start the New Israel. As of now, in the dispensation, Master started from the individual, family, clan -- now it is the national level. That is why Master is here in the U. S. So far he has traveled far in the spiritual sense. You people have gotten so much by doing nothing. It's like a miracle for you that you are here. If you want to leave, then pack up and you may go home. This is the Last Exodus, the end of the road.

In the past life in faith, a person came to believe in something. Now, this time, your life in faith has a factual reality-not necessarily imagination. At this stage, far beyond the world and far beyond the past faith, anything is possible. In the past, those men of faith worked hard, but all the accumulated good did not belong to them; they gave everything to us. When we believe and work in factual reality it becomes ours -- while in the past, they transferred everything to the future generations. Now your assets, your spiritual property become yours. This is why He said "factual reality" in this life of faith. Therefore, a life of faith can become a life of reality. Astonishing age! Very soon, the age of the four-dimensional world is coming as a controversial matter. Much spiritual phenomena shall take place on earth. When we have set up certain foundations centering on America, the time will come when the entire spiritual world will concentrate on our work, and the whole world will be influenced by spiritual phenomena.

In a sense, our enemy, communism is helping us -- because of their aggressiveness and domineering power. Our work centering on the Heavenly Father is the only work that can prevent the flood of communism. The more powerful the communist activities become, centering on America, the closer the time comes -- and our physical and spiritual foundation should be ready very soon.

So, this is the topic which was described this morning, the life of faith and life of reality of this world. But we are driving, not necessarily believing something, to achieve life after death in this world. But we believe we are accomplishing this along with the reality of this world. Up to now Satan and his following have been the domineering forces on earth. Now we Principle Family members will be the sovereignty of good on earth. As soon as we pass through the national restoration level, from then on, all happiness and joy will be set up. New generations, a new age, a new culture, a new civilization will be created by our hands, and very soon we will have the kingdom of God on earth. In the past, ideological systems ended up with only ideals. But now our belief system will end in actual reality. We have to have pride in that, because we have something tangible-a factual reality far above the past conceptual ideas of thinking and the previous life of faith.

Our Shame (Instead Of Honor)

We know that the world in which we are now living is not an ideal world. This is not the world of good result, but evil result. Therefore, we are not going to begin something from there -- but we are going to go back to somewhere. If we have a good result, we can say the causes have been good; if we find the causes have been good, we can safely say the beginning has been good. On our way to another place is the process or providence good? We must know that because that will define what the start was. Are we living in a happy or in an unhappy world? That will define whether or not our result will be good or bad. Are we honored in going this way or are we put to shame? Are we in shame on our way? If we find that there are many dishonest things on our way then we must define that in the beginning many things were wrong. Then what was shame and why are we ashamed? There are many kinds of sins. And with shame, too, there are many kinds. We are ashamed of something living in the sinful world. Then what kind of shame do we deserve?

In the present day you find so many criminals, and among them it is thought that the murderers are the most shameful ones, and the betrayers come next. Then what will come after that? Even worldly people think that adulterous sins centered on human love are shameful things. Rape, or physical love by violence, is sometimes thought to be worst of all. As in everything else, there is order in human love. So if adultery is committed among brothers and sisters, or among near relatives, or even among parents, that is the most shameful thing. That kind of love is thought to be worse than any other type of love. Even in the Satanic world people think this. Therefore, the question is, "What makes one the most unhappy or miserable?"

Our shamefulness comes from having committed sin. From what we were taught in the Divine Principle we know the nature of our human ancestors shame and sin. It was centered on the Archangel and Eve. Both of them, in a sense, killed man. And then Eve dragged Adam to the place of death. They committed sin through an illegal love relationship. And what was the love relationship between those two like? Everything should start from God. Then it goes to Adam, through Eve, and then to the Archangel. But things went in a reverse way: first the Archangel, then Eve, and then Adam.

From the standpoint of the Archangel, both Adam and Eve were in the position of his Master. That means that the Archangel raped Eve, the Master's wife. After that shame Eve wanted to justify her sin, and she tempted Adam by having Adam commit the same sin. All of them defied God. If you were in the place of God, what would you do? Can you forgive them at all? If that is possible we can say that God just does things at random -- there is no law there. We say God is absolute, but this is not in the sense that He can forgive them in a way which is evil. He is an absolute being only in the ways which are good. We must be at the absolute standard of good, by which we can compare anything and measure anything.

God's original intention in creating Adam and Eve, the Archangel, and the whole creation has been nullified. What must we do about that? But God cannot cut them off and tread down upon them. God was the Master and Creator of all those people and things; thus, the sin was committed within His family. So it was natural for God to grieve over what took place. He was in shame, too. In your own family, if you commit sins, or if your mother commits a sin, would your father be honored or put to shame? If you were in the place of the father, would you be more ashamed of the son's sexual crime or of murdering and things like that? Which would be better, if either could be better? If, in the sin of adultery, you are in the position of a man whose wife has been raped by someone, would you not be more angered by that thing than by a murder? Would that mean that adultery is more sinful? Yes, that is true. Then how grieved would God have been having that kind of daughter and that kind of a servant. If you were in the place-of God, what would you think? He was remorseful, grieved and angered. In light of all those things we can say that God is a grieving God, and an ashamed God. He is a God who has tasted the bitterness of sin. If your son or daughter is sinful, you feel that you are the sinner.

As I understand it, in the USA, people do not take adultery to be a serious sin. But in the Oriental countries, people still think adultery is the worst sin. In the words of the Bible it is the worst sin. Then who made God a grieving God? It was the Archangel, then Eve, and then Adam. If, when they realized that they had committed a sin, Adam and Eve had been so humble as to kneel down before God and plead forgiveness, then would their sin have been forgiven? What was their attitude? What sins can be forgiven and forgotten? The sin of an illegal love relationship cannot be forgiven. That is the bitterest thing. Even in the world, when someone kills your son and you forgive him, you become a generous and holy person. But when your wife is raped and you consider forgiving that man, that is ridiculed. Don't you think so? It would be far better for that man to die than to see that happen.

The relationship between Satan and God was something like that. If Satan, in hatred of Eve, had killed her -- in that case -- God could have created another Eve. But the sin was committed in a love relationship. In love, the first love is the best one and the good one, so it was unforgivable. Because of their sin in the illegal love relationship, their descendants have been under stained lineage. That is how the sinful history of mankind began.

If someone were to ask God, "How grieved and ashamed were you at the time of their fall?" He would have no words to answer. If you were in that position you would find no words to answer, and you could only shed tears in reply to the question. There can be no description in words. Man, in the beginning, left God in that grievous situation.

If you really know and realize that God is your Father, you would try to think of any way possible to console His heart, to do anything for Him. Wouldn't you? [YES!] Then in what way can you console His heart? Just by begging forgiveness, shedding tears and grieved sighs with Him in the same manner, or what? There is no forgiveness possible there. All the more, Adam and Eve committed sin from the position of the true children of God. They were direct children of God, and they were created sinless and pure. But are we pure and free from original sin?

Human sin doubled and became many falls. So we are in the position of begging forgiveness before God because we are more sinful than Adam and Eve. In the USA, as I see it, having a strong sense of freedom, the way you interpret the meaning of freedom, you say to yourselves, "I can do anything according to my own will, and what is wrong if I commit adultery or any sin?" That is the way in the democratic world. But have you ever stopped to think that you are not in the position of such a man? Have you ever thought of that? Have you been conscious of being sinners? If you are the descendants of the sons of traitors can you hold your face up like this? If you are the sons of murderers, can you lift your face high like this? If you realize that you are the sons of a man and woman who committed adultery would you be honored? If you truly realize your position can you cry out to the world, "Give me freedom! Return to me anything I please!" Can you really enjoy freedom and peace?

The answer is only too clear. You can never be like that. Before crying out for freedom you must go the reverse way. You cannot do anything freely. You must reverse what you have committed. Would that be true even in a worldly sense? All the more, Adam and Eve were traitors; historical murderers because they left their descendants lifeless. They were the first to commit adultery.

So we can say that our human ancestor was Satan, the devil. In a way we are co-workers in committing the sin. All the descendants came from stained lineage. You are the descendants of stained ancestors. Are you closer to yourself or closer to God? Are you closer to your own family or to God? [God.] Is that true? You try to be closer to God, but in fact you are not closer to God. In thought, in words maybe, you say you are closer to God, but it isn't this way. Have you ever felt you were so close to God as to be one with Him? You haven't been feeling the sense of love toward God like you would when you miss your family, your people in a foreign family. You have been thinking less of God than your own people. You have been farther from God than from your own people. When we say we are far from God, in other words, we can say we are near or close to Satan. That is natural, because we are born out of Satan's lineage. After the human fall it was a natural tendency for human beings to tend to be unlawful and to tend to fall into illegality. You cry out and say "Give me freedom!" -- but after you are given freedom, what are you going to do? The people of the world don't think of love. Many keep things in order after they are given freedom and love, but they are thinking of doing things after their own will. Wouldn't that be true? Even on university campuses we see people crying out for freedom. After they get their liberty, the virtuous think that what they are going to do is engage in love -- but they are violating the laws -- they like to do things of their own accord to suit their instincts. Is that really freedom to do as they please? In minding the order existing in human society, if that is defined as freedom, with that freedom we cannot build a wholesome society, but society will be broken down into pieces. Is that true?

Then what is the freedom we are looking for? The freedom that the people in our day are looking for is the freedom which can destroy and ruin them. We are already shameful people -- but after gaining that freedom, they are going to misuse it, putting us into an even more shameful position. God is afraid of giving the people freedom, and Satan is anxious to give the people freedom, anything which will increase their sinfulness. If I could invent a different kind of expression I would say the freedom we are crying for is maya, the drug for Satan. What is that freedom? Satanic. Opium. Would you say the same thing? Then would God like us to destroy that freedom or would He like to give that freedom to the people? If you were in the position of God would you let them go on the way they are now, or would you drag them back somehow? Would you like to be pulled back somewhere, or would you like to have Him lead you as it is?

The more you are loved by God, the more you will be dragged to Him. In that case, God would pull you so hard, almost apart at the joints, He wouldn't let you go, He would want to pull you even harder. in the Bible we read that if your right eye would sin, pluck it out; and if your hand would commit sin, you had better cut it off. With that said, how serious was Jesus or God? Wouldn't you rather be forgiven and not have to pluck out your eye? When you are pulled by God, are you in such a position as to try to get away from it all, or will you be obedient and let Him pull you? These things being spiritual, it is hard to define. But are you not in states of being pulled and going to God reluctantly? Would you try to get away from Him with all your mind, or would you go reluctantly, or would you go with all willingness?

Are you any different from what you were before you joined our movement? Before joining our movement you were paralyzed, without even feeling the state you were in. You didn't know even to cry, being dragged away, and you didn't realize that God was chasing you, and that you wanted to be dragged. You did not realize all these things. Were you living right, in the spiritual sense? Were you better? We were like that, but after joining the movement we have changed, and now we are anxious to go toward the goal God has set for us. Have you changed this much or that much? This is a greater revolution than any other revolution in human history. And you haven't been realizing that fact, even after you have joined our movement. You still don't realize this. Right at this moment, you must realize this clearly. We must restore the indemnity, our rights, and every virtue. I 'I someone would say to you, "Come to me; I will make a [senator] out of you. I will give you worldly things," would you rather go to him if he is going to make you a senator? After hearing me you say, "No," but do you really mean it? You must have the pride of the sons and daughters of God. You would like to take this, then, rather than worldly fame, like being a senator or having the praise of a king? No heroes in the past, no saints or holy men in the past, like Jesus, or Confucius, have excelled us.

We are going to be greater than they were, and we are going to be the victors of human history. We must right the wrongs that have been committed by our ancestors. We must put in order everything lost. We are going to be history-makers in that sense. But is there any way at all in which we can undo sin? If there is any such way, we are most happy people. If there is not, then we are most unhappy people. Now we know that our human ancestors were born in sin in the beginning, and all of our ancestors have been created more sinful, until we are the fruit of their sins. If there were any way to go back to the original position, would you do that? Right now we are not in the position to be proud of ourselves. Since we have been living in such sinfulness, we are in the position of having to beg for forgiveness before God. We must be willing to do anything for God, and for ourselves, so that we may be forgiven of sin. Would you not want that position? [YES!] Then what must you do? Are you ready to go through any difficulty? If you may have to be killed by God and resurrected again and go through more difficulty, and then be killed by God and resurrected again and go through more difficulty, would you be grateful and ready to pay your debt of sin in that way? Even though you may have to go through those things three times, ten times, a thousand times -- you must be ready to go through that.

If you are going to do that most reluctantly, God would see you have more debts to pay back, and you are going to be put into more and more difficulties. But if you are willing to go through more difficulties than God has for you, there will be a time when God will say: "Stop that. Now you know how sinful you are and I will forgive you." God will tell you, "Stop going through that misery, since I am going to forgive your ancestors, Adam and Eve. And it is the end to your sin and your sin will be forgiven." You will go beyond that boundary. When you want to go beyond that boundary and belong to the new world, would you look back and desire something in the old world? Then what would you do if you do things with the readiness of killing yourself, paying your whole like as sacrifice, and then you are resurrected? Would you be reluctant to pay with your whole like again? Then you have know what you are going to do.

Since our first human ancestors, Adam and Eve, caused God grief, shame, and bitterness, then, in the course of resurrection, we must be able to do anything in order to console God's heart. God's tears of grief have flowed down our ancestors' cheeks, reaching us. So tears have flowed down all through human history. Can you imagine how God would weep over Adam and Eve? How many tears would God have shed? Would He have shed tears just once, or would He have been in continual grief and sadness? The more He thought about His children being in sin, the more He would shed tears. When God looks at people committing sins over and over again, it is something like piercing Him with spears over and over again. We can see that human history is a sinful and grievous history. In going back, you would be most grieved. You must think, "I am the very person who caused God that grief."' And what would you do? If you truly realize that, you must be ready to go through any difficulty -- if you console God in that way. At the time of the fall, in the beginning, God had to shed bitter tears; but in the course of restoration we must be able to make God have happy, joyous tears. You must be able to think of yourself being ready to do anything in order to relieve God's heart and make it happy.

If, out of His will, you are beaten by others, would you get sympathy from your Father? If you are beaten and called names, then God would like to cling to you, and console you, wouldn't He? God's first desire is for you to dissolve His grief. "Please relieve my agony," is God's cry to you. God cannot do it by Himself. God was not the cause of human sin, so it must be done by man, who committed the sin. Can God undo the sin Himself? No. We must do that. The only way possible is to want to die for the cause of God. To want to die for the people of the world whom God wants to have back. That is why you are told in the Bible to sacrifice yourself for this greater cause, and in one place you are told to be ready to lose your life: "Those who want to lose it, gain it."

Up to the present, people have not known this fact, this history of man. Since we realize that, we must at least do something. The most important thing for us to do is to know God's heart. This is what makes our movement different from other religious movements. Then what must have been the agony of Adam, of Noah, of Abraham, Moses, and Jesus? Our Master is still going through the agony and difficulties. How can He be separated from those agonies and sins which are the agonies of God? The grief of the Unification Church members is not their own grief, but the grief of Adam, Noah -- and God's grief. God's grief is all these griefs totalized.

God's grief is not only on an individual level. You must be ready to relieve all griefs or resentments. If you can relieve God's grief, then you must be able to do that. Those people have failed, so you must pay back the totalized grief in order to pay back God's grief. Then you are the historical victors. You must be able to know the cause which made Adam's sin and made Noah and others failures. You must be able to undo the [past] , or to complete anything left undone. Even though you may have to pay double, triple or more indemnity, you must be able to do so. If you know these things, and if you really know the heart of God, can you ask Him to relieve you from your grief, begging Him to help you? Are you ready to do that? You cannot pray that kind of prayer before God.

We cannot expect God to help us; but we must be willing to help God relieve His grief. Unlike other Christians of the world, we must restore God's heart through prayer. Throughout the world, He is the most grieved one. He is praying for us. He is praying for sons and daughters to relieve His agony. Can you ever pray to such a God to give you a blessing, to give you help? Would you rather have a blessing from Him or would you rather have difficulty? Being away, you can go along the way of restoration, pace by pace, relieving so much of God's grief. As you go through difficult paths, you must always pray to God, "'As I test this important difficulty, I know this much more of your heart; and as I go through so much difficulty I know what difficulty you have gone through," and that way you can have courage and zeal. You must really realize that.

Since we know all these facts, you must be doing these things for the sake of God. If you read, you must realize that you are reading in order to relieve God's grief. When you sing, when you recite poetry, when you write literature, when you do anything, you must realize that you are doing that in order to make God happy. We are different from Adam and Eve. We are different from other people. We are even different from the great men of the past. You must become such a person that God will tell you, "Because of you I am relieved from my grief; because of you I restored a family, nation and the whole world; because of you I found my Joy, my son, my smile, my everything." You must be such a person to Him. God would want to talk, to confide things to you, and to you, God would want to inherit everything. Again, I must say that, if you can relieve God's agony, if you can make God a happy God, there is no more to be expected from you, and you can enjoy everything of virtue. Then you will have restored yourself, your family, your nation, and the whole world back to God. By our doing this, we can liberate God from grief. We are the liberators of God, and we must be able to have Him enjoy the whole restored world. You can do this yourself. By doing this we can remove sin.

If you were God, would you not, after having found such an individual, be anxious to have a family, clan and nation restored under him? Would you not be anxious to restore the whole world? After restoring the whole world, God will be relieved, and the central figure, the Messiah, will be relieved. God will want you to promise to enjoy life with the rest of mankind. You have the central figure, who has liberated God and the whole world; then God and the whole world will want to honor this person. If he, against God's will, failed to carry out his mission because of the luck of the conquest of the people, God will be more grieved. He is anxious to have this person succeed at all costs. If God had that kind of person among human saints, He would cooperate with him, and He would have all the people help him; and out of the whole population of the world, the minute you knew him, you would really help him. Wouldn't you?

If the people of the world recognize this person, they cannot fail Him again. The central figure is the Lord of the Second Advent. Through this personage both God and the people of the world are relieved from shame and grief. This person needs the cooperation of the people of the whole world and the cooperation of God. The Unification Church is the guide to such a goal.

What we have here is of such value that you wouldn't sell it for diamonds. Even if the whole earth was that diamond. In the position to have the thing of ultimate value, we must realize how great our honor is. Would you be sons of shame or sons of honor? Now you know clearly the way in which you can yourself relieve God and the people of shame. When you have gone to the spirit world, you cannot tell me that I haven't taught everything to you; and it is your responsibility to carry out what you have been told. But if I am willing to help you, from my part, what would you do? You will welcome help from God, of course, but you must think in your heart that you are going to inherit that blessing to your descendants, and to all the people of the world.

That is what creates many difficulties. I must help you to do this. Wouldn't you be equally busy in doing this? In that case, God is going to be a boss, while helping you. All will be realized, all will be done.

Those three must go at the same pace, at the same speed. Must we go competitively? Try to go ahead of us. Would you cry to compete with others in good competition? Then God will be glad to help you out, and He will know that our shame is His, and everybody else will be relieved by studying the Divine Principle. You must not be studying with your brain, your reason, alone, but you must learn God's heart from that. You must feel those things which you are studying. You must go through all those things, by putting yourself in the position of these central figures of God's choice; and feel the same grief God would have felt in their failures after the fall. To carry out their missions, Adam, Noah, Abraham, and Jesus were in Cain's position. Even God is in that position, and all of those people must be restored by our carrying out this mission. You must be greater than Adam and any passed-away saints. You must relieve those people. You must be the first to set up a real tradition of God's ideal and we must be able to [keep] that tradition. We must be able to set up the tradition and the height of the mission ' more than the Jewish people did, and more than the Christian people have. We must relieve them. Then we can relieve God -- and the shame of all mankind.

Today, I have not enough time to talk to you. After this, we must have a meeting. So, I hope you will understand. For the Mobile Team Commanders and the State Representatives, your training course is finished. Right after this, we are going to have a meeting in the Main Hall. For the long-term trainees, I am going to tell you about our plan for the training course. We did not make out schedules because from time to time there may be shifts and you are directly under my guidance, what to do and when to do it. We originally planned a 100-day training session for you, and I am going to explain about that. For every one of the Divine Principle members, it is very urgent to become a good lecturer on the Divine Principle.

You must, first of all, know the skeleton, an outline of the truth. And you must know the Divine Principle in such depth that you can freely apply this to your everyday life in the front-line. So, during this training session, I want you to hear at least six or seven cycles of the Divine Principle. Up to the fifth time, the lecture you will be hearing will be just the outline, maybe -- but the last two lectures will be very much in depth.

Well, if you struggle hard it can last only 48 days. You will be having two to three examinations during that period. Our Victory Over Communism ideology and Unification Thought, as philosophies, are based on the Divine Principle; so, without your knowing the Principle in depth, you cannot really understand those other two thoughts. After having studied and learned the Divine Principle in depth, then I am going to have my lecturer give you the lectures on both the Victory Over Communism ideology and Unification Thought. If each of those takes one month each, we will need another two months. So, that is why I originally planned to have a 100-day training session for you. I was planning to bring Dr. Lee from Korea for those two other lectures. He is going through the procedure formalities to come over to this country, but your consulate in Korea wouldn't let him come for some reason or another. He may be able to come later, but originally we planned to have him here by May 1, 1973. But now the situation demands that we plan in another way. In case he cannot come at all, F. L. F. will take charge of those two lectures; so in the meantime, he is struggling to get the visa anyhow -- but just in case, you must be planning or preparing for those lectures. F. L. F. members have already gathered the materials from Korea and from Japan, so I don't think you will have any difficulty in giving the lectures on those things.

As you may know, I brought two American members to Korea last year, and there is an English boy staying with them, and they have been studying a lot on those two ideologies, Victory Over Communism and Unification Thought. So, Master is even thinking of bringing one or two of them as lecturers for you. We have gone through many training sessions and we have tested a lot and our conclusion is that if and when you are armed with those three ideologies, you can tell any man in the whole world your theory. Last year, on our way to this country, I ordered the Japanese members to try to have open, public discussions with the Communist leaders and they are now in the process of doing this. In the Communist world, both Soviet Russia and Red China are focusing their attention on Japan. Japan is becoming more or less pro-Communist and is the base for revolution by violence. As far as the cultural background is concerned, Japan is more or less a Buddhist country, but the country is not quite directed by the Buddhist ideology, and there are various ideologies or religions mixed and mingled, and they are all weak in a way. So, the Communist people are aiming at the corruption of that country, or the absorption of that country under their ideology. And they know that it will not affect any other parts of the world by doing that. Japanese people are great readers in that they read books from our side from his own people. They have been reading books on Marxism a great deal and most of the young people are inclined to become Communists; but they are weaker because when we propose public discussion with the Communist youth leaders, they shrink back and won't come out.

Through mass communication and any other means, we have been struggling hard to get them on the stage, either on the roadside or on the television, to have a public discussion with us, and they won't. Our members are still struggling for that, but they won't appear. They are still doing this. We have publicized that we are going to have a public discussion with these young Communists, so people will know that and they expect that that thing will happen; but since the Communist young people are shrinking back, they, the people, know that the Communist youth are already defeated, because they have no confidence.

In the future, we may have to be propagating that the Communist leaders have no confidence to fight against us in the Principle -- that is why they don't appear on the stage to have the public discussion with us. Then, people will know the fact and the Communist people may, very possibly, come out, out of anger and indignation. Well, this we will do on university campuses.

Up to the present moment, the Communist people have been so confident as to be able to say that they have no enemies, because no one else has the confidence to come out against them. But ' with this happening in Japan, all the people will know that we are in more or less the position of the opposition party to them as the ruling party. Since this is happening, some very strong young Communists -- the youth association under Communism -- object against their leaders, for their not being able to send out the men for discussion. But, from some sources, we have learned that the men from the headquarters would answer those young people that they [Principle members] have such a strong ideology, and unless you [Communist youth] grow more you can never defeat them, so you had better stay still. The Communist leaders in Japan planned to invite experts in Communist theory from twelve nations, and their purpose was to have them research our ideology and have them strongly armed with Communist ideology so that they could fight against our theory and they have been naming the Victory Over Communism group, and their plan was to have the meeting, but they failed to do that.

In Korea, the philosophers and professors all know that without our ideology we cannot win over Communism. In Free China, the same thing is happening. But you Western members are not quite aware of that fact, and you don't realize the value of these two ideologies. If you have the book with you, you must be studying hard, and the book is worth keeping in each and every library. There has not been any such book in any of your libraries. That is the only book we have in our possession.

If you talk with a Communist leader even one-half hour, he will be defeated, since this is such a strong armament -- and won't you be studying hard on that? Unification Thought is the Divine Principle systematized in such a way as to be able to defeat materialism and atheism. The Unification Ideology is going to be the new view of life for all the people of the whole world. After a while we are going to publish these books and send them out to every university in the United States -- and before that, you must be well armed with the teaching. The day before yesterday, I visited West Point; and the reason for my visiting there was, in the near future, since that school is of the highest level in that line, I am going to have our lecturers go there and influence those people with our ideology. Our ideology being the explosive one, they can be subjugated by ours.

If we are going to be successful in this, we will have won such a great victory in the eastern part; and on the West Coast, my target is Stanford University. Those two, being the leading universities, leading schools -- and in different, very important fields -- with these two exploding with our ideology, the rest of the schools will be easy.

In order for you to be future leaders under our ideology and in order for you to become national leaders elsewhere, you must be well armed with these three ideologies. While you have the training session here, we are going to develop the "West Point Project." And I am going to have you witness to the people on the street of the great city of New York, and I am going to put you under my direct guidance.

From tonight, I have a plan. I am going to take Joe Tully, the New York City Center Director, and Mr. Kamiyama from Japan, and have a meeting with them -- and then have them send out the vans of the Mobile Teams to the central part of the city, and as they get off the van, they will be standing about there, giving lectures and witnessing to a few people. But, as the listeners would be interested in hearing more, they would take them back to the Center in the van, right away. Well, our young people can even shout to the young passers-by, saying: "Our country is on the verge of life or death; how can you idle away time, and what is your aim in life? If you are interested in hearing a wonderful theory, come ride in the car." So, we will take the young people from the street, in dozens or more, to the Center..."If you are a real patriot, if you are a real lover of this nation, why don't you come and join us," and they will be stimulated and influenced by you. (Well, we have bought two vans for the Dutch family -- bring those two right away.)

[Mr. Salonen: We brought them up Wednesday night.]

Well, those two others which we ordered for the Dutch Family, those are for the Japanese Family.

[Mr. Salonen:] We brought three.

We can even mobilize the big bus, and if we have 70 or more people, all those vans and the bus will be used. And we are going to use our vans to take them back to their own homes, after the lecture. Then we can be on good terms with those people, and our young people can have a good conversation, even in the bus while we are sending them back to their homes. And we have to, by the fall of this year, raise some 500 members for the New York Center. If that will come to realization, I am going to have another public speech in the fall. Unless we have a certain number within our church I cannot do that.

We have no time to lose. By the end of next year, we have got to have some 8,000 members, moving from corner to corner in this country of the United States. A little later I am going to go to Washington, D. C. Headquarters and do the same, and when I visit the West Coast in April, I will do the same. And whenever you, the drivers of the van, would have to stop and park the van, why don't you park it right in the center of the street, where many passers-by will look at it, and right there you can even block their way and cry out to them, "This is no time for you to do anything else but this -- our country is being corrupted by this and that problem"...and with tearful eyes you can talk to them. Why don't you tell them, "Listen, just once, to this wonderful theory, and we are making this world an ideal one under this ideology," something like that, and you can absorb so many young people. The Mobile Teams must also be doing the same, and you cannot say that it is difficult to gain members. If you keep saying it is impossible, I will be with you on the Mobile Team and I will prove it to you.

We are the elite soldiers on the warfront for the Great Cause of God -- and there is no such thing as "impossible" in us, in our dictionary, so we are going to plan this -- and once I have planned it, I will have it tested. Throw away your old conception: "'All the past missionaries have done this much at best, and how can we do more?" But we have not time to lose; in the providence of God, we have to do things in a set time. I am going to direct the New York Center activities, and what they are doing there will be the model or example for other Centers. Last night, when I visited New York Center, I gave them some very urgent directions. From now on, I am going to make out of you good lecturers, and there will be tape-recorded cassettes sent to you, and various lengths of lectures will be provided. For instance, if you are going to give the Principle of Creation, First Lecture, the shortest one will be a 40-minute lecture, and then one hour and a half to two hours and a half, to six hours, to nine hours. And, for The Fall, you can have four kinds, maybe 40 minutes, one hour and a half, two hours and a half, four hours. With the varying length of the lecture, all those will be tape-recorded and sent to you in cassettes.

As you may know, there are many rooms in the New York Center, so I am going to have them buy many tape-recorders and put one in each room; and each visitor will come -- if you can bring the people -- and you can ask him, "How long can you stay here?" He may answer -30-40 minutes," and you can have him go into one of the rooms and give him the cassette with the 40 minute lecture; with those who can stay longer -- maybe two hours, two hours and a half -- you can give them that length of tape recorded lecture. And, in that way, the more people who will listen on a cassette, will be forced to come. You may not want them to come; but they will, I am sure, come back to listen to more. And you can give them one-and-a-half -hour tapes, two-and-a-half hour tapes, etc.

In the future, every one of you will take with you a tape-recorder and cassette tape -- and then for those who listen to the 40-minute cassette, you will have a text, on which is written the same thing as the tape-recorder, and you will study it over and over again and have to remember it by heart. Then, when you give the direct lecture to them, you will find that the same thing was from you or you can even tape record it again with your own voice. And then, if you receive questions and can answer back, they will feel that even though they have to learn from the tape-recorder, they feel as though they are learning directly from you, since you can answer their questions. And they will know that you are not only carrying that tape-recorded thing as a lecture, but, they will know that you are the very lecturer who tape-recorded that -- and they will look up to you. You can do every imaginable thing. Suppose you are walking down the street, passing by the stores; and looking into a store, you find people who are idling like this, without doing anything, and you go in, talk to them and say, "You look so bored, why don't you listen to this? I will leave it with you for a while, and when you come back to take the cassette tape back in the evening, you will find that he has already listened to it, and his response must be good, and he will be interested in listening to more, and you can give him another cassette. If he doesn't happen to have a tape-recorder you can leave your tape-recorder with him.

Neil must be prepared for that, because later we will do that. So, you need to get cassette tape recorders, lecture and measure the time. Those who have tape recorders will you hold up your hand? Each one of you should buy one.

Up to the present, you have been complaining about your not having enough members, but your tape recorder can play the role of one or more members. You can leave the cassettes with other people, you can lend the tape recorder to them, and you can earn so many members from that. And by visiting those people you can get donations from them, and there are many such possibilities in doing that. And when one person has heard the Divine Principle in that way, you can give him duplicates, more cassette tapes, and have him distribute them to his friends. You consult with President Kim and make out an official letter to be sent to every nation where we have missionaries. And tell them to start right away with this project. After awhile, we will get information from each national leader; then we can study more on that, and we can utilize the best method possible.

By using this method, you can reach out to every person -- every professor, theologian or scholar. They will find that this is a wonderful theory to teach their people and they can be proud of knowing this. They will even be interested in gathering their neighbors and giving the lecture themselves. Can you imagine this happening? [YES!] So, we can start doing this right away. In the official letter, you can say it is an order from Master. If we have 100 duplications of the cassette tape, it means 100 people will be hearing it while you contacted just one. Well, in the future, it is possible to have 100 people listening to the lecture at the same time, or at different times, and we need 100 rooms where we can tape this. In one room, we can have 100 tape recorders, tape-recorded at once. Do you understand? [YES!] All the members, of so many nationalities, can send us money, and we can have those tape-recorded and sent back to them. They can pay the expenses. Let them know that we will be able to send them the tape-recorded cassettes only by their sending money. (He talks so rapidly, I sometimes don't understand myself -- Mrs. Choi) We can even order the tape recorders by the hundreds from Japan. Now, do you want to buy the tape recorders? [YES!] You must be doing that and all the rest of the members, too.

If you take orders for members in other countries, you can even make money in this way; because they will expect you to send them back at a certain price and you can do the same with outsiders, and you will have no difficulty in earning money in that way either. When you do that, you can have more and more orders; and you, being the lecturer, having tape recorded that yourself, when they listen to you, they will be familiar with your voice, and they will respect you for being a capable lecturer; and you will be known throughout the country, and so many members will like a certain person to have it tape recorded and sent to you and you want to be a better lecturer. You must have the zeal and ambition to do a better job. If those listeners have some questions, they will be anxious to meet you. And, if you have no time, you can say, "I have no time for that," and they will leave and come back to visit you and even buy you dinner -- and you can talk back and forth. You can tell them that you cannot go if they don't have three to four people gathered. At the earliest possible date, you are going to have to gain 20 or more members in each state. By using this method, you can see the crops right away. Does it sound difficult? [NO!] Are you confident? [YES!] Well, if you go on using this method, the whole country will be stirred up.

There are so many people in this country, from so many nationalities, studying here; if you can get them interested in the lecture and in our movement, then sometime later they will be so interested as to bring this truth back to their own country -- and you will have earned missionaries to other countries under you. Some will be so radical as to be in a hurry to go back to their own country for this purpose -- and we will have many such missionaries to other countries. Through the tradition and foundation that Master has already laid and by using his method as the strategy, you can carry out your mission to fulfill the project in due time.

So, if you are well armed with these three ideologies, and if you are wise enough to apply and use these methods, well, no senators can compete with you, no top-level people can compete with you. Some may be skeptical about this; those who are skeptical will be failures -- but those who believe in what I say and go on doing this will be helped by the heavenly side, and you are going to be a success, victorious. Is everything clear? [YES!]

Make an official letter and let them know they have to send money in advance for the project, for the cassette tapes and things. You consult President Kim over that matter, right away. We are not going to send them the tape recorded material, but have them tape the lectures in their own language -- the leader of each nation. Let them send one copy of each lecture back to the United States Headquarters and you do [the same] with the Centers in your country, and let them do that as soon as possible. We will listen to their lectures, discuss those things, make a model lecture of each, and then we will have it tape recorded in the English language and sent out to every corner of the United States.

Do you have the day off Friday afternoon? Your weekends are not Friday afternoon, but Saturday and Sunday, right? [YES.] You have two days off? You will be working all the harder on those weekend days, and you have no time to rest. During this 100-day training session, see how many people each of you can gain for the New York Center. How many can you bring? Each of you can bring four to the New York Center while you are here. You must try hard. You must decide. Let us decide how many each one of you will bring in, minimum, for the 100 days. Well, you can talk it over and decide on the number of people you are going to bring in, you can do it later. How many people can each of you bring in during the period of 100 days? 3 months and 10 days?

[QUESTION: How much time witnessing?]

After 40 days of concentrated training, you will spend more time witnessing than in hearing the lectures. Out of the 60 days left, about 25 days will be used for witnessing purposes. Well, the minimum number of the people you are going to bring in must not be less than two -- bring in two solid members at least. And, after contacting the people, you must be diligent and write as many letters as possible to them or cal I them on the phone -- don't you let them go. You must be confident -- so confident as to contact as many people as possible, but to bring in two or more solid members who will never fall away. With that confidence, with your capability, you can have good competition among yourselves. Those who set a good record will be used for a good purpose -- to be Mobile Team Commanders. We have to make many personnel changes; those who are incapable of being leaders in the state or local centers will be shifted.. After this 100-day training session, there will be many changes coming about. Do you understand? [YES!]

Thoughts always come in flashes into his mind, so he hates to make schedules beforehand, and if he has a set schedule, he can neither violate it nor can he visit you according to that schedule -- but after this rough plan is given to you, you can walk out according to your capabilities; and he will be traveling from place to place, and if he feels like coming to you when he is drawn to you, he will come to see you. Maybe sometime, in the course of days, he will have to mobilize you or call you in the middle of the night -- two or three in the morning -- and, like soldiers, you must gather at one place, right away.

You must realize that you are in the front-line, so whenever you are called you must know how to assemble in a second, in a minute. And if you fail to do that I will court martial you. [Laughter] Are you prepared for that? Then it is decided among you and me -- so no violations. You know that if I am going to call you at three in the morning, I too have to wake up and get mobilized. Will you obey me? [YES!] Then I can come to you at midnight or 3:00 in the morning or 2:00 in the morning. I will go visit you at Washington Headquarters, nobody can say when, three or four in the morning. Can we be relaxed and can we be easy in rest while God doesn't rest and Satan doesn't rest? Those who are reluctant to do this and those who say to themselves, "Oh, things are becoming more and more difficult in this movement -- I should not have joined this movement". Then pack up your things and go away, now. Aren't you in that mood? [NO!]

If you should leave this movement, you will be forced to come back. There is no other way possible. If there were any other way possible, I would have gone that way. It is a most difficult job to be a leader to you. I am forced to do this, because I know there is no other way possible in order for us to reach God and in order to build the Kingdom of God on Earth. You must be compassionate over me as I am sympathetic with God. To be a leader is something; you can never complain against me, as I never complain against God. We are in the same shoes, we are before the same destination, same destiny. Life or death, we must be treading on the same way. If I let you do this while I am resting, taking relaxation, you can complain against me. I am doing more than what you do, and I am in the vanguard of you, paving the way.

I originally planned to visit the Mobile Teams in the front-line, right from the beginning of March, but since I am so busy, I cannot carry this out. That is why, at times, I cannot set the schedule and you must understand this. I wish I could speak your language, so that I wouldn't have to use my interpreter. Would you want that? I do, too, but I have no time. I am in the United States -- I am in a hurry. So I cannot study English. He has so many things to talk to you about. In Korea and Japan, when he speaks, he speaks like motor boats. If you really want me to learn your language, why don't you let me have some time -- by your taking any job in place of me, I can have time, and in three years I can master your language, I am confident, but I have no time for that. If I am not going to direct you, I am going to study the language; I would have no time to guide you. What will happen? So, to direct you in person, that is more important. My determination is to make out of you leaders like me or greater than me, so I am so anxious and so busy for that reason you must understand me. Do you understand? [YES!] You must be so anxious to carry out your mission as told by Master, and you must do that with your teeth gnashed. Well, every minute is so precious for you and me, and he is going to have his breakfast, and right after that he will call all the State Representatives and Mobile Team Commanders to the Main House to have a meeting there ... and the I. W.'s.

David Kim: I will take care of the administrative area. The problem is ... Master does not want official State Representatives participating in the 100-day training session -- that is the main thing. I see some of the State Representatives here according to that sign-in -- some of them overlapping. In other words, even though they are State Representatives -- he said that State Representatives who signed in have to go to their own state. That is the instruction, because that is a hindrance, because people keep coming. If the State Representative cannot be in the 100-day training, then, in that case, assistant State Representatives can attend the 100-day training. Now is that clear?

From now on, the formalities for this kind of conference should consist of prayer, song, a short speech and some remarks from someone who is appointed -- this is all to initiate this kind of conference. Also, a record of this kind of conference should be kept from now on. And when you end it up, you end with prayer. The same format goes for your state conference, your regional conference, the commanders' conference, whatever -- even in your church center. This is a new tradition you have to set up as a part of your faith in Principle and the movement. Whenever three people gather around this kind of formality -- singing and prayer -- somebody has to say something. Then you go to the conference business and end with prayer. Always consider the length of the meeting -- one or two short songs, then a short prayer, then the conference business. Especially the leaders like you people -- you are the core, nucleus, leaders of this movement. You should follow this rule, whenever two, three people gather, you have this formality. You must be seriously involved in the depths of the Principle message, creating an atmosphere of faith. I will show you the pattern from now on. Then I will do the song and prayer and I will designate somebody. How about Jon Schuhart? You have to sing something, then we will get down to business.

Our beloved heavenly Father. Thank you for this wonderful gathering at this conference, in which we are to discuss many things, to promote this work, to set up an ideal kingdom on earth, Father. But we have to get through the fight, because Satan holds everything under his control, so we are going to attack with heavenly weapons, and we will smash all these elements of evil. We are here for this; we have been trained, we have been studying, we have been in fellowship in this conference, Father. Bless each one of us this afternoon and this morning, so that we can really be reaching the goal we have planned, to elevate our spirit and body to the level of perfection, because we are going to follow our True Parents. Father, stimulate constantly our soul and body, which have to move together as one unit before we do anything to attack the enemy camp. Father, rule over our hearts and minds in this session of the conference, so that we can get lots of fruit out of this country. We are grateful that we are here in Belvedere and in attendance with our True Parents and we walk together horizontally, our loving brothers and sisters. Father, always let each of us feel that we belong to you, we are children of our True Parents. Be with us from this moment until we depart to go to our battlefield; encourage us, stimulate us and give us spiritual manna. We ask all this in the precious name of our True Parents. Amen.

Now, I would like to ask Jon Schuhart -- but this time our Father will give encouraging remarks. He will now give a message called "Our Goal."

Our wishes, our hopes are not necessarily for us only. Our wishes and hopes are representing God's wishes and hopes, too. We must know what His wishes and His hopes are. Number one is to conquer the spiritual Satan; number two is to end the Satanic sovereignty of evil on earth. Whenever you say "Heavenly Father," you have to think of these two things: spiritual Satan and substantial Satan of this sovereignty of evil on earth. Without our victory over both Satan and the sovereignty of evil on earth, we cannot fulfill His cherished desire and hope. In that sense, our heavenly Father will look at you before He is doing something to Satan or the evil sovereignty of this earth. He will look at you first. This is called, in the Principle message, the "Standard of the Principle." This is the Principle: Lucifer, the Archangel, should be under Adam; the reverse situation caused this problem of the Fall, according to this Fall, so this is the reverse of this sovereignty. The same thing will apply to this earth: the sovereignty of this earth should be under Adam.

With this task of both victory over Satan and the sovereignty on earth, completely crushing them, we have to think of our ancestors as not fulfilling their mission and their responsibilities. This kind of punitive resentment, this unfulfilled task, we have to clear. Also it is their fault that we have to go through this path of indemnity. What does God think about prolongation of this realization of the ideal sovereignty on earth? It is derived from the failure of our ancestors. Whatever would our heavenly Father think when He looks at the past? Also, we have to think of our mission: not only are we the conquerors of the spiritual Satan and substantial evil sovereignty on earth, but we also have to liberate our heavenly Father, who still wishes us to fulfill this task unfinished by our ancestors. So we have to have the lead over this very Satan, this very earth of evil sovereignty; in our project we have to attack. Also, we have to return it to God. Naturally, we have to fight its battles, we are the ones. If we cannot win the victory, we will be under the old Satan again; and if we fail, our God will be plunged into God's restriction by the Satanic force. Then this means that we are leading our God into a more difficult situation.

We have to initiate this battle -- especially America, who is the leader representing the free nations. We are the ones. Also, our group, you people are the only leaders who initiate this kind of a gigantic battle. Our goal is to liberate the human heart under Satan and liberate our heavenly Father, who has been suffering so long. This is our goal. Is this clear now? This is a short speech.

Whenever you say "Heavenly Father" you curse Satan and his evil sovereignty. You have got to have a spirit of vengeance inside. So we cannot be loose or lazy -- we have got to be serious. If you are brave and determined, I will be with you. We will be the victors, and accomplish our goal.

So from now on we will conduct a business conference. Now, this is the time for him, the True Parent, to listen to your reports. We have 40 people and it is very hard for everybody to give a long speech or a long summary. If 30 minutes each, then we have to stay only 20 hours. Those who have nothing to report, you need not blab. Whenever you next organize a conference, remember to think of this: someone reporting from a state is valuable -- it can be spread over the whole United States -- good things, good strategy, something like that. Those who have nothing, don't speak.

We have to adopt a good method, a good manner of reporting good stories, substantial strategies; we have to share, we can have someone take little notes, next time we meet. Sometimes you have trouble -- not always good news -- then you present it -- you need some help from a higher level, the national -- regional level, that kind of thing you have to present. Whenever you have a successful story or instance, which has value to spread on our worldwide level, you may use the national publication at Headquarters, and also the Way of the World magazine, which can be used for this purpose -- so you have to send this kind of material to others. In this case, every other month, if we have this kind of a conference, if news comes, it will be evaluated by the American President, Mr. Salonen, who will pick up the material in more detail. You will have to provide this material. So, you have to prepare this kind of material whenever you come to good news or difficult problems to solve, international or national level, so prepare.

All of our movement's activities should be known on the worldwide level, to the worldwide Principle Family. Don't you feel curious about what Master is doing all the time? [Yes!] This is the axis: how we are the same throughout the world, the same thing. Exchange of news, this is the axis. How we are going to cross to him, in any way, that is the thing you have to think about. When you are giving all this information about him, when you tell your students or your members, you become one, they become close to you, because you are giving information about our Master. All Mobile Team Commanders received David Kim's letter or memorandum, saying that our Master -- were you very pleased to get it or not? [Yes!] The same thing. This is a special tie or connection to promote spirituality. So each state must ask, "Where is our Master, True Parents?" Even send some money bribing us in Korea: "Give us some information; you got it? " You have to do it that way. All the world will be doing the same thing; you had better start early. Those who are close to him, giving this kind of close information, will be much better informed, better treated by the people -- far better than Principle lecturers. You can get all the information -- Mother and Father -- or go back to Korea and stay with the children, and go to the school-and their daily schedules, if you get information -- lots of material you can gather -- that will be a wonderful source.

If you can get quicker information, you are in a far better position than the National Headquarters and Neil Salonen; and if you get it, it will be a wonderful thing, some information you get that even National Headquarters doesn't know, in this area. You will find the same thing in the One World Crusade unit region, State Representatives, Itinerary Workers, all these doing the same thing, centering on our True Parents. That is highly spiritual, very easy to work with; you will be respected, you will be in a really good position to work together -- because you become one centering on our True Parents. Do you understand? [Yes!] Your secret is the greatest position you are in -- how much you are centered on him, his information, his principled life, his future plans. You have to get information from some other source; for instance, yesterday he went to New York. You have to find out what happened. I have already given you something. He knows you people aren't too interested in what he is doing; you expect somebody to call you on the telephone and tell you what Master said in New York. I would like to have these American commanders or leaders become that way about him. In the future, you have got to have a movement as such. State Representatives, Mobile Commanders, somebody dispatch the reporter, heavenly reporter in Washington D. C. -- "What is our Master doing?"

This is a big issue. The same thing is happening in the Satanic world with Nixon, your President in the Satanic world. How much more important is my world. Shouldn't we have that kind of information? In the worldly sense, they are doing the same thing. So, if you don't know the times, what he is doing, what is going on, you are far behind. So, you just go to Washington, find someone, give them the money -- for airmail or something like that, and so forth -- to get the information -- axis of heavenly center to you. You will be in better oneness with your new members and territory of State Representatives, whatever. Then, wherever you go, they don't want to let you go -- they will all the time hang around you, because you are a person centering on our True Parents, you have something which they don't have. Then that kind of material comes naturally, our Master, our True Parents -- so pick it up, the higher level, already concerned about you -- make this kind of thing happen. You are competing on the horizontal level; this is good, in a good sense, in a constructive way -- competing with one another already: Mobile Unit [Commanders], Itinerary Workers, State Representatives, national and regional. Then, naturally, static will come up, since we are living in competition. Individual merit, results, accomplishment counts -- and your personality. Your individual merit, accomplishments and good results count. That is the same with Master: if Master has not merit, degree or accomplishment, something that somebody else doesn't have, why in the world is he the top? If he says something and does not accomplish it in practice, he can be useless. If you speak but do not practice, that is like a car with no wheels; you should have a wheel, but there is no wheel there. How are you going to move -- if you say something -- no practice -- one wheel? In a Western movie, how are you going to pull a stage coach?

Do you think you will progress if he lets you do your will or if you follow his will? [His will!] Then, if you are going to do this, then follow him, not the middle of the road. Excellently -- the best way you can follow him; then the dispensation will be speeded up. Public relations should be emphasized from now on -- information exchange -- city, regional, national and international levels -- a public office and information exchange on each level. Public relations needs some kind of informal, quick dispatch. These people -- State Representatives, Mobile Commanders -- will do, along this line, even if you are late in this area. If there is a vast difference when the information comes out, then the State Representatives -- under them are three, four churches, and they have a circulation of information like the Mobile Commander -- a comparison will come up -- he doesn't want you to lose National Headquarters prestige. You should have a staff of superior quality. So you have to be well staffed in this Public Relations Department. This kind of conference -- first time for this kind of conference in the United States with our Master. To those people attending, this is very, very important historically. So we want you to make a list and sign it and send it out. Later.

Now, because of this tradition set up today, after we die -- 100 years, 1,000 years later, and whatever -- three generations and mankind will follow, because you, setting this kind of formula -- they will follow as a tradition, it is very important. Forget about saying, "I will do a better job tomorrow." Forget tomorrow; do it now, today. This is the standard of a new tradition, today, now -- not tomorrow. When you think this way, say, "I will do it today; we will claim the victory." You must do it now or else you are losing. Conceptualize this kind of thinking. Understand so far? [Yes!]

Then, if you have nothing to report, skip over and say, "I have nothing." You have five minutes to say something. Summarize, if you have a lot to say. He wants to listen to your problems -- on a broad scale he knows what your problems are -- but he would like to listen then to the common problems in summary. He will give a solution. He has some idea, broadly, he has some idea. So, we will give you five minutes, and if you don't have it, I have one. Later, if you have something to say to Master by me, divide it up, give it to me; I am information officer for him, okay?

It seems to be discourteous to make you sit in the Oriental way. Since you are broader, and you are the Western cultural people -- he feels it is not polite. So, in the Oriental way, this kind of a form [sitting on knees], no other way, this way -- that other way of sitting is considered very insulting -- this kind of Oriental way is very hard for you; that is why he feels bad about putting you in this kind of way. We, the Japanese, this way -- this is a sincere attitude, of course, but at times very poor economically, so that sometimes we have a hole in the socks. Of course, this is a position of bowing and sovereignty to the elders. He thinks because of the humble attitude of the Oriental people, this way (of sitting) started. He does not want you to right now, but he is talking about later trying this. Now, elders can show to the youngers, right? Not the other way. From now on, I want you to adjust to this way, because up to now, when overseas Families come, those with long legs, they stretch, and he allows them to do that. But, from now on, he is not going to take that anymore. So, you have to change to this genuine Korean habit. Then they will say, "Oh, American Mobile Commanders, American State Representatives, American IW's are different from the early visitors of America to Korea who had not been trained that way." So that there is even a physical [change] in our movement. The same thing goes for diplomats: when going abroad. they should study the country's customs and courtesy and do as the tradition says. You are going to Japan and Korea often from now on. Don't think Master sticks only to the Korean, Oriental way of living, okay? You need training, but I cannot push you too hard -- so gradual training will be done. Even if sometimes harsh, you just overcome it. This is part of the training.

[Reports of National Headquarters followed]

As you have heard, the Republic of Korea, the government, President Park is trying to find or establish a subjective thought to compete with or challenge the communist theories in North Korea; so he delegated this kind of a job to Korean professors and intellectuals. Finally, after much research, they ended up with: "Now we can do that; we have to delegate this one existing -- three indigenous religions from Korea: the Heavenly Way Religion (Religion of the Heavenly Way), our ancestral religion in Korea, and the Unification Church -- these indigenous religions." When they finally ended up with one of the founders of the Heavenly Way -- he had a session with our Master, of course, before -- and he said, "Our Religion of the Heavenly Way is confined to the national level; we cannot develop more than that -- only the Unification Church is international, on the world level." They recommended us. So, as it ended up, they had to contact our church. And, more recent reports say that, as of April 1st, the Korean government

Then, the second training will begin in September. Then, all government employees will come to learn to smash the ideology of communism. You have no other way. So, this information is not widely spread in Korea. You have gotten the first impression because of this special training. This is all secret, but you got the literal translation from Mrs. Choi; you got a spiritual privilege.

[Audience Participant:] Maybe someone from Korea will call us up and bribe us for this information.

[Leader]: This is factual data, so you have to have faith in what you are doing, prepare for it, the Divine Principle. This is a fact. You have got to prepare. It is, coming.

Now, you will be curious: what in the world is your spiritual mother and missionary [Miss Kim] doing from now on? So he [Master] is going to give you some information. Between 1973-1974, she is specially assigned to explore her field of academic specialization, theology. She is going to set up a new Unification Theology. From now on, she is going to be a lecturer and author, That is an honorable title. She, as author and lecturer for our Unification Church, will (by 1974) be finishing her book, called Unification Theology. From now on, she will be coming and going. In both Washington, D. C. and Belvedere there will be a place for her. So she will be recruiting some staff assistants to make this publication possible. Pray. She needs your confident and constant prayer. How about that? [Applause]

When you have a public ministry, when you are a minister of our Master and this Principle work, do not stand by yourself. That means you have to pray. You have to start preparation based on prayer. Don't come out to the public without a prayer foundation. You must not think you are alone: why? When you stand at the pulpit, you have to remember that Satan is right there. He is working against you. That is why he said that you must not think you are alone; there is our enemy Satan right there, in front of you. If you do wrong this time, now, the only thing is that you will be accused by Satan -- Satan's accusation. All the people (10 people or the number you have) will be led to the Satanic side. You are serious now, don't think you are not. You must be conqueror, winning victory over Satan. Conquer, then all things come back to you as a victor. I am a sword, you are a sword. You are a knife, sharpened sword. You are to become a heavenly sword. Now, you think you have the handle to the knife, but you think God holds it, not you; even though you are holding it, God holds it with you.

Then, when you prepare in this way, you stand out with this belief. Then when you fight Satan, heaven will be with you, right there, immediately. Then, when you hit the enemy, others will come and come after this way. If you hit first, hit successfully, you will get it. When you are crying, already the congregation will be crying. When you laugh, everybody will laugh. Why? You have it right now. So, everybody feels like heavenly troops, actual troops marching on. Then you projected that actual feeling, then you did it in a spiritual sense. This is the Principled way: subject, object, give and take, multiplication, and power is generated. Then, if you do this for 10-15 hours, you are lightened, you are happy, you are very, very even -- and you don't feel tired. Even if you are perspiring, from the hard labor of preaching, you will feel wonderful. This kind of result will come. Why don't you pray harder and prepare for it?

When you write with heart, with tears, the recipient will have the same effect, your crying, the same heart you had when you wrote. It is natural, then, that if you cry hard, really, your neighbor -- or the person beside you -- there will be a chain reaction. The same goes with a joyous or happy thing, the same thing we can share, this same Principle. The worst and the best one very quickly multiply. Do you follow me? The worst and the best of things both multiply very easily. Two extremes can multiply very easily. When you are the preacher, the minister, instead of the worst, you have to take the best part. You are adjusting now, you are handling it now. So, you have to start from goodness, the good standpoint, every minute. The others started from evil -- you are good -- naturally you shall win. So, you must prepare when you teach, when you stand at the pulpit.

Three hours of preparation with prayer is necessary if you are going to present one hour of lecture. A one-hour lecture needs a three-hour preparation, with firm prayer, and then you will get it. You ask the question, "What can I do -- I have no time?" Then your sincere, serious prayer, if you have no time. In an irritating atmosphere you are most anxious -- that is the worst condition. You should be serious, and in a short period of time, pray to God. You must be serious -- the same feeling as if you were in a courtroom receiving the judge's verdict. That serious a nature you must have. Then, with this kind of a heart you come down and you grasp heaven, stand at the pulpit, preach and present the lecture; you will be rewarded. Is it clear now?

You try -- it works. Then you will sense that God is living, God is alive, and you will think, "I am not alone," even though physically you are alone. That is what he meant by your not being alone. Now, if you experience in the east corner, then the west corner, then the south corner, and then the north, you will be multiplying your confidence. Then you will spread this kind of power throughout the world. That is why preparation is important before you do something for souls. When you receive somebody physically, you prepare, if you have invited somebody to your house. You are doing the same thing -- a heavenly reception for the dead soul that comes to your house. The same thing: how much will your guest be pleased at your house, smile -- the same thing. In a spiritual sense, you are preparing so that that soul will be glad, will follow you, will come to you. Don't you think that this is logical? You must prepare spiritually the same as you would prepare physically if you were receiving people.

Even our True Parents, our Master, is not relaxed at any time. All the time he is under constant pressure and anxiety this kind of a state of mind. On that basis he is still living. He is expecting, all the time, direct heavenly instructions from the heavenly Father. He is expecting these any time -- so he is ready, he is prepared all the time. Without other preparations, such as old notes -- if you stand with this man you can talk freely. God will use your body as an instrument. You just say anything, spontaneously, just like our Master. You see how our Master talks: anytime, suddenly, he has not time to prepare, no need for him. You will do the same thing.

The problem is, when you treat somebody to something material, you have to put it together, like cooking. Cooking something is a tangible thing for the guests. The same thing is true spiritually, even though you know the Principle. Of course, Master is the founder and originator of this; but with this preparation, you should have the recipe, heavenly spiritual recipe to feed somebody. That is another area you have to prepare for. You should be open-minded, to learn many things from others. There are many, many things; many, many people; many, many areas. Still, our Master is open to learn. All the time, he concentrates on learning, studying. You will fail completely if you think, "I, the Director, am such and such -- I know something." You will be out of the picture if you think that way. This is wonderful: ex-President Farley Jones became one of the Mobile Unit Commanders; though it looks like a [demotion] , it is a wonderful chance for him to learn and develop many things. Are you happy now? If you had stayed the same way, if things had stayed the same, it would be very monotonous, this way, sometimes. You must have multiple-aspect functions and motions. Sometimes you cannot say, "I don't like it." How you have to sometimes like it. Sometimes you feel like this. So, if you don't like this way, you will not be happy when the time comes that you will have to do this. You have to accept every position. Our Master, he says, is multiple-oriented. If need be, he will go to a labor camp -- he will do that, right now. He has done everything in human society, every occupation. If we are going to save the person in the dungeon, we have to go to the dungeon -- to sense it, be with them, know it; otherwise, you cannot save that kind of a person. You have to think that there is a high mountain there; that means there is also a deep valley somewhere around the mountain. Is that clear? You have to train this way, before you get old, within you must know this, before 30 years of age.

Suppose you are a ship. You want to go this way and that, sometimes right and left, sometimes winding. Do not think that this ship should always go the straightest way. As human beings in this world, we have to think -- we have to go back to the other world, and we have to learn many things while we are on earth -- sometimes good and sometimes bad, sometimes worse, but you have to face all the walks of life that a human can tread. Sometimes good things become bad ones; bad ones become good ones, too. In case you are in a bad spot, who knows, your heavenly chance may be open for somebody. Sometimes world famous chances for an individual will be open. So you don't have to discriminate that way. So you have to be open-minded; seek some things, even though sometimes you have to go to the attic or the basement -- you must be constantly searching. As a spiritual leader, you should have this kind of attitude. Before you get old, why not follow the directional area -- learn from experience. Don't you think all aspects of human life are searching? You don't know where to go. Always be happy, be joyful within your heart. When you are crying, nobody is going to join you. So, be happy, be joyful, giving thanks. So I want you to literally try smiling all the time, trying to smile. Learn how to dance and practice it.

So, this is the situation: everybody has a weak point and a strong point; so you have to get your friends, your workers, your brother or sister to supplement that area for you -- then you can perfect that area. You have to serve that person; you have to love him in order for him to follow you. So that person is important to you, to perfect your job; he will supplement, fill the gap of your weak point. By loving him, by working together, respecting him, that is the only way. As a leader, you have to be a real friend at the worst time, in the most disastrous situation. You have to be a friend -- at the most joyous time you have to be a friend, the saddest time, most sorrowful time, the happiest time. Then; through three categories of this instance, you really become friends; then you will win the heart of the people. Do not miss that chance. If you are working together -- your friend or brother -- this is a good chance forties together, to fulfill our heavenly mission. This has been the secret word; he kept it in his bosom and now he is revealing it to you. Don't you appreciate it?

Then, that person whom you helped in the worst instance, you will get. Whenever they have some problem they come to you, because you already did it. The happiest time, they will come to you, because you did it; at the worst time, they will come to you. If you treat them as a mother, brother or sister would, then you will be with them all the way. In your life, then, you have a partner. So, you have to know this to be a wonderful leader of this movement. We can summarize the human aspect in two different categories: good and bad, going and coming, eating and sleeping (that is six) -- we can summarize human behavior in life. Don't you think everything human fits into six categories? Going and coming, eating and sleeping, good and bad.

This will be the key point, will make you a valuable person: how are you going to make these six areas harmoniously operating and dealing with one another, to make harmony? From whom you learn to discern the good and bad, for whom you are going to go and come, for whom you are doing all this sleeping and eating -- for whom -- you have got to set up a goal. If you are not a thief or robber in this area, but you are giving out, you are serving others, you are all right. Do not be a robber or thief in this area -- if you are selfish you become a thief; but if you do this kind of thing for others, you are doing fine. The same applies to the children in your center. You have to stand in a more subjective position than the newcomers, all those who are center members. Always, you have to do more; the more you can serve the members, the better you will occupy that position. You must always treat these people with a kind and wonderful heart; and then if you are physically separated, they are attracted to you -- when you are gone, they want you to come back. Even if you are separated, they want to be by you.

When you are sad, you have to project your goodness to others. When they are sad, you have to comfort them. The same thing applies to when you eat and sleep and dress. This is the life of a parent, parental life. Human life should be this way. So when you look at it this way, our human life is not rough. When you live this human life, based on the six categories, always think, "I want to give, rather than be the debtor." You have to always give something. You have to carry out this kind of a heart. You have to pass. We are about to leave for witnessing and missionary work and pioneering -- why are we going? You are not going to search for something, you are going out to give something to another person. You have to give something, heaven and earth in it; you have to think this way. "I just go witnessing, I just do this kind of spiritual work" -- that is not right. You have to set up this kind of a concept. When you come back home to the center, you have to come back, you have to report to God what you have done. Everything is connected this way -- what you do, why you are happy. You have to be happy for Him. You have to be sad, not for yourself, but for the whole world. What do I eat? -- I have to take care of myself because I am for God and all mankind. If in practicing this way, you think you are declining and perishing, come to our Master to protest.

So, we have to arrange this way before you become a real leader of this movement. In case you are extremely hungry, fasting or whatever -- but here is the food there -- instead of you going to eat this, have you ever thought about giving the food to others? If you are extremely hungry or tired, then you will think how much you did, even though you are tired, "I am tired for somebody." Have you ever thought that when you go out, you are not going for yourself, you are going for God, to give something valuable to the people at that time? Have you ever tried to go this way, going out, past the saints and patriots, to give the real meaning of God? Have you ever gone someplace, have you ever done it this way? You go somewhere; you come back to report to God to help. In the same way, Master did not come to retreat to this country or to receive glory from others. He came with the attitude: "I have to give something to it." Actual truth: with his heart he came to this country. Not only did he come to Belvedere, but he wanted to go everywhere, throughout the states, the whole country -- nationwide. So, you are here, because he cannot go, you are going out, and you are receiving from him. On behalf of him, he wants to give this kind of truth.

That is why you are here, to receive this. Also, he expects you to go out with this same feeling, this same concept of God, and to be happy when you give it to somebody; then, they will be happy. That is why you report all these things to heaven; that is the purpose. So, he expects you to leave here with the same feeling with which he came to this country. He wants to distribute this feeling to you. You may find some sadness and difficult situations. For whom are you doing this? For God, for heaven and for this nation. For goodness -- you being happy and good, for what? For this nation and for God. The reason why you have to eat, the reason why you have to rest and sleep is to make you more meaningful to God tomorrow. You should have that kind of concept.

Have you ever done it this way in the past? So, you have to mind the conditions -- if you get to a house in the middle of the night and all the windows and doors are locked, you have to urge yourself to knock on the door. So, whenever you see a new person come, you are so glad to have this one person come to see you, to receive this truth. So the Bible says: "Knock, and the door will be opened." This is your part. Those you are looking for, you will meet. Have you ever done this in the past? Have you ever thought deep thoughts in front of your following? Even when you are alone, raising questions -- how can I be alone here in this room? -- so, even if you may think -- even using the method of door-to-door visiting -- even if you have to urge yourself to go out -- that kind of a conception. If you cry, stir up the neighborhood, then people come and say, "What in the world do you want? You are crying."

So, through this kind of route, you are even trying to do the spirit -- this kind of message -- or give this truth and love. Do you ever think in this way? If you are serious, then when you have this kind of mind condition, when you go to witness to somebody, God and spirit world have already prepared for it. So you have to search for what condition you have to set up to receive heavenly cooperation. No other place except here and you -- success, no other place but human life. Then, you have to evaluate yourself: what points do you have in evaluating these six aspects of daily life? The problem is you -- not others -- you. If you have a problem of having no witnessing success, that means not the city itself, but you have a problem. You have to find yourself. In front of the mirror, you must look at yourself. What kind of a person are you? Eyes, mouth and nose -- you have to know yourself, find out yourself. Do you understand what I mean so far? [Yes!]

Not only manners in the grooming and hygiene area, but he talked also about the faith aspect -- faith condition as a spiritual leader -- he talked about this so far. Then, if you reach this stage, both man and God will be pleased with you. Then when you propose to do a better job, heaven will be pleased. Then, the public, the people, will be glad to do it; then, we will be flourishing and not perishing. Automatically and naturally, we will flourish. Think, "Then, how are we going to make me that kind of a person?" You have got to be constantly trying to reach that stage -- how you are going to effectively give something life, give something love. How can I be effective, several times? One time, really influence the person with whom you are going to work. If that kind of an individual reaches that state, everybody will be bowing to you, even the heavenly Father will bow to you -- they will greet you. It applies to the Western world, too. He believes it. Isn't that true? [Yes!] It works in the Orient; so, at the same time, it works in the Western world. Then, if it works in this area, if there is a hell, then hell will welcome it, too. Then even if the people in hell are bad, they will accept your light -- they will accept that you are light. So, it automatically reaches to heaven too.

So, this way: up and down, right and left, every corner, four directions, it fits, it applies. It is finished. Then that means wherever you go, that place is your kingdom, right? Wherever you go, that is your kingdom right there. This kingdom of heaven is not far away, it is not difficult, when you look at it this way. If these kinds of individual beings appeared on earth, automatically God would come down and dwell with them. The Sermon on the Mount says that those who are poor will be the blessed, will have the kingdom of God. Always you have to face heaven, when you feel that you have given everything, but you want to give more. If you have given all you have, you feel, "I have to give more, somewhere, someplace." Even if you have given everything, you feel ashamed because you cannot give more, because you have none -- that kind of a feeling, that kind of a concept, is the key. This is entirely contrary to the world's reasoning. In Satan's world, if you give somebody something, you make a big deal out of it: "Oh, I gave something." But you are ashamed now, why, because you have to give more, entirely a present. This kind of faith attitude, faith status is necessary for you to be a leader. [Yes!]

Then you will become men of responsibility. What kind of a personal man of responsibility is able to participate -- yesterday, he talked about Abel's position in the morning sermon. And then you have to be -- as a leader and a man of responsibility-- you must love God and Cain. First chapter of your diary should say, "I must love God and Cain"; chapter two, "I have to see the things that Cain likes before God sees them." You must first like Cain, before you like or love God; that is chapter two. Then God will like you. Without Cain, God cannot come down to you. Abel should like Cain, what chapter is that? -- chapter two. Third chapter is: no claim of yourself, no existence of your claim -- then you have to say, "We both will die together"-- this is a third chapter. You have no claim at all -- you are non-existent, but you say, "I will die with both." Then you will meet the True Parents; then you become one. Abel must become one with Cain, then you will restore the True Parents. Then, after you say we are going to die, then you meet the True Parents, in chapter four, then you claim your own -- how about that? You are non-existent before the True Parents. You cannot claim yourself and say, "I am." You don't exist before them. You never did in the past, did you?

"Oh, you don't know who I am" -- that kind of pride, you had it. Then you never knew this kind of heavenly formula. What does chapter one say? Love God and Cain. Second chapter? You have to like Cain more than you like God. Third chapter? We both will die together. We both have the blood lineage of Satan and to be reborn, we have to die first. Then in chapter four: you will have met the True Parents. And when you meet the True Parents, you are existing, you can claim you are existing. It becomes my God, my world and my parents. Do you understand? [Yes!] Have you lived that way? There is the Principle right there -- you should know this. Then, we will say to God, "Yes, it is true, you are right -- the True Parents, even Satan." Even this Archangel we will win; every person involved, everybody will come -- we must reach that stage. This is the Principled way. Then, if you become that, a man of responsibility, nobody will dislike you, everybody will love you. Don't you think that if this kind of person exists, that the people, the neighborhood, will naturally come and gather around? Of course they will come around.

And now you know, so far, the claim of the man of responsibility. Then, if you practice it this way, there will be no problems. That takes your energy, time and concentration. The degree of these three elements will determine your success. You must have concentration of heart, effort and time. There are the key elements for your success, in addition to your qualifications as a man of responsibility. All right? Then, this covers everything. Then all the world will be coming to you. Is it as simple as that? I have many things to say that you cannot bear. By this time, it is getting late, so he plans to release you. Do you have any proposals, or what? So much for the man of responsibility who should equip himself. Now he is going to talk about another thing. How about evangelism, witnessing area.

Why don't you try to give the impression that you are a new citizen of the town, the state, neighborhood, village; that these people are very interesting young people and groups. Interest begins the heavenly business. Arouse their interest. If in your center -- it is newly set up or rented, whatever -- all the time the neighbors hear some kind of a song, lively song, good-natured song, life-giving song -- all these songs should come out from this house. All the time you should have a food element there, a smile and a flowery, beautiful perfume flavor -- all the time a live something in that place, permeating the neighborhood. All the time, smiling and wonderful harmonies come out to the neighborhood. Why don't you, instead of going all the time -- brother-sister, brother-brother, etc -- two or three people all the time walking together in that neighborhood. Sometimes you not , only mingle together, working in the neighborhood among the young people -- but sometimes you are with elders or seniors, the older generation. Show to the neighborhood. Sometimes you love the neighborhood children, too. Actually, your church center or house should be a different environment from the existing environment of that old time, since you moved into that church center. That house should be environmentally interesting to other people.

Then you have to tackle the problem of up-and-down area -- by which he means there is the older generation, younger generation and children, too. With good PR, result will come out through the old people; and the children are good PR agents. If you can, deal with the children, and teach them the songs, and learn to like them in your neighborhood. So you had better start a Sunday school if your church grows. This is the fastest way to reach the neighborhood. Also, you have to approach the elderly person. The aged people are neglected in this country, so you have to approach this from a different angle. That will be a great sensation. That way, you will cover from the children to the old folks, this area; you have to fill this gap in this nation. The next stage is to work in some attractive area, in which young people are interested. So, you young people should know how to practice exercises. You should like lots of sports, athletics; that you have to develop. Sometimes races, games, horseback riding, hobbies, that area you have to think up. Also, musically, you have to develop. Then, every aspect of our children and young people and older folks you have to cover through different channels.

So, you have to spread a sort of spiritual spider's web, in your neighborhood. Then all the neighborhood will be saying, "That house is a different house -- That is a special house" with the knowledge that this is an extraordinary place. Then you will reach local celebrities -- such as in New York City: the city mayor, senators, congressmen and even the governor. That kind of a person, you invite him to your place. Then, you open your house wide open and invite everybody from your neighborhood. Invite your neighbors when this celebrity comes -- then ask your visitor to give a speech to the neighborhood. You invite the people of the neighborhood; they will be good contacts. You must have a number. It is very easy to invite celebrities from your town or state, but you have got to have a number -- that is the key. Then you are influencing not only your neighbors, but also the celebrity. Then, you develop to the next stage: some kind of project, some kind of city-cleaning project is good, or a family counseling project, or some kind of youth program, or drug prevention. All kinds of youth programs -- you can begin right there. Then you will have a big PR victory with this material, reach the celebrities and make a big issue of it.

You can organize many things and it will start up from that time. Then the mayor and celebrities will come: "I am here not because I am great, because I was invited, but because I am impressed with your work, and I am here." He has to exhibit why he is there. Then your center, your neighborhood and your city all mingle together, and environmentally you are in very good shape. Then you visit the interior with all the deans and college professors and presidents and ask them, "Why don't you invite us to your place?" Then you will have the last chance to have a big battle. You appeal to the young people, if you ever get a chance through this -- the president or dean will give the young people to you or give you a chance to have a talk or presentation, whatever, on the campus. You appear, and then this is the last battle -- you are going to have success. This can be applied in a small town, in a big city or a metropolitan area. The same rules go for the various states and various levels of cities. So, now it is the same strategy that Master uses. So, he naturally has met many, many people, senators and so on. He is laying the foundation within his strategy. Then, if we have 10,000 people under his command, then we will invite people to this assembly of 10,000 and they will come, because they are curious. This case in New York: the mayor will come, senators will come, congressmen will come, whomever he invites.

With this kind of plan, individually, you have to set up a plan through which he can project this national-level fight. So, he will do the same thing to solve the world's problems, on the international level. Do you understand what he is planning? [Yes!] You must be ready, with this environmental factor. Then you will succumb to elderly persons, celebrities, responsible people -- and you can expand from the city, village, town, county and state. Then you can do any kind of project, if we reach that state. In order to make this, you are doing everything. Sometimes go to the farm; sometimes you are witnessing, you are working hard -- witnessing, preaching, lecturing, for this purpose. Don't you think this is possible? [Yes!] So, please do extraordinary things when you witness.

The statement he says is do extraordinary things, you do look crazy to people, but you do everything with a purpose -- like at midnight, maybe it does not fit your culture -- ringing bells and going to each house, passing out literature. It may look like an extraordinary, crazy thing, but you are doing this for a certain purpose to set up the foundation. So, you have to engage in extraordinary things for this one purpose. Then somebody will say, "What are you doing, you crazy man?" You say, "I am distributing literature," and they say, "How many have you distributed and you say, "Thousands -- it is an ordinary thing." And the person will be amazed at what you are doing -- she will think, "What content do you have here?" and will be curious. There are various kinds of witnessing methods. Then -- sometimes extraordinary methods -- you will play the game of "Kick the dog," and then make an issue of it: you, kill the dog, pick it up, bring it over and you will have a chance to, talk about something. It may not fit , but ordinary people don't do that. You hit a poor person intentionally, and then pretend that it was an accident, and from there a conversation starts: "Do you hurt somewhere and where is your house?"

You have all the information this way. From there witnessing starts. You are playing the games right now -- this is a part of witnessing. Sometimes, when you play, you grab his necktie and hit him -- you are in a rage at the time -- and when you calm down, he says, "Once I did the same thing" and you have a common ground right there. The person might say, "I did, while I was young, the same thing -- but, you are more brave than I was." You may have a chance to have a conversation. Say to them, "Let us go talk, and I will buy you lunch." Then you start with what you would like to say. You have got to give some extraordinary impression to remain in that person's heart. So, you cannot say there is no method to win his heart. Sometimes you can go to a farm, and if nobody shows up, then you scream -- farm has milk -- he said meadow -- the farm has a milk cow -- and if nobody shows up, you hit the cow with a club, then somebody will come up. You are plotting to win the soul. Sometimes you will not do exactly the same thing, but in a different way. You tell the person, "I hit the cows, because I thought they were well tamed; so I planned to test how your cow is responding." So, you begin your conversation like that. Sometimes you can block traffic in a nice car, and they cannot hit you -- you stay right there -- this crazy thing you are doing is not for you, actually and eventually it is for the other person.

Now, in order to win the woman, the wife of the husband -- he [Leader] planned to win her. He stayed in that house for one year and six months in order to approach her -- one person. He was a target of hatred for the husband, but he ate together with that family -- our Master preserved his prestige; he insisted on staying there, even though at the table, the husband didn't like him at all. He had to be dumb; the husband would not let him talk. That kind of persecution he was receiving, but he stayed there for that one purpose. So, later, he succeeded; the house wanted went to God's side. Because of the dispensation, that house was so important to God. By that family coming to God, thousands and thousands of people will be saved, by God's dispensational planning. So, he did it, one year and a half, that period of time for one person. So, your brain is to be used. If you do not use it, you become dull.

8,000 members by 1974, that is our goal. If we don't do that, all of our Principle Family, from all over the world, will dash to your country to put you to shame. At that time, you will be the disgraced sons of America. It will be a shameful thing if this happens, because you are a leader of a free nation, you are a citizen of the leading free nation. What in the world is going on if this thing happens -- if from all the states, from all over the world, they come dashing to rescue you? It would be better to die than to have this type of shameful situation. If you die, why don't you die for God? If you do that, that will be a little bit better. Don't you think so? [Yes!] Two years before us. One conversion per month per member. How about that -- three ones in the movement. One person, one soul, one month.

I am getting too aggressive now. So much for instructions to you. Now he is going to talk about the One World Crusade. You have two vans right now. He will give you a strategy for the New York center, before you go tomorrow. He has already made arrangements for five vans to mobilize in New York City. One driver, one receiver and the contacts will be riding in the vans to come back to the main center. Then, 10 people go out and bring people -- let them ride in the van and bring them to the church center, to listen to the lecture. Today, they had 50 people come to the lecture. You have to lecture; there must be uniformity throughout the nation and worldwide, so you have to follow this spiritual pattern: three times for lecture, 12:30, 4:30 and 7:30. 12:30 -- to bring the people, then your mobile vans will be waiting and witnessing and bringing them over. The direct approach is necessary. Start talking about how this nation is dying under the threat of communism -- we have to save it -- we have something to offer, and so forth. Block them on the street, grab them, use a direct approach to bring them over. You can use an enthusiastic attitude. The girls should be more stubborn, more aggressive than the boys in order to bring them over to the center. Say, "Why don't you come along with us? We have a ride for you." Then, you have to present an enthusiastic lecture presentation.

Now, suppose we have new people in the audience here right now. Always the new people should be sandwiched between you, with you sitting on the right and left side of the person. Beside a man, it is better that a sister sit there. In front of the man, a woman better sit -- encircle them. Physically, spiritually, you are encircling this one person. You must have a seating arrangement, Everyday you take notes, you are seriously listening. Four members per person -- front, back, right, and left. Now if it is a male contact: two girls right and left, male in front -- that will be enough. Two girls centering on the contact another man in front. Seriously and intensively you must take notes in the lectures. The newcomer will be impressed with this, and say in his mind, "I had better write down certain things." So, under these circumstances, no conscientious young man can stand up and leave. Environmental factors block him right there. You have to show your reception and your attitude to the newcomer; you should be exceptionally well organized, so that this newcomer will have a wonderful first impression of you and that place. Before the lecture presentation, you have to sing a New Age song -- powerful, enthusiastic, spiritual song.

You have to be really piercing the four corners of darkness. Twenty people should sound like 1,000 singing voices -- not peacefully but powerfully -- you must sing and the impression will be mounting. You have to insert prayer before the lecture. When you do pray, you should really, seriously pray to God as you would talk to a real person, and refer in the prayer to the state of world sadness and political corruption, and seriously appeal with a real heart, and this student will be doubly impressed. The prayer may mean more than the lecture, and will have a great, powerful influence on the audience. The lecturer or preacher has to adjust himself powerfully to the environment supplied through the prayer. You must sing to the new person and treat him just like a real brother, and welcome him: "We are very glad to have you here." And when he goes back, give him a ride; even say good-bye in front of the van, and let him go back by your transportation. This person will feel he has never met such a kind group of people in the whole world. When these people go back to their homes, they will naturally talk about your group. They never have experienced you in the past; they will talk about you. All their family will be talking about you.

Suppose you contacted 50 people, and they went back that night, and talked to their families -- hundreds of people talking about you that night, about your lecture and your One World Crusade. And, naturally, parents will say, "Well, why don't you children investigate what they are doing?" They'll send them to you. So, you are working for eight hours; ten people go out into the street. He doesn't think it is impossible for you to bring ten students. He experimented in Japan and Korea; so he is experimenting now. It worked in New York City. Fifty people came. You have to adopt the same method for your mobile unit. In 60 minutes, 38 people contacted by one member. Thirty-eight persons contacted in 60 minutes -- and out of that you will have some. It works -- you better believe it works -- Master opened the door. You go and get them, it works. So, keep it in your mind. Then, on this basis, this technique, don't you think one person can bring one person per night? Do the One World Crusade mobile units understand? [Yes!]

Now, one lecture out of three by the State Representative, if you go there. Give him a chance then. At 4:30 give the chance to the European commanders; and at 7:30, a formal lecture, you have to take over, you have to do that by yourself. Otherwise, spiritually it doesn't fit, until you have multiplied your number. So, you send your troops downtown or to a college campus or whatever, and all the commanders should be prayerfully prepared for the climactic evening lecture. Then, the downtown people who are coming and going will have a chance; the downtown people who are shopping, whatever, might have a chance to listen to one of the three lectures -- and you go on for 12 days.

Now, whenever you have a State Representative and you have ten people -- similar operation as the One World Crusade operational system, do it -- you try to buy a van and raise funds for this. Now, Neil has succeeded in getting vans without a down payment, because he has built up credit. So, you just pay monthly payments, just like the One World Crusade. No bother to National Headquarters -- your payment of 150 dollars should be paid by the State Representative, because you have ten people -- self-governing. If you have ten people in your State Representative center you are self-supporting. Now, if you are in a small town: you go to the bus station or railroad station, or sometimes you go to the Sunday school, somewhere to a social activity meeting -- you look at the calendar and grab the people while they are loitering, get them into your van -- you may pick them up outside a theater. Sometimes you may have to change it, because of the customs where you live and the people. You can make a slight change in the schedule -- times can be flexible; but the main thing is that you have three lectures daily -- constantly blasting the message. That is important for your foundation. Also, he explained the cassette-tape approach. In other words, President Kim has already given permission to make outlines in English, not perfect -- you practice it in your own voice -- later, quickly, your cassette-tape approach -- and if you are not there your friend can listen and study everything. Okay? So, 40 minutes or an hour and a half, each chapter -- Principle of Creation, Fall of Man, Part II -- even if you are not there, they can listen to your voice. Then, after study -- already he has talked to you about these instructions. We are not going to repeat. That is a very powerful approach.

Now, the mobile unit within your State Representative region is the inner mobile unit and you are the external mobile unit. Church-style means that you have to have at least 20 members, and then you area church center, Unification Church Center. Then, when you increase and bring in good, strong members, you have to transfer these people to the main One World Crusade -- the regular mobile unit. This way, internally and externally, you are tuned together -- same joint strategy -- the mobile unit is there to help the State Representative. Now, the State Representative will be the commander within that setting (the center) and you have to do the same thing as the bus team -- organize your area. Also, this happens here in New York. You cannot do it full time morning and evening, so you will perform a similar function at night, when everybody comes back from work. It is preferable that you do this in the afternoon and evening, because of work, etc., but not exactly similar to the full time operation of the One World Crusade.

He has to talk about the real authority of the One World Crusade mobile unit. Now, the commander of the mobile unit has full authority in the place where he is staying for twelve days. Now, as soon as the Mobile Unit Commander leaves -- the State Representative re-assumes his normal function.

Good morning. My subject this morning is "The Path of Abel." We have been taught that Abel is the central figure in the providence of God. Abel is in the place of Adam, but Abel cannot tread on his road or path without the cooperation of others. And he must be equipped with certain conditions. The first thing is faith. The next thing he would want to have is an offering. On the foundation of faith he will make the offering and the offering represents his own life and his whole being. In the course of restoration, we always reach God through an offering. We can never make light of the offering, because it represents our faith, our life and our own being. The path for Abel is to reach God through the offering or beyond the offering.

In order to make offerings before God, we must become one with the offering so that it will signify that our own selves are the offering; but unless our mind and body become one, we cannot be a wholesome offering to God. Without our mind and body becoming one and being put together with the offering, we cannot reach God -- and the offering will not be acceptable to God. The offering not only represents oneself, but the whole world, because one's self represents the whole world. Well, the offering [to] the right is God and to the left is Satan. With you as the offering, the same thing is true: to your right is God and to your left is Satan. But you must remember, what we need is God, not Satan -- and we want to have our offering accepted by God, not by Satan.

Then what is an offering at all? An offering is a creation, is something created, created things. Then why do we have to put the things of Creation between God and ourselves? That means to place ourselves on the vertical line. Originally, without the human Fall, man was to dominate all things; but due to the human Fall, man is to reach God through the offering. That is, we have to bow down before the offering in order to reach God. In falling, the heavier thing would f all first or would be at the bottom. So, since the human Fall came about, due to sinful men heavy with evil and sin, then man's dominatorship was taken away and man is to bow down before all other things. If I were to go into details, it would take hours -- but I am going to make it simple, as simple as possible, so that it will take a short time. But you must know this thing to a certain extent because you are going to be leaders of other groups, and when you have questions from them, you must be able to answer them.

In other words, man is worse than all other things, as the Bible says. Our making the offering is to bring us back to the position from which we originally fell. In other words, we have to restore ourselves to the original station or status. So, I repeat: only through the offering can we reach God. We must remember that on both sides of ourselves and on both sides of the offering, there are God and Satan. With Satan added to me or clinging to me, can we make a good offering to God? [NO!] Therefore, we must be desperate to unite our mind and body into one to offer to God, because if those two are separated our flesh side is vulnerable to Satan; so in our desperate effort to make those into one, we will put it with the offering and go to God. Otherwise, there is no way for us to reach God, and our mind is in the position of Adam, while our flesh side is in the position of the archangel, and we have to have our fleshly side obey Adam, just as we have to make the archangel obey Adam. In that case, our fleshly side is in the position of the archangel restored to the original position without having anything to do with sin. So, Satan will be separated. Do you understand?

So, when you make offerings, if you are greedy and harsh and selfish, and if your think of the reward coming from the offering, that is nullified and the offering will not be accepted by God.

Self -centeredness and selfishness is prohibited there and if you have those elements, more Satanic power will take hold of you. With your mind and your body -- one in the position of Adam and the other in the position of the archangel -- put together, you can separate Satan, and you can become one with God, and Satan has nothing to do with you at that moment. Then, with yourself put together with the Creation, you restore your dominatorship over the Creation.

You must make this clear. When your mind and body become one that means that Adam and the archangel become one, and your wholeness will become one with the offering -- and then, that is a condition having nothing to do with sin or Satan; so in that case you have restored your dominatorship over the Creation, without the Satanic invasion there. In that situation you have restored yourself and you have restored the Creation and you have restored the dominatorship of Adam without the Fall, so you can be one with God.

To put it in order, by Adam and the archangel being separated from each other, man lost the dominatorship over the Creation. So, by Adam and the archangel, by the man in Adam's position and the other in the position of the archangel, becoming one -- mind in Adam's position and fleshly side in the archangel's position -- they become one and restore the dominatorship over all things. Do you understand that much? So, you must be very serious in making offerings. If you do it at random or make light of it, you will be punished. That is a grave question.

In any religion we see that they make offerings. In a cult religion or any low-level religions, in any of that type of religion, we find that they make offerings of some kind. When you make donations, contributions, alms to the church, it is a type of offering. In human society, we exchange gifts with other people; if you calculate something, some reward coming from them, that is not the way it should be. If the gift is going to add up to the common interest of the two, it will be all right; but if in giving the gifts, you have a self-centered idea, it is not the way it should be.

If you are giving the gift to that person as a reward for something you have already been given from him, that is very good. In utterance, too, when we say things for a selfish purpose, in order to make that person sacrifice himself f or the sake of yourself, that is no way for your tongue to be used. And, as I have told you on this, some time later I will give you an examination on that -- right after this speech. So you must remember.

I am not just saying ordinary things, but this is the measure by which to judge you. Without following Abel, you cannot go into the Kingdom of Heaven. This is absolutely necessary for you to know. Everything we see, everything we hear, everything we utter -- all those things must be in accordance with that law. For us fallen men, we must go to God by going through the offering-and by doing, ourselves being the offering.

So you must think of things, say things and act out things for the sake of others, at the sacrifice of your own self. In the path of faith, would you think we are in need of offering or not? In the Divine Principle, which you are learning now, you have learned about the Foundation of Faith. Then, what can decide on the Foundation of Faith? What? [To sacrifice ourselves!] The condition of sacrifice, yes. Without the Foundation of Faith there, we cannot have or enjoy the Foundation of Substance. But, it is not that after the Foundation of Faith is laid, then the Foundation of Substance will be on the top of that. But those two must come together -- must be created or produced together. With the Foundation of Faith, you will give the offering, and by giving the offering you, yourself, play the role of the offering and those two go together. Only by your mind and body becoming one as the wholesome sacrifice, then can you have another as such in Cain's position, with you in the position of Abel.

So, the person with his mind and body separated, without becoming one with each other, cannot be placed in Abel's position at all. So, by doing this, if and when you form the Foundation of Substance -- only then can you march forward to God. What does the offering decide on? [The Foundation of Faith] And what does the Foundation of Substance decide on? [The Foundation of Faith] The Foundation of Substance, or if you have restored the substantial foundation in yourself, you must be able to subjugate Cain, because you are in Abel's position. If you are to really restore yourself as the Foundation of Substance, you cannot do that all by yourself. Without Cain there you cannot restore the Foundation of Substance in yourself. That means, without being able to subjugate Cain, you have not really restored yourself.

At the time of the Fall, Adam lost faith in God and then lost the Foundation of Substance in himself, because he was not so created as to be simple. So, in the restoration course he must restore himself; and, at the same time, after having restored himself on the Foundation of Faith, he must be able to restore one in Cain's position. After having done all these, he can restore the love from God. At the time of the Fall, Adam lost his faith, lost his substantial being; that is, lost his original status. And then he lost love. All those three things he lost at the time of the Fall, and they must be restored. But, when do we locate or restore the love? Only when the Messiah comes! The Messiah being the source of love, you would want to receive that love; but without your having restored the substance in yourself, and without your having restored the faith, you cannot be entitled to that, to the love from him. With the Messiah as the mediator, or with your becoming one, you can enjoy the love from God and God himself will be yours. Is it clear to you? You must bear this in mind.

In the course of restoration, you must be able to restore your faith, your being as the substance, and the love; those three things must be restored. In order for you to be able to restore your faith, you must be able to unite your mind and body into one. Without this done, you cannot separate Satan from yourself. After restoring yourself by putting your mind and body into one, resembling God, you can really become one with the created things, as the offering which is intact from the sin from Satan, and then by putting yourself into oneness with the offering, you can be one with God. Your restored self is in the position of mind or Abel, and the created things are in the position of Cain or the external you; only when those two are put together can you really subjugate those in the position of Cain.

In restoring Cain, you cannot just subjugate him, but you must be able to pour out your energy, your love and everything to him and win his mind; then he will reach you through the offering. Well, in return, he would like to give you gifts -- or through some condition, he would like to join you and be put together with you -- you can be the whole offering to God and you are the qualified being. I n that case, Cain will inherit what you, as Abel, have already restored. I n that case, you and the person in Cain's position are something like Adam and the archangel restored. So, love from God will be the next thing, and with you in the position of Abel and that person in the position of Cain, put together -- only then are you entitled to minister to or to have the Messiah.

Due to the human Fall, we are born of the lineage of Satan, so we have to shift the lineage into that of the Messiah -- and in doing that, we have to be able to separate Satan first of all, and then become one with Cain; then we can go to the Messiah. Then, why do we need the Messiah as the mediator? We want to separate from the lineage of Satan and belong to the lineage of our True Parents. The Messiah is the one who is in the position of the True Parents; after having restored ourselves by subjugating Cain, we want to restore our life by being shifted to another lineage of purity, and we need the Messiah in that position as the True Parents, and we must be reborn out of him, in the bondage of love, Divine Love from him. It is sort of the reverse way to restore ourselves to the original position. Then, do we really need the Messiah? [YES!] You must know this clearly. You cannot need or have the Messiah all by yourself. You must be able to subjugate Cain and become one with him, and only after having done that can you reach him.

Due to the human Fall, we are divided into two. We are twos, each of us are twos. Due to the Fall, man is divided into two, and so by putting those two into one, only by our mind and body becoming one, can we be wholesome individuals. Without the human Fall, was there any Cain-type and Abel-type in ourselves? [NO!] Adam was whole as Adam and Eve was a wholesome woman, as an individual. But division came about in our own selves, so without putting those two into one we cannot be wholesome as individuals. But, even though you are one like that, between your mind and body, can you go to Heaven all by yourself? [NO!] Then, who can send you to Heaven -- Cain? Abel? Then, we can well say that Cain is the one who can send you to Heaven, because without subjugating Cain, without uniting yourself with Cain, you cannot go to Heaven. Well, in other words, we can even use an extreme expression, saying that Satan is the one who will send us to Heaven, because he must let us go; unless he is separated from us, unless he lets us go, we cannot go to Heaven. Isn't that true? [YES!]

Well, when you know this clearly, you may as well say, "Well, God is the greatest, but the second greatest is Cain." Without the cooperation of Cain, or the Cain-type element or the Cain-type group, you are not entitled to Heaven. So, this has been the obstacle, this has been the key to the Kingdom of God. Because of this, Jesus had to die. Because of this not having been done, our Master, our Father, has had to go through difficulties. He, in the position of Abel, knows all these theories; but the Cains are blind to the fact, and he has been so agonized for them.

This has been the formula and this still is the formula -- having to be a pride to the Providence -- and this Abel is anxious to get your cooperation and get you to become one with him, but you are so black and you are blind to the fact, and you are reluctant to become with him, always in slumber. You don't know the time, whether it is morning or evening. That is what makes him agonized all the way. Without applying the formula, no problem in human society will be solved -- but in the degree of your being attached to him, there is a vast difference from each other, there is a variety of degrees. You have your own Cain. Do you or don't you? Restored Cain? You are in absolute need of Cain, restored by your own hands. Don't you? [YES!] Then, the one in the position of Cain to you is worth more than your life -- you must know that if you are going to be given real life. Then, in what way and where can you subjugate Cain? Well, in relaxation in your own home, sleeping and eating as usual, can you do that? You must be able to restore Cain on the individual level, but in the end you must be able to subjugate Cains on the worldwide level -- and which would you prefer to do? [WORLDWIDE LEVEL!] The Messiah is the person who is here to subjugate Cains in the past, in the present and in the future. That is because he is the central figure of the whole history of mankind. If all the people of the world knew that the Messiah is such a person, would they believe in him or not?

So, theoretically and in Principle, all the people of the world are going to be united into one, and it will prove true. This is the secret, and this has been the secret between God and Satan -- and with this interwoven in human history, all entangled things came about, and we must solve or resolve or dissolve those things according to the formula. If the Christian people had understood that the offering has been so important, and that, in returning to God, we must be able to subjugate or get the cooperation of Cain, they could not have been corrupted like this. This is why we witness to the people; do you know all this clearly? Without this done, how can you restore the whole world? This is the only way, the only path for us to reach God. By restoring all the rest of the people, we will go back to God. Otherwise, we will remain in a position near Satan.

You have your clothing on, but you must always think that things are always in the position of the offering, including your flesh. In other words, your fleshly side is in the position of Cain to your mind as Abel. So, your fleshly side has something to do with Satan, connected with him. You must realize this fact. Isn't that true? But, there is the tape or channel going back and forth from your mind to God, from God to your mind. Well, only by your mind subjugating your fleshly side and becoming one with that is your clothing yours. Clothing, in that case, is not the mind or the body, but yours as a whole being. Then, your clothing has nothing to do with Satan, and will be wholly yours; and with that wholesome you, put together with Cain, by your subjugating Cain and getting cooperation from Cain, you can really be qualified to reach God.

Your table, radio, bed, television and everything else you have in your possession are the offerings. Everything in the position of Cain has something to do with your fleshly side. Well, in the worldly sense, your own physical parents, your brothers and sisters, your children, relatives, neighbors and friends -- those are all in Cain's position. But with your mind is associated your passed-away ancestors, or even your physical parents, friends, relatives, if they are on the side of good. Whenever you look at a thing in your possession, you must re-evaluate that: "Have I got this by deceiving other people, by some evil means?" If that is true, this is Satan and the Satanic invasion is already there. So, you must be horrified enough to throw it away; but otherwise, if you have obtained this thing through good means, righteous means, you may enjoy that as yours. If you know this, with this idea in mind, can you rob things from others? In that case you must know that you have robbed an explosive bomb from people and it will explode in you. Well, with that in mind, how can you enjoy that thing?

Any material things, any group of people, or any individuals -- when you are faced with them, you must be able to help them be united with you; otherwise they are always in the position of enemy, in the position of Cain or Satan. You, in the position of Adam or Abel, must be able to do that. You are not going to be dragged by them, but you are going to absorb them to your side. Well, until you have done this, you cannot, in the real sense, have your spouse. You are in need of your spouse, but only after you have perfected yourself like this. So, up to the present moment, in all religions, they have advocated celibacy, remaining single.

If, at all, there should be matrimony, it should have started right from Adam and Eve without the Fall. Is that true? Then, they could have become the True Parents. So, in this fallen world, too, until the True Parents should appear and get married in holy matrimony, no other marriages are recognized in God's sight. Of all the religions, we are the first group in the whole world in which the people have know this formula, known this theory, and the Master which wedded so many couples in accordance with that formula. We are the only group as such. Here there are some blessed couples, but I don't think they really understand what their blessing truly means.

You must know that you have been blessed on a "would be perfected" condition. So, in order for you to reach this condition, even though you may be separated from each other, you have to fulfill that which you have not been able to. That is Master's love for you: to separate you and send you out to the front-line. Without your having done this, if you would go about from place to place with couples like this, it's a thing of shame, not glory or blessing. It will not be wholesome in God's sight and even Satan will be scornful at you, will boo at you.

I have heard the I. W.'s (Itinerant Workers), the blessed women folks, complain about Master's having to prolong the term -- and they would say, "Well, Master promised us or told us to go out and work as an I. W. for one year, and one year has already passed and he won't let us live as husband and wife." But, have you kept the promise and have you fulfilled what you should have fulfilled, in one year? Have you? Have you? Then, what must I do with you? But, in the future, when you really understand this, you will reversely complain about Master's not having sent you out again. So I am teaching you clearly this Principle formula now. Do you understand clearly?

It is because Master knows all this that he is still going through the difficulty. Without that, would he choose to go through the difficulty until now, in order for him to shorten the period and in order for him to accomplish his mission and our mission for the restoration of the world? He is so busy-minded, agonized and impatient in everything.

With your mind and body put together and as a whole man, with you being able to subjugate Satan-Cain and absorb him to be united into one -- only with that done can you meet the Messiah and become one with him; and it is after all has been done that you can really be blessed in the holy matrimony. After the blessing, you must not think that all is finished or all is done. Well, after the blessing you are really one with the Messiah and if you are in the position of our Master would you not want to take care of the rest of the people, would you not want to restore the whole world back to God's bosom? On the shoulders of the blessed couples the restoration project is made. But your way is easier than his because he has paved the way, and he is still paving the way in your vanguard and you are just to follow him, you have just to follow his way or else. If he had not done this, without his having paved the way, you as individuals should have done that much, but now you have just to follow him as an example.

Master, as for him, he has had to obtain this much all by himself (diagram) without the cooperation of other people. He has had to restore himself on the individual level, on the family level (he has had to restore his family), and he has had to restore things on the clan level, tribal level, national level, worldwide level, and the macrocosmic level, including the spirit world. In every stage there was a battle, and after having won the battle he could obtain this height (individually). After having won the battle and making it a success on the family level, he could obtain this height; after having done that much on the next level, he obtained and gained this height, and so forth. God being infinite, if he could enjoy the infinite height, he could enjoy the magnitude of this power -- he is one with God here. And so, on the first stage, he was obtaining this height; on the second stage, this height; and so on, on all levels up to the macrocosmic level. He has obtained this height, you must know that. You must know that the person of the Messiah has had to go through untold difficulties, all by himself, separating himself from Satanic power. He had to fight against and win over the myriads of Satan -- and by his having done this, he attained the individual level of spiritual height, and then going to the next level and still next, he has done that with his own power. There has been no one around him to cooperate with him. Can you imagine that? Externally speaking, he may seem to be no more than you, no better than you may be -- but since he has done this much and he is recognized by God as having done this much, that's what makes you humbled before him and well, you don't know why, but you are sort of drawn to him and you want to bow down before him and you feel indebted to him. He is just like any ordinary man, externally, but there is something in him that is worth the whole world. That is why Satan is afraid of him.

The path of the Messiah is always the path of a pioneer. In restoring himself, too, he could not have restored himself by just putting his mind and body into one like this, but he would have to subjugate or absorb the individual in this position, at least three. And then he could obtain this much -- and going through the next level of things, he had to absorb or subjugate Cain, and that was more than what it was with this level, and then only could he make the next level of things possible, and be successful. Only by becoming one with Cain on a family level could he obtain this much -- and with this done, he could attain this height by becoming one with God; and starting at this point, he has had to subjugate those in Cain's position on the next level, and only by putting this together could he go up like this and please God and become one with God. After having done this much, he could start the next level, of course; and in doing that he could not go straight like this -- but only by subjugating Cain's position could he go up and become one with God and be recognized by God for his having done this much. By going up and up, the Cain level will be more difficult and become larger and larger like this. Do you understand? [YES!]

Then, without Cain, can you go up like that? [NO!] Only by your becoming one with Cain on this level, and after you have been recognized that you have done well with God, can you go up and become one with God and have His approval -- and then you may start the next level.

This point (diagram) is the point where God's purpose and Cain's purpose meet. Here we will meet God and be approved by God, and here the purposes of Abel and Cain meet -- and by God's approval here, the person in Abel's position can start the next level. This is a sort of offering to God, to be accepted by Him, approved by Him.

When you are blessed you are no more two, but you are two put together to be the offering before God and you must be a wholesome offering. If you are in the position of the offering, do you have your own will as such? If you insist on your having your own will or own interests, you cannot reach God, only having done this much. There are so many blessed couples in the Divine Principle movement. Put together it is sort of a tribe, Unification Tribe -- and if in that tribe, all the couples are separated like that, scattered like this, can they be a wholesome offering to God, can they reach God? No. So, in order for your to really be able to become one with the Messiah, one with our Master, you cannot have a will different from his. So you must be utterly obedient to him. By this Unification Tribe, this Unification Group, we are able to unite the whole world with our movement and become one. Well, first of all, the Democratic world -- we must get them to be united into one with us, and then the Communist world in the Cain position to be united with that, and then only with those put together can we really make a good offering, a wholesome offering to God.

Having known all this, can you still say, "We are Westerners," or "People of the western hemisphere don't have much in common with Oriental people"? "Master is an Oriental man -- it is his way and not ours." Can you say that? If you keep thinking that way, you are destined to ruin and you are not going to be saved, or going to be accomplished. Isn't that true? [YES!] Then, it is an immovable formula.

Many of you are situated here (diagram) and in the course of subjugating Satan-Cain, you become lax and think you are not going to lose what you gained here, but you are going to be in despair and become utterly powerless, and you will be too helpless to do anything. Then, not only are you nullifying this level, but what you have previously accomplished will be nullified. If you stop doing things from here and fall down to the bottom like this without remaining here; if you fall down below this level, not only what you have done at this level is nullified, but the whole thing which you have previously accomplished will be nullified. If you fall from here down to here, all the levels of things you have previously accomplished will be nullified.

On the individual level, if you subjugate Cain and become one with and are accepted or approved by God, then you in a way have separated from Satan, and Satan is temporarily, but not entirely, separated from you. He will lay in ambush here, on the next level, not here or down here. So, until you subjugate Cain and are accepted by God and become one with God, Satan will not be separated from you. After having been separated from you on the family level, he will go to the next level and wait for you, to defeat you. So, if you win this much, he will be waiting here, somewhere, so he will go to the next level and the next level. But, if you win over him, win over Cain, and when you and Cain together go and reach this level, then Satan will be really subjugated and nullified or diminished or ruined, like this. It is not until you have reached this point, that Satan will be really separated from you.

So, you blessed couples must not be relaxed like that, because you are blessed. If you really know the disposition and nature of Satan -- will he not be angry that he is defeated on the family level, and be ready to take vengeance against you and lay in ambush somewhere on your road to the next level -- so you must be more resolved and stronger and more zealous to fight against him and win over him. We must not be settled in one place like the Israelites or roaming about from place to place like gypsies. We must lead a life in tents, not in a house. We must not be housed and relaxed until we gain the goal. Even Master, when the 36 couples donated money, raised money to buy his house, he refused that, just living in the back of the church.

Until we have gained or laid the foundation on the national level, he is not going to do that; because if he does that before that time, it belongs to Satan, he knows. So, he himself is not settled yet. He is still a wanderer; he would leave his home to come to the United States for this fight, and he will visit from place to place to do this, with your aid, with your cooperation. Can you imagine: how difficult it would be for Master-, without being able to speak your language and being here to direct you, when he sees you are more or less reluctant in this or that -- and sometimes he will be faced with failure if you are not really cooperating with him, and he has to do it over and over again until the day he has gained here.

But we have accomplished more than Jesus accomplished in his day. The United States can be compared to the Roman Empire in Jesus' day -- Korea being in the position of Israel. But, in this age, the United States -- in the position of the Roman Empire -- is giving aid to Korea -- in the position of Israel -- and it is a great thing happening here. That is why the United States is in the position to benefit spiritually from the chosen nation.

On the worldwide level, the United States is the only nation which can really influence the Communist world. By 1974, we have got to carry out our responsibility -- and if by doing that, we can go beyond 1975, then our road will be really laid out. If you, in Abel's position, are not able to carry out your responsibility, then those who are in Cain's position will have the right to attack and defeat you -- that is possible. History proves that. When the chosen nation of the Israelites could not carry out their mission, God used the Gentile people to attack and defeat their nation, didn't He?

We are in the fight now, and in order to prevent that from happening, among us, and in order for us to do that, we must be mobilized in all our efforts to fight against the Satanic power on still broader and broader levels. We must invest our selves, our minds, our bodies and all our possessions to be used to subjugate Cain. This is something like investment -- and we will gain more out of the investment. Well, out of this investment we will gain the restoration of the people, win the people to our side. We are only a handful of people, and if we invest all the people focused on one thing, the profit will be great, I know; but since the time is due, and I know that I must cover the whole country of the United States in a certain period of time, that is why I am scattering al I of you to cover al I the states. The fight we are fighting here in the United States is the fight on the worldwide level, so we are really serious. If the Northern army is weakened, we must mobilize the Southern army to be used there, and if the Western army is weakened, then the Eastern one, the Eastern army must be mobilized to go and help the Western. We must have a good balance of power everywhere, so we are going to mobilize more members to organize more mobile teams; that is why we are going through the training course now. This is the final war, final fight here. You must be grateful that you joined in the battle on the worldwide level. You are situated here, for the Great Cause of mankind.

But, one thing is there, inherent in you. You are entitled to be, well not fully, but entitled to be the children of the True Parents; that is what makes it hard for Satan to grab you away in an instant. So, he will be hesitant to take you away. If you cling to the True Parents, you are still his children. What Master, what your True Parents have gained is yours; you are estimated by that, so that is why Satan cannot take you away at random. So, you must be grateful to your True Parents for that, too. Do you understand? [YES!]

In order for you to be able to inherit all that is already accomplished by Master, you must first of all become one with him -- and to what degree are you one with him? The more I rely on you, the more I expect out of you; I will put you through more difficult front-lines. In that case, are you grateful to him? [YES!] or reluctant? If you, right there, will win the war, you can enjoy all the spoils and all the gains, successes. Since I can trust-well, since President Kim is the most trusted person in Korea, I brought him here to you, to work for you, but sometimes he feels burdened or difficult. I know he doesn't say that outwardly, but he knows that inwardly he would say to himself, "I thought it would be a little easier here, but he is making it more difficult." But, if we know all this, well, as we reach God, nearer and nearer, our responsibility and our burden will be heavier. Isn't that natural?

In the United States, those old timers and especially those blessed members would think to themselves, "Oh, I have done this much already -- and without me, even Master cannot do anything," and those proud people, he has driven out to the battlefield, to the front-line. He would drive out Mr. Kim and Miss Kim to the front-line to travel on the mobile teams -- and if they failed to do that, he will have failed in his test. If you do that in reluctance you will have failed. To complain is of a Satanic nature. You must expect a battle more fierce and serious in the future. The more worthwhile the battle is, the more difficulty you must go through, and you must be grateful and proud of your being a warrior in this fight.

Do you know the reason for Master's having brought future leaders from the European nations, three from each nation? In the future, Master's plan is to drive out all the present leaders of those nations to the front-line, on the worldwide level. That is sort of a promotion -- to put them in a more difficult position. If they complain and say, "Well, I have done so much, well, why shouldn't I have a vacation; there is no leisure, nothing like that," and if they are reluctant to go out in the front-line on the wider level of things, they will have failed in the test. I hate the idea of their having to complain before me, who am a victor, after having gone through so much difficulty and am still fighting. Because, I know what it is, because I have had the same experience -- and you are going an easier way, after I have paved the way. So, from now on, at the conference or at a meeting, I will watch you, how you respond.

You may say, "'Well, we have to apply the Democratic method, this is a Democratic world." But Satan is wise enough to know how to apply the Democratic form in corrupting the people. Since there is Satan all around us, if I am to announce my strategy before the world, will Satan let it alone? That is why, in the Bible, God would not reveal all that He has in mind. Those who are entitled to know that, He let know.

You can complain only when you are more than Master, when you know what he has in mind, and you can do what he can do; but otherwise, you keep quiet, keep silent and just obey me. That is the only way left for you. If you are in a position such that I must consult with you over any matter, why wouldn't I do that? I long to have such a person -- I would sit up the whole night talking with him; but since you are not in this position quite yet, I will just give you orders. I have tested, I have tried to listen to your advice or proposals, but I have failed to find them more than mine or more than God's. So sometimes I have to ignore those things.

We have to go beyond the obstacles, by leaps and bounds; but whenever you are faced with war before you or an obstacle, you would complain and you would become discouraged. Then, how can I be sympathetic with you on the individual basis, in this final fight?

The human Fall came about through envy and complaints, so we must go beyond complaint. Do you really understand what is Abel's path, the path of Abel? If and when you as Abel complain, can you make Cain one with you? No. Then our conclusion is that unless you, in Abel's position, should play the role of the offering or sacrifice, you cannot save or absorb those in Cain's position. The offerings on the altar have no complaints; and that is to be divided into two, and you are the living sacrifice before God; and as in the case of Isaac, if Isaac at that time were disobedient and had objected to his father and said, "Oh, father," and had condemned his father and not let him cut him in two, would he or could he have become a wholesome offering to God? The lamb is the gentlest animal. If the Master were to pierce a sword into his neck, he would just baa and die. That is the gentlest animal, knowing no objection, no resistance. Time is nearing, but I must say this to you ...

Master, I, who am over 50, am here to fight for the whole world against Satan. But, you are fighting for your own nation for the time being. In this case, can you complain in your battlefield? [NO!] Those brothers and sisters of yours from the European nations are here, too -- from England, from Germany, from France, from Austria, from Italy and elsewhere. Then you, too, when you came from your nation, wanted to fight here because your nation will be endangered if the fight against Satan and the Communist power here is lost. But Master is here from an Asiatic nation; what have I to do with you in the worldly sense? But, I am so very eager and enthusiastic to fight this battle and make this battle a victory, because I know all these things. While we are here, the people of the United States, the members of the United States are in the position of Abel; so you must not be defeated by the European brothers, and with you and the European brothers together you must not be defeated by the Asiatic brothers. You will never be, or you don't want to be defeated by the Japanese brothers. In other words, Japan -- in light of the Providence centered on the United States -- is in the position of the formation stage, representing the formation stage; you from the nations of Europe are in the position of the growth stage; and you (U.S.) are in the position of the perfection stage -- and you can not be defeated by those two. Then, the European brothers should not be defeated by the Japanese brothers, and the brothers and sisters in the United States should not be defeated by the Europeans or by the Japanese. You are the host, in a word, and they are the guests; and in going through fasts, too, you must do more than they do; in going through difficulties, you must choose to go through more difficulties than they do. Am I right in saying that? [YES!]

That means, I am going to put you American members into more difficulty. Are you ready for this? [YES!] I am sure some will say, "Oh, back in Korea, I understand all the blessed women came back to their homes -- and why not for us?" What would you do? Blessed women, they have been out in the front-line for three years and they are now back.

I have my own children, too. Now I am in the battlefield, and I miss my children; they are in difficulty. They are at times sick and troubled, and all those things are happening. During my ... well, up until my second visit to the United States, and [my second] World Tour, I had written them as often as once a week, but then this time, I am not writing them at all. They would write him many letters, but Master wouldn't answer their letters. There is a reason for his not doing that and for his being that way -- he means to be more faithful to the Great Cause. A little longer, and you can live with your own child; but, as time goes by with Master, can you imagine ... if he is going to visit so many nations where he has his missionaries, even if he can, he may spend one month in each place; he can never spend a good portion of time with his children. He has to travel from place to place, visiting you. [Master] I am so fond of children, and I know, more than anyone else, I must love and embrace late President Eu's children, but I have never done that. There is a reason for that. Well, when I travel, I miss them, and when I go back I will buy gifts for them, but in Korea, I seldom do that. You don't know the reason for that. I am doing things in accordance with the Divine Principle and the way God would have me do them. As for late President Eu's children, I will leave them in the hands of the members -- and only after the members love those children as they would their own children, can I love them and express my love toward them. Everything is done in a more-or-less reverse way. You don't know how you can go through the path of restoration, so it is wise for you to obey me. You must know that in Korea, too, even the blessed members would either complain or would not quite be willing to obey Master -- and they have their own opinions, and they think, "Well, it is too early for Master to do that, or it is too much for Master to have us do that." But, after a while, it -- his plan -- proved true, and they were humbled and they have no face to lift before him. Do you understand that, what I mean? [YES!]

Unless I have gone through all those difficulties, I cannot tell you to do this. I have experienced that, I have done my part, and I am still doing that. That is why I can tell you to do this; and for me, I have always thought that to complain to God, who is the most agonized, is somehow to betray Him. So, I have thought that to complain ... instead of complaining before Him, I would rather choose to die. Because, by complaining, I am betraying Him -- I am bloating the agonized heart. He would talk to himself and tell himself, "If you are going to complain against God, you must kill yourself." It is because, by complaining, by being envious, man fell in the beginning; and I hate the idea of even having a shade of complaint or envy. If I'm in that position, wouldn't you do the same?

Since you are blind to the fact, and you don't understand God's heart, God would have me tell you, teach you, until you know and understand God's heart. Those in the front-line, while they are in the battlefield, how can they complain? If they complain, the fight will be a defeat. Those who complain are apt to multiply that complaint; but if that person keeps on complaining, he will be isolated from the rest of the movement and be abandoned by God. You must be afraid of that. Diane, I understand your heart. I know what motherly love is; I know what parental love toward children is, more than you do. But, do you understand God's heart, who is missing His lost children? Your child is not lost -- he is sane and wholesome, in your own home. You can see him at least from time to time, but God has lost His children and they are destined to Hell, and a great number of people are groaning in hell, in darkness, and even though He would cry out to save the lost children, agonized in Hell, He cannot reach out to the people, except through you. Do you understand? By your going through this experience, yourself, alone, you can understand God's heart all the more; and if with that mood, that kind of readiness in your mind, if you would shout to the people while you miss your child, all the more will you miss those people who are being destroyed. Then, you will be a forceful, convincing speaker, and you will bring peace to the hearts of the people.

In time of difficulty, I did not beg God to help me, but I comforted God's heart, because I knew that God was already there, agonized and worrying about me. So, I would comfort God and tell Him not to worry about me -- and in the face of betrayal by one whom I had trusted for so long, then I would immediately think of God's heart, after the betrayal of the archangel and His own child, Adam. And, I can comfort myself and I can even comfort God's heart, and I am revitalized and recruit my strength to go ahead. In that case, with more love than I have, God is more agonized [than I am] over the fact; so I am not even in a position to be consoled or comforted by Him, but I am in a position to have to comfort His heart. Since I knew that God was already in more agony than myself, and He was more worried about things than myself, 1, even in imprisonment, would console God and comfort Him and tell Him not to worry about me. I did not dream of getting comfort from Him. I know this is not a problem with just one person here, but is everyone's question and problem. When I send out members to the frontline, putting them in charge of branch churches or over any village, then some would send letters to comfort him whenever he is faced with difficulty there. Because, by the same experience, he knows Master's heart, he knows God's heart, so he would think, "If I am agonized with this much difficulty, how much more agonized must Master's heart be at this moment, to take charge of the whole world." And that is their attitude. And, with some other people, on the contrary, they are making His heart more agonized and He has to worry about them. For one who is grateful in the face of difficulty would feel like comforting Master's heart, even in the difficulty, because he knows that Master is going through more difficulties if he is agonized with that small amount of difficulty. And then, if he is in that difficulty, God is already there, preparing and providing him with more means, paving the way and fighting for him and with him. If-, on the contrary, you are sinking down and down into darkness...but for those people, you know, even the spirit world will be helping them; and in advance, the spirit world will reach out to the people and prepare those people for you to work with. And, when you visit the people, they will have seen you in a dream and have been told in a vision that you are coming. So, you can easily reach out to the people. Well, even in the world, Satanic world, if you are sacrificial and if you wouldn't care much about your own children and take care of all those children, would they not try to help your own children and love your children all the more? And, your children are going to be loved by more people, including yourself. So, on the path of Abel, there is no such thing as complaint, nor dissatisfaction, nor discontent. Because you are rewarded with more. There is only gratitude left, glorification. Are you that way? [YES!]

What I am telling you is the truth, you must know that -- and I have gone through the experience and my talk is based on my own experience. I love you dearly. Since I love you dearly, I don't want to put you in difficulty. But I am doing this, I am putting you in difficulty, because I want you to inherit the whole world. I want you to inherit the whole spirit world, Without your having set up even a small condition, you cannot inherit the future world. Even in the Satanic world, the veterans who fought in World War II are respected and taken care of by the government and the people. Even if a person, a soldier on the way to the battlefield, were aboard a ship and were killed right there...well, if he did not look backward, thinking of his own home, but were headed for the battlefield, ready to fight, then he, even though he may have to die on the ship, going to the battlefield, would already be a victor. He is respected and cared for by the people. Do you understand that?

I don't expect you to do things in the best way, or to do the amount of work I have done -- but I want your zeal, enthusiasm and loyalty to this cause. Would you reject that? [NO!] So, what you are to do is to be grateful to God. Your way is already paved by Master and you have only a short way to go, and after having gone through all those things, you will inherit what I have accomplished.

People blind to all this truth will be scornful of us, calling us foolish, because all the people in the world have not been able to realize the brotherhood of mankind and the establishment of the Kingdom of Heaven -- [and we are] but a handful of people. But, knowing what God's formula is and what God's cause is, in knowing that God is working through us and with us; we set out in search of the lost Kingdom, and we are going to build or erect the Kingdom of God, Heaven on earth. You don't know in what way I am praying before God at Belvedere. I am not going to be indebted to you in any way. God knows you are becoming indebted to me. If I am going to be indebted to you, I cannot make this movement a success. This movement will be diminished, will become meager, if I do that. You don't really know what kind of person I am. I am a furiously impatient person in a way. In my boyhood, I could not bear the idea of being called names by anyone else. If I were beaten, I would not stay still. I would never be defeated by anyone else. There are many extreme dispositions in me and I am quite versatile. I am capable in many ways: in the athletic field, in the scientific field, in every walk of life. I could have become a success. I am not of dull brain. But, in the fight against Satan, can you imagine how many times I have been faced with such difficulty that I could not bear any more? During torture by Satan, in the scorn before him, how could I bear up in the face of those things? But I could persevere, because God is more agonized in the face of those difficulties, before me. I knew God is a jealous god in a way; God is a god of wrath. He cannot tolerate al I the injustice and unrighteousness; but if He were to exercise His wrath and Justice, there would not be one single person left on earth. But He is anxious to restore the whole world; and He has had to persevere for such a long period of human history.

When I was so angry, so furious that I would want to take revenge against someone, I would bite my tongue until it bled, and think back in my mind of what God has gone through in the face of such difficulties. So, I would feel like forgiving the person. And, after going through so much difficulty at one time, when the next difficulty would come, which was more than the previous one, I would say to myself, "I cannot stain what I have already accomplished; when I persevere and go beyond this obstacle, this difficulty, I will have won the victory for God -- and I can persevere, I can bear this difficulty." I would do this for the Great Cause; and since I have done this much myself, you are respecting me, you are ready to follow me, you want to be given orders by me and you will be obedient to me. And, what else, other than me, could make you do that?

I have so many regrets, resentment, stored away in my innermost self, and there will come the time when God will tell me to take vengeance, to burst out my wrath and everything I have stored up within myself. I don't want to hasten the day, I don't want to have the day hastened, but I persevere more and more, and want to have it prolonged until the end. The more I become like that, the more God will be on my side, already taking vengeance for me. My vengeance will be taken out in such a way: to love the people and absorb the people, defeat the people in that way -- and if there be any God, I think that He has got to love me. If God does not love me, then there is no God -- that is my thought. This is my path and this is the path of Abel. Well, from the start, you must not have the attitude of going the road or doing things for your own sake, but for the sake of those in Cain's position, for the sake of the whole world, for the sake of God. And then, at the goal, when you have reached it, you will enjoy everything you have accomplished.

One thing more, I must add: if anyone is entitled to complain, I am the first one. I came to the world to carry out my mission, to be the True Parent to mankind. I came for that mission, but I had to accomplish all left unaccomplished by my predecessor -- so I am still going through the path of Abel, in order to show you how to go this path. When you think of that, you must feel indebted to me and you cannot lift your face before me. You must be really humbled. You must be ashamed before him, saying to yourself, "Oh, Master, you should enjoy your rights; you have gone through too much difficulty for us and how and what on earth can make you go through more difficulties?" And you must pray to God, not to let him go through the difficulty any more. I am going through this difficult path in silence, without complaining. I am not liable for that. I don't have to do that; still, I do this as an example to you. I am going this road in silence; but in the end, at the Judgment Seat, God will say something against you if you don't obey me. If you have not done your responsibility ... at that time, before God, you will be ashamed. So, in order for me to keep you from shame, I am driving you out this hard. And I want you to know clearly what the path of Abel is, and I want you to dash forward on that road without hesitancy, and of your own accord, so that you will be praised by God, and you will be able to glorify Him in the end -- and I want you to be a victor in the end.

The Lord of the Second Advent, the Messiah, is the completion of Adam, the Second Adam or the resurrection of Adam-and he is the resurrection and also the totalization of Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jacob and Jesus. He is the resurrection and totalization of those. He is the completion or success of those put together. He is going to restore their failure himself. If you really know that and understand that, you must be wise enough to cling to him and become one with him, and his will be yours and you will inherit all the things accomplished by him. Do you really understand that? [YES!]

I am the Abel to you and you are the Abel to the United States and the United States is the Abel to the Democratic world and the whole Democratic world put together will be in the position of Abel to the Communist world. And with the whole world restored, the earth plane is in the position of Abel and the spirit world is in the position of Cain -- and we can subjugate the world of Cain. And, with those tools put together, God will be liberated, regain His dominatorship. So, those who are in Abel's position are God's sons and daughters of filial piety, loyal subjects to God, sages who are saviors to the whole world. And that is the path of Abel and that is what Abel is.

Good morning. My subject this morning is "The Original I, -- original ego. When I say "the original I" it means what we are now, as opposed to what we used to be or what we originally should have been.

Then, we must set the standard on a certain person and say, "I must be like that person." We must have one standard like that. Some of you may think that your parents are the best persons in the whole world and you say to yourself that you must be like your parents. A little later you can find someone far better than your own parents and you think that you should follow the example of that person. As you grow older, you may have to leave your village, leave your town, and get into a bigger society -- and you may find a very good person and you may set the standard on that person, saying that you have to be like that person. After a short while again, you will be disillusioned with that man and you will find another man still better than him, and you will say to yourself, "I must set the standard on that man because he is a patriot, he will be recognized by past history, present and by the later generations, too . And then you get to know a person known not only in your own country but by the people of the whole world, and you set the standard on him, thinking that you have to limit yourself to that standard. But you will soon find that person, that very best one whose standard will be passed by God, and then you will be looking for another one. So, in a word, you are looking for the very best one who will unchangeably be the standard.

Having looked around at the people of the whole world, you come to the conclusion that there is no such person, not a single one in the whole world on whom you can really rely. Neither in the Democratic nor the Communist worlds can you find such a one. In past history, people worshipped and respected Confucius, Buddha, Jesus. Our conclusion is that, externally speaking, however hard you try to find such a person, you cannot find one in the whole world. After trying to find such a person in the world other than yourself, then you come to think that you had better find the perfect person in yourself. Then, where does our journey start to find such a one?

We know that in ourselves, there is internal self as well as external self. When you are said to be a person without conscience, you are angry. Since you can recognize your being, your existence, you cannot deny your conscience, inherent in yourself. Before you, you have the whole world at which you can look -- but to look into yourself, where are you situated and what is there in yourself?

When we say our original self, it means that what we are is different from what we used to be. I am here, from somewhere else and that is the source of myself or origin of myself. Then which will be more distant, which would be farther to reach out to the whole world, or to reach back to that personage of yours? But the difference and width in comparison, there will be a vast difference between those two. And which is greater? And if you find it greater to find your own self, which you somehow lost in the beginning, then you have to leave all other things in search of that self of yours. This being of higher value, higher dimension, more original, and closer to the source -- you have to discard all the rest to find this original self of yours.

Would you not leave all the rest, when you find a person or a thing which is best of all? When you look into yourself, when you look back at yourself, you find that in yourself there is a thing of vast value which is something like the source, the origin, God. The farther you reach out, the more mystery you will be faced with. Well, even though you try to reach out into the world, in its extremity you will meet the source of life there; you are faced with that problem. After going through things visible, you will reach things invisible.

To reach out externally, you will be faced with the question , What is going to be my future; what will the future of the whole world be like?" -- and then going back, you question yourself, "What was the origin of our life in the beginning?" Then, toward the future, we would like to predict things, foretell what is coming; and in the present, when we look back, we want to know the origin of our life, we want to search for God.

When we, in everyday life, take delight in finding God there and finding our future in the way of a good prediction, then we can throw away all those things that are left, occurring in our everyday life. Well, the present moment is always important, but unless we solve the problem for those two things -- God and our future, our destination -- we cannot quite take delight in our everyday life. We are at the crossing junction, and we don't know what happened in the beginning or what will be happening in the future. Then, in which would you take most delight or of which would you think most highly: past, present or future? You say "future," but can any future come about without the present moment, and can the present moment not be the crops or fruit of the past?

Then which must be the most valuable? Which must be the wisest one? The one which is trying to find value in the past, in the present, or in the future? When we think that the beginning is the origin and the future is the destination, well, how can you put more value in the present? Unless we solve this problem, we cannot think of our present moments as valuable, and we will think, "Well, what is our life at all? I don't want to live and I don't like this to happen, and I don't like that to happen," and you will be disillusioned with your own life. Isn't that true? Then, what on earth is our original self? Well, both in the past and in the present, there are many people there, there have been many people there, so on whom are we going to set the standard? There has been male and female, old and young. If you put more stress on the male being, the female being will feel disillusioned; if you are going to put more stress on the female being, the male being will be disillusioned. If you are going to put more stress on the older people, the younger people will be disillusioned, and vice-versa. And if you put more stress on the past, what is the future at all? If you are going to put more stress on the future, well, then does our past have no value? You come to even greater vagueness and disillusionment.

With your original self found, you should be able to know clearly, what is the origin and what is the past, present and future of human life. Don't you think so? Then, in human terminology, what should it be, or how can you define that? We must say that the beginning and the end must be equal, the same, and our life should be eternal. When we think a certain person is a bad person, well, we must be able to know his past and find out that he used to be -- he has once been -- a good man. And if you find a good person and see that that person will never change, but will be eternally good, you will cherish that person, treasure that one. People came to be evil because they changed in the beginning. So, if you find a good person and you think that he will never change, you will say that man is really a good man. So, things never change from the original, as defined by God to be good. We can trust, we can believe in unchangeable things. We cannot trust changing things. (He only said the first part, and he thinks I am going ahead of him ... saying all the rest of the things.) We say things about belief or disbelief, but belief is in something unchanging and disbelief is in something changing. We can decide on what is evil and what is good from that.

Then, what is our original self? That must have been something unchanging -- therefore, something believable, something of value, something good and right, something of existence. That must be the truest thing and the truest thing will never change. We think that gold is precious -- what makes it precious? Gold is precious because nothing can vanish its glow and it will never change from the original color. A diamond is the most precious stone, because it is shining and it is the hardest stone in the whole world; nothing can excel its hardness. It is harder than anything else, so we can set the standard of hardness on that stone alone, nothing else. Then, what is one's original self? That is the source of one's self, being unchanging, and being the standard of one's self, through eternity. If our original self is such, then where can we find our self? After having found out our own self like that, it can never change and no one can invade there. If that is eternal, unchanging and unique, nothing or no one can invade there and we must be sure of that. There can be no such thing as a Fall there. Is that true? [YES!]

Then, when we find ourselves having fallen, then we can realize that we are far from our original self. Then, in what manner can we define our original self? Again, I must say, our original self must be unchanging. It must be true, it must be unique, it must be eternal. Being unchangeable, it won't vacillate, it won't sway, and it is going to keep the original condition, all the way through. If that kind of person is found, every other person will treasure that person and will try to be like that person. When you evaluate anything, well, if you find that thing is unchanging and has eternal value, you want to have that, more than that ... if you know that this thing is the only thing in the whole world, you will want to possess it. And, if you find that this thing will never change through eternity, you will cherish this thing even more. And, if you find that this thing is the standard of everything else and a measure for everything else, so you can measure other things according to this standard, you will take more delight in this thing. If there is anything like this, then you can safely define that this is the original thing or source thing. Don't you think so? [YES!]

Your own eyes would be anxious to see such a person. If your eyes had minds they would be anxious to see that kind of a person most of all. Your nose would take delight in smelling that person, your hands would like to touch that person, your ears would like to hear his voice, the voice of that person. But, is there any such person, any such thing at all in the whole world? [YES!]

I have so long been in search of that kind of person, that kind of thing, but I have never met one yet. [Laughter] Then, what shall we do? Well, if you cannot find such a person in the present world, we have to go back in search of that person. We can well imagine from what we now have in the present moment that in the future we can never find such a person, so we must turn back and on the way back we are going to search for the original type of person. We cannot find that value in our own selves at the present moment. So, we must set out in search of our own self, our original self. From the fact that we are somehow in search of something, we can imagine, we can gather, that we have lost something and there must be something in the origin that we individually lost -- and so that motivates us, that is motivating us to set out in search of something lost there. From this point of view, even in hypothesizing, we must define that there is some one, ultimate being in the beginning. If and when we say there isn't someone in our hypothesizing, even in hypothesizing we want to have that being in reality, and if there is such a being as God, in reality, what would you do? We are not only imagining or fancying God to be there, but God is there in reality -- and then you will be ready to throw away all the rest of the things in search of God, would you not do that? If you are told that by believing in God alone you can meet Him, then you will do that. When you are told that God is unchanging, and you want to resemble Him, and only when you are an unchanging person can you meet God (or that person), and you want to become an unchanging person; and if you are told that you can meet that person only by doing righteous things according to that ultimate standard, you will try desperately to do that. If you can imagine that there be such a being, and you can put everything of value there, and you can imagine that he is the truest one, the most loving one, unchangeable one, unique one and eternal one; and you want to be like that; and without resembling him, you cannot find him, then, you are desperate to bring yourself to that standard. You are safe and sure that if you become like that, you can meet the subjective being, because you are in his image, you want to resemble him. By your being that, he's forced, destined, to like you, to love you. Well, if you have the experience of having children, wouldn't you love the children when they resemble you in many ways? Even externally, if one of your children resembles you more, then he loves you more than any others would. Then, wouldn't you love him all the more?

Well, walking on the street, if you meet someone resembling one of your neighbors who has been so kind to you, your attention is immediately focused on that person, isn't that true? If the person you meet with on the street resembles very much your beloved one, you wouldn't want to let him go, you would follow him and look at him from the back, from the side, from the front. If that person resembles you, you find that person is just a copy of yourself, what would you do? You feel immediately close to him. You would want to walk with that person, you would want to bring that person into a restaurant to eat, and you would want to chat with him, sleep with him, live with him. And, later on, if you find that person to be like you in his way of thinking, way of saying things, way of acting out things, you feel even closer to him. If you find that person likes you better than you do him, you will love him. Then you are going to be a slave to him in love, and you will do whatever you are told to do by him. Isn't that true? [YES!]

If that is true with you, even in the worldly sense, if there be such an ultimate absolute being as such, all the rest of the problems will be solved. Then, to be united with him, to become one with him, is to resemble him; and second, after having resembled him, you two will like each other. Love comes next, he says. Then love will be there, even though you may say you don't like that. Love will automatically be there, even though you say you don't like that. Isn't that true? If there be any such existence, such being, such ultimate one, he would cry out to you, "Resemble me, resemble myself." He will cry out to you, "Be unchangeable, be eternal, be unique. And after resembling me, don't stay there like a stone, come closer to me and love me." Isn't that true? Exactly? [YES!]

Then, it is clear to you what our original self must be like. Isn't that true? Then, try to compare yourself to that standard: in how many ways or how many points are you on that standard? We have five senses. Do your eyes long to see that kind of person, that kind of being? Do your nostrils want to smell him? Would your mouth want to speak to that person? Would your ears be attentive to hear his voice? [YES!]

If you find that kind of person in human society, would you cling to him or would you let him go? If the whole world pushes him away, what would you do? Would you cling to him? [YES!] Without letting him go? You know better than I do. Would you be like him, then? [YES!]

You must see things according to that standard, according to that man. You must smell things according to that standard. You must not be thinking of anything else, saying anything else -- but acting out things, those kinds of things alone, nothing else, through eternity. That is our goal. Once I believe in something, I want to believe in something eternal. You must set your standard on that level and you can pour out your whole energy, your whole being. Have you been thinking of that? Only after having heard him, you say, "Oh, he is right, I must do that." From that viewpoint, well, your faith in something has been ephemeral and false. You must first be able to find your original self. So, you must deny your present self. You must hate your present self, you must be ready to discard what you are now. If you really understand and realize that your present self is not what you used to be-not your original self -- would you be unwilling to throw away your self, deny your self? After joining this movement, your old boyfriend or girlfriend would cling to you -- and as soon as you find something more valuable here, something eternal and unchanging and unique here, well, you will feel no agony in discarding that person. Would that be any problem to you at all? Really, no? [NO!]

Then, you are better than myself. There is no more to be said. [ Laughter] If and when we restore our original self like that, we can cry out to the whole world: "Here am 1, capital I! " Wouldn't you long to have that "I" restored in your self? Have you ever stopped to imagine "How wonderful that 'I' must be after I have restored those elements in myself"? After having restored that self of ours, our five senses will want to dance in the sensation, and our eyes will see what we have not been able to see. Our ears will be able to hear what we have not been able to hear. Clairvoyance and clairaudience will be developed more than radio or television. And, if there is love added to that, well the world will be bright and will be yours, will come under your position. Then, the whole world will come in harmony with our five senses. And in that world we are going to be the subjects.

Well, we have another subject, God, but we can say that "God is in me, God is abiding in me, I am the ultimate subject of the whole world." In that case, even though you may want to throw away God, He will cling to you. He would want to live in you. God will hate to leave you. Can you imagine that kind of self, the original self of yours? If there is the possibility of restoring yourself like that, would you not throw away all the rest of the things, and try to find your own self, like that? Would you try to find yourself like that? [YES!]

I am confident in saying that there is such a self of yours. You can find it out and you can restore that. I want you to certainly believe in what I am saying now -- and why don't you set out in search of yourself? Well, would you make speedy effort for that, like the astronaut in the rocket reaching the moon -- Apollo 11 ? Would you be like that man? Would you like to reach that place in a minute, or by taking so many hours and so many days? Well, get ready to start and with full speed ahead -- if there be a God, you will hit against Him until He will be broken to pieces.

If you set the goal and try to reach it at full speed, then He will never dodge out of the way. If you were God, would you stop that person and cry out, "Don't come to me"? Would you say that? Well, you are in the baseball game and there comes the balk-In hitting that ball would you do this or this? When you catch the ball, too, you don't do this, but like this. In receiving anything good, you try to turn about or try to make circular motion. God will do the same. When He receives you, He will hug you and try to turn around. In turning around, if you turn at the full speed, you will either go up or come down. [I don't understand, so how can I interpret? -- Mrs. Choi] Well, He will either welcome you or you will hit against Him all of a sudden and He will be delighted or be in fear of you ; and at that moment, He will whirl around and you will either go up or come down, in the motion of the whirl. But, can you imagine that He will be in fear of you? Either this or that happens, but He will welcome you. He will be intoxicated in joy and this alone will make God hilarious. If you like or love a person, would you embrace him or throw him away? You want to squeeze that person until he falls to pieces and you wouldn't stay still but you would turn around in the motion of dancing. If you can make God like that, how wonderful it would be. If there is a God, and if I can make God like that, in meeting Him, and it can be done only after my having resembled Him -- well, I will do this more than anything else. And you set out on a journey to find the self which resembles God, your original self; and in that case you can move God, and God would cling to you and wouldn't let you go, and you wouldn't let Him go -- and if that is possible, how wonderful it is going to be, and I want you, in deep belief, to set out on a journey for that, to find yourself. In that case, you are the real son of God, and even though you may say to him, "I am better than you, Father," He will be delighted.

The original nature of the human being is to attain that standard, and you can never deny that you are so greedy as to want to be that. Well, some of you may think, "Oh, Master is a man of imagination, a man of hallucination, or something like that." Well, even though it may be imagination, it is true according to the theory. If it is logical, why don't you try that? It will come true, if it is logical. If it is theoretical and theoretically logical, you can make it true. Don't you see that? [YES!]

Well, a strange thing is happening here. This man, Mr. Moon, well, shorter in height maybe than some of you, many of you here, and he is just an Oriental man, not more so-and-so than other people. But, anyone, if he has a clear conscience, is drawn to him, attracted to him; people from the East and from the West, old and young, they like him -- and if some are specially attuned, they know, they can see, that the whole spirit world, all spirit beings, you know, are affected by him and they minister to him, and they are anxious to follow him wherever he goes. Are you that way? [YES!] Even though you may not be that way, I am not worried about that. Because, sooner or later, you will be that, I know.

There is something strange, which you cannot quite define in him -- and so you want to follow him, you are drawn to him. True or not, even though that may not be true with him, if you find him in your vanguard, anxiously in search of God, and he has the capability of reaching that goal, would you not follow him? [YES!] He will cry out to you, but his shouting will be different from the battle cry. He will shout in glorious joy, and joy will be there quite clear -- at the point of the goal, and you will dash, you will be ready to dash to the goal, If, at the goal you are sure you can meet that kind of reality, won't you try to go there at full speed -- and you will think it will not be enough? At the cost of everything, you will want to be able to locate that reality, and if you meet him there, you will be glad that you have discarded everything else, won't you? [YES!]

If you think of that, if you can imagine that, and if your imagination is so strong as to deny all the rest of the things, you can make it a reality. Only by finding our original self can we reach that point, and only by resembling God can we meet Him; so if we know this fact, we will be desperate to obtain that goal. We cannot but be desperate in our efforts. You must be doing this at the cost of your own life. Unless you are ready to find this, to try to find this at the cost of your own life, you cannot find your life there, new life. In making a trade, if there is a person who is so stingy as not to be willing to invest the money: "This is all the money I have and I have gone through such difficulty in making this money, how can I let it out? I am not willing to invest this money." And, you want to keep this money -- how can you earn more money by making the trade? Well, if you are sure that you can progress after having done this, having restored yourself, having met and possessed God; and if you know what will happen after that, aren't you willing to use up everything you have, throw away or invest everything you have, including your own self? In running in a circular motion, would you not rather make the global action, and then if you turn or run at the full speed like this, surrounding the whole world, then there is no place else to come to the nuclear point. If you turn at full speed, like this, you finally come to the nuclear point, central point, in global motion, and set yourself on the axis, where you can turn the whole world. Which would you rather be? To turn the whole world ' to run encircling the whole world? And to do this through eternity, would you like to do that? [YES!] Then, go out and do that -- I will watch you. After having done that, you will not have done that in vain. You will find that -- and I am sure you will be glad you have done that. This is my conclusion.

You are now here. With this place as the center, you have four directions: east, west, south and north. You are from the Netherlands, France, England and America. Your ages are varied. You are male and female mingled together. We are studying what God's will is and trying to carry it out, and to realize it. But outside, there are people around us making merry and enjoying themselves in the worldly sense. There is an absolute being, unmovable in a sense because of H Is high standard. But our situations are varied, and there are many situations in which there is a distance between us and God. Some are closer to Him, some are more distant from Him, but still others are on the vertical line on which they can communicate with God. However, some are entirely situated in other places, making it difficult to associate with Him.

Seen from Master's point of view, the places you are situated are all different from one another. But all of you, I am sure, would want to sit closer to him. Directly in front of him there is only room for two or three. Wouldn't you want to be seated in the front seat? When you have a central figure, or any leader, you want to come closer to him. Is there any single person here who wouldn't think of things in that way? Would you say, "I don't need to receive anything from him, because I am contented with my knowledge, I am satisfied with my position and my wealth"? There is still room left in your thought so that you can come closer to him at any time. But suppose there is only one chance to be near to him. If you are seated right here, that will never change, you can never concede the place to another person. It will go on for eternity. But this will be a serious matter. If there is only one place of love and ideal and you get hold of that place, you will never leave it and no one else can deprive you of it. Then, how seriously you must consider that place.

You can well imagine that you are going to be very serious about how you are going to get this place, but in the intensity of seeking, there are vast differences among you. Some are grave and intent -- and some are just very shallow. Master, too, wants to look at some persons. With some he would want to look into their eyes; but with others, he just looks at their faces, vaguely. Sometimes his glance is drawn their way. If you, from your part, are so serious about that, then if there is any being, an absolute one, who will make the situation or tries to restore the situation, then how much more serious must he be? You can imagine. If God, too, is so serious as to do that, He would focus all His five senses on one personage, and He would want that one personage to focus all his attention by using his five senses to meet Him at one point. As we think of where to situate ourselves, we become more and more serious.

I imagine all of you in the Divine Principle Family pray hard. Hungry or full, satisfied or dissatisfied, you are always praying hard to God. But the degree of your fervor will decide how much your prayers will be answered. In praying, too, your attitudes will differ from one another. I am sure, if you pray to God, then some are confident that in some degree your prayers will be answered, but some of you think, "I want to do so much for Him, but He's got to answer my prayer," while you are not quite in God's sight. God would not want you to change the way you are praying just because you want to adjust yourself to a way that is suitable to Him. However, some others are not praying so diligently, and God would want to have you pray harder and with more fervor. When you pray it is something like this: Suppose that God is looking in this direction, and your voice comes praying so hard and diligently -- He will turn His head and look to answer your prayer. God is looking closely at everyone of you and He will find that someone, without even praying, is doing things in such a way that this prayer is already answered. Then, God's glance will be drawn to that person.

If He has two children, and one is praying so hard even though he was not told to pray, and the other is only reluctantly praying, after he is told to pray, to whom would God be drawn? I don't think there is anyone among you who does not know the answer. Suppose there is one child who would nod to his father after being told something; and there is a wise child who has already found out things, and would come to his father and would say something is true, isn't it? And he would tell him that what he has found is true. Whom would he love more of the two? One child is aware of what is happening around his father, but another child is so anxious to know what is happening around his father that the first thing in the morning he would think, "is father up? What's his plan today? " To whom would the father's attention be drawn? There may be still another child who is so anxious to wake him up because he has wonderful plans today, he would knock at his door or just rush into his room and wake him. But the father would still love that child.

It was just yesterday he visited you to say he would not be coming again today. Some of you must be happier to have him here, rather than grumbling about his being here, breaking his promise. But, when this much is said, you can imagine what my conclusion is going to be. I may just stop here. What would you think of that?

Suppose there is one child who would pour out his whole energy, whole being, in trying to know his father, trying to know what is taking place around him all through the day -- 24 hours. Another child might do that for 23 hours, then another for ten hours, another for five hours, another for one hour. Whom would he love most? [24 hours]

If you were in the position of the father, would you love him when he just clings to you all through 24 hours, without letting you sleep? If you are loving and concerned with your father, even though you irritate him and even if you prevent him from doing anything else, if you are so concerned about him, he is forced to be concerned with you and love you. The same thing is true with God, with our Father. On the other hand, when a father has several children, and the father knocks at the door of his children and asks, "Would you want me to do anything for you? " And if you turn him away from the door of that child, would he be sorry and regretful and indifferent? How could He be? You said he cannot be angry while he was turned away? Is that true? You know too well. That's what makes the heart of the father happy. Even though turning away from him, the mind of his father would always turn toward him and feel like looking back. He would like to run to him and see what is happening, and see what he is doing. He is anxious to know what that child is doing, and he is anxious to help him when he is in difficulty -- more than he would be for the rest.

I am going to tell you an unforgettable story about Hyo Jin, my son. He is very active -- a tomboy. Also, he runs so fast that he stumbles. He injured his legs one day, and they were swollen. He was just a tiny boy like this when Father asked him, "Does it hurt you? " He was bleeding, and he told his Father, "it doesn't hurt, I am all right." Master has never forgotten that scene. Instead of crying, the boy comforted his father. With all this said, I'm sure you know too clearly how to go this way -- with one purpose -- with God's will and ours set with one goal. Suppose you are a child of his and you are studying hard and intoxicated in a novel, or in doing something to improve your life -- then your father would not get mad at you. But suppose the Father says: "I want you to work for me and go on an errand." Then you think: "Oh, He always knocks at my door at the wrong moment." You wouldn't feel like going on an errand. Then, another child might jump up at his father's request, drop whatever he is doing, and obey his father. Which of the two would the father love more? Suppose there is still another child who would always lend attentive ears to what his father had to say, and he would distinguish even his father's footsteps and jump up and welcome his father and be ready to do anything his father wished. Which would his father love most?

There may be still another child who already knows and who senses what his father is going to do today. He gets up early in the morning and he is anxious to stay at home so he can rush to the father's door; but because it is still too early, he has to stand outside his door and wait for him. Wouldn't the father love him the most? You are in a father-and-son relationship to God. God is in us: an absolute, ultimate being, and what He would want is to be our Father.

If you were in the position of His children, what would He expect of you then? To be ultimate and absolute in loving Him, in doing things for Him, and in returning joy to Him. Among the children who are doing best, too, there are two kinds. Some among you would want to serve your Father because you are anxious to be loved by your Father, and in return, enjoy His love. You are contented and satisfied with His love. But still others are worried about your Father's being anxious to reach out to other children, so much so that you would tell your Father that He has lost so many children and you want to bring them back to Him. Would you say, "Wait for me Father, even though I may be away from you, don't worry about me"? If you would go out in search of those lost brothers, and work so hard, and never return to your Father for a long period, would your Father hate you or be discontented with you? It is only too clear that Father would love you more if you are the child who would want to go out in search of your lost brothers and bring them back. Suppose the child working to restore his lost brothers should die in the front-line -- would the Father be angry at him and say to Himself, "He disobeyed me"? Would he do that? He would be angry, of course, but He would be so proud of His son -- His child. He can boast of His child to other people, and He will cherish the loving heart of His child and love him all the more. So, since your Father is in the subjective position, and you are in the objective, completely responding to Him, you do things without being told to do them and without complaining; you are more anxious than He is to carry out things which He has in mind.

Therefore, you cannot help but be loved by Him. No father can desert those kinds of children. If you are physically close to Him and loved by Him at this particular moment, that's good too. But if you are in the position to go out to the frontline always away from Him and never seeing Him for a long time, even if you have to die there, you will be praised by God; your Father will be proud of you. Any father loves any one of his children. But those who have done such are loved more by him. Take the case of the child who is always ready to help his father in any way possible, and who would like to leave his father for the sake of a great task to be carried out. The father's love and patience are with that child, in spirit, and the father would long to have him around to take care of his children and his great grandchildren. In that way his love would be multiplied through this child. He would be ready to do anything to reach him. If anyone would be scornful of the child who died for that great cause, the father's indignation would burst out. After the loss of this child, he would be ready to beat them, smash them to pieces. There are also various types of hearts: some would tell you, "You must love me and no one else and you must serve me and no one else for the sake of myself." But there are still other types of fathers, and they would tell you, "Instead of loving me and doing things like this for me, why don't you go around and do things for others, because I love them as much as I do you." That kind of father is the real father. If this father, when you are unwilling to sacrifice yourself, would drive you out to the death for the sake of many other children of his, that father is the true father. Which would be truer, the father that would want to have you around and never have you do anything for the sake of other people, or the one who would like to teach you and drive you out to do things for the sake of all his children? As I see it, there is none among you who does not know the answer. But in order to carry this out it is another thing. If you are able to do that, you are the true children of God -- of your True Parents.

That's why, in the Bible, we read many dogmatic or paradoxical things. In one place you are taught to love your Father, with all your heart, all your might and sincerity. That's the first commandment you are told to do by God. Then it tells you, you must love your neighbors as yourself. Both might seem paradoxical, but if those two are carried out, you can have the whole world. When God tells you to love Him more than anyone else, it means that He wants you to carry out what He tells you to do. So it is natural for you to have to love your neighbors and to love your brothers and sisters as you would yourself. If you are to resemble your Father, would you love just one person who will be satisfactory for your aims, or would you like to love Him for the sake of all the people of the world? God is loving the whole combination of them, including the people of the past and future generations. The broader the scope of the battle is, the more you are loved by the Heavenly Father.

First of all, you value the fact that you are the most precious individual. Isn't that true? Don't you think you are the most precious person? Is your Father also precious? [YES!] You have only one Father and would you want to help Him first and then take care of yourself later? [YES!] If many of you would like to do that for your Father, then wouldn't you like to be part of Him, like His flesh and bone? Then you would be a tumor -- always clinging to Him, a burden in a way. Would you still do that? [NO!] Then, you wouldn't want to have your Father. You are not attached to Him. Still, would you like to have your Father first and then yourself? [YES!] Do you like that idea? [YES!] But there is no freedom in that position. Would you still like that? [YES!!!]

In conclusion, we can say that there is no such thing as freedom when you are by yourself. When you are with your spouse, with someone else, real freedom can come. You may say, "I am born out of my father and I am already a part of him and I want to be with him and I want to do everything for him." Then you are already in the position to be loved by him and to inherit from him -- even after your death. In that case, even though you may have to die before your father, you know you will be living in the other world in spirit, and he will miss you and love you all the more. What would you lack then? If you are in that position that means that you will be with Father in spirit, you are going to live with Him wherever you are, all through eternity. So, asleep or awake, spiritually or physically, don't even think that you are alone. You are always with your Father, your Father is always with you.

When you are in the position to be loved by your Father, what will happen in the world? Once you get to the front-line, leaving this place, you will be faced with different situations. Maybe, on your way back, you will see a traffic accident, and one person killed there. At the very moment you may think you don't want to pass by, but you want to stop to think: "What caused him to be killed there? " Perhaps his ancestry, perhaps he had to sacrifice himself for the sake of the whole world, his ancestors? You would feel sympathetic, as though it were someone very near to you, and you would like to help the situation out in any way possible. You would want to tell the people standing around to be sympathetic. You can do such a thing if you have inherited Father's Heart. If he is seriously wounded, when other people are just watching him without doing anything, you would be so anxious, as if it were your father, to get him into your car and dash him to the hospital; you would be so anxious to keep him alive. You can even be thankful to God that you have learned a lesson from this.

While on a long trip you may visit a wonderful person who is doing wonderful things, and you may stop there and encourage him, you would be so grateful to Father that you had met such a righteous person who was worthy of your praise. You would want to be associated with him and get to know him and then you will have won that person's heart. If you place yourself in the position of mother to that person and endure for him, and pray to God that what he has paid will be received by God, and his ancestry forgiven, you are with him in misery, in spirit. Also, you may be with that man, encouraging him, being grateful and giving glory to God, by becoming one with that person in joy and sorrow. Then, could God desert you, could He hate you when seeing you do that?

Some of you can be different from the attitude of this person. At the moment of seeing the injured or dead person you think, "Oh, he must be from evil ancestors and I am glad and proud that I am born from good ancestors. I don't like to see him." You would leave that place. Upon meeting this other person, you say that "God, you have blessed that person. Why don't you bless me all the more? More than him -- I want to be blessed more than he is." If you are so greedy and if you are of such an attitude, would God like you? There can be also the third type of person -- always being ignorant and indifferent to whatever happens. He wouldn't pay much attention to the dead person or to the person doing good things. Would God like seeing that kind of person as His child? Out of the three kinds, which would you be? [THE FIRST!] Why wouldn't you be the third one -- making it easy for yourself? If I were you, I would choose the third one. Which one would you choose to be? If and when this father of yours would like to have the third type of person, you must desert him and go on being the first type of person -- then you are right.

You [should] love the world in such a way that you would want to have God bless a prosperous country all the more, and you would pray to God that He bless the nation to such an extent that this nation would be the leading nation of the world: "I want to see You being joyful over this prosperous country, after having poured out all the blessings You have concentrated on this nation." On the other hand, if you see a miserable people, an underprivileged and underdeveloped nation, then you [should] feel the zeal swelling up in your heart to make that nation see the sunshine some day. You [should] want to help elevate the standard of living in that nation, because you hate to see Father in anguish over that nation, and you are anxious to make it equal to other nations. You say to Father, "I am going to do that for the sake of You and for the sake of that nation. I will make that day come for that nation." You desire that without reservations. That kind of person cannot but be loved by God, your Father. In that position you would do this, because you want to see your Father happy over the fact, and you want to do this thing because you hate to see Father feeling miserable over these people.

So, if you are in that position, you can draw the heart of your Father, and you can have the love of God, your Father, in your possession -- which is the core of everything. If that kind of son were empty-handed after having given out all that he had, what would the Father do for him? He would tell him, "I am yours. You can have Me." With this in mind you can interpret everything contained in the Bible, so I don't have to give you a more detailed explanation. If you would walk your way in this manner, even though you are faced this way or that, and God is the other way around, He will turn to you and follow you and you can meet Him wherever you are. However low the place in which you are situated, your Father's glances will be focused on you there. However far away you may be from Him, He will be there with you. The Kingdom of God in which God would take delight will be right there in your mind, wherever you are. Will you be the one who will build and establish the Kingdom of God, which God would like to have on the earth, or would you like to live in the Kingdom of God? You must be so aware of the fact that you are not born out of your own accord, you are born for the sake of the whole world, and you are living for the sake of the whole world, and you are dying for the sake of the whole world. If you live this idea to the fullest extent, then you are already carrying out what you have to do for your Father. Then the whole Creation will want to belong to you, and God will be yours, too. Even though you don't want to have them, they will volunteer to come to you and be yours. Which type of person would you want to be? Would you be always anxious to see God, to have the world, and never do anything -- or would you go on doing things for the sake of the whole world? Then God would want to come to you from His part, and have the whole Creation desire to come to you and to belong to you. Wouldn't you be that type of person? I must still tell you, that when you want to be that kind of person, you must not be calculating what is coming to you: "Well, I am doing this because I want to be something." Without minding what is coming after that, you will go on and do this for the sake of the whole world and for the sake of God -- and then you will be rewarded. Would you want to be that kind of person? God wants you to be that kind of person; then all will be realized. After you carry out your mission, victory will be ours and God's also. In this way, I want you to bear in mind what I have told you this morning. And I want you -- all of you -- to be that kind of person. Let us pray.

Good morning. Here we have members from the European nations and from America. This must be the first conference of this kind. We originally planned to have this meeting throughout several months but as time goes by we will decide on the duration. I think there are Mobile Team Commanders from the eastern part of the country and the State Representatives. It is a rare opportunity and a wonderful opportunity to get them together. The official letter to you must have said that we would have a conference among State Representatives and Mobile Team Commanders exclusively. I am planning to have that three days after this. President Kim will be responsible for lectures. In the future, you must be well armed with the Divine Principle and with witnessing to other people. If you are well armed and well equipped with the ideology it will make it much easier for you to win more people. We have tested it and it proved true.

I think some of you may remember late President Eu. Well, he had the experience of giving lectures ten hours a day for three years and eight months. That he did with such a great zeal that he would speak at the top of his voice -- even if there was only one person to hear him. Master would listen to him, and if his voice was low and the spirit was lessening, he would dash down to the place and warn him against it. He would perspire all over throughout the time when he was giving the lecture. So it was more than heavy labor. He would finish one cycle of the lectures in three days. So, to late President Eu this was the most difficult period in his history. Crippled man that he was, if he would lay himself down in the bed before it was time, Master wouldn't permit that. We are the history makers, he would say to him. You are in the vanguard of other people. You are explaining God-made theories to the people and we have no time to lose. How can you lay yourself down like this, he would scream.

Mr. Eu was not a whole man like you; he was a crippled man, as some of you may remember. If he were in another man's position, a crippled man like him must have one or two hours rest out of every three hours. Oftentimes Master himself would think it was too much for him and he would think, "I am doing too harsh a thing to him." But since he realized that it is a battlefield, and that so many people are dying away waiting for us to reach out to them, then he could not help but do that to him. Only after three years and eight months, Master would move everything in his hands and he was sort of free to plan things and do things. You must remember that in the early days of our movement your seniors, like him, had gone through such difficulty. It may be difficult for Western people to imagine that, but if we are going through the course of indemnity to make our ideal a realization, we have got to do that. On the mobile teams you will be faced with the demand to give one cycle of the lectures during three days' time, or prolonging that into a precise lecture to be held during 3-4 weeks. So after three days of intensive study and lecture, we are going to give you -- the State Representative and Mobile Team Commanders in the eastern part of America -- give you an examination on that and re-evaluate what you have gone through. We have this meeting in the eastern part on March 1, today, and next month, I am going to visit the West Coast, and there I will hold a meeting including Mobile Team Commanders and State Representatives from the Western states. New directions will be given and some guidelines will be set up. We must purge your old concepts of the American Movement under the Divine Principle. You must eradicate habitual things in everyday life under Democracy. Democracy not being the final goal under the providence of God, we must set up a new tradition transcendent of Democracy or any "ism" or ideology, and ours will be of higher dimension than any other ideologies existing in the world.

Will the representatives from the European nations please hold up your hands?

[Mr. David Kim] Those who are from the old State Representatives please hold up your hand.

[Leader] In the beginning of this long-term training for the Mobile Team Commanders and State Representatives you are going to go through only three days' training, short-term training, and it is something for you. President Kim will be the lecturer on the Divine Principle. (Applause) There are two missionaries from Korea, Mr. Kim and Miss Kim. (Applause) Neil Salonen is the Acting President of the National Headquarters of America. (Applause) You know Master himself. (Applause) Mother you know of course. (Applause)

This morning my subject is, "Our Determination To Win." [Characters written on board] Those characters or letters must be strange-looking. While you write from left to right, we do it from right to left, completely the other way around. We start from the right until we cover to the extreme left. In Oriental countries, people never sleep on their stomachs. But I find you Western people, when you sleep, lie on your belly -- abdomen -- stomach. Oriental people write with their right hand, and I find quite a few Westerners left-handed in writing. There is some difference at least between East and West. While East is synthetical, you are more or less analytic. Eastern culture or civilization is based on mental or spiritual things rather than material things, as Western culture is. Eastern people are more or less mediators -- meditative and synthetical -- while you people are analytical and positive. This being the time to unify those two sides of human nature, that is why we need unification -- the Unification Church -- a unification group at this time in history. Both must come closer like this until they unite into one, and from there we must go up like this to reach higher dimensions. Up to the present moment, every kind of human endeavor was for men to come closer to making a joint effort in carrying out what we believe is the human mission -- but now, at the point where we meet, we must reach up to a higher dimension of things, that is, to God.

Both people of the East and people of the West have set differences -- talk in diverse ways and act out things in a way which pleases them -- but now is the time when they must be united in thought, utterance, and behavior. We are at the terminal point, after having tested every possible way, and we know that this is our final goal -- for us to meet together. We know we have experienced that man-made things are ephemeral things and we no longer delight in such things. We know that if there be a God at all, and we are made in His image, we can know this: man can think, say things and act out things, so God must be able to do the same. So why have we of humankind failed in thinking and saying and carrying out things; then we must rely on God to do that for us. By having God working through us we can attain the goal. And we, the unification group, are such that we will have God work through us -- and since we know that, our attempt has been a failure. Then if we work in accordance with God's will we are sure to make our goal a success. So we are the group of people trying to carry out our mission in accordance with God's will and we are sure we are going to make it a success. We are a different type of people from what people have been in the past. And our determination, our resolution, must be different from what other people have gone through.

Then what must be our determination? Our determination is not something we set up by ourselves, but the standard is somewhere else. Any resolution or determination made by any single man or woman in history will not be like ours. Ours is different from what any president or premier of any nation has hitherto set up with its people. You know there are roughly two major ideologies, Democracy and Communism, but our resolution or our determination will be different from what they, under either Communism or Democracy, have had. Our resolution, our determination, will be different from what any children under the guidance of their parents would have made or any loyal subject to the kings and queens could have made. Our determination is different from and higher than the determinations made by any group of people -- between teachers and students, between followers and religious founders. We believe in God being our Father. Not only our Creator, but our Father, and we know that God was going to send a true male and female as the True Parents. To the later mankind, after the Fall, and in accordance with God and the True Parents, we are going to set up a new tradition of higher dimension; and the followers in our movement are going to exemplify and put into practice our theory, our doctrine, for later generations. Centered on God's Heart, we are going to set up a new dimensional goal for mankind, all through history. Centered on God's Heart, centered on the Parent's Heart, and by adding the children's heart, our goal is to set up the standard of living on the family level, national level and worldwide level. What we have being false, we must put things on the true family level, true tribal level, true national level and true world level. The truest thing cannot be two but one. Can there be any two in the truest? After the perfection of one, then it can be multiplied into twos, threes and more, but not in the beginning. Seen from that standpoint or viewpoint, there must be one sent by God, and he must be the central figure for the whole of human society, setting up the new tradition on the family level, on the social level, on the religious level and on the worldwide level. He must be the central figure of God's and man's desire in the Latter Days. God would want to have that kind of person in human society -- and that is what we call the Messiah, the Lord of the Second Coming. God will be united into one with that man, and with God and that central figure put together, the Heart of Divine Love will be there -- and we as mankind, or followers of Him, must inherit His Heart of Love first of all. Then we have to replant it into the family unit, making a True Family; arid into the tribal unit, making a True Tribe; and into the soil of a nation, making that nation a True Nation; and plant it in the soil of the whole world, replanting or remaking the whole world. The people in the outside world wouldn't be conscious of this taking place, but we know too well that this kind of movement has already begun and we have that mission. We have here many members from many nations, but to look into ourselves, are we really with the heart of love inherited from our True Parents, who are one with God? It is doubtful.

We have God above and our True Parents and True Father, and with God and True Father as one, if you are going to inherit their heart of love, you must be able to stand on the vertical line, to be able to give out your love and shine out your love to other people. Until you have a solid bearing on the vertical line, inheriting what God and our True Father have set up, you can never dream of having your foundation on the horizontal level. Only after having laid the foundation on the vertical level, inheriting what is a virtue from God and our True Parents alone can you have the horizontal base or foundation; but unless you have that on the vertical level, you can never have that on the horizontal level. Out of all the Creation, we human beings stand up straight like this, and this symbolizes that we must have our bearing on the vertical level. We, in describing human conscience, say that man has a "straight" conscience [audience participates by saying we use the word "clear"] . When you say it is clear or straight, it is described as centered on the origin or source of the thing. When I say I have a clear conscience, can my standard be the ultimate one? No. The standard must be set on the absolute one. Suppose there is a cross, and the nuclear point or central point is here -- but we know that the central point must be on the vertical line. Then what is the original source of the thing we have to reach out for in the end or in the beginning, for mankind to be headed for? Some say goodness, beauty and justice, but no. That must be love, that can be inherited on the vertical level, and without our inheriting that kind of love on the vertical level, we cannot have a solid foundation on the horizontal level. That is something like tradition, and a nation of good tradition will never perish. Then, the people of that nation, when they have patriotism, they love the tradition set up by their forefathers, and they love their cultural background, and they love their people within that tradition.

In this sinful world, have there been any good traditions set up by God and by the True Parents? If we really examine It in the truest sense we must say no. Due to the human Fall, all through human history up to the present moment, there have been bloody battles, and the whole of human history has been woven with all sorts of misery: wars, poverty, diseases and all sorts of things like that. But there has never been a single tradition set up under God's love. If we have the original mind to desire what is ideal, what is happy and hopeful, then we must be able to hope it in God's love. We are sinful men, we are diseased, we are fallen, we have left our original position, and we all know the fact that the desire of fallen man is to go back to the original position before becoming ill, before falling down, before what we now are. We cannot deny that this has been the hope of all mankind: to be able to go back to the original position before the Fall. This was the hope of the religious founders, the past prophets and sages -- all those people wanted to go back to the original position.

In order for you to be able to inherit that on the vertical level, where are you headed for? In order to find out the thing lost we have to go back to the original place where we lost the thing. Who lost that heart of love in the beginning? Our first human ancestors, by committing a sin, by some reason or other, became False Parents. In doing that, we don't need the False Parents of sin and falsehood, but we have to have True Parents among us and we have to have restored parents. Our having met them is of such a value that it cannot be compared to what the people of the world have as their leaders of any kind. Even though we may be able to resurrect all the past saints and all the people of the world, all those things put together we cannot compare to the value of our True Parents. Can you compare or exchange them? Will you exchange your True Parents with the Democratic World? [NO!]

Suppose you become a refugee in war time. You will turn upside down all the possessions you have and you will take the most precious thing in your possession by becoming a refugee -- discarding all the rest. If you really know the value of our True Parents, and it is a war in the spiritual sense, and you are in the battlefield -- if you are going to flee, are you going to flee with your True Parents, or with your physical parents, brothers and sisters, wives and children? It is easy for you to say so, because you have learned from me.

Have you been like this -- frankly speaking -- before coming to this place? You have been complaining inwardly: "Well, this is too much to do, and why do I have to go through such difficulties when I have a well-to-do home and a good position?" Well, have you not been complaining like that? Do you think the True Parents must think of you as the most precious people-or should you think of the True Parents as the most precious persons? I don't believe you. I don't trust you in saying that. Do you really mean that? I think you have been so greedy to have them work with you, have them comfort you, have them soothe your heart and encourage you. And you sometimes complain that our True Parents are unfair. "Here, they must love us on an equal basis ... but they don't seem to do that." But in reaching out to the people, he must start with one person and reach to two or more, reaching out to the outer extreme. If he has five precious things, only five, well then it cannot be helped that he give it out to five persons and to no one else. So, here also we must have the order of things. We have front and rear, up and down, right and left. You are situated to his left -- and in giving out things, he will give one thing to the person on his right. Can you complain, because you situated yourself at the left side of Master? And whether or not he will give the thing to that person will be decided by God. But, you must realize that the personage in the central point will turn like the axis does, and sometimes his right side will follow around. You can never tell who is on his right side. You must wait for your turn to come. You must really truly realize yourself, what you are and who you are, before making the determination.

Here is God, the True Parents, and you -- and a vertical line going through all these elements must be a straight line, leaving a 90-degree angle on both sides of the horizontal level, mustn't it? Should it go like this, leaving 95 degrees here? [NO!] A tiny bit of difference in direction ... and in the long run, you will have such a vast distance from the original mainstream. But if you go through the central point, you are safe to the straight line down and from here you can have the horizontal foundation.

The central figure is a male being in the place of the bridegroom. His bride, too, must be in this vertical line, in oneness with him, and she will lay the foundation on t he horizontal level, too, leaving another 90 degrees there. This what is said in the Bible -- Bride and Bridegroom -- that is the conclusion of the whole Bible.

Then what will bring these two into one? Just love, human love of a male and female being? No. This male being is with love and this female being is with love, and they come closer until they meet at one point here -- but will the female become one with the male under the male, or the male under the female?

Well, suppose there is a couple, in your family, and they have some differences and a distance between them. Would it be all right for a woman to stand here, calling to her husband, "Come to me and you can become one with me," while the husband insists on his wife coming closer to him, to be united with him, and he is just standing there in his own place? Would that do? No. When you keep the subjectivity in your own love, selfish love, then true oneness in Divine Love can never come about. Then what is True Love at all? This one would not want to come to this one to become one; neither would this one want to come to this side to become one with him -- but both, when they come closer and closer to meet at one point in the middle, this can be True Love. In other words, only by both of them denying themselves can they really become one with each other. That is the standard of True Love. That's what it is, you must remember that. That's what we call the central love with two together. If and when you are put together like this, the love will have a circular motion and in the circular motion there is nothing like "yours" and "mine" -- just a perfect oneness, like a propeller whirling, just one harmonious wholeness will be there.

You saw the scenes on the television when the P. 0. W.'s came home from Vietnam. Then you saw the scenes of their meeting their beloved ones. Would they just come close like this -- or would they embrace each other and whirl around? That symbolizes that love alone can make things round, harmonious, circular or spherical. Then, in True Love, no one can invade and no one can interfere. Both must be obedient to each other, both must be willing to be united with each other, and in utter oneness they will enjoy harmony and beauty. You may say, "Oh no, I hate the word 'obedience'. Why do I have to obey my husband, obey my wife? I want to be freed from that bondage then, and I want to be a free person." But in True Love -- obedience, loyalty and surrender -- everything is possible and you are not humiliated by it. You want to be controlled, and dictatorship is possible only in that love. Wouldn't you want to have your husband a dictator -- to love you alone and no other people? Would you want to have him so fair and even and equal as to love so many girls? And your wife, vice-versa? No.

In the truest love, the truest dictatorship can be applied, and you want to keep it all through eternity. That is the intrinsic nature of love. Don't you like that law? Talk over everything, let go of everything. This is glorious love, and in that love the male being cannot do anything singly and the female cannot do anything singly, but those two put together alone-that means something and there is a significance. Then what is the origin of that love -- from whom is the love derived? Well, that love isn't something from that male being or that female being. No, love is fact, truth, results in everything good and virtuous. But where does it come from? It comes from no one else but God, the absolute being of Love, the highest dimension, the source of love, origin of love. Isn't that logical? The absolute subject of love is God -- no one else. Who is God and what is God like? In a word, God is the origin of the love I am enjoying, the subject of love. But this love does not come directly to you from God, but from your parents, because you are the product of the love of your parents.

Our first human ancestors, Adam and Eve, should have been in the position of the True Parents to us. But because of their failure in the Fall, we must have our True Parents as the mediators of God's love pouring down on us and giving us real life. And there must be a time for them to come. It is at the Close of the Age or the Latter Days that they will save us, restore us to the original position; and they are playing the role of the True Parents giving new life to us. And there must be a single point where those two will meet and that will be the central point. That point will be the ancestor of the horizontal line and the vertical line. We have to have True Ancestors -- by ancestral, he means the starting point. We have two ideal lines.

Here is the male being (on board) and here is the female being, and in the male being himself there is also a central point making the cross line possible -- the vertical line and horizontal line meeting together. You as an individual -- wouldn't you love yourself? Then, where is the central point, what is the love of yourself like -- centered on what? Your love of yourself is centered on what? Centered on God, through the True Parents, of course. Even vaguely, your love of yourself, your love of anything must be centered on God -- and through yourself you find your mind and body, and only by those two put together can you meet God's love there, and you can lay the foundation of four positions in yourself. With God above, when your mind and body are together, when you focus on your goal, whatever things you are going to do, then that would already make the foundation of four positions, a God-centered foundation. From the tiny square, this is the point where God abides -- your mind, your body, and your goal or purpose. Through your brain comes an idea; then by putting your mind and body into one, you put them in motion to attain your goal or purpose. If the square foundation of four positions were round , it would form a circle, which symbolizes perfection. (Diagram on board) Two of that kind of individual, one male and one female, when they unite in one with God-centered love: God is above, male and female, then their children. Four elements will form the foundation of four positions. In perfect give and take, in the whole action of oneness and love, God will come down to the central point; the male being, the female being and the children will come to one point in utter and absolute harmony. After becoming one, only by truly becoming one, does multiplication come about. If and when the male and female are put into one, then multiplication is possible, and they give birth to their children. There are sons and daughters ... in the first human family, of course, there were [to be several] sons and daughters, and the male and female were [to become] one in matrimony and give birth to more children, and their children; the male would be married to the female, to multiply their children. So, the base of four positions will be also multiplied. The point of absolute unification is love, and the point of division is also love, and multiplication comes from the love. In the love, right and left, up and down, front and rear all become united into one. The central point, being the representative point of Divine Love -- that can play the role of the central point or axis, rotating all the others around. If the central point is destroyed, all the rest will be scattered. Don't you see: in the family unit, while the husband and wife love each other dearly, their children are happy, their parents are happy, their friends, relatives, all around them are happy. But once there is disharmony and rupture between the two, if they divorce each other, then the children will be scattered into pieces, and every element in the family will be faced with misery and dissension. That's what love really is, love is the central point. Love is where harmony starts, life starts, and everything of virtue starts from there; and it is only too natural for God to have men love each other and build a family in Divine Love, tribe, nation and the whole world in Divine Love, all centered on His love. He is going to recreate or restore the world. Your love must be centered on God, but in the family unit centered on your parents; so if you are confident that you are really loved by your parents, you can hold up your head like this -- wherever you may be, toward whatever direction you may face, you are so confident, and you are upright like this -- but if you should lose your parental love (your parents don't love you anymore), you are so sad, disgusted, and you cannot raise your head. Facing any direction you feel obstacles, walls before you. If this is true of your love in the family, well, how much more would it be true when you enjoy God's love.

When you are loved by God you are so confident you can rise your head up high like this and you can go in every direction without reservation, without obstacles. In the family unit, when the husband and wife are brought together in Divine Love, God-centered love, with God abiding in that family -- that family, after giving birth to children, will be a perfect foundation of four positions. That kind of family and other such families will become one like this; then, there is a broader foundation of four positions. There is the foundation of four positions on the family level, tribal level; and if that kind of clan or tribe or such is put together in harmony and love, with this in the subject position (on diagram) and others in the object position, then the whole nation will have formed the foundation of four positions centered on God, and in that way the scope will be broadened. Centered on God's love, that is how and in what way we broaden its scope to reach out to the whole world under God's love. Is everything clear to you? [YES!]

In your own self, you must get your body to surrender to or to obey your mind, and become one -- and such a person in the subjective position and another in the objective position, when they meet each other and become one in God's love, there is a family-unit love, love on the family level. And then that family, when it wants to become one with other families in the objective position must deny itself or sacrifice itself, be ready to sacrifice itself and then it can absorb or subjugate or bring other families into one with itself; in that way only can we broaden the scope of love centered upon God. To deny yourself, to sacrifice yourself, is to subjugate other people, absorb other people. So if you as an individual should do that, then other individuals will be absorbed by you. And if your family can deny itself and sacrifice itself for the sake of other families, other families can be absorbed into and united with yours -- thus broadening its scope. If your clan is ready to sacrifice itself and deny itself for the sake of other clans, it can absorb or subjugate others, or have the others come to it to become one and broaden the scope to the national level of things. If one nation in the subjective position is ready to sacrifice itself or deny itself for the sake of other nations, that nation in the subjective position can absorb other nations into oneness with itself. And when we know this theory, we know that God is working behind the human scene, and in this way God would have us go through the course of indemnity until we gain, regain or restore the whole of mankind back to His bosom. However broad the scope may be, the central point is just one. That's the basis of heart -- heart of Love. God-centered, the love starts in the relationship of father and son. Is there any change or alternative in the love between father and son? It has been the same throughout human history.

This being a fallen world, there can be disharmony in the love between father and son, but the most precious love or truest love is to be found in the father-son relationship. This is the core of human love, it was to be found in Adam's family. In the family unit, if you sacrifice yourself this much, you will be vertically higher this much. When you deny yourself this much and sacrifice yourself this much, and this will be like this and it will add to the height -- here you are closer to God. If you deny this much more and deny yourself utterly you will become one with God and reach up. If you deny yourself 100% you will place yourself on the central point, the central point on the vertical level. Do you understand? So, to sacrifice yourself for the sake of the public is the main point and is the shortcut to reach out to God; then you can place yourself on the central point. Do you really understand?

Will anyone who has found real love be willing or ready to throw away all the rest? Your attention is focused on the love, on your love, and then your head will be like this -- not like that. You wouldn't like to turn away from the loved one. God is always on the vertical line and He is the origin and source of love. A man is the only being in the whole Creation to be able to place himself on that vertical line, being the central point, by denying himself. When you have done that, you will be on the vertical line, which is a lasting line, going through eternity. It must be clear enough, theoretically, too. Without True Love we cannot have the ideal world. Without that True Love being in the central point, we cannot have the whole world under that love, and this central point is God's love, and when we attach ourselves to that point, we can enjoy that love. To put it another way: when you sacrifice yourself to be able to put yourself at the central point, that means you stand at the height to reach up to God; but in another sense, God is coming to you, to meet you, to abide in you. So with God coming down this way your base will be broader. So, it is very true when the Bible says, "You are the temple of God." In that case, God will abide in us. If, from the side way, you become one with each other and whirl around as fast as you can, then your height will reach to God; and the other way around, God will try to reach you -- and with God abiding in you, your bases on the horizontal level will be broader. The stronger the action of give and take between the two, the more the love of God will be there, and the stronger you are bound in God's love. This kind of love, when realized in your family -- when it goes to the tribal or clan level, national level and worldwide level, is going to be the restored world of the ideal. In other words: the Kingdom of God on Earth. So, without God-centered love realized throughout the whole world, we cannot establish the Kingdom of God.

The world in which we are now living is without that central point of Godly love; but we are now, as our mission, to set up the standard or central point of love and place ourselves there to enjoy God's love and share God's love until we reach out to the whole world. Then, before you join with God in Divine Love, can you ever dream of loving anyone of the opposite sex? That is why, up to the present moment, in Christianity, they advocate celibacy, or an ascetic life. Then what must be our determination? You must be awakened to the fact that you are going to be the True Ancestors to your future generations. You are going to be the central point of God's love emitted from you, and you are going to be the starting point of the purging of the world. Since we are such, our determination to realize Divine Love in human society will be a unique, unchanging and eternal one -- it must be. You must, first of all, be an unchangeable being in the love of God, in the love of True Parents; and starting from you, you must be able to share that kind of love with your children and later generations. God, being eternal, has been there before Adam and Eve fell, and God has been with us throughout human history up to the present moment, and God is going to be with us in human society. We have been resolved or determined to become True Children of God. True Children of the True Parents, and True Parents to our future descendants, but have you been able to carry out your mission? We must be redetermined for that, and in doing that we must believe in God. But we must be the people whom God can trust. And whom the True Parents can trust and our True Brothers and Sisters can trust.

You know too well that there have been numerous followers in many religious sects, including the Christians, who have tried to follow that standard under God's love, and they have been thinking that they have done so much. But God, from His part, has been deceived, betrayed, and He would try to trust the people who believed in Him, but they would fail Him. So are we in a position to be trusted by God -- the most important thing? Suppose we have here two very devout followers in our movement -- but if I were in God's position, would I not still have to doubt you, recollecting the days I was betrayed by Adam and Eve? The days of Abraham, Moses, Noah, Jacob, Jesus, and Jesus' three disciples -- only if I could find in you something better than those people -- then alone could I really trust you. Wouldn't that be true? There is no doubt to that. You must know how miserable and how unhappy God is and how grieved God is after having been betrayed by so many people right at the start of human history; and He is desperate to find true persons -- and how unhappy and grieved God's heart must be. Have you ever imagined that? Then, in the light of all those things, are you really confident to be the truest children of God, whom God can really trust. [YES!]

Well, even though you may think you are that kind, there is a long history of God having been deceived by the people, betrayed by the people -- with much sadness and grief in His heart. You say that you are believable and trustworthy. Compared to the accumulated grief of God and the joy you are returning to Him, are you confident to have God trust you? Can your degree of loyalty or love of God eradicate all of man's history of betrayal? No knowledge, no position, no wealth, no anything, nothing can please Father except for your heart of love for God alone, which will make Him cry -- that alone can touch His heart. If you are ready to do anything at all for Him in order to ease His heart -- if you can deny yourself, sacrifice yourself, and be ready to comfort His heart, His grieving heart -- then only, with tearful eyes, will God trust you and love you. If you are ready to die ' if you cry out to God, "Whatever place you have for us to die, I will go to that place, and I am ready to deny myself, I am ready to die in the place of other people for the sake of Your cause," and if you really dash to that point, ready to sacrifice yourself, then God may be able to trust you. In that case, you are in a position similar to that of Jesus, praying in the Garden of Gethsemane: "Let this cup pass from me; that is not as I will, but as Thou will." And if you are utterly going to do things for the sake of God's will, then alone will He believe you. Even though He has been betrayed by so many people, when Jesus prayed before God, saying: "You may do anything You please, and I will follow You," then he could cry out to Jesus: "You resemble me; You restored yourself in the image and likeness of Myself." In that case alone, God can trust the person.

Even though God may have to lose the whole world, the whole nation, whole tribe, whole clan, whole family -- if He has one person left with that kind of attitude, that devotedness to the Love of God, and in oneness with God, forming the foundation of four positions in God's love, God will be pleased with that person; and starting right from that person, He can broaden the scope of His love and loving sphere, reaching out to the whole world again. This being the core of the Divine Principle, and this being the crux of the thing, even Satan cannot deny this -- and they will surrender to the person of God's love and world of God's love. In other words, we must resemble God to the fullest extent. If we analyze God or dissolve God there will be one thing left: that is love, God's love; we must be ready to sacrifice ourselves for this great cause. Even if we may have to die on the sea, die on the mountainside, die in the deep valley of darkness, wherever we may have to die; or if we are killed by other persons for this great cause, we must be ready to do that, and that is going to be our determination. That is why in the Bible we read, "'Whoever wants to gain his life will lose it and whoever is ready to lose his life, will gain it." That is the core of the Divine Teaching. So, if you are really determined to go ahead in advancing the path of restoration until we reach the goal, sacrificing yourself on the family level, sacrificing yourself on the clan level, tribal level, national level and for the sake of the whole world -- if you are ready to sacrifice yourself in utter denial of your own self, your determination will make our goal a success. And the goal will be the ideal, the victory; the success will be waiting for us. I want you not to forget all this and to be determined in carrying out your mission in that light.
